I Heard They KILL Live!
Ice Nine Kills in Indianapolis, IN
11-7-2023
Tumblr media
Ice Nine Kills (INK) puts on, once again, a killer performance while on the Kiss of Death Tour. The Massachusetts “horror-core” band have just ended their month long tour with In This Moment, supported by Avatar and New Year’s Day on December 2nd.
The audience was electric when the first few notes of “Hip To Be Scared” started playing and the band hit the stage. Stage actor Michael Meaney contributed to this beginning energy with his role as Paul Allen from hit film “American Psycho”. The unity felt within the crowd when everyone shouted “HEY PAUL!” right before the breakdown was unmatched.
The setlist consisted of a healthy mix of new and old songs that catered to both the new and older fans. They started with songs off of “Welcome To Horrorwood” (2021) and “The Silver Scream” (2018), but added in a song from the 2014 album “The Predator Becomes The Prey”, as per fan request through the Psycho’s Only app.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The set consisted of many visuals that referenced horror movies, most notably the performance of the song “The Shower Scene”. This act visualizes the 1960 film “Psycho”, in which Amanda Sahr plays the role of Marion Crane, and INK’s frontman Spencer Charnas plays his own version of Norman Bates. The song is another tune in which crowd participation is incredible. Hearing everyone shout the chorus together during one of the music breaks is such a powering experience to hear as a fan.
Throughout my years of supporting INK, I have been faced with nothing but community in regards to interacting with other fans. Everyone seems to come together and share their common interests in heavy metal, horror, and performance art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this show, I was with a good friend of mine, Miko Puno. He is a fellow photographer based in Indianapolis, and was happy to come along with me to the show, despite not listening to metal.
“From a person who does not listen to metal, I enjoyed it significantly, and quite frankly, I’d go on to say I would do it again.” He says to me when asked about his thoughts on the show, “I was told Ice Nine Kills would be the highlight of the night, and they were correct. If I were to only talk about the ‘sights’ of Ice Nine, it was a sight to behold. Numerous horror movie references, as well as evident passion for their music and their role; it was clear to me that they loved their music, and their fans sure did too.”
My personal favorite song to see performed that night was the newest released song “Meat & Greet”. This song was released on October 13th of this year, and was the conclusion of the Horrorwood Saga as of now. The song consisted of many references to the film “Silence of the Lambs”, and the live performance of the song didn’t disappoint.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lane Nobriga and FRANCO, two stage actors for INK, did an incredible job in bringing the song to life and creating intriguing and exciting visualities playing opposing roles as Hannibal Lecter and an officer.
I feel the conclusion to the show was one to remember. The band ended the set with “Welcome To Horrorwood”, containing an exhilarating guitar solo from Miles Dimitri Baker and fast paced drums from Patrick Galante. Normally, in other performances during this song, Charnas would climb into the crowd and be held up by fans during the last chorus, but given the set up of the venue, that didn’t happen this show. Though that didn’t take away from the head-banging, voice-losing, thrilling encore. With Ricky Armellino on guitar and Joe Occhiuti on bass, along with the rest of the band, the whole performance was one to remember. This makes the second time I’ve seen Ice Nine Kills, and I’ve been blown away by their production every time. If you’re a horror/metal fanatic that loves theatrics and passion for music, Ice Nine Kills is the band for you.

Here's my poster of my official version of my version for my DisneyElseWorld's Pixar's...
INSIDE OUT 2!
Tumblr media
I saw the new Inside Out 2 trailer, and they made Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Envy bad by betraying the old emotions. Lots of crazy stuff is about to happen! We don't know what's going on, lots of details are there too. But what would the ElseWorld version be like?
SO!
For my idea. I have 6 new emotions, the OC emotions like, Courage, Surprise, Pride, Trust, Shame, and Frustration.
MAIN VILLAIN
I am using on of my oc's Ego de Spite, to be the main villain of the au second movie.
OTHER CHARACTERS
Characters like Zee, the assistant of Ego, she runs the business with him but she tries to avoid him to help others. Bud, Courage's blood cell buddy, he doesn't speak but he's sweet, nervous, cute and got some attitude. And Brain, the big boss of Riley's mind, and the emotions need his help to stop Ego. And Mother Esteem, sweet old mind lady but very big (Disclaimer: Not in the poster).
Returning Cast like...
Amy Poehler as Joy, Bill Hader as Fear (YES! I'm bringing Bill Hader back! He's so much funnier then I expected), Lewis Black as Anger, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Kensington Tallman as Riley, Diane Lane as Mrs. Andersen, and Kyle MacLachlan as Mr. Andersen.
Recast Alert!
I actually like Liza Lapira playing Disgust. After what Mindy Kaling did in Velma, it wasn't enough for me. Because the show and her are piles of shit to me.
With All-Star Cast like...
Chris Pratt (The LEGO Movie 2) as the new outside leader emotion Courage, Sam Richardson (Hocus Pocus 2) as Surprise, Kate McKinnon (Ferdinand & Saturday Night Live) as Frustration,
Andrew Rannells (Trolls Band Together) as Trust, Randall Park (Ant-Man And The Wasp) as Pride, Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh) as Shame, Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men films & Underdogs) as the villainous and hilarious, Ego de Spite,
Aubrey Plaza (Monsters At Work) as Ego's sarcastic female assistant, Zee, Michael Cera (Barbie & Superbad) as Ego's nerd assistant, Yes Man, Peter Sohn (Ratatouille & Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse) as The emotions new blood cell buddy, Bud, Wanda Sykes (the Ice Age films) as Mother Esteem,
with David Wain (The Bob's Burgers Movie) as Chairman the Mind Councilman, Yvette Nicole Brown (Drake & Josh) as Riley's middle school P.E. coach, Ms. Roberts, Brady Noon (TMNT: Mutant Mayhem) as Jordan, Jack Bright (The Good Dinosaur) as Riley's bully, Francis, & Alfred Molina (Monsters University, Gravity Falls & the Spider-Man films) as the smart, wise cracking, and big-headed mind boss himself, Brain.

I kicked off my birthday month by rereading Pacts and Predicaments after recommending it on a particular subreddit and it had been a minute since I'd revisited one of my favorite kinky couples. Several books I'd been waiting for came out in March, so it was a great reading month. Favorites this month were Black AF History, The Fractured Dark, James, The Other Side of Disappearing, and There's Always This Year. I own Pacts and Predicaments and Black AF History, which I listened to on Libby. I also listened to There's Always This Year on Libby because I love when Hanif narrates his own books. Everything else was from either Hoopla or Libby.

Anthony Hogan's paragraph descriptions of John Byrne (Johnny Guitar), Ringo Starr, Charles O'Brien (Ty O'Brien), and Walter Eymond (Lu Walters) from the book FROM A STORM TO A HURRICANE (2016)
" John [Byrne] was born on 4 December 1939 in Liverpool to Michael Patrick Byrne, a Seaman, born 22 October 1908, and Elsie Ford, who had married in the city in 1932. Elsie was born 10 July 1905 in Liverpool, with her early years being spent at No. 2 Belfast Road in Old Swan. Here she lived with her one sister and four brothers, her mother Eliza (nee Cowan) and her father Henry, who worked as a coal dealer. Her parents had married in 1898 and moved to the Old Swan area from Everton. By 1933 Michael and Elsie were living in London, where they had their first two children, Patrick and Norma. The family returned to Liverpool when Michael's work was moved there. After their return, John and Paul were born. John was a pupil at St Oswald's school in Old Swan and a part of the church of the same name. Like Alan, John had taken dance lessons at Martin's school on Derby lane. They had both attended the boys' club there as well. Just before his teen years John was struck down with rheumatic fever. He pulled through and spent six months in a Southport hospital convalescing. "
" Charles was born Charles William O'Brien in Liverpool on 15 February 1941, to Charles William O'Brien, born 1906 in Liverpool, and Marie Brierly, born 2 October 1904 in Liverpool. The couple married in 1927 at St Michael and Sacred Heart church on West Derby Road, Liverpool. The family lived at No. 49 Pemberton Road, Old Swan, with Charles Sr working as a seaman for the Canadian Pacific Line. Charles had an older sister named Marie who had been born in 1928. (..) Young Charles became a very talented amateur boxer, training at the Derby Lane gym, as well as a very good guitar player. He had been a pupil at St Oswald's school, and attended the church there. Charles, or Chas as he was often called, had known John Lennon and The Quarrymen in their early days. He was also another member of the band who had attended Martin's dance school on Derby Lane in Old Swan, where he proved to be a rather decent dancer. "
" Richard [Starkey] had been born on 7 July 1940, at No. 9 Madryn Street in the Dingle area of Liverpool, to Richard Starkey and Elsie Gleave, who had married in 1936. The couple had spent time dancing together on the ballroom circuit, but the birth of Richard drove them apart. Richard Snr showed little interest towards his son, preferring to spend his time drinking in local pubs. Elsie raised Richard and doted after him. In 1944 they moved the short distance to No. 10 Admiral Grove, the move being done by loading their possessions onto a handcart. Within a year Richard Shr had left and a divorce had been completed; his son barely saw him again. Richard, known as Ritchie, was very ill as a child, developing appendicitis aged six that led to a stay in the Myrtle Street children's hospital. He was a pupil at St Silas primary school and Dingle Vale secondary school, where he was a classmate of Billy Fury. In 1953 he contracted tuberculosis and was admitted to the children's hospital at Heswell on the Wirral. "
" Walter Eymond was born Walter Lewis Eymond on 6 August 1938 off Cazneau Street in Liverpool. His parents, who had married in Liverpool in 1934, were Henry Lewis Eymond, born 1906, and Mary Melia. Henry was the son of Lewis Felix Eymond and Georgina Esther Carruthers (Walter's grandparents) who in 1911 were living at No. 13 Buckingham Road in Walton, Liverpool, with Lewis working as a ship's pattern-maker. Walter's great-grandfather, Jean-Marie Henri Eymond, had brought his family over to England from the Bordeaux region of France. In 1875 he was living in the Dingle area of Liverpool and working as a master mariner. Walter also had a sister named Jean who had been born in 1935. During the Second World War Walter's home was bombed, resulting in the family being rehoused at No. 11 Ulster Road in Old Swan for the remainder of the war. Walter's father Henry worked as an electrical engineer and would often take his family with him when he worked in such places as London, Newcastle and Dudley in Birmingham. "

'As Doctor Who's final 60th anniversary, The Giggle, makes its way to our screens, it's been confirmed that the episode will pay tribute to the First Doctor, William Hartnell, and the original Toymaker, Michael Gough.
The special will see David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor face one of his oldest enemies, The Toymaker, this time brought to life by Neil Patrick Harris.
A new clip from the episode reveals that when the Doctor and Donna (Catherine Tate) first meet the Toymaker, the Doctor's terror begins to show as he orders Donna to get back to the TARDIS.
The episode then flashes back to when the First Doctor originally met the Toymaker, in newly-colourised footage from the 1966 story.
Hartnell, who paved the way for every Doctor after him, died in 1975 at the age of 67. Gough, who not only played one of the most iconic Doctor Who villains, but starred in films like Dracula and the first four Batman movies, died in 2011 at the age of 94.
The Celestial Toymaker, which marked the first meeting of the Doctor and the Toymaker, aired in 1966 – although much of the footage was lost after the original master tapes were wiped.
The fourth episode of the four-part story was the only episode in the BBC archives after a recording from Australia was given to the BBC in 1984.
However, the BBC has confirmed that the story will be restored in the form of an animated release.
The official Doctor Who account on Twitter (which was recently re-branded to X) confirmed that the animation is coming soon to DVD, Blu-ray and steelbook, sharing a snippet of the footage.
The original story sees the Toymaker successfully tear the Doctor apart from his companions to play a twisted game, while Steven (Peter Purves) and Dodo (Jackie Lane) themselves are also forced into some deadly challenges of their own thanks to his schemes.'
