Imagine someone loving you? or obsessing over you so much that after you block them and end things with them, they make a new gmail account as "missyouyourname" gmail.com and then sending you mails from it daily and saying all things like i hope you are doing great and please reply and blah blah blah

Early Doggo test #2, I miss the energy in the lines and pose in this early doggo. But that’s part of the trade-off with trying to hit very specific breed ‘likenesses’ and still be fast.

Conversations With My Wife: It's Not Really My Choice Edition
To help you understand this conversation, my wife does 95% of the grocery shopping by herself. When she buys ice cream it is virtually always vanilla. That is fine with me because we have toppings at home that I can add.
The following conversation took place when I was shopping with her in the ice cream aisle.
Wife: You want to get ice cream?
Me: Sure.
Wife: What kind do you want?
Me: We can just get vanilla. We have toppings.
Wife: You can get something different. Pick out something you want.
Me: I don't care. I like everything.
Wife: Just pick out something. Anything is okay with me.
Me: Okay. How about Tin Roof Sundae? It has chocolate covered peanuts in it.
Wife: We have chocolate and peanuts at home and can add our own.
Me: Okay, let's get Neapolitan.
Wife: I don't like Neapolitan. It's got strawberry ice cream.
Me: Okay, how about Moose Tracks?
Wife: Mmmm, we could (clearly not happy).
Me: Let's just get vanilla.
Wife: If you want.
Me: Okay, vanilla.
(I reach for vanilla ice cream.)
Wife: Not that vanilla, get the one with vanilla beans.

(1.)Establish some structure in the way things are said.
(2.)Give some more thought to the speech patterns of the MC. Make it precise language, but with distinctly human phrases as well. Humanize but alienate.
(3.)Give some more thought to world building and making everything seem more real.
(4.)Make it clear that the MC made the decision to put the window there and designed this whole transport system.(maybe not)
(5.)Link the whole discussion back to the questions of why do humans do anything. Make the reader consider things beyond the scope of this poem.
(6.)Make some considerations of the larger narrative throughout the poem. How many lines are devoted to each question? What are the lines where the MC changes topics? What changes from the beggining of the poem to the end, and how is that conveyed through every part of both what is said, and how it is said.
(7.) Consider the possible names for the poem. "Tin Can in a tin can" Maybe? Nah... maybe? Idk
(8.) Add in my thoughts about brain chemicals and logic gates. Deterministic existence? The window is there because it is, because I am the way that I am.
(9.) Characterize the MC more. Right now, the MC are a blank slate, almost serving as a way to dictate the themes to the audience. There needs to be more characterization for why the MC thinks they why
_________________________________________
Why did I choose to exist in this way right now?(Seems a bit clunky)
Perhaps a vestige of my biological origin.(This part of the whole point of the poem. It is said too early)
It'll be another 28.672 minutes 'til this vessel reaches satellite 3.(Rename things, point 3)
Why did I choose to wait through this journey?(This specific of a question came too quickly. a person really considering this situation would have a more fuzzy veiwpoint at the beggining of pondering. maybe come at it from a different angle? like, maybe start with asking why a window is here.)
I could've transmitted my mind to one of my reserve avatars on that vessel and been there in an instance.(maybe give more alternatives. really show how incorporeal this person is. point 3 as well)
I chose to be here in this form, in this transport pod, looking out of this window with the stars reflecting off my mechanical eyes.(the imagery is really good, but too shoehorned)
Is it my need for continuity?(maybe rephrase this question? "Is it some need for continuity?" or something like that)
That would have no basis in logic, because I had no problem with the break my occasional transfer between avatars causes, or even my first transfer to an avatar all those years ago.(clunky. also the history is shoehorned. point 3 as well. Coma shouldnt be there.)
Why is there even a window here?(point 4.)
I'm a limb. (This is a good line of thought for the MC to explore, but from this point on, the MC was very sure of all of these conclusions. this is written like a turning point, but it doesn't really deserve that. maybe make some more questions and other lines of thought after this point as well.)
This pod is also a limb.
All my satellites are limbs. (Point 3)
And I chose to have this limb in this limb right now. (Tiny bit of clunk here. But definitly keep this thought in some form. Really convey the imagery that this chamber has no reason to exist. It is a structure designed to house a structure that is only here to be house. Is it a tin can in a tin can. A part loose in this chamber in the expanse of space. An oddity.)
Why?
Perhaps I'll forgo these formalities soon.
That's fine.
But for now.
This, is my playground. (Love it. Coma shouldn't be there.)
There is nothing to do here, but it's mere existence is a wonder to me. (Maybe reword this line to fit the tone better. The MC isn't supposed to think that this journey is the best thing ever, but still, the spirit of this line is good. Make it clear that this journey is not a pleasurable one, just a neutral experience. And that this pondering that the MC is going through isn't something life-changing experience, but just a shift in perspective that they are experiencing.)
I exist, as I exist. (Point 8 around here maybe)
And right now, I have manifested in this form.
Leaning against the window which has no purpose. (Scentence fragment)
Why are there windows in the first place anymore? (Clarify what I meant by this. I meant that windows in general in this age are almost always as useless as this one)
Because they are. (Not as big of a payoff. The window line of thought was not integrated enough into the poem for this to work. Even though this could work, I think perhaps changing it would be good too. I don't think a big punch at the end is needed, and trying to go for that might undercut the desire for the real point being the lines of thought the reader will go through after they finish, but the last line still needs to both make sense narratively as a conclusion the MC would come to, and also make a point as part of the themes of the poem)

About the Coronation: Proof that Harry went straight to the airport
Guess whose surly scowl isn't in the BBC's coronation documentary!
Around the 70-minute mark, there are scenes of the royal processions returning to Buckingham Palace to a warm welcome and great cheers from the extended families and close friends. Take a look at who was there...
Tumblr media
The lady in blue in front of Princess Michael and the lady in a white coat both look famliar to me, but I'm having trouble placing them. I believe the young man hovering over Mike's right shoulder is Earl Snowdon/David Linley's son (Princess Margaret's grandson), but I'm not sure so he didn't get a nametag.
Update! (12/29/23) The lady in blue is Sophie Tollemache, wife of Edward Tollemache, who I believe is the man to her right that's cut off in the image. Edward is one of Charles's godsons and Edward and Sophie's son Ralph (in the foreground above, with the blue arrow aross his head) is one of Charles's pageboys. The reason she is familiar to me is because of her dress. It is by Beulah London and is the same dress that Beatrice wore to the Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving (which Sophie Winkleman wore in fuchsia and which The Princess of Wales also has in blush and with short sleeves.)
Tumblr media
That's Mike Tindall with the medals on his chest standing next to Jack. You can't see it well, but Eugenie is the dark blue feathers blocked from the camera by the page boys and Zara is the light blue hat with blonde hair in the back.
Now, you know if the Sussexes knew the royals were filming a documentary for the coronation, Harry would've pushed himself to be front and center of everyone, and he probably would've stepped out to greet his darling papa with a hug and a kiss for the camera. I mean, the guy didn't push through chairs at the Commonwealth Service for nothing!
So, many thanks to the BBC for finally putting to bed the "when did Harry really leave for the airport" speculation. After all, there were competing narratives at the time of the coronation:
Harry's PR: Harry went to Buckingham Palace to see his father and have lunch with everyone, then he went to the airport.
Royal Reporters: Harry left for the airport immediately after the coronation service.
(Meghan co-signed with Harry's PR but then once the royal reporters began writing that Harry left immediately after the service, she started putting out 'Harry left immediately after the service to be home for Archie's birthday party' PR.)
Now we know. The royal reporters' version is correct. Harry went straight to the airport from Westminster Abbey.

To say that Famliar means a lot to me would be a HUGE understatement. This comic has done a lot in terms of self-acceptance, a reminder to prioritize self-care, and inspiration, both artistically and human...ly. Happy 4 years, Familiar, and to all that's yet to come! BIG love!! @soushiyo

Year in fic review 2023
Total number of completed stories: 4, I finished Spare Parts in 2022, just finished posting in 2023.
Total word count: About 50 k (published, god knows how many words of unfinished WIPS and abandoned one-shots)
Fandoms written in: BBC Sherlock, I'm a one-trick pony these days ;-)
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?
Hm, I suppose less? And not the things I expected. I started writing a lot of long, plotty fics but apparently, it wasn't the year for long and plotty fics. I suppose I didn't have the brain space for long and plotty.
What’s your own favorite story of the year?
Probably Nothing Gold Can Stay, because I had this idea months and months ago, of John having a bit of a crisis before his wedding. I had this one piece of a core of a fic, the whole nucleus where John tells Sherlock nobody ever sticks with him, ever. And then I had three different fragments of fics trying to make it work, and every one had something amazing in it, but I just couldn't make it gel. And then I thought of the famous The thing you wanted to say, say it now, and the scene on the bench in TSOT, and bam, I had a fic. It came out in stops and starts of 200-word chunks, while John laboured with whether and how and when to trust enough, to have faith enough to actually say how he feels. I'm really proud of how it came out in the end, and I'm very happy you guys responded to it the way you did.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
I don't know about risks, but I wrote 31 ficlets in pretty much a month, which came out to 26000 words, and that was no mean feat. And I actually still like most of them. Gave me a bit of writers' burn-out, I won't lie, but what a ride!
Do you have any fanfic goals for the new year?
I want to finish my Christmas fic. I would like to re-visit the Nothing Gold boys because I think there's meat on these bones and I always wanted to do a series of shorter fics that hang together. So maybe I can do something with that. But last year was so stressful at work and I don't see this year going any better (we have three big conferences this summer, so it's probably going to be So Much Worse). So, I'll be grateful for what I can accomplish, and accept that it might not be everything I want.
Most popular story of the year?
Nothing Gold Can Stay for sure.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Hm, I got a lot of lovely feedback this year, so I generally feel loved and appreciated by fandom. My May ficlets especially got a lot of responses here on tumblr, and I loved that dynamic interchange between writing and reading and commeting, especially with the others who did the challenge.
If I had to pick one underappreciated story, my Spare Parts 'verse January 29th fic The Stars Walk Backward didn't get a lot of eyeballs, but it's understandable given that it's a one-shot in a 'verse that not that many people are famliar with in the first place. It's a bit of a stepchild of a 'verse, but I love it, and I love this story for its unabashed sentimentality. It's very sweet and very calm and has a lot of 'we're back together and I don't want to fuck this up again' energy. I love re-visiting this fic if I need a quick pick-me-up, so. You know.
Most fun story to write:
Most of the ficlets were fun to write, and Tipping Point was somehow the opposite of Nothing Gold Can Stay in that it came out in a big rush over four days, like a writing tsunami. But my Christmas fic is also super fun to write, I just hope I can sustain the fun and actually finish it.
Most unintentionally telling story:
Probably Nothing Gold Can Stay, I suppose. Grief is really complicated, and it's difficult to come to terms with the fact that you can sort of stumble into pockets of it, and that you sometimes grieve things that are technically still there but have changed a lot. Essentially, the story is about a John who has to stop running away from his grief and turn around and face it, and a Sherlock who sees that if he wants to truly get John back, he has to face it with him.
Biggest disappointment:
With myself for being unable to finish the many, many, many fics I've stared but didn't remotely finish. But also gracious to myself for letting life happen.
Biggest surprise:
Not surprise but gratitude for the love and support of this fandom. You guys are awesome. I'm so grateful whenever someone tells me that something I wrote made them Feel Something(TM). It's the greatest compliment a writer can receive, and I feel truly blessed that I heard this a fair bit this year. I write because it makes me happy, and if people reading my fics experience something similar, then that makes me even happier. So thank you, fandom.
