Danny and Vlad didn't get along so badly anymore, seriously, well, at least they're not supposed to, that doesn't stop him from persecuting Danny from time to time with proposals about being his mentor and he would claim child support in return.
For Danielle more than anything, he loved his "cousin" but he couldn't keep up with her travel purchases, nor provide her with basic necessities and Vlad was a millionaire, he should be able to do that at least.
They were arguing, as was normal, they just didn't realize they had an audience, and that their discussions could be misinterpreted, very badly, even more so because they were in human form.
Jason was considering taking one of the guns off of him while an adult he was sure he had seen at one of Bruce's galas yelled at his neighbor to go with him, his neighbor who looked very tired and on despair, but was a good guy and offered him Cocoa from time to time, the neighbor who never asked questions about his nocturnal habits but still offered help.
His neighbor, Danny, who was his friend outside the bats eye, with whom he laughed, had deep conversations and made bad jokes about death, who had started reading Pride and Prejudice for him despite hating literature for a bad experience. The one who had cried over him for not being born in the right body while he asked him to take off his folder and breathe, the one who had stroked his back during his fever.
He was deciding what to do when Danny yelled "Well maybe I'd consider going with you if you hadn't thrown Danielle away as a mistake 6 years ago and wouldn't even deign to pay for anything to do with her, YOU'RE A MILLIONAIRE VLAD, I CAN'T EVEN PAY THIS APARTMENT, JUST GIVE UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE"
¿Six years ago? Jason did the math in his mind, Danny was still a teenager back then, no more than 14 years old, ¿was this a bribery situation? ¿Threat? "Danielle" sounded like an out-of-wedlock daughter too. Had this "Vlad" caused a pregnancy on a 14-year-old? probably abandoned him too, this was a realistic situation but it really grossed him out. ¿Wasn't "Vlad" the name of his Godfather too? Damn it, this was making him sick.
Then Jason decided that yes, Vlad definitely deserved a bullet in the face, and maybe he should talk to his neighbor about ask for help when threatened, this was Crime Alley after all and he didn't want to see him death.
Being a teenage father was probably not easy, even more so if he was the illegitimate child of a millionaire, ¿is that why he moved to Gotham? ¿Was he running from the bastard? but he hadn't seen any children ¿did he have to hand her over? He needed to talk with him after punch Vlad face for sure.

Danny, the 'twig' Bouncer
The job was just a temporary solution. It was a means to an end. To help him handle his obsession until things were better. Until it was safe to be out again. Until he could roam around freely without fear. Until he no longer needed to lay low or be on the run. Until he could return to being Phantom.
This job helped keep his obsession somewhat sedated. Sure, it was a shady bar, but it beat working out in the open in some other way or becoming a non-ghost vigilante and risking his human persona too.
Besides people tented to underestimate him because he was a 'twig' in their eyes. The bar owner nearly didn't hire him until he easily flipped a human truck over his shoulder and threw the guy out the back door on his interview day.
But again this was just meant to be temporary. He got to fight the trouble makers and protect customers from the rowdy crowd.
At some point, the people even started cheering whenever Danny was on the clock, his coworkers even leaving the heavy hitters to him. It was kind of fun always seeing the sound looks of the big guys that didn't think Danny could throw them out the door with one hand. The owner had said something about getting more customers ever since Danny started working for him.
Danny even recognized regulars now. Tho there was this one guy with a red helmet that gave him a weird feeling. But the guy wasn't making trouble so Danny left him alone.
Besides the Bar Owner always pet his shoulder after he threw someone out. That meant he did a good job right?
Though Danny did wonder how long this temporary job would last.
.
.
.
Yea his Fenton luck struck again. Danny didn't know faces. The bar was a shady place but neutral zone according to the owner but there was the golden rule of not messing with Joker. Danny had agreed even tho he didn't know who that guy was.
Soo the day came a clown made trouble in the bar and no one else appeared to want to do something. So what did Danny do? His job. He punched the guy, knocked him out and threw him right out the door a little too hard into a brick wall. He might have broken a couple of that clown guys bones. Hello trauma, Freakshow greets you.
The bar was dead silent right after, everyone staring at him like he had just signed a death sentence. The owner had then pushed him out the door and muttered something about sending Danny on vacation and to return in a month if he was still alive by then.
Did that mean he was fired or got a weird kind of promotion?
Why was that guy in a furry suit staring him down now?
Also why was the red helmet regular suddenly trying to hire him for his gang?
Really Danny just wanted a simple job that sedated his obsession, this was not what he expected to happen for a job well done.

Danny, tired of being the absolute last priority in his friends and families lives, runs away after a major fight with one of them which causes him to realize all his living relationships are toxic.
Danny lands in a new world and decides to get a new parent or parents. How? Not through the foster system of course but through admittedly more sinister means. He picked someone he liked and altered the memories of them and thier loved ones to convince them that this kid was always thier son and created false legal paperwork and school records along with implanting memories into his new classmates. He even went so far let the person give him a new name so it would be more believable and it would be one less connection to his past.
The only problem is one (1) Jason Todd, who is appearently immune to his mind tricks. Jason only managed to get Tim to see the truth by pointing out Danny isnt mentioned anywhere in the batcomputer and things start falling apart from there.
Danny just wants someone to love him :(

It's a date :)
[DP x DC fic]
[Love at first... murder? - part 9]
<< Prev | Next >>
Part 1
Ao3
---
Private chat nicknames:
RedHood = Jason
Danny = Danny
---
The next day, Jason wakes up with a yawn. He stretches, letting out a relieved exhale. That was one of the best nights of sleep he’s had in a long time.
Usually, the Pit’s bothering him, combined with hours of patrolling and fighting crime, usually getting injured as well, he usually wakes up sore and almost just as exhausted as he goes to sleep.
But now…
It was calm. He felt calm.
He didn’t quite dream, though that was fine, as he hadn’t had any nightmares either.
It was… refreshing.
Though, all of it is also kind of… unnerving…
All these good things happening?
The Joker finally dying, meeting a cute guy who doesn’t seem intimidated by him as Red Hood and taking him out on a date, the Pit barely bothering him, sleeping better than he had in years…
With all of that happening, Jason can’t help but wonder…
When is the other shoe gonna drop?
His good mood slightly dampened with disconcertion, Jason gets out of bed with a small grunt. He doesn’t bother to get changed yet, instead moving along to the kitchen to start on breakfast.
After taking in the groceries he has left, Jason starts making some simple bacon and eggs. He catches himself humming while cooking and abruptly stops, continuing his cooking with a small frown on his face.
Why is he feeling this… this… good?
Just what is happening with the Pit?
He’s not enchanted or drugged or anything, is he?
It’s all the unknowns that are making Jason slightly worried.
Are his emotions still his own?
He feels like most of his worries have been stripped from his body. He feels way more comfortable in his skin. He feels happy, content, tranquil…
He just feels so much.
But still no rage.
He eats his breakfast while he ponders over his newfound emotional state. It’s as he eats that his eyes land on his phone.
The Bats have probably blown up his phone with calls and messages in the meantime.
And the fact that he doesn’t feel as irritated or mad as he should about it is another point of slight concern.
Either way. Ugh, Jason still doesn’t really want to deal with it.
However…
After he has put his plate away, he picks up his phone anyway and turns it back on. Sure enough, he has too many missed calls and unread messages. And it seems that with his ‘online’ status, some are encouraged again and start sending him more texts.
Jason ignores it all in favor of doing what he had planned to do when turning his phone back on anyway, messaging Danny.
Just so that he has Jason’s number as well
And perhaps to plan another date meetup, he thinks with an involuntary soft smile on his face.

RedHood: Hey, it's Red Hood. Just checking in and making sure you also have my number.
RedHood: In case of emergency, of course.
Danny: hi!! 👋😊
Danny: it’s Danny!! 😁
Danny: which you already knew..
Danny: obviously 😅 😅
RedHood: I do now.
RedHood: Who knows, you could’ve given me the wrong number.
RedHood: It’s good to have the confirmation that it’s you :)
Danny: ahh yes!
Danny: good point 👉
RedHood: So, I was wondering if you had the time to meet again sometime this week?
RedHood: I can show you around the city, y’know? Like I mentioned yesterday? :)
Danny: !!!
Danny: yes!! 😁
Danny: that sounds like fun! ☺️ 🙃
Danny: and very useful 🤔
Danny: it’s good to know where not to go 😌
Danny: so I don’t kill another clown 🤡
Danny: haha
Danny: not that I’m like planning on killing another clown! 😰
Danny: no sir, there is no murder on this agenda!! 🙅 🙅
Danny: clowns or otherwise
RedHood: Haha, I didn’t think so.
RedHood: It was pretty clear to me it was self-defense anyway, don’t worry :)
RedHood: Even if it wasn’t, it was the Joker. So who, other than the Bat, cares?
RedHood: And it’s not like I can judge.
Danny: ah, good good
Danny: didn’t want my first impression to be being a murderer 😅 😅
Danny: that’d be bad 😓
RedHood: You don’t need to worry.
RedHood: You made a pretty good first impression in my opinion :)
RedHood: So, when are you free? For the meetup?
RedHood: I can come pick you up at your apartment again, if you want?
Danny: oh yeah that’d be nice!! 😊
Danny: and uhh, lemme check my school schedule real quick brb
Danny: alright, so I have classes till like 12.30 today
Danny: but I’m free from then on 🙃
Danny: minus like, time I need to eat lunch and stuff 😅 😅
Danny: does that work for you?
Danny: I mean else I could probably do like thursday or something 🤔
Danny: if that works better??
RedHood: Today works just fine. And we can pick up some lunch on the way if need be. My treat :)
RedHood: I’ll come pick you up around 1 pm then?
Danny: it’s a date!! 😁
Danny: I mean sure, totally! it’s not a date!! 🙅 🙅
Danny: unless you want it to be a date?.. 👀
Danny: I mean did you mean for it to be a date?
Danny: is it a date? 🤔 🤔
Danny: I mean I don’t wanna assume 😅
Danny: and like
Danny: I wouldn’t mind if it was a date.. 👀
Danny: or if it wasn’t a date!!
Danny: wouldn’t mind that either, of course 😅
Danny: I just wasn’t quite sure where we stood 😓 🥺
Danny: and what the context of the meetup was
Danny: ..?
Danny: Red Hood??
RedHood: It’s a date.
RedHood: ;)
---
Jason goes offline and turns his phone back off, still pointedly ignoring all the unread messages and missed calls from the Bats. He slides it onto and across the table in front of him and proceeds to put his arms down in front of him, resting his face on them.
Soft smile still on his face and cheeks colored faintly pink, Jason closes his eyes.
It’s a date…

Things for dead on main college aus i have yet to see
Y'all are missing the potential for college library shenanigans omg
Jason doesnt even go to GU he just likes their libraries
Its nearing midnight and the STEM kid (Danny) a couple tables down from Jason is going all mad scientist with the whiteboard. Its very entertaining
You know how Jason has a dating app in WFA? He's meeting his date at a GU library starbucks and he falls for barista!Danny while on his date 😂
Danny goes to the library for his between class nap every day at 3:00 and that in itself is very amusing to Jason
Ideas moving away from the library
You know the "unassigned-assigned seat" rule? They share like 2 gen eds and they've ended up next to each other in the back of the auditorium
They're both a few years older than all the freshmen so they naturally gravitate to each other at all the freshmen bonding stuff they're forced to attend that first week
As a freshman you are required to live on campus. Jason has a room but he's never there for obvious reasons. Jason stays the night there like once a week and its cuz he has a 8am the next day. Danny's sleep schedule is weirder than his and Danny is always hanging out in the common room when Jason gets to the dorm at 3am for his one night a week
Danny went to school on time and only Jason started late. Danny is Jason's freshman RA
Jason and Danny get assigned roommates between semesters (halfway through the year) for whatever reason (one of them just started, their roommates decided they wanted to room together, etc). Jason become progressively more lax about the whole Red Hood thing because Danny is a whole new level of weird. He makes Jason look normal. Nothing bothers this guy. Jason got home at 4am covered in blood and all Danny said was "cool beans" before he fell back to sleep. Tim is mystified by him, constantly getting frustrated over if Danny is just that oblivious or he legitimately just does not give a fuck.
They meet in a club. Idk movie club.
They're in the same group chat and when Danny says he's been arrested Jason is the only one to come bail him out. They become besties on the walk home

DPxDC Prompt where Jazz has known grief for a while now. The soulmark on her left arm has been faded and blackened for over a year. She’s had time to mourn, but nothing can scrub the reminder from Jazz’s arm or erase the choking memory of air escaping her lungs when it faded.
She never even got to meet them.
When Danny dies in the portal, Jazz thinks she might just be destined to a life of loss. Danny is still here, he’s still alive in some way, but Jazz can’t help but wonder what Danny’s own soulmate has gone through. Her brother’s soulmark is still there too, but it’s sickly green and scarred over by the fern-like patterns of his deathscar. She can only imagine a mark to match her own on his soulmate.
Danny hopes his soulmate will move on. Jazz tries not to think about it and she does her best not to press the issue, letting him grieve in his own way.
Fate is a strange thing, however, and their world is turned on its head when Jazz’s soulmark begins to blaze the same, sickly green as Danny’s.
Jazz becomes obsessed with finding out how, while Danny dares to wonder if he gave up too soon.
-
Tim hasn’t had a good night’s rest since his soulmark bled green. He’s done research, exhausted every outlet he has, but he can find no history of a mark like his.
He can only assume his soulmate is dead. Survival does not coexist with the excruciating pain he felt coursing through his veins, so much so that he thought he would die alongside them. The mark taunts him more than anything.
Though when Jason Todd resurfaces, clawing his way back into Gotham in the same way he clawed himself from the grave, Tim’s eyes are drawn to the sickly green mark on his forearm.
[I kind of went buckwild with this idea and wrote several different branching ideas attached to it, so they go under the readmore.]
Mental image of Jason just being in one hell of a funk, and Tim awkwardly approaching him like "Look, I know we have our issues but there was a day I felt like my entire body was on fire and being torn to pieces. My mark's been this sickly green since... I'm pretty sure they're gone. Like I don't know how they wouldn't be, even though it's still there-- in a way. So like, I get it."
-
I imagine something going wrong in Amity-- bad reveal-- and Jazz and Danny have to upend their lives over it. Jazz was trying to find out what her returned soulmark might mean within the ghost zone, following whatever information she could-- but now they have to leave everything behind and it feels like grieving again.
Danny's still trying not to get his hopes up that his partner's mark would have returned just cause Jazz's has. But he's frustrated, and now feels guilty that his slipup led to them having to leave their home.
Jazz keeps telling Danny it's not his fault, that they mightve never found anything out anyway, but it still eats at him.
They move to Gotham cause it's got enough ambient ectoplasm to help Danny.
But then Danny notices something ghostly about Red Hood and starts getting close to him. He doesnt bring up ghost's right away, but tries to slowly broach the topic. Eventually Red Hood shows Danny his odd soulmark and Danny just about passes out from the adrenaline rush of seeing Jazz's mark in that familiar sickly green.
Danny doesn't know how to approach the situation without compromising either of their identities.
He even shows Jason his own mark. Jason can't quite make it out with the deathscar through it. It kinda looks like the crow Tim has, but it could also be any kind of bird and Tim usually hides his. Birds are common-- he should know.
Seeing as Phantom's called himself a ghost, and it might not even be the same mark, Jason doesn't think it's a good idea to tell Tim and give him some false hope. (Though the coincidence of another strange green mark has his mind lingering on it). Phantom's said it himself that he's been dead for awhile and he's sure his soulmate has moved on.
-
But Danny can't stop looking for a man with Red Hood's build and Jazz's mark.
And the more Jason hangs around Phantom and gets hints that they're very alike (and that Phantom is more alive than he lets on), he starts trying to figure out how he can get another glance at Tim's (usually-covered) soulmark to see if they're as similar as he thinks. (For shenanigans too, maybe Jason doesn't even know that Tim's mark is green now; maybe he's only ever seen a photo of it from before he started covering it).
-
Bonus points if Jazz somehow becomes friends with Tim Jazz being like "Oh hey my friend Tim invited us over for dinner, wanna come?"
For one hell of a chaotic, maximum fuckery reveal:
Everyone's in long sleeves/jackets for one reason or another (temperature or comfort) at dinner Danny feels Jason's ghostly bullshit right away though and will not stop Staring at him. Jason can't feel it back since his senses aren't as strong and Danny's much more muted while he's human. Danny's trying to subtly spill shit on Jason or in some other way try to see his mark. It backfires on Danny and his mark gets shown instead Cue Tim freaking out and Danny, in his infinite wisdom, blurting out about Jason's mark
Then when they all realize they just accidentally all had their identities outed, AND now have to discuss the reality of two of them being halfdead/having died
- Alternative identity shenanigans:
Tim and Jazz being friends and he sees sees her  mark and just gets thrown through the emotional ringer. But he doesn't think he can come out and tell Jazz about Jason because her finding out he died and somehow came back could have some serious ramifications and risk their identities.
But he also thinks Jason deserves some happiness and Jazz is a great person who Jason would get along with easily.
And Tim just can't stop thinking of his own mark now, for the first time in a long time. It just consumes his thoughts, and he eventually decides to introduce Jason to Jazz.
But Danny tags along and he and Jason immediately recognize each other's ghostly bullshit and Tim's plan of slowly introducing the two gets immediately sidelined
OR
Tim shows Jazz his own mark, trying to gauge what her reaction will be if he lets her know they have the same situation going on with their marks-- only for Jazz to just like almost wrench his arm out of his socket to get a better look at it because she'd never forget Danny's mark, nevermind the color.
- Another scenario (cause I wasn't lying when I said I went Buckwild):
Danny tries to lay low in Gotham, but his obsession eventually has him sticking his neck out.
The bats are suspicious of Phantom and want answers. Jason is out of the loop a bit and independently starts befriending Phantom after Danny catches whiff of his ectoplasm
The bats eventually catch Danny with some acquired Fenton tech. The tech is more harmful than the bats expected and in his mad scramble to escape Danny's sleeve gets torn and Tim gets a glimpse of a familiar mark in that mess of green lichtenbergs. It's a sight that haunts him, marred by ectoplasm dripping from Phantom's wide-eyed face and down his shoulder.
Tim keeps trying to find Phantom to talk to him and apologize but he's gone off radar.
Jason's heard about what happened but keeps quiet about what he knows when Phantom still comes to him to talk. He can tell Phantom is more hesitant to be around him, but is glad he's still willing to meet him.
But Jason does want to actually see the soulmark for himself. So he starts talking about his own and they show each other theirs
And while Danny likes being friends with Red Hood, he is aware he has connections to the bats and that getting too close to him could put him in danger. But he sees Jazz's mark on him and feels physically ill because how can he deny telling Jazz about it just because he's afraid?
And Jason could tell Phantom about Tim's mark, but how can he tell him after what happened between the bats and Phantom, and when it would compromise their identities?
Jazz, throughout all of this, has been stressed out worrying about how to keep her little brother safe and make sure the bats never hurt him again, while she keeps unknowingly befriending the bats, starting with her coworker Babs.
Nevermind Tim just thinking his soulmate is a full on ghost in this situation.

Halloween prompts no. 21
Phantom had died very young, a fact that both friend and foe mourned. It was unusual for an undead child as young as him to end up here, though his method of arrival as a toddler was likely to blame. His parents shouldn't have allowed thier children into the lab, even with custom fitted hasmat suits. They certainly shouldn't have taken thier eyes off of thier three year old to show his scared older sister the new inventions that would keep her safe.
He doesnt remember what he was thinking. He had saw the buttons inside the portal and decided to play with them. And then...there was a loud boom and pain everywhere. The zone wasn't all that bad at first. Sure, there were a lot of people fighting over him which since children were rare in the zone and unclaimed ones were much more so. This lead to him being very good at hiding and escaping.
Quickly he grew very powerful, so much so that he was taking out the likes of Undergrowth and Vortex by the time he was seven, but while the power made him feel safe and secure, it also isolated him as people were afraid of him. He was a halfa. An unknown. "The glitch" they called him, "an abomination" "deaths mistake" "unwanted by life and death alike" so many cruel things, yet he tried to not let it bother him too much. He often failed.
He was six, the first time he killed. A ghost named Skunker or something captured him for his "pelt" and Phantom escaped, setting all of Skunkers other prisoners free. Unfortunately Phantom was recaptured and the robot ghost set about trying to de-pelt him. It hurt and Danny screamed, causing his wail to manifest and destroyed skunkers mech suit and forcing the little gooball in the pilot seat to eject himself.
After that Skunker never stood a chance against Phantoms fury.
Phantom continued killing anyone that harmed him, such as that weird vampire wannabe and that dragon king guy. After many years of violence and destruction he began to dispise his afterlife and yearn for that faint memory of the sun.
At the age of fifteen he came up with a plan. One of his enemies had stolen some of an Ancients medalians, which gave the barer immunity from time manipulation and distortion. Phantom had shoved the medalian into his own chest after the other entity had dropped it so that he couldn't retrieve it. After the victory he kept it inside him for the added protection and so Clockwork couldn't see his future and meddle in his affairs anymore. He used this to his advantage.
He had located a portal door to the living realms. One where there were many people called "metas" that looked odd and had strange powers. He planned to use this as a cover when he moved in.
All he needed was to fake his End in one of the larger battles that would no doubt come.
----
Phantom stepped out into a small bricked place between two buildings. He lamented that the air wasn't nearly as "fresh" or "clean" as he would have liked, especially for his first taste of freedom, but the sun was shining so bright. He stood there for a solid few minutes just staring up at it through squinted eyes. A man in a red helmet that covered his entire head-face included-watched him warily but did nothing to stop him. Eventually he walked off to find a place to set up his new lair. This was so exciting! He was moving all around this crowded human place. Sure, the people were giving him strange looks, but he had been here for a whole two hours and not a single person had attacked him! He picked good!
He stopped in front of this building with many floors and went to investigate. The main entrance was blocked off with a bright yellow tape that had lettering on it. That didn't matter to him. He never learned how to read.
It was a small task to flood the building with his ice and energy. There were no humans to fight for this territory so all was well. Plus the collar around his neck changed his ecto signature so it didn't matter how much energy he used, no one would ever know he was the one here.
Phantom placed the purple door that lead him to this world against one of the walls and began removing the knobs. The interesting thing about the doors was that the worlds they lead to never had any natural portals to slip through, and by removing the knobs from them they can't be opened. So long as Phantom had the door and knobs no one from the Infinite Realms could get to him without making thier own portals and no portal maker would be able to portal to him with his ecto signature changed. It was brilliant!
Danny got to work on his lair, coating everything in ice and creating entire rooms and floors that were just solid ice but for the tight dark tunnels running through them leading to different places in the building. It was basically a maze.
Nodding to himself he went outside and created a balcony out of the ice. The thing was large and looked to be defying gravity, but still Phantom wasn't pleased with it. He wished for a large home, many children and a loving spouse. One of the things this fellow ghosts had talked about was "a large yard and picket fence." The balcony was large but he wasn't sure what classified as a "yard" not to mention he didn't know what a picket fence was. Hopefully it wasn't like the fences Walker had on his prisons, while it would be effective for corraling his potential children, it would look...distasteful...
Phantom tore himself away from those thoughts. Creating a flashy lair was the first step in telling others he was looking to settle down. Surely the large tower of shimmering ice would capture someone's attention.
His first guest entered through an open window on the third floor and Phantom flew down to meet them. They were friendly, if a bit wary of him. Understandable, no world is without danger after all. This man was strong, talented and funny. He wasn't bad looking either. The only real problem he had was that Nightwing was so much older than him and kept calling him a "kid" Phantom was both powerful enough to be considered an adult even before he reached the adult threshold of 13, a fact that he shared with the blue bird. The man looked shocked and tried to convince him to talk to a doctor. He didn't understand. He was perfectly healthy!
Irritated, he flew through he cieling and abandoned the conversation.
The second guest was a green woman with firey hair who was lounging on the balcony. She was inspecting the plants whos roots dug into the ice and fed off of the energy he gave them. He told her this when asked and she was just as confused by him as the blue bird man, but began teaching him about plants and thier various wonders. Phantom listened because back in the Infinite Realms knowledge was power and power was hoarded and kept away from others. If she was willing to give him knowledge so freely he would not turn her away.
His third guest was a younger boy named Robin who tried to kill him with a mortal blade. He responded by phasing the blade into the floor and pinning him to the wall. After a chat in which Robin demanded to know why he was there, Phantom responded with the truth. He left the violence of his home world behind hoping to turn over a new leaf. He wished to start a family and live here happily. Thankfully the child excepted this. Phantom also told him about the flashyness of the ice was a indication he was looking for a spouse and that entering was an indication that one was interested and Robin was too young for marriage
The boy grumbled about Phantom also being too young which Phantom found odd. That was three separate people who all claimed he was too young. Sure, this ye old tradition wasn't in common use anymore and ghosts rarely coupled nowadays but...was he really too young? What was the age of adulthood here?
Not for the first time he envied the other ghosts for thier knowledge. The Undead carry memory from thier first lives, which Phantom is lacking due to his own having been cut so short. Neverborne come into being with knowledge of both worlds and the Deathborne are born from two entities of death creating a child together. These beings are taught about both worlds from thier parents. Another thing Phantom lacks.
----
Meanwhile, the batfam are freaking out at this "undead" pit child that Jason is terrified of. They all feel the need to parent him and try to get him away from all this marriage talk. Maybe let himself be a kid.
After a few weeks they manage to get him to go out to places with them, with Red Robin being the most successful. Appearently the kid found the red coloring of Tim's suit to be "beautiful" and "nothing like the muting reds and pinks from the Infinite Realms" and they planned on putting a pin in that info for later.
For now they needed to focus on rehabilitating this feral child who has lived like a wild animal most of his (after?)life.
Just: Danny never walking as Phantom so when he transforms into his human form he falls on his face cause he doesn't know how to walk.
Phantom doesn't like his human form because he has "constant pain in his stomach area" and they discovered that Phantom hadn't eaten anything at all in the twelve years he's been in the Infinite Realms
Alfred and Bruce teaching him to shower, brush his teeth, and other basic things that he never had to do before as a ghost. Dick and Tim are right behind him with a camera for all of it and are making a "baby book" of all his firsts. They even convince Jason to help teach him to read.
Danny eventually stops flirting with people and tells the family he's happy being a child instead of a father. Dick cries and hugs him.

Au where adult Danny somehow scores a friends with benefits situation with Red Hood, but without the friends part (idk what its called.)
After a few months with no contact he assumes thier relationship-whatever it was- is over. After the fourth month he starts acting strange. He's turning whole buildings in Amity intangible to get years of accumulated grime off of them, he's deep cleaned his entire underground house and lab twice, he's even flooded the cave like floors with ectoplasm all on some strange compulsion. He really couldn't control himself. His friends suggested he might be trying to instinctively seduce RH or something by making his "territory" nicer
Danny bought into this theory up until a fight with the Box Ghost. Well, less of a fight and more of Danny chasing him and threatening him with soup time. It was when Dannys speed started flagging and Danny complaining about his lack of stamina lately that BG paused and excitedly announced, "OH ancients, you're pregnant! That's so great!" In front of everyone. People below that were watching the fight gasped or started texting or whatever. He knew at least one person was filming this. They always recorded his fights.
Phantom just floated there stunned as the ghost prattled on about how he and the Lunch Lady have been trying for a while (ew?!?!) but ghosts were naturally infertile so it was hard. Danny stopped listening and was having a panic attack while in mid air. How did this happen?! He was a guy! How long ago-? The only person he slept with was Red Hood! Oh ancients! His child's other parent was a crime lord that delivered a bag with actual severed heads to someone. He and Hood don't even know each other! Not really. They never met outside RH texting him for a night of fun. Thats all it was! All he really knew about him was that he was an undead antihero who was nice to children and was a widely feared crime lord and was involved in the drug trade. Crap.
Phantom whipped out his burner phone that he used almost exclusively for RH and blasted it apart, startling Boxy out of his rambling. RH didn't know about Phantom or about Danny. He didn't give him his real name and even if he did it wouldn't have mattered because he's not from that dimension anyway. RH never had to find out about this.
Too bad Danny is the unluckiest person (half)alive.
