[Image ID: A series of traditional pencil drawings of Mortimor from Craig of the Creek. In the first, he hugs Kelsey's hair bun. In the second, his feathers are disheveled. In the third, he stretches out his wings. In the fourth, he hides his face. In the fifth, he is shown in his usual pose. In the sixth, Kelsey smiles up at him, having handed him a honeysuckle flower, which he holds in his beak. In the seventh, he is shown from the front. In the eighth, he is shown in profile, looking discouraged. In the final drawing, he wears a crown and a bow tie. /.End ID]
I've been watching Craig of the Creek and am now on the lookout for whenever Mortimor is extra cute.
I have been playing with The Goth family for a week now! This my first time really playing with a townie family. I redid their mansion and I am in love lol.
If the releases of the seer fanfic and mml lined up more I think Milo would have also qualified to be a seer, and I felt the urge to doodle the idea so here ya go
Lemon Jelly. Creationism. Fight Club. The cinema of Hal Hartley. All this and more will be touched upon in the Dale's Ramblings Sixth AnniVARsary Spectacular, as we look at the last of Virgin's Decalogs.
[ID: venn diagram. the two individual circles say "people who have put music on bandcamp.com" and "people who have written EDAs". the text in the middle is "jim mortimore". /end ID]
for the record jim mortimore is also the guy who wrote the natural history of fear. truly a based individual
When I was editing townies for my Cyberpunk save/ story (Arx Erebos)-- I ended up giving the Goths a whole backstory-- which I thought would make a spicy little side story. And I was going to call the little one-shots “Arx Erotica” lol. Anyways I even came up with a book cover (I was going for those retro Sci-fi covers) and blurb, and then life got in the way. Whoops.
Figured since people are sharing Valentines-esque stuff, I would too.
Blurb:
Science-fiction writer Mortimer is too busy trying to make a name for himself to realize that his wife Bella has grown increasingly distant. That is until she returns home one day and tries to kill him. He’s awakened centuries later, in a strange city that is the last outpost of humanity to face of his killer.
Except, this is a clone named Stella, replicated from Bella’s archived DNA. When her husband/ partner-in-crime Mordecai (cloned from Mortimer’s genetic material) perishes in a mission gone wrong, she has no choice but to resuscitate Mortimer because she’s short on time and the stakes have never been higher.
Mortimer is a man out of time and out of his depth, and the clone wearing his wife’s face is a little too much-- but maybe he can find make the most of his second lease at life and love.
