I've noticed people saying things like how Gortash tries really hard to seem like a noble and not like the commoner he grew up as
(and of course everyone is free to headcanon what they like)
but I thought it was clear he hated nobility and saw himself above them
I think the best examples of this are the busts in his office, specifically Carric and Dame
*Carric started from nothing, built a financial empire and founded the Counting House. He refused to mingle with the other patriars, saying, "They didn't want me when I was an urchin, and now they can't have me."*
*Dame Amafrey, the Orphans' Friend, founded several orphanages in the Outer City, as the Lower City was no place for children (and the Upper City declined to sponsor an orphanage).*
The narrator gets passive aggressive when reading about the upper city declining to sponsor, and the line about being an urchin feels very directed
So yeah I think at best he thinks lowly of them, at worst he hates these fuckers

my "hot" take on the show is that while it tried to dehumanize hannibal and make him seem like a god/devil, with no feelings, and apparently most of you do see him like that, I'm over here like "my bbg he has biiiig big feelings leave him alone" and "I trust no words that come out of Will Graham's mouth". I don't know what happened along the way but I ended up perceiving everything upside down from what they tried to depict lol

It's quite funny having followed you for years and years and knowing Machete as his dark, bloodied, cunning (and always on the edge of getting horribly murdered for his hubris) incarnation, and coming into 2024 and just... yeah he's gay now. Maybe he's even happy. Redemption at last... perhaps he DID get assassinated indeed and all those AUs are just his personal afterlife (does he get to go to Heaven? Seems so!)

Watching ST1 and surprised by just how much Nancy lies. She lies even when she has no reason to, like when she's hanging out with Steve and his friends and wants to leave, she could have easily said something like "I need to do something" or "I'm tired" but she made up some excuse about her mom. When asking Barb's mom about Barb, she could have easily told her she was worried but she didn't. Girl just lies like it's second nature to her.

So devil eyes naga eclipse gets closer in mostly every picture that y/n takes, does that mean that it’s getting closer to the time he’ll reveal himself fully to them?
Poor y/n needs a break
I love devil eyes eclipse sm naga and regular eheh
Oh, yes. DE naga Eclipse wants you to be paranoid of him. This is how he controls you. After having spent so much time making you feel his presence without actually being seen, making you feel unsafe, he decides he's close enough to introduce himself.
You're photographing a darker, denser part of the jungle, and your skin keeps crawling as you look around you, searching very shadow for piercing eyes. Of course, you don't feel safe. You haven't in a long time but you can't stop taking photos. That is until you hear a small rustle of leaves and a snap of a twig. Your heart trips in your chest as you step back from the noises that are so sharp in the otherwise eerily quiet evening.
You turn around, intending to leave, but you're met by a looming naga, all sanguine and dark scales, and very, very close. His fangs drip venom. He hisses softly when he reaches for you, and though you try to run, he catches you in his coils.
This is it. This one is going to kill you. He takes your jaw in his scaly hand and tilts your head to meet his dark gaze, examining you like a prized bird. He continues hissing so softly over your whimpers. He murmurs that you are a fine creature, and while the others fight amongst themselves, you'll be good and do exactly as he says. There's no need for him to threaten the other two humans you accompany. There's no need for him to squeeze your pretty pink cheeks until he leaves bruises. You know he's far more then capable of carrying out punishments if you don't do exactly as he says.
You'll obey. There's no need for 'or else'.

Bi-Han & Shang Tsung
One of the parallels I like about Bi-Han and Shang Tsung from previous timelines is the reputation vs reality of their life. Both were recognized as very talented, cunning and dangerous people in various source material, yet both were also servants
Tumblr media Tumblr media
each were even praised for job well done by their superiors, the Grandmaster and Shao Kahn respectively
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yet if they failed at their task, the leaders they served would not show them mercy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and I won’t lie, this parallel influences a lot my idea of Bi-Han, Shang Tsung and their relationship because they both balance on a very thin line between performing their duties perfectly and failure that brings dire consequences. But also how deprived of delusion about their situation they must be which gives an interesting contrast between those two and other characters (for example, despite everything that happened, Kuai Liang very often talks about Lin Kuei honor while Bi-Han barely uses that word in regard to himself or the clan). And yet both Bi-Han and Shang Tsung have an independence streak.
At the same time, there is something to say that the powerful sorcerer is more enslaved than an assassin. No one leaves Lin Kuei, but Bi-Han at least was implied by the original first Mortal Kombat game he could retire from the assassin life:
With his mission accomplished, Sub-Zero will collect this fortune and retire from his dangerous profession.
while there is no chance that Shang Tsung could just resign and look for another job - and, as the games indicate, he can only gain freedom after the death of his master(s).
Which is one of reasons Bi-Han and Shang Tsung get along so well in my head.

In a fight my muse... (elden ring style).
Bold the applicable, italicize if more situational or nuanced for what fits your muse tries in battle.
closes distance / makes distance.
uses overwhelming force / whittles down an opponent.
can endure a long fight. / cannot.
is quick to start a fight. / is rarely the instigator.
tries to dodge. / tries to block.
uses psychological tactics. / focuses on martial approach.
is a graceless fighter. / elegant fighter.
values honor. / uses dirty tactics.
accepts defeat. / begs for mercy. / cuts and runs.
// a bit of insight for the curious:
1.) when push comes to shove, sam relies on a combination of his more lethal aromatics and exploding jars to ruin someone's day or force an opening for his escape. he prefers creating distance for himself with a cloud of virulent poison or a roaring wall of flame, taking the opportunity space provides to decide on fight or flight.
1.) due to his shortness of breath, chronic cough and heart issues, a fight going on longer than two minutes will exhaust sam. as such a prolonged engagement is off the table, and sam avoids direct confrontation when possible. he'll attempt to weaken an enemy or tire them out with traps or aromatics before attempting to move in for a kill with a knife or his blade.
2.) should all else fail and his arsenal isn't enough to finish a fight, two things will occur. sam will draw a scavenger's curved sword and attempt to bleed out an attacker mercilessly... and he'll ring his spirit calling bell to summon one of two spirits. depraved perfumer carmaan's arrival is heralded with a fresh bombardment of aromatics, while the other has yet to be matched in a fight.
Inspired by a few things across rp tumblr, feel free to elaborate more if you’d like. And feel free to modify as needed for multi-muse blogs. Repost please instead of rbing!

my only general predictions for jjk is that Yuuji will be able to target the different souls in Sukuna’s body to be able to reach Megumi’s suppressed soul and attack sukuna’s. Im actually interested in how this will all go down, especially with Higuruma in the mix, since these fights can’t be as simple as two overpowered characters with the loss of multiple special grade sorcerers. With the potential of a court trial domain or Yuuji’s knowledge of the soul, I imagine it’ll become more psychological or metaphysical in the fighting, with a lot of good insight into sukuna and/or yuuji, megumi, etc. As for Kenjaku, I have NO idea where their story is going (apart from Yuuta wanting to kill them), but i enjoy that part of the story being unpredictable—it fits their character

Thinking about thinking ABOUT how - in Padawan - Obi-Wan's first introduction to Dex was this blasé guy telling Obi to stay out of the miner's business.
But our first introduction to him as readers was him challenging the villain on behalf of his coworkers, crying because he wasn't able to help them.
We get "they didn't sign on to die for you!" as his character defining moment for us, the readers. And then when it's revealed that this is Dex, he's already got his signature cheery mask up to hide how he feels. But we, the readers, we know. Because we already saw his tears.
The first thing we learn about Dexter Jettster in Padawan-
Before we learn even his species or his name-
The first thing that sets him apart from the ensemble he's a part of-
The one thing that makes the villain take note of him-
Is that Dex fucking cares about others.

i know the fandom a lot of the time likes to portray ezreal as kinda stupid, but i really don't think he is stupid. the boy's a child prodigy; he picked up after his parents much quicker than any normal child ever would, and he's got an amazing knack for getting himself out of even the most lethal of situations, and i think this holds true even in the heartsteel universe. if anything, his stupidity is just a front; a guise. a way to escape situations that may not be favourable for him, and though he's one of the band's poster boys, he doesn't actually attend a lot of interviews. he loves the fame, don't get me wrong, but i think being constantly dug into by paparazzi and fans alike is probably super exhausting. if anything, i feel like yone steps in for him a lot of the time and ezreal appreciates that. ezreal is goofy and likes to act stupid, but he's probably one of the smartest of the members and rose to fame as a child.
