Crumpled Up Pages: Old Captain Underpants WIPs #1-4
The First Epic Movie turned 5 earlier this month, and I dug through some old folders to write this post about it. In the process, I found some fanfic ideas I’d written down, fleshed out a little, and then forgot about for years. So while hyperfixation still has its grip on me (and while there’s still some extra activity in the tag), I figured I’d finally set these dust bunnies free!
A few ground rules before this deep dive descends:
When I say “fleshed out a little,” I’m putting major emphasis on the “little.” Some of these docs contain detailed notes and snippets of dialogue, but others are just a title and a vague one-sentence summary. I’ll be transparent about what each one contains, and try to fill in the bigger gaps by memory.
If you were around for the CU Fandom Renaissance of 2017, some of the ideas here might sound familiar, ‘cus I refitted them into fanart and headcanon dumps that actually got posted. I’ll link to those where they’re relevant.
These were all written and abandoned months before a CU show was even announced, so there’s no Epic Tales content or characters in here. Sorry if you were expecting any!
I’m splitting this into two posts cus it was getting and taking too long. This first part will cover the 4 simplest, fluffiest WIPs; the second one will tackle the 6 sadder, more character-heavy ones. And with character-heavy stuff comes spoilers for the movie and books — especially the books. If you haven’t read all 12, you’re probably wondering why anyone would care about Captain Underpants spoilers. First off, your loss; second off, BEWARE!
And finally: if you write fanfiction and feel inspired to use any of these ideas? You have my permission to do so! Seriously, steal anything here and put your own spin on them! I don’t care much for credit, but if these old things help fuel someone else’s creativity, I’d love to know!
That’s enough prep, probably. Plug your nose!
WIP #1: Inspiration
It can come from even the worst of places. ...And people, in this case. [Book!Verse, pre-Book 1.]
This document contains a long script, but no context; I can remember the gist though, so I’ll insert that in-between dialogue. Basically it’s third grade, and George and Harold are in detention again. They cheat to fill up the blackboards like usual, but they’re too bummed out to start a comic afterwards. George sits around stewing in his frustration while Harold angry-scribbles Mr. Krupp yelling.
“...Why does he hate us so much, George?”
“I dunno. Maybe ‘cause he can’t handle our coolness? …Nice drawing, by the way.”
“Thanks. …It’s making me sad just lookin’ at it, though.”
“Yeah, me too. …I wonder what he’d look like if he smiled.”
“...?”
“...I mean, like, a real smile, not an I’ve-got-you-now smile.”
“Oh. Hmmm…”
Harold erases Krupp’s wide yelling mouth and draws a goofy smile in its place.
“Aw, man, now it’s just creepy.”
“Darn.”
The boys keep editing the drawing until it stops being creepy and starts being funny. George erases Krupp’s toupee, remembering the time they stole it and the teachers couldn’t take him seriously without it. Harold draws one of his office curtains around his neck, adding more color and kinetic energy. Soon they’re struggling not to laugh out loud, but they manage to calm down… until George gets an idea that takes the sketch from great to legendary.
“Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Remember what my pop said about Superman yesterday?”
“That he looks like… DUDE. Duuuuuude.”
Harold redraws Krupp’s entire lower body so he’s only wearing underwear. Then with a flourish, he adds the finishing touch – two dots on his chest – and they both lose it. All their laughter finally prompts the real Krupp to check on them, and predictably, he rips up the drawing. It upsets the boys in the moment, but they’re still in much higher spirits than before, and brainstorm a new comic about their new creation as they skateboard home.
“You think we should make his origin issue first?”
“Naw, let’s get right to the action! His outfit’s already the perfect hook – finally, a superhero who actually does fly around in his underwear!”
“Yeah, and he could fight with Wedgie Power!”
God, rediscovering this gave me the most uncontrollable grin. From the date it was last opened, I think this fic was meant for September 1st, 2017 (Book 1’s 20th anniversary), and I gave up after missing it. For shame, 2017!me. For shame.
——————————————————————————————————
WIP #2: Untitled Boomer One-shot
Harold won’t admit it, but he’d slay a dragon for his little sister. [Book!Verse but only cus this scene was deleted and is thus dubiously canon]
This doc’s nothing but notes, so I’ll paraphrase the plot: Ms. Hutchins takes Heidi and Harold to Boomer the Purple Dragon: Live! Harold was gonna stay with the Beards but they cancelled last minute, and he’s grumpy about it the whole time. When the show ends, kids gather in front of the stage to meet Boomer; Ms. Hutchins suddenly gets an important call, and makes Harold walk Heidi up there.
But the dragon’s mascot suit is big up close for a 6-year-old, and Heidi gets so scared she starts crying. She’s rooted to the spot and waves her arms in panic, but “Boomer” thinks she wants a hug and waddles closer and closer... until Harold kicks him in the groin. Their mom understandably grounds him for it, but Heidi is grateful and calls him her hero :)
This one was based on the classic “kid hits mascot in the weak spot” genre of AFV, but also on an early memory of mine! My sister and I loved Arthur as babies, so our mom took us to see this thing. The characters suddenly being real (and huge) was so upsetting that we scream-cried until she took us home early. (Speaking of Arthur, it’s a shame Heidi’s never really done anything in canon, I can see her having big DW energy.)

WIP #3: When Worlds Collide
It was less “love at first sight” and more “love at first squawk.” [Book!Verse, Book 7.]
A quick refresher: George told Harold to take Crackers back to dinosaur times, but he left her in the treehouse with Sulu instead. Later in the book, they’re shown snuggling in their sleep 🥺🥺 Anyway, this fic was about what they got up to in between! It’s actually the most complete of the lot, but only because it’s so short and simple.
It opens with Harold introducing them to each other, leaving out some treats for them (hamster food for Sulu, crackers for Crackers), then telling them to play nice until he comes back. They do not. Crackers pulls a Thunderclap the moment Harold leaves, Sulu karate-chops her throat until she spits him out, and they wreck half the treehouse in the ensuing chase.
Eventually they settle for standing in opposite corners and hissing at each other. Then Sulu… *squints* …records Crackers’ hisses with his bionic ears and plays them back so they can communicate? …Yeah, okay, why not. The outline ends after this sudden development; I’m guessing they talk things out and start to catch feels, before settling in to sleep. Anyway here’s the few sentences I actually wrote out:
Harold opened the door, Sulu got on the floor, and in walked the curious dinosaur.
[…] As predator and prey faced off, a little boy and his mother happened to be walking down Vine Street. “Mommy,” said the little boy, “I can hear a bionic hamster and a pterodactyl fighting in that treehouse!”
“Oh, please,” his mother scoffed. “How do you even know what that would sound like?”
The boy considered pointing out the CHOMPs, SQUEAKs, and SQUAAAWKs emanating from the tree in big blocky letters, but decided it wasn’t quite worth the trouble.
The doc ends with a reminder to not refer to Crackers with any pronouns until the two pets can understand each other. Also I was gonna title this after a Tony Orlando and Dawn song as foreshadowing, but I couldn’t choose one, so instead I went with this Spongebob song lol.
——————————————————————————————————
WIP #4: Untitled Tommy One-shot
The school’s been near bully-free ever since Treehouse Comix Inc. was formed. Tommy reflects on this from the safety of his locker. [Movie!Verse with a hint of Book 9. CW: discussion of bullying.]
A Kid I Never Named knocks on Tommy’s locker and offers to trade Pilkeymon. They have to be sneaky, because it’s the 90′s and they have to slip a Link Cable through the locker vents without being spotted.
As they trade, the other kid asks Tommy why he hides all the time. He explains that it’s a habit from when Kipper Krupp terrorized the halls. But Kipper left four years ago, and the legend of Wedgie Magee has kept other bullies at bay ever since; the other kid points this out and asks why he still hides. This led into “a somber discussion on adverse school experiences and the long-lasting coping mechanisms they cause” (exact words from the doc). Unfortunately 2017!me never wrote any dialogue, and I’m mad at her for that.
Trivia drop! I used the Pilkeymon joke a few times at @treehouseblogsinc, but it’s way older than that, and also not mine: Pilkey.com used to have a coloring game named Pilkeymon’s Paintbox. It even had art of Dav’s old spiky-haired avatar with Pikachu ears! There’s no trace of it on the Internet anymore, but I swear I’m not making this up.
I left a note here to add that Tommy has glow-in-the-dark stickers in his locker, which ended up in this headcanon dump. There’s also a list of last names I came up with for him but never chose between: Chambers, Lakatos (which I shared once here), and Lockenspiel. Right now I’m leaning towards the last one, it rolls nicely off the tongue.
——————————————————————————————————
That’s it for now! Not gonna lie, I’m still nervous about posting the other 6 WIPs. Most of them deal with Book 12, and all the tough subjects that that entails. But hey, I made this bed, and by God am I gonna lie in it. Thanks for reading so far!

Linzin Week 2021: Day 3 - Stargazing (part 3)
WIP Pre-Canon AU Lin x Tenzin Rating: Eventual M To the Linzin week 2021 organizers: Is it fine to post a WIP - a serialized contribution? Will post it in AO3 as well once completed ✌🏽 Read part 1 here.
Lin was looking forward to a quiet soak in the bath. She figured it was late at night enough that Tenzin would have retired to bed.
Upon opening the door, smoke wafted to her face. Something smelled… burned, she thought while coughing.
“Lin, is that you?” Tenzin’s voice came from the balcony.
“What happened?” Lin fanned away the smoke as she to him.
Tenzin was slouched on the outdoor chair, bottle of beer in hand. “I attempted to cook.” Tenzin’s face was pinched.
“Aw, you were supposed to have a dinner date?” She leaned on the doorway. “Scared the poor girl away?”
There was a strange look on the airbender’s face. “No…she didn’t show up.”
“I’m sorry.” She said and realized she was sincere about it. She pointed to him and waved to the still dissipating smoke. “Didn’t think to use airbending?”
“Oh.” Tenzin’s eyebrows furrowed. “To be honest, I wasn’t thinking straight.” Then he took a swig off the beer bottle.
Ah, it was that kind of night.
By all appearances, the airbender was a stickler for air nomad tradition. However, his parents both agreed to raised him and his siblings in a more liberal way. This resulted in the siblings to adapt any practices of their parents’ heritage into the quickly modernizing society.
And that includes the occasional alcoholic drink for this airbending master.
“How was work? A little bit late, isn’t it?”
“Terrible.” Lin slumped into the opposite garden chair and grabbed the bottle off Tenzin’s hand. “One of the detectives mucked up the paperwork. His sergeant and I had to work double time to meet the deadline for the indictment.” She took a gulp from the bottle before giving it back.
There was a relief in his expression that puzzled her.
“That’s grea- terrible indeed.”
She rolled her eyes. “Sarcasm still does not suit you, airhead.”
Tenzin continued to punctuate the otherwise quiet night air with comments about his day and questions about Lin’s.
They took turns from the bottle until Tenzin finished the last swallow. “This is nice.”
“Hmmm?”
“We haven’t had this long a conversation since... I don’t remember when.”
Huh.
Tenzin gestured to get more beer and she nodded.
She sat back, scratching her arm as she thought.
That was sad, in reality.
But nice. No expectations. Reverting to their old habits, their old patterns to before they became a couple.
She squinted.
That had been so long ago.
“Say, do you want to go up?” Tenzin held two bottles of bear, cold with icy condensation at its surface.
“I don’t see why not.” Lin stretched, took one bottle of beer then followed Tenzin to the rooftop.
There was no actual furniture on the rooftop, but there were some wooden crates that they had fashions into makeshift seats and tables.
Pulling up a crate, Lin remembered why they selected this apartment.
It was not in the more glamorous districts in the city. It was quite close to the suburbs, to be honest. That was something they both liked to have maybe in the future, a quaint quiet home in the suburbs. Until then, this is the closest they could get.
And well, they took it on because the apartment unit was at the top floor with easy access to the rooftop.
Tenzin settled little ways to the side, about two crates away from her.
She popped open both of their bottles.
“There isn’t a lot of stars tonight.”
A glance at Tenzin revealed he was observing the sky.
Lin simply shrugged. She knew him well enough to know that a Tenzin who has had alcohol is a talkative Tenzin.
“We were discussing about oral tradition earlier in class. One of the students shared about the Earth Kingdom superstition that you can actually use the stars to find your soulmate.” Tenzin hunched on his knees, picking at the label of the bottle. “Do you believe any of that?”
“Believe what?” She decided to humor him.
“Soulmates.” He replied quietly, not meeting her gaze.
“Soulmates…” Lin took a gulp of beer first, considering her words. “Can’t say I do.”
The airbender now turned to her. In his haste, his almost full bottle had liquid swished on the floor. “Why not?”
“I mean, look at people we grew up with,” Lin grimaced, using her fingers to count. “Uncle Sokka didn’t really settle down, did he? Was his soulmate the moon spirit? We can never know.” She took a tip and pointed out another finger. “My mom – we don’t even have to explain that further -.”
“But doesn’t the thought of someone out there to be with you sound, well, reassuring?”
“Not really. Sounds like a load of excuses not to put effort into a relationship since you knew from the get-go, you’re for each other.”
“So, you really don’t believe in soulmates?” Tenzin asked slowly.
“Pffft no, of course not. Soulmates? Oh, come on.” Lin decided a change in topic was needed as the current conversation was about to get maudlin.
 ---
He tore off the label of the bottle.
But, I do.
 ***
As with any of their annual vacations, aside from a day or two spent with the entire group, everyone was pretty much left to their own devices.
This made their farce a bit easier to pull off.
Tenzin decided early on to spend most of the time in their room. Lin was barely there anyway so it work.
Tock-tock-tock.
“I know you’re in there.”
Knowing that his brother will not leave until he acknowledged him, Tenzin opened the door.
Bumi entered without waiting to be invited in, hands behind his back. He made a face on the papers sprawled on the table and most of the other surfaces in the cabin room. “Come now, Tenzin – there’s a reason why it’s a vacation.”
“I need to get this done.” It was a weak argument, and he knew it.
Bumi knew it.
“We’ve seen more of Lin than you in the past few days. So that means you haven’t had a lot of couple time either.”
“We see each other all the time.” Tenzin prevaricated. Technically, they did occasionally cross paths at work.
 ---
Bumi rolled his eyes. “Sure – at work, eh? Well, if I can’t bring you out to the party – I’ll bring it here until to agree to get out.” He brought out his ammunition. “Uncle Sokka’s personal brew!”
Tenzin struggled to catch the tall suspicious (yet unfortunately familiar) bottle.
“I’m not drinking, Bumi.”
“Oh yes, you are.” He swiped the papers off the couch and plunked himself on it.
He did not really have any other agenda other than to get Tenzin relaxed enough to join them for tonight’s excursion.
Bumi grinned as his baby brother finally popped open his bottle.
 ---
But, whoo boy, a Tipsy Tenzin was a Talkative Tenzin.
 ---
“You’ve broken up for that long?! Spirits, Tenzin! Why didn’t you think to tell me or anyone?
“Look, I knew you were proposing to Izumi this week. We didn’t want to take that away from you.”
“Still.” Bumi pondered a bit. Maybe his brother needs a wingman now? “Do you want me to bring you over with boys, when we’re over at Republic City? We can introduce you or better yet, we can go around town now and -.”
“No, thank you, Bumi.”
“Don’t you still live together?”
“Yes.”
Are you stupid? “How is that going for you?”
“It’s fine. We’re now glorified roommates. It still gives me privacy from our parents, you know. And a bit of a sanctuary. And it’s fine. We do our own thing and it’s fine.”
“Bro, you said it’s fine too many times.”
“Lin’s totally fine with it.” A beat. “She’s a big girl, she can take care of herself. It’s not like she’d like to move back to their old house either.”
Bumi frowned but agreed.“To be fair – no one asked us about our relationship so we haven’t been lying.”
“Yes, you’ve been omitting the truth. I see you’re fitting really well in city hall, councilman.” Bumi patted him on the back.
 ---
Clunk.
“Oh, I’m sorry – did I wake you?”
The whiff of air that wafted towards him smelt of smoke, sweat, the odd smell of old alcohol, and something distinctly Lin.
“No, I was doing –.” His eyes scanned quickly the bedside table. “Some light reading.” He put up the pamphlet. “You didn’t disturb me.” He saw the clock say it was three in the morning.
“Sorry,” Lin was quickly pulling out clothes from her side of the cabinet. “Don’t worry – I’ll just take a quick shower and try not make a lot of noise. I’ll head on to bed too.”
Tenzin turned to his side of the bed, unwilling to think of what (or who, he thought distastefully) Lin might have been doing.
Not that she wasn’t in the position to do so. Of course, she was well within in her rights to do so.
Maybe telling Bumi wasn’t the smartest idea. True, he promised to keep it to himself.
Rather, Tenzin knew Bumi and the rest had gotten back to their accommodations a couple of hours earlier (judging by the racket when they were trudging nearby).
Usually, Bumi would have insisted to see to it that all of their party would have gone home together. But then again, knowing that Lin was now single, he probably did not mind if Lin had gone off on her own…
The sounds of the shower from the en suite can be heard.
Tenzin pressed his palms to his eyes.
He told Bumi it was fine.
Who was he kidding – it wasn’t fine. He wasn’t fine.
And, unfortunately, he didn’t know what to do about it since only one-half of the broken-up couple did not seem to be fine.

Content Tag Game
thank you @inkofyoongi for the tag and also bless you for the Poetica teaser I'm crying already!!! Yoongi and y/n kissing oh my heart.
1. what fandoms have you written for (but do not currently)? Harry Potter and Attack on Titan
2. what fandoms are you currently writing for? BTS
3. how long have you been writing? Writing online, I wrote HP ff when I was a preteen. Oh god it was horrible, it was a lot of silly meme worthy stuff, but that was half the fun in the HP fandom back in the day, then years later I tried to write one AOT ff and it did not do well lol, I think I maybe got two comments one of them being really mean lol and I gave up and left my story unfinished and moved on from ff (funnily enough I based a scene in one of my HOAL chapters off of it and no complaints so ha!...lol.) Then a friend bought me a dream journal, and I fell back in love with writing again after HOAL 🥰
4. on which platforms do you post your stories? I have a Wattpad and I just created an Ao3 to crosspost.
5. what is your favourite genre to write? Angst, I guess I am just a masochist.
6. are you a pantser or a planner? Well I am definitely not a planner, so I guess I'm a pantser lol. I rather just write the story instead of planning. I vaguely know the endings, the problem is most of my stories start out as dreams, and what usually happens in dreams??? That's right, you wake up BEFORE the ending. So then I have the arduous task of figuring out what else is supposed to happen lol, I feel like if I just write it out it will somehow magically come together in the end, planning is unnecessary stress I don't need lol.
7. one shot or multi-chapter? You know I really admire one shot writers, but I am just not built like that...
8. what is the perfect chapter length in your opinion? I would say as a writer and what I also prefer reading, between 6k and 10k is the sweet spot.
9. what is your longest published story? is it complete? Handshakes of a Lifetime is almost at 55k words 👀 and I would say it's half way done?
10. which story did you enjoy working on the most? I really love writing HOAL, some of the chapters were very therapeutic to write 🥲. During the beginning chapters I was going through a lot of chronic pain and there were long stretches where I was so engrossed I forgot about the pain which if you've ever suffered from chronic illness, is like finding a raft in the middle of the ocean. But also Run Run Run made me hysterically laugh for hours (the visuals in my head are something else man), I already know I am going to have so much fun finishing that story.
11. favourite request you’ve written and why? I don’t take requests, however there have been times when I requested myself to write lol. Instead of word vomiting all over my blog and oversharing to you guys who probably do not want to listen to my ugly problems, I said, hey, why not just take all that pain and channel it into a story instead? Because that's why people follow me after all and I'm a woman of the people lol, and that's how Blue and Grey was written. It's short and simple, and it's one of my favorite stories I've ever written.
12. are there reocurring themes in your stories? Hmmm pain lol, whether it be pleasurable pain or not lol. Again, my stories start out as dreams, so they are pretty random. I do notice there's a lot of “escaping”, that might just be a dream thing idk.
13. current number of wips? HOAL, C!HOC, RRR, BV:ITS, a cross over fandom story I am so excited for and will write before the year is up (I just somehow need to become a smarter writer before then), a cute theme story I want to release on Halloween, 6 angsty one shots for each member (Namjoon's is already written), and an unnamed invasion AU story that I hope will see the light of day, but I have so many questions as to what is going on and have to figure out those answers before I post it (also I don't know know if I should add another ongoing fic and do that to myself lol)
14. three things you have noticed about your own writing? I love cliff hangers, they are just so much fun, I truly can't help myself. I also can't help putting a hopeful spin on my writing, even when I think I shouldn't, the story would be more meaningful if I didn't, but I am a hopeless romantic so sue me. And even if my stories are very fantasy driven, I try to be as realistic as possible, especially during smut scenes, I need realism, I don't like writing unrealistic sex, so sorry if it’s not that fantastical sometimes, I try to make it up in story pacing 🥲🥲.
15. a quote you like from a published story. Chapter 4 of HOAL is full of sentences I am proud of lol. "...a storm so final in its answer, it must be controlled by the Grim Reaper himself." and "...rain droplets clash against the ocean, open like umbrellas, and the sea throws back tiny gems of water." I really tried to portray that calm before the storm feeling throughout the chapter.
16. a quote from an unpublished story. Here is a part of the unnamed story, "Namjoon never came back. You take out your phone, pull up Namjoon’s number. You don’t have a pen or pencil, and you’ve never been good at memorization. But this time you have to, you must remember the ten numbers as if your life depended on it, because you’re starting to feel like it might."
17. a space for you to say something to your readers. My dreams had been haunting me for awhile until I finally said, "okay, let me just try, I'll just try to and see if this whole writing thing will work for me." Sometimes you have thoughts that you just need to scream out into the world before they consume you and the fact that people are hearing me, and being moved in even the littlest of ways by my stories lifts the pressure off my shoulders just a bit every day. A lot of my stories are anonymous love letters to people in my life, memories I want to preserve and transform into stories people can enjoy, happy and painful, for better or for worse. So to my readers, thank you for enjoying my stories, for hearing me. ❤️
I tag: @cloudteawrites @bangtangalicious @smasmashin @alpacaparkaseok @deepdarkdelights @btsaudge @koosbabygrl and any other writer who wants to share! 💕

2021 Fic Year in Review
@you-are-so-much-better-than-that tagged me and now I’m finally able to answer on my laptop haha!
Total Number Of Completed Works: Total total 78 (holy crap 78??!)
Total Word Count:  376,427  posted words this year
Fandoms I’ve Written In: Good Omens and Shameless
Looking Back, Did You Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected?: I didn’t get into Shameless til June/July of 2021, I figured I’d be writing some more for Good Omens. Not as much as I have for Shameless though. Gallavich just gripped me tight and 47 fics later it hasn’t let go since.
What’s Your Own Favorite Story Of The Year?: Oh crap that’s a hard one. I love them all for different reasons. My little one-shots I love because they challenged me to condense the words I wanted to spray out onto the page.
My WIPs and longer ones I love because I can go on and on lamenting about the feeling of butterflies and blushes and tingling fingertips.
Did You Take Any Writing Risks This Year?: gotta steal @you-are-so-much-better-than-that‘s answer of “ Writing. Posting. It’s all a risk. “
I also wrote more intimate/smutty bits that I don’t usually do, but with Ian and Mickey how could I not?
Do You Have Any Fanfic Or Profic Goals For The New Year?: Reading wise I want to read Cooperative Gameplay, I have heard so many good things, but I haven’t read it yet.
Writing wise I have two long multichapter fics that I want to write that I’ve been wanting to do since... I dunno summer I suspect. I have it all in my head but I haven’t had the chance to start either yet.
Also finishing my WIPS!
Most Popular Story Of The Year?: Kudos: The Marks We Share Upon Our Skin (Shameless)
Hits: The Sweetest Thing in Life is Love (Good Omens)
Story Of Mine Most Under-Appreciated By The Universe, In My Opinion:
Off the top of my head, Time To Yank The Skeletons Out, It may be because I was arguing with someone about Mickey protecting Mandy from Ian in Season 1 VS Mickey not doing shit when Terry got her pregnant in season 2/3 (I can’t remember). I wrote that with such anger and spite to get justice for Mickey and it just kinda flopped. But I mainly write to get the ideas out of my head and out in the world.
Secret Santa because it’s so cute and fluffy and soft with Christmas magic. As well Mickey getting along and being cool with old people.
What are Brother’s For? Bonding with Mickey and Carl, I had been wanting to do one with Mickey being dyslexic but hadn’t had a chance until I was rewatching an episode and realized that Carl probably was too. And I love those two so much.
Most Fun Story To Write: Hmmm well the funniest stories with them is Paint Me Like One of Your French Girls, and Can We Skip To The Good Stuff?
For Paint Me I was writing it at work and was trying to find reference pictures for Mickey’s nude poses and I googled “Male model on chaise lounge reference photos” and “chaise lounge modelling reference poses” and almost got some straight up naked pictures on my work computer, Luckily I could minimize it quickly enough before anyone saw.
For Good Stuff, I had been googling what different crimes you would commit to be sentenced to federal prison and had scribbled some down on a sticky note and it said “drugs, guns, murder” and I had left the sticky note at my computer and a coworker found it and was like.... what the fuck.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Hmm probably The Difference Between Buoyancy and Sinking and I Wanna Feel Something Again. I was in my own mental slump when I wrote Ian in his and just projected everything onto him.
Biggest Disappointment: None. I am my own intended audience so I write what I want, and the fact that other people like what I write is always a surprise and a blessing.
Biggest Surprise: Gallavich gripping around my heart so tightly. I don’t know what it is, I can relate to both Ian and Mickey in different ways. But their love just makes me feel so many different emotions, maybe that’s why because I was just bobbing around lost so much and then I saw a couple tiktoks featuring wedding planning Gallavich and thought, hey they are funny I should watch this show. And then feeling all the emotions again at full force.
My Favorite Part Of Fandom This Year: All the new friends I’ve made in the fandom, how much of a close knit group we are. Especially how I joined into the fandom. I had been scrolling tiktok and kept seeing one user posting about this couple so much, funny things too and I messaged her one day and she told me about Shameless and I binged it in like a week or two. Now she and I are super close and we’re always chatting and sending each other different pictures or videos or fics. I can message her any time of day and be crying about something cute that Ian or Mickey did and she would 100% get it right away.
This fandom in general, the friends I’ve made in it, the people I’ve worked with, the words I’ve read... I feel that it’s brightened my life in a way I wasn’t expecting.
I’ll tag: @iansfreckles @howlinchickhowl @dodgerbear84 @mishervellous
I have subscriptions to their fics and I sob and smile with each update and reread.

hey stitch :) I got a few for the fanfic writer asks! #6, 16, 37, and 45.
Hi Thea! :D Hope all is well, and thank you for the ask! Let's answer some questions :)
6. Do you write on your phone/laptop/paper/something else?
I usually write on my laptop, phone, or iPad. Laptop primarily though. I have a lot of different docs for my WIPs and it's somewhat disorganized, so it's just easier to see and work on my laptop. My phone and iPad great in a pinch, but it just takes a while for things to load because almost every doc I have is like... 100 pages LOL.
16. A fic you're very proud of?
Hmmm, probably Taang One Shots! I've written a lot of different things, but this work is supposed to embody stories all within a single AU, and the goal is to have a story a week for it. So far, I've met that goal, and we're sort of getting close to the end! Crazy. I am getting a little worried for the tail end because the original story ideas don't really speak to me (also why I keep asking people to send me ideas haha!) But, this is my first work I've published, and I want to complete it and see it through to the end!
37. Any writing rituals?
I wouldn't say that I do! I write when I can and need to, and when I have ideas! I try to write something everyday, and the best way I get through that is through some timed writing challenges. Keeps me focused for short periods of time until I feel happy with my small bits of progress!
45. A fic you look forward to writing in the future?
Lots of things! For now, I'm still very into writing for ATLA, but maybe one day I'll branch out. But next year, I will probably have another writing project to hold myself to. I'm thinking of venturing into long fics that are much more consecutive in flow as opposed to how I currently write. So, that kind of project could be for any of my main ATLA ships, and I think one that would be super interesting is the Taang post ATLA long fic. I still have to figure out how I want to do it, because there are so many different ways to take it! Perhaps once I'm done with Taang One Shots, I'll take a month or so to create a game plan :)
Okay, I think those are all the questions! Thank you again for the ask, G, and I hope you have a great day! :D
......
Send me asks about writing! :)

Ok! I could swear someone other than just @howlinchickhowl tagged me in this but a) I have a number of tags I've been slow to get to and b) I can't find it? I went back to August. Let's hope I'm just wrong... but if I'm not -- 😬 sorry!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Six
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
186,361
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
It's gonna be all the ones that aren't Unsent, but let's go check...
Bound
Risk
Stages
Reward
Offspring
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. Usually much better than I have recently, though I did a big push to catch up the other day and was a bit appalled with myself. I've just... always replied to comments. First of all, I like them, so I want to respond and let people know that... but also I often quite sincerely want to say something about what people said.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Hmmm. Unsent, probably. (glances up at kudos count....🧐) But look, Unsent is a season eight fill-in fic. It is not my fault it's a bummer.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Tonally, they're all pretty similar... I think I'll go with Offspring here, though, because it suggests a few things might happen that didn't happen in canon and which I do think would add greatly to Mickey's happiness. Mostly within the realm of him tending to his mental health.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I have never once written a crossover. I'm not even sure I've read one.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not in this fandom!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Enough to know that I am an M and not an E.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Don't think so! But someone did alert me to the fact that one of my metas turned up on Reddit, which is weird because.... metas don't read like Reddit posts at all.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Sincerely? Probably this one. Which is to say, Gallavich.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Argh. It's in another fandom and it won't ever be finished, but. If you know, you know.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I have been told it's keeping the characters in character. I think I'm also pretty good with point-of-view.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Structure... trying to fit it all in, basically. I only JUST figured out something I could do with the next chapter of Bound to make reasonably smooth going and while that's very exciting it took a minute, didn't it?
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Well, I think it's messy and you really want a native speaker to clear it for you. In a prior fanfic writing life I had a story with a ton of travel in it, so it had a little Greek, a little Italian and a little Russian, but I stuck to establish phrases and the characters mostly didn't speak the language well. I feel like you can tell when the writer has a grasp, even if you don't speak the language. The only non-English language I have any sense of is French and somehow I've ever used that one.
(I do not have a good sense of French. I have the level of French you absorb by living in Canada.)
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Oh, God.
General Hospital. And you know what? There are similarities! But never will I get to make jokes about the time the Milkoviches tried to control the weather with the world's largest diamond. (I'm so out of the loop with that show now, but... It think it was a diamond? It was called the Ice Princess. I remember that much.)
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I write for the ones I have to write for and that's ... the only ones I want to write for, really. Like I enjoyed the heck out of all the ColdFlash fanfic I read in 2019 but I do not think there's a single idea in my head for those two.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Mmmm. Well. Shoutout to my finished 225 chapter General Hospital fanfic epic. Mostly because it's 225 chapters and it's finished.
It's maybe Bound. It tends to be whatever I'm currently working on.

interview about writing processes
Hey Lady Sif,
thank you for taking time for us and agreeing to answer our interview questions.
Since this was of short notice we decided to change the deadline to June 19.
We hope the time frame suits you.
Here are our questions:
Can you shortly describe us your writing history? How did you start off? How did you come across fanfiction?
Do you have a writing philosophy that helps you overcome challenges in writing?
Could you describe your writing environment? (workplace, prefered writing tools, fandom discourse, discourse with friends)
What inspires you to write and post in and for a fandom? What triggers your headcanons? Does your educational background influence your writing?
In how far does your fandom experience influence your writing?
In how far do you work with others to create fan content? And what ideas do you integrate in your writing?
Are there certain steps you take/decisions you make when/before responding to a post/prompt?
When and why did you decide to host writing events like your fake fics event? What was the purpose and how did you approach the title prompts?
How would you describe the difference between writing alone and writing spontaneously with others (first in creating fan theories and headcanons and second in creating fanfiction)?
Do you think knowing that others read and can comment on your texts subconsciously influences your writing?
What motivated you to create a story where your readers can decide for an ending (name)?
Is there anything else you consider important in your writing process that you would like to tell us?
Thanks again for your time and effort, we are very much looking forward to your answers!
If you’re interested we’ll keep you updated on our findings.
Kind regards, Dana and Helena
----
Can you shortly describe us your writing history? How did you start off? How did you come across fanfiction?
I started writing when I was very young! I was a huge reader, and even before I was writing stuff down I was a storyteller. It’s a really important part of my family & how we communicate with each others and others.
My first experience with fanfiction was when I was,, 7 or 8? That sounds about right. I hand wrote a fanfiction called “ShoppingCats” which something between warrior cats and Cats vs Dogs, but also made primarily of my OCs (+ a handful of warriors characters I liked). I still have most of it, it’s sitting in my desk drawer in it’s original binder, since my mother saved it.
I came across fandom spaces / online fanfiction in 2012 with fanfiction.net, and published my first fanfiction in 2013 (under Rosae-Sif on fanfiction.net). I’ve taken breaks as my interests changed & life got chaotic, but I’ve always enjoyed retelling stories that I hear and changing them to suit me more / explore new themes, so I’ve stuck with it after all this time.
Do you have a writing philosophy that helps you overcome challenges in writing?
Yes! I write for myself above all else. It’s fun to write stuff for other people sometimes, and I like getting feedback and what not, but I never let that be the focus of my writing. I always try to write what I want to be reading, so when I go back and reread what I’ve written, more often than not I find I’ve produced something that makes me happy, and that helps keep me going when a lot of other things couldn’t.
Could you describe your writing environment? (workplace, prefered writing tools, fandom discourse, discourse with friends)
Uhhh, I don’t really have any one set thing. I mostly write on my laptop, sometimes I use a notebook + pen. I have 5$ fountain pen that I got that I really love when I have writer’s block.
I think the most consistent “workplace” for me is actually discord/my friends. Almost all of my AUs/fics/ideas start as me storytelling (either typing things out or out loud) to someone else. That’s where the spark comes from, and then that slowly is refined through several iterations until I have something I like.
I really like taking long walks with headphones & nobody else around. That’s when a lot of the very early forms of my favorite ideas come to me. It’s a key part of my writing process the few times I get stuck on stuff too. I just go walk till I figure it out.
I don’t really get involved in discourse much. I like debating people, but I try to stay away from destructive stuff and just have my own fun corner where I create things. I’m in fandom for fun, and I refuse to let me experience be tainted by people who try to turn it into Discourse Central.
What inspires you to write and post in and for a fandom? What triggers your headcanons? Does your educational background influence your writing?
As I mentioned before, I write and post primarily for myself! I have a lot of ideas in my head all the time, and things I want to see, so I create those things and then put them here. It’s fun when other people interact with me + add onto my ideas + create things in response!
My headcanons are usually just kinda,,,, coming out of my brain. I think it’s just how I am. I have a question or a thought and I start looking into it and before I know it, a whole new thing has come out of it.
I think my family actually influenced a lot of my writing style more than anything else. I mean, I was homeschooled for a long time, and my parents were very encouraging of whatever weird projects I was creating (my dad once even let me cut down and drag actual brambles into the basement to create a warriors style fort). I was allowed to dress however I wanted (during high school I worn nothing but PJ pants b/c they were most comfy for me, and also I had/have several capes that I would rotate through), I was allowed to dye my hair (still do! it’s current a side shave in red + purple + blue!), and I was encouraged to just,,, be weird and happy. I think that shows in how I write. I pursue the ideas I want to go after, I indulge myself, I commit to thinks and I focus more on what I want to write rather than what I feel I should write.
That being said, a lot of science nerding that comes out in my writing is def from my educational background. I’ve got a bachelors and stuff. I did take some writing classes, but to be honest, I think my fanfiction experience influenced those a lot more than they influenced my fanfiction (years and years of writing constantly and quickly paid off in college where I would BS papers the night before and get top marks on it).
In how far does your fandom experience influence your writing?
Hmm, I don’t think it does that much? I mean, for the BNHA fandom in particular, I think that seeing all the cool content + ideas other people create really keeps my brain chugging along and creating new things, and god, having seen people make fanart and fanfiction for my stories has been one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced, but I don’t think that’s really changed how I’m writing.
At my core, I’m still doing the same thing my 8 year old self was doing with her pencil and that binder full of paper. I take the strange thoughts out of my head, and I follow them onto the paper until I create something that makes me happy.
I’ve had some negative experiences of course. I mean, everyone does. They’ve all been fairly minor, mostly just people trying to tell me I’m wrong about stuff that’s either in an AU that’s already not supposed to be canon, or stuff I’m right about. Most of the time it’s just annoying. Sometimes it’s concerning. I ignore or delete the annoying stuff, I don’t want to give it any of my time or attention.
The concerning stuff I try to reply to. It’s been rare, but sometimes I get comments on certain fics trying to tell me what’s being depicted in my fic isn’t abusive when it absolutely is. I try to correct that and link to resources when I do get that. I usually don’t get a reply, but a few times I’ve had people realize that what they thought was normal was actually abusive behavior. I’m happy that I’m able to help people come to that realization.
In how far do you work with others to create fan content? And what ideas do you integrate in your writing?
Hmmm, I’ll be honest, I’m not quite sure how to answer this one. I don’t exactly work with others when creating my fan content? All of my writing (save one RP collab homestuck fic from ages ago) is done by me exclusively, and most my ideas are also mostly from my own brain. Although I will say one exception to that is @windschildfanfictionwriter whose an amazing bnha writer I chat with fairly frequently when I need help figuring something out.
It’s less of “working” with people, and more discussing things/ideas, and being excited about stuff. Sometimes literally all I need is someone to be my rubber duck while I talk about an idea for 2-3 hours to get it solidified. People in my discord server often help me by betaing (editing/reviewing) my wips. My adhd means I often make weird mistakes, and they’re wonderful at helping me catch that.
As for ideas I pull into my writing, it’s hard to pick out specific ones. I think I kinda create + absorb + integrate lots of stuff at once. A lot of the times my ideas don’t come from things other authors write, but instead come from things other authors didn’t write. When I see an thought/idea/thread in a story that isn’t followed up on, or isn’t handled how I think it should be handled, that often inspires me to either use a similar base concept or similar thought but in the way I wish it had been done.
Are there certain steps you take/decisions you make when/before responding to a post/prompt?
Not really? I tend to just go with whatever comes to me or what I already had prepared. I’m rather impulsive, so unless it’s a delicate subject matter, I roll with whatever’s going on.
I do always make myself take a step back before responding to stuff that annoys me/any sort of anon hate. I have to remind myself it’s not worth the effort and I should focus on positive/fun stuff. I’ll admit though, I have a very combative nature that can get the better of me sometimes. I’ve gotten better at that though! Hooray for proper adhd medication to help prevent destructive stimulus seeking behavior and therapy! Although I do still like to debate stuff for fun, I just don’t let myself get hostile about it.
When and why did you decide to host writing events like your fake fics event? What was the purpose and how did you approach the title prompts?
Oh, I just saw the post and thought it looked fun so I reblogged it. Stuff like that is mostly an impulse more than anything else.
I just kinda went with the flow for the titles. God, I got so many of those, I still have a lot of them sitting in my inbox, most of which I probably won’t ever post. For the ones I did do though, I picked ones that sounded like fic titles I would actually use, and then asked myself what sort of story I would use that title for. Then I just kinda wrote whatever came to me.
How would you describe the difference between writing alone and writing spontaneously with others (first in creating fan theories and headcanons and second in creating fanfiction)?
Hmmm. This one is also a bit hard. It’s rare I truly “write alone”, most of my stories start as a form of oral storytelling and then are adapted to “proper” writing. Most of my theories/headcanons start the same way.
You’ll notice a lot of my posts start with “Also” “Okay” or “I’ve been thinking” or “You know”. When I’m writing my headcanon/theory posts, it’s all written very conversationally because I’m still following my family’s storytelling in a way. It’s a public post, but I’m not just making statements to a void. I’m still talking to people, addressing them, leading them through stuff. It’s just how I communicate on a very fundamental leave.
I’m still writing for myself, I’m creating for myself, but I’m doing it with others. I’m telling a story constantly, and sometimes I’m telling that story to myself, but I’m still telling it to someone.
I think you can read that in my fics, with the perspective I tend to use. I use limited third person POV, but when I’m writing, I try to write it how the character I’m writing from the POV of would tell their own story. I’m not just describing what’s happening, I’m letting this character tell their story through their own voice, to others, to me. It’s a core part of my writing, and that makes it hard to say that it was ever really written alone.
Do you think knowing that others read and can comment on your texts subconsciously influences your writing?
I mean, it’d be impossible for it not to. But I don’t think it influences me that much. I’m still writing for myself most of the time, and I hold onto my bullshit tightly. I don’t change my writing based on what I think other people want to see from me.
That being said, it’s still something I think about. It’s more of a conscious choice, but specifically regarding my stories that have abuse in them, I try to connect in elements of realism and common underrepresented traits/habits of abuse (which I do try to check via research when I can) and ensure that they are then called out as what they are. I’ve gotten a number of comments/asks/discord messages from people telling me that my works helped them realize they were in a crappy situation / understand what they were going through, and that’s something that’s important for me.
I think The Green Eyed Monster is an example of that, where I explore platonic stalking/obsession/pressuring. It’s something I don’t see taken seriously often enough, so I wanted to frame it in a serious but realistic light and make it clear that what was happening was wrong and harmful. I wanted to explore this concept, but I purposefully did it in a way that I hoped would help others who might’ve dealt with it on some level understand it for what it was, and I think it really shows. In the comments of that fic, there’s a lot of very personal responses/stories from people who went through similar experiences. I think that’s important, so it’s something I try to do when I can.
The other thing is I do 100% put references/lines in certain stories with an evil grin on my face knowing that a certain handful of my commenters are going to rip their hair out over it, either because they have no idea what I mean by it, or they know exactly what I mean by it. But hey, I’m a hurt/comfort writer at heart, so you can hardly blame me.
What motivated you to create a story where your readers can decide for an ending (name)?
Oh, uh, “Seven Year Old Katsuki Has The Ability To Kill A Grown Man And No Concept Of Legality”.
I actually can’t remember the exact inspiration for this one? I think I saw uhhh, Markiplier, playing a text adventure game, and I got curious about creating something similar.
I considered using a platform meant for text based games, but true to my family’s long history of needlessly complicating things and creating things where they aren’t meant to be created out of some mix of spite and creative hubris, I decided I wanted to make it on A03 instead. I looked up a style formatting guide, and went to work.
That whole project took like 1-2 months, around school work and everything else. It was created entirely using links that sent you to the next page. That’s it. That’s the only ‘code’ functionality I had to work with. So I made a whole paper map of the routes, separating them out into “steps” and then created unique text blocks for each step based on prior choices. I used a secret point system for one of the main routes, and ended up with 97 unique steps, and 155 different text blocks/variations.
Fun project. A03 was having some trouble/going down right after I released it, and to this day, certain members of the discord server still blame me for that as I was forcing the website into bullshit it was not meant to contain.
Is there anything else you consider important in your writing process that you would like to tell us?
Nothing I can think of off the top of my head. Other than maybe I have an African Gray named Cecil, and sometimes when I’m not ready to share an idea with humans, I’ll talk it out with him first. He’s an excellent listener sometimes, and by that I mean he’s usually ignoring me or I’m giving him scratches and he’s not paying my rambling any mind.
Though sometimes I get lucky and when I finish up a point and ask for his opinion, he’ll just look at me for a moment and say “I love you.” He does it because I’ll always cave and give him treats since I’m weak for him, but it still makes me smile.

The MFackenthal Show and @maxattack-powell!
Tumblr media
banner by @whenyourheartskipsabeat
Hello all!  Welcome back to the MFackenthal Show!  I am so glad that you are here today.  If you’re new to the show, I encourage you to go here to find past episodes.  There are only a few.
The MFackenthal Show has officially been green lit for more episodes!  We used to only be able to afford to run the show every once in a while, but the people have spoken - they want to see the show more often!  The funding came through and we hope to give the people what they want!  Do you want to be on the show?  Do you have someone that you want to see on the show?  If so - reblog or comment or send a message to let MFackenthal know!  We’ll see what we can do!  We have this show and two others lined up for you!
I could not be more excited to bring you this next guest.  She has been with the fandom for quite a while.  She was one of the first people I started communicating with on a regular basis.  She has talked me up, supported me from the beginning and though she hasn’t written much lately - when she does drop a chapter - it’s long and it’s worth it!  Please welcome to the stage @maxattack-powell!!!!!  (Insert Cheering here!)
(Megs greets Max with a hug - which means that Megs essentially runs and leaps into Max’s arms.  Max is fairly tall and Megs is barely 5′3″)
Megs:  Max, I am so happy that you are here!  Can you believe that you’re here today?
Max:  Haha, yes - I can.  But I am honored to be here.
Megs:  Max, sit with me.  For those in the audience who may not know you, tell us about when and why you joined the fandom.
Max: Yanno, I always made my best guess at this before, but I knew you were going to ask me this - so I looked it up.  Did you know that now there’s this Official Tumblr blog called @memories, and it knows down to the minute when someone joined? Let me go check it… *digs through the blogs posts* Okay, it was apparently 07/31/2017 at 1:17:15 PM, which means it must have been on the weekend because of the time of day haha.
As for why ... hmm, well… I found the Choices app one day, when it only had like… three series I think! Anyone else remember that time?
Megs:  I do!  Because I was playing Hollywood University I think I downloaded choices the day the app came out.
Max: Awh!  Well, I fell in love with The Freshman Series. Mostly because of Chris Powell and Zack Zilberg, and a long time ago I was in another fandom that had tons of fan fiction/art… so I googled “Choices Chris Powell” and any other combination I could think of looking for possible fanfiction. The fandom was almost non existent at the time. There was actually one person, who has long since left the fandom due to fandom dramas - we all know the kinds I’m talking about - but a few others had started posting their works as well… and I got hooked. Eventually I felt the bug to write how I felt TF should play out as well, and here I am *looks back at the “joined tumblr timestamp”* uhh… 20ish months ago!  Haha!!
Megs:  LOL, when you put it that way it doesn’t sound like that long ago ... lets call a spade a spade - that was almost 2 years ago!  That’s amazing!  You have to have seen so much in this fandom!  What is it that keeps you around?
Max: There are so many awesome people in this fandom, in this world we’ve all created for our pixelated loves lol. Soooo many creative minds to follow and enjoy. The content people share, original or repost… it’s great.
... Unfortunately it is also a double edge sword ... the drama, the jealousy, the rumors, the hate, etc. I’ve sadly seen far too much and it comes in so many forms… it’s unnecessary.
Megs:  I couldn’t agree more!  If you could tell the fandom one thing - what would it be?
Max: It would be that we’re all here because we want to have a good time. No one came here to get ridiculed, to be scrutinized or chastised for their opinions, their likes or dislikes. Real life has enough of that going on. We are all individuals - if you want to be treated nicely, fairly, etc. you must also do the same to others. There is no reason someone must agree with you or anyone else. Live and let live. Embrace our differences as it makes us who we are. Most of the issues I see stem from a simple difference in opinion. That is ridiculous. Everyone’s entitled to their own thoughts. We must build each other up, not tear one another down. No one here owes anyone anything, now go have some fun.
(The room stands up in applause!)
Megs:  You should definitely stand up and take a bow, Max!
(Max does just as Megs suggests - but she also makes Megs stand up and do the same. Laughing, they both sit back down.)
Awh, Max ... okay, let’s get back to you.  We know that you’d fight anyone for the position of The Chris Powell Appreciation/Fan Club.  And for those who don’t know, Max has been retelling the full The Freshman series, interweaving dialogue and plot from PB but also adding much of her own content.  MC and Chris get a backstory.  Chris gets best friends from back home.  What is your favorite piece that you have written?
Max: Oh geez hahaha. Um… can I just say The Freshman Chronicles as a whole? I’ve written for different fandoms, and I have original WIPs but I’ll stick to the Choices fandom for this answer. I’ve put a lot of time into TFC. Tons of additional story work, research on characters and their backgrounds, PBs and my own OCs. You should see my file folder setup haha. It’s crazy… I have so many docs, pictures and gifs. Most organized by location (Hartfeld, Boston, New Haven, Cherryfield, etc.), then by character… and on some I get more detailed and split them by emotion and situation.
Megs: By what again?
Max:  Emotion and Situation ... Yeah. I warned you it was crazy! *laughs* TFC was the reason I joined tumblr really. Instead of staying a Nonny and only reading others posted works. I wanted to comment, like and reblog what I enjoyed, while I also worked on my own contribution to the fandom. I had a vision for Chris and MC that had more than the game could give, and I wanted to see if i was still any good at writing since it had been years and years… it’s funny to see how different my current posts are from my first over a year ago. Makes me want to go update a few because they could use a little help *awkward laugh*
Megs:  I’m sure we can all relate to that!  Hmmm ... I’m starting to get a feel for this, I think, but what is your writing process?
Max:  Lots of planning, mostly in my head. When I feel like I have a decent concept I might type out some notes or work it into my outline (another crazy thing I have going for TFC because it’s so big haha). But usually, once I hatch out a basic plan on where I’m going… I just start typing. Keeping the general plot and main points I want to hit in mind, I simply start typing… keeping it as organic as possible. It usually works out well.
Megs:  Do you have any advice for other writers?
Max: First, and most importantly… do it because you enjoy it. Don’t do it for likes, reblogs, popularity, etc. If you’re having a good time dreaming things up and typing them out, that’s what’s important. The rest is just an extra bonus. Also, don’t give up. It’s easy to become discouraged, frustrated, distracted and more… but remember - your creative cells can’t be running all the time. They need to rest just like your body. Take breaks… go read, play games, hang out with friends/family, watch a movie… whatever. Just do something to help you relax, to reset and you’ll very probably find inspiration and/or motivation to continue. Remember, this is for fun. *wink and finger guns*
Megs: So what do you do for fun?
Max: I actually have a few things I do regularly. A big one is making costumes/props for conventions, small productions, etc. I also train and show horses. I do the same with my dogs, but more for competitions and not really any shows. I’ve always drawn, sculpted, painted since I was old enough to hold things with my hands… and about a year ago I started learning how to do it digitally as well. I run (not at all for fun haha) and play hockey (totally for fun), follow comics and watch anime. I've restored houses, cars and old furniture. I like to read as much as I can - that’s an important one. I also play video games. Something I’ve done since I was young… I've even competed, and won, a few gaming tournaments.
Megs:  You don’t know how to be bored do you?
Max: LOL, Megs.  Yeah, um, so there’s a “few” *makes air quotes* of my never ending list of interests haha. Gives me a lot to talk about with people, eh?
Megs: Not that I can understand how you’d have time for this ... but what do you do to help pay for your many activities?
Max:  Oh like, my job? Well that can be a simple answer… like “I work in software” but the more interesting way to say it is I use my MBA, experience in business, the financial industry and technology to improve and stabilize my customers environment through technological solutions that fit their specific needs. *presses lips together* I solve problems by designing solutions. Bored yet? Hahaha.
Megs:  No!  That sounds wonderful!  Who doesn’t want their stuff to be designed better?  Any chance you could start working for tumblr?  Some of us have a few complaints ... tags ... mobile losing our work ...
Max:  I’m not sure they could pay me enough to help them with all of their problems!  But, tumblr, feel free to send me an offer!
Megs:  Seriously - send her a 6 figure offer!
Max:  Okay, Megs, well now I have a question for you.
Megs: Uhhhh, Max, that’s not exactly how this is supposed to go.
Max:  Yeah, don’t care.  Your fans need to know ... Hoooow do you find the time to read and review so much?! And I know that’s just in this fandom.  I know you read books and you may read for other fandoms!?  Seriously, it’s awesome. We need to clock your page flipping speed haha.
Megs:  *blushes* Oh my gosh, you have to stop!  Here’s the key to how I do it ... I wake up at 5:30am and read for about 30 minutes.  Then I workout and start my day.  I read in line at the grocery stores.  I read on my breaks at work.
Max:  Oh my gosh - you’re such a nerd and I love that!  Okay, nerd, what is your favorite thing to do, besides reading all the things of course?
Megs: This show, of course!  And, of course, getting people to do silly things on this show with me.  For instance - with as athletic as you are, I hear you can’t jump?
Max:  Megs, shhhhh.  You told me you weren’t going to bring that up.
Megs:  I did no such thing! (Meg says while laughing) I said I might not bring it up.
Max:  Uh huh.
(Kris Kross’s “Jump” starts playing in the studio)
Megs:  Come on - show me what you’ve got!
(Megs starts “singing” along and jumping along with the song. Max stays seated.  Megs finally pulls Max up into a standing position. Max plays along and “jumps” next to Megs - getting no air at all.)
Oh, come on Max - put some real strength in to it.  Jump! Jump! Jump!
(Max jumps and gets the smallest amount of air time.)
Max:  *laughing* Megs - I’m tall!  I don’t need to jump to reach things!
Megs:  *laughing* That must be nice.  I got good at this type of jumping because I had to learn to jump up and gently grab things from the grocery so I didn’t knock everything down.
*continuing to jump around the audience - getting everyone to join her* And that’s all for the show today today, folks!  Thank you for watching!!  Have a great night!

4. What’s your favourite genre to write?

Fanfiction Reader Tag
Stole this from @ao3commentoftheday , because it looked like fun and I have time to kill. Thanks for this!
Fanfiction Reader Tag!
1. When did you start reading Fanfic (How old you were or how long ago)?
2007 so I was... 13? Fanfiction has literally shaped me as a reader and a person.
2. Do you have an AO3 account?
Yep. Eyeliner-Vampire (yes, this is a name I will never let go of)
3. Do you read WIP (work in progress)? Why or why not?
Hell yeah. Gotta support that author. You can do it! I believe in you!
4. What time of day is your ‘fic reading time’?
Anytime I’m lying in bed with nothing to do
5. How much time do you spend reading fic per week?
It used to be around 4 hours or so (I tend to binge read a whole fic so it could be longer) but I don’t read nearly as often anymore
6. Do you listen to podfic (fanfic recorded like an audiobook)?
No but if anyone has a good one to rec I’ll give it a try.
7. What’s your favorite fic genre to read?
Suspense! Adventure! Horror! Tragedy!
I like pain
8. Are there any genres that you tend to avoid?
Pure romance isn’t my thing
9. What tag(s) do you track?
None? Maybe I should start tracking ‘spooky scary’
10. How do you find new fic?
Recommendations are a huge thing. I will also go to an author that I follow and see who they’re following and just go down the line until I find a fic to read.
11. How do you organize your fic bookmarks?
I don’t. Maybe that’s my problem
12. Do you subscribe to authors or stories?
HELL YEAH. Usually if I do one I will follow with the other.
13. What is your favorite fanfic trope?
Don’t have one. I have a wish of reading a fic with every trope possible. Someone please make it happen.
14. What kind of plot line are you always here for?
Repressed feelings, slow burn, spooky scary stuff. I live for that.
15. What can an author do to make you love them?
Try their best. Give me a story you would like to read and I will love you for it.
16. What can an author do to make you avoid them?
Draw conclusions from evidence that was never presented to me as the reader. It’s confusing and takes away the fun of figuring it all out.
17. What do kudos mean to you?
To me, a kudo is akin to leaving someone on read. I appreciate you taking the time to read, but the amount of satisfaction it brings is nothing compared to a comment or a follow.
18. What kind of commenter are you (No comment, short comment, keyboard smash)?
I try my best for long comments to tell the author exactly what it was I liked about their work. Depending how flowery I wanna be that day, it can vary in length.
19. Have you ever stopped reading a fic? Why or why not?
I think I’ve only done this once, and it was because the plot revolved around something I didn’t care for.
20. Have you ever read a fic more than once? What is it about that fic that makes you want to read it again?
Hell yeah. Repeatability is a key factor in the fics I choose to read. I like fics that read differently the more you look at it. Peeling back the layers of plot.
21. Do you like sequels?
My most favorite fic in the world is a sequel.
22. Do you like dabbles?
I’m still yet to understand what exactly this is but yes. I’ll read anything.
23. What do you wish more fic authors would do?
UPDATE. POST. WRITE. PLEASE JUST GIVE ME EVERYTHING. Give me your notes, your musings, literally I just want more content. I know a lot of writers who want everything to be right before they post, and I respect that immensely, but on the reader side, I am willing to read anything you write. (*´Д`*) just give it to me.
24. What do you wish more authors would stop doing?
Writing before the story is (mostly) planned. I’m guilty of this and I know it annoys readers to change things mid way, so think the whole story through and then write it. It’ll solve so many future problems.
25. Do you like one-shots or multi-chapter?
Collections of one-shots are my weakness.
26. How long do you like chapters to be?
Hmmm this is a tough one. There’s no specific length I prefer, as long as the chapter does what it was intended to do. I’d read a 30page chapter as long as we got to the point and I enjoyed the journey there. I think I prefer chapters to be long, but cut into smaller sections so I can read one and stop if I need to.
27. What’s your favorite POV (point of view) to read (first, second, third)?
Third! First POV has fallen out for me a bit. Close third is my absolute fav, you get the distance of third but the ‘over the shoulder’ feeling of first which leaves a lot of room humor, especially for Naru (ghosthunt) who doesn’t usually show that much.
28. What do you think of OC’s?
They can be hit or miss. I like when OC’s are used for more than your typical ‘wrench in the love story’. Give them depth and meaning please and I promise to love them.
29. Do you download fic?
I used to print fic out so I could continue reading at school ;>.> I’ve killed so many trees.
30. Tell me something else about your fic reading! Anything else!
One word titles? Love em. Japanese titles? Gimme that shit. Title that makes no sense until you finish the story? Live For It.
Tag!

1 to freakin' 25, u lil git
... *Bad Karma by Ida Maria plays in the background* .... I brought this on myself.
1. Favourite place to write.
[answered]
2. Favourite part of writing.
I love the brainstorming and piecing together the beginning scenes the most. Its just pure creation and I love it.
3. Least favourite part of writing.
When I eventually stumble upon plot holes or scenes I havent figured out yet... It sucks.
4. Do you have writing habits or rituals?
I must have a hot drink or an iced coffee, uh... I can never write in my jammies so I’ve gotta at least be dressed... I usually start off a day of writing by getting myself in the zone... so I usually wake up and listen to WIP playlists for a bit first... uh.... I don’t think I do anything else.
5. Books or authors that influenced your style the most.
Hmmm... V.E Schwab is 100% an influence bc... weird goth fantasy... so I guess i’ve also got to include Neil Gaiman in here too... But they both have completely different writing styles to me.
I guess I also took influence from Mariana Zapata’s slow burn romances. I can’t really think of any others...
6. Favourite character you ever created.
Nora Amonet was my favourite for a good 6/7 years because she used to be an MC so I have a real soft spot for her. If not her I’ve gotta say her son - August.
7. Favourite author.
Stated above - V.E Schwab and Mariana Zapata. They’re my insta-buy authors.
8. Favourite trope to write.
Mutual Pining because I hate myself.
9. Least favourite trope to write.
If I didn’t like it I wouldn’t write it???? Its why I don’t do love triangles...
10. Pick a writer to co-write a book with and tell us what you’d write about.
Uhhhhhh the idea of co-writing confuses me because I like full creative control over my children but... If I had to pick....
You and I would make a crazy techno vampire story or maybe just a crazy dark noir style cyberpunk - I blame you for this idea.
@elonanwrites and I would make one hell of an amazing paranormal world.
@zielenheil and I would create something TRAGIC and intellectual with our combined 2 brain cells.
@carrotgirl-1 and I could make some cute magical realism low sci-fi hybrid story. I’d want to see what we could go with the Magical Girl anime trope.
@type-writings and I could boss out an epic high fantasy with some dark as fuck magic system.
11. Describe your writing process from scratch to finish.
Uh.... Idea, brainstorming (long time yo), vague outline, START, Maintain, finish (????)
12. How do you deal with self-doubts?
Um I guess I rely on the fact that I hope my fronds ain’t lying to me when they say that they love my stuff??? Other than that I really don’t deal asdfghjkl;
13. How do you deal with writers block?
Push through it - I kinda don’t believe in writers block? Usually if I feel blocked its usually just burnout or procrastination....
14. What’s the most research you ever put into a book?
*looks over at the fuck load of art history books I have on my shelf*.... TEOM is hurting me.
15. Where does your inspiration come from?
[answered]
16. Where do you take your motivation from?
[answered]
17. On avarage, how much writing do you get done in a day?
[answered]
18. What’s your revision or rewriting process like?
I’m yet to get to it!!!! So... Idk yet.
19. First line of a WIP you’re working on.
“I woke in a pool of my own vomit to the sound of gunshots.”
20. Post a snippet of a WIP you’re working on.
Tumblr media
Random screenshot I have on my desktop from GFS. You’re welcome.
21. Post the last sentence you wrote in one of your WIP’s.
“But I didn’t take my gaze from the three that were squeezed together across from me.”
22. How many drafts do you need until you’re satisfied and a project is ultimately done for you?
I don’t know... I feel like GFS is probably going to be around 4/5??? We shall see.
23. Single or multi POV, and why?
I love multi POV... But, I rarely have stories with multi-pov.
24. Poetry or prose, and why?
Prose!!!!! I only really like short form poetry.
25. Linear or non-linear, and why?
....
Hmmmm....
Linear... but... not always.
DONE!!!!!

Hmmm how about "horrified"? :D
LOL OKokok um. So I really had to wrack my brain because I was like ‘hmm have I wrote a scene that encompasses horrified?’ And then this scene popped into my head. In a sense it is horrified but it’s more of a funny/amusing shock and ‘wtf?’ kind of horrified. You’ll get it in a bit.
I shrugged off my jacket and kicked off my shoes, dropping my keys at the end table by the front entrance. Wednesday nights at The CoffeeHouse were usually slow, but for some odd reason everyone and their mother were craving a cup of coffee this evening. Not to mention the few stragglers that took their sweet time finishing up when we were desperately trying to close up shop. Most days I loved my job, but others, like today, left me exhausted. Which wasn’t ideal when I had a sizable pile of homework waiting to be indulged.
After hanging up my jacket in the coat closet, I headed to the kitchen to whip up a quick dinner.
“Hey, Cami.” Vince darted out of my kitchen and into the living room.
“Hey, Vince.” I yawned, tiredly tossing a greeting at him over my shoulder. It took about half a second for my brain to fully process the last few seconds. My head snapped back as I did a double take.“Wait…Vince?”
I dashed after him into my living room, only to be confronted with the most bizarre scene I’d ever laid eyes on.
To my right, Eli and my brother were lounging on our couch. They had video game controllers in their laps and their faces were scrunched up at the TV, which was showing America’s Next Top Model. Seated on the floor a few feet before them were Mira and Vince, a bowl of popcorn between them and their eyes glued to the screen.
I blinked twice. I had to be seeing things.
“What the hell is going on here?” I yelled, spreading my arms out.
Mira craned her neck to look at me. “Oh, hey, Cami! Didn’t hear you come in. I invited Vince over I hope you don’t — “
“Fucking hell Courtney, my abuela can work better angles than that!” Vince hollered, tossing his hands up from his lap.
Since I clearly wasn’t getting any answers out of them, my gaze slid over to Jeremy and Eli who were still cowering in their seats, watching on in sheer horror.
Jeremy caught my puzzled stare. “E and I were playing video games when they showed up about two hours ago and took over the TV. They’ve been watching America’s Next Top Model nonstop. What I’d like to know is why they can’t do this at their own damn house.” He raised his voice at the end of his sentence to make sure they could hear.
“Shhh!! Tyra’s talking!” Vince and Mira said, very eerily, in unison.
And things just kept getting weirder and weirder.
Vince turned back to face me. “Also Cami, I’ll have you know I’ve been here a full two hours and I haven’t once tried to sneak a peak at your bedroom. I figured you’d let me in there of your own accord.” He winked.
“What an upstanding gentlemen you are,” I said sarcastically. Smirking, he turned back to the TV.
Groaning, I rubbed my temples and turned back to the kitchen. “I need some tea.”
I hope you found this scene as amusing as I did, haha. Thank you for sending in a word!
Send me an adjective or an emotion and I will post an excerpt from my wip that fits that feeling/word.

Fic Writing Meme
Tagged by @parkkate thank you, love <3
What is your total posted word count on AO3? (Go to your Works, then click Statistics.)
895,278 oh man, I was soooooooo close to 1mil, but I just removed a whole fandom’s content this month and knocked myself back to this =(
How often do you write?
As often as I can, when my fibromyalgia (fog and fatigue is a bitch when trying to write) doesn’t get in the way. It’s a great distraction from my pain/other symptoms/general bad moods. It’s pretty much the only hobby I have now that doesn’t directly cause me more pain if I do a lot of it =)
If I’m in a good space, I can write every day, if I’m in a bad space yikes XD I’m lucky to write once a week.
And if I’m in a bad health space + an influx of shitty comments, I only manage to write like a couple of days out of every few months =(
Do you have a routine for writing?
Not really, if it’s a wip, I just back-read like, 2 pages or so? to get into the flow/character mindset and then I just keep going past where I stopped last time. If it’s been a few months, I might read the entirety of the wip before continuing.
If I don’t know what I feel like writing, I just open a blank doc and start writing and see where it goes. That’s often how I end up writing new ships/fandoms rather unexpectedly XD
If I’m really stuck and brain-blanking, I go looking for a line prompt to get me started, usually just the act of typing out the line prompt sets me off and I can just keep writing =)
I like listening to lyric-free music to help me focus =)
What’s your favourite kinks/tropes/pairing?
-Tropes? Hmmmmmmm I’m pretty open to most things but I think my fav trope is soulmate aus, I’m forever writing them, but I never post them because I did post a 50k drarry soulmate au once, it was like my 2nd or 3rd fic (I know I was posting it alongside Restraint back on ffnet before I had AO3 but I can’t remember which was first XD) and the comments were so awful I don’t think I’ll get up the guts to post one again for the hp fandom. Or at least, not for that pairing XD but I still find myself writing them often just for myself, and I tend to stalk the tag on AO3 for certain fandoms that always have really good ones =)
Other fav tropes: bedsharing, room-sharing, fake dating, telepathic bonds, other forms of bonding, sensation sharing
Fuck, I never write my favourite tropes, do I? XD learnt my lesson from the soulmate au I guess, getting something you love torn to shreds is fucking traumatising XD
Oooh wait, is angst a trope? cos I love that and write that a lot XD
Oh, and enemies to lovers! duh XD I forget that’s a trope.
-Kinks? hmmmmmm
I don’t really think in terms of kinks, which makes tagging a nightmare, I guess I like a little d/s but I don’t like the way most of it is written, same for dirty talk but often the language used in fics squicks me out. OH OH Exhibitionism/Voyeurism XD how did I almost forget that, one of my fav fav favs!
Hmmm I know I have more, I’m constantly writing them without realising and then losing my shit all over the place mid-scene XD
I don’t really enjoy reading smutty kinky fics unless they’re my own though, because even good tagging doesn’t rule out coming across something that squicks you and I know all my own fics are free from my squicks =) (or at least they’re written in a way that is tolerable for me XD)
-Pairing? hmmmm well Drarry is a forever fav pairing, Merthur and Spirk would be my other ultimate favs. Sheith is joining those ranks too actually.
But I’m pretty much open to all ships, and I love my rarepairs =)
Do you have a favourite fic of yours?
This changes a lot depending on my mood and the state of comments on the fics (pathetic, but true). Right now it’s my HD consent fest fic ‘In the Ways that Matter’ not only because I’ve been carrying ace!Harry ideas around for years and working on fics but being too scared to post them, but also because I’m figuring out my own place on the ace spec lately so yeah, it really means a lot to me. Doing that fest kind of gave me the push I needed to finally put one of my ace!harry headcanons out there. And it was received really well, so that certainly helps =)
Your fic with the most kudos?
Making Malfoy Blush (not available to read)
Anything you don’t like about your writing?
I suck at plot, I have so many great plotty ideas tucked away, but I can’t plan and stick to a plan and when I try I can’t write at all, since I usually write each next scene as what feels like the most natural progression from the last and plans don’t always continue to work out sooooo yeah. I tend to only write relationship fics because they suit my ‘start writing and don’t stop and think until you’re done’ style. They’re fast and easy XD
I also have a pretty limited set of vocab and I’m constantly annoyed at myself for reusing the same words and phrases. I make notes all time about words I’d like to insert into fics...but then I forget about those notes almost immediately XD
Background description is non-existent. I focus on the characters and how they feel to the exclusion of the world around them. I try and work on it, and then get distracted again *sigh* one day I’ll get better at describing surroundings. People too actually, I never really describe them either. I think part of it is my shitty visualisation skills, I can’t visualise the room they are in? or them? so I can’t describe it? I dunno, I suck at this but try my best anyway when I remember.
The passage of time is also non-existent, fuck I’m so bad at noting the passage of time. At some point I got lazy with scene changes and stopped doing lead-ins for new scenes and it’s stuck and now I always do abrupt scene changes without time reference, and even I get fucking confused about the timelines of my own fics XD
Endings. I suck at endings. Or probably more of a case of what I like as an ending is constantly getting me into shit with my readers. I need to work on writing endings that will satisfy the majority of readers. Whatever, anyone following me knows my issues with this, no need to elaborate.
Anyway, I’m forever working on all this, so maybe one day I’ll improve =)
Now something you do like?
Emotional focus and intensity (since I can’t visualise worth a damn and tend to just skim those kinds of descriptions when I read, I don’t care what room they’re in or what it looks like, I care about what they are doing and feeling in that room? Which really explains why my own written descriptions suck XD).
I like the bickering and bantering in my fics, it’s basically how I am with my friends so I love writing it and reading it =)
ANGSSSSSSSSSSST all the sweet sweet angst.
Open endings, when I’m able to detach from all the shit I get for them. I like reading and thinking about my own fics and being able to pick different future outcomes depending on my mood of the day. I have a very love-hate relationship with the endings of my fics XD
Aaaaand, I’m out of the loop on this account so I have no idea who has and hasn’t done this, so I wont tag anyone, but by all means, anyone who wants to do it go right ahead =)

Thanks to the lovely @green-eyeddragonfanfiction for taking the time to answer these! Get to know more about her, go give her a follow and then show her some love!
These questions are from this list. You should check it out, there’s 50 questions all together and they’d be great to ask your favorite fic writer!
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fan-fiction?
Around 20, I think.
2) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
Reader inserts, definitely. I don’t mind throwing OC’s in there if I need to, though. I really like reading reader inserts. I think it’s really fun and engaging to imagine yourself in a story.
3) What is your favorite genre to write for?
Super Heroes! Although I really adore fantasy. If I were to write a book, it would be fantasy.
4) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
I’m… not sure. I s'pose it’d have to be One Mistake, simply because I think it’s worst piece.
5) When is your preferred time to write?
Whenever I actually find the motivation to write, which usually ends up being around 1-4 am. Aka I’m a Mess: Part 1
6) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Tumblr media
Have you seen this man?
I suppose I also draw inspiration from comics, movies, TV shows, and video games where applicable.
7) In your Winter’s War Series, what’s your favorite scene that you wrote?
Out of the entire trilogy? Dang, that’s tough. Maybe in Ghosts of War when Bucky, Reader, and Nat are sitting together, sort of like some messed up little family? If not that, then it’s probably in Winter’s War when Reader, Steve, and Bucky reunite after the Azzano goes up in flames.
8) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
I don’t think I’ve ever received “criticism.” I’ve received very polite corrections of some of the German in WW from some native speakers, but that’s about it (I haven’t corrected any of it yet because I’m a lazy pos).
9) Who is your favorite character to write for? Why?
Bucky Barnes. Because he’s Bucky Barnes.
10) Who is your least favorite character to write for? Why?
I don’t really write characters that I don’t like. Even villains are fun to write, even if I hate them. If I had to choose, I guess it’d be Ashley Williams, from the Mass Effect series. I’ve only written her once, but she’s a damned space racist and I hate her, even if I didn’t hate writing her.
11) How did you come up with the title for the Winter’s War Series?
Winter’s War was named with the final scene of the first book in mind, as well as what reader and Bucky would be turned into for the second book; Winter Soldier(s), and the war that led them to being created. And because they “die” in the snow and ice. Ghosts of War because that’s what Reader and Bucky are in the second book. Ghosts. Shells of themselves. War torn and weary. Weapons. War of Attrition because, in the third book, they fight tooth and nail for every scrap of memory, personality, humanity, and they don’t always win. They’re going to hit a lot of roadblocks, mostly in the form of other humans, their past and their guilt, and sometimes each other.
12) How did you come up with the idea for Winter’s War Series?
I always liked the thought of a Bucky x Reader series where they both ended up as Winter Soldiers. Everything kind of grew from that. It follows very closely to the canon, so everything was trying to figure out the most believable way to weave a reader character into the existing story.
13) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
“Abandoned” is a strong word…. *stares guiltily at The Way I Do and Two of a Kind.* I just haven’t found the inspiration to write them recently, but I do plan on finishing them… eventually.
14) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
I plan on doing a second part for A Night to Remember when October rolls around. I also plan on adding more monster!Bucky’s to The Monster Series. My other series are complete or in progress and I don’t plan to add more to them (except to finish them in the case of the WIPs).
15) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
I don’t think so, no.
16) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
@angryschnauzer writes absolutely divine smut. I absolutely hate writing smut, so I wish I had her skills. There are others, but she’s the first one that came to mind. If I listed out every single author on here that I admire and why I admire them, we’d be here for another ten paragraphs!
17) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
I only started writing back in August. Anything written before that’s been lost to the Great Laptop Death of 2017. So, luckily, most of my writing is relatively recent and cringe-free.
18) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
I prefer listening to music (I love loud music and hate silence), but it’s distracting. My brain sometimes can’t process correctly so it tries to write the words I’m hearing instead of what I actually want to write. RIP me and my stupid brain. Aka I’m a Hot Mess: Part 2.
19) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
Haha. No. I’m dead inside. I very rarely (if ever) cry when reading, too.
20) Which part of your Winter’s War Series was the hardest to write?
Oh god the entire Agents of SHIELD part of War of Attrition. That show is so dense and woven so intricately into the MCU that it was difficult as hell to figure out where to put the reader so that it’d be relevant and set up for the next parts of the story. I love that show, but it was so hard *sobbing*.
21) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I almost never make outlines. WoA has been the exception because, as stated above, the content was way denser and I needed a clear path to be able to write them from point A to point B. That being said, I’ve only gotten as far as just after AoU. I haven’t decided what to do with Civil War or Infinity War yet.
22) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fan-fiction?
A) How Tumblr worked and B) that it’s a terrible, terrible site with horrible coding that, if it were a person, I would shoot as a mercy. Other than that, I read a lot of fics on here before I started posting some myself, which meant I had a pretty good idea of how to format it to be reader-friendly. Still had to google a lot of stuff, though.
23) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
Hmmm. I’m lucky in that I think I have a lot of readers/followers who leave lots of likes/comments/reblogs, but if I had to choose one? I think it’d be my recent Steve x Reader fic, Promise.
24) In contrast to 23 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Oh god. Again, I’m grateful for every like, comment, and reblog I get, but By Chance. It’s by far my most popular one shot at a staggering 1,925 notes. I like the a/b/o verse, but I posted it pretty early on in my writing career and it skyrocketed which completely blindsided me. The same thing kinda happened with Dumped, Drunk, and Angry. I wrote a one shot in a day or two because inspiration hit me like a freight train, and somehow they’re both over a thousand notes now.
25) Are any of your characters based on real people?
I s'pose Reader is always based off of me, just a little bit? Every other character (except the rare OC) has an established personality, but if I made reader a completely faceless, bland being it wouldn’t be that fun to read, would it? So even though I’m always careful to never describe reader too much physically, s/he always ends up with at least some of my personality.
26) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
Oh goodness, I don’t know. My readers are amazingly kind people. I get a lot of asks and comments saying very, very nice things all the time. I don’t think I could choose just one if I tried..
27) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
I was told very politely I spelled some German words wrong/used the wrong German words.
28) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
I word vomit on my real life friend sometimes if I’m really stuck. It’s not always super useful because she doesn’t follow/watch any MCU stuff. Mostly, ideas just bounce around in my head until one sticks.
29) Do people know you write fan-fiction?
Yeah, most of my real life friends know. The friend I mentioned above writes fanfic, just not for the MCU. The rest are big nerds, too, so they don’t judge me.
30) What’s your favorite minor character you’ve written?
I loved writing Ran Shen and Mila Hitzvig for The Bitter March arc in Ghosts of War. As far as OC’s go, Dean from my series Time is probably my favorite.
31) What spurs you on during the writing process?
Interest in the source material has a lot to do with it. For example, I was writing easily 4k+ words a day when I was writing about the events of Captain America: the Winter Soldier. Other than that, I wait for the urge to hit me… which sometimes means I don’t write for a few days and sometimes a week depending on what’s happening in real life.
32) What’s your favorite trope to write?
So far? Soulmate. A/B/O was also fun and I’ll probably write it again at some point.
33) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
Oh jesus, no. I have the worst memory ever. I’m lucky if I can remember things a week ago, much less years ago.
34) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Uhh… Not smut, I know that much. But I have this bad habit where I can’t write fluff without some angst and vice versa? I don’t think I could deal with writing cotton candy fluff for the rest of my life, though. So…. angst, I guess? But I wouldn’t be happy about it.

Tagged by @tracylorde thank you, Kat!
I love reading these, and if @isla1975 and @jasperjoordan want to give it a go, I’d love to read that!
1. what is your most popular fic by kudos? comments? bookmarks? are they all the same?
by kudos: Come On Baby, Light My Fire
by comments: Her hair is shiny and bright (She’s the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen around)
by bookmarks: Pet-names
2. do you have a favourite of your fics? if not, do you have one you’re most proud of? why?
I don’t think I posted my favourite yet. It exists, but it’s just there under a pile of dust in my drafts. But prompt: This isn’t my kitchen, is it? was kinda love at first sight for me and still not embarrassed by it.
3. what fandom/ship (if you write for more than one) is your favourite to write for?
The 100/Bellarke exclusively.
4. do you have any fics that got more popularity/attention than you expected? if so what were they?
I guess that is the Clarke x Murphy fake-dating fic, Come On Baby, Light My Fire. (Not that I have to explain this, but I am really into fake dating with odd pairings.) And Wait. You’re aroused? which is an AU within an AU and was/is also a huge challenge to me. But if I have to guess it’s mainly due to its M rating.
5. where do you get your ideas/inspiration from? do you have a fic that you feel is particularly unique in that area?
I draw inspiration from my many places. Late night revelations, life and sometimes from prompt lists or just dialogues that stuck with me. I could name a few unposted stories here I think are unique but it wouldn’t really answer the question, is it? So, not sure if it is unique, but prompt: This isn’t my kitchen, is it? made me laugh, and frankly, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, only that I wanted to do it. Surprisingly, it practically wrote itself pretty fast (in a day, which is a good pace in my world).
6. do you have a favourite character to write POV for?
Whatever feels more natural at the given time. I feel and understand Bellamy’s character and his motivations more and in general closer to me. Clarke is way more challenging (for me) to write. Interestingly, I think I’ve used her POV more, maybe because of that.
7. what’s your favourite side pairing to include?
Monty x Miller, Raven x Roan, Raven x Murphy.
8. do you have a fic you feel is underrated in comparison to your other fics? or you just wish more people would read?
Definitely Lollipop !! I want to write more to it (there is definitely something more to tell and I have an idea where to bring it) but couldn’t find that little push yet.
9. what’s something you would go back and change in one of your fics?
HA! Any fic from the early days. I have insecurities about my writing in general. But it is true that you can only get better by doing and not giving up so anyone who subscribed (you are angels!) hopefully can see some of that development in my writing.
10. what is your favourite sort of comment to receive on a fic?
my favourite sort of comment to receive would be ( and **haven’t received such yet**) when someone catches a tiny detail or not so obvious reference to the show or a dumb joke. For example, when I mention “Bellamy’s favourite copy of the Iliad” it’s his favourite because he has more copies (obviously)
11. what are your favourite genres of fic to write? (e.g. modern au, hurt/comfort, fluff, angst, etc.)
Definitely modern au.Team mild angst and fluff! My babies suffer too much in canon.
12. what are your favourite tropes to write?
I enjoy reading enemies-to-friends-to-lovers but I love writing pining friends-to-lovers the most.
13. do you write fics similar to what you enjoy reading or completely different? both?
Not sure. My absolute favourite is fake dating/fake marriage, and I wrote only two and half fake dating fics. Others can write it so much better.
14. what’s your writing process like?
Totally chaotic. Usually, it starts with a little scene around the middle or the end and then figuring out the beginning and filling the gaps/ bridges as I go.
15. multi-chapter, oneshot, or drabble?
Drabbles are good because it’s easier to edit and you can add any time to a drabble if you feel like it. Oneshots/multi-chapters are more challenging because a) they are longer and b) not many people want to read your WIP unless you have some good exposure and it can be really discouraging
16. if someone was only going to read one of your fics, which would you want them to read?
hmmm, if you are looking for a finished one then Put the puppy down. if you don’t mind WIPs then Her hair is shiny and bright (She’s the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen around).
