Midnight Masquerade ball:

You went to the dorm room after you realize it's already a long night.

Maybe if you can't find any of those shrouds. You can take a sleep on their air condition room. Grim probably gonna party and eat all night anyway.

When you passes the mirror of chamber, you found it locked but say no thoughts about it as you continue your way to the dorm of Ignihyde.

"Hey..." You starts as you open the door to the lobby of the dorm. You soon greeted by Ignihyde student who rather play games than party.

"Hey, Prefect Yuu." Few of your aacquaintance and folks that know your a #1 visitor of the shroud brothers waved at you.

"You all don't go to the party?" You look confuse to the students. They all made a face that says the same thing: disgusted. " Ew. We have a tournament for this game tonight either way." Dorm member C says before going back to the game his playing.

"Mk." You realize maybe that's the case why idia don't come. You were walking towards the shroud brothers room but then you heard someone yelled. "Big brother!? Where are you idia shroud..." You search for the sound of voice coming from. You saw Ortho coming out from the corner of the hallway, that leads to their room.

"Idia's out?" You question after a wave of greetings. The moment the robot kid spotted you, his eyes sparkle and float toward you. Currently his on his dorm uniform body gear.

"Yuu~ " he called out to you and soon his in front of you. " It's good nothing alarming happened to you." A screen appear before him, he seems to check if something wrong with you or not. He Found nothing wrong he seems more happy than before.

"Huh... Is there a danger I don't know about ?" You question him since he started the topic about you being in a good state as if something terrible could happen.

"....| Scanning authority to leak out private information. Prefect Yuu of another world.... 80%...| " You stared at him as he went full AI mode.

"Srl. You don't need to say it if you think it's private information." You interjected as he scan and analyzing if it's allowed or not. He stopped and stared at you with his golden orbs. " |

..Scanning cancelled.| ... Ehehe thanks Yuu! By the way... have you happen to see Big brother ?" He giggle as he change the topic.

"Nope. I was looking for the two of you and found no trace of you two... Until just now." Honestly, you wonder where the Top introvert went out when others don't leave the dorm room. Maybe he went to get a midnight snack or something.' you thought as the two of you went to look for Idia.

As you two walk in the hallway. Going out of the dorm to the school hall.

Ortho comes to a stop when you two stood in front of the mirror chamber with the black mirror inside.

"Hey Yuu..." You heard him start.

"Hmm?" You hummed a tone as you look at the youngest Shroud. " Do you know about the information of the magic tool use for the ball tonight don't only transform Humans, or fea to who they "wanted" or greatly "admire" but also spirit to ghost that once "human"." He said in a matter fact tone.

"It's a tool use since long ago but it's only able to use it's full potential in nights like this, a certain day that happen twice or times each decades...some times it happen once a century." He show you a hologram of today's date, it show it's a day blue comet that represents the Blue fairy from old tales.

"Wow..." Amaze about the fact that you only discovered about the event today, you can't help but think it's a good thing you experience it when you come to this world.

Through a thought comes in mind as you watch Ortho enter the room of mirror chamber.

"Can the mirror..." You wonder if it works to non human like a robot like Ortho.

"According to calculation the chances of it to be able to do that is... Quite low." He inspected the place before he stood in front of the mirror, he seems to he in a deep thought.

"Well... There's nothing wrong in trying out. There always possibility even it's under the impression of almost impossible..." You skip toward him and stood in front of the magic tool. He stared at you surprised as he takes his hand and guide him to the magic tool.

"Even if it's a short time. Wont you want to experience something rare as this? So who would you wanted to be Ortho?"

Smiling happily you waited for his reply.

He analyze your experience before he let out a chuckle.

"I do admire my big brother..." He seems to glow and star to transform to someone else but it stopped and he went back to normal. " instead of transformations... I wanted to use this chance to use another ability of the mirror instead. " He added as he stared at the magic tool.

Pouting as your not able to see the power of the mirror, you sigh yet your smile stayed.

"There's another use of this magic tool?"

"Do you know...Each person can only use it in their lifetime... But that fact is rather old and people would rather use their chances to be someone else at least they can experience to be someone they admire... Through the other use of this mirror is."

His gaze went downcast to your hand that still linked to his. You embarrassedly thought he don't like the hand holding but as you try to take your hand away, he grab it and intertwined your hands together.

"There's a hidden information about this magic tool...it's the fact. you can peak to the future with this tool. But only what the person wanted, can be seen by the said person." He stared at the glowing mirror.

"Ooh. That's very interesting. Should I look whats the lottery number tomorrow?" You joked as you stared at the mirror, a set of numbers appear and you quickly went to get a pen to write it down.

" HOLD UP HOLD UP. GEEZE..." you exclaimed as the mirror is giving the number in a fast speed. You only able to write the last three digit correctly. You sigh hopelessly, it seems you wasted your once a lifetime chances to use a magic tool.

"Yuu want to win the Lottery? I can help you find the possibility winning number using calculation and data analysis." You heard Ortho chuckle after he sigh hopelessly at your antics.

"Ehh... It supposed to be a joke. " You laugh at yourself. You can't do anything now anyway. Might as well what you get and get some money.

"So... What did you ask to see?" You wanted to learn what he wanted to see.

"Hehe. Don't you know the infamous words "curiosity kills the cat?" " He says with a teasing tone.

"But satisfactory brought it back to life." You added to his words. " You can give me a hint if you can't give all the juicy details." You don't want to force the dude and it's none of your business. Smh

"If you stay to see it... You could know what I saw." He seems cryptic about his words, you don't understand it either way. He don't plan to explain it either.

"Smh, ok let's go back searching for you brother then." You shrugs of the topic and start to go back to the main point of you two walking around the place.

"Oh, a dorm member says through communicator, that big brother went back to the dorm just now." He floats beside you. He seems to pause and stared at the digital screen in front of him.

"By the way, have you dance with anyone yet ? Did you enjoy the party ? I hope it's a fun time for you~" (Ortho)

"It's fun. People were in different faces, and acting out those characters." You thought about the silly moment your friends did earlier. Some scenes that the real deal wouldn't probably do.

"I don't dance with anyone. I probably gonna step on their feet ahaha." You joked as you both start to went out the room.

"Then you don't dance with anyone yet ? But it's a ball~ big brother wont let me join cause he says you have bunch of friends to accompany you, missing two would be fine. " He seems sad about idia words, yet it makes you more sad as those two who your hoping to join along won't really come to the ball no matter what. " ...sigh." you silently sigh at that sentence.

"Oh!" He seems to think of something, he land his feet to thr ground and slightly bow, looking up to you with what seems to be grinning, offering his hand.

"Would you care for a dance, Yuu?" He ask like a gentleman. " I have downloaded the tips to how to, so with me here. I'll guide the dance!" He cheerfully says as you giggle and accepted his hand.

As you two enjoy the moment You have failed to notice the magic tool showing an image of what Ortho saw.

A person unable to return home as they are stock in underworld. The story of Persephone surrounded by flowers in a dark place but Persephone face is someone else... Which is you. Someone is calling out for them who could be one of the shrouds as the flaming blue hair come into a view.

They reach out to Persephone who happily accept it and they soon run toward the glooming darkness of the unknown...the scene soon ended . The mirror cracks in it's the edges.

You two don't give a care as you dance away, away from the room while saying things that makes the other laugh. Enjoying the time, like there's no tommorow.

'if you were to gaze to a future you WANTED and DESIRE to see. It could happen and you WILL FORCE it to happen. The tool can only do this once and be broken afterwards.' was one of the words Ortho never told you as you two went to jam with idia for the whole night. The news of the intruder and the possibility of them be the reason of why the old artifact/ magic tool broke apart soon spread out but such news never reach you because as the news was about to be shared, people who want to talk about it soon forgotten about it.

"Ahaha. So you went out with that outfit again?" You tease idia the next day, he only rolled his eyes and Ortho sighs.

"Smh, you normies don't understand the SSR gear I have." He says as he went and drop uno to the table. Smirking as he won again."Uno!"

"WHYYYY... AGAIN AGAIN..." (Yuu)

"I can help you, Yuu~" (Ortho)

"Tks, even if you two team up, you will lost " (Idia).

Your too busy enjoying your moment to care about the world after all.

Thanks for reading this short interaction story! Hopefully its fine read with some mistakes in grammar and such. I'll try to fix them when I'm on PC, I'm only using phone.

Context: the blue fairy comet is also base from Pinocchio who turn a wooden boy to a real boy (ending 2), in Cinderella who could be say as FAIRY god mother could be blue from movie and that's where the midnight come from (almost everyone who become someone else or someone they admire). The spell only last till midnight but remember in sleeping beauty there's a fairy who somehow bless or see or something to the future (?) One of the three fairies that bless sleeping beauty made those adjustment that become a reality and change the curse (ending 3) what you wish thru it could be possible future or see through the future.

Hi Bel, long time fan! I'm hoping you can help me with a little something since you're the most knowledgeable Destiny person I know. I've been collecting Daito items and recently purchased this ship from Eververse:

Like you can see, Daito's not the only icon displayed on the ship. It also has PФБA (Russian Federal Bureau of Aeronautics), recognized by the red, white, gray circle icon in the back. The one icon I can't recognize (and is driving me nuts) is this one:

Looking into it, the others of the Long Haul Set also has it:

But these are the only other items that I've found with that icon/logo/thingamajig.

When you look at the colours of the Shell, it makes you think of the Vanguard logo, but why upside down? The little v makes me think of SRL, the dots and the entirety of it makes me think of the Exoscience labs... (which could make sense because the ship refers to Europa? But I scoured Bray Exoscience and did not find this specific icon there) Otherwise, with all my researching and running around destinations in game, I have not found anything else that has this design or refers to it. I really want to know what it is now that I'm invested and put in all this effort, but I've hit a wall. I'm hoping that you may have some insight to what this icon is?

Genuinely also confused. The one thing I can help with is the proper orientation of the symbol.

It can best be explained with the ship:

Because of the text of PФБA, we can tell that the symbol should probably be looked at the other way around, like this:

Best seen on the Ghost shell, when inverted to be properly orientated:

Definitely reminiscent of the Vanguard symbol, but not fully and not properly orientated either. No clue what the bottom part is tho. It genuinely doesn't look like any foundry or anything related to them. It would have to be a symbol of something like a foundry or organisation because all other ones are there. The ship in particular has Hakke and Suros and Daito, as well as PФБA.

There's nothing about it on Artstation either, so whoever designed the pack didn't put up any models or art of it.

Very weird. I'll be looking out if I can spot it anywhere else. Also, if anyone else has more information, let us know!

this just in!!

hey everyone! sorry these are so late, we're still on hiatus!(unfortunately) so we might as well give you all the news we missed at once!

Like always, we'll be starting with weapons!

but just a heads up,these are all just recolors,no special differences

our first one is the big swig express! this big swig twin has the angled shooter as a sub and the ink storm as a special! very interesting kit.

next up is the bedazzled killer,The heavy splatling deco! this sparkly minigun has the point sensor as a sub and the lovely kraken royale as the special!

our third and final weapon is the custom dual squelcher! ..wowie this thing looks lame .. er- this weapon has the squid beakon as a sub and the super chump as a special! very good kit for stealth!

it appears we won't be getting any new or retuning specials this season,what a bummer!

Next up we've got the new and returning stages! take a peek.

First we've got humpback pump track,a returning stage from Splatoon 2!

secondly we've got barnacle & dime. a new stage coming this season! we'll let the officials give the quirky description for this one.

and for our final bit of news for this post..t new splatband!!! many people are exctatic for this,and I can't blame em!

the new band is called yoko & the gold bazookas! this fresh new group consist of a blue ringed octopus (left) a possible sea cucumber (right) and ink theory's trumpeter,yoko! (center)

unfortunately for those curious about the other two band members, they're unnamed with the only thing known so far is their specie.

and for the fortunate part, we have one of their new tracks ready to showcase!

SPLATOON CHILL SEASON '22

Figured since I have the time, I may as well sit down and share my thoughts on all the things I've noticed in the new trailer for Splatoon 3's upcoming CHILL SEASON! I'll likely start just by talking about the new weapons and maps, and move into what else I noticed in the trailer and about how excited (or not) I am about certain things!

Feel free to share your own thoughts in the replies/notes !!

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SPLATOON 3'S CHILL SEASON TRAILER, IF YOU DON'T WISH TO BE SPOILED, GO WATCH THE VIDEO FIRST AND COME BACK! All spoilers will be located beneath the cut! But, without further ado, let's get into it:

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE NEW WEAPONS

01. NEW SHOOTER — "SPLATTERSHOT NOVA"

In the process of making this post, the Squid Research Lab posted individual renders of each of the new weapons, as well as the official names. It appears this bad-boy is actually a part of the Splattershot family, something I was both expecting and hoping I was wrong about. Personally speaking, I think we had enough -shot weapons. Not to mention enough shooters, but I'll take a cool-looking weapon where I can get it.

I had a friend describe this weapon as "edgy" looking, and I can't argue with that take, but I can say I don't mind it. Compared to the other weapons in the -shot family, it has its own stand-out look. I can't say I'll be maining this weapon, or playing it more than once or twice, but I can say that I'm excited to see how it plays and what it's gimmick is.

We don't get much screentime in the video for this, but the combination of what we do see, as well as the Twitter post from the SRL, we know a couple of things: it has killer wail, "galactic range", and pretty consistent aim. I don't have any predictions on where this will end up in the meta, but if they give it a good enough sub it may just end up being a cunt to play against, that's for sure.

02. NEW ROLLER — "BIG SWIG ROLLER"

The name is this weapon is so weird and funny that I really just want to take a moment to look at it and laugh. "Big Swig Roller". Who came up with this and why? I don't know, I don't care, but also I do. Why. Please, if you have answers, contact your local tumblr user kscope immediately.

This roller seems to be attached to a soda drink, with a straw being the connecting centerpiece of the roller as a whole. A friend of mine called this the "soda roller" thanks to this, and I'm stealing it from her, since it's befitting. If you ask me, this appears to be some weird mix between the dynamo roller (turf coverage) and the carbon roller (speed). The little bit of screentime it gets in the trailer shows off how much ground it covers, as well as its supposed speed.

The SRL post on Twitter tells us that it can cover a lot of ground, with very little ink consumption. This leads me to believe this is primarily going to be a turf-covering weapon, as opposed to being a damage-dealer. More likely than not, roller-crushing your enemies with this weapon won't be a thing. If they want to prove me wrong though, they can. There's still time, Nintendo.

As for the kit for this thing, I have no idea. It primarily seems to be used as a turfing weapon, so they'll probably give it something to compliment its speed and coverage. If not for Dynamo, I'd have guessed Tacticooler since it'd be good for special-farming. Without that, little clue, little idea. Thank God I'm not a roller player.

03. NEW CHARGER — "SNIPEWRITER 5H"

AS A CHARGER MAIN: I hate this stupid looking charger. I do not claim this stupid looking charger. I don't know whose ungodly design this was. Nintendo I am knocking on your HQ doors right now for answers. Let me in. I just want to talk.

All that aside, I do kind of like its name, and I like the idea. It reminds me of those pencils with different tips stored inside it, if you know what I'm getting at. I won't include a picture, but it's the ones that sometimes came in different shapes and were stackable. If you know you know.

As for the execution, I'm not a fan. This weapon is what happens when you ask charger players what they want in a weapon, but only listen to the Bamboozler mains. It got the most screentime out of all the new weapons, and from that we can see that this thing is capable of storing up to 5 shots, while being a 2-shot kill. Whether or not it has held-charge was never shown in the trailer, but I'm going to hope and pray to the Splatoon Gods that it does not.

What we do know, however, is that it has Tacticooler. I wanted this on a charger, any charger, but now that I have it I would do anything to take it back. This game fucking hates me. End post. Wait, actually, it also has a sub that has pretty high ink-consumption. Which one that is, however, is still unknown.

04. RETURNING WEAPONS

In conjunction to these three completely new weapons, we also got a peek at a couple of the returning weapons. According to the press release, we're getting a total of ten returning weapons. We didn't get a glimpse at all of them but the ones we did are as follows (alongside what I know of their kits):

DAPPLE DUALIES NOUVEAU (w/ torpedo)

ANOTHER MINI SPLATLING (w/ toxic mist & big bubbler)

TENTATEK SPLATTERSHOT (w/ splat bomb)

LUNA BLASTER NEO (w/ fizzy bomb)

FORGE SPLATTERSHOT PRO (w/ suction & booyah bomb)

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE NEW MAPS

It looks like this time, we're only getting two new maps (one of which is just a returning map from Splatoon 1). Nonetheless, let's get into it.

01. NEW MAP — "BRINEWATER SPRINGS"

My friends and I are constantly talking about how The Reef might get re-added to the game and everything, but this map kind of reminds me of it. Not in terms of its aesthetics (they are completely different in that regard), but rather in terms of their design.

In the Twitter post showing off the map, the SRL wrote "Defend the high ground or risk it all to invade from below?" From the video, it appears to have a central bridge, much like the reef, with an open area beneath it. This map, to me, is what would happen if you took The Reef and Snapper Canal, combined them, and then gave them a completely new aesthetic look.

Oddly enough, I don't hate it and I'm really excited to play it. It looks like it'll have a lot of verticality to it, and hopefully won't inspire every sweaty player to try to terrorize my spawn every chance they get.

02. RETURNING MAP — "FLOUNDER HEIGHTS"

I'll preface my opinions here by saying that: yes, I did play Splatoon 1. However, I played it briefly before 3 came out, which means that it was underpopulated. I also didn't play it much, and usually when I did, the same maps were always in rotation. I think I landed on Flouder Heights a total of one time, and that one time was a hot mess. I played with my Splatoon Veteran friends who were sniping me from places on the map I didn't know existed.

That is to say: this map is basically completely new to me.

Right now, it looks like Flounder Heights got Manta-ified. The walls that we're shown in the Twitter video supplied by SRL look to be about the same height as the walls out of camp in Manta Maria. For a map titled "Flounder Heights," I almost wish they would have kept the taller walls and the verticality.

Of course, I'm not complaining about the decluttering of the map as a whole. From what I do remember of it from 1, it was a total clusterfuck of a map, and terrible to navigate. This is coming from someone who was new to the game, walking backwards from Splatoon 2 to Splatoon 1, but at the same time, I don't think it was completely just the perspective that was an issue. I think Flounder Heights was really just Like That in 1, and that 3 is looking to fix that in part.

I just wish it had fixed it without removing "Heights" from the name of the map. But, I suppose beggars can't be choosers. At the end of the day, it still looks like a fun map! Hopefully it'll still be a fun map to snipe people on when it officially releases.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE NEW GEAR

Attempt two at this! Tumblr fucking sucks as a website and completely undid the list I was working on, so I had to start from scratch. I am saving this time, because I was a fool not to. I am very upset, but we will pretend like I am not as we get into this. I'll be making a list of new & returning gear, in order from headgear, to clothing, to shoes.

[ 1 ] — I'm not certain on this one, but in the thumbnail of the trailer, the inkling holding the new charger is the same inkling that has the splattershot pro in the gameplay. The view of his outfit in the video is abysmal so I took it upon myself to look at the thumbnail instead. It strikes a resemblance to a piece of gear that was hinted at in the Splatoon 3 pre-release Halloween art.

[ 2 ] & [ 3 ] — These are just two shirts that I can't figure out the brand of. I've decided not to try to name them, since I don't really know anything about them at all. The white one seems to be a button-down (I think?), whereas the black one resembles a sweater to me. Either way, pictures are below.

[ 4 ] — Same situation as the last one, kind of. I can tell they're new for the most part, but they're just completely black. I want to say they're Kensa shoes just because there's a fuckton of Kensa gear coming in, but I can't tell, so I'm not gonna say it. The dualies player in the above images is wearing the shoes in question.

[ 5 ] — Meanwhile, these are very obviously Kensa shoes, they're just Kensa shoes I haven't encountered yet. I don't know what to name them because of this. Peep the white Kensa symbol in the middle.

ANNNNND that's all I've got for ya. I spent too long writing this. I spent too much time on this in general. Tomorrow they're gonna post something on Twitter (if it still exists) that fills in something I'm missing (the kits). I don't care anymore.

That's a lot of questions but let's go!

QUESTIONS FOR CREATORS

C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

Not really. Iberis-3 was a random OC and Young Wolf so it was 'prepared' for me as the gamer. I didn't expect Iberis to slap THAT MUCH. I didn't really care whether he fits or not. My style of storytelling is much different than the canonic one from Destiny 2. More comedy with a lot of sad stuff in life. (The black comedy, I guess). I just keep going, If I disliked something, I just get rid of this but I want to be sure it fits the main story of the game.

I didn't know what I did but it worked. Just some trust in myself in this rare moment.

J) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?

Yes, a lot. Usually, the Young Wolf is a character who looks like they forget how to speak but exactly knows how to punch someone's face. Silent OP character.

In the begging Iberis was supposed to have a much different character. More moody, mean shit without reason, who doesn't care about anyone. Boring Edge Lord. Luckily he changes to the current version.

My art style is not really similar to the canon one. I prefer cartoonish/comic style with too expressive faces and body language. Exos in the game are not really expressive (except Cayde cuz he was the only one Exo with eyebrows, srl. But y'know, It was Cayde, the very very special one).

I gave more human behavior to exo - crying, able to be drunk what is said in the lore-books they can't do. Even able to blush. Full realism and being 100% accurate to the canon is not my jam but looks like ppl don't blame and mock me for this so why not use this?

Also, my fake tooths, in my version, Exos have fake teeth 'cause It works better for me than the black whatever is it. So much stylization.

QUESTIONS FOR YOUR OCs

4) How easy is it to earn their trust?

It's a hard question. Usually, Iberis doesn't give his trust easily to anyone. His trauma in blueberry years, working with the Vanguards, and being the Famous Young Wolf learn him to not be open to others. But it doesn't mean Ibi cannot give trust someone.

Iberis-3 opens up when he has to deal with too strong emotions for him or he feels really bad and/or overwhelmed. He's very emotional but also he's a master at hiding this.

Also, he's able to give some trust if someone shares the same passion as him. Especially plants but painting and drawing too.

7) What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

Definitely his early years on the farm. I don't mean the farm from EDZ but one in the Last City. Iberis-3 in his blueberry years left the tower and he refused to be a guardian but it's a story for another time. The farm was his workplace but also his 1st home. Eddy, his friend let him live here when Iberis was homeless but later Ibi become a part of this family.

In this place, Iberis finally starts to feel accepted and comfortable with himself, that he's something more than an undead warrior where only his combat skills mean something.

This farm was ruined during Red War. Eddy and his family survived this hard time, unlucky except for Eddy's dad who died at the begging attack on the city.

After/During Red War Iberis become the new Young Wolf so it was meant back to his role of guardian. He wasn't able back to Eddy's family. He still misses them but he knows it never be the same now.

13) What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?

Iberis usually like to wear black, grey, or white t-shirts with prints. He doesn't say no to colorful ones but he can be picky about this. He doesn't like main bright colors.

Did he look good? In my humble opinion yes, but everyone has their own sense of fashion so...

Tricky question.

38) What memory do they revisit the most often?

Actually, there are two.

The 1st one is the death of Cayde. Iberis can't forgive himself because he wasn't able to save Cayde. The consequences are still with him until now (I mean especially Crow, the story for a different time too). Sometimes Iberis is wonder how it would be if Forsaken never happened. Maybe everything would be easier? We never knew the answer.

The 2nd one is related to Forsaken but that's more my story. Iberis after this broke up with Shiro. Both of them had personal problems after what happened in the Prison of Elders. Shiro has pissed off cuz Iberis goes alone to kill all barons and Uldren. Shiro was the last one of the hunter trio and lost many friends so losing the loved one was too much for him. Shiro chooses to be alone than lost another person in his life. He regrets this later.

On the other side, Iberis had to do this. We all know why so I don't think it's necessary to explain. Iberis is still back to these memories if he wanted or not.

Spoiler, not a spoiler. Ibi and Shiro are back to themself in the Season of Splicer. Both idiots had to grow up.

43) If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?

One of the biggest enemies in his life. Iberis is not a person who shows his feeling around people, romantic too. You'll almost never see how Iberis and Shiro show their feelings around others.

Iberis is unable to explain why he's gay. It's natural to him if we can use 'natural' when we talk about Exo. It's just the way he is. He likes other men and... That's it.

In his personal opinion asking him why he is gay is rude and nosy. Why do you even care? Usually, when someone asks him about this he just says he's gay and the end of the theme. Thank you, goodbye.

In some arguments the basic ideas and state of facts of the parties are so different that arguing would be pointless. Like what am I gonna do, explain that the whole thing is insane medical malpractice? Sry but even if the reason the guy was targeted is that he was j-- it's not gonna change the fact that he was a eugenicist. The concept of gender identity didn't even exist back then, but sure. Also like - my dude even if you accuse me of things that doesn't make them true. I know my views fairly well and if you even have to clarify that you wanted to accuse me of sth different but you cant bc I gave the definiton before, then like. I'm not taking a word you say seriously. If the worst thing doesn't work bc of that then I'm not taking you srls just bc u used the second worst thing you could think of.

The historical revisionism is wild. Tw were not targeted for their 'gender identity' but for the fact that they were -generally correctly- assumed to be gay men. That one reply killed me - they wrongly assumed he was a gay man and killed him for that. My dude the killing him was obv wrong but the assumption was correct. They want special victimhood so bad and for some reason it's prohibited to even fucking question whether any of their shit makes any sense. Literally parroting homophobic eugenicist bullshit and no idea. This will be a massive medical malpractice scandal in sth like 10-20 years and then they will come out like 'wow how could anyone think this was a good idea with those roots' and we can only hope history hasn't been revised so much that we can't find the truth anymore by that point. Taking a break from social media (read: Twitter) because it's affecting my mental health, becoming compulsive, and not in a good way, and find I just end up on another social media site, but at least this is a site where I don't actually *expect* interaction so I don't feel rejected when it doesn't happen.

I finished Mona Lisa Overdrive the other night, as in the last book of William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy (which may or may not have inspired the Buck-Tick album of the same name, depending on whether you believe Imai's unreliable memory or not). I don't actually think I had read it before - LOL, I think I conflated it with Zero History, the last book of the Pattern Recognition trilogy (I guess I assumed that Zero History would follow Count Zero?) so conflation of William Gibson is easy enough to do.

The most seriously awesome part of Mona Lisa Overdrive is when a thinly veiled Survival Research Laboratories sends their robots out to destroy the bad guys - sending me down another rabbithole trying to find recordings of their performances:

They link back to another obsesion, in that they performed a number of times with Einstürzende Neubauten, so that they keep turning up in Neubauten-related films and film festivals:

-The film about the Desolation Centre gigs in the Mojave Desert (did I review this for The Wire or did I just run into my editor there? Can't remember! I thought I reviewed something at that film festival) obviously featured them

-When I went to see Halber Mensch on the big screen (which unfortunately turned out to be only an extract and not the whole film) SRL were one of the other contemporary artists featured. I think in fact it was a segment of this same documentary

So in the Grand Spiderweb of All Things, yet again, more connections are interwoven!

I like intellectually know Marcus is like... a very capable Hunter and shit. On the other I can't help but imagine him just being the biggest self absorbed bastard who is WAY too smart for his own good and WAY too obsessed with sparrows and SRL.

It really was something getting a call from Didi to come down to part of the Hanger now because Kass was busy blowing up Marcus' workshop. The Ghost didn't even seem harrowed for the destruction she was explaining either.

Grey still booked it down there. When they arrived there was exploded sparrows everywhere and fire and Marcus and Kass having a yelling match over a burning pile of metal and scrap. Or maybe it was another new prototype from Marcus, hard to tell. Kass was positively radiant in fury and Grey had no idea what had happened.

They grabbed the fire extinguisher on the wall to start with. Grey wasn't Solar inclined and used it to wade through the scorched workshop. They were ignored by the two fighting parties and they weren't even sure what they were arguing about. Something serious to have made Kass so damn mad.

They sprayed Marcus across the back with the extinguisher making the skinny shit jump in fright and when he cleared the way they sprayed Kass down too. "Okay, that's enough," Grey said loudly before she could start yelling again. "What the fuck is going on here?"

"She lost her mind and started blowing up my work!" Marcus cried.

"He's a piece of shit," Kass pointed at Marcus accusingly.

"Just because you're insane doesn't make me-

Grey sprayed him in the face with the extinguisher. "Watch the mouth, bucko," they said cooly. Then they turned back to Kass who was wiping the extinguisher foam off her, "Whatever he did isn't worth burning down the Hanger. Cool your jets," they said.

Kass looked around at the fire absolutely starting to grow beyond the room and with a loud huff like a great puff of air all the fire went out. Which... was terrifying if Grey thought about it too long. They didn't know any Hunter who could do anything like that living or dead. A Warlock maybe. But a Hunter? Terrifying. "I am not sorry," she said, folding her arms. "Do not call me again, piece of shit," she told Marcus and stalked off.

That left Grey alone with Marcus covered in extinguisher foam. "What the fuck did you do, Ren?" Grey asked him.

"Nothing!"

"Doubtful. Didi, what'd he do?" they asked his Ghost.

"Kassandra brought him a nice Dawning gift and Marcus laughed at her," Didi said.

"Hey! That is not what happened," Marcus cried, furious.

"Is that what this is?" Grey kicked what had been between them. It was more or less some cloth that was nearly burned to a crisp.

"Yes," Didi said. "She got him a new cloak."

Grey blinked at Marcus. "And you laughed at her?"

"I did not," Marcus steamed.

"He said he thought it was a joke and was surprised Kassandra took this so seriously. He also didn't accept it."

Grey smiled dangerously at Marcus and the SRL racer looked nervous. "My sweet Kassy took your relationship serious and you laughed at her?" they said. "Is this a fucking joke to you, Ren?"

"What? It was just a fun winter league thing," Marcus said.

Grey narrowed their purple-gray eyes at him. Giving a new cloak or armor piece to your partner was a symbol you wanted to be serious with them. Lightless always said it was akin to 'marriage' but Guardians didn't get married. "She's right, you are an asshole," and they sprayed him in the face with the extinguisher again. "I see you bothering my baby girl again and I'll carve up that stupid face of yours," and for good measure threw the extinguisher at Marcus' chest where he caught it with a grunt. They walked off to go find Kass.
