Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to the weekend!

As I always say to my students, “Social networking is NOT just about posting stuff!” The clue is in the words. Social networking is all about being sociable and actually talking to people! Don’t just click ‘like’ or ‘love’, if you’ve got a moment, leave a comment! If you want to improve the size and quality of your network, you will have to make an effort! And here’s a revolutionary idea: if you’re reading my status, check out the people behind the comments on my status! Yesterday’s status about the lovers rock scene really stimulated the juices! An amazing cast of characters left a large number of reflective, insightful and touching comments. Who are these people? Click on their profiles and check them out! My friends are the best! But don’t come with any foolishness! These are proper people!

According to the government website (, “A support bubble is a close support network between a household with only one adult or a household with one adult and one or more people who were under the age of 18 on 12 June 2020 in the home (known as a single-adult household) and one other household of any size.” It doesn’t specify where the other household should live (it advises “locally”) and it doesn’t specify how often the two households can see each other. Open to interpretation, I would say? You see? The value of words.

At this time of year, people are giving me good Christmas present ideas. My beautiful friend Francesca Aidoo is offering ‘pamper hampers’: I’ll take one of those! And my beautiful friend Charlotte Rabin will mail delicious, moist loaf cakes to your intended recipient More good ideas in the coming days!

Look forward to your company tomorrow afternoon at 1.00pm for ‘The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music’. The Letter U (Part Two.) The Letter V (Part One) next week! Have a fabulous and funky Friday! I love you all. And, remember, if you’ve read one of my books and enjoyed it, please go back to Amazon and leave a review. Fanx!

Hi, people!
May I introduce Elya, my Tiefling? She’s related to a winged devil, hence the wings instead of a tail. This picture was… a while… in the making. She actually lost the Sunblade in the meantime, I’ll do an updated pic of her… eventually. A different one.The lighting in this was tricky, and I ended up winging it for the most part. All in all, I love how the composition came out, with the forest framing her and the fire and light around her drawing the eye.I also really like the blue nightmare she’s sitting on.
Elya is a lot of fun to play. She’s a Bard… for the most part. Unfortunately, she never got to ride a Nightmare in game… yet. She gets up to other shenanigans with her friends. Right now, she’s stuck in Hell on a family visit.
Tell me what you think.
See you later, Miaikon

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day.

Today’s status is dedicated to Carroll Thompson, Janet Kay, Victor Romero Evans, Louisa Mark, Jean Adebambo (RIP), Sandra Cross, Donna Rhoden, Matumbi, Legato, The Cool Notes, Claudia Fontaine (RIP), Winston Reedy, The Investigators, Junior English, Brown Sugar, Trevor Hartley, 15 16 17, Prediction, Peter Hunnigale, Michael Gordon, Kofi, Paulette Tajah, Trevor Walters, Marie Pierre, Erica Gale, John McLean, Lorna Gee, Sylvia Tella, The Administators, Arema, Keith Douglas, The Instigators and all the British acts that forged the lover’s rock sound in the seventies/eighties, and made very little money from it!

This status is also dedicated to all the house party sound system men that strung up their boxes in the afternoon and, long after everyone had gone home and gone to sleep, these men would still be packing away their gear in some garage or lock-up, possibly 14 or 15 hours later and, only then, could they relax, get into bed and sleep. For how much money? Split between four or five people? £3 an hour, if they were lucky!

This status is also dedicated to all the people that went to soul and reggae house parties in the seventies and eighties, impeccably dressed, behaved themselves, had a good time, had a few drinks, ate some food, laughed with old friends, made a new friend or two and, in the early hours, came home (relatively) sober with their clothes slightly crushed and sweaty but still looking smart!

To all those that worked so hard to establish a lover’s rock scene in the UK, I salute you! It was a labour of love. Nobody got rich. These artists and sound men worked hard to entertain people into the wee, small hours because they loved the music. It spoke to them. It moved them. And lovers of lover’s rock know how important that music still is to this day. I married a girl that sang in a lover’s rock group and she knows the words to every song from that era. Good times!

Have a throbbing and thrusting Thursday (with hopefully a few thrills through your thoroughfare?) I love you all. And, remember, if you’ve read one of my books and enjoyed it, please go back to Amazon and leave a review. Fanx!
