The Akira-class U.S.S. Thunderchild CG model, as she appeared in the movie Star Trek: First Contact. Built by ILM. Despite looking fantastic on film, looking at the model close up reveals lots of 1990's CG crust.

The Akira-class would go on to be the inspiration for Enterprise NX-01, from Star Trek: Enterprise. Supposedly the producers wanted the Akira model used unchanged, and Doug Drexler and others had to plead to be permitted to build a new similar-but-different model with era-appropriate detailing (since ENT was set more than 200 years prior to FC)

Three characters called "Ozy" who are played by three actors and named in the film: "Ozy the Terrestrial" who is played by me, "Ozy the Extraterrestrial" who is played by Richard Dawkins, and "Ozy the Upright" who is played by Nick Davies

Four characters called "Yudkowsky" who are played by the same four actors named "Drexler," "Yudkowsky the Extraterrestrial," "Gresham X" and "Zalmon X" (all of whom are played by myself)

Lo spettacolo va in scena nella freddissima Chicago, e il protagonista più atteso non può essere altri che Michael Jeffrey Jordan, giocatore dei Bulls; le premesse sono decisamente esaltanti visto anche che l'avversario principale di MJ è Dominique Wilkins, "The human highlight film", grandissimo schiacciatore che ha calcato anche il parquet di Bologna. I due si scontrano in finale dopo aver eliminato personaggi del calibro di Spud Webb e Clyde Drexler e proprio all'ultimo tentativo disponibile per la vittoria Michael tira fuori dal cilindro una schiacciata giá vista nei turni precedenti, ma impossibile da non apprezzare per il coefficiente di difficoltà elevatissimo. Jordan parte da poco prima di centrocampo e stacca dal tiro libero. Resta in aria un'eternità tanto da guadagnarsi il soprannome di "His Airness" di difficile traduzione "Sua maestá dell'aria" o "Sua altezza aerea", mica male. La fotografia è leggendaria e diventa la scena finale di Space Jam. Il fotografo aveva ricevuto indicazioni su dove posizionarsi dallo stesso Jordan con un tocco sul ginocchio. Ma "Retrospettiva Futura" è anche una rovente dichiarazione d'amore verso il cinema, forma d'arte verso la quale Joe ha più volte dichiarato di voler dedicare parte delle proprie composizioni in futuro: "spesso ho la sensazione di vivere quel mi accade come se mi trovassi nella scena madre di un film, alla quale ho il desiderio di offrire il tema sonoro più opportuno." – racconta Barbieri – "È sempre stato con questa attitudine che ho scritto la mia musica, con una perenne suggestione filmica che mi stordisce e mi emoziona. Happy 95th birthday to Rosalyn Drexler! An early but under-recognized voice in American Pop Art, Drexler’s work often sources images from newspapers, films, or journalism. In this painting, the artist takes a photograph by Arthur Fellig—known as “Weegee”—of a couple kissing on the beach and creates an ambiguous relationship that questions the ideas of sexual conduct and consent. Imbuing the usually bright world of Pop with a sense of noir, Drexler turns her work into a psychological space of desire and danger.
