Tumblr media
𝙸𝙸𝙸.
Leon curses under his breath, not knowing why you’re tempted to go up to the guy and introduce yourself to him—didn’t you just say that you hated men? Even Leon could tell that in your first meeting, how you turn him away. No one ever turn him away, not even his greatest enemies.
Every time Leon is out to a visible sight, you scold him and ask him to stay behind you. He just wanted to shove you to him but then he remembered, he’s awkward with women just as you were awkward to starting a conversation with a guy.
Two people met that’s awkward to interact with their opposite sex.
Leon mutter encouragement to you, his tone uninterested but tries to hide it. You think Leon supports you with your judgement, trust me. He doesn’t, he can’t shake of some feeling.
As if the brunette guy is bad news.
The following day ended, and class ended yet again. With you dejected and sulking, Leon watch you eat your lunch when lunch already ended. You spend your lunch time trying to gather courage but didn’t and now, here you are.
Ranting to Leon and shaking him aggressively, as if he’s so convinced that violence is your love language. You accepted defeat and stood up from the bench, where you and Leon sat together, “I’ll be back, getting another drink from the cafeteria.” You said and walked away, Leon watch you—finally inside the cafeteria and bought your drink.
Then a figure came up to you, it was that guy.
Leon squint his eyes, stood up and slide your bag to his shoulder—he doesn’t know why he’s being extra protective when both of you were just college student, heck—Leon is older than you, seven years age gap.
Your conversation with the guy was a bit awkward, but he has a great communicating skill and overlook your awkwardness. “We’ll be hosting a party, all students are invited so me and my pals came looking for you to invite you.” He said, catching a glimpse that Leon’s finally behind you.
You were stunned, you were mesmerized by his smile and his voice (although Leon’s is so much better, but go girl) you accepted the invite immediately, without thinking that your father and step-mom would even agree to let you out.
“expect me to be there!” you said, then coming home in a panic and throwing all your problem to Leon, who clearly doesn’t even know if he’s a therapist or your bodyguard anymore.
“You can’t go.” Leon said, “your father said no parties.”
“Fuck!” you curse and flop down to your bed, clearly throwing a fit. “can you talk my father about it, please?” you beg, looking up at Leon’s icy blues. Leon shakes his head, “not a chance, princess. That would mean that I’m questioning his orders.”
You groan and hit your head with the pillow, “I’ll ask him myself!” and you did, got downstairs and barging into your father’s office with your step-mom in his lap, they flinched and the woman got off of your fathers lap.
You twitch and want to throw your high heels at them, you refrain of course. You badly wanted to go to that party, they even said that Sarina will be there—so a familiar face will keep you comforted in the party, “Father.” You start and walk towards his desk.
“may I go to a friends party?” you asked, your voice polite and this was the first time you asked your father anything, it’s always been him gifting you without you asking because he’ll always spot you looking at items in the mall then buying it for you—maybe because he thinks you’re shy, no?
“No you c—” step-mom’s got cut off by my father, “I mean, honey. This is the first time you asked me for anything, if it’s your happiness. How could I say no?” he said, you jump in excitement thinking that he said yes, but there’s a catch. “But dear, the outside is too dangerous for you. The reports hasn’t stop and it worries me that you might get targeted.”
“I can protect myself, isn’t that why I learn martial arts?”
“Even if you do know how to protect yourself, facing the situation for the first time will leave you stunned and weak. You have no experience in the streets, you have experience on the field where you train and take down opponents who had consent to fight you.” Your step-mom pointed out, and you don’t want to argue but she’s right.
Thanks to them, you haven’t encountered those type of things, they keep you safe here in the confinement of a house that’s been barely a home to you. They have money, they can buy whatever you asked but you feel like a bird in a cage.
Only singing and attracting limited audiences, a golden cage where you—the bird, sit pretty and shielded from the world. Even if you call it a Golden Cage, it’s still a cage, right?
“You can go.” Your face light up when your father said that, “but you have to take Leon with you, if not. No party.” Your step-mother added, you frown and storm out of the room.
Leon follows when you bump into him at the door, he’s been standing there and observe you. He doesn’t step in because it’s between family.
You felt so suffocated in this house, every wall feels like it’s shrinking and trying to crush you slowly. You hate it here, hate every décor and stuff that you have. You wish to have your mother here, comforting you and singing you your favorite lullaby.
You heard you name called out and a knock on the door, “princess?” it was Leon, he came in and sat at the edge of the bed—keeping his distance as he watch you sulk and be sad in your bed. Wanting to root away and have no life.
“Your parents do have a point.”
“I know…” you said in defeat, your voice hardly let out those words as you were trying to hold tears.
“But it’s just so suffocating, if I take you with me. I’ll ruin the mood, because it’ll be uncomfortable to have an agent standing guard and following me all the time.” You mutter and rolled yourself like a burrito with your blanket, you eyes teary as a tear slip to your temple.
Leon wants to wipe those tears away, really. He felt an ache deep in him, seeing you in pain and sharing your burden to him made him feel sympathy towards you—even though you mistook his gaze as pitying you.
“I have a proposal.” Leon said, his tone remain the same, “you’ll go to the party, but you have to update me every thirty minutes,” he said, “but I need you there in the party.” You mutter, sniffling and sitting up and remain a burrito.
“I know, but we have to make them think that I’m with you in the party.” He said, gesturing you to scoot a bit closer, “perfect timing that the D.S.O needed me for something.” He added. Soothing your back as you lay your head against his shoulder.
“I just have to keep updating you every thirty minutes, hm?” you asked to confirm, Leon nodded and took out his phone and asked for your phone. He sets it up to 30 minutes timer so you’ll know when to update him and when he’ll know you’ll be texting him.
“If you don’t text me, I’ll barge in to the party and take you home.” He added and chuckle at his own words, you nodded and hugged him. “Thank you so much, Leon!” you said and gave him a small peck on the cheek, you don’t even know why but you’re too enthusiastic to care.
This made Leon smile, seeing you happy because you’ll have time to be with people whom you’re familiar with in a party. Your friend would be truly shock if she sees you without your bodyguard and that your parents agreed to this.
A few hours later, you two arrived at your destination. Leon used his motorcycle to take you to your party, you were so excited that you were humming and being all giggly the whole ride.
“Remember, update me every thirty minutes.” He said, you nodded, “yes, sir!”
“Don’t drink too much alcohol, in fact—don’t even drink alcohol, a cocktail is fine.” Leon said and you gave him the helmet you wore back. “If you’re into trouble, hit me up, okay?” he spoke in a worried and low tone. Showing that he’s worried and not wanting you to be in great danger.
You nodded and waved him goodbye as he left.
You entered the venue and people are already drinking and playing games, Sarina’s at the table talking to someone. Her attention was snapped away and shrieked, “oh my god, girl!” she said and walk towards you, eyeing you up and down, “slay queen.”
“Come, have a drink.” She offer, “I can’t drink alcohol.” You said, ordering a cocktail because you knew better than getting wasted, and you kept Leon’s words in mind.
“I am just surprised your parents let you attend,” Sarina took a sip, can’t stop smiling at you. “Actually, they really didn’t let me—” before you could finish, Sarina gasp and smack your shoulder, “girl! I didn’t knew you’re a troublemaker.”
“bitch, I am not done talking.”
“my bad, bro.”
You both laugh, “I can go party if I tag Leon along.” She raised a brow, “then, where is he?”
“He planned this out for me, I just need to update him every thirty minutes to ensure that I am safe while he was needed back at the agency.”
Sarina nodded, taking in your words. “wow, never knew you two were in it, huh?” she smirked, “you two a thing.” You shake your head, “you wish!”
“girl, I’ll steal him away from you!”
“You’re too much a pussy to even try, Sarina.”
The party went well, and people are dancing. You kept your word and every time your phone vibrates, you’ll text Leon how was the party for you and that you assure him that you’re only drinking cocktails, not alcohol.
Sarina’s almost wasted, and the others were sleeping in the soft cushion of the chairs, while others played shot games. You enjoy to watch from the side as the brunette walked up to you—striking an opportunity since you’re all alone.
“hi.”
“oh!” you placed down your drink, “hello.” You greeted back, “enjoying yourself?” he asked, you nodded and share to him that this was actually your first time partying since your parents wouldn’t really let you. Why are you even sharing personal information with this stranger?
Your phone vibrates again, “sorry, let me take this quick. I don’t want to worry Leon.” You said and walked a few feet away from the barstool, texting your bodyguard.
Little did you know, he drugged your drink. Putting on a weird liquid in and mixed it with a toothpick. Then putting it away, after you texted Leon, you came back and held your drink. Taking small sips and enjoying your conversation with the brunette.
It's getting late too, and the drug starts to kick in.
“Sorry, I’m feeling a bit weird.” You excuse yourself, you walk towards the wall and support your back there—taking out your phone and trying to text Leon without trying to fall unconscious.
“Leon, I felt weird. I need you asap.” You sent then blacked out, your phone dropped.
The brunette catches you before you take a fall in the fall, he grab your phone and brought you upstairs.
Tumblr media
Leon was called by his friends, not the D.S.O itself but it still counts, right? He’s with Chris, Rebecca, Claire and Luis. Having coffee while Luis excuse himself to smoke out, they were having a wholehearted conversation.
“So, how’s being a bodyguard?” Chris asked, Leon shrug and gave a small smile, “not bad, although she’s a bit sometimes.” Rebecca nodded and Claire’s taking a sip of her drink.
Ding—
The sound of Leon’s phone notification, the room fell silent and look at him, “excuse me.” He said and took out his phone, his expression dropping and his hand gripping tightly around the drink he’s holding till it exploded and got his hand burnt by the hot coffee.
“Jesus, Leon!” Claire gasp, Rebecca quickly took a towel and wrapped it around Leon’s burnt hand, “Geez, what are you thinking? What happen?” Chris asked, noticing how Leon’s frown and his quick change of demeanor.
“I got to go, now.” His voice is firm and urgency, the three only nodded to each other and followed Leon—incase that Leon’s in need of help.
“hey, guys. I bought some do—” Luis quickly got his back to the wall to the group of that almost look like an angry mob, “h-hey!” Luis called, “Sorry, Luis! Leon got something urgent.” Rebecca shouts for Luis to hear, “So it’s just me and the donuts.” Luis mutter and got inside the room again, alone.
Leon tried calling you a few times, but no avail. “God fucking damn it!” he curses, “she isn’t picking up her phone.” He said to the group, “is she in danger?” Chris asked, “if she sent that kind of text where she said she felt weird, it’s a possibility.” Rebecca answered Chris question than receive a silent answer from Leon.
“Do we have a plan? Or do we just barge in?” Claire asked, as they finally arrived to the car. Chris took the wheel while Leon’s at the passenger seat, the girls at the back. “Don’t have time to think of a plan, the party needs to pause as I get her out.”
“I knew leaving her alone is a bad idea.” Leon beat himself to it, “it’s not your fault, you just want her to have fun.” Rebecca assured, “it’s not like you can control the events and when will it happen, don’t beat yourself up.” Claire said and Chris got the car to a speed.
Ignoring every traffic jam and signs, good thing they use the agency’s car rather than a normal one. Or else, cops would chase them and ticket them for speeding. But since they’re agents, they get a pass because it’s official business.
“Come on, come on…” Leon mutter, his grip to the handle almost deadly and feels like it’s going to break. His head is swirling to possible scenario on what would’ve happen to you if he didn’t arrived in time, is he too late?
What if you got kidnapped?
What if you were violated against your will?
What if you were already dead?
These thoughts would eat Leon, if you were murdered—he wouldn’t forgive himself, heck even put a bullet up to his head because he failed to protect you. He was suppose to protect you, but it feels like he’s already failing his duty as your bodyguard.
Chris arm extended to squeeze Leon’s shoulder, his attention were snatch away from his thoughts. Chris gave Leon an assuring look, “trust me, she’s safe and no harm will be done. We’ll there on time.”
Chris was right, after ten minutes, they finally arrived to the venue—barged right in with gun in hand and ordered everyone to stay on their grounds, Leon spotted Sarina—your friend, passed out in one of the cushion chaired, “Chris, escort this girl at the car. She passed out from drinking.” Chris nodded and carried Sarina out.
Leon turn to the brunette who froze in place, he walked up to him and grabbed him by the collar, “where is she?” his voice low and deadly, “I-I don’t know, man.” The guy stuttered, Leon lost it and got the guy off of his feet and pushed him against the bar counter.
“I won’t hesitate to shoot.” Leon threatens, “Leon, that’s too far!” Claire shouted, the brunette plead for his life and gave Leon your whereabouts, “u-upstairs, second door bedroom. She’s with two guys in there, but I-I swear I don’t have anything to do with it!” Liar.
Lies.
All lies.
That’s what swarm in Leon’s head, he threw the guy at Chris feet and Chris didn’t asked and just held the man up, handcuffed him and stayed on the ground.
Leon panicked, adrenaline kicking in as he went upstairs to the second door bedroom—kick the door and there you were, passed out and two almost naked guys surrounding you.
Leon shot them each of their knee, hearing their scream reach downstairs where guests feared their life in angering the more dangerous and well-known agent.
Leon got up to you, sleeping so soundly as if you do not have a care in the world. You flutter your eyes open, “Leon?” you utter weakly, “I’m here, princess.” Leon crouch down and your eyes met.
“You came.”
“You called.”
You nodded and yawn, “I’ll be sleeping, too tired. Did I party too hard?” you asked, your smile never disappearing and Leon nodded, “yes, you did.” You got drugged.
Leon took off his leathered jacket and placed it on top of you, then carried you like a bride and came downstairs, “two men upstairs, turn them in to the police and file for use of drugs and attempt assault.” Leon didn’t know who’s he is talking this to, probably to the three of them to hear.
Claire took the lead up and followed by her brother.
“You take her home, we’ll deal with this.” Rebecca spoke and salute to you, Leon mouthed her thank you and took a cab home. Your home, where he’s there and you’re safe.
It was already late, but he wasn’t late to save you. Time check: 9:50 PM, the cab arrived to your house as Leon took you out from the cab and carried you inside your home. “Oh, god!” your step-mom exclaimed, “did she partied too hard?” your father asked, “she did.” Leon lied, he knew you didn’t even drink to be this passed out.
You were drugged, but he lied for you.
“I’ll take her to her room.” Leon excuse himself and you, bringing you to your room and lying you there. You whine and smudge your makeup as you toss and turn, he stay sitting on the edge of your bed. Brushing off strands of hair from your face.
If he didn’t arrived in time, you would’ve been in pain, violated nor even did something worse, he wouldn’t ever forgive himself if that happened.
“I won’t let you out of my sight, ever again.”
You open your eyes again and giggle at Leon when he lean in to whisper those words, but you’re too sleepy to make out of it. He held your hand, and you squeeze it. Your chest rising up and down, finally relaxing your face and sleeping soundly.
“You deserve to know what happened, I’ll tell when you wake up. But for now, I am here to protect you, princess.”

this is so fucking goofy im so sorry MASTERLIST
AO3 VERSION
REQUEST BOX
~
You couldnt help but stare at your screen while in a safe area at the character you've been controlling. The sight of him made you want to kick your feet and twirl your hair like a schoolgirl who had a crush.
You see, the remake to one of your favorite games had just come out and you intended on spending the whole weekend playing the game from start to finish. Well, that was the plan, until you started staring at the protagonist with heart eyes. The way the devs modeled him was… oh boy. The things you would do to him.
You couldnt help it though, Leon Kennedy was a looker, there was a reason why you, among many other people, simped heavily for him.
Man, why cant you be real? you thought silently to yourself, continuing to stare directly at him. Although you were alone, you couldnt help but feel like someone was watching you while you eyed him.
that was when something unexpected happened.
"y'know, im flattered, but are you gonna keep ogling me or are we gonna get a move on?" a familiar voice spoke in an annoyed tone.
that earned a jump from you. did… did leon just… address you? you looked at your screen to see Leon looking at you, a disappointed look present on his face and arms crossed.
"Yeah, you… y'know its rude to stare, right?"
You sat there in shock, he WAS talking to you. but HOW? this was supposed to be something that was one-sided. why was he talking to you?
"cat got your tongue?" he sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"w…wait have you been able to see me this whole time?" you asked hesitantly. "and… hear what i say??"
He gave you a small smirk "yeah, you could say that"
"uhhh" you trailed off, scratching the back of your head gently "well this is embarrassing". Since you deducted that he could hear you, you realized that he most likely had heard your thirsty comments about him. and that was enough to fluster you. "sorry for the comments" you mumbled, almost embarrassed by your actions
you heard a soft chuckle in response "dont worry, im used to it by now…" he replied "but i bet youre confused right about now, am i right?"
you sat up in your chair, putting down your controller before making eye contact with him once more. You had so many questions but you werent even sure if you were to get any answers to them. you started out with a simple one; "so… how long have you been able to hear what ive been saying?"
"since you started playing the other day, i'd say" he responded flatly.
"gotcha, gotcha…" you responded. "guess i gotta watch what i saw now since i know you can hear me now…" you twiddled your thumbs in pure embarrassment.
"hey, like i said, its all good," he reassured "im kinda flattered that people see me like that"
you picked up your controller again, ready to move on with the game "i think im gonna keep playing now" you mumbled "do you just… emulate what im doing with my controller or… how does this work?"
"something like that… lead the way" you heard him say in response.

HC again - Leon gets some piercings for you because he wants you to swoon
Warnings: I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT LEON OR RE, PLS FORGIB, MAINLY SWEET RE2 LEON BUT APPLY WHEREVER YOU WANT, MENTION OF NEEDLES, PIERCINGS, STABBIN' but not graphic and not really painful, real soft Leon, IMPLIES READER IS PIERCED. BIT NSFW IT'S A BIT SUGGESTIVE I'M SORRY
Reader age, relationship, gender etc unspecified so have fun!!!
Leon stares at you from his chair, within arms reach but as if he were tens of meters away. He's gripping his arm-rests firmly but clearly trying to look cool as he looks around and back at you, making large head motions that sway his fringe around dramatically.
This is how I usually act, right? He thinks, slightly desperate as he smirks and nods at you, giving you his best 'I'm so calm, cool and collected right now', but harbouring on rizz face.
His right leg bounces up and down quickly but not too harshly but this is also just a sign of his general anxiety.
Leon had no idea what piercings you'd liked on a guy. In fact, he'd told you that he just wanted to get a piercing, and wondered if you'd like to come along. Convenient. He thought of getting ear-piercings but didn't want to be too boring. Then he thought you might like a tongue or lip piercing. He shivered at the thought of how you might pay attention to them-...
Aha! That was it! A septum piercing! All the cool boys had one, he thought, and he noticed how you seemed to always notice them. Besides if either of you didn't like it, he could just flip it up and hide it. So that's what Leon was gonna do today, he was gonna get his nose stabbed, because he wanted you to find him hot... A subtle gesture that you definitely wouldn't correlate to him liking you, no less.
Leon was smiling at you and making small-talk until the piercer appeared, preparing his tools and explaining the procedure to Leon. Suddenly his voice was dry and hoarse. His replies were curt, one worded and stuttered, "Y-yeah?" "Uh-uhuh" "S-sure, sure y-yep..."
His leg shook a little more wildly and his hands tightened their grip on the leather arm-rests, causing the material to bulge between his whitened digits. The piercer, being a little worried, checked Leon was ok, to which Leon, trying to act cool assured him that he's 'been through much worse' and is "SO READY, man!".
After a lot of convincing, as the needle approached Leon's nose, his hand quickly shot out, grabbing yours tightly. You could feel how sweaty and clammy he'd been. And was he... shaking? Poor thing. He was terrified. You watched as his wide eyes relaxed a little at holding onto you, especially as you held him back.
He quickly realises he's not being 'cool enough' and takes a deep breath, narrows his eyes and stares forward. Leon's hopefulness is clouding his vision. The game is over, you know he's a terrified little puppy, and an adorable one at that, but he's trying so hard to be brave, just for you, so you make a note to humour him after as you stroke his hand reassuringly, trying not to giggle.
After Leon is pierced and a nice ring sits in his nose, his hand jumps up fast (almost hitting a disgruntled piercer) to wipe up a stray tear welling in his puppydog manly eye and glares at you as if trying to will your subconscious gently into forgetting what it saw. He swallows thickly and folds his arms, macho.
"You were so brave in there, I'd have been balling my eyes out", you lie generously to him on your walk home. Part of him wonders if that's the truth as he gazes at all of the jewellery on you that highlights just how stunning and flawless he sees you as every day, but the majority of his shy ego lets his chest well up and his face redden at your comment. He very nearly accidentally lets the words "anything for you" slip out, but substitutes it for a shaky chuckle, still in some bruising pain.
For the next few weeks, months even, Leon LOVES to hear you compliment his new decoration. He points to it jokingly and uses it to 'win' arguments about him being a wuss, him not like piercings, him not being a bad boy or living on the wild side, etc.
He loves having this similarity to you, and wholeheartedly believes it's brought you both closer. He loves using it to include himself with you. "Us metal heads" and "us absolute rebels" are some of the very cheesy, very cringe things he likes to say whilst pulling you close into a strong, brief embrace with one arm.
He's thinking about getting more piercings. Especially some of the ones you have and like because he thinks you're absolutely smokin' with them, so it might help him. He's also thinking about that tongue one for... reasons. He also thinks sometimes about any hidden ones you might have... that he might be able to tempt you into showing him with the excuse that 'he has one so it's ok!' Or the reasoning that he's curious and wondering what looks good. Cheeky boy!
Ultimately, Leon respects you so much more now, if that were even possible. That was such a small piercing he got yet it hurt like a bitch. You, in his eyes, were an absolute beast. He loved you so, so much.

(1.05am) Lup: you might be a red robe but that's not necessarily a red flag. wanna get lunch some time?
(1.20) Red Robe: oh boy I just knew this was a bad idea
(1.21) Lup: listen if you'd wanted my number you just needed to ask. What did you do, steal my phone and swipe right?
(1.22) Lup: because imagine my surprise when I reinstall tinder on my stone and find that I matched with an evil ghost. I've made some bad decisions on this app but that isn't one of them
(1.26) Red Robe: maybe it was a butt swipe
(1.26) Red Robe: like a butt dial
(1.26) Red Robe: you know
(1.27) Lup: god, you're so much less spooky on tinder than in person
(1.28) Lup: although I knew that already. your pictures make you look like a dork
(1.29) Red Robe: what? I like those pictures.
(1.30) Lup: well, okay, number one, the fish pic is always a bad look. no woman sees a man holding a big fish and thinks "I'd fuck that"
(1.31) Lup: and number two, no pictures of small animals. stick a dog in there or something. I'm thinking a jack russell terrier
(1.31) Lup: also, "my interests include: magiscience and being a nerd"? c'mon man get some better hobbies. even walks on the beach would be an improvement
(1.35) Red Robe: okay the fish pic was a joke
(1.35) Red Robe: this whole profile was a joke. I didn't even realise tinder was still installed on my stone
(1.36) Lup: ah, a joke profile, but then you saw me and fell in love at first sight, just had to swipe right. happens to the best of us
(1.37) Lup: well, it doesn't happen to me, I'm the one making other people fall in love. tough job but someone's gotta do it
(1.54) Red Robe: so, downloading tinder. looking for love on the moon must be tough. getting anywhere?
(1.55) Lup: don't think you can mine me for information
(1.55) Lup: IM mining YOU for information, it'd just be embarrassing if we were both at it. it's not even mining at that point, just two idiots digging holes
(1.56) Red Robe: I'm not trying to mine you for information!
(1.56) Red Robe: just genuinely curious. How is life on the moon?
(1.58) Lup: pretty rad, I guess. I get as many hot dogs as I can steal from fantasy costco and you can jump SO high because of the low gravity. me and ko keep getting up on the roof and throwing eggs at leon
(1.59) Lup: madam director won't let us have pets, though. maybe that's why I'm so horny for jack russell terriers
(2.00) Lup: how's life, like, menacing faerun and building weapons of mass destruction
(2.05) Red Robe: nowhere near as rad as living on the moon, I bet. I live in a cave
(2.06) Lup: mmm, bad thing to admit to a tinder match, my guy
(2.06) Lup: now I'm definitely not coming home with you
(2.08) Red Robe: I actually don't have a dick in this form, so. Probably for the best?
(2.09) Lup: ah, finally, some information. sometimes has a dick. that's going in the file
(2.10) Red Robe: you've got a FILE?
(2.11) Lup: sure. spooky, red, likes fishing, has a dick - question mark?
(2.12) Red Robe: I don't like fishing!
(2.13) Lup: not denying being red, though. inchresting
(2.13) Red Robe: what are you even saying at this point
(2.14) Lup: caught
(2.14) Lup: red handed
(2.15) Red Robe: doing WHAT
(2.17) Lup: okay but for real your profile is sad. what are your hobbies. let love goddess Lup help you out. We'll fix you up with a hot lady evil red ghost in no time
(2.17) Lup: with huge bone bazongas and eyelashes on her skull so you can tell she's a girl
(2.17) Lup: or, sorry, guess I shouldn't assume. are you even into the ladies? or do you want a sexy man ghost
(2.18) Lup: with a huge bone dick
(2.18) Lup: what're you looking for
(2.20) Red Robe: either, really
(2.21) Red Robe: I don't know, someone who's brave and strong and stands up for what she believes in even if no one else does
(2.22) Red Robe: but compassionate
(2.22) Red Robe: the kind of person who'd bring you soup and comfort you if you were crying even if she didn't know you that well
(2.26) Red Robe: and huge bone bazongas obviously
(2.34) Lup: what kind of soup?
(2.36) Red Robe: hah
(2.36) Red Robe: potato, I think
(2.37) Lup: huh
(2.37) Lup: I make a mean potato soup
(2.38) Lup: maybe I'll bring a flask next time I go on a mission, just in case
(2:38) Red Robe: I mean, I can’t eat in this form, but you could come over and I could watch you eat soup
(2:40) Red Robe: wait

20 Questions for Fic Authors
Thank you @thebrandywine for the tag!! :))
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
43!
2. What is your AO3 wordcount?
113,038
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly just Resident Evil, haha, but I've dabbled in a couple other things over the years... nothing else currently, though!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I. My lone Genshin fic 😭😭 at 935 kudos (holy shit!!)
II. Ripping at the Seams with 670
III. *metal pipe sound effect* with 301
IV. Fracture with 290
V. Day 18: Ache with 253!
5. Do you respond to comments?
As much as possible!!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
:3
You tell me: is there more angst when older Leon dies, or when re2 rookie Leon does? Personally, I'm leaning on the rookie, but 'do you believe' has the added Hunnigan and Chris angst haha
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
you're my lover is just straight up Nivannedy fluff and sweetness :)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Haven't yet, thankfully!
9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?
Sometimes 😭 usually it's more of a plot relevant thing than anything else, because smut isn't always my jam--but there are exceptions!! I'm writing a crack ship re5 thing asjdjds and sometimes I do like writing scenes that involve a little sexy time, but I don't think I'd ever write it as a standalone pwp sort of thing haha
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?
No...? I mean, I have a Blade Runner au on the backburner of my infinite stove, but I've never put different characters together in a true crossover. Wrote the beginning of an Eragon + Percy Jackson + something I can't remember, when I was in like. 7th grade? But that's long gone and nothing ever came of it asdjdjs
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hopefully not... 👁️👁️
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Thought about it! It hasn't happened haha, but I'm open to the idea
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I'll be honest... ships are kind of cute adorable plot devices to me. I don't really have a favorite per se, but I do tend to prefer Chreon, Metaltango, and Nivannedy! I like Clairejill and I'm pretty invested in Ada/Hunnigan right now hehe but none of them really stands out as the OTP, y'know?
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Not sure! I tend to jump around and abandon and revive things a lot, so it's honestly just up in the air. I'm loath to put one on the chopping block, but I have my doubts about this one (OG!) re4 fic where Leon passes out during the cabin fight
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told that I have a very visceral writing style by several people, and I do often get compliments on how well I've made something feel real/captured a specific feeling! Which is a huge compliment you guys are so nice 🥺 and I do like to think that I'm good at descriptive writing!! I see things very clearly in my head and it's gratifying to know I'm getting it across fully :)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I tend to go at it without figuring out where I'm going, first. Plots are held together with a dab of white glue and some fraying string, and I often worry that I'm not putting scenes together coherently. I can do all the technical stuff just fine, but I really struggle with pacing and character motivations and foreshadowing and background etc, which I think is why I tend to write shorter fics!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
It's rarely worth it, unless there's some sort of narrative significance or I get to use my Latin knowledge for some silly villain 😭
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Bungou Stray Dogs!
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I've always been partial to Fracture
Tagging- @fonulyn, @colesabi, @lightenupcowboy, @sunhatllama, @resident-rats, and anyone else who I forgot or wants to participate! <3

2012
It was no surprise when Emily Flint got sorted into Slytherin, and no surprise when she picked the hardest subjects on the curriculum once her third year came around. But it was a surprise when she went to the Quidditch tryouts and got the Seeker position.
Teddy Lupin would have someone to train with during the holidays now, Reg preferred doing muggle-type activities during his free time, and Victoire didn't like flying. Emily was the only one in the small group of friends who had a strong love for Quidditch, which her father could not understand.
He would understand even less now, Emily thought as she glared at her broken ankle waiting to be healed.
"Bollocks," much like her father, she didn't like swearing unless she was upset, and unfortunately, that was the case. "My career is over..."
"There you are!"
Emily's face heated up at the sound of Leon's voice. However, the whirlwind of feelings that came to her was represented on her face in the form of a scowl. "If you're coming here to tease, you can do so later," she sulked.
The older boy stopped halfway to her, eyes wide. "I wanted to check on you, that was a pretty harsh fall out there—I almost jumped out of my seat to try and catch you."
Emily sank further in her bed, wishing her heartbeat would stop thumping. "I'm fine. You may leave."
Leon frowned a bit, but it was more out of confusion than annoyance. "What's your deal? You caught the snitch and your team won—aren't you proud?"
"No, I'm not proud!" Emily snapped. "I promised Dad I wouldn't be careless while playing, he doesn't want me to play—says your sister and Harry took a lot of injuries from Quidditch and you know how paranoid he is, I promised I'd be careful!"
"You can't control that," Leon shrugged, not matching her panic. "Mel couldn't, and she'd control the weather if she wanted to. You can't promise you'll be safe every second of the game."
"Dad won't let me play now," Emily groaned, not listening to him. "My time in the team is over and I had just gotten the spot! It's not fair, Quidditch is the one thing he hates that I love. It's a huge joke, this is what this is."
"C'mon, your dad's not unreasonable, he's quite the opposite," Leon insisted with a tiny smile. "You got a little excited while playing, but it's just a broken ankle, he knows you can take care of yourself."
"And what if Ellie wants to play Quidditch once she starts next August? Dad won't let her because of what happened to me—I've ruined my siblings's chances."
"Emie, you have to cut yourself some slack," the boy replied, his grey eyes darkening with concern. "Penny says you rarely spend time with friends! And every time I go visit your common room, you're rubbing your nose raw on a book."
Emily stared down at her hands. "Because I want to make my father proud. I want to be perfect so he... so I can show him that all those sacrifices he made when he was my age were all worth it."
"Hey, when your dad was our age, he did all kinds of stuff. Once he stole someone else's hair for a Polyjuice potion and knocked that girl unconscious so she wouldn't show up while Mel was pretending to be her." Leon tried not to, but a chuckle escaped him as he sat next to Emily's bed.  "He wasn't unhappy all the time. You know what he's always telling me?"
Emily's hazel eyes are fixed on the boy's face, expectant and curious. "What?"
"He says that it was thanks to my sister that he loved school, and found real friends. And... I don't know if you know, but he and my sister had a thing when she was my age."
"What!"
"Don't tell him I told you!" Leon blushed. "My point is, he wasn't sad about anything, because his parents and brother had never been mistreated for their beliefs and yet they were always angry and miserable—but he'd been beaten twice, and on both occasions, the pain was nothing because Mel was there for him."
Leon grabbed her hand and squeezed lightly. "He thinks I'm like my sister, and maybe he sees you're just like him. So, he wants me to keep an eye on you. He says every Flint needs a Sultens," he grinned. "I think us Sultens would be nothing without our Flints. You're the sole reason why I didn't end up being a brat."
"Really?" Emily laughed, though still conscious of the way Erick was holding her hand.
"I was always trying to force you to follow my rules," his smile grew. "And you would always leave me there standing. It drove me mad!"
Emily nodded, remembering a bit of it. "Yeah, you were annoying."
"Unlike Teddy and Victoire, you didn't worship me at all," he continued with amusement. "I tried to win you over but I never figured out how to get you to do what I wanted, so I gave up— accepted the world didn't revolve around me, and I became a better friend."
"And then I changed my mind," she mused.
"Yeah well, you didn't hate me, you were just nudging me in the right direction, even as a kid you were always wiser than me." His expression turned affectionate then, poor Emily had to slow down her breathing so she wouldn't faint. "But you're too obsessed with being perfect."
"I can be perfect, it's a matter of hard work!" She argued, momentarily forgetting about her feelings.
"Princess, your own father handed me the task of teaching you how to have fun! Do you know how grave the situation has to be to get that kind of order from Mr Flint, Master of introversion?"
Emily didn't want to be seen as a task, or a kid Leon had to look after. He'd always been the oldest, strongest and smartest, and she felt like a huge fraud, because the only reason she hadn't followed him around since the start, was because she'd realized Leon paid more attention to her that way.
She wondered what had caused her father to crush on Mel Dumbledore—dad wasn't interested in superficial stuff like beauty or money, he'd always said he'd fallen in love with mother because of the way she spoke, 'She's pure magic' he liked saying. She'd been the first person to make him feel interesting and special.
Judging by the things Leon mentioned, her father had been enchanted by the way Mel made his life bearable in school, because of all the good things she'd brought into his life. She'd been an advantage, not a burden.
Emily wanted to be that for Leon. She'd decided he would be the man she'd marry, but for that to happen, boundaries had to be established. The way he would call her 'Princess' wasn't even sweet to her ears, he called her that because Mel teasingly called her father 'Prince'. It was just as platonic, and it made her furious.
Leon Regulus was a good boy, but he was too self-sufficient and only followed his own rules, not even Penny could get him to do her bidding. So far he'd dated plenty of beautiful girls who fawned over him, and even if he'd never been rude, most girls couldn't stand his distant personality, they never lasted more than one or two months with him.
It was easy to lose his interest, his feelings faded quickly once the thrill of the unknown wore out. She'd once overheard his sister talking about Leon's father with Harry.
"Uncle Lu says Sirius used to date girls just to keep himself entertained with something during the times he wasn't doing mischief. That it was fun to him, but once that thrill was over so were his feelings, no girl ever got to make him stay once he'd fully known them."
"But he knew Mily, they were friends," Harry had pointed out. "And he was in love with her his whole life."
Mel took a moment to reply. "I don't know. Sirius was impulsive and kept to himself—Mum was a fun girl but I wouldn't know the reasons why he felt differently about her. He never told me."
If Leon was so much like his father—everyone always said that—then Emily had to be more like her namesake. Otherwise, she'd be overlooked, and taken for granted, and she could not have that.
"I appreciate your efforts to look after me," the girl dropped his hand. "You're right, my dad would want me to have fun—more importantly, he'd want me to have a Mel Dumbledore. But I don't think that's you."
Leon straightened up in his seat. "Why not?"
"Well, it'd be too obvious," Emily rolled her eyes. "Mel's brother being my answer is lazy—and I'm not lazy. Dad wants me to look for my person as he did, so that's what I'll do. Some boys have been trying to ask me out but I keep saying no, maybe I should reconsider."
"What boys?"
"I'll take it from here," Emily smiled even though her guts were twisting in knots, she hoped this would not backfire. "Thank you, you've opened my eyes. I won't sit around in my common room where you'd always been certain to find me. Now you'll have to search the entire castle just to catch a glimpse of me!"
The girl tried her best to sound obnoxious in a credible way because she was young, but Leon knew she wasn't stupid. There was a thin line between being obvious to the point he'd known she was up to something, and sounding like she'd truly been convinced to change her ways.
"It frustrates me when I discover there are limits to my abilities and they don't always reach where I want them to—"
"I think you're okay exactly where you are," the boy mumbled, scratching the back of his neck. His burgundy hair reflected the sunlight coming from the window.
"But I'm missing out! I want to go out on adventures with you, Teddy, and Victoire, and then Ellie once she gets here! I want to date people—and I can't do that if I follow you around like a lost pup, can I?"
"I... guess not," Leon frowned, seemingly confused. "I mean... yeah, you're right."
"I must find my way alone. It'd be silly to rely on you anyway, you graduate in a year and then I'd just fall back in my bad habits. So no, thank you."
She laid back looking pleased. If Leon decided then to really let go, her dream would die right at that moment... but she had to take a risk, it was better to not have him at all than to fall deeper in love, only for him to grow numb to her appeal.
Emily couldn't stand the idea of losing the boy she wanted to be with when he was the perfect fit, so she had to make sure he remained interested long enough until she was the right age to place her offer on the table. And if she played her cards right, he'd be begging her to take him by that time.
"I... I know I can't force you," he wrinkled his nose. "But I'd be useful to have around, you know? I know everyone, I get invited to all the parties and—"
"I'm the best seeker in school," she replied confidently. "I think I can get into any party if I just ask nicely."
"Yeah," Leon agreed, though he was no longer so joyful. "You're right, as usual..."
"Don't worry, I'll come to you if I have doubts about how to break up with someone, or my charms homework, or if I ever feel like joining the duelling club," she teased him. "I'll be around."
Leon's grey eyes got cloudier as he sank into his thoughts, Emily wished she knew Occlumancy. "Your dad will be glad, then... I should leave and... uh... Penny wanted me to help with her transfiguration parchment, so..."
"Go ahead, I won't be lonely," Emily shrugged. "Teddy and Vicky might visit after lunch."
"Yes," he replied, now sounding slightly on edge. "Teddy will want to talk your ears off about the game. I know. See you."
The boy got up and left. The way he walked out with his fists buried in his pockets and that cute pout on his face reminded her so much of the way he'd looked whenever she would defy him, that she felt this had been the right call.
Leon Regulus would soon realize he'd always been in love with her, it was only a matter of time.

I'm sorry I can't think of anything super specific to send you, but in general I'd love to hear more about how you envision the romantic aspect of their relationship and how it might develop, or they types of things they would do together.
I imagine that it starts pretty innocently -- a lot of "hey, walk with me?"
Ashley is so public of a figure and will be for at least a few years after her dad is even out of office that, after she's graduated college, she can't really go on real dates -- whether they're with Leon or not. It's just because of the way politics works and is fucked up in America. Even after her dad's time in office is done, he's still going to be the acting head of his political party and the loudest voice of support in order to get his successor elected. So, any opportunity for scandal that his political opponents can find, they're going to jump on -- even if it's something like HEY DO YOU SEE WHO HIS DAUGHTER IS DATING??????
But walks aren't dates. They're walks. People walk together all the time. And I don't think that Leon and Ashley see them as dates, either -- or even as stand-ins for dates. It's just... something that they do. It's how they hang out. As friends. Because they're friends. People are allowed to have friends.
Nevermind the fact that Leon keeps his hands shoved in his pockets the whole time in order to keep himself from innocently touching her as he talks. Or the fact that Ashley has to consciously beat down her breathless excitement and anxiety for the first five minutes of said walks because she's absolutely crazy about him but is terrified of him ever actually finding that out.
I think they're both in denial for a long time, but for different reasons. Ashley can't imagine a scenario or reality in which Leon would ever actually return her feelings, and Leon knows that anything he feels for her is inappropriate, so he tells himself he doesn't feel anything at all doesn't stop him from thinking about her when he jerks off though.
And this is where I'm of two minds. There's part of me that's really drawn to the "forbidden romantic trysts in the White House" idea because Leon kind of gets off on the danger of it, but then another part of me is like "no, they both just become really adamant about not fading from each other's lives after President Graham's term is up and, in that aggressive effort to stay close, it just boils over and they just end up furiously making out the next time they see each other in person."
But, either way, I don't see them properly dating for a long time even after the feelings come out -- like, we're talking years. Leon and Ashley both tell people they're single; they're not even seeing someone currently. But they're both very, very disinterested in going out with anyone. Maybe a few random hookups happen here and there, but it's only ever to stave off feelings of loneliness and never out of a genuine desire for/attraction to someone else.
Like, a lot of this comes down to not really knowing how the Remake story is actually going to turn out or the ways in which it's going to become different from OG, but, even then, I don't see them becoming "official" until Leon's in his mid-to-late 30s (so, probably around the time just after RE6make, whatever the fuck that's going to look like with the changes in the story).
But until they decide to eventually commit to each other and move in together, I picture their relationship as a lot of texting and long phone calls late at night because phone sex, and in person it's motorcycle rides and midnight walks through empty parks or even a night in at Leon's house -- just things that you wouldn't traditionally think of as "dates" even though they're clearly romantic in nature for anyone to see who has two good eyes in a head that's not shoved up their own ass.
And then when they are finally together, they find that nothing much really changes -- except maybe now he'll actually take her out to dinner every once in a while. And if they're very lucky and the stars align, once in a blue moon they'll be able to hit a concert together, too (because I do imagine that they have a very, very similar taste in music).
The biggest thing that really changes is the amount of time they actually get to spend together, alongside the degree to which they're both willing to be openly affectionate towards each other.

some selections from the vault (and snippets from my wip fic)
so! for those who are not following me on twitter, i recently went through my drafts for some strifehart content that i hadn't yet shared publicly! i wanted to quickly cross post so you all can see them too :)
putting it under a cut just so i dont clutter up the tag again :)
the one i had written the most for was the more recent kink meme off dreamwidth--specifically, the prompt for a superhero/vigilante au! i hadn't written very much for it (basically just the interaction below), but i had a general idea of cloud and leon's backstories. at some point, leon would show up at cid's repair shop where cloud happens to work and there'd be some fun to be had there!
Tumblr media
--
next was what i think was originally what i had planned for one of the prompts from strifehart week 2018; i think it was "witch" or "fantasy"? this one is a little more out there, sorry
but at the time, i'd recently read a fic for fire emblem fates called beyond the sea; in it, magic was kind of a rarity and the people who got power were given a brand, or star sign. i was going to do a KH-flavor twist on it for strifehart. the idea would be that cloud, squall, and tifa all worked as soldiers in a government that was hunting down these "witches" and turning them into weapons or tools of a sort. the three main ones were:
-aerith, with the mark pf phoenix; focus on healing magic -riku, sign of ifrit; mostly can only control fire as he's so young -squall, who had a rare double mark of ixion and leviathan; wind/water/lightning based magic focus, so he can basically create a hurricane at will
the idea was for cloud and tifa to find out they've been ordered to abduct a kid and defect, especially after finding out their friend aerith is also someone wanted by the government. squall, meanwhile, has had enough of hiding and kind of loses it when he finds out riku is the latest kidnap victim. they all end up traveling together, and...i had no real plans aside from that. part of why this never ended up being finished/posted, haha. the most coherent part was below, though i jumped ahead to try and write cloud seeing squall going all out with his magic
Tumblr media
--
the third is a twist on spirited away/the boy and the beast/song of the sea.
kid squall ends up in a fantasy world after being separated from his sister ellone, and is found/taken in by werewolf zack and dryad/nymph aerith. they have to hide that squall is a human and pretend he's a baby werewolf and he ends up getting found out on a big festival day. but he'd end up on a quest with cloud, who was a selkie, as a way to keep him/zack/aerith from being banished. no concrete plot ideas for this one either, unfortunately, so it's not gotten anywhere, even if i had a cool scene in my mind for squall getting outed as a human :( (but i had a track off the boy and the beast ost scoring a big fight zack gets into when squall gets found out)
Tumblr media
--
i had no other major fics planned aside from my current WIP, but here's a snippet from a drabble i was fiddling with where leon gets sick and doesn't realize it, just because i like how i used to write his interactions with yuffie
Tumblr media
--
ANYWAY here's some snippets from/about my current WIP, a song without its melody.
first up is actually a piece i had wanted to be in my main longfic, a little bit of levity, but ended up being cut. it was intended to go after the scene i have of leon and sora in song (since it was a scene that i had to cut from levity that i managed to fit back in), but with how leon's interactions with roxas and xion have changed, i had to leave it in my scraps doc! it is, generally, the vibe i kind of want for leon's relations with roxas and xion respectively
Tumblr media
next are just some snippets from upcoming sections, so please look forward to it! :3c

Which do you prefer? Lament Of Innocence or Curse Of Darkness? (I probably already know the answer but I wanted to hear you say it)
I don't know what prompted this question with a very obvious answer 😂
Curse of Darkness. Not even in a "I love both games, but if I had to pick one..." way. For me, CoD curbstomps LoI in everything that matters. The only thing I will concede is that LoI has the superior art direction - for example, Ghostly Theatre is so pretty, and I wish CoD didn't commit so much to the idea that the Curse is making all of Europe bleak and desolate :\
My opinion on both games hardly changed in a year. I still don't hate LoI or think it's a completely awful experience, but it simply doesn't appeal to me and I have no desire of going back to it, even just to experiment with the admittedly cool subweapon spells. With CoD, I had reason to practice with stealing and crafting, and that alone made me enjoy the game even more - it's fun! The gameplay loop of fighting to get materials to craft stronger weapons to evolve your IDs with is super fun for me! It's like the Chao Garden in the Sonic Adventure games, except I get to sic my babies against bosses 😂
In fact, I must correct myself on this: I prefer Joachim Mode over Trevor Mode. The thing is that, while Trevor is a joy to control and I love how he shreds through bosses like melted butter, removing the core of the game (Devil Forging and weapon crafing) takes away everything that makes the game so fun for me, and emphasizes the flaws in the level design. Joachim Mode, on the other hand, removes part of the platforming and constant backtracking to find keys and such, and that? That improves the games significantly for me. But it doesn't change the fixed camera, the terrible depth perception, the stiff jumps (Hector doesn't jump well either, but he doesn't need to 🙃), and of course the incentive to fight the hordes of enemies that block your way - I don't like how in most alternative modes you don't level up by defeating enemies, and guess what? I don't like that it's a main feature in LoI!
(also, I still don't understand why I can't select items through the normal pause menu. that was a big brained decision.)
From what I've seen this is a huge unpopular opinion: I'd take in a heartbeat CoD's flat corridors that make you focus on Hector's powers and fighting skills (where fighting is 100% beneficial for your progress) over LoI's insistence on clunky platforming and forced backtracking. Leon ain't that much faster than Hector anyway 🙄
... well, at least both soundtracks are peak Michiru Yamane. I once again prefer CoD's more upbeat, even rock direction, but LoI's atmospheric music has something magical to it, and you can tell Yamane was relieved that she could finally use real instruments :)

Applin Of My Eye Ch2 An Unexpected Reunion
Tumblr media
Warning: The wooloo is in bad condition but they are ok. Feel free to suggest a name for the new wooloo you'll get later.
Postwick.
The most perfect small town of memories and happiness you've come to know and adore. Filled with friends- ...No . Family. And experiences you'd never forget even after you'd be long gone. In ways that would change you for the better forever. You'd happily call this place your permanent home. Your REAL home that you've never had before you had tumbled out of the sky and met your friends and they became your family. You'd happily stay here forever if you could. And you would. Stay in Galar you mean. This was your home now. You had no desire to leave it or your new family behind in this wonderful region, but you did have a desire to spread your wings and live independently, which was why you broke the news to your friends and land lady that morning.
"What?! But couldn't you just find somewhere in Postwick to live? I'm sure there's somewhere if you looked."
You expected this reaction from Hop. The purple haired boy would be sad to see his friend go considering Gloria was currently being trained by Kabu. Beside him Victor seemed just as surprised looking at you too. Everyone seemed to be surprised by your words when you announced it but held up a hand to calm them all down.
"I'm not leaving yet, Hop. I haven't even found a place to move too, but I don't want to rent your mom's basement forever either. I love it here and I really like being around you guys, but there's no where available in Postwick to live, and soon I'd really like my own place to stay. I just wanted to let everyone know in advance."
"Well you're not going anywhere far right?'
"Like I said I haven't decided yet. But you shouldn't worry about it. When Im ready,  you'll be the first people I'll be telling."
The two teen boys didn't look too convinced but luckily Mrs. L came in to your rescue. "Now boys. You shouldn't expect Y/n to live in our basement forever." She spoke calmly. "She's a young woman with her own life to live just like Leon and everyone else. You should be understanding for her." Both instantly dialed back and relaxed. At least you didn't wait until last minute to tell them. "Have you gotten any idea of where you'll be going?"
You blinked at her. "Huh? Oh. No. Not yet. But I was hoping for somewhere quiet." You sighed. "After all I've been through, it would be a nice change to just have a little peace and quiet for once."
"I understand that. If you need help with finding anyplace, I can make a few calls to some friends I have in the country side to see if they know anyone selling."
"That'd be great! Thanks!" You smiled.
"In the meantime, would you run an errand for me?" Mrs. L asked holding up a small piece of paper. "I have to clean out the shed today. Would you run out and get the groceries while I'm busy?"
"Oh sure!" You smiled and took the list from her. At the mention of getting food, Silver perked up from the floor. "I'd be happy to help!"
Mrs. L nodded.  "Maybe the boys could go with you too? Get out of the house for a bit."
"And why would I want to get groceries?," Hop asked.
"Because that would just leave you to help me clean out the shed."
Immediately Hop jumped up. "Oh hey! Look at the time! C'mon Y/n. Those stores won't stay open all day!"
Victor just groaned and rolled his eyes but you just chuckled. Typical day with Hop, and you wouldn't change him for the world. Nonetheless you followed him out with Victor and Silver trailing behind you probably most interested in the food you'd  be buying for Mrs. L. So out into the sunny outside you went  up the road to the local general store, it'd be a twenty minute trip at most with the store being so close. But with two easily curious teenagers and a constantly hungry pokemon at your heels, it'd be more like an hour long trip. Sigh. Oh well. You didn't mind too much. It was on the way back however that would be strange. And it all started right after you all left the store with two giant paper bags in your arms with Hop and Victor following you by your sides.
"I can't believe there was all these oran berries on sale. Can you believe that?" Hop held up the small bag of blue berries. "They're Dubwool's favorite snack! Not only are they good for him, they're incredibly sweet! I'm sure they'll love it!"
You all were just crossing the small bridge back up the path towards Hop's home. No doubt Mrs. L would still be working by the time you all got back there. Unknowns to all of you that there would be something slowly creeping towards the lot of you. Slowly. Weakly. Hungry. Attracted by the smell of sweet berries. As you all passed over the bridge it crept ever closer.
"I'm pretty sure that dubwool of yours would eat any food if you let it."
"Hey! That's not true! Sides that's more of Y/n's drizzlie, Mate."
"Ouch. Now who's pointing fingers?" You all just got over the bridge and walked along the dirt road right next to some tall grass. Right when Silver paused and looked over at some grass moving. Before a head suddenly popped itself out of the tall grass startling the water type. In an instant Silver gave a loud chirp and ran back to you. "AH!! HEY!" You nearly toppled over when Silver suddenly tackled your leg in fright. "Silver! What's gotten into you?''
The water type chirped before wildly pointed at the tall grass and tugged on your pants leg insistently. "What is it boy?"
Victor's question was answered when your heads all turned at the sound of rustling grass all the way over to the left side of the road where you all clearly saw some of the tall grass moving, and then a foot stepped out. Followed by a head. Followed by wild curly hair. Until whatever it was stepped out into the road weakly, looked at all of you, and let out the most pathetic baa you had ever heard.
"HOLY ARCEUS!!", Hop shouted hands flying to his head in surprise eyes wide as plates, "IT'S A SHINY WOOLOO!!"
Standing there, as plain as the purple in Hops hair, was a shiny wooloo. The small wooloo was a white instead of the usual black and instead of it's wool being that pure white you were so used to seeing, it was a brown. The only thing that was the same as a regular wooloo was the grey braid like strands by its ears. It was certainly a really rare, surprising, and exciting sight to see...But-
"Hey. Why does it look so roughed up for?"
The small wooloo looked terrible! It's was all dull from an intense amount of dirt on it, it's wool looked all knitted with sticks and leaves clinging to it, and if you were seeing right it looked skinnier than a normal wooloo. It stood there lightly shaking staring at you all pathetically before baaing again. You all stood there stunned for a moment, before Hop was the first to respond.
"Hey there little guy," he softly spoke before kneeling where he stood with a small smile. "Aw. Look at how pretty you are. But you're so thin. Are you hungry?" Immediately the wooloo"s head perked up at the question especially more so when Hop held up the bag of oran berries. "Is this what you want? Look." Reaching one hand inside the bag, he quickly plucked one of the blue berries out before popping it into his mouth. "Mmm. Tasty. You want one?" Another baa. "Well come on. Come mere and get some."
The wooloo hesitated for a moment before slowly creeping towards Hop's outstretched hand, sniffing it a few times... before going straight to the bag. Hop just simply turned the bag upside down and let all the berries fall to the ground. The wooloo egarly diving to eat them up.
"Oi. The wee thing looks terrible," Victor commented watching the wooloo quickly eat, "Arceus. When 's the last time someone fed the lil 'mon?"
"I'm not sure but it does look in bad shape...But what's a shiny wooloo doing out here in the open?" Your eyes scanned around yourself but you didn't see any trainers around. Usually a rare shiny would've been captured by now wouldn't it? "Do you think it could belong to one of the farmers around here?" Maybe someone's wooloo escaped. "I doubt it's a wild one in a town full of wooloo farmers."
Hop hummed eyeing the thing before he lifted a hand to pet the poor thing. "Maybe. Hm?" But stopped when it hand ran over something that wasn't wool around its neck. "Hang on. What's this?" His hands wrapped around the thing and tugged on it before he was able to dislodge a large metal rectangle charm from it's wool, and his eyes widened. "Hey. It's got a collar on! I've got one of these for Dubwool."
"A collar?!" This wooloo had a call or? That was good! A collar meant dog tags, and dog tags usually meant an address. And an address meant an owner! "What does it say?"
Hop looked at the rectangle tag closer. "Felix Wooloo Lane Turrffield zero zero zero one B eight." He looked back up to you. "That's an address."
"Yeah. One all the way 'n bloody Turrffield! What's a wooloo from Turrffield doin' all the way 'ere in Postwick for?"
"Is there a phone number anywhere? Maybe we can call them?"
Hop looked again flipping the large tag over...before shaking his head. "Nope. Just an address."
"Well we can't just leave the poor thing here. Not like that."
"You're right, Mate." The wooloo suddenly based as Hop just grabbed it into his arms. "Let's get it home and clean it up first. I know how to detangle wooloo wool so fixing this shouldn't be a problem."
That's how the rest of your day went. Mrs. L and Hop's grandparents were surprised when Hop showed up with a poorly looking shiny wooloo squirming in his arms, but after briefly explaining explaining everything seemed alright with Hop taking the poor thing upstairs to wash it in the bathtub. Meanwhile you had dropped off the paper bags of groceries to Hop's grandmother and proceeded to wait with Victor for Hop to finish. Once and a while you could hear a panicked baa or two from upstairs, maybe a splash of water, a yell from Hop, and then the frantic sounds of a loud pair of scissors and blow dryer being ran. Three hours of waiting and waiting and waiting later, Hop finally returned triumphantly with a perfectly groomed wooloo in his arms which he proudly held up.
"There!" He breathed relieved. "He's all better now!"
The Wooloo baaed ...And Victor snickered at the sight of Hop. His clothes were a little wet from where the wooloo must've splashed him with random fluffs of brown wooloo wool sticking to his body. He did look a bit silly, but you had to admit he did a great job. The wooloo looked completely clean, and it's pretty brown wool looked just as fluffy and detangled as it should be. But it did look a bit smaller than before.
"It looks so small."
"Actually this is the common size for a wooloo," Hop explained, "But I had to sheer some of the wool off in order to get it in better shape. If my calculations are right, then nobody's groomed this wooloo for around three months."
"Three months?!" Your eyes widened. That would explain why it looked so bad.
Hop nodded before turning back to the nearby kitchen. "We better get this little guy something to eat. I bet you're still hungry arentcha?" Another baa. "I thought so. I should have some leftover wooloo food from when Dubwool was still one."
He then walked into the kitchen followed by you and Victor. You both watch as Hop dug through the cabinets for a small bag of pokemon food and a bowl to feed it. Mrs. L had already returned from cleaning out the shed to watch her son feed this new wooloo and cook dinner, but paused seeing her son.
"Hop, honey. You're a mess." The spoon in her hand was pointed at him. "I hope you're not planning on coming to dinner like that."
Hop groaned. "Jeez Ma. Cut me some slack. I'm just feeding the lil guy here." He gestured to the small wooloo.
"Well be sure you wash up before dinner. Have you figured out who the poor thing belongs to?"
"Someone in Turrffield. Which...is pretty fair away-"
"Hop, you're not keeping it. If it belongs to someone else then it has to be returned."
He groaned again. "I know, I know. It just stings a bit y'know? My first time seeing a shiny wooloo and it's not even up for grabs."
"I'm sure whoever it belongs to will be really greatful to you once I take it back Hop."
In the middle of pouring the food into the bowl, Hop blinked surprised at you. "Wha-... You're returning it? By yourself?"
"Well...Yes. You and Victor still have a lot of schooling to catch up on since you took an entire year out of school to do the gym challenge and you can't expect your mom or anyone else to do it." You'd as already made up your mind about this choice during the three hours it took Hop to finish up cleaning the wooloo. As much as you DIDN'T want to travel anymore, there was a trainer somewhere out there missing his wooloo, and it wouldn't be right to not return it. You shrugged as the bowl began to overflow. "I don't have anything holding me down like that, so I can go return it before coming back here. I know the way there anyways since I traveled there last year. That is if your mom doesn't mind me running out and coming right back here."
Mrs. L smiled. "That's very considerate of you Y/n. Of course I don't mind. Just let me know when you'd be leaving. ...Hm. You kids also might want to have Nurse Joy look over the poor thing just in case. Hop."
"Yeah?"
"You're overflowing the food bowl, honey."
Hop blinked and looked down, blinking as he noticed that the bowl was over filled with food leaking out onto the floor. Not that the wooloo minded as it just buried it's face into the food and quickly began eating all of it. "...I think we already have a clean up crew for that."
You had waited two days before you decided to travel. Wanting to make sure the wooloo was alright and well fed before putting it through any travel. It seemed to eat a lot at first but mellowed out to a more normal amount of food as time went on, until you finally took it to Nurse Joy at the resident pokemon center. To your relief the wooloo was completely fine other than it being about a pound and a half underweight. But no worries. She assured you a steady diet would have it back to it's normal weight in no time! That was a relief. Another day or two and you figured it was put off long enough, and it would be best to make your way to Turrffield. So early one morning, you packed all your belongings and with Silver and the wooloo walked to the train station early in the morning to catch the morning train to Motostoke. Mrs. L was kind enough to escort you to the station where she gifted you a bag of none perishable food for your trip over.
"Do you remember the way there?"
You nodded. "Turffield is to the west of Motostoke along Route Three. I've been there before so I know where I'll be going. Don't worry."
"Are you sure you don't want to take a flying taxi there?"
"Nnnooo. No thank you. I've flown enough in my life. I'll gladly take the train and my own two feet."
"*Zzzzt* Attention passengers. The morning train from Wedgeherst Station will be leaving in five minutes. Please enter or exit the train within that time."
You blinked behind you at the train, before quickly bidding a quick goodbye to Mrs. L and rushing to hurry the two shiny Pokemon onto the train quickly paying the til your ticket from the station master and getting onto the train. The familiar seats greeting you as you took a seat just as the train took off again. With a sigh you just watched through the window as the world went by. Here you go again.
-A FEW DAYS LATER-
"*Zzzzt* Ladies and Gentlemen. The afternoon train is arriving now at Motostoke Station. Please be sure to have all your bags before departing. The afternoon train from Motostoke will leave in twenty minutes. That is all."
Ah. Motostoke. This is where Kabu lived and trained and where Gloria would be soon training afterwards as well although you probably wouldn't see her here. Both pokemon followed you as you got off the train and breathed a sigh of relief that you wouldn't have to ride the train again for a little while. The very first thing you did was buy yourself a good meal at the cafe in Motostoke before moving onto one of the dirt roads leading out into the country side. Route Three. You remembered this. It would take two to four days traveling on foot to reach Turrffield from here but it would be better than flying. So with a sigh, you began walking. You needed to put all the distance you could before it got too dark to travel.
....On an off thought, you wondered if Milo would be there. After all Motostoke was the very first place you saw him in person during the Entrance Ceremony and he was the first gym leader you met in Galar. You still remembered what Gloria said about him too-
"So you're challenging this Mr. Milo right? Any idea what he's like?," you asked her.
She waved a hand. "Eeehh. Sorta? I don't know that much about him like I do Leon who's my friend and Raihan who basically posts all of his life online. But I heard he's the nicest out of all of the Gym Leaders and he runs his own farm alongside the gym. In fact I believe most of wool you can buy from Truffield's is from his farm. But I'm not sure. I've only heard a few things, and yesterday was the first time I really met any of them face to face."
You blinked. "You didn't get to talk with any of them?"
She shook her head. "Nuh uh. Only Mr. Rose and Lee of course but only a little bit. They're both pretty busy right now with the Gym Challenge just starting out and all."
"Well that makes sense I guess. This sounds like a big job for only a couple people. What exactly does a Champion do outside of being challenged and joining the pokemon league?"
"You don't have your own Pokemon League in Kanto?"
You mentally slapped yourself and stuttered. "Uh....W-Well...I was just curious about this region's League is all."
"Oh I see. I keep forgetting you're not from around here. Basically he helps make all kind of descisions concerning The League's rules and regulations and making sure things are kept fair until the next Gym Challege. On top of that he's also responsible for making sure the ten Gym Leaders take their responsibilities of keeping the Gyms in Shape."
"Really? That's all?" You looked at her. It sounded so easy.
She huffed. "That's just what comes out of mouth. It's more harder to do as Lee said. There's health and safety regulations, even more for our gyms because unlike others 'round the world they're bigger and built more sturdier to accomodate dynamaxing while keeping everyone safe. It's not easy to keep the fields in shape after every battle and keeping it cleaned up to health codes. Did ya forget how big Motostoke Stadium alone was?"
....Oh.....Well when she put it like that you guessed it WAS a HUGE responsibility to be in charge of that. Not to mention Leon being in charge of all of them technically as well-
"And then there's the employees-"
"Employees?"
She gave you a look like you grew a beard all of a sudden. "Did you really think that one person cleans and regulates a GIANT stadium and the field by themselves? The gyms in Kanto must be really different than ours. Of COURSE EMPLOYEES!! One person can't just take care of a stadium that big by themselves! They also got people they pay to clean up everythin' n' help 'em!"
"......Oh-" Of course they'd have to hire people. You kept forgetting this was a real world outside the game, at least for now.
"So not only are they bosses on top o' that, but they also have to keep up with training, public appearances, and they're also in charge of training the next gym leader who'll take over for 'em. Not to mention some o' them have jobs outside of being Gym Leaders too. Like Milo. There's a reason he's called 'The Fighting Farmer'."
He sounded like a nice man when she spoke about him and he really was the few times you spoke to him. But you wouldn't bother him if you didn't have to, he probably would've been really busy anyways.  The first day of traveling was mostly uneventful. It was just you walking down the road and occasionally passing by another traveler heading the opposite direction or camping out, or a country folks' farm but otherwise there wasn't anyone around besides the two pokemon and you. You stopped every so often and rested under the shade of a random tree before getting up to travel again. Once or twice stopping and digging into your bags to pull out some of the camping foods Mrs. L had given you and eating what was essential granola bars and dried foods before starting to walk again.  The next day went by rather slower than usual. You repacked up the tent and started walking again. By Now Motostoke wasn't visible if you looked back, and by luck you found a couple berry trees you furiously shook until it dropped a couple of them, although your drizzlie seemed more than happy to do a little tree climbing to get his full before continuing on. You were rather content with seeing the large stretches of country side and forests tho. You barely got to do anything like this back home. You were lucky if you had a weekend go by without working or your mother pushing you to study and get better grades. The nature around you was filled with wild ani-...uh pokemon that scattered usually when they first saw you. The nature and fresh air was a very good change of scenery as you inhaled in a breath- And then coughed at the smell of smoke. .....SMOKE!? You coughed and shook your head as you looked up towards the sky and were surprised to see the distant remains of smoke in the sky. What the?! Was there a fire somewhere!? Then you came across it. Next to some rocks off the path and a roped off pathway leading away from the larger pathway towards something. You learnt what when you got close enough to look past the rocks off the dirt road, you noticed the smoke and the smokey smell was coming from what looked like a coal factory or oil rig a far distance from the trail. This is where you met Sonia once. That plant turned mined up ore into energy for Galar, guess it was still operating. But this was good! That meant you were half way there already. Almost there to Turrffield.
For the third day in a row the you walked down the road eating what was in your packs for food until you stumbled across more giant rocks and another path going up to what looked like a man made tunnel and right outside the tunnel was some heavy duty equipment like what you'd see at a construction sight. This must be the dig sight you and Gloria passed along Route 3. As you two approached  you noticed a wooden sign along the road. It read: Galar Mine Lie Ahead. Along with a 'no trespassing' sign. Not that you would do so anyways. Last time Gloria had the great idea of trespassing through there and getting you both chased by angry workers. It was also in there that she had her first battle with Bede. While Gloria WAS right that it was a short cut and it DID save you both a whole day of traveling last time you went along this path, you decided to just take the long way around. It would be longer but you'd rather not have the trouble.  So around you went traveling all day until the dark forced you to set up camp. It wasn't until tomorrow afternoon that you finally came across it. LOTS of rolling hills and brick fences with yellow plants that took you a moment to realize what was most likely wheat or corn. A couple houses could be seen which you assumed were farm houses, and as you and trudged up the hill to where in went down into a valley, you could clearly see it. A GYM STADIUM!! It's shiny metal exterier shone bright in the sun light and surrounding it was a very small but manageable village. Not too much bigger than Postwick it looked like. As you walked looking around the area, you pasted a sign that read: Route 4 upon it. This must've been where Route three ended and Route 4 began. And you knew you were here. This was Turrffield. So peaceful so quiet and very very nice. you finished going down the hill's path and looked up at the stadium. It was similar in size to the gigantic one in Motostoke. You stopped where the path branched off into three parts towards the giant stadium, Pokemon Center, and a path that started off with a fence made from rope and wooden posts like the one by that factory you passed by two days ago. That's where the geoglyh and stone carvings were. Turrffield's tourist attractions you supposed. But now that you were finally here, you could finally get down to business. Now the only problem was to figure out where to go next from here.
"I don't suppose you know where that address is?," You asked the small wooloo that baaed back at you in response. "Yeah. I didn't think so either." You sighed. "This might be a problem." Looking around, you had no idea where to start or which house you should ask first. For all you knew, this address could belong to any house here. It was then that you noticed a man walking near you in stereotypical farmer attire carrying a giant basket of potatoes somewhere. You should ask a local. Surely he knew where this address was right? "Hey! Excuse me, Sir!" The man stopped and looked at you as you jogged up to him, pokemon in tow. "Hey there! I'm sorry for bothering you, but I'm lost."
The man blinked as you stopped in front of him. "Lost?"
"Uh huh." The wooloo belated out in protest as you quickly scooped them up into your arms and fumbled for the collar. "I'm trying to find the address on this wooloo's collar. Could you please tell me where that is?"
You were finally able to dig the tag from the wooloo's thick wool and pulled it out for him to see. The man blinked at you again, but he did look at the tag....and then smiled. "Oh sure. I know exactly where that is."
"You do?!"
He nodded back towards the stadium. "Wooloo Lane is just down behind the stadium. But the specific address you're looking for is the second farm on that pathway. You can't miss it. It's the biggest farm in Turrffield and chalk full of wooloo."
You smiled. The biggest farm just behind the stadium and down the path. That was way closer than you thought. "That's great! Thanks!"
The man just nodded to you and you quickly turned to drop the wooloo back on its feet before continuing on. You were quick to make your way around the giant stadium and sure enough there was a dirt road. As quick as a scorbunny, you bounded down the road pokemon in tow and quickly came across a small farm and a typical looking house with a 'For Sale' sign stuck in the front lawn. First farm. You wanted the second one, and you found it alright. A GIANT farm house on the very end of the path, with GIANT fenced in fields, and some GIANT barns some ways from the house...Huh. Why did this place look familiar to you? You stopped right in front of the house looking up at it. Well this was the place. Should you just knock on the door? Just then Silver tugged on your leg gaining your attention. You looked at him, he chirped and pointed a pink hand towards a field, and you looked. In the fenced in field was tons of wooloo, baaing and eating grass in a herd,  but there was also two other figures that weren't wooloo mixed with them. Humans. Two of them and one shorter than the other. The owners of the house maybe? Slowly you made your way over to the fence, paused, and then spoke.
"Excuse me! You in the field!," You shouted and both figures stopped hauling what looked like hay bails, "I think I found your missing wooloo!"
Both looked over and you paused. The smaller figure was a boy Hop's age with Pink hair and green eyes that blinked at you curiously, but it was the much taller figure that made you pause. Emerald green eyes blinked at you under a hat full of pink hair and freckled face. It was instantly recognizable to you.
"Milo?"

the fun section of the writer's ask game
21. Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write?
MY OCS ATM. AND THE VERSIONS OF EVERYONE FOR MY STAR TREK AU. I put a lot of effort into them and making them feel real and understandable within their story!
Harland is super fun to write cause it's a chance to explore a world and characters I love while being respectful of the canon of the game, but seeing what aspects I can go further into with Harland. And all the snippets of Abe and Orc I've started writing is just AUGHHH THEY'RE COMING ALIVE!!!!
22. Who is/are your favourite pairing(s) to write?
Magland... Abe and Orc...... There's some I want to write, like Leon x Ada or Hylink (again.... Sigh....) that I think I'll have fun with. I just like writing pairings that have interesting dynamics or bounce off each other in silly ways
23. Favourite author
Ahhh man. It's hard to say cause I feel like I haven't read anything consistently enough lately to say for sure. I can say when I was younger I really loved CS Lewis and as a teen I really enjoyed what little I'd read by Niel Shusterman, and maybe throw in Adachitoka for good measure
24. Favourite genre to write and read
SCI-FI / THRILLER ALL THE WAYYYYY BABBBEEEYYY
I like other stuff like fantasy and drama and whatever too ofc but like. NOTHING QUITE SCRATCHES THE ITCH LIKE THESE TWO, ESP IF THEY'RE A PAIR.
Sci-fi is soooo broad and fun, it's interesting when it's low concept or high concept and I like that it's so easy to inject philosophical dilemmas into the bones of the story and leave you thinking, and I like how interesting it is when you can draw parallels to current life (it's especially interesting seeing retro future sorta stories, both the fun aesthetics of 90s shit but also just seeing what people thought the scientific advances could be the further back you go, and seeing things that used to be sci-fi become just sci)
AND THRILLERRRRS.... I find them more interesting and scary than horror, though I've often been mistaken for a horror head even tho I feel like I don't watch horror that much... (Unless it's overlapped with thriller I guess lol) Idk I just find that the kind of stories you can tell when you drag out the tension and let the scares settle in to the atmosphere instead of demanding attention front and centre affect me more. I like when there's some kind of conspiracy or danger to work around and it gets more horrific with worse implications the further you claw into it. I want the fear to linger in my mind instead of only speaking to my body (think like how a jump scare isn't really scary other than startling you, vs something that actually unnerves you and gets worse the more you think about it)
I guess all that to say. I like thinking about things and want the story to haunt me with everything it's got. I want to still be thinking about it years later cause there was something in there that lingered....
25. Favourite part of writing
Already answered here
26. Favourite writing program
Libre, I guess? There's certain things I miss from Microsoft word/google docs but fuck them LMAO 🖕🖕🖕 I just wanna be able to write easily and have basic formatting options, ya feel. Libre does the job so I use libre
27. Favourite line/scene
Of my own writing?? I feel like I haven't written them all yet..
Here's a Wip of a scene I really love from much later in harlands story that I really love:
"Well aren't you just a bundle of contradiction." Flea mused.
"Pardon?" Harland asked.
Flea sauntered up to Harland, circling around him as he spoke.
"A friend to both sides of the war." He swatted Harlands hair from his shoulder, watching it fall as he avoided eye contact. "A pacifist whose work has made weapons."
Harland opened his mouth to defend himself, but flea dragged his finger across his chest. Harland couldn't help but get distracted as the general's nail tugged at his collar.
"I don't make weapons." He said, unable to hide the slight waver in his voice.
Flea pouted at him condescendingly. "You may not make them, but would they exist without you?"
Harland clenched his jaw.
"Even when you fight-"
"I don't fight." Harland interrupted.
"EVEN WHEN YOU FIGHT," Flea continued, "you are offensively defensive."
Flea smiled, enjoying Harland struggling to keep himself composed. He stood in front of him, tracing his jawline. "What a contradictory mess of a man…”
28. Favourite side character
Ummmm. Every single one. Idk. Too hard to pick from media but I can tell you that I really like the kitty cat baker lady, shy cow girl and orc's sister from Abe and Orc. And obviously, my most favourite side character from their story is the Penis Wizard
29. Favourite villain
MAGUS BABBBEEEYYY!!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS AND FOREVER!!!!!!!! IHYRYGJPOGJOJGLVJB I NEED TO WRITE STUFF ABOUT HOW INTERESTING HE IS SOMEDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
30. Favourite idea you haven’t started on yet
Oh man there's so much. I will say it's my screenplay, Misled Millionaire, that was an integral part to making me wanna study film. I've planned so much without it feeling ready and I knew I needed to learn more to do the idea justice, and I still have hand written notes from 2019 that I kept, and even found the original quick note I wrote in my phone all the way back when I just had it as a silly little idea:
Reclusive millionaire searching for new life purpose, unlikely friendship with a fake psychic.
The story has changed quite a bit, but the gist of it is that a younger entrepreneur type is feeling lost and lacking despite ticking off so many boxes that should mean he's successful and happy. While he tries to find himself, he grows dependant on his new friendship with a little old lady who gives him fortunes, until one day he can't find her when he really needs her. When I've made progress on other stories, I'll write the screenplay and hopefully direct it myself! So no stealing my ideas!!
Send me some writing asks

I made the TV vs film comment. It had nothing to do with CB and everything to do with the entertainment business landscape. The best example of the changing tide is Meryl Streep, arguably the biggest and most successful awarded actress of the last 50 years. Before streaming, and now pre- pandemic, it was mostly unheard of for stars to jump from film to TV. Now we are seeing many film stars opt for the small screen—look at the cast of Big Little Lies (Streep, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon….) He seems driven by the business of acting vs the art of it—to bring CB into it, I’d say this is where they differ. While others in the cast got great acting opps, he pursued other ventures. Think of how many actresses have pursued makeup, perfume, and clothing lines. At the end of the day, it’s all how to commoditise the brand of self. I think he’s doing just fine, and same goes for CB.
Thanks for coming back and clarify. I think my comment about comparing them had not only to do with your comment, but with others as well. Sorry if it sounded like I was aiming at your message solely. As you did write " The comments about TV is better more lucrative than films seem to be a hit at Caitriona, Belfast." but also resumed with "Don't understand the competition comments." on which I do agree. I don't understand them either.
I think the line between being a star on the big screen and 'small screen' - although home screens aren't that small anymore - has gotten much more thin. You give some fine examples there.
I'd also like to add that the amount of movies earning the big screen is getting less! Surely depending on taste and liking of each individual. But todays movies seem to be more depending on the technical levels, the sensational scenes that are created more on the computer than by the level of acting skills of an actor or actress (good or bad!)
The last movie really worth the big screen was the last James Bond. But I gotta add here, lots of action and stunts and technical aspects. Add to that the movie where we all finally were able to watch in the theater again after the pandemic, which was a treat for most of us.
A good example for what I mean is perhaps the movie 'Once upon a time in Hollywood'. With a cast with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, and a director Quentin Tarantino, who wouldn't have the expectation it being a great movie? Well it wasn't, it sucked. Yes I dare to say so.
Even more when you compare that movie with the ones the title seems to aim at, 'Once upon a time in America' which was good, and totally worth the watch on the big screen. But not even as good as the original one 'Once upon a time in the West'.
Who doesn't remember the endless shots, close ups of faces, the eyes that sucked you into the emotions of the story and the characters. Hardly any lines are spoken, just the emotions supported by the music of Ennio Morricone. Sergio Leone was known by his collaboration with the composer and editing his films on the music he wrote. Music swelling on, gazing eyes, a sudden silence dragged on for seconds adding to the suspense. Building up to an apotheosis that you felt from the top of your head to your toes when seeing it on the big screen. Who doesn't remember the screeching harmonica in the final that went through your soul.
youtube
Guess I've gone a little nostalgic here. Most moviemakers wouldn't dare to do it this way today, it would be called slow and boring. But to me, this is the real art of the movies. Making it all come together and getting the audience emotionally sucked into a story. I don't need intimate scenes, no high-tech features nor action stunts that are not of this world. I guess together with changing tide in the industry, the expectations of what the industry thinks the audience wants has changed as well.

A Champion Time For The Heart Ch6 The Entrance Ceremony
Tumblr media
You had a ...peaceful time helping Mrs. G in the kitchen cooking up some lunch for the guys...but by the time they all came back it might as well have been their dinner instead. Victor looked tired but still smiled, probably still happy to be able to get home and see all his family and friends, and in his possession was a small little pokeball and a new band around his wrist. That must've been the extra starter pokemon from Sonia! When his mother asked him about it, he answered that Victor had in fact received a small eevee to help him on his journey to over come the gym challenge. Well that was a nice thing for Sonia to do. It was also nice to just to listen to him talk about the small adventure he had taking pictures for the online blog he had. And made Gloria squeal with delight upon surprising her with a handful of polaroid pictures for her pokedex book. Next thing you knew it was already night and you were fast asleep....Only to be woken up VERY early in the morning by Silver grabbing at your face demanding food. ..Whelp. You couldn't go back to sleep now even if you wanted too so with a groan you got up and dressed, and went to go fix Silver something to eat. Only to be stopped again when there was a knock at the door. Confused you went to go answer it, but was surprised when you saw none other than Leon there.
"Leon?" You blinked. "What are you doing here?"
"Hey, Y/n!" He greeted giving a smile. "I decided to swing by before I head back."
"Back? You mean you're leaving now?"
To confirm your question he nodded again. " Yeah! But I didn't catch the morning train, got lost in the dark hours of the sun rise and somehow ended up circling my way back in front of my own house." He gave a sheepish chuckle and one hand came up to rub his head. "Not sure if I should consider myself lucky or not, but now I have to wait for the afternoon train at Twelve."
You rolled your eyes but smiled. Yep! That was definitely something Leon would totally do, game canon or not. You shook your head before looking back to him, not minding the Sobble who jumped onto your overalls and started climbing up you like a cat would. "Are you looking for Gloria? Her Mom said she left I think."
"Actually I was looking for you!"
That certainly caught you off guard as you blinked and your Sobble finally managed to flop itself over your shoulder as you blinked and pointed to yourself, "Me? Why?"
He looked over for a moment still rubbing his head nervously before closing his eyes and sighing. "Y/n...Never in a million years did I think Hop or Gloria would think taking off into Slumbering Wield would be a great idea, and honestly..That place is so unexplored and full of dangers I wouldn't be even caught lost in there." He looked back up to you. "Those two could've gotten seriously lost or...well I don't want to think about what could've been worse. I don't know how you figured out how they were in there, but that was some quick thinking on your part. As Champion I should thank you for your efforts, but as a big brother I could never thank you enough. But I'd like to try." He smiled real widely at you with that goofy grin you always saw.
You stood there for a moment brain processing what he said, before asking, "Huh?"
He chuckled at your reaction to him. "You lost all your stuff being chased by those wild corviknight right?" He gestured towards the door. "There's a local market and clothes store just across from the Pokemon Center in town. If you're going to be traveling all over the place with Gloria then you're going to need your own separate stash of clothes and food to sustain yourself. I can help in that department."
You stared......Was...W-Was Leon offering to BUY you new clothes?? Your brain finally clicked back to normal and you instantly shook your head holding up your hands. "N-No! I couldn't ask you to do that!"
"And have you travel around Galar with no supplies at all?"
That made you pause. You didn't really have any supplies did you?.....Literally nothing but the clothes on your back, a back pack, and one pokeball for the sobble on your shoulder. And now that he mentioned traveling with barely anything-.....You were REALLY under prepared and hadn't even thought of that! No food, barely any clothes, and overall no money at all to buy things with. So in much easier terms, you were absolutely hopelessly broke. BUT Leon was offering to pay for anything you needed- NO! You shook your head. You only helped out because you knew someone would be in danger and you knew the things had to progress in game if you wanted to get home. It'd be wrong to accept money just because you helped him out....But then again you still had nothing, and it'd be better not just for you but for Gloria too if you guys needed supplies for two people traveling around a giant region for who knows how long. Plus Leon is THE Galar Region Champion! He's the most popular person in all of Galar with millions of fans. Logically he'd probably have cash to spare for the supplies and not put a dent in any of his paychecks and you DID need the supplies. So technically he'd be helping out Gloria as well as endorsing her too if she insisted on having you come along.
"I mean-.." You started raising a brow. "Are you sure? I really don't mind and you don't have too!"
"If I didn't I wouldn't have offered, Y/n!" He gave a smile and again gestured towards the door. "Plus..I could use someone to help make sure I didn't get lost on the way there again. I wouldn't want to loop in front of my house again."
Well....Considering all the factors and that he was totally willing- "I mean....Sure! Ok!" You nodded and smiled. "I'm gonna need some supplies if I'm going to be traveling I guess. And since you're offering I guess I can't say no. Oof!"
That earned you a friendly pat to the shoulder from Leon as he smiled. "That's the spirit! Mrs. G won't mind if we leave now. She's already busy anyways."
You nodded in understanding and when he gestured for the two of you to leave again, you walked your way over to the door, Leon being the polite gentleman he was opening the door for you as you stepped out back into the world and the two of you were off. Walking down the road and passing all the normal things you all had done previously on your way towards the Center, which was pretty easy to spot as it was bright pink. And again people awed and waved at Leon as he smiled and waved back. At one point stopping and agreeing to take a picture with a young boy who couldn't have been much older than five or six as his presumed mother took his picture, before thanking Leon and allowing the two of you to continue on they're way. The smells of flowers and vegetation was in the air. You didn't see Hop or the twins on your way there though despite being out catching more pokemon. You just hoped they didn't decide on going back into Slumbering Wield again. Once you two got to about the center, Leon turned to you and gestured for you to follow him to the left past as a couple of elderly ladies walked past the both of you, both giving Leon a 'WOW!' kinda look. The building he led you too was a brick building with a green and white striped awning over the doorway and a sign above it reading 'Postwick General Store'. In front of the store was a couple crates of you assumed crops the local farmers produced.
"There it is!," Leon explained to you walking towards it as you two got close to it. "Should have everything one needs if they're going on a journey. It's where I got my supplies for my journey long ago, so it should have everything you all need." He assured as you two finally got near it. Once again reaching out and opening the door for you, a small bell going off above you, to which you thanked him and walked in. The inside was cool, and it ...looked exactly like a regular convenience store with a bunch of shelves with things labeled with prices and a few freezers stuffed with more foods. "See? What'd I tell ya?!"
Before you could say anything a different voice caught your attention. "Well, Well. As I live in breath." Both of you looked over to a counter and a middle aged man with dark brown hair and mustache smiled from behind the register. "If it isn't little Leon the champion, eh? Last time I saw you, you weren't much bigger than a beanpole. Now what pleasure does this old soul have to have you walking in here?"
The purple haired man happily waved to him. "Hey, Mr. Frederick! Long time no see!" He happily patted your shoulder. "My friend here needs some supplies, and being the best store in Galar, I thought you would have just the things we needed!"
The old man laughed and nodded smiling. "Well you ain't wrong! Look 'round and see if there's anything to your liking."
That was enough signal for Leon to grab onto one of those convenience store baskets and nod towards the food on the shelves. "C'mon. We'll want to find non perishable foods that'll last longer for long trips! So they should be in-..." He gave the aisles a look..and rose a brow. "Uh.."
"In the last aisle to the left," the older man corrected him.
Leon pointed to the left. "What he said! I remember now!" You chuckled at him, but he seemed to ignore them as he walked over and you followed. Taking a look at the aisles they seemed to stacked with the regular food you'd find in stores like back where you came from, and the aisle you guys went too could have what could only describe as camping foods. All packed away in plastic wrap and such so well they looked like a hiker's paradise. Especially when Leon hummed at what was available. "I guess a couple trainers already been here. Usually there's a whole lot of this available. But y'know what, that's perfectly fine." You watched curious as he just started grabbing a ...lot more than what you were expecting as he started just grabbing handfulls of packages from the shelves before you. "You can never go wrong with lots of rice and sausages."
"Uh..." You raised a hand.
''There's also plenty of pasta and salad mixes too," he mumbled to himself grabbing more handfuls of plastic wrapped packages of instant foods, "I think you'll like the moomoo cheese here. I used to use these a lot as cheese usually lasted a long time, like these bean tins here. Although steer clear of the pungent root. It's edible but has a strange smell too it. Coconut milk is also good to have on hand, canned moomoo milk is always good-"
"Leon," you interrupted his rambling as he hummed and looked to you. And you pointed to the now almost overflowing basket, "Isn't that uh....a little much for just me?"
He looked confused for a moment, before looking to the basket and seeming to get it. "OH! Nonono. I was grabbing some for the guys as well. ....I...probably should've mentioned that before we got here I guess, but it slipped my mind." He gave an embarrassed smile. "Sorry about that."
"It's alright." You assured him as he turned. "I think that's really nice of you to help us like this anyways."
"Well, a journey is never easy and if I can make it easier for them I will." Well you couldn't argue with that. By the time you two had walked out of there, Leon was holding two bags and you were holding two after helping to separate them between the four of you after paying the man with what must've been this world's version of a credit card, and you once again started following him after he turned to you once out of the store and said, "Follow me!" He nodded ahead of you and there was something you recognized. It was the clothing shop you'd encounter in the beginning of the game. It looked fancy compared to other buildings in town, with mannequins wearing clothes in the window, Sign above reading 'Cothes Mart'. "We can grab you two or three outfits in there and that should be that." He paused...before grunting and turning back over his shoulder. "Oh no."
you stopped and looked at him, before glancing at your sobble, then back to Leon again. "What?"
He stared at the pokemon center. "I forgot to stop by the center for something." He turned back to you. "And I have limited time...Here! How's this? Go inside there-" he nodded to the store. "And ask for Martha, she's the lady that owns the store. She knows my mom since she shops here all the time. Tell her that I sent you and to put it on my mom's tab, I'll digit my mum the money to pay for yours!"
You gave him a deadpanned look. "Leon, no offense, but wouldn't that just look like I'm trying to bum off you? If anyone could do that, then it probably would've happened a lot more with you in a lot of identity theft."
"Oh yeah! Tell her 'I got lost on a barn's roof!' That's the code I set up with her after one of my getting lost sprees. Hehe," he gave a nervous chuckle and you couldn't help but roll your eyes. How could anyone get lost and end up on top of a barn? Only Leon you supposed.
You nodded. "Alright. Won't you get lost? No offense."
"None taken. Ill wait for you outside the Center, just be sure to make it quick. I don't think I'd want to miss my second train of the day."
You nodded before the two of you parted ways, you going towards the building, semi heavy bag of foods in your hands towards the double glass doors. Once you reached the door open, a small bell went off and you stood in aw at the fancier looking store than the previous general store. There was....a LOT more included in here than you remembered in game. Much more clothes racks. Much more shoes on shelves. Much more bags. And MUCH more shelves of clothing.
"Good Afternoon, Young Lady." The lady's voice spooked you enough to make you jump, nearly knocking the chirping sobble off your shoulders as you turned to a middle aged dark brow haired lady who looked about the same age as Gloria's Mom as she smiled at you cheerfully. "Welcome to Clothes Mart. Feel free to ask for help if you need anything."
"Uh...." You blinked before clearing your throat. "Y-Yeah?....Martha?" You asked hesitating before pointing at her and she nodded.
"That's me! How can I provide you excellent service today?"
....You looked around a little bit before walking up to her, a few other ladies and young girls were looking at the clothing, this Martha raising a brow as you approached. Eyeing the others around you before clearing your throat and looking back to the slightly confused lady with uncertainty. "Uh...I got lost on a barn's roof?"
She still looked confused for a moment before her face instantly went from confused to overjoyed like a person had waved a full stack of a million dollars in front of her face. "OH! Of course. Would make sense since the Champion is in town." You sighed relieved as she stood from her place behind the counter with a smile. "Although I wasn't expecting Leon's cute country gal coming in.~ And just in time by the looks of it." She gave a criticizing eye over the overalls and green gum boots you wore.
It took a moment for you to register what she had said, and your Sobble gave this Martha lady a scowl as she looked you over. ...And you instantly held up your hands, red faced. "WHA- OH NO!! DEFINATELY NOT! I'M NOT-..HE'S...W-Were just..Friends." Well...You couldn't say exactly that you guys were friends since you've only know him a total of what...two or three days at most outside of a video game. But it was the only thing you could think of to call this.
She paused to look at you for a moment but shrugged. "Small mistake. Any friend of Leon's is a customer of mine." You lightly scowled at her as she smiled and sat back down. "Do let me know when you're finished, Ma'am. And don't be afraid to ask for assistance!"
"R-Right. Ok." You quickly shuffled away shaking your head from the encounter and looking at the Sobble. "Can you believe that?" The Sobble chirped and nodded in agreement with your statement and you couldnt agree more. "My thoughts exactly."
It didn't take long for you to pick out just a few shirts, two black with a pink pikachu and green eevee, and a blue one with an arcanine, and some plain black sweats to go with them. A pair of really good sneakers, a plain blue dress you thought was nice, and a jacket. Before you realized that it'd be impossible to carry it all with your small old backpack. Probably why Victor didn't want to take it in the first place you thought, but managed to find a rather large grey plaid rucksack, it was perfect with it's multiple pockets and size. You were quick to try and check them all out as this Martha lady wanted to chat but you didn't feel so talkative after the way she seemed to judge you with her eyes and quickly just left as fast as you could after she had apparently finished punching everything into someone's online tab she kept and wishing you a "Champion Time, with your 'Friend'!" and to "Stop by anytime!". Man you couldn't walk out faster and get outside holding the heavy bags of clothes and food you had gotten. Thank goodness because you surely just wanted to get back to Leon and help him back to the train station. Just your luck too as you walked past the Postwick's general store and towards the center, you managed to catch sight of Leon. He was leaning down and signing a small girl's book while her assumed mother watched.
"LEON!!," you called out and he looked up smiling at you waving a hand, one of the bags hanging from your wrist.
He waved a hand back, finished signing whatever the excited young girl was holding out to him before nodding to her and her mom before picking up his two large bags and walking towards you as you continued to walk towards him. "Hey!" He greeted once he was close enough smiling. Glancing at the new backpack on your back and the new bag in your hands. "I see you got some new kicks! Good! Sorry I took so long, but I got a lil caught up as you could see."
You smiled rolling your eyes, "I know. And it's fine....Are you sure about all this stuff tho? It's really no big deal-"
"Exactly!" He stated with a wink. "It's no big deal to me either, and I'm not bothered in the least." He gave that wide champion grin. "I make it a habit to use my position for as much good as possible, especially now with the power crisis." He turned to walk back down the road towards the train station and you followed.
"Power...crisis??" Oh yeah! Wasn't there a plot in the game involving that kind of thing? You tucked away that information just in case.
He nodded as you two walked. "Yeah. Been having it ever since I was about sixteen. The Chairman's been trying his best to help and look into the problem, I think?? But so far there hasn't been much progress unfortunately."
"Oh. I see..." You glanced down to the bags he held. They looked a wee bit fully than you last seen. "What did you get at the Center anyways?"
He seemed to perk back up at the mention. "OH!" He held up the bags. "Some more things that trainers would need for the long trip! Potions, antidotes, one or two revives and awakenings, and a few healers. Trust me. They're going to need them for their pokemon in case there's no pokemon center nearby to help them."
You nodded as the two of you continued to walk all the way to the train station, still no signs of the two children. You remembered someone saying that there was a lot of wild pokemon on Route 2 so maybe that's where they went?? The two of you walked the rest of the way to the train station and he was nice enough to hold the door to the station open for you to walk in, you thanking him. The inside wasn't anything special. A bunch of waiting seats, a man in a small stall like area who seemed to not pay attention to you, what must've been this world's version of an ATM next to a vending machine along side the far right wall, a clock above them, and a pay-to-enter entrance to a grey and yellow train. Well, at least Leon won't miss his evening train. Speaking of Leon he seemed ecstatic.
"Phew! Made it just in time! And not a minute too soon it looks like." He glanced at the clock on the far wall and frowned again. "Ten fifty eight! It's going to leave in two minutes!" He quickly turned back to you and you blinked as he held out the two bags. "Shoot! I'd sworn we had more time! I have to get on before I miss the second train in one day! Could you give these to the kids for me!?"
You took the bags from him as he nudged them towards you Sobble chirping in curiosity at them as you blinked again. "W-W-Wait! You're not saying good bye to them first?"
"Well I kinda don't have a lot of time," he said gesturing between the clock and train, "I can't be late for this one!''
"Oh right!" Your eyes widened at the clock. There was now one more minute before noon, when the train leaves. So you pushed Leon who blinked. "You should get going then! You only have one minute!"
"OH RIGHT!!" He quickly turned and made a run for the pay-to-enter entrance, once again taking out what must've been a pokemon world's credit card and either letting the machine scan it or pushing it into a small slot in the side, you couldn't tell past his cape that swished around with his movements. He managed to get past the bars and stopped at the other side to give you one last smile. "Thanks for helping! Maybe we'll get to see each other again-"
HONK!!
Both of you jumped at the loud train horn going off and you pointed. "LEON!!"
"I KNOW I KNOW!! BYE!!" Grabbing his hat he ran to the double doors that opened and closed behind him with a whoosh noise.
You sighed in relief and the train chose that exact moment to start pulling away with a metal groan. Followed by the click-clacking noises you knew only trains could make and you sighed. You did end up just sitting down in one of the waiting seats arms and feet sore from carrying all the things with yo-
"LEON!!" You and your Sobble jumped, the small pokemon tumbling into your lap as you turned your head and a familiar purple haired boy came running in and you whipped your head around to the blur of Hop rushing in. Sliding to a stop in front of the entrance to the train watching as it continued to go past. "AH MAN!" He deflated with a sigh. "...I'm too late."
"Hop?"
It was his turn to jump and snap to you as you sat there with a brow rose staring at him. And he relaxed. "Y/N! What are you doing here? WAIT! Did Lee come through here already!?"
Your Sobble chirped in annoyance righting itself up at Hop, and you nodded as the last car of the train flew by. "You just missed him actually...Hey. Where's Gloria and Victor?"
He groaned and reached a hand up to rub his head. "Ah man. I really wanted to say good bye...Oh. Glory's battling Victor down the road." He pointed his other hand out the door. "I was kinda hoping I'd get a chance to see him go, y'know..." He looked at you again and seemed surprised at the bags around you...and pointed. "Hey. What's all that you got there?"
You blinked for a moment before looking to the bags, and smiling. Holding out one to the younger boy. "Leon left you guys a fair well present."
You perhaps should've seen it coming when Hop's excitement was reignited when he heard Leon left him a present and you gladly handed over one of the bags to which he opened up in a hurry but looked utterly confused at all the healers and camping food until you explained the reasons why Leon got them all for him. Which he understood with a nod. And after a moment more of resting you decided to walk back with him towards the road, but the two of you ran into another familiar face in the form of the twins. Or more like she almost ran into the two of you as she ran into the train station pulling her brother behind her as you got up from your seat. Your sobble still sore over how many times he already fell from your shoulder and so resorted to gripping your shoulder sleeve harder.
"Geez Glory!," Hop commented raising a brow, "What's gotten you in such a hurry? I thought that was my thing."
"Sorry," she apologized leaning over to look around you and Hop at the station, "Did Leon leave yet? You said somethin' about stopping him so we could say good bye."
He again sighed and slouched a big bag in his hands. "Yeah he's gone back to whatever he was doing. I suppose I can't catch a train after all." ...He gave a small smile though. "But I guess I can't complain! He's the Champion! So of course he's gotta be like SUPER busy! We'll come face to face again soon enough!"
Gloria smiled back and nodded in agreement. "YEAH! Besides, maybe we'll see him at the Opening Ceremony tomorrow!"
You nodded at them. Although you knew he wouldn't be there as in game if the current events kept up, but you didn't want to break their hearts or anything so soon.
"Are you endorsed trainers?," a man's voice asked from behind the three of you turned around to the man in the small store like stand in the train station. His smile widened as he nodded to his side where a stack of books was settled. "Would any of you three be interested in joining in our charity dex events?"
"Charity dex?," you asked obviously confused.
And the man nodded again gesturing to the two different book stacks one smaller than the other. "Yes! For just five dollars you can purchase one of two dex books and enter the dex challenges to win a variety of prizes! All proceeds goes towards the power crisis fund raiser."
There was that mention again about the power crisis. You wondered how dire it was exactly. Gloria seemed to take interest in it though and walked right up to the stand staring at the books. "....What's exactly the challenges?"
"Well there's the Poke-Dex challenge and the Curry-Dex challenge?" He explained holding up one of the small books, it had a picture of a plate of some kind of food etched into it. "The challenge is too take a picture of every labeled curry, or pokemon, on the pages and when your albums are fully completed, you turn in into your local pokemon center to claim your prizes! And there's no time limit. It's all for charity and you get a neat scrap book out of it. We already sold a few to some people on their way on the train. Would you be interested in joining one of the dex challenges?"
"I dunno. Sounds like a scam to me, Glor," Hop commented glancing at the books. "I always thought photography was Victor's gig. And we're already got the gym challenges ahead of us tomorrow.......Glory?"
Dexes?? As in completing the entire pokemon dex for this game?? Was this how it was manifesting in this game? You guessed so. It WOULD be weird if Gloria just discovered her pokedex had a limit of numbers in order to 'complete' it like a game's challenge. but a curry dex?? You faintly remembered there being some kind of food challenge in game but you couldn't remember it too well.
"I can't believe you wasted twenty dollars on two scrape books and camera film." Hop gave a small frown at the rolls of film and books Gloria was carrying along with the bag of goodies provided by Leon from earlier. "You don't even have a polaroid camera for all of that."
"No, but Victor does! I'm sure he won't mind if I take his old one." She gave her brother a look and Victor rolled his eyes. "Besides! It'll be fun and easy! Just fill up a whole book with pictures of pokemon and curries! How hard can it be?"
Hop's face deadpanned. "That's not exactly what I meant."
The four of you had left the train station not longer after that and had taken a small detour to the grocery store you were previously in that morning so Gloria could buy herself a decent amount of film rolls. It was crazy how many rolls of film you could cheaply buy in this world for a mere ten dollars, although you were sure Hop disagreed. So you decided to change the subject by asking them a question.
"So," they both turned to you, "We're leaving for the Entrance Ceremony tomorrow morning right?"
"YEP! Bright and early! The morning train leaves at seven thirty sharp and we have to get our Dynamax bands from Professor Magnolia tomorrow! So we're gonna have to get up real extra early if we don't want to miss it. These train conductors are always on time, whether it's a good or bad thing. But those bands will be worth it to be able to dynamax and complete our Badge Circles!"
"I see. ...What's a badge circle??" You don't remember hearing anything like that from the game even when you played it way back when. "I don't think I know how these gyms and badges work."
They both gave you a confused look and for a moment you thought you goofed up before luckily Gloria unknowingly saved face for you when a look of realization came over her. "OH RIGHT!! You're not from this region so you wouldn't possibly know how the gyms work!" You thanked whatever god was listening for this great save as Gloria happily explained. "You see there's ten gyms each with their own gym leader unique to their own type of pokemon, but in order to compete in the finals at the end of the year you only need eight badges to complete your Badge Circle. A Badge Circle is like a puzzle but instead of carboard puzzle pieces you use badges to make it, then you present it to the official board who helps host the Gym Challenge. They're also the ones who's going to be checking to make sure your endorsements are legit at the Entrance Ceremony," she explained as you listened. Never knew when this info might come in handy later. "That's where four of the gyms are optional. While usually they give you they're own unique piece for the Badge Circle..Both Rock Type and Ice Type Gyms offer the same shaped badge. So does the Fighting and Ghost Type Gyms. So usually you'd pick either one of the two choices, grab it, and then move on. Lots of people don't see the point of battling both gyms for the same piece as it's not required." She smirked before pointing a confident hand forward. "BUT NOT ME!! What's the point of me joining the Gym Challenge if I don't at least try out every gym at least once! We have a full year until the finals anyhow! That should be plenty of time for me to get what I need!!......Plus...m-maybe because I'm also kinda hoping to get some pictures and a few autographs. It's not everyday you get to see such famous people. Hehe."
You rolled your eyes with a smile. Just like a teen meeting a famous person but Hop sighed again. "I just don't see why you're going through all of this trouble. Won't it make more sense to just focus on one thing?"
"Hop you need to broaden your horizons a bit! It's gonna be our first times away from home! It's not just about the Gym Challenge!" She smiled widely at him. "It's about seeing new things! Meeting new people! Getting to see all kinds of new pokemon! It's...." Her smile dropped for a bit as she looked down. "It's actually a bit scary.....but I guess that's what's also making it so exciting." She smiled again. "Plus I know you're also doing the challenge so it's not like I'll be going into it alone right? Ill have my best bud and bro going through it with me!"
Victor looked off to the side and Hop stared at her for a moment before clearing his throat and nodded looking away. "Y-Yeah! You're right. "
"See? Told you! It'll be fun! And I'll have Y/n as a traveling buddy anyways! So it should be fine."
You nodded in agreement as the three of you continued to walk back towards their homes, and both children mentioning the new pokemon they had been able to catch while out on their little adventure today.
"So how many pokemon did you guys catch?," you asked curiously.
And Gloria proudly answered, "NINE! And Hop caught five!"...Before she hummed. "Although Vic seemed to have o' bit of trouble with it."
You did a double take at the two. "Wait. You guys caught fourteen pokemon between the two of you in the few hours I was gone!?"
"Yeah! Hop's really lucky! He's got a shiny butterfree!"
Hop gave a sheepish smile and in a similar fashion to Leon raised a hand to rub the back of his head. "Well I guess I was just lucky to catch it off guard enough to catch it in the farmer's meadows."
Oh yeah. Weren't shiny pokemon a pokemon born with a rare color variety compared to most of their other kind? Wow. Well it sounded like the two of them certainly had a fun time out and about. "Wow. It sure sounds like you guys had a fun time." The three of you were coming up to the roads that split into to directions to both of the children's homes.
Gloria nodded again. "Hey! Hop! Come over to my house so I can practice my camera."
Victor's brow rose again, "Don't you mean my extra camera?"
"Same difference! If I take pictures of all the pokemon we caught then it'll be good practice and give me a head start on the challenge! Plus who else would have a picture of a shiny butterfree?"
He sighed. "I swear you can bounce forward on anything like a ball."
You chuckled as the three of you made it to Gloria's house. Finding her mother in the kitchen cooking food and the first thing you noticed was the delicious smell coming from the kitchen stove, whatever she was cooking smelt of spices and your stomach growled. She looked up for a moment and smiled at the three of you, asking what the bags were for once she noticed, so you explained to her what had happened with you and Leon that morning as the two kids went off towards the door outside. She chuckled when you explained how Leon got lost on his way to the train in the early morning and got lost to only somehow end up back in front of his own home. Calling him 'a sweet young man for helping the kids out like that' and asking how your day went. Overall it was pretty well and you soon found yourself sitting down at the kitchen table resting yourself from all the walking around town you did. It was still fairly early in the day being only twelve something in the afternoon- You jumped when your Sobble all of a sudden chirped curiously and half climbed onto the side of your head to look towards the opposite side of the house as a flash of light came from one of the windows from outside. A minute long pause. And then another went off. A total of fourteen flashes with about a minute pause between them and while you tried to wrangle your sobble from your face without hurting it and it was enough to catch Mrs. G's attention as she stared with a brow rose.
"Gloria, what are you kids doing? I hope you're not practicing electric type moves near the house" her mother demanded. "You already almost caught your bed on fire from teaching your scorbunny Ember inside!"
"It's fine Mum!," Gloria's voice came followed by her head appearing in said window and waved what could only be described as a polaroid camera. "We're taking picture of our pokemon! Can you believe that I already have fourteen pokemon for the dex challenge!"
Her mother gave her a confused look placing a hand on her hip, "Dex challenge? What are you talking about?" She asked just as her Munchlax came toddling him yawning with another green pokemon behind him. He must've smelt the food and woken up you figured.
However Gloria's eyes lit up with a gasp! "Make that soon to be sixteen! You caught a Budew!?"
"Oh?" She glanced at the pokemon at her feet glancing up at her. "Oh yes. It was one of the two that always hangs around the flower beds. I always thought they were rather helpful for planting so I thought-" She paused as Gloria was already gon-
BANG!!
Both of you and the three pokemon jumped and turned to Gloria in the door's entrance camera in hand and scorbunny at her heels as she grinned at the Pokemon at her mother's heels before lifting the camera at them. "SAY CHEESE!!"
"Gloria! What are you-" She was cut off by two flashes that blinded you for a moment and you reached your hand up to cover your face as a white coated your vision. "GLORIA!!"
"Whoops. Sorry Mum!"
"WHAT. ARE. YOU. DOING!?"
"Taking pictures of pokemon. Duh."
"I can SEE that! Or I would if you hadn't blind sided me.....Wait. Isn't that Victor's camera? What on earth were you doing playing with it!? You know that's not yours!"
You groaned and rubbed your eyes as they contined to talk. You trying to rub away the white dots that came with the flash as your sobble sat there. And you suddenly felt a small hand pawing at your face, as if your sobble was mimicking the movements you made at the attempt of clearing your vision. It was cute....But it would've cuter if you could see it.
"But Mom," Gloria pleaded, "It's for a good cause I promise. There's this Dex challenge and if you fill up the entire book with pictures when you can win something! Plus it's fun! And he's totally cool with lettin' me borrow it!"
"Only cuz ah now you'd just take it anyways!," Victor called from outside.
"Well watch where you're pointing that thing! The last thing we need is you blinding someone."
"Yes, Mom." "Sorry Ms. G."
You finally opened your eyes still lightly rubbing them as you blinked and your vision was slightly blurry, but it quickly cleared revealing the two teens and their mother standing there as they looked at you. And Mrs. G held out a hand to you.
"Oh dear. Are you alright, Y/n?"
You nodded. "Yeah. I guess. It was just real bright for a moment." You paused as the camera was held out pointed at you by Gloria.
"Hey, Y/n. Can I take a picture of your sobble?"
A picture of your- "Oh. Yeah sure! Just lemme close my eyes for a minute." She nodded as she held the camera up to her face and you slammed your eyes shut as the words left her mouth.
"Hey Sobble!" The pokemon turned to her. "Say cheese!" Another flash of white lit up everywhere and your sobble chirped in surprise as his eyes went wide and it swayed as you reopened your eyes. Gloria smiled as the camera made a whirling noise and a moment later a perfect picture of you with your sobble staring towards the camera came out through a slot in the bottem as she grabbed it. Examining it with a smile. "Yep! That makes seventeen now!"
You gently took the sobble off your shoulder and into your arms as it swayed wide eyed, before shaking it's head and scowling towards the three teenagers, letting out a very loud squeak of annoyance at her before leaning back into your arms like a cat would still glaring at the two of them. You kinda felt bad so you ended up scratching it's back making it give a pleased sound and smile after a moment. What a cute newt thing!
"Hey Glory. Shouldn't we be dropping off some of your pokemon at the center for your rotomi boxes?," Hop asked
Gloria nodded before looking at him. "Hey. Doesn't your grandpa have a purrloin?"
"Yeah he sure does."
"Think he'll let me take a picture of it?"
"I don't see why not! C'mon!"
"Wait! What about lunch?!," Gloria's mother called after them already running out the door. She stood there for a few moments, before sighing and shaking her head. "I swear! If those two were pokemon they'd be rapidashes for how fast they head off to things."
You chuckled at her. The rest of the day went by very quickly. You had ended up helping Mrs. G clean up after she had started cooking and she gave you some curry as a thanks. You never had this kind of dish before. It was some rice with some kind of red sauce with the same spice smell from earlier, but neither of you were complaining as you ate. It was actually pretty good. Nice to have a peaceful meal considering the past couple days with how chaotic they were. Although you did have to keep your sobble from trying to grab food from your plate and to appease it you fed it a few peices of pokemon food after Mrs. G offered. Gloria and Victor didn't return until later that evening where you assumed she had dropped off some of her pokemon with Hop. The camera secured around her neck by a strap and her hands was one of the journals you noticed she had purchased. So you asked about it and her face lit up and she showed the both of you the eighteen pictures she had taken along with a bunch more Victor had given, something about him not needing them anymore anyways. Some of them you had recognized. Gloria's scorbunny. You and your sobble. Mrs. G's two pokemon of course, and a couple of Hop's. Including a yamper like Sonia's. What you didn't recognize was a few new ones which she gladly told you the names of them. But the most surprising one was her phone but it looked as if it was posessed by a rotom. When asked Gloria explained that it was perfectly normal for someone to have a rotom phone with their very own rotom. She probably assumed you didn't have any of that back in 'Kanto'. Time flew by and other than Mrs. G scolding Gloria for snapping a picture of the curry she had saved her for dinner, it was pretty easy for you to follow your routine before once again falling asleep on the couch and dozing off for the night. Until the very next day of course. You were just laying there peacefully snoozing away peacefully until you felt a harsh shake on your shoulder and a light was shown on you. Of course you being asleep ignored it in favor of turning over on the couch and curling into the blanket even more. Again a harsher shake made you groan in protest at whoever was trying to kidnap you from slumberland.
"Y/N!!" A young girl's voice shouted fairly close and loud next to your ear. Startling you awake with a snort, sitting right up and blinking and rubbing your eyes at the harsh light that extended on you. "Time to wake up or we'll miss the train to Motostoke!"
"Uuuuuhhh," you groaned peeking your eyes open and blinking groggily up at the form of Gloria smiling at you. You yawned a bit. "Gloria? Wha-....*yaawwn* What time is it?"
"Six o four in the morning!," she stated happily before leaning back up and it took you a moment to figure out it was still dark in the early hours of the morning and the light was coming from the light bulb above you. "You need to hurry up and get ready before we're late! I still need to pick up my Dynamax band from the Professor too!"
"M' up," you mumbled reaching a hand out to slowly toss off the blanket from your form as Gloria backed away.
She turned as you both heard her mother's tired voice call to her, asking what was up. What you needed to wake you up was a nice hot shower so that's exactly what you did. Dragging yourself out of bed, you trudged into the bathroom and took a deserving hot shower, brushing your teeth, and opting to instead of the overalls lent to you by Mrs. G wore the black shirt with the Eevee print, slacks, and the non rubber shoes you also picked up. By the time you came out, with everything else in the gray plaid bulking back pack of yours, the smell of food was already in the air and it didn't take you too long to find out why when you look over and saw Gloria holding what could've only been described as a plain waffle in one hand obviously in the middle of eating it, and going through her big brown back pack with the other as her mother looked at her.
"Uh huh. And are you sure you got plenty of clothes?," Mrs. G asked raising a brow, "Extra pokeballs? Your region map? How about the revives Leon was nice enough to get you?"
"Yes Ma!," the teen mumbled half way through eating, "I already went through this last night!"
"Well it never hurts to double check! Especially since you can't lose that endorsement letter or else they won't let you register for the challenge at all," she looked up and noticed you before smiling, "Ah! Y/n! Good morning, Dear. I hope you slept well."
You nodded shifting the backpack over your shoulders, "Yeah thanks! ......Hey. Where's that sobble?" You rose a brow while looking on the floor. Strange the little guy wasn't around.
"He was hungry so I gave him some food to tide him over for you. And speaking of which you must be hungry. I'll get you some breakfast. You aren't starting off your trip on an empty stomach."
"But Mom! That's gonna take even longer! Vic's already waiting for me! We still need to grab the dynamax bands before we go and we'll miss the train if we wait-"
"How about you guys go get the..bands and I'll *yaaawwn* meet you at the train station?," you suggested. You weren't really in the mood for any arguing in the morning, and to be honest you were hungry and the idea of starting a long trip on an empty stomach just didn't appeal to you.
You were lightly surprised when Gloria agreed to it and after a few more moments of going through her pack, left with Hop you assumed, as her mother kindly handed you over some food. More waffles but you weren't complaining. Your sobble at some point noticed you were awake and soon enough you felt that familiar feeling of the little guy crawling up your clothes only to plop itself into your shoulders. It really liked being carried around didn't it? Your muddled mind didn't know when but sometime after you finished the pancakes you were out the door bag in your hands, one hand holding it and the other digging through it to make sure all the few belongings you did own for now were secured. Sure enough you found the non perishable food Leon had given you, the few clothes, and of course your Sobble's pokeball tucked somewhere in the bottom of it all. You decided to keep your sobble out for the time being as it seemed to enjoy being out. The early morning light was starting to peek through with the light pinks and yellows of the sunrise. Already as you made your way to the train station, you saw the farmers and their wooloos out in the fields. Early to bed early to rise you guessed. You saw no sign of the teens besides Victor who waved at you and gestured for you to come wait with him, guessed they were still getting the dynamax bands from the professor, even as you walked right into the train station. So you did the only thing your tired self could do. You once again plopped yourself into one of the seats tiredly and waited for the two to arrive. It couldn't have been that long(or maybe it was but you didn't notice) but you perked up at a familiar voice.
"So out with it, Glor! How many did you catch again?"
"I already told you eight! You saw me take pictures of them yesterday remember?"
"Oh right! Sorry that's just the sleep talkin'. " You turned to the door as the young voices got louder. "But look at how many you caught! You're well on your way to building a fine team! I caught myself a special one not to brag."
" I KNOOOWWW!! I'm so jealous you caught a shiny before me!" Gloria walked right into the train station with Hop right behind her.
He shrugged with a proud smile. "Well what can I say? I'll make a difficult rival."
"Where are we heading again?"
"The Gym Challenge will begin Motostoke and our train's waiting so let's go-" He paused finally looking away from her and seeing you two sitting there. Upon catching his eye you smiled and waved mumbling something like 'Good Morning'. And he smiled. "Hey! Y/n you're here!" You stood up to meet them with a light yawn as they approached. "I thought you'd be on the train already.''
You chose not to mention you haven't gotten any money to pay for the ticket entrance and waved. "Nah. I said I'd wait for you guys at the station and I wanted to keep my promise." Looking to Gloria you noticed something around her neck, so you pointed and asked. "Hey. Isn't that your brother's camera?"
"Aye." Victor rose a brow crossing his arms at his sister. "Don't go runnin' 'round crazy with that thing if you value ye life."  He jabbed a thumb to the awaiting train. "Anyways it's nearly seven thirty. We should probably get on before it takes off." He suggested and the lot of you agreed. Walking towards the small gate-
"Not so fast you three!," an older but familiar lady's voice cut through the air and the three of you all turned around as a result.
Hop's golden eyes widened. "Wha-? What're you doing here, Mum?" He asked turning around just as the two mothers of the children walked right in. You were confused at first two, before seeing what they were holding in their hands and you immediately understood why they had followed you here.
"I knew this day was coming since the moment you chose Grookey as a partner, Darling," the older woman smiled fondly at him, a smile you remember your own mother used to have way back when. She held up the small rolled up thing in her hands. "You took off so fast you two didn't take any sleeping bags. Did you forget you probably won't be able to afford hotels most of the time or won't be able to sleep in one every night? You can't expect a free bed around every corner."
Both looked immediately sheepish as Mrs. G spoke. "Professor Magnolia was kind enough call and let us know that you three would be setting out now." She held up a small looking back of her own. "So here. A little last gift to see you well set on your way. All the kit you'll need for camping! And the reason why you should always double check BEFORE you take off like your brother." Gloria made a face and looked away before her mother made her take the small kit, which consisted of a small compact tent you could carry over your shoulder and another sleeping bag, before crossing her arms with a frown. "Honestly! I swear you'd lose your head if it wasn't attached to your neck sometimes."
"HEY! I only forgot this one thing," she protested and her mother hummed.
" Ah yes. Like you forgot to tell me about how the two of you snuck off into the Slumbering Wield." In an instant she froze and you could've sworn a little color drained from Gloria's face in that moment. "And yes, I heard the news from young Leon. I'm glad someone bothered to tell me!" She sighed and her other hand was held out to you. "Here we are! A bit of pocket money for your journey. Buy yourself a little something at the pokemon center. Maybe some potions or something!"
You stopped and blinked at the small twenty bill in her hand before shaking your head. "Oh no! I couldn't possibly take your money! I-"
"Happened to save my child from a dumb idea. It's not much but something tells me you could use it anyways."
Well......It wouldn't hurt to have some money on you in case of emergencies even if it wasn't much. So you reluctantly took it from her. "I....Thank you."
She nodded to you before turning to Gloria and pointing a finger at her with a serious look. "Now. Remember that Scorbunny will battle to the very end for you so don't you go pushing the poor dear too hard! Come home to rest anytime that you need. After all east or west, home is best." She smiled. "No matter what happens out there, if you and your partner are together I know you'll be fine. Take my advice to heart Sweetie. As long as you have your pokemon at your side and the energy to carry onwards, you'll naturally find that you always have a smile on your face."
Gloria stood there for a moment before nodding to her mother and you blinked when she all of a sudden hugged the older woman, seemingly startling her too for a moment before she smiled and hugged the child back tightly like any mother would....Well except maybe yours. She was always seeming to be too busy working or making sure you worked hard to get good grades or worked hard enough to help out with the bills with your after school jobs. You didn't notice the frown come over your face as Hop mimicked his friend in giving his own mother a hug who like the other mother mirrored a smile and hugged back patting his head followed by Victor.
"Remember. No matter what happens out there, if you and your partner are together, I know you'll be fine."
Hop smiling pulled away and gave a big grin. "Thanks Mum! And just think of how lucky you are!" He raised a determined fist. "Mother to the first ever pair of Champion Brothers! Because I'm certain to be the Champion next! You'll see!"
She nodded in agreement but her face was amused. "Of course you will, Darling. Anyway, do have fun and take care of yourselves. And don't be too worried about not winning. You're welcome back home anytime."
Home huh- A loud train horn sounded off startling the five of you into turning to the train, then you happened to glance at the clock hanging upon the wall and noticed that it was seven twenty eight in the morning. Two minutes before seven thirty and the deadline for the train's departure. So you decided to point this out, having the two kids make a worried frown before taking a few steps back.
"We'll be off now!," Gloria explained lifting her hand a moment to give a quick good bye to the two mothers and turning to the train. "C'mon guys! We're off! Don't want to miss the train!"
You nodded in agreement tailing right after her with Hop behind you. "Wish us luck! Not that we'll need it!"
As the mothers waved good bye, the four of you went towards the gate and watched as Gloria slipped a single dollar into the slot of it. It made a ping noise and you guess it unlocked because the four of you easily slipped by and towards the train. The grey and yellow train's doors slid open with a whoosh sound as the three of you entered just as another horn sounded off startling your sobble a bit making it cling to your shoulder harder. Inside was who you assumed to be a train conductor who gestured for you all to exit through another door to the right which lead to the passenger cars and other people who happened to be on the train with you four. There was about fifthteen other people with you so the lot of you had to go to one of the back seats. Yellow painted metal bars were everywhere along with Blue seats with a table between the two of them. Above each pair of seats was a small area to put luggage. You sat down just as the train was starting off. Gloria breathing a sigh of relief from all the weight she was carrying. You assumed she was carrying more than you already along with the camping equipment she was given just a few moments ago. You ended up looking out the window and watching the station and small town of Postwick move away from your view and starting on your way. Beside you Gloria sighed and slumped into the soft cushioned seat.
"Man. We just left and I'm already feeling beat."
"Well look on the bright side," Hop suggested, "We're finally heading out on our journeys! And Lee told me Motostoke is a good place as any to start off an adventure."
"Oh really? How come?," you asked curiously as he explained.
"Well besides the obvious Opening Ceremony going on there. Motostoke is surrounded by a giant piece of land called the Wild Area. It's a real sight! There's all sorts of wild Pokemon just wondering about everywhere you look! Plus you can camp out, do a spot of fishing, and sight seeing! I don't think I could ever get tired of it!," he explained smiling widely, "But I don't think we'll be able to see it. The Entrance Ceremony's in the town not the wild. But on a lighter not! There's loads of brilliant trainers and all kinds of pokemon out there waiting for us! My excitement's running ahead of me faster than this train can go!"
"Yeah? Well it's too bad. Would've loved to take a couple more pictures." Gloria sighed leaning more against the wall of the train. " Im already starting to understand why Victor likes it so much. Like I wouldn't make it a living like he wants to but it's a nice hobby."
You nodded agreeing with her and extended your arm to allow your sobble to crawl along your arm and onto the table, watching as it curiously crawled up to the window and looked out at the world passing by. You all sat there for who knows how long chatting, the kids pulled out their phones and showed you a few pictures of what looked almost like a castle's high walls and beautiful scenery surrounding it. It was quite lovely. At one point someone said it would take at least a few hours to get to the town so all of you had plenty of time to relax but you couldn't help but let your mind wonder. What was happening back at your home? Was your mother worried about you suddenly going missing? What happened when she went to wake you up but found you completely gone? Did she call the police to file a missing person's report yet? Counting today it would've been five days that you had disappeared and that must've been worrying. And if this happened to just be a crazy dream you surely hoped you would wake up sometime soon. You were soon snapped out of any bad thoughts though. How? Simple the train suddenly slowed down out of no where it caught you off guard and you ended up hitting the table in front of you your poor Sobble chirping in shock as it was sent tumbling across said table and into Hop's extended arms as he thankfully caught the poor thing before it could splat onto the floor below. What the world was that!? Your head turned as Gloria nudged your side. you gave her a questioning look about to ask if she was alright but she pointed out the window and you looked. There was.....Nothing but nature?? Which wouldn't be strange since it was the out doors, and you WOULD have chalked it up to just being another stop on the way to Motostoke but then why did the train suddenly stop like that? Granted you never rode on a train before but you were pretty sure they weren't supposed to stop suddenly enough to ram yourself into a table. One of your hands rubbed your sore ribs where they had hit the table, surely leaving a bruise later but no real damaged luckily. So why had you all suddenly stopped in the middle of seemingly no where? Around you other people were also noticing, muttering to themselves, some getting up to peer out the windows or to take a couple steps up the alley way as to walk up to the engine car.
"Attention Passengers!," a man's voice blared from a loud speaker somewhere, "Due to some unfortunate events beyond our control we have decided to take a quick stop at Wild Station. We apologize for any inconvenience and to please wait patiently while we fix the issue. We thank you for your cooperation."
"Wha- Wild Station? That's just outside the town!," Hop exclaimed holding your sobble in one arm while staring at a map on his phone with the other. Confusion on his face. "Why didn't they just stop inside the city?"
"Let's find out!" Gathering her things into her arms Gloria was quick to jump past you.
"WHA- Hey wait!," you called out extending an arm out to her as she darted up the car past other people.
You stared after her for a few seconds before turning to Hop who shrugged and got up to after her which you followed obviously. The three of you hurried after her as Gloria trotted up to the exit and with a whoosh the doors opened with her stepping out and the two of you followed. On the other side was another train station. Only this one had slightly different colored brick walls and there was a whole bunch of leaves and twigs scattered about. Besides the four of you there was a couple looking over a map in one corner of the station looking confused and lost, a map just sitting in the waiting chairs, and someone who looked to be in some kind of uniformed green vest.
You gave a confused look around. "Where the heck are we?"
"Ill check!'' Before you could respond Hop had already turned to the man in the vest and asked, "Hey, Mr. Station Master!" The man hummed and turned to him. "Isnt this the Wild Area? What're we stopped here for?"
The man sighed crossing his arms. "Yes....This is the Wild Area Station makes no mistakes. I'm sorry to tell you that the train is halted due to a flock of wooloo."
"WHAT?!," both you and Gloria said at the same time.
A giant herd of wooloo!? Oh great! Now what were you all supposed to do?
Hop however wasn't the least bit concered. "What's there to be sorry about? This is brilliant!"
Gloria gave him a look that looked like he just did something crazy. "What is?"
He excitedly smiled widely at her. "This Wild Area is massive!" He explained the sobble in his arms giving a noise of annoyance at his sudden movements. "There are loads of pokemon to battle here! You don't get it do you, Glor? This is the best possible place to put together the greatest team!"
"I don't think we should be taking off, "Gloria pointed out and you nodded agreeing. "We have to get to the Entrance Ceremony soon or else we'll be considered forfeiting our sponsorships entirely!"
"That's the smartest thing you said all day," Victor mumbled.
"They take it that seriously?," you asked lightly surprised as she nodded.
"Something about a long time ago a lot of trainers tried to sneak their way into the challenge by claiming they were late to register or something like that. Since then the rules have been pretty strict. Which is why I want to register first and then come back here if I have a chance."
"When is the deadline?"
"Midnight. And as much as I'd love to explore around...Im kinda nervous about securing that spot."
You could totally agree with her on that point Buuut- You pointed behind you. "But the train's going to be backed up for a while by the looks of it. Maybe we can walk? How fair is this Motostoke?''
"Let's step out and see. The map said it shouldn't have been too far away I think."
That wasn't a bad idea and with no objections the four of you stepped out and what you saw made you pause. As soon as you stepped out you were hit with the strong rays of sunlight making you blink but once your (f/c) eyes managed to get a hold of themselves...Well....Breathtaking was a pretty good way to describe it. A giant meadow stretched as much as you could see with a giant lake, a few scattered trees, and A GIANT WALL! A giant wall was set up with a few bridge like structures to the right and you could see a few very tall buildings/structures ahead. You saw what you thought was oil rigs movie, a giant clock which reminded you of Big Ben back in your world, a few sky scrapers, and a few other things you were too far away to make out. Over all it was a very strange but pretty sight as the wind blew through the trees.
"Look at that!," Hop said in awe pointing at the buildings which must've been a decent half mile away. "That's Motostoke way off that way! And between here and there are countless new pokemon waiting to be met!"
Gloria hummed. ".......Well it would be cool to explore somewhere we won't get in trouble I guess."
"EXACTLY!!" He pointed towards the meadow. "Im itching to just see what's out there. It's not too far away and we can probably spare a couple hours. I mean we have until Midnight right? And we left pretty early in the morning."
She hummed again. "Well when you put it that way it does sound like fun!" A smile crossed her face again. "I can take a whole bunch of pictures for my scrapebook! And catch a few more pokemon of course."
You weren't sure that was a good idea- "Well well. You two running off again?"
The three of you turned- You blinked surprised. "Sonia?," you asked. True to your word the orange haired professor's assistant was walking right towards the four of you with a smile. "What are you doing here? I don't remember seeing you get on the train."
"Of course you didn't. I didn't enter the train through the station right side of the station," she smiled. "Besides. I figured it'd be an opportune time for me to travel for my research." Sonia gave a sigh and looked to the ground shaking her head. "My grab gave me a proper earful in her own way. 'Those two young trainers are setting out on a journey, but what are you doing with your life?' Her words not mine."
"Ouch Professor," you commented, "That sounds rough." You didn't mean to be so blunt but you kinda understood how she felt. Your mother had asked you similar things to that while simaltaniously pushing you to study more, go to college, and get a job-
Sonia waved you off. "Ah. Never mind that. Nothing to worry yourselves over. " Her eyes lowered back to the teens next to you. "Besides I've been more curious about that pokemon you two met in the forest. I'd been thinking I should look into it so the timing works out fine! If I discover something really huge then maybe even Gran'll admit I got some talent."
Pokemon- OH RIGHT!! You nearly forgot the legendary pokemon they saw in the fog. Although you were still unsure what it was exactly. A thought suddenly struck you. In the game Sonia would uncover some amazing things important to the plot of the game. If ONLY you could remember what it was!
"Yikes." Hop made a cringe face. "Being an adult got it's own challenges eh?"
You frowned and gave a chuckle and shake of your head which made him look at you. "Oh you have NO idea."
"I said you needn't worry about it," Sonia stated a little more firmly. "I'm glad to be on the road really! It's been ages. It'll be great fun to fish and camp and rough it outside again."
"Uh huh. Well you have fun with that! Meanwhile.." He turned with a smile. "I heard there's natural dynamaxing pokemon in the Wild Area! I'm off to go stick my head in as many of those red dens as I can find!"
"Not. So. FAST! Mr. Impatient!" He yelped when gloria grabbed him by the hoodie and with the same frown as her mother stared at him when she yanked him back. "We only got here and you want to run off again into the wild??"
"Oh c'mon Glory. I promise Ill meet you up back at the Entrance Ceremony."
The young girl hummed. ".....What time is it by the way?"
"Oh." You glanced to sonia as she rolled up her sleeve and glanced at her watch. "According to this it just turned Eleven thirty in the morning."
She hummed and slowly released her friend. "Fine. But let's agree to meet at the Entrance Ceremony at six or seven in the after noon. That should be enough time for the both of us to explore and get to the town before it gets dark." She gave a concerned frown. "I really don't want you hurt or lost."
Hop paused for a moment before looking away coughing his cheeks having a light pink hue. "Um....YEAH! I can totally do that!"
Her smile returned. "Then it's settled! Can't lose my rival before I even join the challenge."
"GREAT!!" He turned again. "I'm going to battle the snot out of a bunch of dynamax pokemon and fill in the tale of my legend!" And he ran off.
"DONT YOU DARE FORGET HOP!!," Gloria hollered after him.
Victor sighed before looking at Gloria and You, "I'd better go with him and make sure he doesn't really forget. I'll see you two later."
Both you and Sonia shared a chuckle at their childish behavior before she looked at you. What cheek. Dynamax pokemon are really on another level you know." She glanced to Gloria. "You'd better dynamax your partner pokemon too if you want to take on opponents that strong." She directed Gloria to the wild. "He's right about red dens. You'll find spots here and there in the Wild Area that emit a red beam of light. If you think you're up to it, check it out. They're usually cave openings with dynamax pokemon inside. But PLEASE be careful. It can be dangerous at times. I wish Hop would've waited for me to warn him before he ran off like that."
Gloria nodded in understanding as you looked down to your sobble climbing up your leg. Hop must've put him down when you weren't looking. "I understand Sonia! You don't have to worry about me!"
Sonia nodded to the two of you. "So with that Ill leave you two off here. The Wild Area is waiting for you. This is the start of your real adventure. Take care now."
You watched as she turned to walk away and....you weren't sure what really compelled you to say it in that moment but you reached your arm out after her. "Ms. Sonia!" She stopped and turned to you with a hum. You paused uncertainly if you should say anything. Would it affect the progress of the game's route? "I just....wanted to let you know that....You really are a great scientist already. And you're going to find a lot of things."
She blinked at you in surprise for a moment not sure what to make of your words, but settled on a smile and nodded. "Thanks. Your kind words mean a lot but we'll have to see what I actually accomplish. I wish you the best sights and experiences of Galar a tourist like you can have!" Before she turned and walked her way towards you assumed Motostoke.
"Wow." You jumped and looked to Gloria who smiled. "That was really nice of you. Even if it was a little out of no where."
You shrugged. "I guess I know how she feels a little bit. Sometimes a few kind words is what someone needs."
"Lee always says something similar, but I think he calls it 'champion encouragement'." She suddenly snapped her head forward and pointed. "Well you heard Sonia! I want to try out my first dynamaxing battle before I take on any gyms! We got about seven to eight hours to get some battling and sight seeing in so I say we give this day all we got!"
-time skip five hours forward-
You lost track of how many times Gloria pulled you along this way and that....but it was an eventful few hours.
You lost count of how many pokemon Gloria tried to battle. Key word being 'tired'. The first pokemon she tried to battle was one you remembered. An Onix. A. GIANT. MASSIVE!! AND CRANKY!! ONIX!! Probably didn't help Gloria snapped a picture of it before trying to battle it. You had to literally grab her and drag her behind you as you ran. Terrified scorbunny at your heels as it charged towards the two of you. Not the greatest start to be honest. But it wasn't as worst as her first dynamax battle. She had found an opening in the cliffside of a cave with red aura around in, one of the dynamax dens and she ran into it without a second thought with you chasing after her. Inside the dark was lit up by a GIGANTIC DIGLETT with the red-black cloud hovering over it's dynamax form. You nearly fainted then and there but when the thing ROARED you felt like you were about to have a heart attack!!! Your sobble poor thing made a small squeal of fright before forcing itself into your backpack to hide immediately. Things just went downhill from there when in the middle of the battle Gloria decided to dynamax scorbunny and all of a sudden you both were having a very hard time standing up from the shaking ground and the debry the attacks caused to the point you literally yelled that you both had to leave then and there but she couldn't hear you past all the noise and therefore barked orders to her gigantic scorbunny from her holding onto the ground. With you clinging onto the cave's wall for dear life hoping it would be over soon. Thankfully it did. It was all a blur really. You vaugly remembered Gloria somehow capturing the diglett and returning scorbunny to it's rightful size. And you two carefully climbed around disheveled cave floor until managing to get out of the cave....where the both of you collapsed onto the ground.
"HOW THE HECK CAN STADIUMS HANDLE THOSE THINGS!?,'' you yelled out dizzily into the soft grass. In the game you didn't have to worry about debry being flung at you or the ground giving away suddenly. BECAUSE IT WAS A GAME!! REAL LIFE POKEMON DYNAMAX BATTLES WERE NOTHING LIKE THE GAME!!"
Gloria raised a weak hand. "T-They were made a long time ago with top professors, contractors, and researchers to build them strong enough even a dynamaxed monchomp with the strength of a thousand earthquakes couldn't shake it. Dunno how but man I'm glad they did."
You could 100% agree with that! It took a minute for the both of you to recover before the two of you got up, dusted yourselves off, and went off again. Gloria managed to resume battling and taking photos of a few pokemon. Although some of the pictures were so blurry from the pokemon moving they would be no use at all and she didn't catch a lot of the pokemon she tried to battle. But she did win a few and even had two other dynamax battles within the dens you guessed the boys didn't come across. Catching one of them but not the other as you struggled to not lose your lunch or have a heart attack both times. You were not a fan of wild dynamax battles after that. At one point you even came across what Gloria explained was a wild berry tree and demonstrated how to get the fruits off them by forcibly shaking it until a couple berries fell off it. They all had a somewhat bitter taste you didn't like when you tried them tho, but your sobble seemed to enjoy up as you handed them right over when they extended their....hands?? Paws??...towards it. You couldn't remember how much time had passed before the two of you finally had a chance to sit down under the shade of a tree and have a break. Gloria took the time to go through all the pictures she took, must've been about thirty, but only twenty one were salvagable. Curious you took a peak at the pictures she showed you. The pokemon she got pictures of were a onix(of course angering it-), roselia, vespiquen, and a few others. Not a lot but certainly a decent haul for her. It was you who eventually asked the question-
"Hey. What time is it?"
Gloria responded by quickly pulling out her phone and checking the time on it. And she blinked. "It's four twenty seven! It's already been about five and a half hours!"
"Wha-" You looked up to the sky. Didn't look like sunset yet, but it was definitely about late after noon. You two hadn't even noticed the time fly by. "We've been out here nearly all day!"
With a hum gloria quickly scrambled to pick up her things. "I think we better head to Motostoke now. I don't really know how long it'll take to walk there and I did promise Hop we'd meet him there."
You nodded scooping the confused sobble into your arms. The walk there was pretty uneventful as you two walked what must've been half a mile, your eyes widening the closer you got, until you finally got there......AND. IT. WAS. NOTHING. LIKE IN GAME!! The entrance to Motostoke was all bricked with a medieval ages meets industrial period kind of look. All the buildings you could see were brick other than the familiar pink pokemon center and there was A LOT MORE people and buildings than in game you remember....makes sense you supposed. This was a real world and so of course there would be a lot more people and buildings. It was so crowded you were certain if Gloria wasn't walking beside you, you were sure you would've easily watched her. The first place you two stopped was the pokemon center where Gloria went inside to heal her pokemon from todays battle and put away any new ones she caught into those Rotomi box things. You were busy marveling at the busy streets and environment around you. You had never been in a city before let alone a town like this so it was quite a shock for you to see. This place even had GIANT WORKING GEARS BUILT INTO IT'S VERY WALLS!! It was like a real steampunk town. But once she came out she.....stopped and stared around her.
"So which way to the ceremony?," you asked her gazing at a few stores lined across the street.
She looked really unsure now fidgeting with the straps of her bag and looking around her. "U-Um...I don't know."
You snapped your head to her. "You don't what?!"
"Im sorry!" She apologized looking around. "I know it's here! I just.....don't know exactly where in town."
You wanted to facepalm but decided not too to avoid hurting her feelings and looked around as well as people and their pokemon passed you two. No signs of Hop or any indication of a ceremony anywhere in sight. No other trainers, no signs, certainly no ceremony!
Gloria suddenly held up her phone. "Maybe I should call him? He might already be there waiting for us-"
"HEY YOU TWO!!" A familiar voice called out and to both of your relief you turned and walking towards you with a shopping bag in one hand, yamper at her feet was your saving grace Sonia waving at you. "Over here!"
"SONIA!" Gloria smiled. "Boy are we glad to see you! We ran into a 'Leon situation' here."
That made her laughed. "Oh really? Real ace of you to make it through the Wild Area. And a Leon situation huh?"
Gloria nodded sighing. "We're kinda lost. Do you know where the ceremony is?"
"You're first time in a city and already lost? But Motostoke is big right?" Gloria nodded and Sonia smiled. "Not to worry. Sonia is here to show you around a bit."
"Thanks, Ms. Sonia." Gloria politely smiled at the older woman. "Could you point out where we gotta go?"
Sonia hummed. "The Entrance ceremony huh? I get a bit worked up when I think how exciting and moving it was to actually stand on a stadium's pitch for the first time." Sonia smiled off thinking of an old memory most likely. She shook her head. "Anyways. Brilliant young trainer who braved the Wild Area! Do you remember what your goal in Motostoke is?"
"I'm here for the Gym Challenge!," Gloria shouted determined smile on her face and Sonia nodded.
She nodded. "Yep! The Gym Challenge Opening Ceremony!" She pointed behind her at the busy street. You Guess since she once too here attending the Gym challenge with leon as kids she would know where it would be. "Use that lift over there to get to it K? OH! By the way the ceremony tomorrow is being held at the Motostoke Stadium ok?"
......You looked at Gloria. "There's a stadium here AND a second ceremony tomorrow??" Gloria shrugged at you.
"Well, laters!" She waved a hand at you two. "I'm going to swing by the shops while I'm here but don't forget to register at the Stadium,k?" Gloria nodded and Sonia went to tur- She stopped. "OH! I forgot. I got you a little something." Reaching into her coat pocket and fishing around, she pulled out what looked like at first glance some kind of training card before holding it out to Gloria who curiously accepted it...And her eyes WIDENED at it.
"NO!! WAY!!" She stared wide eyed between the card and Sonia. "Is this what I think it is!?"
She giggled. "Yep. I know Leon already sent myself and Hop a couple so I figured it would be the perfect start off to your own collection."
Gloria gave off a girly teen squeal and practically shoved it into your face making you blink. "OH MY MAGIKARP!! LOOK!! I GOT A LEAGUE CARD!!" You blinked and true to her word it was a card. And on it was a picture of Leon sitting down looking off somewhere. She smiled widely pulling it from your face. "Thanks so much So-...." She blinked. "Hey where'd she go?"
You shrugged. "I guess she left. Come on. We better get going."
She nodded ad the two of you made off for this lift at the end of the street. Along the way you guys passed a few stores. A flower shop, a cafe, a book store, a record shop, a barber shop, and another clothes shop. Once you two were at and on the lift....you became unsure again.
"Um. Now what?"
"I dunno..." Something caught her eye as she looked over and pointed. "hey what's that?"
"What's what?"
"This panel has a button." She pressed it.
"AH!!" You instantly fell to your bottom and Gloria grabbed onto the small pedestal as the lift suddenly lifted the two of you up and around, until it suddenly stopped again and you groaned. Pushing yourself up...and hearing a snicker. You shot a look to the teenager who was snickering behind her hand. "Nice to see you're still standing." You muttered pushing yourself up to your feet again and looking over, in front of the both of you was a giant building with glass doors, in front of the doors was two men in some kind of uniform and sunglasses like some bodyguard and some man with.....A Pokeball head?? Was waving to a few people passing by. A mascot maybe??.....You pointed at the building. "You think that's it or what?"
She went to answer but someone already beat here to it. "Gloria! Ms. Y/n!" Both of you looked over and the boys was making his way towards the two of you. "You made it too? "
You rubbed your aching back. "Yeah. Where are we?"
"Motostoke Stadium! This is where the Opening Ceremony will be held!" He exclaimed excitedly pointing to the large building behind him. "Everyone'll be watching the Opening Ceremony for the Gym Challenge! My mom, your mom, the whole world!! It's getting me a bit nervous really." He shook his head. "Naw. This isn't nerves. I'm only trembling because I'm so excited!"
"Well I say we go it and get registered before it gets too dark," Gloria suggested.
"You're right!" He turned back to the stadium still pointing. "Come on, Glory! It's time the world knows our names!"
As the three of you rolled up to the doors one of the two men standing in front of the door held one of their hands out in a clear stop motion in front of you four.
"Can I see your sponsorship letters please?," He asked holding out his hand and Hop didn't hesitate to pull his out of his pocket and have the letter over to the man in the meantime the twins had slung her backpack off her shoulders and went digging through it. You hoped she didn't forget it all the way back in Postwick. The security guard carefully examined the piece of paper in his hands. Running a hand across the red unbroken seal, holding it up to the light, and then taking a small device out of his pocket. A small green light came out and scanned it for a few seconds until there was a small ding from the machine and the man nodded before handing it back to him. "Head on inside and sign in Trainer. Next!" Saying a quick thanks Hop quickly snatched the letter back just as Gloria pulled out her own (thank goodness she still had it) and handed it to the man who repeated the same process from before he too handed them back hers and allowed them to go. But when you made a move to follow them he held another hand up. "Sorry, Ma'am. Only registered trainers, staff, and authorized personal are allowed inside. You'll have to wait out here. It's the rules."
You paused for a moment before looking at Gloria uncertain who smiled. "It's alright Y,n. Just wait for us out here ok? It shouldn't take too long. I mean we're just signing in!"
"Well...Alright if you say so." You gestured to a nearby bench. "I'll just wait for you two over there ok?"
They agreed and left you standing outside the stadium as they went inside. Not that you minded waiting of course. Your feet ached and your shoulders from carrying around your backpack all day, so plopping on the bench you gave your sore body a rest before slinging your pack off your shoulders. Your sobble had decided now would be a good time to fully crawl out of your pack from where its been hiding out this whole time and you let it climb on you when you placed your bag down with a sigh and leaned into the bench. FINALLY allowing yourself to rest for a while. You waited for a little while as people passed you, going up and down the lift and and streets as the body guards still stood there making sure no one entered without permission. A few teens Hop's age excited including" one boy with bright white fluffy hair and a long pink coat and you thought he looked rather grumpy. At one point you thought you heard a happy yell from somewhere but ignored it as it was probably a child playing somewhere. The sky slowly turning to a light pink as it got later in the day. Eventually the two did come back out but with what looked like white work out bands on their wrist that didn't have the dynamax bands on them. You waved at them as they walked right on over to you.
"Hey guys. Did everything go well?"
Victor nodded before smiling, "Although we might have to part ways for a while."
She gave her brother a confused look. "Whatcha mean?"
"I've decided to join Hop on this little adventure If he doesn't mind."
"Really!? That's awesome! Of course!" Hop was quick to agree with a friendly punch to Victor's shoulder. "Why wouldn't I want one of my greatest pals joining me while I write my legend? It'll be grand to have a traveling buddy of my own!"
"NO WAY!!" Gloria's large smile returned! "Oh this is great! We'll be able to see each other for a while more. I haven't been able to see you since you went on a journey last year so this is totally a win win for me in everyway!"
You nodded. "Oh. How'd the registry go?"
She waved a hand. "Oh y'know. We got our Challenger Bands we're apparently supposed to wear all the time so everyone knows we're a part of the registered trainers group. Our own League cards for the challenge. And we got to meet some of the rival trainers in there too! I liked the Sherry girl. She seemed really shy."
"I heard she was sponsored by the Gym Leader Milo but I can't be too sure," Victor replied before looking up at the sky. ".....But in any case I believe we should all head to Budew Drop Inn before the actual ceremony tomorrow." He turned to Gloria. "That way I can show you all the new pictures of pokemon I've gotten. You can use them for that dex challenge thing you told me about."
They turned and you nodded in agreement standing up and grabbing your bag, your sobble grabbing onto your bag as your hoisted it back over your shoulders and followed them guessing they must've known the way.
"By the way how many pictures of pokemon did you add to your collection?," Gloria asked glancing at her twin.
"Um." He made a thoughtful face. "Well let's see. Nessa's Aquarium has at least one of every water type pokemon...and with how many nature preserves I've stayed...and with the hundreds of tourists with different regions pokemon....and trading pictures with fellow photographers from different regions at the International Photographers Expo..........Six hundred thirty four different pokemon!"
There was silence for a moment.
"........WHAT?!"
The four of you made it down the street and over to the six story building that certainly looked like a fancy hotel. Along the way the children explained that the Chairman had not only endorsed as well but apparently paid the hotel in advance to allow all the trainers to stay the night before the actual ceremony took place the next day and the challengers were officially given the go ahead to start their journey. But a small surprise awaited the four of you yet in the hotel when you walked in and you looked around. There was a couple potted plants, two pairs of stairs leading up to another level with furniture, a sign in desk, and an elevator like a regular hotel but the thing your eyes were drawn to was the golden statue. It reminded you of those knights in ancient fairy tales. The golden man stood with his sword held up to the sky, a gleamering shield on his other arm in defense, and his face one of determination to not fail. Quite the craftsman ship. And standing right in front of it with a small yamper at her feet was-
"SONIA!" Gloria loudly greeted startling the poor lady and making her turn around.
Upon seeing who it was she sighed and smiled. "Oh it's just you guys. You gave me quite the jump scare there. But it looks like you both got yourselves registered." She nodded to the arm bands before her gaze drifted to Victor as she blinked. "....Oh. Hiya! I don't think we've met."
"This is my brother, Victor. He's gonna be with Hop for a while. But what are you doing here? I thought you were going out to study."
"Yeah." Hop chimed in. "What are you doing at our hotel?"
"Oh!" She shifted the many shopping bags in her arms. Guess she did go shopping while here after all. "I'm researching the mysterious pokemon that are said to be in the Slumbering Wield. I reckon if I look into some of Galar's lengends I might figure something out. Care to join me?" She gestured to the statue. "You're here already anyways."
"SURE! It'd be fun!" She turned to you."Hey. Y/n new to Galar. I don't think she even knows the legends."
"That's perfect then! While you're doing that, Im gonna go stand in that long like up there and secure a spot for us ok?"
"But I-" You raised a hand as theVictor turned and walked away leaving you with sonia and the other two...and you sighed. "I don't think I was that way when I was fourteen."
Sonia chuckled. "We were all like that at one point or another. But would you like to hear one of the legends? A newbie to Galar like you might enjoy some foreign tales."
"I'd like to hear too!"
You stared at her for a moment before shrugging. "Why not? I was just cast out from the little tribe."
She chuckled even more before she turned towards the statue. "Alright then. I'm sure you've seen the statue then.''
"Yeah." You rose a brow looking back up to the handsome man's golden face. "Who is he anyways?"
"It's a statue of the hero who once saved the Galar Region. I can run through the legend right quite if you fancy?" You nodded and that was all she needed to continue. "Long ago a great black storm covered the Galar Region." She gazed back to the statue. "People called it 'The Darkest Day'. The land was assaulted by gigantic pokemon but they were defeated by a single young hero bearing a sword and shield. This statue here is meant to depict the young hero of that legend. We still don't understand what kind of sword and shield the hero actually had. And what this 'black storm' is supposed to be is just another mystery. Whatever it was, it blotted all the skies across Galar. I suppose that tracks with it being 'the Darkest Day' but still..."
Hop blinked blinking at the golden statue's face and scratching his head. "Huh...I suppose that hero must've been about as strong as Lee then. Looks like you're going to have your hands full with plenty research though, Sonia. Black storms and swords and shields and all..."
"You'll be alright Sonia!"
She chuckled. "Heh. Thanks. I'll muddle through somehow. Don't you worry." She shook her head. "But legends aside. You three are staying at the hotel tonight though, right? Shouldn't you check in?"
"Probably so. Victor's holding our place in line." With a smiled similar to Leon he smiled widely at her. "And we'll look out for you too, Sonia! If we hear anything about any hero or whatnot we'll tell you!" Gloria nodded with a hum.
Sonia bowed her head in thanks to the two. "Thanks so much. Even if you don't find anything the thought's appreciated." As the kids said good byes and walked around her to a stair case you paused as she lifted her head and gazed at you. "I hope you enjoyed my little tale."
You smiled and nodded. "Yes. It was really entertaining. Thanks for telling me."
She nodded. "And thanks for taggin' along with the kids this far. I know we're practically strangers but there's just....I don't know....really good aura about you." You chuckled. You? Really good aura? That certainly was a first. "I'm sure Lee appreciates it too. He's always so worried about Hop. He practically raised him after all-" All of a sudden it was like a switch flipped off in her mind and her happy smile went to a sudden shocked face. "Oh no. I didn't mean to mention that. Please forget I even said that."
Your brow rose confus- "Y/N! C'MON! We got our room key already!"
You looked up to Gloria's call before back to Sonia before waving good bye and leaving. Wondering what the heck that was all about. Oh well. You had bigger things to worry about- Like the the fact that the three kids had gotten into a fight with four punk rockers!! You had just walked up the stairs and instantly was face to face with the three teenagers up in the faces of four people who dressed in black and red from their face paint to their outfits shouting something about they're going to cheer someone on and no one could stop them. You couldn't tell between the seven people shouting at one another and the front desk clerk trying to calm them down. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE YOUNG GIRL WHO STOPPED IT ALL!! She walked up the stairs and stopped next to your shocked state. A look of shock coming over her own face for a moment before she sighed and that snapped you out of your trance long enough for you to look at her. She was a teenager same around the same age as the other children with black hair tied back in two ponytails by red ribbon, a pink dress, with a black leather jacket and boots.
"What are you lot doin' here?" She had asked in what sounded what a brittish accent but you were sure Britain wasn't a thing in this world. Instantly the fighting stopped from the punk rockers as the they looked to her shocked like a couple toddlers caught taking candy. One shouted what you assumed was her name. Marnie you thought? As they stuttered out excuses. "I know you all are terribly curious 'bout the other gym challengers, but you gotta show a bit of restraint." Well it was nice of her to settle them down before she apologized. "Sorry 'bout them. They're just a bunch of my fans. Call themselves Team Yell and follow me around. cheerin' for me. I think they've let it all go to their heads a bit.....Come on you lot. Back home with you now!" She sighed as they guiltily slunk away past you down the stairs. "They're just so caught up with wantin' to support me and all that they tend to get a bit short with other Gym Challengers. Sorry if they caused you any trouble."
With that she simply walked past the lot of you, got her room key, and just walked away like it never even happened. You were still in a bit of shock but shook it off in favor of getting to the room you'd be bunking in with Gloria and have a small break from today. The inner workings weren't too different from the hotels you've been to before and was more than eager to plop yourself down and have a rest. The rest of the afternoon was a blur. At one point all three kids were sitting around the bed helping sort through Victor's collection of photos and helping Gloria glue in quite a lot of them into that small book of theirs. Hop mentioned about calling room service and Gloria suggested the four of you order each a different curry to help her fill in a bit of her curry challenge book as well. Which you had no problem against. It was free room service and you were interested in trying some of this world's curry since it was supposed to be world famous as Sonia told you. You ended up randomly choosing Sweet Curry as someone phoned it to the front desk and waited for it too arrive. It was pretty good. But it wasn't too different from Mrs. G's curry you had tasted other than the sauce on the rice tasted a mildly hot enough to be sweet. Of course that didn't stop Gloria was taking your curry's picture along with Hop's that had a massive egg in what was call a bitter boiled egg curry, Gloria's was a dry smoked tail curry(you hoped that wasn't an actual tail, and you think Victor's was leek curry with some kind of veggies decorating the plate. You ended up letting your sobble finish what food was leftover after you ate and soon you two found yourselves bidding the two boys good night and went to finally rest for the night. After getting a quick shower you decided it was best to go to bed since the actual Ceremony was tomorrow. Gloria had gotten the bed and you borrowed the sleeping bag Mrs. G had given Gloria. As the darkness slowly consumed your vision as your eyelids drooped you vaguely registered your sobble climbing on one of the shelves.
.........
CRASH!!
Both of you were startled away in the dark from a giant crash and a couple panicked chirps before you were tackled by an invisible spooked sobble burrowing under your arm as Gloria turned on the lamp to reveal the pokemon's mess.
"Y/n! Your sobble knocked over the shelf!"
"Uuuuuuhhhhh!!!"

Dead by Daylight
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Background
Dead by Daylight is a notorious game known and loved by many around the gaming and horror communities. Many may know it due to the trends with Ghost Face and others may know it primarily from ads or recommendations. This game is overall phenomenal and if you're a fan of horror this might just be the game for you! The game consists of two sides, the killer and the survivors. There's one killer hunting up to four survivors who's jobs are to fix the generators all around the map to escape while also protecting and saving each other from the killers grasp. Currently there are 37 playable survivors including the well known Laurie Strode from the Halloween franchise, Cheryl Mason (Silent Hill), the beloved Leon Scott Kennedy (Resident Evil™) and lastly my personal favorite Dwight Fairfield (he's just there and he's great). As for killers there are 32 to choose from. Some of these killers are The Shape (Michael Myers), The Cannibal (Leatherface), The Nightmare (Freddy Krueger), The Pig (Amanda Young) and again my own favorite The Ghost Face. All characters have dynamic plots and different characteristics.
Throughout the matches players collect blood points that are spent on character upgrade/level ups. The further you get through the bloodweb (where your upgrades are) the stronger your character is capable of being and the more features you unlock. Throughout the bloodweb you also collect items which may help during matches, this includes med kits, offerings and much more. This game is very lore heavy if you're into a story line but you don't really have to follow it, there's information on each character and its all dynamically planned out through seasons of the game. It shows real storylines of the characters from already made movies, games, etc. and storylines of their own characters (Dwight). This game doesn't require you to know the lore but if you're someone into a good storyline definetely read into it!
Rating
Dead by Daylight is a fun game and I've had it for a few years. Unfortunately I can't play it consistently without getting bored of it for a while. It's good but repetitive in some aspects and the wait time for the lobbies is deadly. Literally. It takes really long to load into a game with others if you're in a solo queue so I suggest playing with at least a friend. Other than that if you're into horror and surviving games this will be right up your ally. ★★✰✰✰ Co-op Experience ★★★★✰ Scare (I get jump scared by the killers often) ★★★★✰ Lore/Content ★★★✰✰ Overall Gameplay

Buy it, don't buy it. This game isn't life changing but its one of the better games out there and overall I'd rate it at least a 7/10. Its not exceptional and as said earlier it gets a tad boring at least for me. If you need something to play it's still definetely a recommendation.

♡ stars & champagne | bruabba ♡
genre: fluff
a young bruabba moment on the roof
published: 2020
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"It's open," Bruno said softly, his face lighting up when Leone sticks his head in.
"I got champagne."
"And?"
"And I need someone to drink it with, of course," Leone said, rolling his eyes and grinning.
"Where are we going to drink it though?"
"Rooftop. You down?"
"Actually, I'm up," Bruno joked, climbing off of his bed and treading lightly out the door, shutting it gently behind him.
"The stars are so beautiful," Leone exhaled quietly, looking up at the night sky.
"But not as beautiful as-"
"Actually shut up. I will bash your skull in if you finish that sentence."
"-As me," Bruno finished, a large, troublesome grin on his face.
Leone sighed. "I regret ever letting you talk to me."
"No, you love me."
"Wrong," Leone objected, laughing and pouring himself another glass of champagne.
This was something he couldn't get enough of. Beautiful stars, beautiful champagne, and beautiful Bruno. He could only dream of this being a real date, not a friendly get-together at 2 a.m. He's mean, but truly does care about the man next to him. He's head over heels in love with him. But, he's bound and determined to keep it a secret.
Leone turned his head toward Bruno, who had his neck stretched, face upturned, focused on the stars. The older man couldn't help but smile at the younger.
God, does he wish he could kiss him. He wonders how even in the dark, someone can outshine every single star in the night sky. How one person can light the room up better than any light on earth. How one person can be the only thing that lights up his face. How that one person came to be Bruno.
"Leone?"
"Yeah?" he responded, snapping out of his thoughts.
"What was the real reason you brought me out here? Normally you would've done this alone."
"I just wanted you out here," he lied.
Bruno wasn't fooled. "No, the real reason, stupid."
"Okay, fine. I needed you out here. Happy now?"
"Very."
And with that, Bruno turned his attention back on his glass of champagne and the sky, and Leone kept his gaze on the brightest star he's ever seen.
He'd get to call Bruno "my star" one of these days, he'd make damn sure of it. The obsidian-haired man lying next to him would soon be his. The sweatshirt on his body would soon mean more than a close friendship. The name Leone would soon mean more to Bruno than "best friend." The phrase, "I love you," will soon mean more than platonically.
Only if Bruno likes him back, that is. "He doesn't like me. I can't ask him out, he'll reject me! I'd lose him for good..."
"Just ask me out you fucking loser," Bruno thought. "I know you like me, I like you, please just ask."
Bruno's heart jumped as the man with purple hair turned to look at him. Maybe he could start a conversation. Maybe he won't get too nervous.
"The stars are so beautiful," the younger man whispered.
"They're just giant balls of gas, Bruno."
"You know what," he said, displeased with the other's answer. "If you're just going to ruin this then I-"
He stopped in the middle of his sentence, cut off by Leone's champagne-coated lips on his. Bruno froze for a moment, finally relaxing and kissing back with passion. Their lips moved together in a perfect system, like planets moving around their star. He had wanted this for so long. He could taste the lipstick on Leone's lips, smell the familiar scent of his best friend, only amplified. He never wanted it to end.
Leone pulled back slowly after a few seconds, smiling and staring lovingly at Bruno.
"And yet none of them are as massive as my love for you," he confessed.
Bruno inhaled sharply, unable to speak. So, Leone spoke for him.
"Everyone needs a star," he spoke softly, gently placing his hand on Bruno's cheek. "Will you be mine?"
The latter's face heated up quickly as he nodded. Bruno began to smile furiously, kissing Leone again, who immediately responded.
Once they came back up for air, the couple finished their champagne and headed hand-in-hand back inside. Leone brought Bruno back to his room, stopping at the door.
"Goodnight, Leone."
"Night, Bruno."
Just as he turned to leave, Bruno called him back.
"You can stay here... if you want," he mumbled.
"I was waiting for you to say that," Leone smirked. "Let me grab a blanket."
Not a minute later, he returned, walking into the room and flopping onto the bed. Bruno curled up beside him, sighing happily when he felt his boyfriend's arms around his waist.
He wasn't aware that Leone stayed awake for hours, just trying to figure out how he got so lucky. He wasn't aware that he kissed his forehead and played with his hair while he slept. He wasn't aware that Leone whispered, "I love you, Bruno," before falling asleep with a smile on his face and a happy heart.
"you might not have been my first love
but you were the love that made
all the other loves
irrelevant"
