a Bad Neurodivergent Brain Feel is when you're HUNGRY and you KNOW you're hungry and so you cast around and find some food that sounds palatable and then you put it in your mouth and then your brain goes. what is this. and you say 'it's food! we eat it! yummy!' and your brain goes absolutely not. and you say "what do you mean absolutely not. we need to eat. we're hungry. this is food. we should eat it." and your brain goes this is not food >:( and so you say "what do you mean it isn't food. it tastes good, doesn't it? so just chew and swallow. i don't see what the big deal is." and your brain says it tastes good but it is NOT FOOD. we should not chew it and swallow it so we can use its nutrients. we should spit it out into a garbage can. and so you sigh and ask "is there some other kind of food you would prefer?" and your brain replies no, this is as good as it's going to get. this isn't food, though. and then you have to mechanically chew and swallow the perfectly fine, good-tasting food with autopilot not only off but actively rebelling against you like an exhausted toddler who won't go to be.
it's maybe not the WORST feeling in the world, but it's up there!!
