call me a fake fan or whatever but I really don’t care or even like Yugioh season 3 and 4. It’s just so boring, like where’s my shockingly kind of deep for a kids show Egyptian lore. Season 1 gets a pass but only because I’ve got nostalgic sentiment towards it.

I wasn’t even alive when Yugioh aired so until I got a Netflix subscription all I had was 2 battle city dvds that were completely out of order and like 6 episodes of duelist kingdom. And Battle City was peak Yugioh by the way.

just something about the mystery of the puzzle and the raw power of these Egyptian monsters absolutely enchanted me. I remember being so devastated because the episode endend where Yami Mark takes over after Odion loses consciousness and I just had no idea what happened next for like 5 years.

I don’t think I even finished season 3 or 4 when I started Yugioh from the beginning. I was just so bored that half way through I just watched YGTAS so I’d have at least some context for later.

A WRoEF related rant:

I swear to god, the creators of WRoEF did not check a calendar before deciding on some of the Finches death. I guess weekdays doesn’t necessarily matter but in some of these contexts I struggle to see the logic.

Most scenarios it doesn’t matter at all where the day they died could literally have been any day of the year and their story wouldn’t be different in any way, like Calvin who died on a Saturday (September 23rd, 1961) after he launched himself off a cliff (meaning it wouldn’t have matter if it was during the weekend or not) or Walter who died on a Thursday (March 31st, 2005) after he decided to leave the bunker and died by a train that ran him over (and judging by his note this train came everyday) just to name a few. But there are some that bugs me a lot. I’m currently writing several fanfics for this fandom so keeping track of dates and such is important for consistency. So you can say I realized a couple things along the way.

(I make it sound all dramatic when it’s actually only 2 deaths I’m focusing on even though I’m listing 3 down below. Just think it’s funny how the 2 deaths that involves something that has been scheduled doesn’t make much sense but I’m not going to judge… too much)

Barbara:

Barbara died on October 31st 1960. The date itself isn’t necessarily important (other than it being her 16th birthday) and I’m sure that was probably planned since early on. My issue is that it’s implied that Barbara was supposed to go to a “Witch’s Ball” that night on Halloween. This could be figured out by a flyer inside her room.

Of course, if you’ve played the game you know what happened. My question is however:

Who plans a ball on a Monday?

Sure it’s Halloween but in every case I’ve experienced in real life they simply moved the date to the nearest Saturday or Friday (so either it happens before or after Halloween, more often before, in this case on the 28th or 29th). It was the 60s but still, a ball on a Monday? School is assumingely out, but it still confuses me.

Gus:

Gus died on November 8th 1982 during his father second wedding:

This wedding could have been planned for any day, especially since it was in their backyard meaning they didn’t have to hire a church or whatever. Again, I just have to ask, why did they decide to get wed on a Monday? In Barbara’s case I could defend it saying they wanted it to happen on Halloween no matter what, but what importance does November 8th hold? Couldn’t they just move it to a weekend or what? I understand that sometimes you gotta ignore reality and just pretend it isn’t literally the start of the week, but here I feel like 1 google search and they could have change the date to the 12th or 13th (the 13th might actually have been pretty cool considering how and why Gus died).

Sam:

Okay this one doesn’t bug me like the others, I just wanted to point out this man took his daughter on a hunting trip on a Thursday. I mean, I don’t remember exactly how long he said they were going to be gone but either way I think it’s funny. Also the fact he died 4 days before his son’s birthday (Gus is already dead at this point but still) and 1 day before his father’s birthday (again, Sven is long dead).

i’m growing progressively more irritated with how a good majority of the fandom and overall player base has decided to write gale off as “desperate dude who is immediately in love with the player for merely breathing next to him and can’t take a no.” all due to a launch date bug that has long since been patched. gale loves and feels deeply. and when his budding relationship with tav progresses further, it shows just how deprived of genuine affection he is and how much he craves for it to be returned with the same intensity and dedication, but i wouldn’t ever call him desperate. he has been voluntarily celibate and isolated from society for a long time before he met tav and even when they meet and their relationship slowly develops, he has no intention to immediately jump their bones.

his romance is a slow-burn, that is filled with mutual pining until at least ACT 2, because there are simply too many reasons why it can’t happen before that. gale is also rather adamant regarding his boundaries, if the player decides to pursue a romance with another character while with him, brings up the idea of a poly relationship with halsin or cheats on him with mizora. it’s literally a simple: “these are my boundaries, either you’re with me or not.” he doesn’t stay with them nor is he willing to compromise just to please them. he doesn’t try to deflect how hurt he is either. he explicitly states that he misjudged you and that broken trust is something he’s not willing to tolerate in a relationship.

gale will give his entire heart to you and he wants the same in return.

like not to be a killjoy or @ anyone specifically or anything, especially bc if you don’t remember the full episode the context probably doesn’t really come across from the gifset alone and it’s not that memorable an episode otherwise, but the fact that like every comment on the post of that scene from 4x15 first contact is just along the lines of “haha funny slutty riker moment” is. I don’t love it? I’m sure it was originally intended to play as a joke but in context he’s stuck on a planet with people coming for him and the one person willing to help him escape is like “well I’ll only do it if you have sex with me” which is like. idk man that’s not freely given consent and I don’t really think assuming he actually wanted to do it makes anything better.

Remember when the whole ordeal with s2 was that Ed was so heartbroken that Stede left him that he tried to get himself and the whole crew killed and then they got reunited within like 2 episodes and never spoke about anything of interest together and then that same Ed decided to ditch Stede after a couple of days because he wanted to catch fishes and that lasted half an episode before they got reunited again and the show ended on them leaving everyone to live in a simultaneously doomed to fail/happy ending inn and everyone was like wow good writing I can’t believe this could get canceled $10k billboard in times square

Hazbin Fuck My Life

i adore hazbin hotel, i think it’s amazing, but i can’t help but wonder if i just have low standards or am an absolute dumbass because clearly it has issues that i never spotted until someone brought it up, and even then i thought it was fine(like the pacing for the eps. in general i’m cool with it but i will admit - five months passing in five eps? like are you fucking serious??? that’s insane, what the hell)

and then when i feel smart about deciding that gee, alastor was uncharacteristically crude in ep 5, suddenly i feel like the idiot again because all the comments on videos of him cursing lucifer out are saying how it’s such a good way to show how much lucifer pisses him off. i mean, i saw that too, but it still felt incredibly jarring at the time. and now i’ve conformed to public opinion and i genuinely think it’s fine too. go me. (that or it’s that the shock has worn off and i just think alastor saying “fuck you” is funny)

i fucking hate everything here. i don’t want to be one of viv’s blind stans but i don’t want to be one of her blind haters either, nor do i want to go down the rabbit hole of “what fucked up shit has she done in the past decade” or whatever the hell it is that makes people despise her so much. am i lazy? am i willfully ignorant? or am i making the wise choice to avoid potentially meaningless and petty discourse?
