Atmakaraka series - Part 1

Atmakaraka is the planet with the highest degree in the birth chart.

Short note : atmakaraka can give good or bad results depending on the strength of the atmakaraka planet.

Atmakaraka in 1st house:-

In this life the person needs to take care of themselves and focus on their own development.

Sun atmakaraka in 1st house- I like this one the most, I have only met 1 person with this placement, and she's so charming. I feel like people just see them as a leader. Sun is in one of the best positions here and people who have this placement definitely have a high self-confidence unless the sun is aspected by a malefic planet. It's also very easy for these people to focus on themselves. (now that I think about it, I really don't remember any celebrity having this placement, or maybe I've just forgotten, I'll have to check again, and then make a separate post about it because people who have it just have this "I know I'm the best" kind of vibe, you know???)

Moon atmakaraka in 1st house - I have noticed that people who have this are very sensitive, they try to hide their feelings but they are unable to do so. You know when you ask someone if they are okay and then they start crying and say "Nope, I'm okay, everything's fine" and you can SEE that they're not fine, that situation reminds me of this placement. People with this should definitely meditate, and Journaling can help too, and share your feelings with your friends or family. You guys need to learn how to control your emotions and deal with them in a healthy way. (also, not to generalise but be careful when dating a guy who has moon atmakaraka in 1st conjunct Mars because one of my friend was dating a guy with it and let's just say he was.... Aggressive)

Mercury Atmakaraka in 1st house - yooo, I'm so jealous of people with this, you know those people who start studying 1 day before an exam and still manage to score 90+, yup its them. I know a person with this placement who always has such "controversial" opinions but when you listen to why he thinks that, they make so much sense, he doesn't say things just to piss people off, he actually does his research and UNDERSTANDS an issue before talking about it. If afflicted, they can be scared to express their opinions because they know that it goes against the majority. I wouldn't say just express your opinions because I know how the world is but rather make friends who have the same opinion as you and talk to them. (it's okay if you hate Colleen Hoover, I'm with you)

Venus atmakaraka in 1st house - I know 3 people with this placement and their fashion sense is just WOW, not just fashion sense but design sense in general. So I know a girl with this placement, and she lives in a super tiny studio apartment but when you enter, it feels like the house is HUGE, because of the way she has designed it, placed the furniture and the colors that she has used. I also see a lot of people saying that people with this are extroverted and love the company of others but I don't think it's true for everyone. The studio apartment girl is super shy, she doesn't like going to parties or interacting with other people, she mostly keeps to herself. If afflicted, these people can have low self esteem and they can wear baggy clothes because they don't feel confident enough to wear the clothes that they really WANT to wear.

Mars atmakaraka in 1st house - so I know a person with this placement (that person is me), who loves playing sports, people who have it can be very athletic and be interested in activities like hiking and trekking, I also know another person who has this placement and she HATES working out, but she also has a very hard time controlling her anger, because there's no outlet, so when she's angry she just starts yelling and hitting people or just starts crying in the middle of nowhere, I used to be like this, but it got better once I started doing muay Thai and fencing, it's because all of my anger was being used in that. They can also feel their blood boiling when reading about social issues and it can make them really angry to read about things that they don't agree with, and listen to people who don't agree with them(like if someone tells me feminism is not needed anymore, I'm resorting to violence because WHAT THE FUCK??)

Jupiter atmakaraka in 1st house - these people are the definition of "mom friend", they are really good at giving advice and they are good at teaching as well, I have noticed. I have a friend who has this placement and she would teach me maths 1 week before the exam because our teachers were shit, and I would always score well because of how nicely she would teach me the concepts. She also convinced her mother to divorce her husband, and she was literally like "If you take this decision, I'll be with you, we'll figure something out don't worry. But if you don't leave him, then I'll leave and you can suffer alone", 💀, this may seem harsh but her mom needed to hear that. They can also unfortunately become the victims of parentification.

Saturn atmakaraka in 1st house - (everyone who has Saturn atmakaraka deserves a hug). They can be very pessimistic and can give up on things very easily, they can feel like no matter how hard they work they never get good results. I know a person with this, who would study SO hard, like stay in the library for HOURS only to get very low marks. I know that Mars is considered a malefic planet but in this case, if your Saturn is in conjunction with Mars then your situation becomes so much better, like no matter how many times you fail, YOU WILL NOT GIVE UP, and then, in the end, Saturn will give the best result because Saturn wants you to never give up, it wants you to fall and fall again but still complete the race and Mars, in this case, becomes the hand that helps you get up when you fall.

The characterizations in this one are clear and feel very real, the tangled emotions and the potential catastrophes falling slowly into something terrible and wonderful and complex. Alex's involvement in the whole ordeal turns it into a wonderful exploration of the 2019 rookies.

Lewis was right, ultimately, George thinks; his only consolation is that it isn’t Alex who he’s going to destroy, who’s going to destroy him. Maybe Lando is a little more oblivious, but — no, no, he knows they will consume each other and themselves, if not this year then next, if not the next then not long after. Nico still floats around the paddock on race weekends like a lost moon, still interviews Lewis with longing heavy in his voice. Lewis speaks to him like he would any other reporter. George doesn’t want to do that to Lando, either. He doesn’t want Lando to do that to him. “Thrilled, of course, Lando’s a good mate,” he tells the press, with vacant eyes and a fixed smile. “No one deserves the Merc drive more than him.”

In this magical realism AU, Lando and Oscar are both still McLaren drivers, with one small twist: they both have powers. The worldbuilding in this fic was exceptional: vivid and so well developed, I could picture it all unfolding before my eyes. Both Lando and Oscar's powers fit them so well, and I love how the author carefully built the development of their relationship around them becoming more comfortable with each other's abilities. Despite all powers, though, they are still so very Lando and Oscar at the core of this fic, and I loved the characterisation and writing so much.

But now that Lando is the senior driver, he's supposed to be the one who handles his feelings with maturity, not hopelessly crushing on a younger rookie. This isn't ogling handsome Carlos from afar; he wants to wrap Oscar in a blanket and make him hot chocolate and know that he's okay. He wants to see Oscar smile not just because it's pretty but because he genuinely cares about his happiness. That part is new.

Daniel discovers Max's Twitch stream and quickly becomes obsessed with them. This fic explores Max and Daniel getting to know each other and learn each other. I really liked the Max characterisation in this. Very direct but also very open to learn. One of my favourite parts is the mod group chat and how it serves as extra information for the reader, set's the tone nicely and helps you understand the overal context of Max and Daniel.

Max wants to roll their eyes at Daniel fishing for compliments but they contain themself. “Yes, very handsome. So handsome I cannot believe he picked me.”

I Know Your Name (But Not Who You Are) by @wanderingblindly | Charles/Max | T | 7.7k

Charles isn't in Monaco anymore, instead, now he's in Arizona. He's suffered loss at the hands of racing. Max turns up unexpectedly. Great fic if you want to cry and sob and scream into your pillow at 2 am! Amazing writing that just makes you want to lie in bed and contemplate life :) this is such an underrated fic!

There’s not another soul in the desert, just the brief rustle of an autumnal breeze ghosting along the loose earth. But behind Charles’s eyelids, in the space between him and the world above, it’s them. It hasn’t been them in a long time, he hasn’t let himself think of it. He isn’t running from anything, fluttering from city to city, crossing oceans he never touched as a boy. He’s searching, maybe, for a place where the wind can blow it all away. The sun feels warm as he raises his arm, fingers outstretched as he tries to hold that boundless blue in his palm.

It's 2022, Sebastian is driving for Aston Martin when their new team principal is announced – Nico Rosberg. The author said it best herself – this fic is all about "the absolute fantasy of being the villains favourite girl". And Nico makes a lovely villain, snarky and a bit pretentious but with the ability to back up his words and make his promises reality. I especially love Seb's character arc, starting with 2022!Seb, reluctantly forced to accept that his world champion days are over, to then finding his spark again under Nicos guidance and returning back to his charming, selfish, index-finger-in-the-air ways. Really they are both absolute assholes in this but thats what makes them perfect for each other.

“I’m here for the same reason you are,” he says, megawatt smile back on his face. “To win you a title.”Seb sits back in his seat, grinning bitterly. “Don’t let Stroll hear you say that. The only reason he bought this team is to try to get a title for his son. I’m just here to play mentor until they build us a car one of us can win with, and then he’ll turn me loose.” He doesn’t add, just like Ferrari did. He doesn’t have to.Nico scoffs. Seb’s met so few people who actually scoff in real life. “Lance Stroll,” he says, disdain dripping around every consonant, “is never winning a title. You still could, though, and you know it. You’d have retired if you didn’t think so.” Seb opens his mouth, prepared to contradict him, and Nico silences him with a wave of his hand. “Don’t give me your go-to line about the love of the sport. You’ve only ever been here for one reason. The media might forget, you might even want them to forget, but I know what you’re really like.”“And what’s that?” Seb asks. Against his better instincts, and even though he knows Nico can’t have a single good motive for being here, he’s intrigued by whatever Nico’s about to say. Nico’s always been an enigma to him, Nico’s opinion of him doubly so.“You’re ruthless,” Nico says, almost in a whisper. “You’re brutal, and ambitious, and you’ll do whatever you have to to take everything you want.”

Rabbit, Rabbit (it takes a village) by @481boxboxbaby | Lando/Oscar | M | 25k

Oscar wakes up to find four baby bunnies in his shower. In the world of this story, that's as good as peeing on a stick. This boy is knocked up, and there are six possible baby daddies. This is a sweet, funny and heartfelt fic that takes a cracky idea (magic bunnies means you're pregnant) and treats it seriously. Oscar is definitely a bit of a pillow princess and good time guy - that's why he has bunnies - and the fic follows his journey of self discovery, growing as a person along the way and learning that knowing himself is far more important than knowing who the daddy is. The guy who steps up, and who Oscar chooses in the end, is maybe a little unexpected but it absolutely worked for me.

“Oh,” Oscar blushes a fierce shade of red. “We’re not a throuple. They’re just friends. I mean, maybe one of them is the other father but - um - that’s sort of the thing.” The midwife raises an eyebrow and cocks her head to the side, waiting for him to go on. Oscar instead looks at Liam and Logan, desperate for one of them to bail him out. “You see, there’s a roster,” Logan says, his expression awfully serious like he’s trying to be as tactful as possible, even if he did just start off by outing Oscar as a hoe.

As it turns out he was hurt from a fight against some outlaws, so feeling bad at the sight of him trying to treat himself with one arm, you decided to help him out

Your kind gesture touched his heart which led to him frequently visiting you everytime he comes back from a dangerous trip

Just imagine you're outside sweeping the front porch and then you hear him call out your name which you look up to see him waving at you with a toothy smile

It was almost like he considered you his personal nurse as you're the one he always goes to when he's hurt anywhere

When talking to him, you found his behaviour strange since he always talked to you in a rhythmic way, but you also found it amusing

It didn't take long for Rhys to start developing feelings for you since he was very much attracted to you and enjoyed spending every second he could with you

Once he was sure he had a crush, he would start to get you pretty things he found when he's out exploring.

"Look! I got you this! 😊" He'd say with his hand holding out a beautiful yellow flower.

Loves it soso much when you thank him but if you're awkward with receiving gifts, a simple smile is enough to send him over the moon

Would definitely introduce you to his bird mount, 'Plumecharger' who took a while to finally warm up to you

Will also let you feed his bird, his hand would be guiding yours towards the beak very slowly to get them to trust you more, but secretly he was liking the feel of your hand in his

If we're talking about flirting, this man has no idea how to, his vocabulary is already struggling itself so his only way of showing love would be lots of gift gifting and spending quality time together

He had given you so much gifts that you needed to install another shelf to store them

Your personal favourite would be a flower crown he had tried to make himself, the work was a bit sloppy as some of the flower stems were poking out or been worn out from his constant struggle to tie it together. But hey, it's the thought that matters!

I'd like to think that this man would go around asking his friends how to make the first move which resulted in him getting mixed ideas

While dating Rhys, he would always follow you around the village when he's not busy with his line of work

Lots of the villagers found it cute how he was always trailing behind you like a poodle. If you're buying groceries for dinner, he's willing to help you hold the basket to show you how much of a big boy he is 😼

If you're up for it, he's willing to teach you how to ride Plumecharger, of course he'll be close-by and ready to catch you if you get knocked off or anything.

He's honestly very insecure about his laugh when around you because he's scared you'll stop loving him for it so you'll have to assure him that you love his laugh very much 🥺

If you happen to be insecure on anything about yourself, he'll shower you with even more love, he really doesn't care about your imperfections, he finds you being human more perfect than anything

Dating Rhys also includes lots of dates where you guys are either out stargazing, shopping at the market or doing self care routines together, which is his favourite.

I'd also like to add that this man is SUCH A TEASE!!!!

He likes to make you pout or beg for something so he'll be one of those people who put your things high up or hidden somewhere in the house to have you ask him for help

i love ur bloodmoon thoughts sm and i agree with all of them ‼️‼️

they squandered his character sm and theres barely been any development since he got brought back to life… especially on the KC side. id love to see how youd rewrite it tbh- or if you want feel free to just use this ask as a bloodmoon thoughts dump

ALRIGHT SO We can run along with bm2 But also them going 'no their NOT the original thus we dont need to think about their charascter' as they seemingly established a bit with that but also not? Like that kinda furthers BM's whole arc of being treated like a murder machine (he was LITERALLY rebuilt for that, nothing more than tool!), and yet instead of USING THAT (which like.... we kinda got a bit of that with Eclipse, no i wont get into that.) they go 'HMNNN no, we dont wanna develop this further hes just villain' LIKE. SURE. ALRIGHT. BUT... YOU LITERALLY HAD SO MANY SET UPS WITH LIKE... His weird attachment to monty that one TIME yknow the 'hes my dad!' even tho hes not and its very debatable with Eclipse and KC depending how you wanna go about it (In terms of WHO made bloodmoon its Eclipse whos derived from KC and Moon and SUN.) Where was I YEAH HIS THEME OF NO ONE IS FAMILY BUT BLOODMOON. Only THEY understand that theyre not a tool or worthless! (Yknow just completely missing a way to use their codependence to help further their own coping of SEVERAL THINGS.) Yet he still STILL seeked out and called KC father, he still somewhat has thoughts on family. He's going after EARTH who's just vibin' trying to be accepting, even jealous of LUNAR for 1) being brought back and two) survived Eclipse and lives happily (sorta) and while begrudgingly i must say forgot bloodmoon. (WHICH LIKE. THATS THEIR OWN FAULT FOR NOT DRAGGING LUNAR INTO THAT PLOT EVEN THO HE HAD ALL THIS BLOODMOON INFO DURING THAT WHOLE THING. not used it ONCE. they purposely left lunar out of that and thats annoying. chaos sibligns 4 lyfe) Anyway you COULD so still use that in regards to Sun trying to reach out to them ('I wouldve loved another brother' will forever be brought up. also literally in the same convo sun does admit hed kill em again but WE'RE FOCUSING ON THE FAMILY PART GUYS) I'd have to scrap some like... lets see here.... UmMM i CAN use the attacking lunar thing still. Cause whole jealous thing they didnt understnad their own thoughtS (THEY THOUGHT MONTY WAS THEIR PARENT WHICH LIKE??? a stretch honestly. cmon we know this. theyre definitely making their own excuses) iDK ABOUT attacking earth, cause by that point everyone is kinda dead set on murdering them its actually pretty bad by that point unless KC comes back jesus style and goes 'NO. I'll handle this' proceeds to drag bloodmoon off into the desert for family bonding time (and rehabilitation.) Which he wont but we also gotta remember Bloodmoon is deliberately being used a scapegoat (despite yknow... he did DO all that by his volition still like he WOULD NOT have gone after kc like that if not for ruin going 'hey u wanna see ur dad who totoally didnt care for ur ass' or 'you should totally go kill a bunch of people. and then threaten lunar and earth BUT WAIT no killing ill shock u!' im losing focus but THEY WERE... sort of going somewhere with Bloodmoon not wanting to be a tool. AND having solar interfere (I still hate that whole 'he reminds me of my moon thus he must die'. Retcons... everywhere. Remember when he wanted to save his moon?? yeah? cool cause ill never forget that actually.) KC dying actually WOULDNT have been so bad (aside the... suddenly being an ass about it. But he was direct to bloodmoon about 'BRUH UR BEING USED.' and them never actually... bringing that up too much) angering BM enough to kill KC is actually pretty solid way to use the whole 'Bm not satisfied with Killing' as a very direct way KC's words last on BM especially BM's whole unstable emotions of NOT understanding the feelings theyre going through because of that other than anger (denial, grief, confusion and conflict of how Hurt that mustve been they wanted more family) oh this is getting long and im losing focus.

#anyway. love the idea that u could USE the fact theyre not the original as a whole them coping with their emotions 'we are better!' but like #hes got more trauma than the og by this point #already IMPLANTED the moment they were made #sams bloodmoon #ill... we'll come back eventually

Some of my fav placements pt. 2⚡️

(Quick note: My learning has progressed so here’s my fav placements as of rn!🥂)

• Sun • Scorpio, Aquarius, Capricorn, Gemini, Cancer & Leo!

Scorpio suns just feel like family! They can be nice/generous to a fault. Their sun falls in my 5th/6th house cusp and that’s funny because I see them as fiery and dramatic yet they’re also very caring and protective so it’s a big yes. 🙌🏽

Aquarius suns are literally the coolest! I can’t express how much I love you guys!! Literally always down for anything and hella open minded and I love that! They have this way of making others feel included in stuff even if they’re not that close with the person.

Capricorn suns where do I start? Their generosity is often overlooked. They’re the types to give without asking for anything in return. They’re also very caring even if it doesn’t show. These people tend to have big hearts and are also no bullsh!t type people.

Gemini suns.. I always tend to feel a fast connection with these people (their sun falls in my 12th/1st house cusp). Most of them are sweet and understanding, have bright ideas and hilarious laughters! I feel like I can talk to them about anything & everything because they’ll understand and then add onto it lol.

Cancer suns are so energetic and child-like and I’m so here for it!! Their sun falls in my 1st/2nd house & I know some other Cancer suns who are very chill and strive for stability above anything. They’re also very fun to be around and are great listeners!!

Leo suns are so nice!! Yes they might be brutally honest when calling you out but they’ll also look out for you and stick up for you no matter what! I love how unapologetically upfront they are! They can also seem a little distant at first but when they get attached to you it’s game over! • Moon • Aries, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Libra, Scorpio & Taurus!

Aries moons are smarter than given credit for! They’re very playful and very upfront. Have loud laughs and love trolling others for fun.😂 They’re also sweet people.💕

Sagittarius moons are actually pretty chill and charming in public but won’t back down from a debate/fight. I can’t express how alive and understood I feel with these people!! They’ve got stories for days and love laughing & lecturing others!

Aquarius moons’ detached yet daring demeanor is so attractive!! 😩 Also the goofiness is never ending!! Name me an Aquarius moon who doesn’t have an elite sense of humor I’ll wait.😂

Libra moons have cute smiles/laughters and are also funny people!! They give off 50% balanced / 50% chaotic energy lol. This one Libra moon I know has always wanted this cookie cutter, traditional relationship and I think that’s very Libra moon-like! Also, y’all feel like sisters to me!💗

Astarion x Ace!Tav Masterlist (for reference)

That’s the thing, I think Tav believes they have a solid grasp on what Astarion’s “deal” is

He’s a flirt and a rake and just wants to get into their pants, nothing serious is going to happen there

The problem is, they like his flirting

They like having his attention, and being able to joke around

And at first that’s all it is, just an excuse to banter and have some fun

The thing is Astarion isn’t exactly subtle about his “desires” and so eventually Shadowheart would approach Tav like, “so I’m not sure if you noticed, but Astarion definitely wants to sleep with you and clearly you like him so why haven’t you tapped that yet”

Tav would avoid the question basically telling Shadowheart that they all have more important things to deal with than who is sleeping with who, but Shadowheart isn’t buying it, still she lets sleeping dogs lie for now

She does say that there’s nothing wrong with a bit of fun, to which Tav says their definition of fun and his are two very different things

The further they get into the adventure, however, Tav starts to develop much deeper feelings for Astarion and that just makes them feel guilty for presumably stringing him along with the promise of sex that’s never going to come

They genuinely can’t tell whether or not Astarion actually cares about them or if he’s just pretending

Tav tells all this to Shadowheart, just looking for a second pair of eyes on this, are they deluding themselves?

Shadowheart can’t speak for certain about Astarion’s intentions or feelings; she does know he does spend a lot of time with Tav and actually relaxes around them in a way he doesn’t around the others, it’s possible he’s developing real feelings for Tav

However, she’s more focused on the true distress in her friend’s face and the guilt in their words

Finally she asks, “are you in love with him?”

Tav tries to brush it off, “contrary to appearances I’m not that stupid”

Shadowheart pushes it though saying, “I asked you a simple question, do you love him”

Tav finally breaks, “Yes, but don’t hold it against me. I’m a little screwy myself.”

Shadowheart is then like, “okay now that we have some truth on the table, are you planning to do anything about it?”

This is where Tav falters, because if they do something about it, it ruins the game, one they can’t help but lose every time

Shadowheart counters that they don’t know that for certain, and Tav tells her they’ve got a pretty good idea

That’s probably when they explain to Shadowheart that they are asexual and considering how obvious Astarion has been with his intentions to bed them, it can only end badly

Shadowheart is sympathetic, as she does see Tav’s feelings are genuine, but she also says then what Tav is doing isn’t fair to themselves or Astarion for that matter

They deserve somebody who is going to respect their boundaries and if they’re mooning over somebody that won’t, best they find out for certain and allow themselves to move on

Tav hears this, but it’s easier said than done

Of course, certain events speed run that long time coming conversation (read I Want It All for that story)

I admittedly need to learn a bit more about Shadowheart to say what her full opinion of their relationship is, but considering how she got a front row seat on how messily it started, I can only imagine she’s in camp, “they deserve each other because whatever shit they’ve got going on needs to be quarantined”

Hello it’s extremely late oops. Did not realize how long this thing would take (28 and a half hours apparently according to procreate lmao) but finally, here it is!

Carmen Week Day 8: La Femme Rouge

Holy crap that was a lot of characters! For day 8 I wanted to draw all the ways I've drawn/imagined Carmen over the last 5 years! There are many I didn't do for one reason or another, but it mainly boiled down to space lol. These 10 (11 including canon Carmen) are (most) of my favorites of my AUs :)

as usual, i'll gladly answer asks about em :) i have plans to write a few for sure, but it's gonna be A While for them lol

Cat:

Both a Warriors AU and also just my "_____ as a cat" style!

This ones a lot less fleshed out so just bear with me lol. (ATM there might only be 2 clans, ACME and VILE, idk yet lol. idk what to name em either cos stickin "clan" on the end don't feel right XD)

In the Warriors AU, Sheeppaw grows up learning 2 contradictory versions of the Warrior Code: The true one from Shadowstalk, and the VILE version from older warriors. She gets made an apprentice a couple moons early, but is relegated only to camp duties until shes 6 moons old.

She trains alongside Cracklepaw, Tigerpaw, Molepaw, Goatpaw, and Silentpaw. At her first gathering she meets another apprentice, maybe a few moons older, from the other clan: Jewelpaw. The two hit it off and become good friends (and develop little mutual crushes). Sheeppaw also sneaks out and meets a kittypet: Player, who she also becomes very good friends with.

When her mentor, the deputy, Shadowstalk fails her on her final warrior assessment she pretty much has most of the same reaction as the show, just in the WC style.

After witnessing a murder, she hightails it out of there and encounters the newly named Crackletail. Panicked, she hastily and vaguely tells him she saw something and needs to Leave.

She makes it to Players yard and lays low for a while, and he introduces her to the neighbor cats, a sibling pair named Zack and Ivy. The four brainstorm and Sheeppaw is renamed Carmen. They know they cant let VILE keep doing what they're doing. So rogue Carmen and her kittypet friends start figuring things out from behind the scenes.

Pirate Cat:

Exactly as it says, bipedal cat world. Black Sheep was dropped off at a random orphanage in England, with a small stuffed black sheep (where she got her name). Since everybody are cats, Black Sheep isn't that atypical of a name. Sorta a mix of normal people names and cat names.

She grows up there alongside her self-appointed older brother Graham. When she's about 10-11ish she meets the princess: Julia Argent. Childhood friends to lovers letsgoo (its a recurring theme in these lol. its cute i like it).

The two eventually get together (in secret, yay homophobia and also societal status) It doesn't help that Black Sheep had a habit of getting in trouble so she could see the princess her princess.

The two get caught one night, and Black Sheep is nearly executed for "corrupting royalty", but Julia manages to talk her father down from that. Instead, she is exiled. If she ever sets foot in the kingdom after dawn, she WILL be killed this time.

Julia visits one last time, and Black Sheep promises to return someday when she finds somewhere where they can be together freely. She gives Julia her stuffed sheep to look after while she's gone, and asks her to take care of Fuega while she's gone (on one of their sneak-outs, they found a baby dragon that Julia managed to convince her dad to let her keep). Julia gives her the triangle choker. yay tearful goodbyes ;-;

Black Sheep and Graham (because no way is he letting his little sister go into exile without him) go from place to place, stealing when they need to and end up accidentally stowing away on a VILE pirate ship.

VILE pirate training to avoid death, they escape. Graham appoints the newly named Carmen Sandiego captain of their little ship, and they also pick up Zack, Ivy, and Player along the way. Carmen becomes very well known around the globe: civilians/lower class people see her as a Robin Hood hero (correct), while most royals and nobles see her as nothing but a filthy pirate (incorrect).

A few years go by when suddenly the crew gets word that the King of England is trying to marry off his daughter, who has recently come of age. Cue panicked race home + childhood lover reunion.

Daughter of Poseidon (Carmen Sandiego and the Olympians):

Percy Jackson AU! Replace Percy with Carmen, Grover with Player, Annabeth with Julia, and switch/move around some plot points and that's about it lol. I keep telling myself I'll do some scene rewrites of this one so we'll see. Includes PJO and HOO acting as prequels for Carmen Sandiego. Def wanna do dome rewrites for the canon show for this AU too lol

Dino Squad:

I'm out here combining one obscure kids show with another lol. If you haven't seen it, Dino Squad is this early 2000s animated show about these 5 teenagers that get mutated and can turn into dinosaurs, and go around stopping the bad guy from turning everything into dinosaurs. (I think the entire series may be on youtube lol. its goofy but man i loved it as a kid. i wanted dino powers so bad)

This is basically a high school au but most of Team Red has dinosaur powers. :P

In this, Dr. Bellum is experimenting with bringing dinosaurs back, but instead of just cloning them, she figures out how to mutate already-existing organisms into others.

(in the OG dino squad, the bad guy IS a dinosaur that evolved into a human--long story--and believes everything should still be dinosaurs. hes technically right, tbf, if the meteor hadn't hit they prolly still WOULD be dinosaurs. why does bellum want dinosaurs? because she's Bellum and she Can lol)

Carmen Wolfe and her twin brother Graham (they're fraternal twins. why? bc i thought it would be funny. yes he still has his accent. its my world i do what i want) are raised by Carlotta and Dexter Wolfe in Kittery Point, Maine. Carlotta is a paleontologist/biologist and Dexter is a history and geography teacher at the high school. They do know of VILE and what Bellum was working on and have been monitoring it in secret from the kids.

Carmen and Julia are those friends that met bc they were both hiding under the slide in like. Preschool and just stayed friends lol. They're the kind of best friends that will just. Show Up. usually Julia at Carmen's house because "You have better snacks" also Julia's parents just Don't Like Carmen. (Why? idk bc i said so. idk they think she's a bad influence. she's really not lol) Literally Julia has like a spot on the couch and a table setting. She's basically the third twin these three have known each other essentially their entire lives.

Zack and Ivy joined the group in middle school, when Ivy had the same class as Carmen, Julia, and Gray. Zack joined via association. (Zack and Ivy, on the other hand are not twins. again. bc its funny. each sibling pair thought the other was like them. zack and ivy thought Carmen and Gray were just normal siblings, and Carmen and Gray thought Zack and Ivy were twins. Julia had to explain to all of them it was not the case lol)

Player is Carmen's online friend that the whole group includes. they all game together and he gets ALL the public school tea. hes about the same age as Zack, so about a year-ish younger than Carmen, Gray, Ivy, and Julia.

At the end of their freshman year, Carmen and Julia start dating. Their friends and Carmen's parents know, they keep it secret from everyone else. At the end of the summer everybody (aside from Player) go to the beach for one last day of freedom before school starts. They swim through the mutant goo, and over the next few days discover their powers.

Carlotta IDs each dino: Carmen is a (large/person sized) pyroraptor, Gray is a T. rex, Julia is a troodon, and I still cant decide on Zack and Ivy's dino forms lol. Carlotta and Dexter explain the whole VILE thing and the group just kinda simultaneously goes "welp guess we're superheroes now. cool"

so yea dealing w highschool and also mutant dinosaurs and superpowers. this ones fun bc they can just be stupid kids lol

The Last Wolf:

My werewolf AU. The one that started all this mess and my love for making AUs of this show. It was my first fanfic i ever wrote, and it is very near to my heart. it's also gotten out of hand and become a franchise at this point it's ridiculous. (Seriously i've got a prequel of her parents planned and also a series of shorts set in the universe) It's gonna be a long ride, boys. Hope people still like CS by the time it's done lol

A Thief's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse:

Zombie apocalypse AU! Talked about this one a bit for AU day, and also as of this post I have ~1k words written of the first chapter! I also have a bunch of the major plot points outlined too ;) I wouldn't expect anything soon tho lol.

She wears a wetsuit under the coat bc it's really hard to bite through, especially with rotten jaws. She's got some boots she probably scavenged or traded for, and of course: the Walkman she probably found looting some abandoned building. She collects cassettes to listen to. Gotta keep sane in the end of the world.

How is this one a literal apocalypse and its still more lighthearted than the one based on FNAF lol

Redd Wolf (Five Nights at Redd's):

FNAF AU. I've truly lost it lol. I have this one completely outlined, nothing written but a lot of things are VERY clear in my mind. This ones uh. a lot more intense than even Thief's Guide. It's FNAF. its immense violence and child death. Seriously, Carmen, Player, Gray, Ivy, Zack, and Julia all end up possessing animatronics at some point. It ends happily, but it is based off a horror thing so if that's not your thing b careful <3

its supposed to be more of a mystery that gets unraveled, but if anyone wants specifics of it u can drop an ask :) i only have animatronic designs for Carmen, Julia, and Gray so far tho. I have ideas for the others too.

This is one I wanna share with y'all at some point. its probably the shortest of the AUs I have outlined so far, so yk. maybe in this lifetime lol.

Carmen and the Age of Wonderbeasts:

Mega Jaguar Carmen. This ones more of a ~vibe~ than an actual plot but i like drawing mega jag carm :)

Plushie Dragon:

This one's not an AU, but actually based on doodles of these 2 plush dragons! Matching red/gold and blue/silver dragons named after carmen and julia lol. I'll get around to posting more drawings of em cause they're cute

Wings of Fire:

Wings of Fire AU! Carmen is a rainwing/skywing hybrid (rainwing dad, skywing mom) She can camoflauge, fly decently fast, and has a prehensile tail. She can't breathe fire or use typical venom, BUT she figures out her venom, while not face-melting by itself, IS in fact flammable. again, more of a ~vibe~ than a story and plot, but I like drawing dragons.

Canon Carmen:

She's front and center, the one that started all this.

Way back in 2019, the autism and ADHD departments in my brain came to an agreement: This show is the greatest show of all time.

It was the first fandom I actively contributed to/interacted with. (I still read fics from other fandoms before, but had never been active in a fandom) Like I mentioned with Last Wolf, I had never actually written fanfiction before, and definitely never posted it. I love writing and telling stories (and boy howdy do I have A Lot of stories rolling around my brain). between all of the AUs ive come up with, I've gotten to practice so much worldbuilding and characterization. English classes usually focused on expository stuff, with like. a brief fiction writing thing. So I've definitely gotten to stretch my creative writing muscles with this show, and hopefully I can put em to use on original projects someday <3

I fell in love with the first season, and got ridiculously excited for every new season and the interactive. (heck, i played every possible option for the interactive the day it came out, and binged every subsequent season the day they aired.)

This show has been a big part of my life the last five years, and the original show will always be special to me. It's the reason I started learning to draw people lol, I have a drawing of Carmen from 2020 that I'm still really proud of. It's hung on my bedroom wall to this day.

So thank you, Carmen Sandiego. For everything.

Hey Naff, hope you’ve been taking care of yourself and resting up <3 Since it’s Mermay, I’ve been doing some thinking about Mayday In Paradise! I’m curious to know what Sun, Moon, and Y/N’s second interaction is like. Does Y/N ever brave the ocean again? Is the next encounter with the mers more peaceful and relaxed? Do they end up developing a relationship in time? I’ve been wondering how the latter would work out when Y/N has to head back home, no doubt with the two lovely mers on their mind! And I’m sure it’s a stone’s throw chance of happening, but I wonder if Sun and Moon would find a way to track down Y/N to make sure they’re being good to themself. ♥️ (And totally not because they’re developing other additional feelings for them!)

This AU is just so soft and sweet and makes me smile thinking about it 💜 Hope you have a good and restful break!

Ah, I'm really happy you thought of this little one-off! It's very fitting for this month hehe

They meet again after Y/N decides to reencounter them, because what else will they do on this 2 week-long vacation but think about the two mermen that saved them? and also told them to be nice and good.

The funny thing is that I envisioned Y/N deciding to never go back 'home', not to work, and not even to see Vanessa, though they keep in contact with her. They're so inspired in that short time by Sun and Moon that they decide to start living a life they enjoy. That begins by standing on the tropical island, although that means a drastic shift in things, like quitting their job. They need to find a new gig, and a place to live that's definitely not going to be as nice and fancy as the beach house rental, but all they really care about is that their little shabby new house is right on the ocean and close enough to find Sun and Moon.

Sun and Moon have no idea that Y/N makes this choice, only that they're still here. Which is good, they need more time with this little human who has a very askew view of themselves. Totally not related, but Sun and Moon do find Y/N enchanting.

The second encounter is more peaceful. Y/N dares to swim out a good depth, choosing to ditch any vessels and going as far as they can before Sun pops up to greet them. Y/N is still uncertain, but they remember to be nice and kindly ask if Sun will help them back to shore. Sun finds it amusing: "If I didn't know better, sunshine, I'd almost think you tired yourself out on purpose just so I could float you back to shore. Hm. That would be silly, wouldn't it, friend? If you wanted to see me again, all you have to do is ask." He'll, however, let it slide since they're being so polite this time.

Y/N is a bit more desperate that night and ventures out once more but almost steps on a stingray lying in the swallows which Moon must shove them out of the way of. Needless to say, he's not happy about needing to do that in the first place. Humans should not swim in the ocean in the dark. Moon makes it clear they're not to do that again without him here. "I'm not the only thing in the water who gets hungry at night." He trusts that will Y/N be good about his little warning.

The first time Sun calls Y/N beautiful, it doesn't go well, mainly because Y/N thinks Sun is being mean and gets really hurt by this 'mean-spirited' conversation which only confuses Sun until he realizes that, oh, this goes way deeper than he initially thought. He's not going to stand swim for that.

Moon is a bit blunter about Y/N's lack of self-esteem and gets to work reminding them to not talk about themselves like that or get stuck in their head as often as they do, which may or may not involve splashes of salt water to the face, but hey, whatever works :)

baby witch here! I’m just curious, bc the question has been eating me up all day, is it possible to get help from your higher self like how you’d get help from a deity? or to even worship your higher self like a deity? or is the higher self just not as powerful as gods or other spirits?

Interesting question!

Not everyone believes in, or works with, a concept of a higher self. Personally, I'm not solid on them existing, but it's not a concept I've explored very much. So this is coming from someone who doesn't necessarily believe in, and definitely doesn't work with, a higher self.

However, there is precedent for people working with important and powerful mystical/hidden aspects of themselves. Consider the hag (am I remembering the name correctly? can't for the life of me recall) and fetch-beast of Traditional Witchcraft.

In Traditional Witchcraft, the witch may seek to discover, connect with, and work with their inner shadowy opposite (the hag), or the inherent animal beast aligned with their personal power (fetch-beast).

These inner aspects constitute parts of the witch, and may be separated from the witch, but are neither the witch nor separate from the witch.

A practitioner of Traditional Witchcraft (and similar practices) may ask their fetch-beast to go out and fulfill some special task, or ask them for a blessing, or ask them for wisdom and guidance. And so forth.

These aspects can be worshiped. I mean, you can worship anything.

Are these inner/hidden aspects more or less powerful than other gods or spirits?

I think this question is based on a fallacy - the fallacy that if something has more power it may be better to work with. I understand the sentiment. People want results, and if so far a practitioner has been hard-up for results (or hasn't really tried anything, and is just looking for the best place to start), it follows that a person might want to just sort out which entities have the most power, and go after them.

I feel confident in assuring you, however, that this is not how it works.

For one, "power" can't really be measured in simple units. We can't say that some spirit - let's say, Valley Oak - has 900 units of power, and my Higher Self only has 500 units of power, so obviously Valley Oak is my top choice.

The first and most obvious difference is that on some fundamental level my Higher Self is me, and has a deeply vested interest in me, and is a personification of my, well, highestness - all my best morality and potential.

Whereas Valley Oak is a tree.

My Higher Self might want to move mountains to do anything to help my personal growth, even if that means I need to get into a sticky situation or two in order to learn a lesson.

Whereas Valley Oak almost certainly does not care about my development, but will definitely help me hex someone. Or put down an unwanted hex.

My Higher Self may be always available to me, ready to help in the ways it deems best, with any situation I ask about.

Valley Oak might tell me it's only free on waning moons and to bring some wine or shove off.

So you see what I mean? It doesn't matter if other spirits are more or less powerful; what matters is who they are to YOU, and what they are willing to show up for, and what they are interested in doing.

Odin might have, idk, 9,000,000 units of power, but if my initiating spirit tells me I'm not allowed to talk to him, then - then what's the point of all that power, exactly? And what's Odin going to do for my hexing that Valley Oak already isn't taking care of? And why would Odin want to help me, anyway?

It may be worth asking yourself that if gods have more power than spirits, why do some people who believe in both only work with spirits?

I hope I'm doing a decent job making my point. It's a little late here.

My baby friend, I'd like to encourage you to consider something that took me too long to figure out:

It may be wise to differentiate between your sorcery and your spirituality.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking out powerful aspects, gods, and spirits with which to work sorcery and get help from. Witches do it all the time.

But you should double-check if you assume that spirits you ask for help are supposed to be the same ones you worship in a spiritual setting.

I have been enabled.

Eclipse, in short, is a mess. He copes well enough, but his insecurities have been there from the beginning - they were predestined, with how he came to be.

Sun and Moon used to have a shared mode, before they decided it would be better for their sanity to just let the other do his thing and remain in rest mode. It was a blend of their AIs, making verbal communication unnecessary. Immediate understanding and combined planning skills, it did help them out of a few pickles (though they didn't get into too many, before this job).

And technically, they can still enter that mode.

They don't, because continued use of that "Eclipse" mode, with that blend of AIs where not even their system could differentiate where one ends and one begins, caused their AI to split into three one time.

Eclipse came into existence, trapped within a mind that wasn't his own, a miracle in a way, but received with shock and hostility. Neither of them expected him, least of all he himself!

That's why he's so curious, with that insatiable thirst for knowledge. If he's possible, what else might be? What else might be out there, ready to be found? Ready to be created?

But of course, there's the insecurity. The terrible need to compete with his brothers to prove himself vs the endless fear of falling short compared to them, again and again. He got them their job but what they do he'll never be good at, he's the taller one with more limbs but his battery is spotty at best, barely keeping him together well enough. They didn't want him in their head, and he didn't want to be in their head, and they got him a rush-job of a body (that I'll get to, too). They're all happy with the separation, but none of them were happy with the need for one.

Even if everyone wants him to have his own body, it's hard not to feel rejected, hard not to feel unwanted. The lingering tension remains even after the separation, and only exacerbates the problem. They don't want him, even when he's his own person. They pushed him out, because he'll never be good enough for them. They're all he has, and he is so so scared of them never accepting him. Maybe they just tolerate him, because they feel responsible - but would they choose him, if they ever had the option? Between his existence and non-existence, which one would they opt for? He's scared to ask.

It's tense, this relationship with his brothers. He pretends to be unaffected, like any younger sibling may pretend the approval of their older, cooler siblings may not matter. But he craves it so much. He wants to be wanted, wants to be accepted, wants to be loved - who doesn't?

Sun and Moon don't hate him. They're not quite sure, at first, but he is their little (annoying) brother. They care for him, want him to be safe, and when push comes to shove, they'd help him out no question. "No you can't wear my shirt but I'll help you hide a body" sibling dynamic.

There's also some guilt, at first - he wasn't meant to exist, and his AI was a strange mix of theirs and his few own experiences. Faulty, some might say, not fully developed. But he's doing fine these days, if a little clueless about social cues and a bit too happy to set things on fire, so the guilt really disappeared. It's better for Eclipse, too - he really hated being pitied for existing.

It gets a bit better when they live apart, because they don't serve as constant reminders for each other. Eclipse still has his brothers with him - the necklace I drew him with was not a coincidence, even if he claims that "a combined Sun and Moon pendant just means Eclipse. It's a me necklace".

Still makes sure they're okay, developing gloves for them that give them that extra grip during parkour, and making sure all his little gadgets make it to them. (And if they get some confidential blueprints in the mail for their own little workshop, well, he always was loose-lipped for someone without lips) (He needs them to be okay. This is how he can make sure - and if they build his designs, well, that's approval, too, right?)

Sun and Moon also are still there for him. They play up the annoyance sometimes, but they do care for him.

Especially considering that well, his "health" issues are kind of their fault. The body was a rush job - he has "narcolepsy", or rather the animatronic equivalent. The lower his battery goes, the higher the chance that his system will recognize it as dangerously low, and push him into rest mode. He always makes sure to be fully charged for work, because even if the rest mode spells only take a few moments to a minute, it's risky in a lab environment to randomly pass out.

He's saving for a replacement - but it's slow going, with all the other repairs he necessitates and with all the fun things to buy in the world. He's just a bit of a hoarder, attracted by colorful and shiny things, and of course, anything he can fidget with.

Him and Y/N... They're good, really! But despite all the cues he misses, it's glaringly obvious that his brothers are very interested, so he just isn't. Not romantically, at least. He's not interested in fighting that battle, only losing to his brothers who live and work with them, so rather inserts himself into a unique role that his brothers don't already fill. But they like him, they accept him, and at times even seek him out - first about inventions and gadgets, then about funny stories (dirt) about Sun and Moon, and then just to chat sometimes. It reassures him that even with them in the picture, he's not out of it, partly due to their own efforts to include him

They're all four a family, with time. Having Y/N in the mix lightens the mood, and keeps them all from constantly thinking about all what was, and instead enjoy the moment, or even plan for the future.

With Moon being the only one who doesn't lie about scars, any family reunions are hell for him while he's out - because Eclipse and Y/N are just inventing crazier and crazier stories, that somehow are totally unrelated to the real cause of the scars they sport, "For the bit, Moon, it's for the bit" "He wouldn't get it, don't try" "Can't appreciate a good story. He's still mad I got creative before". By then it's not even like they try to convince anyone, they just think of it like a creative exercise!

Sun and Moon may act a little annoyed that Eclipse and Y/N get along so well, but they realize quickly that their brother isn't interested in their little rival like that, and then it's just... A relief. The two people in their life they can't imagine living without get along, why would they complain? They may enable each other, and someone should keep an eye on where the fire extinguisher is, but they're glad things are looking up for their little family, at last

And they'll all be okay, with time <3

I've been into sams for a while and I always enjoy your reactions to the show as it progresses! Your blog was actually one of the main reasons I got into it haha!

So I wanted to ask, just because I love talking about this stuff! Regarding Eclipse, what are your thoughts about a redemption arc for him?

Personally I'm very divided on the matter, because on one hand, there have been glimpses into his deepest insecurities and his weak points, and it seems to me that he is awfully lonely. But on the other hand, it really has all been his doing because time and time again he was offered chances to compromise and talk and he always preferred being petty and chose to satisfy his urges to be violent and make others suffer, so technically his loneliness is a situation of his own making and he refuses to see it.

Before he decided to kill Lunar and started to appear exclusively to try and torture Sun and Moon (which I find funny and a bit nostalgic as a return to his original messing with them in the early days), I would have thought a redemption a bit more likely, but as he has not only backstabbed everyone he decided to team up with once again, he decided to break his deal with Monty about not harming Lunar, and basically modified everyone's memories to force them into adoring him (which again goes back to him feeling lonely but thinking empty praise like that is satisfying to him), and he keeps making threats everywhere he goes, I just feel it might not be very likely at all.

There is an argument to make though, that he could have his redemption arc after all, if we take into account what Sun points out about the double standards and arbitrary rules about who is allowed to do what. But I guess in a way it's stated that Eclipse just crosses all the lines without a care. Apocalyptic levels of evil is just a whole other level I think. And there's also the matter that at this point he has basically wronged every character across all the shows.

Minus Earth in a way.

Speaking of which! I think her interaction with him was very interesting! I think she might be able to get him to realize stuff about himself, but I don't see him pushing down his pride to admit it to anyone. I'm interested to see if after that threat he made, he will actually try to hurt her out of wanting to hurt Sun and Moon or to lash out at her for trying to help him. Or if maybe he will find it harder to target her because she is so genuine in wanting to help him be better. On one hand he hated Lunar, the one person who basically loved him as soon as he was created, so it's not that all he needs is love or something like that. He made sure to destroy that very quickly. But in the other hand maybe Earth's outsider perspective, who is kind not because she was created to please his ego, but because she wants to be, can put a crack on his walls?

But then again, there's also that other dimension in which he won but did not change at all. He refuses to change and I also sort of want to see that be his downfall. I love how opposite KC is to him in that way, since it only took KC the chance to live and experience the world outside of his code to do some self-reflection and understand his understanding was actually flawed and that there was much to appreciate of the world, where Eclipse instead has had so much time on his own to live in the world and yet refuses to do anything that isn't just have his fun and satisfy his greed for power.

Ahhh, so many factors to consider! Personally I lean more towards not wanting Eclipse to be redeemed, but I would like to see him have to go through some development whether he wants to or not XD But I’m very interested in what you think!

Also! I totally agree in what you say about waiting for him to break! One of these days he'll be forced to confront all the truths that he has not wanted to listen to and I'm so excited to see what will happen then! He is such a cool villain so far and I love him so much as an interesting character!

Trimax Vol. 4 Ch 1-3

I’m splitting my thoughts up for this volume because I have a feeling I have A LOT to say for just these three chapters, so it’s probably only gonna get longer from here. Things are starting to get real serious though...

I’ve always had a particular love for the parts of stories that deal with the aftermath of a big battle. What are our characters doing? How are they coping? What have they learned and how have they changed? So, I really liked this chapter on my first read because it gave us a really interesting look into the characters and Home as a setting. Plus, Jessica’s opening is a good laugh.

Ch1

Wolfwood, my guy, why do you assume Vash is insulting you? He just wants to show you around!!

The look of awe on Wolfwood’s face when he sees the transmitter…it’s so good! Something about a man without hope suddenly finding it again, just for a moment.

Oh god, coupled with his prayer…he wants to hope! That’s all he’s asking for, not even to be saved. But not even for himself, he’s asking for the children, for the future. He’s absent from his own prayers. It absolutely kills me, because he doesn’t even see himself in that future.

And then…Wolfwood’s prayer is answered! A message from Earth and the possibility of help! Good things do happen!

Vash and Wolfwood, both standing apart from the action and celebration, but quietly celebrating together…they are so similar in so many ways, honestly. Also, must comment on the handshake/high-five. Love them so much. They’re growing and developing.

Yes, Meryl and Milly!! Drag them into the party. Let them be a part of humanity.

I just got jumpscared by Knives.

Which is a great way to initiate a tone shift, I will say.

Vash goes from being dead asleep to wide awake just feeling his brother’s power. Very similar to what happened at Fifth Moon when Knives was resurrected. Like the level of connection between the twins and the sheer power for that to happen is insane.

Whoa, Knives has his own angel arm now! Did he somehow intercept the satellite communication with his powers? Was that what he was doing in his brief appearance in the last chapter?

Hang on, is Vash trying to leave without letting anyone know? Including Meryl, Milly, and Wolfwood? Oh my God. I know he’s like this but also it’s so rude. These people care about him and he won’t let them know what’s going on with him at all!

“It’s okay. I’ll come back. Eventually…”

Vash, that isn’t reassuring in the slightest considering you disappeared for over a decade last time. For all his love and care for humanity, he really doesn’t think he deserves any of that same feeling back and it drives me nuts.

But hey, Wolfwood knows his tricks and isn’t letting him off so easy! (Which is kinda his job, but still)

Ch2

My enduring fascination with the backstories of the Gung Ho Guns is being fed so well here. Midvalley especially is so interesting. He sees Knives’s evil, he even calls it the work of the devil, but he’s still working for him. He’s another man who’s stuck between a rock and a hard place, and chooses to play the devil. He’s certainly not good, he was obviously an assassin even before his association with the Gung Ho Guns, but he’s conflicted. He’s not good, but he doesn’t want to be evil.

“I’m a collector of knives. Sharp ones, ready and capable of genocide.” Knives…really said that, huh.

It’s interesting that in the page where we see a group shot of the Gung Ho Guns, Wolfwood is mostly out of frame. Only his arm and Punisher are visible. He is and he isn’t one of them.

Legato is sooooo upset that Knives isn’t telling him everything. And that Wolfwood is ruining his plans to kill Vash. Even though he’s still working under Knives’s orders. He’s so, so unhinged.

Also, Knives has finally abandoned his BDSM suit, so I can stop giggling every time he’s on page.

And now we return to our regularly scheduled Vash and Wolfwood shenanigans.

Vash is such a drama queen, I love it. Face down on the ground, calling out to Rem because he’s tired and pretending to be dying, and then immediately awake when he hears a car. What a guy.

Meryl and Milly are so right to drive past them. Serves Vash right for leaving without saying goodbye.

Ch3

Hang on, did those two set out across the desert without enough food and water? To the point that they needed to be rescued by Meryl and Milly, and taken to the hospital?? For two supposedly dangerous and smart men, they are incredibly stupid.

Go Meryl and Milly!! I love it when the girls get to be badasses too.

“It may be small but its power is sufficient.” Meryl’s dad is right not just about her guns, but about her. It’s been interesting watching Meryl, someone who is truly only human, try to keep up with and deal with basically supernatural beings. I wonder if what she’s considering at this moment is if what her father said was really true. Can she keep up with Vash? Does she have the power to help him with his quest?

Wolfwood sometimes manages to be caring in the rudest way possible. He’s talking about ditching the girls like they’re hangers on, but he’s really worried that they’re going to get hurt or killed.

Vash, as usual, calling Wolfwood out on it, too. Wolfwood isn’t sure that he wants to do that! Besides, Vash is right. The girls went in with their eyes wide open. As much as Vash likes to not give the whole truth to protect people and keep them from following him, the girls know what they’re getting into. He doesn’t have that excuse anymore, and he can’t keep them away without disregarding their autonomy completely.

Hoppred and Midvalley might be my favorite Gung Ho Guns. They’re so complicated! Midvalley is there because he doesn’t have a choice; it was either join Knives or die, but he knows he’s going to die at the end of this either way. Hoppred is here for revenge and once he gets that, his purpose for living is gone, so it doesn’t matter if he dies anyway. They were pushed onto this dark path and they don’t see a way out of it; they don’t see a future outside of the darkness. There’s a theme somewhere in here but I can’t quite grasp it. Honestly, I just loved everything about their conversation here.

Oh no, Meryl’s been kidnapped! If I remember my volumes correctly, this is the one where things get really dark. I don’t know if I’m ready for the rest of this…

For the character meme ask, Caius Cosades!

First impression: Why is this man not wearing a shirt? Did he just say I could sleep in his bed?

Impression now: One of my favourite TES characters. There's a lot of depth here. He's a loyal servant of the Empire who can see the Empire is about to fall to pieces, and that isn't important to what you need to do. You're no fool. The days of the Empire are almost over. When the Emperor dies, nine hells're going to break loose. Forget about the Imperial City. Think locally. Worry about the Sixth House and Dagoth Ur. And squabbles between the Great Houses and the colonists. The rest of the political nonsense doesn't amount to a plate of scuttle.'" I'll just list off a bunch of cool aspects of his character: - His weakness for moon sugar, and whether it's actually a real problem or just being exploited by his political enemies. - The suggestion Uriel might believe in the prophecy rather than the political benefits unlike the rest of the Blades, and that what Uriel says has more weight with him. So that when the Blades pull the plug on the project as being politically un-useful, Caius does everything to help you before being recalled. - He'll refuse to work with you if you kill certain people, even if it means refusing Uriel's orders.: But [Character] is DEAD! And you were responsible! Get OUT OF HERE! And don't come back! I don't CARE what the Emperor wants! I don't CARE about your excuses! GET OUT OF HERE! [This path to your destiny is blocked.]" - Wow, he is buff.

Favorite moment: It's actually from a non-canon source. From the developer who wrote his dialogue, Ken Rolston's short story in which Caius visits Uriel's grave. A lot of the hints in the game about his complicated relationship with Uriel are fleshed out. "Sorry. I've taken my time about it, Your Majesty, but I'm here at last, to pay my respects. Tell them upstairs that Caius Cosades has buried his black pennies on the spot, and placed a wreath at your grave.

Idea for a story: Morrowind as a game didn't inspire me to write fanfic, because it felt like such a finished experience when I ended the game. It took Skyrim, with all its dropped or arrested stories to make me want to write fanfic. So I don't actually have a Caius Cosades idea, though, now I do actually have a Morrowind prequel fic, so maybe one day I will write a story with Caius, featuring that Nerevarine.

Unpopular opinion: No idea if this is popular, unpopular, or more probably, not well known. But Ken Rolston's other Caius Cosades' letter sucks, where suddenly he's an Evangelical Imperial Cult booster? The visit to the tomb is a much better post-Oblivion text, and it's hard to see the two as the same character.

Favorite relationship: Caius Cosades and Uriel. That mix of fondness, trust, and exasperation.

Favorite headcanon: Caius got himself sent to Morrowind after he showed up at the Imperial Palace with no shirt for an official meeting with Uriel, Ocato, and the Blades brass. The latter did not take it well.

After watching both of the Shazam! movies, I'm full of inspiration for my own original story about siblings with superpowers.

This is an idea that came to me in a really cool dream I had a few years ago, where my siblings and I had superpowers and were on the run from some kind of evil organization. But it was like...we were ourselves, but very much not ourselves (you know how dreams are); we all had different names and our personalities were a bit more vibrant and interesting than we are in real life. And I think this could turn into a really fun YA/children's book!

There are four siblings who have been (recently, I think) orphaned, and are on the run from the evil Dr. Clementine and his goons, who want to capture the children and possibly experiment on them, or maybe just try to get them to work for him in whatever his dastardly plans are.

Each of the four siblings has a superpower, but the catch is that every time they use their power, it takes a toll on them in some physical way. So they can't just run around using their powers willy-nilly without facing the consequences.

The children and their powers/temporary consequences for using them (which last longer the more of their power they use):

Jack (17) - super strength / goes limp and unresponsive like he's in a coma

Sophie (15) - telekinesis / debilitating migraines

Rebecca (9) - telepathy / mutism

Grace (7) - super speed / her metabolism speeds up too, which generally leads to effects similar to low blood sugar levels

Eventually, as they try to escape Dr. Clementine, they are contacted by the mysterious Dr. Kartal, who is also studying superpowers. At first they don't trust him, but as he continues to help them, they begin to realize that he's on their side. Eventually, he helps them escape Dr. Clementine and lets them stay with him (and maybe adopts them, at least eventually?).

I want to draw a stark contrast between Drs. Clementine and Kartal, in a "look fair but feel foul/look foul but feel fair" sort of way. Dr. Clementine is very clean and orderly, dressing in brightly colored, expensive clothes, with a deceptively kind demeanor - but really, all he wants is to use the children for his own ends. Whereas Dr. Kartal is more eccentric and shabby-looking, with occasional outbursts of emotion and sometimes a sense that he's in over his head with this whole thing - but his care for the children is genuine. He wants them to be free and have the opportunity to do whatever they want with their lives.

This is basically all I have on the story at this point. I'd love to have some help developing this story, and I'd be over the moon if you'd send me some questions that might help me flesh it out a bit more! And I'm willing to do the same in return - if you ask me a question, go ahead and tag me in a post talking about a story of your own (original or otherwise), and I'll send you some questions about yours to give you an opportunity to develop it or gush about it!

Baby Brothers - Faro's Telling

Warnings and Information: Uh… oops? Out of my 18+ Clone OCs, Faro was supposed to be my *ONE* OC who did not have a proper/creative backstory for his name out of everyone who appeared in the NTMYB story that has since spiraled into a series. But I had an idea. This takes place before NTMYB, so rather than break the in-house rule of using their names before they actually get them, or make up CT designations that will just get confusing (and I’ll forget later), everyone's dialogue gets color-coded. Apologies, and warning, for eyestrain. This will not be a regular story-telling method. Star Wars and real-world swearing. No Mando'a here. Narrative and stylistic use of italics.

By Kamino's three moons, why did he have to get pulled out of the cloning tanks first? Now he feels like he's supposed to shoulder all blame and fault for his brothers until their training is completed. It's lousy. He never asked for this! And what's worse, is he has some of the most patience-testing batchmates possible out of this whole Growth Cycle…

The whole of the Growth Cycle gets shipped out next year. Perhaps several hundred healthy adult men within a single Cycle (he doesn't keep track of the numbers) all fit and ready to fight for the Republic. Hundreds of batches of brothers.

Batches of brothers made up of fives.

"All four of you are going to make me gray before we're even shipped out…" he finds himself muttering as he tasks himself with taking care of them out of a sense of obligation. Of responsibility. Brotherhood. "Kriffing hells, stop it. We're supposed to be practicing for our weapons disassembly, would you quit messing with the other two?"

"I'm helping them! One of their parts got lost. Help me find it before the trainer sees!"

One of them is cocky and impulsive sometimes, another underwent a massive personality shift in the last two years that does not seem related to developing a unique identity, and the youngest two are so kriffing hard to separate. Second youngest can be easily distracted and just as unlucky as the third. The youngest… constantly breathing down his neck and inventing excuses to stay close.

They get shipped out next year. They're all almost fully-grown, and none of them have Names.

He's just the oldest out of choice. So he feels he has to be mature and steadfast and a teacher for his baby brothers… He takes the worst of it from the Trainers. Either because he thinks he has to as the oldest, and therefore the example, or because he’s made the scapegoat. For some reason it’s his fault that one brother keeps getting a DC-17 hand blaster and a DC-15S mixed up when they do drills on each model. It's his fault when the oldest brother after him loses his cool. It's his fault that the youngest are distractible and shy and never feel like socializing with their other Clone-brothers outside of their batch.

It's his fault because he's the oldest. He's only trying to be a good example. He's only trying to take care of them. But he's got four baby brothers and only two hands to take care of them all… he tries so, so hard to, anyways.

Two hands that have been trained to do so much damage can only be so soft sometimes.

But Maker, he's trying. He's been trying so hard ever since they were little and when "babying" was more acceptable. Well just because they're nearly men, it doesn't mean they stop being his little brothers. Because he was pulled out of the Cloning tube first, these four are his baby brothers; now, forever, always.

They annoy him, yes. But he loves them… and he loves them by protecting them before they ever set foot off of Kamino, when it will become impossible to do so. When he understands the risks that he will lose them - or they lose him - to war against the Separatists and all those who would oppose the Republic. Risks he is prepared for, but selfishly does not want to accept.

These are his brothers. Come stormy seas or blaster fire, that will not change. Not even men like Jaccynn will change this.

And Jaccynn is in a mood today. A particularly nasty one. "That was sloppy, CT-xxxx! Again!"

"S-sorry, Sir! Yessir!" his middle batchmate pants, daubing his brow on the edge of his sleeve. His training uniform is soaked with sweat new and old. The training center stinks of musk and petrichor from hundreds of brothers engaged in hand sparring. He snaps all his limbs in starting position, but his knees soon begin to wobble. He's too tired to keep this up for much longer. "I-I'm upping keep as best as I can! I mean I'm keeping up!"

That's been happening a lot more lately; the word confusion. But it's just subtle enough that the Kaminoans haven't caught on, or don't have enough of a reason to look into these reports.

Words from the smuggled datapad from their classrooms come back to him.

Possible brain injuries. Minor aphasia.

His middle brother is likely suffering with minor aphasia, and there's nothing he can do about it. Except exercise yet more patience… patience that would not be shown by the Trainers. So he has to be creative and crafty with his words and his excuses when Jaccynn oversees their combat readiness.

"Wait. It's been ten minutes since your last sip of water," he warns his brother, grabbing his bottle from the stack and bravely crossing into the combat mat's boundaries to take it to him, "And our brothers in the medical center keep reminding you that the reason you passed out last time was because you were dehydrated, CT-xxxx." Ordinarily he would not let another brother lean on him like this, having to fully support the tugging weight that threatens to take him to the floor like a bored child hanging off a parent's wrist who's too old for such behavior. But he makes exceptions for his batchmates. He has to. He sees his brother is not as fine as he claims between long, drawn-out pulls from the bottle.

"I'll be fi-fine!" comes the unconvincing insistence after a particularly violent sway, "I'll begot this!"

There's a loud snickering behind the two of them. "You'll kriffing what now?"

"What did I say?" He doesn't get what's so funny about what he said, as usual. That is also a more recent problem. One that he just has to hope doesn't get any worse, or they might take his brother away from him and never be seen again. He can't let that happen. "What'd he say I said?"

"Ignore him. Focus, brother. You're almost done, c'mon. Be ready as soon as I get off the mat." His brother has to focus. And the second oldest needs to get a hold of himself too, he can't just make these unfiltered comments out in the open. Not in front of this trainer who oversees the instruction of this Growth Cycle.

The trainer who calls himself Jaccynn just sneers with disgust. He knows the water break was a clever tactic to stall his instruction, but he cannot delve into supplying punishments for interruptions the way he would like. So he goes about it a different way: giving the losing combatant no time to prepare himself. "Okay, now that you've had your cute little pep talk it's time to get serious… Ready. Set. Begin!"

He's hardly had the time to brace himself to be laid out on his back, and the air bursts from his lungs in a harsh wheeze as the winning challenger makes his first and only move necessary to complete the round. He's so damn dazed that he can only grin stupidly up at the Clone brother above him asking if he's okay.

The impulsive streak is rearing its head again. "Why that-"

"Sit your ass down, you're not a charging Reek." He pulls his brother back down with a fistful of his uniform. Retaliation is just going to spur Jaccynn on and take it out on more of his little brothers. He's sung this song and danced this dance for years now with Jaccynn.

"But Jaccynn didn't give him enough time to get ready, I should feed him his teeth!"

"I saw it too, mynock-brain."

Though nearly fully-grown, the youngest are crawling on their hands and knees to avoid being noticed by the hired instructor as they try to get their brothers to stop arguing. To his memory, of all his baby brothers, these two are the only ones who have not fully abandoned this behavior when they're all supposed to be seated on the floor.

They don't opt for shuffling along on their knees like most other brothers. His batchmates are far from being like most other brothers.

"Cut it out, guys!" the second youngest pleads, using his body as a buffer between his oldest two brothers with the help of the youngest. Their faces are probably warm with anxiety as warm as their bark-brown eyes that implore them to get along. Privileges that come with being batch-babies.

The four of them really, really test his patience, but he wouldn't trade them for any other Batch, deep down. These are his batchmates. These are his brothers. Maker help him if he ever stopped loving them so much…

"Alright, alright, stop. Go pester him. I'm going to make sure he's okay." Privileges that come with being the two oldest means it takes just a few words to settle the others down. And, if you're annoyed enough, you make it the other's problem. Again, where these any other brothers but his batchmates, he would not be quite as tolerant of someone nearly fully-grown trying to share his shadow. "He's probably just had his bucket rung, again. Look at him, he's grinning like an Acklay. He'll be okay."

The simple fact he's sitting up and laughing it off bodes mostly well, at least. Second and third oldest are now joking that the third has probably seen more stars than a spacer, and he's never even left Kamino yet. "You're setting a galactic record!"

"Hell yeah!"

Maker, those two were certainly going to make him gray before he was ten. But at least the youngest would keep him softer and kinder. "Stop gnawing on your nails, little brother."

"Sorry…"

"I'm not angry anymore, it's-"

He shakes his head rapidly. "It's Jaccynn. He scares me." That's fair enough, he concedes. Jaccynn hasn't exactly made himself a popular Trainer with the Clones. More than one Clone-brother has wanted nothing more than to feed him his teeth for berating them, or picking on the batch-babies. That seems to be his thing. Jacc hates that across most of the facility, younger brothers are often afforded a little more leniency.

Cared for a little more until the next Growth Cycle is old enough to really roughhouse with the rest of them. They still can, granted; it's just that they don't want to accidentally hurt any of their brothers while they're still growing, still learning.

"All you damn Clones look the same, how can you possibly tell who's younger than you?"

It was impossible to explain how you just knew, or why exactly they did it, but of course they could absolutely tell who was younger than them even without being explicitly told. You're older than your batchmates by mere minutes. So when you age and grow and change as fast as they do, they have to find some way of establishing a sense of… normalcy. Maybe this was something that was passed down to them from the very first generation of Clones, or something that someone saw on the Holonet and really liked the idea of.

A living sea of hundreds and thousands and millions of brothers, of course they'd behave a lot alike "traditional" brothers in some ways. But they're a lot more unalike than nat-born brothers… they don't tend to Name one another.

"What about Fang?"

He scoffs, insulted. "What am I, a massiff? Pass."

"I dunno, you seem like an Axel to me."

He shakes his head again. Someone else in the neighboring batch (below them) is considering that Name. It's bound to happen, but you try to avoid too many name duplicates within a Growth Cycle.

"Rachet?"

That's not a bad name, but no. ("Stop chewing your nails or I'll have to hold your hand.")

His middle brother gives him a woozy smile as he's helped down to medical, again. "I think he's more of a… Ozone. Yeah, I kinda like it… That's a nice name…"

"Are you sure you don't want that name for yourself?" He offers as he helps his brother into a chair and lets a medic know that yeah, it's them again, who else? while doing his best to keep him upright.

"I'llthinkaboutit." That's fine, he promises. Only half-jokingly he replies he's more concerned about keeping them in one piece on Kamino so they can go and fight for the Republic. "There's plenty of time to find names, little brother. Even if that's when we leave Kamino." Away from Jaccynn who mocks every last name choice. Away from the bounty hunter who's only training soldiers of the GAR for a promised sum, not because he genuinely wants to make any kind of difference. But because he must feel small without hundreds who have to listen to him, one of those types of people. "One day, brothers… we'll find Names, and I won't have to keep thinking of you by your favorite colors. I'll think of you by your Names. One day I'll stop sounding like such a jackass in front of the others when I have to refer to you by CT numbers."

"Is that why you call me Yellow?"

"What am I?" His youngest brothers look at him with wide, imploring eyes. These two have always been so expressive. "Me?"

"Privately: I'm Red," he answers with a gentle chuckle, "yes, you are Yellow." he tells him with a nod, and ruffling the soft, fluffy curls of the second and then the youngest's last, he adds "You're Blue. And Orange seems to be your favorite color. That leaves our dizzy brother over here as Green."

"Green's not a creative color for a Name…" he complains softly, dodging the pinpoint of light from the otoscope in the medic's hands as he tries to check the pupils.

"What do I use instead then?"

He whines softly and shrugs while he tries to swat the otoscope away. "I dunno… no-go-awaaay." (He's never liked how much they have to use the otoscope on him when trying to figure out the root cause of his confusion and word-swapping.)

"Then for just now, I'll stick with Green, okay?"

"Eh… sure." he concedes before he allows the medic to do his job with no further complaints, since 'Red' offers his hand to hold. He's already holding 'Orange''s hand just so he settles down. Three Kaminoans have entered the medical wings. They've always made him a little nervous, much like a lot of things; he speculates that Orange has a lot of masked nervousness…

"Don't think about the long-necks…" he whispers, nudging his youngest batchmate to turn his back on the Kaminoans. "Just think about us, or what you want your Name to be. Anything but them. You're okay. So long as I'm here."

He'd make sure of it. For all of them. He's just minutes older than them, and he never wanted to be the oldest… but for them? Maker. As much as they drive him crazy, he'd probably burn down the galaxy for them if it would keep them safe.

These are his baby brothers. And he loves them.

Everything. He'd do everything again in a damn heartbeat.

He just needs to make sure if he gets another chance, another life, that he does a lot of things differently. That he stands up to Jaccynn sooner, and defends his batchmates more. That he tells his brothers he loves them, not just showing them through acts of service or sacrifice. Apologizes to his superior officers for being so closed off and stoic all the time. Thank the other brothers who showed friendship and offered their help to the youngest of his batch.

But more important than anything else is that he explains why his name is FARO…
