Pierre-Albert Bégaud est un peintre portraitiste et paysagiste français de l'Ecole de Bordeaux. Il peignit des paysages de la Côte d’Argent (Pays basque et en particulier Bidarray), des portraits, des natures mortes et des nus. Son œuvre décorative reste encore aujourd'hui très importante. En 1937,  pour la Bourse du travail de Bordeaux, il réalisa les panneaux La forêt landaise et Le pin landais. Il décora  aussi la salle du conseil de la mairie d'Orthez ainsi que des maisons particulières dans un style néo-Louis XVI très apprécié par ses commanditaires de la bourgeoisie locale. Optant pour un style plutôt néo-classique dans ses nus et ses portraits, il oscille entre le classicisme, et les influences conjuguées de Gauguin, Puvis de Chavannes et de l'art déco ! Très attaché à a composition et au dessin rigoureux, il se tailla la réputation d'être un excellent portraits mais il fait partie de la génération d'artistes oubliés de l'entre-deux-guerres comme Marius de Buzon par exemple. Peintre-décorateur de théâtre, il réalisa le rideau de scène de Pelleas et Mélissande  de Debussy ainsi que quelques décors de L'Or du Rhin de Wagner. pour l'opéra de Bordeaux.
