World Egg Day
Have fun with egg-based meals, from scrambled eggs for breakfast to egg cake for dessert. Make use of eggs in other ways by decorating them with family.
Arguably one of the oldest foods known to man, eggs have played an important role in the lives and health of humans since time out of mind. These little goodies are packed full of protein, and also serve as the base for some of the most wonderful breakfast foods and culinary additions, including that most perfect of condiments for sandwiches, mayonnaise.
World Egg Day celebrates these delightful little packages of deliciousness and the incredibly important role they play in the day-to-day lives of humans all over the planet.
History of World Egg Day
Typically, when most tend to consider the egg, they think of those white or brown shelled emissions that come from the common chicken. Containing a small treasure with a golden yolk, and the potential to become so many things that it strains the boundaries of human imagination, the Chicken Egg has become the definitive image when the word ‘egg’ is spoken.
But these are not the only type of eggs that mankind finds valuable, consider for a moment caviar, a symbol of wealth in its own right. These are, of course, the eggs of various fish, and World Egg Day represents their importance as well.
The history of the egg expands far beyond merely a culinary concern and, in fact, has had great importance in multiple cultures for reasons both decorative and religious. In many cultures around the world, eggs have been a sign of fertility and representative of life, renewal and rebirth.
Consider for a moment the Easter Egg, where children hunt each year for brightly colored eggs or plastic shaped in the form of the egg which contains treats such as chocolate, jellybeans, or money. In fact, decorated Easter Eggs are one of the oldest forms of decorative artwork in the world.
And what about the Faberge Eggs? Those beautiful pieces of artistic elegance created by Peter Carl Faberge from St. Petersburg, Russia. So beautiful were these that they were prized even by Czars!
World Egg Day reminds you to explore the hallways of history and the places that eggs occupy there. It’s time to get into celebrating World Egg Day!
How to Celebrate World Egg Day
Getting involved with celebrating World Egg Day can become an exciting adventure when it comes to celebrating everything to do with the Egg. Try out some of these ideas for celebrating the day:
Enjoy a Meal Including Eggs
Celebrating World Egg Day best starts with a great big plate of scrambled eggs served along with their most bosom companion, bacon. With a dash of salt and pepper, plus a little bit of cheese, that simple plate of eggs will be absolutely delicious!
For lunch, a great idea would be to create a sandwich upon a slice of Challah bread, a Jewish Egg bread that is nothing short of amazing. And the center of the sandwich? Well, that probably needs to be egg salad, of course. Make it with some boiled eggs, mayonnaise, mustard, and some chopped dill pickle relish.
Those who are feeling a little bit adventurous may look and find if there are types of eggs that they have, perhaps, never tried before. Duck Eggs are especially prized, and Goose Eggs are larger than the typical chicken egg but can be quite interesting when cooked in a variety of ways.
Learn Some Fun Facts About Eggs
World Egg Day is the perfect time to brush up on interesting tidbits and trivia that can be shared with various coworkers, neighbors, friends, or family members. They’ll be impressed with unique and interesting bits of information, such as:
Egg Color is Determined By Earlobes. The color of the egg doesn’t have anything to do with freshness, flavor or nutritional value. In fact, the color of the egg is determined strictly by the breed of the hen and corresponds to the color of the hen’s earlobe!
Chefs Hats are Influenced by Eggs. Some people aren’t aware that going back a little in history, the meaning of the number of the pleats in a chef’s hat was related to the number of ways that the chef was able to cook an egg. The ultimate goal and badge of true honor was to get to 100 pleats.
Iowa is a Big Egg Producer. In the United States, the state of Iowa leads the nation in egg production, with more than 14 billion eggs every single year! The next state comes in at around half of that: Ohio produces a little under 8 billion eggs per year.
Eating cooked eggs is healthier. While some people think that eating a raw egg will help to build muscle, that’s not true. Only about 50% of the proteins in a raw egg can be digested. After it’s cooked, the body can digest more than 90% of the proteins.
Get Creative with an Ostrich Eggs
For those of an artistic bent, there is great potential to be found in a carefully drained Ostrich Egg, one could even make themselves a lamp from such an egg!
World Egg Day encourages people all over the world to truly explore the possibilities within the egg!
Bonus: Egg Freshness Tips
Not sure if those eggs are fresh? The best way to test for freshness is by dropping an egg into a glass of water. If it sinks, it is fresh. If it floats? It’s probably old.
Eggs that have a cloudy white are extremely fresh! Most eggs that come from the grocery store have been sitting around a little longer and will probably have “whites” that are actually clear and colorless. They’re still fine to eat, though, unless the “whites” are some color other than cloudy white or transparent.

Backseat (Choi YeonJun)
Preview:  “So, uh..” He cleared his throat. “You wanna move this to the back seat?” He asked nervously.
Tumblr media
Contains: bestfriend!yeonjun, unprotected sex, nipple play, semi-public sex, car sex, kinda confusing feelings, lots of making out  18+ MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
word count- 2.1k/unedited/cross-posted to ao3
“You ready for the most exciting night of your life?” You asked as soon as your passenger side door opened. Your best friend sat down, kicking the water bottle by his feet as he did. He had a mask pulled over his face, a hat tipped low.
“How exciting are we talking? I didn’t bring a change of clothes with me.” He chuckled as he pulled the mask off and threw the hat on your dashboard. His hand came up to push his hair back before he looked over, flashing a smile that made your heart skip a beat.
Choi Yeonjun. Your best friend since elementary school. The one who had transferred to your school from out of the country, the one who taught you Korean during recess, who you helped with English homework after school. When he moved back to Korea, you guys swapped addresses and emails and kept up with each other. He constantly told you about how training was going, about his debut date.
Whenever they had concerts in your area, you were the first one to know. Yeonjun always spilled the beans and pulled some strings to get you there. You enjoyed spending time with the rest of the boys, but these moments alone with Yeonjun always meant the most.
“Well it is close to midnight, so not too exciting.” You pulled out of your parking spot. “There’s a late night boba place close by, and maybe we can get some cheap burgers somewhere. Maybe get some gossip going in a parking lot somewhere.”
“So thrilling.” He clicked his seatbelt. “How was the show?”
“Amazing as always,” You turned to smile at him as you slowed to a stop at a red light. “The girls next to me kept talking about how hot you are. I wanted to tell them about the time you nearly shat yourself after we had bad sushi in LA.”
“Hey! We promised to never bring that up!” He pointed at you. “You weren’t much better that night! You nearly threw up from laughing at me” He crossed his arms and pouted.
Laughter erupted in the car, both of you arguing back and forth about who had it worse that night. Soon enough, your drinks and snacks had been collected and the two of you were off to find some kind of secluded parking lot.
“Okay, give me some juicy gossip.” Yeonjun pushed his seat back and unbuckled his seat belt. He dug in the bag of cheap fast food and pulled out some fries. “What’s been going on since the last time we talked?”
“Where do I even begin?” You took a sip of your boba and reached over to steal a fry from Yeonjun.
The night began to fly by as the two of you laughed and dug deep into some serious topics. It wasn’t until a light silence fell over the two of you that you felt your heart begin to flutter again. You locked eyes with your best friend and suddenly the tension grew. His lips parted slightly and his tongue peeked out, wetting his lips.
You wondered how they would feel. Pressed against your lips, parted against your throat in gasps and whimpers, how they would feel wrapped around your clit. How swollen and pouty they would get after kissing and biting.
Before you knew it, you were leaning over to the passenger seat and Yeonjun was meeting you almost halfway. Your lips met and you couldn’t believe what was happening. His lips were soft, almost silky, and so plush. His hand came to rest on your waist, giving you some stability as you leaned over to him. He kissed you back with intense passion, his tongue slipping between your lips and into your mouth.
You couldn’t help but gasp at the feeling, his tongue slowly moving with yours. He gently sucked on your lower lip and gave a tiny nibble as you pulled away.
“So, uh..” He cleared his throat. “You wanna move this to the back seat?” He asked nervously.
He couldn’t have asked sooner. The second those words left his mouth, you were crawling through the space between your two chairs and into the backseat, waiting for him to follow. He crawled back, laughing slightly as he tried to wiggle his legs through without falling on top of you. The second he fell into the seat next to you, you wiggled into his lap, straddling him.
His hands came to rest on your waist again as you leaned down to kiss him. His lips met yours once again, this time a little harder. His hands gripped your sides as he feverishly kissed you back, both of your tongues fighting for spots in each others mouths.
“Ah, fuck.” He pulled away, a string of saliva connecting your lips. A loud whimper escapes his lips as you grind your hips down on his. The growing bulge in his sweatpants sat perfectly on your heat, and you weren’t about to let that go to waste. Another gasp left his mouth as you dipped your head down to suck a mark on the side of his neck.
You couldn’t help but lick a line from his exposed collarbone to the space under his ear, the salty sweat tickling your tongue. You could feel his pulse under your lips as you gently kisses the spot before sucking his skin into your mouth, gently nibbling as you left the red mark.
“Fuck, Y/N.” His arms moved up your back and pulled you closer. You hummed lightly, pulling off the skin and giving it a light lick in an attempt to soothe the area.
His lips captured yours again as soon as you pulled back, his hands moving to pull at your shirt. “Take it off,” He whispered against your lips. “Let me touch you, see you.”
You pulled away to quickly take your top off and threw it into the front seat. Yeonjun immediately reached around to fiddle with your bra straps, undoing the clasp in a matter of seconds. The fabric slid down your arms and to the floor.
You giggled slightly as you looked at Yeonjun. His eyes were focused on your chest, mouth slightly agape. His hands were trembling slightly as he sat back  and brought them up to your chest, slightly cupping your breasts. He slurped slightly as he closed his mouth, massaging your breasts.
“Holy shit, they’re so perfect.” He whispered. His thumbs moved to flick your nipples and roll the soft buds. “Why have you been hiding these from me?” He looked up at you, moving closer to wrap his lips around one of the now hardened buds.
Your eyes rolled back slightly at the feeling of his warm mouth around your nipple. The softness of his tongue caressing the sensitive skin sent waves through your stomach. You nearly lost it when you looked back down at him and he was watching your face with slightly hooded eyes. Your hand moved to pet the back of his hair, running your fingers through the soft locks as he stimulated your nipples.
Yeonjun pulled away from your nipples, moving to kiss up your chest, leaning small hickies as he trailed up. His hand tangled in the back of your hair as he met your lips once more. You whimpered into his mouth when he pinched your nipple. Your hands searched for something to grab, settling on his still clothed shoulder.
“Your turn,” You panted. “Take it off.”
“Your wish is my command.” He smiled as he sat back, pulling the shirt off and over his head. He pushed his hair back, the strands falling back over his eyes. You ran your hands down his chest, feeling the muscles of his pecs under the soft skin. Your fingers ghosted over his nipples, a smirk painting your face as his chest shook with a sharp breath.
It didn’t take long for Yeonjun to have you on your back, wedged between your legs in the cramped space. His fingers are making hasty work of the buttons on your jeans, finally pulling them off your legs in a few quick tugs. His hands traced up your thighs, feeling the soft flesh under his finger tips.
“Yeonjun, please.” You begged. “Need you, want you to fuck me.”
He hummed in response, taking his bottom lip into his mouth as he pulled his sweatpants down to his thighs, cock falling free. “You want this?” He rubbed his cock over your clothed heat. “Tell me how bad you want this.”
You groaned as he focused some attention on your clit. Even through the thin fabric, the feeling was incredible. “Please, I need you so bad.” You whined and pressed your hips up, pressing against him for some more friction. “I’m so wet for you, I don’t think I can wait any longer, Junnie.”
It took half a second for Yeonjun to, quite literally, rip your underwear from your sticky heat. The now destroyed underwear flew under one of the seats as he tossed them away, leaning down to capture you in a kiss as he roughly pushed into you.
A loud, guttural moan ripped it way out of your throat at the same time that Yeonjun let out a sigh. He pulled away from the kiss, opting to rest his forehead on yours to look in your eyes. He adjusted his hips slightly, the new angle caused his cock to rest in the perfect spot, making you involuntarily clench around him.
“Let me know when I can move, ok?”
You took a few deep breaths, adjusting to the unfamiliar feeling. Your best friends cock was nestled in you, in places you didn’t even know could be touched. You nodded your head, giving Yeonjun the ok to start moving.
He rocked his hips forward, slowly at first, grinding against you in the most sinful way. You could feel your cheeks turning pink at the soft squelches coming from where you two met.
“You’re so fucking wet.” Yeonjun grunted as he rolled his hips. “Just, slipping all over my cock.” His head dipped down to nip at your collarbone. You couldn’t help but turn your neck, giving him better access. “You’re soaking me, making a fucking mess.”
You whimpered as he began to move faster. The waves of pleasure going through you made you believe you weren’t going to last long, Yeonjun was fucking you too good. He was hitting every spot perfectly, tiny grunts and sighs coming out of him as he worked towards his own orgasm.
“Fuck, I want you to come first.” He slipped his hand between the two of you, fingers searching for your clit. You reached up, tangling your hand in the back of his hair and pulled him down. He met you with an open mouthed kiss, tongue licking into your mouth with urgency. Your teeth clashed a few times in the heated kiss but it only made you kiss him harder, messier.
“A-ah,” Your voice wavered as Yeonjun made contact with the sensitive bundle of nerves. “Ah, fuck!” You groaned loudly, hands reaching to dig your fingers into his back, thighs, anything within reach.
“There it is.” He smirked, sitting back up slightly to tower over you, still rubbing your clit. He rocked forward a little faster, matching his hand with his hips. “Gonna come for me, pretty? I wanna see what you look like when you come.”
“Don’t stop.” Your entire body felt like it was on fire, your legs were trembling, hips pushing up for something, anything. Waves went through your body. You could feel your heart racing, the nervous ball in your stomach expanding. It wasn’t until Yeonjun took his free hand and pushed your legs back, holding them as close to your chest as he could, and gave another thrust that it all fell apart.
The waves flew down your stomach and you could feel wetness dribbling. Your eyes rolled back as Yeonjun pushed you through your orgasm. The spasming muscles pushed him to his own orgasm and he hurriedly pulled out, finishing on your lower stomach.
The two of you sat in silence as you both came down and tried to catch your breaths. Yeonjun reached over the seats to grab some discarded napkins and gently wiped you down, muttering small apologies as he wiped your most sensitive areas. After discarding the napkins and pulling his pants back up, he found his way on top of you again, this time in a gently crushing cuddle.
“I’d say this was the most exciting night of my life, Y/N.”

Hobbies: Reading, riding roller coasters, playing video games, watching C-Dramas
Nicknames by other characters: Rook “Mademoiselle le Curieuse” and Floyd “Carp”
Physical Description
Unlike canon Yuu, she is quite female presenting
Tall and willowy with a slender figure
Tawny-beige skin
Long jet black hair that reaches down to her hips
She does not tan but will get freckles in the sun, especially during the summer
Often has it tied back in a braid or bun
Dark grey eyes
the closest IRL representation of her face that I could find, the eyes are grey due to photo editing, though I couldn’t get them as dark grey as I imagine hers to be. They’re as close I was able to make them with my limited skills
Tumblr media
Closest voice claim for her would be Lila Moss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR5dVJexbvY
It isn’t a perfect one but it's as close as I could find
She has a good singing voice and is a decent dancer
This is pretty close to how I imagine her singing voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDcoYeqrwsE
She’s not the most amazing singer but can carry a tune and is decent enough
Personality
Isn’t really one to freak out much and when she does, it's very much inside her own head, she is usually is able to pull herself together relatively quickly to focus on the task at hand
She is a bit of know it all
Easily frustrated when she isn’t able to do something but ends up making her even more determined to succeed at the task
She is terrible at maths and science which makes classes like Alchemy quite hard. Ace and Deuce are a big help
Can be very biting with her remarks or retorts
She’s quite bookish and for the most part prefers books over people
She can get very fangirly at times especially when it comes to anything about the fae
She has a short fuse and a fiery temper to go with it
It can also burst out in fierce defence for someone if they are within her circle
She very much has the Slytherin-like trait of if you’re not in her inner circle she doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you
She is really sarcastic and can come off as straight up rude when she doesn’t mean to be
She can be very vindictive when you cross her and is downright cruel in her revenge
She can be very selfish too and doesn’t always think about how her actions affect others
She’s also quite petty and can hold grudges for awhile
If you’re in in her inner circle, she’s very teasing and loves to push your buttons
She quite impulsive at times and will often blurt things out without thinking
Is actually quite observant and will remember the little things about someone
Hides the fact she knows about Disney and how much TWST resembles many aspects of it
Past
She grew up in the modern day wizarding world but since she’s a squib, she went to regular school
Due to this, other than her household being magical she had a relatively normal life, even able to use electronics since she didn’t have any magic for them to interfere with
Knows of the Harry Potter main characters due to them still being prominent figures or in the history books
Spent a lot of time in the library reading about the fae
Any myths, legends and stories about them she could get her hands on and so she knows a lot about them and has memorised their formal way of speaking as well as the rules
Was a bit of a social outcast in school
Because of her bookish nature, tendency to correct people if they were wrong about something, often putting her foot in her mouth and also her inclination to isolate herself due to having to hide her knowledge of the wizarding world
Her parents are not unkind but they tend to neglect her a bit since she isn’t magical and can’t really participate in a lot of aspects of their lives
Her family is not super well off or anything, they would be considered upper middle class
She has visited Japan multiple times due to her heritage, as well as Finland, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Russia, California and New York
She was a theatre kid middle through secondary school but only tech
Acting or being up on stage is not something she’s super into though she is somewhat okay with it when it's show choir or something along those lines
Isn’t much for parties though she did go to a number of cast parties in secondary school
But usually didn't stay long because loud music gives her a headache
She had a couple friends in secondary school that she hung out with but wasn’t super close to them since she had to hide half of herself from them and couldn’t ever invite them over
She was a prefect at her secondary school and could have been head girl with her grades but decided not to be
Mostly spent her time reading, playing TTPRGS online, watching fantasy movies/shows, The D&D show Critical Role, C-dramas and riding rollercoasters when she could
She has a kneazle named Da Qing after the character from Guardian
She really misses him and often thinks about him
She has art prints of the Mighty Nein and Vox Machina as well as a stuffed Frumpkin and Trinket
Fun Facts
She has always been a bit envious of her brother but never got the levels of Petunia and Lily levels of antagonism
She and her brother are not close but are amicable
She likes listening to celtic or pop and hates heavy metal or screamo
Her favourite Disney movies are The Black Cauldron, The Cat From Outer Space, Treasure Planet, The Aristocats and Beauty & The Beast
If she had to pick only one, it probably would be The Black Cauldron
She loves cats but doesn’t dislike dogs
She enjoys petting them but hates how slobbery they are and always wipes her hand off when she’s done petting them
Her relationship with Grim is akin to Molly and Beau’s relationship from Critical Role. They annoy each other to death and are always picking on each other but when it comes down to it, they will have each other’s backs
Love languages are Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch. She prefers herself Physical touch and Acts of Service
She doesn’t have any bedroom experience but if she did, she’d most likely be a switch once she learned a bit more than just the in theory knowledge she has
Other Things
Lizzie is somewhat similar to the game Yuu but is quite different in many aspects.
She is inspired by Belle (BATB), Eilonwy (Black Cauldron), Hermione Granger (Harry Potter), A little bit of Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)
Her darker personality traits are inspired by Queen Grimhilde
If she had been able to go to Hogwarts she would definitely be in Slytherin
Had she not fallen for Vil, her secondary love interest would be Malleus as they are both quite similar in their interest in reading, history and both deeply understand what it's like to be alone in a room full of people and being isolated
Though obviously they won’t be getting together in the story though they will be friends
Elisabeth is an alternate spelling of Queen Elizabeth’s name, used since she’s half English. She's also in universe, named after Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice. Her middle name is taken from the character in Sword Art Online. It seemed appropriate since Asuna is also someone who is isekaied in a way and I wanted her to have the Japanese connection besides just her last name. Asuna also translates to Apple Tree which I liked for it's connection to Vil and Snow White’s story

BOTSWANA
DAY ONE
I flew in from Morocco to Gaborone, Botswana. The first thing I did when landing in Gaborone is make my way to my Airbnb. I chose to stay at a little tiny home cottage that cost 1915.65 BWP (Botswana Pula) (139 USD) per night.
Tumblr media
After checking in, I went to the National Museum and Art Gallery. It was an 11-minute walk from my Airbnb. In Botswana, the most common form of transportation is bus, but since the distance was so short, I took a walk. Opened to the public in 1967, the National Museum and Art Gallery was made to show off African artwork and culture. The museum tries to promote lesser known artists as opposed to super famous ones. In 2007, the museum added a botanical garden. They show history in Africa in the museum, with displays such as oxcarts and traditional thatched houses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the museum, I walked to Nandos Main Mall. I decided to get a Nando's Salad, which was 55 BWP (3.99 USD) and the burger meal with fries, and that costed 93 BWP (6.75 USD). My tab was 148 BWP and I tipped the waiter 14.8 BWP, as 10% is the customary in Botswana.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though I ate in The Main Mall, I decided not to shop. The Main Mall is the biggest tourist attraction in Gaborone. Instead, I went to The Three Dikgosi Monument. Built in September 2005, this monument shows three 18ft tall Dikgosi (chiefs) who played roles in Botswana's independence from Great Britain: Khama III, Sebele I, and Batheon I. In 1895, the three Dikgosi went to Great Britain to demand freedom, but they didn't until 1960, but that was way sooner than what it would have been if the three Dikgosi didn't talk to them. Even though Great Britain had control of Botswana for 75 years, their effect on the country was actually minimal, and they didn't destroy the pre-existing culture when they took over. That is why so much of Botswana culture is so prevalent today.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the monument, I went back to my Airbnb.
DAY TWO
Today in Botswana I wanted to explore religion in Botswana. Located a 2-minute drive away from my Airbnb was Trinity Church. The official religion of Botswana is Christianity, even though only 20% practice the religion. The remaining 80% practice various different religions. The main form of Christianity practiced is Protestantism. Christianity got its start in Botswana in 1812, and it was quickly adopted. Christian holidays are the only public holidays celebrated. The smallest religion is Hinduism, with 0.3% of the population practicing it. There are only 5 Hindu temples located in Botswana. There are some traditional African religions practiced, those being Badimo and Modimo. Badimo doesn't believe in gods or demigods, but they do believe in "living dead." The word 'Badimo' translates from Sotho-Tswana, and it means ancestors. Modimo is the name of the god that the Tswana worship. Modimo translates to "the high one" in Lesotho Sesotho. Tswana isn't really a religion in itself, it is instead the name of a Bantu ethnic group native to Botswana. The constitution of Botswana protects the peoples' freedom of religion, and forced conversion is against the law.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of laws and the legal system, Botswana has a Dutch-Roman law system. Dutch-Roman is an uncodified legal system, which means that it is absent from legislative statutes and existing only by virtue of the common law. The most common crime in Botswana is pickpocketing. Locals recommend carrying your backpack in front of you instead of on your back. You should also sit with your belongings close by.
After the church, I decided to get something to eat. The national dish of Botswana is Seswaa and it's a meat stew served over polenta or pap. Polenta is an Italian dish that is just yellow cornmeal, while pap is a porridge made from maize.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After eating I traveled to Kgale Hill, a famous tourist attraction in Gaborone. Kgale Hill translates to "The Place that Dried Up" in the countries national language of Setswana and is now nicknamed "The Sleeping Giant. Kgale Hill is 4,222ft above sea level. The hill takes an hour and 35 minutes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the 3 hour hike it took to do up and down, I decided to head home before my flight out tomorrow. See you in Oceania!

Beware of Rainbow Washing!
Pride Month just got over, and brands couldn’t get enough of it with the beautiful rainbow colours and scores of artistic creativity; starting from Burger King’s Pride Whopper with ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ buns and lusciously chopped vegetables to a variety of limited edition tie-dye rainbow prints and other rainbow-coloured garments. I, too, wanted to flaunt such merchandise as a proud ally and own it. However, it struck me, am I being rainbow washed?
Tumblr media
But first, why is Pride Month celebrated throughout June? Pride Month is celebrated to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in USA, which began in the last week of June 1969 and paved the way for the Lesbian, Gay, and Transgender Communities’ fight for equal rights. The police raided the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village, a common gathering place for the young and old members of the LGBT community. These protests went on for five long days. On November 2nd, 1969, the idea of a march in response to the riots was proposed at the Eastern Regional Conference of Homophile Organizations in Philadelphia. On June 28th, 1970, a year after the Stonewall Riots, they marched through Christopher Street which became the epicentre of the riots and June 28th came to be known as the Liberation Day. The theme was ‘gay pride,’ and the slogan “Say it clear, say it loud. Gay is good, gay is proud” could be heard everywhere. Later, the month of June was officially recognized by Bill Clinton in 1999, followed by Barack Obama declaring June as the ‘LGBT Pride Month.’ it is the current President Joe Biden, who went a notch ahead and declared it as the ‘LGBTQ+ Pride Month’ to include everyone from the vast community. Many countries have followed suit and today June is celebrated as Pride Month globally with Kolkata’s 1999 Pride March being India’s first.
With a painful yet rich history to this celebration, brands have been seen to misuse it to their benefit. Rainbow washing, as the act is named, is where brands use Pride Month and take incidental advantage of the various colours it represents, by benefitting from the false inclusive marketing of its products. These companies are merely marketing this month for their own profits while in reality they may not believe in diversity or inclusion or worse still, indulge and support anti-LGBT practices. This is similar to Greenwashing (companies lying/falsely marketing their products to be sustainable and environmentally friendly by changing logos/banners etc. to shades of green, brown or yellow) or Pinkwashing (brands that misleadingly use the pink ribbon logo that symbolizes support for breast cancer charities). Not only is it wrong in the sense that it conveys a false message and outrightly lies to its customers, but also that it dilutes the underlying message and intention of Pride month.
Let’s examine the two examples given above. Burger King had to issue an apology for its widely criticized advertisement of the ‘Pride Whopper’ as it spoke about having two ‘tops’ and two ‘bottoms’ and hence completely misrepresented sex in the LGBT community. People called it an entirely tone-deaf campaign while marketing the ‘matching top buns.’ Bewakoof.com came out with a wide range of quirky rainbow-coloured products during the month. However, a deep dive into their history showed a grossly homophobic meme in 2015, which was taken down after an uproar by blogger Divya Roop. “Save the girl children or else 25 years later your son will come home and say Asha to mili nahi so Ashish le aya”. For a campaign meant to spread the message of ‘Save the Girl Child’, a homophobic route was taken. While the company had apologized for this marketing tactic, it gives an insight into the double standards. These brands latch on to this exclusive opportunity yearly and then forget about it for the rest of the 11 months. What we must ask is, do we really want to spend extra money on such ‘limited edition products?
Mansi Shanbag, a Lead Copywriter at WATConsult, very clearly says, “BRANDS ALWAYS WANT TO BREAK CLUTTER. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO PRIDE MONTH, THEY ARE ALL ABOUT SPAMMING. It is so very easy to stick a rainbow on your product, your logo, your name for a month and do absolutely nothing to actually contribute to the movement”. Companies should consult queering personalities and listen to their opinions before they can prove their allyship to the LGBT community.
Acko released an advertisement starring Neeraj Kabi in 2021 to promote its pride campaign. The ad showed him changing his social media profile picture to the colours of the pride and then proudly showing that off to his friends. His friends pat him on his back, assuming he had accepted his son’s sexual identity. This leaves him speechless as he tries to accept and digest this reality. “Post pride, Support pride, but more importantly, be ready to accept Pride” was Acko’s slogan. To ally with the community is not to merely flaunt its colours but also to readily accept and empathize with the soul of the idea. Are we ready to do that in the non-pride months?

National Egg Day
National Egg Day on June 3 finds eggs finally breaking out of their shell.
Eggs  had some tough years as health experts fretted about the high cholesterol content. But after a revision of the American Heart  Association’s guidelines in 2000, the health benefits of eggs seemed to  outweigh the concerns. The AHA says healthy adults can enjoy an egg per  day and easily remain within the daily cholesterol limit.
Also, a  single egg has only 75 calories, which is great for those looking to  lose weight. And the seven grams of protein in an average egg almost  makes this a superfood with a great calorie-to-protein ratio. So those  of us who are big fans of poached, scrambled, over easy, hard-boiled,  fried, sunny-side-up, or soft-boiled eggs can feel free to use National  Egg Day to utter that timeless phrase, “How do you want your eggs?” And  it doesn’t matter if it’s 7am, 7pm, or somewhere in between.
Eggs are great to eat anytime … or any day, for that matter.
National Egg Day timeline
Neolithic AgeWhich Came First?
Archaeological evidence for egg consumption dates back to this period.
1400 B.C.Earliest Records
Fowl lay eggs for human consumption as early as 1400 B.C., according to records from Egypt and China.
300 B.C.What an Idea!
Chicken farmers start incubating chicken eggs in warm clay ovens.
1920sPrimitive Methods
Eggs are still mostly farmed in backyards.
National Egg Day Activities
Try eating a non-chicken egg
Try a new recipe with eggs
Emphasize eggs in your day’s activities
Although  Americans primarily eat chicken eggs, that’s not the case in all  cultures. Pheasant, quail, goose, gull, and turkey eggs are all popular  to eat around the world, offering a slightly different taste from  chicken eggs. Consider trying duck eggs, which have more of an orange  and blue tint to them. Do you need more food at breakfast? An emu egg is  equal to about 12 chicken eggs, while an ostrich egg is equal to about  24 chicken eggs.
Don’t  let National Egg Day slip away without cooking a new egg recipe.  Consider trying an egg recipe from another culture, such as huevos  Mexicana, oyakodon (from Japan), or the French "omelet au boudin de  Nancy." (Every French recipe just naturally sounds great.)
Eggs  aren’t just for eating on this day. Consider visiting the local zoo and  see if you can learn more about birds and eggs in nature. Build a  birdhouse with a transparent plastic back so you can see the eggs and  the hatchlings as they develop. And because it’s June, consider playing  Mythbusters at home and testing whether it’s hot enough to fry an egg on  the sidewalk.
Why We Love National Egg Day
Arts & eggs
They can be prepared so many ways
They're good for the brain
Although  most people crack the egg shell over the frying pan and don’t think any  further about it, uncracked eggshells are great for crafts. Of course,  at Easter time, many people paint and decorate hard-boiled eggs. But you  can use eggs in arts and crafts at other times too. Hollowed out eggs  of all sizes — from ostriches to robins — are used in home crafts and  decorations. Just make sure you hollow out the egg first.
We  feel pretty confident in saying that, no matter how much you love  eating egg dishes, you haven’t tried every possible way to cook eggs.  (And if you’re sure you have, you should apply to be the permanent CEO  of National Egg Day.) Eggs can be cooked alone or placed in other  dishes. Because nearly every culture incorporates eggs into its cuisine,  the number of worldwide egg recipes is almost endless.
Nutritionists  have not only found that the nutritional value of eggs outweighs their  cholesterol level, but that eggs have a positive effect on brain  development and on memory enhancement. The nutrient, choline, which is  similar to the family of B- vitamins, plays a part in the process of  developing signaling molecules in the brain. This means moms should hide  the sugary breakfast cereal when it's test day at school for the kids;  go with eggs instead!

IMF-programma showcase of bedrog?
Tumblr media
Kenneth Sukul Read the full article

Capable of being used for any of our catering options. Including burger and chips, gin/prosecco and a multitude of desserts. Oh, and the name? Whilst arguing over what to call it we happened to be listening to a Country and Western station and a Red Sovine song came on, called, yup, Giddyup Go! Our Little Vintage Trike Not really  food truck hire, but for smaller spaces or venues, the trike is a fabulous option. Obviously it isn't big enough to serve burger and chips, but if you want Pimms, ice cream, strawberries and cream or our other dessert options then this ticks all the boxes. The large freezer section and parasol provide plenty of space for branding options if you are running a promotional event. Go on don't be a plonker, you know it makes sense. Betsy Another of our quirky options designed for beverages, desserts or smaller mains serving. The roof flips up allowing the staff to cook and serve a selection of treats for your event. The body of the camper provides a perfect branding opportunity for sales and promotion.
