Palutena: If it's any consolation, they're not actually from the Aurum. Dyntos just copied their technology.

Pit: That doesn't really make me feel better. Dyntos has done some weird stuff.

Palutena: ...If it's alright for me to ask, why do these weapons in particular make you uncomfortable? You haven't had trouble with other weapons based off your enemies.

Pit: Well, that whole Aurum situation was really weird. You remember what happened to Pyrrhon? He tried to control the Aurum, but...

Palutena: ...They ended up controlling him instead.

Pit: And I had to watch. He's somewhere out in space now. Not in control of his own body.

AW THANK U it's pretty messy handwriting but here it is! i drew lines where songs shared leitmotifs, including original NES songs since a lot of the uprising music pulls from that

some of the lines are a bit all over the place. but that's mainly bc of "the three trials" which has no original music and is comprised of other tracks from the game - fitting since dyntos doesn't make any of his own monsters, but just copies others!!

WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP - Início dos jogos.

Como vocẽs já sabem, o Campeonato de Inverno se inicia nessa segunda e vai até sexta (de 09/01 até 13/01). O Comitê espera que tenham aproveitado a abertura e o domingo de relaxamento!

Como dissemos anteriormente, o Campeonato poderia ser simplificado ou poderia seguir a linha de mais de um jogo como uma copa. Entretanto, marcamos somente um jogo e bem simplificados, senão ficaria muita informação pra uma semana só, e se as competições seguissem por mais semanas, o plot ficaria repetitivo.

Também analisamos e consideramos o empenho dos Clubes e sua organização durante essa semana de preparativos. Teve uma movimentação considerável, mas teve time perdendo integrante no meio do plot drop, teve time ganhando membros (o que foi ótimo e agradecemos o empenho!), mas em geral, considerando a não sobrecarga de ninguém, faremos somente um jogo em uma semana.

E como serão as classificações? O jogo é por conta de vocês, caros players.

Vocês podem decidir entre si se foram classificados ou não, podem fazer sorteio, ou ainda, podem utilizar a ferramenta de dados do discord para decidir as partidas ou o “x1” no caso de competições de performance individual.

No caso do uso de dados, recomendamos que o professor responsável, ou líder ou vice-líder seja responsável por jogar como o NPC. Em último caso, alguém do clube que possa estar disponível. Em último dos últimos casos, vocês podem agendar um horário com a moderação para que façamos o papel de NPC em caso de dinâmica do discord.

Lembrando que POVs e selfparas sempre são bem vindos, sendo vitória ou derrota. Como dissemos, narrações sempre são bem vindas, mas também ficam por conta de vocês nos entregar o conteúdo, como a exemplo dos players da Soccer League.

Como cada clube possui suas particularidades, deixamos livres para que vocês façam as suas formas de jogo e conversem entre si sobre qual seria a melhor forma de obter um resultado. Vale primeiro, segundo e terceiro lugar, respectivamente, medalhas de ouro, prata e bronze. E claro, vale desclassificação completa - o que também gera desenvolvimento, afinal, como haverão futuros campeonatos… Se o seu clube for desclassificado dessa vez, o que e como ele fará para participar de futuros campeonatos? Formas lícitas ou ilícitas? Fica a ideia no ar.

Spoiler: o Campeonato não acaba por aqui, é uma porta de entrada para outros que virão pela frente.

Kid Icarus: Uprising

Chapter 6: A Promise of Death (6/?)

(want a better explanation of what’s happening to Dark? check the post here for the headcanon that led to this fic. contains spoilers!)

This chapter: Dark Pit, Viridi, Pit, Palutena, Hades (mentioned), Pitcest

Dark learns the extent of the damage that the Chaos Kin has done to him. He’s now thinking about what to say to Pit with more urgency than ever. To make things worse, he’ll have to wait until Pit manages to defeat Hades.

From what he understood, it was several days before he woke up. Once he regained consciousness, he could barely breathe without coughing. His throat was raw and pounded with every pulse of his heart. Viridi told him the hypothesis she and Palutena had come up with for his condition. She wasn't sarcastic nor cheerful as she spoke. 

"When the Chaos Kin's remains attacked you, a portion of them attached to your lungs." She frowned, "We tried to remove them, we really did, but it's fused with your flesh. It'd be impossible to get rid of it without killing you in the process."

"Does Pit--" Dark began, his hoarse voice swiftly cut off by the goddess. 

"No, we haven't told him." Viridi looked him in the eyes, "He's preparing for his final battle with Hades. He needs to be focused."

The angel nodded in agreement. His mind was swimming in so many thoughts that he couldn't figure out what to say. Finally, his mind fell onto the three years he lost, and the several days just now, "Will I die?"

Viridi was silent for several moments. She looked away, trying to find a way to dodge the question. When she found none, she spoke, "Yes." her eyes were sad, "You will, but it won't be quick."

"Will it...will it keep hurting this bad?" He hated the fact that he sounded like a small child. He sounded like someone who didn't understand what was going on. 

"I'm already looking into medicine to mitigate the pain and symptoms." Viridi seemed to pick up on the internal crisis, but didn't mention it, "Palutena's going to help me once Hades is dealt with."

"You should help them too..."

"I am. I don't want you to suffer, though." the goddess walked over to a shelf and grabbed something, "For now, take this. It'll make you drowsy, but it'll relieve the pain. We'll make sure you have something that actually keeps you from coughing your brains out as soon as possible."

Dark grabbed the bottle when she extended her hand. There were two pills inside. He stared at them for a long moment before Viridi handed him a glass of water, and he used it to help him swallow them. He stared at the empty bottle now.

"If you want to tell Pit how you feel, the next time you see him will probably be your chance." Viridi walked to the room's door, grabbing the handle, "For now, get some rest."

The words churned in his stomach a while. He thought about telling Pit how he felt again, but instead of making him feel silly, each attempt at imagining a scenario filled him with dread. What If Pit were to feel obligated to say yes to him because of his condition? 

A quick answer solved that problem. He wouldn't tell Pit until he had to. And...if he said no anyway, Dark would have to deal with the rejection. He supposed that somewhere in him, that was always the plan. If he said no, Dark would just disappear to do whatever he wanted, forever remaining unbound by anyone. He liked that idea. But he couldn't run away from Pit. Not now, after being saved. Even if it was all for naught.

He leaned back down onto the bed, growing more tired by the moment. Whatever Viridi had given him was strong stuff. Maybe too strong if he had a say, but he didn't know the extent of the damage that the Chaos Kin had done, and Viridi did. He thought again about Pit. Maybe, even if he was rejected, he could settle for having a friend in his short, pathetic life. 

It continued like this. Coughing fits and medicine that knocked him out in between. Viridi would give him updates on the upcoming battle with Hades as time passed, as though Dark could tell how long it had been from inside the confines of this room. Even when offered food, he barely ate, and Viridi didn't say anything about it. She could understand just from the angel's silence on the subject that he wasn't ready to know more about his current state. 

Palutena had been relaying back to Viridi about Pit's concern for the other angel since he wasn't one to be so silent without reason. The last time it had been his injury. Dark would always insist that he would be the one to tell Pit, though, and not until after Hades was defeated. It was that much that made it to Palutena.

What barely made it to even Viridi, though, was just how bad Dark was feeling. Even the medicine didn't entirely keep him from feeling the pain in his lungs. That burning, searing pain that made it so he could barely think about moving for most of the day. He knew he was losing weight, too. The clothes that had once fit him well now hung limply off of his figure. 

Once or twice, he had made it to a hot spring that Viridi had prepared in an attempt to help heal him, but there was no luck even in that. Dark had even passed out and nearly drowned once or twice. Getting water into his already damaged lungs certainly didn't help him. He stopped going to the hot spring after that. 

Once he finally, finally, received word of Hades' defeat, Dark went to join Pit in his victory celebration, despite the pain shooting through his body with every breath. At this point, it was no longer a matter of what the dark angel wanted to do. It was a matter of what he needed to do. And he needed to tell Pit how he felt before it was too late.

This post is about a Kid Icarus: Uprising headcanon that @kirkshouseplant and I have had for a long time. The reason I’m posting about it is because it’s going to become relevant for my fic Reunion Leads to Ruin (link to ch1, I’d appreciate more readers for sure!) within the next couple of chapters. This will be a little spoilery for that fic, and the later chapters of Uprising, so I’ll put it under the cut. I just wanted to provide it for anyone who’s curious about what’s going on! It’s also a little dark, so I’ll try to tag it with the appropriate warnings.

The situation begins when the Chaos Kin’s remains try to drag Dark Pit into the Chaos Vortex, in hope of stealing his body. When it does so, it has the chance to wrap him pretty tightly around the neck. It has the opportunity to get in his mouth and/or nose as he struggles, and before Pit is able to grab him. Even though it is mostly burnt away by Pit’s flaming wings, and then likely removed the rest of the way by either Palutena or Viridi, the damage was done when it managed to enter his lungs. It left behind fragments of the Chaos Kin’s ashes, and with them, a small amount of power. It’s not enough to have an effect on his soul, but it is certainly enough to have an effect on his body, namely his ability to breathe. In his rush to save Pit, he manages to ignore it...until after he leaves the Rewind Spring. Once Viridi has retrieved him, it becomes apparent that something is very, very wrong. Dark falls into repeated coughing fits that lead to him losing a lot of blood. By the time Viridi and Palutena, who are also busy helping Pit to prepare for the battle against Hades (and keep all this secret from him), figure out what’s going on, the Kin’s remains have had time to fully fuse with Dark’s flesh. They realize he will die, even though he’s spent a large portion of his still-short life comatose due to the period Pit spent as a ring. Once Hades is dealt with, they try all sorts of things, including water from the Rewind Spring to try and fix him. Nothing works, so they turn to trying to mitigate symptoms and pain. Through a lot of trial and error, they manage to do so. It’s a liquid medicine, which tastes pretty fowl, but it keeps Dark alive a little longer, so he’s willing to take it. 

Shrimp and I haven’t really thought about the actual death part a lot, but we’ve always thought it would screw with Pit’s mind (whether in a ship way or not is up to viewer discretion, we ship it, but you don’t have to to appreciate the headcanon, I think). Dark lives such a short life. He was supposed to be just like any other angel, immortal. But just like the other angels Pit knew in his youth...he was taken away. It’s screwed up. But he chooses to honor his death as much as anyone else’s.

Palutena: I doubt you would've wanted what you yelled as you were falling to be your final words. You might want to workshop that.

Pit: You heard that?

Palutena: You yelled it, Pit.

Dark Pit: What did you yell?

Pit: Nothing important.

Palutena: Aww, are you getting shy about it? Come on, tell him.

Pit: ...I said ...”I never learned how to read.”

Dark Pit: Wh‒ huh?

Palutena: I admit, I was a little confused too.

Dark Pit: You know how to read.

Pit: Yeah. But I wanted someone to teach me.

Dark Pit: But you know how.

Pit: I just wanted to learn it! It sounds nice! Like, practicing making my letters pretty in a book with lines, reading about a girl saying “go, Spot, go!” and getting praised for doing a good job!

Palutena: Oh, Pit! That's so adorable!

Pit: Augh! Stop! Let's talk about something else!

Pit looked at the notebook in front of him; the one he’d filled with scribbles and barely-coherent notes and five-second drawings. He’d spent the past half-hour on this, but, try as he might, he couldn’t make anything work.

The angel groaned, faceplanting the desk. “This is the worst!” He yelled, to nobody in particular. “If I don’t come up with a new Final Smash, I can’t join the next game!” He looked up at his notes, trying to fight back tears. He loved Smash. So many amazing people, so many fun times… But because of Mr. Sakurai and his team’s reworks to the game for the newest entry (which Pit thought looked awesome, to be fair), he had to give up the Three Sacred Treasures. Unless he could come up with a new Final Smash attack (or agreed to return to using the Centurion Army), he might have to sit it out.

I don’t want to quit! Pit thought, his wings shuttering and twitching with distress. I had so much fun! Besides, I’m the protagonist. If they decide to remove me, will they get rid of Lady Palutena and Pittoo as well? I don’t want them to have to quit just because of me!

Pit sighed, sitting upright. Maybe he’d just have to ask the centurions for their help again…

“Hey, Pit-stain.”

Pit froze, then spun around in his chair “Pittoo! What are you-”

The dark angel cut Pit off by throwing a set of keys at him. Pit nearly fumbled then, but managed to keep his grip. “Here. Heard you might need this. I think it’s about time you learned something from me for a change, anyway.”

“Wh-Pittoo, what are you talking about?”

Dark Pit, as Pit had sort of come to expect, didn’t stop to explain himself before leaving, with Viridi pulling him out (and seemingly yelling at him as she did).

As Pit quickly figured out, the keys weren’t actually to anything, so much as a symbolic gesture.

Skyworld got a furious call from Viridi later that day demanding to know where her chariot was.

...Have you ever realized something funny, then came up with a cute HC to explain it, then ended up writing a whole drabble based on the whole thing just to get it off your chest?
