Hi there, besides Divot, does Drillburst ever have/raise any sparklings?

Technically no, BUT there is an AU @voiidfriend and I have where Drillburst does raise his oc Tandem! Who so happens to be Overlord's kid as well, but it's a whole thing he can get into ;)

I drew a thingie a while ago that was based off of it (I want to draw more down the line):

We'll probably write more about it later but the simplified version of it is that Overlord entrusts the current pit champion with babysitting his kid while he's out doing stuff. Said pit champion so happens to be Drillburst, who had just fought his eleventh opponent and officially has the most kills out of anyone in the prison. He's in a rough place, and now his warden is entrusting his kid to him? But it's not like he could say no, now can he? So he ends up taking care of Tandem while Overlord is out, prolonging his twelfth and final fight. He's wary of the sparkling at first, but their pure innocence unlike their father gradually makes him warm up to them.

When the time comes post fight 12 for OL to kick Drill's ass, the fight is exactly the same except for when Tandem runs in and clutches Drillburst, crying for their dad to stop hurting him - but it's right as Drillburst is about to explode. When he does explode, transforming and burrowing away, Tandem is caught up in his alt mode and is subsequently dragged along. They shut down alongside Drill, and are rescued with him by the Autobots after the prison is liberated. When Drill realizes he inadvertently stole Overlord's kid from him, he panics and considers leaving them out of fear that he might come back, but he ultimately decides to keep them as they weren't at fault, they're alone without anyone to look after them, and they like him as much as he likes them.

Cue Drillburst accidentally becoming Tandem's new father figure from then on out! He's first very wary for understandable reasons, but he ends up accepting and embracing his new role. Will he hand them back to overlord? hell no, he's made him mad enough already LOL

anyway, we have named the au Babysitter AU :D exhibit B of drill being a good dad even though he thinks he wouldnt handle kids well

HARD VOUCH !!!!! i feel like they would be so deeply un fucking serious at a dinner party like. okay niki would show up dressed to the nines and depending on what period in his life we're talking about wilbur he would either be Entirely trying too hard (l'manberg or before) or half-assing so hard it's mildly embarrassing (post-revival). but i cannot stress enough that if it's the latter? they're on the same page about it. this is a purposeful snub. turn your depression into pettiness with this one smart trick

and depending on what period of NIKI'S life we're talking about she would either stand on the sidelines staring at everyone with silent large bug eyes (nlm to healing TM era) OR she would be scurrying around small talking and then scurrying back over to wil to goss. and very strongly vice versa. every two fucking seconds wilbur is tapping niki on the shoulder going LOOK at that guys hair, do you BELIEVE what they just said. meanwhile niki nods politely through a whole conversation and then politely excuses herself to go refill her drink, stands next to wilbur discreetly, and starts spilling all of the gossip she's encountered

also i think in pre-l'manberg days they would go to fancy parties and lie for fun. like wilbur would start some dumbass running lie and niki would go :] cool and commit to it far harder than anyone has needed to ever

#had a mental image of postcanon (or like. canon divergence where they make up earlier) + wilbur trying to drag niki around one of those #parties to do The Old Grand Tour of the event and niki is just staring at everyone like o-o. every time #<- ngl this is mostly insp by her in the red banquet stream. but like. you go girl #anyway i think i read dinner parties as like. fancy parties. but they should have a wholesome homey dinner party too. sorry i cant read #asks #ty for your ask nonnie!! oh my blorbos my blorbos <3
