Hi I have this little idea that Remus does Uber driving (?) like picks up people, the basic thing (I guess), and then Sirius is pretty drunk and orders an Uber and Remus, who obvi is the driver, has no choice but to unfortunately let Sirius sleep in his house so he doesn't choke to death and then when Sirius wakes up he's like what the fuck and then he sees Remus and just goes 🥺 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘 thank you !
Remus did not know how he had ended up in this situation. Well actually, he did know but the position he now found himself in was so idiotic that he refused to believe that he had somehow chosen to be here.
Here was, in fact, standing in the elevator in his apartment building with a sleeping drunk who apparently went by the name of Sirius Black in his arms.
This really was not in his job description.
The elevator doors opened and Remus stepped out, careful that the mop of black hair didn’t hit against the wall. He walked quietly to his apartment door and praised himself for the foresight of taking his keys out before he had faced the task of lifting the sleeping body from the backseat of his car. Turning the key, he opened the door and switched on the light.
Remus’ nights doing Ubers were usually long, uneventful and boring, with only the quiet music that blared from the radio and the yellow streetlights to keep Remus company, even with people in the car. Most didn’t want to talk, not that Remus minded. He preferred The Beatles to any kind of conversation that could possibly come from his customers.
Tonight had been different.
Remus had picked Sirius Black up outside one of the more expensive clubs in town. He had entered the car, wasted and laughing, already the antithesis of his usual sombre customer. His friends had hauled him in, one of whom Remus knew from a uni class; Lily Evans. She had come to the window, apologised in advance for Sirius’ behaviour and thanked Remus in advance for his patience. Remus had smiled and wished her a safe trip home, and drove on.
This part of the story was important to Remus as it meant that he had not just lifted a complete stranger from the backseat of his car and hauled him into his apartment. Sirius was a friend of a friend, which, Remus coninved himself, made a lot of a difference.
Sirius had sat in the back, singing badly to Remus’ songs and winking when he caught Remus appreciating the high cheekbones or the grey eyes or the full lips. Remus would have blushed but Sirius was so drunk he probably didn’t even know his own name, nevermind remembering Remus.
“If I weren’t so bloody plastered,” Sirius had slurred, leaning forward in his seat, “I would probably be flirting with you.”
Remus had laughed, then shook his head. “Perhaps it’s a good thing you’re drunk then. It’s important to concentrate while driving.”
When Remus received no reply, he had glanced into the rearview mirror to see Sirius curled up against the door, eyes closed and mouth open wide.
Sirius Black had just fallen asleep in the backseat of his car.
Remus really didn’t know why he hadn’t even considered just waking Sirius up. He wouldn’t be in this mess if he had but, instead, he had pulled over and texted Lily, telling her that Sirius was fast asleep and he would let him crash in his place tonight. Remus’ apartment was only five minutes away after all, and he still had forty-five minutes to drive if he was to go all the way to Sirius’ destination.
He had driven back to his own apartment and now here he was, placing Sirius gently on his couch and realising that he would be faced with either a very confused, very angry, or very scared man the next morning. Nothing much he could do about that now, Remus supposed.
He placed a blanket over the sleeping form, brushing the curls off the peaceful face, before stepping back. Moonlight spilled into the silent living room, its light casting shadows over everything but the man now fast asleep on Remus’ sofa.
Remus swallowed, wondering again what the hell he had been thinking, before turning away and walking to bed.
If he had stayed a moment longer, he might have noticed the mischevious smile that flickered over Sirius Black’s lips.
~~~~~
Sirius did not know where he was, did not know how he had gotten there and did not know how his head could hurt that badly.
Drunk Sirius had landed himself on a couch in the apartment of a stranger, who seemed to be humming to himself in the kitchen, and now sober Sirius had to figure out how the fuck he had gotten there.
The only thing Sirius knew was that he hadn’t slept with his apparent kidnapper because his clothes were still very much on and he was lying on a sofa, not tangled in a bed (or on the floor, as he had found himself more times than he would care to admit).
Sirius pushed himself up and looked around, noticing the glass of water on the table beside him, accompanied by a paracetamol pill.
At least his kidnapper cared about his wellbeing, Sirius thought, downing the water and the pill before sighing as the taste of alcohol left his mouth.
“Oh. You’re awake.”
Sirius’ head spun around.
The stranger was standing in the doorway, wearing a pair of jeans and a brown cardigan, with two cups of steaming coffee held in his hands. His golden curls glowed in the morning sun and a dimple appeared on his cheek as he smiled awkwardly.
Why the fuck had drunk Sirius not slept with this guy?
“Uhhh, yeah. Yeah, I’m awake. Who are you?”
“Oh, yeah sorry. I’m Remus. I know you’re probably freaking out right now, but I can explain everything, so please, you know, don’t start screaming. Firstly, do you remember anything of last night?” The man asked, approaching slowly as if Sirius would run off at any slight movement.
Sirius racked his brain, remembering the start of the night with James and Lily, going to the club and drinking copious amounts of alcohol. From there, things were hazy but he did remember singing ‘Hey Jude’ in the back of a car, and the feeling of getting up to no good and his mischevious plans being successful.
“I remember going to the club, but not really anything else other than singing to the Beatles.”
Remus laughed a little, shaking his head and Sirius caught a glimpse of those glorious dimples again. “That would be the music in my car. You were very intent on singing along very badly.”
Sirius blushed. He really was disliking his drunk self right now. “Oh god, I’m so sorry.”
“It’s ok. It was quite hilarious.”
Sirius met Remus’ amused gaze. “Would you no longer delay the suffering and inform me of what other antics I got up to last night?”
Remus proceeded to tell Sirius the story of how he had ended up on his couch, the drive there, the falling asleep, him picking him up from the club, all the while, a slow realisation dawned on Sirius.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, Remus,” Sirius said, once Remus had finished speaking.
“It’s fine, honestly. Don’t worry. I’m just thankful you didn’t phone the police as soon as you woke up.”
“No, no. Not that. I’m apologising for the fact that my drunken self decided that it would be a good idea to pretend to fall asleep in the back of his good-looking Uber driver’s car in the hope that sober me would wake up in said Uber driver’s apartment.”
For a few moments, there was silence.
Sirius watched nervously as Remus simply stared at him, before a slow, bright grin began growing on the freckled face.
“You’re insane, you know that, Sirius?”
“Yes.”
Remus stepped forward and placed the mugs of coffee down. “And you really ought to not drink so much if that’s the type of thing you get up to, you know that too?”
“Yes.”
“And drunk you told me that you would be flirting with me if you were sober, is that true?”
Sirius swallowed. “Yes.”
Remus sat down on the couch. Sirius’ heart raced as Remus lifted a hand and brushed one of Sirius’ stray locks behind his ear.
“Then, would you like to go for breakfast with me this morning?” Remus murmured.
“Yes,” Sirius replied, his smile reflecting Remus’ own and his heart fluttering in his chest, as he thanked whatever gods there were that his drunken self had such good taste in men and such awful, horrendous ideas of how to get a date with these men.
Perhaps drunk Sirius wasn’t that bad after all.
Okay I’ve been in love with @lovelocksers theory about Mercuphobia being Juvia’s father for since she made it really and I HAD to make some head canon posts because Juvia is my baby and I like to imagine about what her past looked like so here goes!
At the time they were living in Elmina, before the whole under water thing would happen and Mercuphobia was living there with his fiancée who at the time was pregnant and the day Juvia was born was both the best day of Mercuphobia’s life but also the worst as during child birth Mercuphobias fiancée/Juvia’s mother passed away leaving behind her broken soulmate and cursed daughter.
Unlike some fathers (*cough* Jude *cough* ) Mercuphobia loved Juvia more than the sun itself, well he had to really due to Juvia’s curse, he blamed himself for her curse believing that since he was a dragon maybe the gods were angry with him for falling in love because why should someone like him deserve to feel love, he went to countless doctors and witches to help find a cure, he asked every single water mage that he could find and see if they knew anything about it but no luck, he had to come to terms with the idea that his daughter would have to live with the rain for the rest of her life, he just hoped she’d be happy.
Since Mercuphobia was a dragon and didn’t have the same understanding of things like humans would, they had to rely on his fiancé for money, but because she died Mercuphobia had to come up with other means to make money, for months he couldn’t find a job and the money problem had become so bad to the point that for a month, their neighbour had to take care of Juvia for a while since Mercuphobia didn’t have the money, that was until he happens upon the black market and well let’s just say people started to give him many errands to take care of.
No matter what the weather was like of what mood Mercuphobia was in, he always made sure that when he came back from his “errands” he’d make time for Juvia, because what sort of father would he be if he didn’t spend time with his one and only daughter (Jude), the two of them would play outside until the sun would set atleast when they thought they sun was setting since it was being blocked by Juvia’s rain.
Juvia said her first word when she was seven months old and of course it’s was “Dada” . Mercuphobia cried for three hours afterwards.
Mercuphobia never told Juvia that he was a dragon for obvious reasons when she was younger but he did plan to tell her once she was old enough to process it.
The father and daughter duo would often go out shopping together to buy new clothes and toys for Juvia, and to get groceries for the next week but once they were finished they’re shopping, the two of them would always go to the flower shop to get some lilies and then visit Juvia’s mothers grave.
When Juvia was younger Mercuphobia had many fears, the main ones being, she’d find out that he was a dragon before he could tell her and she’d become scared of him, she’d find out about what he does for a living and become scared of him, she’d ask about the rain and lastly that she’d get taken away from him, what he didn’t know however was that all of those fears would happen on the exact same day, her fifth birthday.
In all honestly it was a perefectly normal day, Mercuphobia and Juvia were in the back garden playing as the rain wasn’t as bad that day when Juvia asked the simple question of “why do I make it rain all the time” which Mercuphobia was going to try and answer when two men in suits came barging into the back yard demanding Mercuphobia to go with them but when he refused one of the men started shouting things like “DRAGON DRAGON” and “MURDERER MURDERER” so that not only Juvia would hear but also all of they’re neighbours. Mercuphobia started to panic and was about to attack the men when one of them picks Juvia up and bashes her in the head with one of their magic guns well that was it for Mercuphobia, he goes full rage mode on the two men who were ultimately killed but during this the village, flooded completely, killing everyone who lived there.
Mercuphobia believed that he had killed his daughter and had mourned for her for a very long time, he also blamed the two men for his daughters deatb resulting in him hating all humans that was until he met Caramillie who he had instantly fallen in love with due to how much she resembled his fiancée but also how different he made his life become, she had managed to persuade him to return to Elmina town were they discovered that the Gods has cursed with a spell to submerge the town in water and cause all of its citizens to become fish due to what Mercuphobia had done to them, with this new information Mercuphobia vowed to protect the Porttown as this was his last connection with his daughter that he had and he wanted to make sure that it was safe from harms way, even if that meant that he couldn’t search for his daughter who he was certain that she wasn’t dead vowing to make sure that he’d see her atleast one more time or find out what really happened to her.
Meanwhile Juvia was taken to an orphanage in another country by one of the men who the other two worked for just in case she remembers something and wants to tell someone about what she had heard and seen but fortunately for them and unfortunatelyfof Juvia, she couldn’t remember anything when she woke up in a bed in the orphanage, she had forgotten her father, her home, her friends, that the rain had followed her and what it was like to feel loved.
The orphanage had traced Juvia’s D.N.A only back to her mother since Mercuphohia obviously wasn’t on the system and from this they found out that Juvia had an uncle who she would often visit on special occasions until he passed away when she was ten, but luckily she still had five years with him to find out what her mother was like, she had asked about her father once but her uncle made it very clear to her to never ask him about her father ever again.
Juvia got bullied by the other children in the orphanage a lot which resulted in her having low self esteem issues and never being able to find love, or so she taught until she had met the love of her life on the rooftop of phantom lord, not knowing that he’d be the one to not only steel her heart but also reunite her with her father.
I was going to add bits about phantom lord but then I realised that this post was too long so I decided to scratch that but OMG please go see @lovelocksers theory on this becuase honestly I really wish it was real and I’m so upset with the fact that it’s not!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rest of the week past too quickly for yours and Sirius’ liking. You couldn’t make up for lost time, only managing to share desperate kisses. It was strange at first; transferring from the close friendship you had into an official relationship. Sometimes, the thought alone became too much to handle, because you were dating Sirius Black, and nothing could wipe the goofy smile off of your face. But, your five days were nearly up, and Sirius had already packed, ready to go to the Potter’s. Now, you were both laid on your bed, your back pressed against his stomach while he traced shapes into the side of your arm. Neither of you wanted your time together to end.
“You will write to me, won’t you?” You asked, turning your head to look at him. Since his confession to you, you had rarely missed an opportunity to admire his features because of the simple fact that now you could.
“I’ll see if I can find the time,” he replied cheekily.
“Oh, ha ha,” your sarcastic tone not going unnoticed by Sirius. “Honestly Black, you should be a comedian.” You fling the covers off of you whilst you search through a cabinet in the corner of your room, leaving Sirius in the bed alone.
His eyebrows furrow slightly at your sudden decision to get up, but he disregards it, more intrigued in what you said. “Oh yeah? What’s one of them?”  Sirius noticed you were distracted with finding whatever you were looking for so he gave a little cough to get your attention.
“Oh sorry. Erm, it’s pretty much a job where you tell jokes. If you’re good at it, then- AHA!” You exclaimed, jumping up and holding up a blank vinyl sleeve. “I found it!”
He looks at you in confusion. “Found what exactly?”
“You’ll see,” you smirked.
You carefully place the vinyl onto the record player and lower the needle. Soon enough, the static sounds stop and song starts. Climbing back into the bed with him, you see that the puzzled look on his face was replaced by one of fascination. You had to smile at that. “What, you’ve never seen a record player before?”
“No, I have. I’ve just never heard this song before.”
“Oh. It’s ‘Eight Days a Week’ by the Beatles. They’re a muggle band, probably why you’ve never heard of them.”
“I love it,” he beamed. He suddenly lifted himself out of bed and offered his hand out to you, bowing slightly. “Care to dance, sweetheart?”
Giggling, you take his hand as he pulls you up. “Certainly, sir,” putting on your best posh voice as a playful smile tugged at his lips.
At first, the two of you just circle around the room, his hands resting on the small of your back, and yours wrapped loosely around his neck, not caring if you weren’t following the rhythm of the song. But then he began to get more playful, spinning and twirling you around. When the song ended, you were both laughing at each other in adoration, happy that you could be with someone who you could still have fun with. Unfortunately, the effects of dizziness soon took over your body, so you had to sit down in order to stay balanced.
Sirius sits down next to you, still laughing slightly. “You have got to send me some of those.”
“I’ll send a new one with every letter I get.” You coyly smile at him, though he caught on to your thoughts.
“Well, you were reason enough, but now you and Beatles albums? Darling, I’ll be writing to you every hour.” And if that wasn’t enough to make you swoon, he goddamn winks at you.
Merlin, the rest of these holidays were going to drag.
The first letter you got from Sirius was short. He let you know he got the Potter’s safely, and how unused to he was to their kind attitude towards him. He mentioned that James had already decorated his entire room for him with Gryffindor colours and images of you and the rest of the Marauders. Happy he had finally found people he could really call his family, you make your way over to your cabinet where you kept your vinyl records. As promised, with every letter you received from Sirius, you would send a Beatles song, this time choosing 'Kansas City’. You mutter a quick charm to prevent it from scratching and write a quick note to him saying how you hoped he was enjoying it there. You attach them both to the owl’s leg and watch as it flies off into the distance.
It had been three days since you had sent Sirius your reply, and though you had spent almost all your time looking hopefully out of the window, you still jumped in shock when an owl flew into the kitchen, carrying a rather large looking piece of parchment. You rush over to the owl, stroking its feathers once before going to retrieve the letter.
You carelessly tear open the envelope and read the letter.
Y/N,
Just so you know, I will not be returning any of the songs you send me because I enjoy them too much. (Kidding – but please let me keep them for just a while longer).
I love it here. Mainly because Euphemia makes me my favourite meal everyday but also because she’s just generally amazing. Yesterday I told her that I wished I was her real son and she told me to stop being silly, because she considered as much as a part of the family as James is.
It’s been weird not seeing you. I guess I got used to seeing your face whenever I woke up. When I listen to the songs I just imagine we’re dancing again.
James says hi. - He said other things as well but I’m not going to repeat them.
Miss you,
Sirius.
You hurriedly write a reply and find a new record to send him. Eventually you settle on 'I Saw Her Standing There’, and once again, you were left to wait for his reply.
So far, you had sent three more records for each letter Sirius wrote to you. There was no pressure on either of you to respond right away, you both knew that you would be seeing each other when Hogwarts started again. You didn’t really have any plans for this Summer, (Lily was in Italy and Remus said he was too busy studying for his N.E.W.T’s), so to say the knock on your door was unexpected would’ve been an understatement.
You prepared yourself to talk to muggles but instead you were confronted with Sirius, wearing an ear-splitting grin.
“Miss me, Y/N/N?”
You run to him, his large arms enveloping you in a tight hug. “What in the world are you doing here?” You ask in disbelief.
He releases you and bends down to pick up a basket. He holds it up, showing it to you. “Picnic?”
You giggle, still looking at him in bewilderment before giving him a short kiss on his cheek. He tried to suppress his laughter at the fact you had to stand on your tiptoes to reach him. “Let me grab something.”
When you go back downstairs, you hear Sirius humming 'Hey Jude’ to himself, not aware you had returned. You walk past him and ruffle his hair, loving how soft it felt in your hands. He jolted slightly at your sudden appearance but smiled when you called back at him. “Are you accompanying me on this picnic, or are you just going to stand there and look hum the Beatles?”
He shakes his head at your comment, but catches up to you anyway. “You don’t even know where we’re going anyway.” He says smugly, halting you in your tracks.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean I found a good spot, so you need to be accompanying me, sweetheart.”
Sirius led you through woods, and winding paths until you came to a secluded lake, a large grass bank surrounding it. “Found it on my way to the portkey to James’.” He looks at you anxiously. “So, what do you think?”
You try to wipe the look of complete awe off of your face, though unsuccessfully. “I think it’s perfect,” you whisper. “Thank you, Pads.”
You had to give credit to Sirius; the food he brought tasted amazing. The freezing charm he placed in one of the compartments even allowed you to enjoy eating ice-cream. Well, you say eating. Really you mean Sirius tackling you to the ground and attempting to wipe some on your nose. You talked about his previous weeks with the Potters in more detail, learning that James had bought Quidditch tickets for them both for the following week. When you had eaten as much as you could, you found a spot of shade beside the lake. Grabbing your bag, you rummage through it.
“What are you looking for?”
You answer him by pulling out a book, its spine bent and broken, and holding it out to him. “It’s what I went back for. I was going to read it to you if you wanted?”
He nods eagerly, and allows you to rest your body against his stomach. You manage to read through four chapters before you become too tired to continue.
Eventually, after half an hour of just lying next to one another, you both decided to head back when the heat from the sun became too much, both of you becoming exhausted from the sweltering heat.
The walk back didn’t seem to take as long, probably, you thought, because Sirius had taken you the scenic route to get there.
As you were walking through the village shops near your home, one of the items in one of the shop windows caught your eyes, suddenly sparking your interest. “I’ll be right back!” You shout.
A few minutes later, you come out of the shop carrying a small bag. “What did you buy?” He asks.
“Oh, just food,” brushing off his question. But something about the mischievous glint in your eyes told him you weren’t being entirely truthful.
Sure enough, when you both got back to your house, you had quickly disappeared out of sight, leaving Sirius alone in the garden.
He doesn’t see or hear you approaching, but instead is alerted by your presence by cold water splashing on his back. He swiftly turns around to see you curling over yourself with laughter.
“'Just food’, huh?”
“Hey, water balloons are the best way to cool down. They’re right here if you want 'em,” you remarked.
“Well, I’m definitely in no position to refuse that offer.” He comes over to the bucket where you had placed all the full water balloons and grabbed a few. He throws one which hits your shoulder, and instead of shivering at the cold water, you welcome it as it makes the heat more endurable.
You and Sirius continue the water fight for a few minutes, but the balloons quickly run out. You were both soaking, hair dripping and clothes tightly attached to your bodies. Various different colours littered the grass and the two of you were laughing at each other. You were determined to win, so you slyly go to get the bucket which had a small amount of water remaining at the bottom. When he turns completely away from you, you run up behind him and throw it. You knew you only had a few seconds to run away before he would try and grab you, but he was too fast.  You both fell to the ground, his arms pinning you beneath him. The water from his face falls onto your face, and he leans in, sweetly kissing you.
When his lips finally detach from yours, you look up at him. “Love you too, Sirius.”
And even though you knew this summer hadn’t even ended yet, you couldn’t wait until next year.
