I thought I'd start uploading my takes on the hazbin characters I've done so far for anyone who wants to see them. Along with why I made the choices I did!

These are gonna be real rough as most of the pics I've done so far are my first take, get these ideas on "paper", so please excuse the varying quality lolol riiipp

Anyway! Husk! I have so much to say about his design lol

I really wanted to give the main cast distinct colour palettes and ages ago I someone else take on Husk where they added green to his design in relation to casino tables, which I thought was great!

As I was doing my own take on husk I kept thinking about green for him and so looked into the colour, the more i read the more it fit! Green being associated with Greed and money but also safety and calmness! so I when with green haha

In my desgins I will be pushing for a diverse range of body types too! I love everyone who draws Husk as a big ol' kitty <3

I added the card suits back into his design, but in a subtle way. I wanted him to be more reprisented with the club as it's linked to Growth, so I put them on the ends of his ears and tried to make his tail feathers kinda look like it too (but I'm not 100% i n love with it so will probs change). I changed the direction of the hearts on his paws so that when he holds his hands out to someone Angel it shows a heart but if he holds his hands up defensively they look like a spade, which are linked to death, so could be read as a threat. He doesn't have many dimonds on him anymore as they are linked to wealth and prosperity, I think they would be more present in his Overlord look.

I made him look more scruffy too tho i did give mans a shirt as i wanted to push the "Guy who has lost it all and has kinda given up on 'life'" angle, so he's missing a few feathers, his fur is all over the place etc. . I'm also on the headcannon that Husk carries very few possessions as he never knows when or where Alastor will drag him to, so has like three shirts (if that) that he can hardly be motivated to clean most days.

part 2 of my Pirates SMP theory

So last time I ended off on the realization that if the People of the Yellow Ship are basing their choices off of the character's backgrounds, then Scott is probably going to be the next victim (sorry people who are already attached to the Denholm brothers).

But regarding my joke about hair colour being the reason it can also work because. You know.

But now here's where I start theorizing about the future. I think, that the Kestrels will be eliminated first, or at least targeted the most overall. If this is how it goes than it implies that there is monetary gain to turning innocent pirates (haha, there's no such thing) to stone. Much like real cultists, there be gold to be given if you can just persuade 'em. I assume that Scott also comes from money so it would make sense in that context too. Owen also comes from money but I doubt he'll be targeted until towards the end, due to his main character energy.

Actually, it would be a subversion of tropes if Owen was picked off early. It would be an opportunity to make like a true DM and control the world from the aether. Make like a Grian and become a god of spectators. I doubt it will go this way but it would be an interesting choice.

If my theory of the Kestrels being picked off first turns out to be true more or less, than it would honestly be a waste. Starkid taught me that leaving the more unlikeable characters alive closer to the end (hi Ted) tends to be the right call. I think. I don't actually consume much horror media, I don't know how this works as well as most people. But it is interesting to me that the Kestrels are the only faction to not have been given a more favourable, positive value.

The Kites may be brutish murderers (at least to some) but they have honour, and passion. The Nightingales were mentioned once to value family, which combined with adventure is a combination of values I've never seen before. And the Herons are already pretty appealing to the Ravenclaws of us (sorry to invoke the worldbuilding of Miss Rowling). The Kestrels are really only mentioned to value wealth which, especially with much of the mcyt community being young anti-capitalists, already gives us a reason to dislike them. Especially with Sausage, Kyle and Oli really playing into the greedy rich man archetype, and Scar committing crimes of the stealing and scamming variety (although let's be honest, we can't hate Scar for that, if anything. There's a reason why most of the fanart so far has been about him and not the lesbian couple whose deaths kickstarted the lore, I see you all).

I haven't seen Martyn's POV yet so I don't know where his character lies on the spectrum, but Guqqie seems to be the only good member of the Kestrels, though even she dabbled a little in the casual blatant joking classism. With her gone, and Sausage seeming to consider himself leader (getting indignant when someone suggested that Jellie lead the Kestrels), the Kestrels might have an opportunity to corrupt and become even more villainous. It would seem like a waste if they were eliminated before they had a chance to become memorable villains, though maybe there is a reason for that. After all, one of the easiest ways to make a villain scarier is to have them kill the lesser villain off (some good examples are Toffee from Star VS and The Mayor from Lego Monkie Kid, even though Toffee didn't really kill Ludo).

Now if the People of the Yellow Ship (YES, I'M TRYING TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN) were smart, the faction they'd target next would be the one that poses the biggest threat. This could be two, really. The Kites pose the stronger physical threat, of course. They're all fighters, and the Kites seem to have the least qualms about killing, if things come to that. If it comes down to a physical altercation between Kites and Yellows, the Kites would presumably win (unless we simply haven't seen the true force of the People yet. That would be interesting, if the faction set up as the most physically powerful was less than the villains (after all, a Kite was the first to die to the vines), though I wouldn't expect that from fictional cultists. Something about them just gives a d&d wizard vibe, if you know what I mean)

The other next best choice to attempt to eliminate (assuming, of course, that the villains are tactical like this) would be the Herons. Discovery is literally in their bio, and they seem like the most likely to play detective. If the Herons discover what the People of the Yellow Ship are up to, then they could rally the entire rest of the Faction Isles, and all the pirates from all the other branches across the archipelago, to take down the threat of presumably smaller numbers (unless some don't believe them, or the writers want to make a political allegory and have them not be able to all come together even in crisis (I watched Don't Look Up yesterday.)). The People have a branch (if abandoned-looking) on the Isle itself, which might even mean that they have a spy on the inside, pardon the paranoia. But this gives the Herons an opportunity to investigate without even leaving home, which honestly must be terrifying for them.

The Nightingales have some overlap with the Herons, but they seem to value adventure more for the thrill, for the personal experience rather than documentation. The type to judge a Heron for taking pictures while on vacation, if it were a modern setting. Combine that with the fact that I haven't seen many Nightingales so far, and this makes it seem like they'd be the least threatening to the cult. The cult might even view the Nightingales as distractable bleeding-heart losers who care about family, yuck. /j This puts them at the least risk.

Now, who does that leave to be, if all goes to plan, the last one standing? HeyGraecie (I've never heard of you before, sorry), the only character revealed yet to have been a Nightingale since before this year's Factioning. And... Acho. The one who left the Herons for the "family" faction. The one who has a brother who will probably be targeted next.

Damn... between you, Acho, and Olive... I hope you both at least are allowed to attempt to be heroes.

yeah but i don't like it. the plan is to change it someday, but there's some things i gotta improve about myself before i can...

2. when was the last time you cried?

a few days ago. i got 2am sad about things i thought i'd gotten over.

3. do you have kids?

no but every now and then the baby fever comes a-knockin...so maybe in the future

4. what sports do you play/ have you played?

sports were life for me!! i did soccer, horseback riding, swimming, volleyball, tennis. i also started to snowboard recently! but if life had worked out the way i wished it did, i would've stuck to horseback and joined a college team. i've loved horses since forever and the comfort they bring is something else.

5. do you use sarcasm?

6. what’s the first thing you notice about people?

eyes and the way people talk, i.e. the sound of their voice & accent, maybe habits that they have in terms of how often they use a word (uh, like, etc.). but on the other hand, eyes!! very hard for me to resist the pull of a pretty pair.

7. what’s your eye colour?

brown! i used to feel meh about the color but i like them a lot more, now.

8. scary movies or happy endings?

happy endings. i saw the babadook once and that shit fucked me up real bad for a long time. i still can't really look into the darkness for too long or i start seeing things.

9. any talents?

music! i take to instruments very quickly and have what you might call perfect pitch (ew). same goes for my athleticism. my hand-eye coordination has always been pretty good and it makes it easy for me to jump back into things even if i've been inactive for some time.

except golf. i've always been ass at golf.

i was born in a place that i'll probably never see again! some teeny tiny suburb.

11. what are your hobbies?

i like to collect enamel pins! every where i travel i try to up a few. i also love doing pottery on the wheel, making pots and bowls. making lil animals to sit on my shelves.

i also love to ice skate and listen to music. and finally, i obviously very much enjoy reading fic and chit chatting about it with my buddies on here.

no but i fostered a cat once. he was my lil nutty angel.

14. favourite subject in school?

political theory. my favorite professor in the whole wide world completely redefined what it meant to study the topic and when i think about him and the classmates i had and the conversations and experiences we bonded over for too long, i definitely cry about it haha. man. i miss it.

i also really enjoyed studying american politics, specifically the history of conspiracy. i remember having to read 'the paranoid style in american politics' by richard hofstadter for a class and it was both parts fascinating and terrifying.

15. dream job?

i don't really have one anymore because i think i already got it. but obviously, things can change and knowing me, they definitely will.

Whisper n Tangle Roommate AU!

*Relatively new to fanfic and sth in general, so be wary of that! WIP btw. really like new to fanfic, seriously. dont expect much lol

Tangle sat on her messy, half-made bed which was missing a bedsheet and only had one pillow, the entire thing barely held up by its metal frame. She collapsed onto it, launching herself back as she took her phone from her pocket and stared at her empty inbox.

"Ohhhhhh man. This is so boring." She said to herself, having done nothing exciting for the last week. Week. She was really getting tired of this town.

She'd seen all the sights, tried all the food, she'd done everything she could here. There was nothing stopping her from moving on-

Until she got a message from her landlord.

"Huh?" She exclaimed as she swiftly pressed the notification, her eyes darting across the words at a frankly excessive speed. She read the message aloud to herself,

"Dear Tangle. You've got a new roommate staying with you. She's arriving at 12:30, and her name is Whisper. Please don't make a bad impression." Tangle read.

"Huh. Finally some excitement- he could've let me know she was arriving in.." Tangle spoke to herself as she checked her phone's clock, a surprised expression dawning on her face.

"...5 MINUTES!? And he expects ME! TANGLE! Not to make a bad impression. When have I EVER made a bad impression!?" Tangle said overdramatically, looking at her bedroom, which was littered with;

2 full garbage cans,

5 wrinkled posters, 3 that were scattered across the floor.

and 6 framed photos of cool critters she saw.

"....Okay. Maybe he had a point. I really need to tidy up if I'm getting a roommate. Wonder if I'll get a bigger apartment, then, aswell." Tangle asked herself.

"Meh." She shrugged.

She quickly grabbed the two bins, rushing out of her apartment and down the stairs to the garbage outside. She threw all the garbage from the can into it, and rushed back to her apartment-

Where, she was struck.

Not, actually hit, or physically hit.

Lovestruck. And rather embarrassed at the trail of trash she left behind her in her rush to throw it all away.

a gorgeous wolf with closed eyes, a well-kept, long biscotti-coloured ponytail the same tone as her fur, a pair of steel-toed shoes fit for harsh traveling, a shy smile with an exceptionally sharp tooth that stuck out, a variable wispon, and a specially crafted mask to help increase ranged accuracy, almost all engulfed in a large black cloak adorned with poaches.

"Uhm...Hi... Sorry. I'm your roommate. The new one. You left the door unlocked...so I let myself in. Sorry."

"Oh! Haha, no that's fine-" Tangle said, snapping out of it.

"Wait- where's your bags? All your stuff? Shouldn't you kinda, y'know, need that?" She asked.

"Oh. I put it in that room over there..... I think it was your room- or, uh, our room. I won't be here much. I travel alot. There's a sleeping bag in there." Whisper responded slightly sheepishly.

"Alright...cool!- I like traveling too! Don't get to travel alot though, actually." Tangle said, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly as she wandered off into her- their room.

Whisper followed behind.

As Tangle arrived in her room, she sat on her bed and patted next to her- offering Whisper to sit next to her.

Whisper didn't utter a single word as she shook her head to signal a 'no.'

"Suit yourself. Anyway, have you been on any cool adventures? Fought any badniks? Man, I've always wanted to fight one of those- obviously, not to for just a rush or anything, but to be a hero, y'know? Like that Sonic dude. Help people out." Tangle said as Whisper simply nodded.

"I've...been on a few.

I fought a couple badniks. Me and my Wisps-"

Whisper gestured towards the swarm of Wisps following her.

"- Took down some."

"Aw, sweet! Well, I know this one coffee shop that's not too far away. Maybe tomorrow we could head there and talk about your journeys then?"

"Mm...Okay. Maybe." Whisper replied, smiling ever-so-slightly.

"Great! Can't wait." Tangle replied excitedly.

Tangle looked around her room as silence filled it.

"Uhm..."

She stared at all the trash.

"So, yeah, I'm just gonna continue taking out this stuff, 'k?" Tangle said with an embarrassed smile.

The day went much quicker that- er, day. By the time Tangle had finished cleaning, she'd moved on to making herself dinner-

She grabbed a packet of microwaveable ramen from the cupboards. "Soo....want some ramen?" Tangle said to Whisper, who was lying in her sleeping bag and staring at the ceiling.

"Mm." Whisper said with a nod.

Tangle replied with a cheerful thumbs up as she emptied the ramen into a microwaveable bowl, setting microwave's timer as she placed it in.

Tangle tapped her foot as the time passed, waiting for the ra-

Ding.

She took the ramen from the microwave, and got out another bowl. She divided the ramen and walked over to Whisper.

"Here y'go! Ramen. Microwaved ramen." Tangle said as she sat comfortably next to Whisper. "It's not much, though- Sorry 'bout that." She continued.

"S'okay. Thought counts..." Whisper muttered.

Tangle smiled shyly as she absentmindedly gazed at Whisper, not even touching her ramen as Whisper ate next to her.

"...you okay?" Whisper said as she turned to Tangle, confused to why she wasn't eating her ramen.

"Huh- oh, what- Yeah. Yeah I'm fine." Tangle said with a surprised expression and red face, turning from Whisper to eat her ramen.

She tried her best not to look it, but she was screaming in her head.

"Oh my god oh my god oh my god TANGLE. LOOK AT YOU. YOU JUST STARED AT HER! FOR AGES! ohmygodyoumustlooksocreepyrightnow. oh god. oh god." Echoed in her thoughts, panicking profusely over nothing.

"I'm, uh- gonna go to bed now!" Tangle said as she finished the last of her ramen, covering her face as she blushes and walks over to her bed.

Whisper looks at her with a puzzled glare, and then rolls into her own sleeping bag.

"G'night." Whisper...whispers? Sweetly, dozing off surrounded by a group of sleeping wisps.

"Night!" Tangle said as she could barely sleep.

Love does wonders for all-nighters.

First and foremost loved the latest chapter and congrats on the amazing new job!!!

I was dying my hair black again after I had bleached it white for months cause the gojo brain rot is severe and i realised at the end that, haha I looked like megumi

And so i was thinking since gojo is trying to be his own person instead of just being labelled as the strongest. This, just as he loves he colour orange and hates blue maybe he could wear a black wig for a joke or maybe dye his hair, because that's again a very defining trait of his but mostly because he would look exactly like megumi and toji and i think that the gangs reactions would be pretty hilarious, megumi would be pissed but secretly happy when everyone says that gojo and him look alike and old man Toji would just tear up a little

Just a suggestion, no pressure! Can't wait for the next chapter btw. <3<3<3<3<3<3

aww, that'd be so cute!! the fluff scene in this chap is already mostly written, but it's something i'll keep in mind for later. they do totally have the same spiky hair, even if the colors are opposites.

Fugaku has dropped by to see his child. Itachi directs him to where Clarence was with an amused smile before disappearing to tend to his children. The Patriarch hums to himself as he moves toward him, ruffling his hair then pressing a kiss to his forehead. ❝ ━ Wanna take a walk through the gardens with me ? It's nice out. ❞ After coaxing the other outside, there's a small smile softening his features as they walk together, ❝ ━ I'm really proud of you. You've grown a lot in the time I've known you, and it's a sight to see. ❞

He goes quiet, contemplative as he raises his features toward the sun. There's no shortage of fondness that he holds for the child, and Fugaku hope the warmth that often fills him can also be felt by Clarence. ❝ ━ Why don't you tell me about what you've been up to ? Everyone is beginning to miss you back home, I have tell them how you've been. ❞ He chuckles at the thought of everyone who asks about all of them. It's nice. Family is always going to worry, but love is universal.

It is strange at times, to think he was the child the Uchiha wished to see instead of… y'know, the bloodline offspring. Ane-san was a man of many things but to think Clarence took his place, though spoken and proven to be incorrect many a-times. Clarence still felt a bit of guilt. He's never had a family like this, never a Father that didn't raise a hand or not hurt him for the smallest things. So, colour him beyond the norm in finally getting to experience that with the Uchiha-Kai back in their own lands. Clarence couldn't recall the last time he felt like he was tearing a limb off when he finally went back home to the Kimon-Kai after a stretch of two months under the Uchiha's roof.

It felt foreign to say the least, getting back into things.

Still, it's been under a month now since he's been back with Kenta and Fushimi, his work was smaller, less on his shoulders, but his network was vast. His reputation still strong even as he's been out in the field for so long due to his mind state. It was nice, though - to be trusted without a singular doubt. To welcome Kenta back into his bubble, to say farewell to Naosuke and Oleg who moved on with their married life. To fully meet Ume without worry, to reunite with Sasaharu and have one of the best cuddles he had since knowing the man. To sit as Itachi's side and rest his head with the voices get too loud and to sleep with the nieces and nephews in a pile of blankets and soft snores.

Now though - he was standing alongside Fugaku again, his Bàba - walking with easy steps over white stones and through bright green leaves. Though the season was the opposite of this sight, it was maintained through mutants in the home. Gardeners always had a healthy green thumb - they only allowed the vegetation to rot and freeze when requested over the holidays, but now it was to be blossoming all over again. A worthy sight for someone this important to Clarence now. Though, to be asked something, he didn't know how to word it. Things were… good? He was learning life and stability a little bit more. It wasn't an instant fix, but it was a great hurdle he took with the Uchiha-kai.

"Better… I've been getting better. I still find it hard, odd and strange - but I am … getting better." He nodded with clear flickering of the eyes - a few persons were fronting here, but it wasn't a full take over. Just kept Clarence a little rooted to the spot with each other until they settled down. "I've gotten back into hairdressing again… Slowly rebuilding my collection of goods. I was thinking of reopening my salon… " Something would be great like that. The stress of the world snipped away with the locks of clients. It was appealing to him. "Would you and Haha-ue visit if I did?"

"Technicolour! Where the hell are you?!"

Pupa's voice echoes through the hallways as he walks through it, his eyes darting from one direction to the other, trying to find the man in question. "Gosh...why is he so fucking stupid...? Didn't Aleph told him to stay with us the entire time?" He asked himself, but obviously he can't give an answer to himself either.

"Technicolour! Technicolour!!!!!!" Pupa yelled louder, but still no response came from Technicolour. Instead, he heard something else.

"Huh?! Who's there?! Show yourself!"

"What the- Wait....Fate?!" Pupa called, his walking turned into a full on sprint. He looked around, before spotting Fate in the end of the hallway, looking around for the source of the voice that called out to her. Alongside her, is none other than Hikaru.

"Oh, thank god I found you guys. You guys aren't even the ones I'm trying to find, but this is nice too." Pupa said. "Wow. Really? Did you really had to mention the part where we're NOT supposed to be the ones you're looking for?" Fate asked him, her voice indicating that she's very irritated by that fact for some reason.

"Whatever. Mr. Pupa, when did you came in here?" Hikaru asked, turning his head to look at the man in question. "Just a few minutes ago. I was with, uh, Aleph, Jakarta, Pamolia, and Technicolour, but Techni's missing, so I'm trying to find him right now." Pupa explained, scratching the back of his head as he glanced to a different view (a literal wall).

"Wait, who's Jakarta?" Fate asked, and Hikaru could only laugh a little at that. "Ahaha, he meant Arta." He told her, and she just made an "oooohhh" sound. "Can you guys at least help me find Technicolour?" Pupa asked. Hikaru was about to answer, but then immediately got interrupted. "Wait- no. I mean, it's not like I can't find him on my own, but maybe a little bit of help wouldn't hurt." Pupa added, glancing back to the two Gods.

"Haha! So you're scared of being alone in a situation like this~?" Fate teased, a smug look on her face as she watched the butterfly man's face turn bright red. "W-what?! NO! I-I'M NOT SCARED! I JUST- Ugh....!" His response made the Goddess of Fate laugh even more, and Hikaru could only facepalm at this sight.

"I never knew they had a fish tank here...Ah...such cute fishes...!" Technicolour muttered, his hands pressed onto a fish tank as he happily looked at the fishes in it swim around. The fishes are all sorts of colours, which made Technicolour even more happier at the sight.

"Hmm....wait. I've been here for too long! Oh no." He then said, before getting up, looking around his surroundings. However, upon further inspection.....he's the only one here. "Ah! Oh no! I got separated from the others!" He cried out, looking around a little more to make sure his suspicions were true.

"Mmh.....and it's dark here too...." He muttered sadly, before sighing. "Ugh, shut up, Techni. You're old now. Get your shit together—Ah! Wait! No! I wasn't supposed to say that word...!" Technicolour whined even more, feeling so much embarrassment as he continued complaining about his current situation.

"Aye! Techni! Never expected you to be here! You weren't one of the people I invited to that demon summoning ritual." Trojan's voice could be heard as he stops infront of the man with blue hair. "Oh, wait...Mr. Trojan. You're Mr. Trojan, right? I don't wanna mistake you for someone else..." Technicolour asked.

"Yep, yep~ That's me, alright! Ah! Wait. I wanna test out something. It's an ability I haven't used in awhile. Gimme a sec." Trojan then closed his eyes, though Technicolour couldn't see that because of how fucking dark it is right now.

Suddenly, a pair of light blue eyes appeared infront of him, startling him completely.

"Hey, Colour!"

"AGHH WHAT THE HELL?!"

"Oh- Shhh!!!! Don't make too much of a fuss about it, please!!!! Just don't freak out."

It turns out those eyes belong to Trojan. Seems like he can make his eyes glow somehow. But how is that even possible??? "I-I...Nevermind that. I'm just glad someone else is with me......and I'n glad that I can see you clearly in some way." Technicolour said, muttering the last sentence nervously.

"Yeah, uh...anyways! I'm trying to find Temporal Shifting! Wanna come?" Trojan offered, extending his hand out to the other man as if he's telling him to take ibuprofen with him. "Temporal...Shifting? Who's that?" Technicolour immediately asked, ignoring the "let's take ibuprofen together" pose Trojan is striking right now.

"Oh! Uh, whoops. Forgot to tell ya who that is. Ehehe~ I meant Tempo and Shifta." Trojan replied sheepishly, his arm lowering for a split second before going back up, making that stupid offering pose again. "Sooooo? Wanna come or not?" He then asked, both of his eyebrows raised as the most stupidest smile he could ever make made it's way onto his lips.

Technicolour was rather silent at first, but then he managed to make up his mind. "Alright. I'll come with you." He said. He didn't take Trojan's hand, though. He has way more common sense than Arghena would ever have. Noticing this, Trojan completely lowers his hand. But the smile he has on his face is still there, as if it was plastered onto his face with glue. "Sweet! Let's go then."

I'm glad you're enjoying Reset! It's a big chunky boi and still needs a good edit and clean up, but my son is trying his best. As for your questions:

England hasn't Reset for a few centuries, so didn't get the chance to fully live his punk life. He probably had a phase as a teenager in his most recent mortal adventure but it would have only been an imitation of the true, real movement. Probably dyed his hair all sorts of stupid colours and most likely joined a band and a protest march or six in uni but that's as far as it went

As for a pirate, I think he missed out entirely on that one. The Age of Sail was one of England's maritime highlights, as was Elizabethan age- England was a privateer but England was, not a pale human version of him.

England the nation was also in all sorts of political chaos around this time (the ages piracy was A Thing) but life for the everyday man didn't change much. The day to day continued mostly unchanged from Elizabeth until the English Civil War (generally, anyway. No massive royal dynasty changes or religious shifts). Their nation was more use to them as himself, dipping his toes and then his entire body into life at sea and expanding his borders, so although he died a hell of a lot during this time England the person didn't Reset at all

As for the Reset thing that England has going on with his case: yes, it's just France. Something that developed naturally when they were very very young and persists between them, despite whatever war or personal mess they have going on at the time.

England's brothers know most of what goes on (before the story of Reset takes place, at least) but they don't get involved. They all missed England's first Reset and so missed the chance to get involved- England as a person is too guarded and stubborn to ask for their help or seek them out for what he perceives as his most vulnerable, and Resets themselves are personal, potentially dangerous things

To be human is to be weak and malleable, and this isn't information any of them would usually share

more romances include the spanish love deception by elena armas (18+) (her second book is out in august which i am very excited about), the kiss quotient by helen hoang (18+) which was the first book i've read with an autistic main character, & it's not come out yet but i have High hopes for book lovers by emily henry (i think will also be 18+) since beach read slapped but you and me on vacation is being respectfully ignored by me after i read it the first time

let's start with some 5 star reads recently:

the seven husbands of evelyn hugo by taylor jenkins reid: a predictable choice thanks to tiktok but this is one of the few that is genuinely beyond worth reading. i went into it assuming i had the plot spoiled after some videos i'd seen but turns out it was only scratching the surface, it's so complex and well done so i will now be recommending it until the day i die.

open water by caleb azumah nelson: a debut novel which has some of the most beautiful writing i've ever seen, the author writes love in such an interesting way but also brings light to the way that people of colour are treated in the UK — as much like countries like the USA, it's still a massive problem even though people don't act like it. for a more informative read into that from the perspective of living in the UK i also read why i'm no longer talking to white people about race by reni eddo-lorge!

some good translated works:

kim jiyoung, born 1982 by cho nam-joo: it left me angry but a lot more well informed on the societal standards held to women living in south korea, it's fiction but you leave it like... knowing it's happened to so many of them at the same time?

convenience store woman by sayaka murata: this is a little different but still comes to my mind after reading it earlier this year, it's about a woman who's worked in the same convenience store for i think like 18 years? and she navigates her adult life knowing she's not doing what everyone else is while making some... questionable choices hhhh

then if you want some shorter form:

poetry: watering the soul by courtney peppernell (also her pillow talks series), life of the party by olivia gatwood (relating to crime against women, check tws!), night sky with exit wounds by ocean vuong

i also recently reread heartstopper by alice oseman after initially reading it in i think 2019? it's all free on tapas/webtoon but the physical copies are lovely as well, plus the show just recently came out!

(part 2) So I do exactly that. But whilst I'm walking along my merry way this white car starts slowing down while it's driving next to me. And I've seen documentaries and kidnapping stories I know where this is going. BUT, I have also been practically begging for someone to have a go at me so I can tear them limb from limb and use their grated organs as seasoning on my meals for months now. I've been training for this moment since I was born I don't care WHAT'S considered legal in self defence nowadays it's 10am on a Tuesday morning and I'm gonna commit violent murder. So the car is pulling up to me, I try to look in the windows but ofc the windows are tinted nasty creeps, and then it honks at me. I am going to kill them slowly. It drives away after that but you're fucked if you think I'm leaving it there so I pick up the nearest rock and throw it as hard as I can but it misses because I suck ass at sport. Enraged at having my good mood thrown and missing my shot I try chasing it on foot. Doesn't work, again, I'm shit at any form of physical exercise and it's a car idk what I was thinking if I was an animal I'd probably be dead before I'm 3 months old. So I do the only option left, stick both my middle fingers up high enough for them to still see and yell "FUCK YOU PIG" as loud as I can. So anyways I'm feeling a bit better now and I make it to my grandparents house not too long afterwards. I knock on the door. I knock again. I knock repetitively and nothing happens. Fuck. I'm left with no other option than to go next door and ask for assistance but I'm too hot for that so I take the next step and break into their house. Which TECHNICALLY wasn't really breaking in because they did leave 1 lock unlocked so it's not rrreeeeaaallllyyyyyyyyyyy a crime okay are we good? Good. So once I am successful in breaking into their house I go inside only to find my grandma and grandpa there already. This was certainly not a plot twist I was expecting. They explain to me my grandma got a ride from a nice young man in a white car who drove her here and the problem is fixed. Yippee! Except not yippee because "wait what colour did you say the car was? Oh ... That's.... Probably a coincidence then there's lots of white cars where we live. Oh and you got him to honk at me while I was walking to try let me know you're here? Ooohhhhh that's... yeah that's so nice of you grandma thank you let's never speak of this again." FUCK. I am met with the horrible reality of what I have just done. This poor man helps an old lady get to her house and I do this to him?? In my defence tho if you're using a car unfamiliar to somebody (particularly someone who looks like a teenage girl) and you honk at them in said car you're pretty much setting yourself up for disaster here buddy. So we get the keys and the car back and I beg the gods for forgiveness from the sinful act I have commited (but not really cuz c'mon slowing down next to a stranger to honk at them you are literally asking to get your tires slashed I'm sorry) and that's the story of how my grandma hitchhiked a ride, I nearly killed someone and broke into someone else's house except not really okay haha if Ur a cop reading this it's legal where I live promise

This year, after spending 2023 barely getting the tablet out of my backpacks, I decided to draw a year-long tribute to myself in the form of 12 drawings remaking 12 drawings I did in the past, each per month.

More information about that will be under the cut! I tend to ramble, so... yeah. TL;DR I remade an illust done for an old-ass fanfic of mine and now it's modern and following one of my fic verses again haha. For those who know my work/AO3 account, it's Glass Cannon Blues.

I missed drawing those three, it had been literal years since I last did!

January gets 2012, my first year actually knowing what the hell I was doing in a digital art program (back then, an outdated pirated copy of SAI). For it, I chose one pictured I've always meant to go back to, but only now gave myself time to actually redraw. This is "Parallel Lyra no Matryoshka!":

As you can tell, yeah, this is Hachi's Matryoshka lol, which is still a banger with a peak aesthetic to this day. I made this drawing based on my first actual fanfiction, Parallel Lyra, thus why it's Ethan, Lyra and Kris on this pic, as they were the protags of that fic.

This version is slightly different since I slightly modernized the concept? Ethan, Lyra and Kris are now their GCB counterparts, which is why their clothes have different colours. What's funny is that ParaLyra!Ethan and Lyra already had Meganium and Typholosion respectively (that was waaaaay before Masters was even conceptualized lol), but for some reason Ethan had red and Lyra green as signatures colours? Okay. Anyway, now they've got the colour maching their starters' types.

i think i was also confused when i first started dgm but it makes more sense as you keep going! i think when i first got into it i started with the anime (which is longgggg) and then read the manga. i would recommend it if you'd like to give it another chance!
