“When God Seems Silent, remember...”

He speaks to you through the Bible: “For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.” —Hebrews 4:12 (TPT)

He has given you other believers to walk alongside you: “Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.” —1 Thessalonians 5:14 (NLT)

He has been faithful in the past and will be faithful in the future: “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].” —James 1:17 (AMP)

His character never changes: “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” —Numbers 23:19 (NLT)

Kristin at “The Daily Grace Co.” and “Cultivate What Matters” shared a post on Instagram: "Sometimes anxiety is overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like God is silent. As someone that has struggled with anxiety…I just keep coming back to the gift of the presence of the Lord with us. It seems each morning over the past year when I open my Bible, I am reminded of it again. The Lord is with us. He does not leave us to walk through this life alone. He will go before us. He will never abandon us.

But sometimes it doesn’t feel like He is near. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like he is speaking. And in those times…we have to remind ourselves of what is true…even if we don’t feel it. Knowing that we are not alone gives us the courage to step into the unknown.

God has used this truth in the past year to give me so much freedom from the struggle with anxiety. I am so grateful for the way He comforts us in our need. So I will let these words sink into my heart. He is with me. Maybe you need to take a deep breath tonight and remind yourself of that truth as well.”

do you ever think of a number and realise you've never thought about that number in your entire life and you just know this is the first time

#this post is about 1198 #hi king this is the first time we've ever met #what are some other numbers i've never thought of #like obviously something like 23845892753897598233 i've never thought of in my life bc it's too long #but 1198 is short enough that it could've crossed my mind #1199 definitely has at least once. but why hasn't 1198 #i mean maybe the number has but i was specifically thinking of the year #also i have a few ocs from like the early 1200s and who are mostly teenagers and young adults so the thought of one being born in 1198 #would make a lot of sense. which makes it more impressive that i've never thought about that year #there's also times i've never thought of. never even seen on a clock. #like 23:59 and 19:07 and 13:50 and 1:49 are like brothers to me #i see them everyday #but then you get more obscure ones like 10:27 which for some reason i rarely see #other times during 10am are pretty easy to see but it's usually at the start or end #4:02 is a pretty rare one i don't recall seeing that that much #what am i on about. stop saying numbers and get on with your dissertation. #ramble

there’s a lot that’s currently bothering me about aphelion now that i’m back to working on it, and so far the only change i’ve implemented is aging up cay and bee, and somehow that feels like a step in the right direction

#em dashes #aphelion #a bit of rambling: #my problem is that i'm kind of growing out of the YA genre #i still read and enjoy some of them but mostly i've found myself just wanting more #this is especially the case for sci fi dystopians i find. i can still handle fantasy just fine #so to have my wip. which is about a group of teens running around doing things teens shouldn't be able to do. #in something of a dystopian (post apocalypse more accurately) world #that just kept setting off the 'this is just like those YA stories i'm growing out of' part of my brain #i couldn't articulate this problem until i was talking to my friend about it yesterday #and i was like hm. what if i just. aged up the characters then. #because there was no reason for them to be so young except that i was around the same age when i created the story #and now that i'm twenty five. it's like #well. my characters can be in their twenties too #and that makes a lot more sense!! #because part of bee's story is that she gets hired to be the getaway driver in a high stakes heist or sorts #and WHY would a bunch of adults hire a 19-year-old to do the job for them #she's 23 now because it's my favourite number and it seems more reasonable #still pretty young but not like. a teenager #and cay is (if i did my math right) 19 about to turn 20 #as opposed to 17 about to turn 18 #rian is still 13 bc part of the tragedy IS that he's so young
