glass onion demonstrates how great satire often seems prophetic since it draws on what’s plain to see in the present. fake-elon Miles Bron waters a crowd of sycophants to do his bidding, throws money around until smarter people turn his idiotic ideas into something workable; worse-elon bought twitter in what looked like a childish fit of pique, grand proclamations to finally rid the platform of bots and meanies*. but that can’t be what’s going on right? theres gotta be something we’re not seeing, no one would make such nonsensical, expensive, dangerous decisions just for notoriety. there’s gotta be some master plan. but no, glass onion says (way back in 2021!), the center is clear. to see it, you just need to accept that he really is that fucking stupid.

Is there anything gayer than refusing to ask someone out, then holding them personally responsible for the silent, ever-increasing intensity of your feelings until they tell you casually they're going on a date with someone who asked them out, then exploding with despair? Almost certainly, but no one will tell me what it is.
"I would've died for you" is a complete non sequitur of a response to the sentence "I am going on a date with a boy named Blane," but it's also the only honest thing one can say in response.
Something that May Shock and Discredit You, Daniel Mallory Ortberg (Lavery)

reminder as easter approaches to not give rabbits or ducks as gifts
both are animals that require special care (no, not all animals are just different shapes of cats or dogs) and can live up to 10 years if well cared for
they're not toys, they're living creatures that require love, care, special diets, time, and modifications to your home to keep them safe
they are also not creatures that can just be released into the countryside and be expected to survive. They're domestic animals and will not survive. Please don't impulse buy any animal as a gift, but at least have the basic humanity to rehome them or surrender them to a shelter/rescue and not leave them on the side of the road or in a box in a dumpster
Kind of like Christmas time, there's an influx of impulse/gift adoptions around Easter time that are then immediately surrendered or abandoned within a month. Consider finding a local rescue in your area and donating money, supplies, or your time via volunteering to help! Many also run foster programs, or need help with driving the animals in their care to vet appointments and so on.
k PSA over thanks ✌🐇🦆
