Now I know this change is sudden... Why the new sona? Why the new name??? WHY THE NEW BANNER??? THE ICON???

Don't worry! I'm still the same old paperbag!

Speaking of the name, I never really liked the name "Anonymous-Paperbag".... It felt too long and didn't really feel like me. Not to mention that my sona (at the time) was a bit bland (I didn't even color it!) Tbh the only reason that I named myself "Anonymous Paperbag" was so that I can remain "anonymous", plus I put myself in a paperbag too so double the anonymity (what a silly word! "Anonymity". Try to say that five times fast.)

At the time, I was TERRIFIED of being online. I've had some not-so-great experiences online before, with some people stealing my ocs and people just overall being creepy :(

Thankfully, I had a very great person IRL who kinda gently nudged me into sharing my art online again! Thank you @adeadcreator for believing in me!! You're the absolute greatest!!!

I also wanna thank @pixiepixells and @catlover4536, two of my first followers! (i honestly got so surprised having followers for the first time! Wowie! People who like my art???) You two have been just terrific first fans who gave me the motivation to push my art!

And ofc, I wanna thank @dottyorange, who has been a terrific friend since the very beginning! And to @hazile who has been so kind and so enthusiastic! Seriously, I am proud of you both!

And how can I forget the 500 of you folks???? SERIOUSLY??? 500???? thats a lot of people. I would LOVE to thank you all individually but I'll be writing all day lmao. BUT I WILL SAY THIS. Thank you for pushing my art to the fullest! While I am still learning, I don't think I ever would've done digital art if it weren't for you online folks.

I made this silly thing called Blunt Language AU, that was my 1st post for this blog/fandom actually! :D

I’ll link it here, but TLDR: it’s just our modern speech sounding “ancient” to the Teyvatians, who speak really flowery/fluffy/lots of context in comparison!

That’s all you rlly need to know to read this I think, so enjoy! :)

u fall into Genshin Impact, and Snezhnaya is where you land first type of energy lol

weird golden star falling from the sky? that sounds like a prophecy the Tsaritsa knows abt alright

so they sent Childe, one of the friendliest (if not The Friendliest) Harbinger, to see if it was a valid claim you’d finally descended,

and ofc as soon as the redhead heard you try and talk to him, he knew the claims by the small village nearby (who had taken u in from the cold weather/taken care of you) were legit

pantalone did manage to squeeze some examples of what you’d possibly sound like into his head before he left so while Childe personally has a tough time talking to you, it doesn't mean he’s not willing to try!! >:)

he mostly just kept asking questions forever until he understood what you meant, and as soon he got u were asking abt the Tsaritsa, the other Harbingers, himself, even how to get Sneznayan-made clothes lol

he was like: 👀👀👀???!!!!

it wasn't so much recruitment at first as it was “omg the exalted one wishes to learn abt us, the Tsaritsa and her Harbingers? abt me?? well would your highness like to come to our palace perchance???!!!!”

= have u ever been seduced and worshipped by a god and her country?? would you like to- ??? ← Childe actually

and with that convinces you to come straight to the Harbingers/Tsaritsa’s very home

No, you’re not just spoiled.

No, you’re not just pampered.

You are cosseted and coveted.

The Tsaritsa makes her first in person appearance to the people in decades to personally announce your return, and to get a festival going to literally parade you into the capital lol

And tbh it was kind of shocking how quickly the people of Snezhnaya are able to whip out the party supplies, within days of traveling via horses/sleds/carriage/trains all kinds of transportation, u arrived at the capital in full swing of a parade for you

The Tsaritsa herself in what looks like a genshin-ified kokoshnik, the elaborate headress draped with a veil so thin it looks like frost covering her face,

flocked on either side by her harbingers in full (kinda goth) ceremonial outfits waiting on your arrival too

needless to say you are properly smitten intimidated

and you stay nervous around them for the first few days or so,

that is before you run into the weekly, what you would call “family dinner nights”, but they call “dinner reports”…

in which Childe, the only one you’d been comfortable enough around to be a bit more genuine to, and surprisingly the only one to quickly adapt to your speech after traveling with you for days, would translate for you what tf you were saying to them vs. what everyone at the table was saying to you/around you

you would also like to propose other titles for these weekly dinner meetings you’re invited to, aka “family feud dinner night/family fight night/harbinger on harbinger hate night/fruit on fruit crimes, if you will” 💀

the Tsaritsa is just peacefully talking to you abt any and everything, bc ofc Pierro’s on her right, and ur on her left

(she and Pierro are surprisingly soft spoken, very polite, and able to say something interesting/take an interest in whatever subject you all end up on)

u don't think you've ever been more comfortable and on such equal footing around ppl sm older than you (what are older ppl to you, but to them ur literally fucking eldritch with how ancient u are, and u can tell with how they treat u like it lmao)

hard cut back to the rest of the table:

an argument that just gets louder and louder has broken out between Childe, Dottore, La Signora, and Pantalone abt who should get free time with you first/get to do smth with you first as you get over ur adjustment period here, Childe has taken his butter knife to throw and just barely missed Dottore’s eye, and it is now embedded in the back of his fancy chair (the servants placing down dinner courses just move abt w/the most bored expressions on their faces)

(u send half the table if this group gets out of hand and u just: “Please shut the fuck up, each of ur comebacks take 30 minutes and it’s killing me” 💀 bc they're the most likely to understand u too, even Pierro/Capitano/Pulcinella chuckle a little, and u think the Tsaritsa smirked under her veil)

ur honestly too scared to see what Scarmouche, Sandrone, and Arlecchino are arguing about, because they're arguing so silently further down the table. They have murder in their eyes.

Columbina and Capitano are having a peaceful collab over weapons, armor, and clothing to offer you, Pulcinella is close enough to both participate in that convo and in you, Pierro, and the Tsaritsa’s convos too

by the 2nd week you've decided to choose chaos, and get them to play board games together sometimes (they cant all make it all the time, tbh u don't know if u can handle that either) but groups of them will play at a time

u remembered early on what a dick Dottore was, and sentenced asked if he’d like to play this new board game called “Monopoly” from ur world with Childe, Pantalone, Pierro, Arlecchino, La Signora, and Scaramouche all together :)

(so what ur trying to bring khaenri’ah part 2 down on his head as punishment?? u owe scara and collei that at least)

Columbina is more than happy to help get you Harbinger-like clothes to wear since ur so interested in the style!! (yes yesss get converted, she already has a title picked out for you)

she also giggles anytime u talk abt whether u like an outfit or not, bc u just “no thank you I’d rather wear a trash bag than that shirt, but lets try another?”

meanwhile the tailors in the background u could literally edit them to one of those videos where it just zooms in on their faces with a vine boom of shock

like Pierro, ur unranked, just above the other Harbingers really, as it wouldn't do to make you the 12th Harbinger or smth

the names they gave you being, “The Playwright” or “The Renaissance” or even “Drammaturgo”

(pls anyone who speaks Italian correct if I'm wrong ToT )

ok but the first time, unsurprisingly, one of them got snappy with you, likely Scara I would think,

Scaramouche, pissy: “And what shall we do if it appears our almighty god is perhaps a descender who is entirely human? Why I dare say you’d be transgressing on privileges that were never yours to begin with!”

Every other Harbinger, the Tsaritsa herself, the servants, the frost on the walls: 😶😦😨😶‍🌫️

You, unbothered, still eating and fully expecting this moment: “I don't want to hear it from someone who has god-mommy issues. You shouldn’t have an opinion about me, ur biased.”

yeah, so obviously, they’re emotionally all attached now whether they know it or not, and this was of course the moment they realized they're god would fit in so perfectly here

(the other nations are going to have to pry you from Snezhnaya from their cold dead hands, esp since u now have legal deniability to visit bc ur technically a Harbinger, only commanded by her majesty lol)

(Scaramouche, Arlecchino, and Sandrone were fighting about who gets the room nearest to your quarters lol)

Askerian: and the protagonist! he LOVES the main character, so he also looks favorably upon him getting everything life owes him including sex, he supposes, but! none of his wives LOVE HIM PROPERLY. hm. let's flame the author over that. Askerian: anyway so then he lands himself in the body of a teacher to a 14 year old abused kid. who is a kid! and a very adorable kid. yeee time to spoil the shit out of him Askerian: the issue there is that there's a system/game manager forcing plot points and assigning quests and no matter what he does some things must happen, such as his betraying his poor clingy baby student so that he can rise magnificently from a hell dimension and take his place as a demon king Askerian: so when his adorable little student comes back Pissed and starts doing things that look very similar to what happened in the book just before murdering his evil teacher, he starts running. but he also really wants to help his student survive and even thrive! but also, not die in the process PLEASE.

Askerian: meanwhile luo binghe went from abused by sensei to spoiled by sensei to "i will marry sensei when i grow up" to "STOP RUNNING FROM ME AND EXPLAIN"

Askerian: main character can't explain, btw. he'd die.

Askerian: as a kid he's adorable but also already "i hear what you said! i understand it! gonna do what i felt was right tho" Askerian: after he's been given unconditional love by sensei!!!!! but also betrayed by sensei!!! he doesnt know which way is up anymore. it's kinda clear that in the book he was from, his original version was using "seduction and sex with this random new girl that will disappear from the plot in five chapters" to paper the holes Askerian: like, couldn't trust anybody's love because he never had any, but desperately needed it. Askerian: this one's had a taste before, and doesn't know what he must have done to lose it, but he will fix it!! but only sensei will do Askerian: main character keeps expecting him to hook up with dozens of girls and it never happens and he's ?? while also totally missing all the admirers HE is gathering Askerian: also issues because he's a half demon, and sensei said he thought good demons must exist, but he was still rejected on reveal, so does that mean "there can be good demons but you're not one" Askerian: and since he's naturally smooth and it easily goes into manipulation, everything he does or say, sensei takes it as some underhanded threat or plot! he was a demon king in the book ok?! Askerian: book him was NOT nice Askerian: anyway a REALLY fun read

Askerian: though don't expect the sex scene to be good because it's a half-feral "fixing you via magic sex" and he canonically has huge meat :X Askerian: and since he has ZERO experience it uh, goes badly Askerian: tbh the author's gift does not lie with sexy porn

but tbf the point of the scene was NOT to be sexy, soooo...

hihi omg i just had the most fun night ever last night with my friends 😭

we competed at this speech and debate tournament and basically it lasts all day long from like 7 am to 9 pm and it goes for two days and yesterday we went around doing the rounds and we ended up winning a lot of shit but like the 12 or so of us ended up driving to mcdonalds at like 8 pm to eat right before awards started 😭😭 and after like 40 minutes like 10 ppl called us screaming that awards are starting so we all js ran out and ended up speeding at like an 80 in a freaking neighborhood and one thing led to another and we were having like a car race getting there and cursing out each other while driving and luckily there were no cops nearby.. 🥺

ended up arriving in like a record 1 min 30 sec when it shoudlve taken around 7 minutes or more..

just wanted to share this wild memory cs it was so much freaking fun!

how was your day? did you have any fun memories made recently?

Yesterday I went Christmas shopping with my sister and we literally got no shopping done for anyone except ourselves bc a new kpop store opened in the mall and we spent so much time & money there 😭 I got so many pcs, the Christmas Evel album a Blitzers album AND the Minho’s noeasy jewel case 👼 we had dinner at my parents’ place and watched Spirited Away and it was so comforting! Today I went out to get the new Ateez album OOOPS and we’re gonna put up our Christmas tree! I only moved out of my parents’ place after graduating college a year ago so these little things are so fun and comforting to me, I’m so excited to make more memories in our little apartment 🥹🎄 thank you for asking bestie I love you endlessly and I hope you continue to make fun memories and stay safe!!! Hello! I've been keeping up with your blog for a while now and I really like it :) I'm mute myself (progressive mutism probably) and a lot of the things you post about it are like you've reached into my brain and written down all the thoughts I've had about myself over the years. I've never known anyone like me so I've spent most of my life thinking I'm weird and selfish and rude so it's comforting to know I'm not alone.

The reason I'm braving my social anxiety to send this is because I read your post about not wanting people to point out when you make sounds and you said that it might be specific to you? I totally agree with your post though! When I think back to being stuck in public school, the absolute worst thing was when I would speak (quite rare) and people would be like "omg you can talk :O" rather than actually responding to what I was saying. It made me feel like I was seen as lesser than them or some kind of circus act to gawp at. I would start anxiously policing my own behaviour to make no noise so I wouldn't have to feel like that again. If it happened in a space that I thought was safe, it would immediately become unsafe to me.

P.S. The roses on your posts are super cool so I'm going to sign this with a plant that I like.

hey 🌵! yeah same, I’ve become scared to make many sounds, partly because scared people would notice me, and partly because scared that it is too close to speaking (like, mouth-sounds, although not words/speech) and people might expect me to actually be able to speak to them. and when people go “oh you can speak”, I just want to be this absolutely silent being, so no-one will notice me or pay attention. i don't want them to know i can make any sound at all.

my SAD (mixed with some depersonalisation) meant I was scared people would build up a profile of who am, so that they could judge me, or draw attention. so didn’t speak and didn’t show emotion, but then people would say shit like “he never speaks”, so the Quiet One became a label in itself, if that makes sense. the worst is when people provide any commentary on my actions, even though they are perfectly normal actions in the social context. and talk about me in third person.

have been so scared about whether things are audible. went through school never drinking water because swallow-sound. breathing is the worst, am pretty sure I’ve taught myself a new way to breathe so it won’t make a sound, but I have this problem with my ears that makes me sometimes unable to judge how loud I breathe so I just have to stop breathing. it’s like my lungs freeze idk.

used to be unable to eat at school either, not because of sounds, but because arms would freeze up and couldn’t physically lift the food, let alone chew it. and that made me hungry at school A LOT, so stomach rumbles were the worst because so unpredictable and uncontrollable; couldn’t concentrate on anything else, and trying to control what’s happening within your body just doesn’t work.

thing with sounds is that they’re perfectly normal. sometimes I try to listen to those around me, instead of myself, and realise that they’re all breathing audibly, talking carelessly. they don’t try to freeze their behaviour or sounds in order to seem normal or fit in, yet they are accepted just as they are.

auctober huge post

hello, i have decided to speed run doing the auctober thingy because i am bored and need to do something. so, let's get down to it.

STIMS omg where do i start. i fucking love stimming. my main stims i do with my hands. flapping, moving my hands in fists, doing crab claws, tippy tappy fingers, touching nice textures, doing a surfer dude hand thing and shaking my hand, etc. most of my stimming is done using my body, but i also love visual stims! i'm very picky about what visual stims i like, though.

INFO DUMPING im a pain in the arse for this. thank god for my partner who puts up with my constant info dumping. my current interests are the gnostic gospels, and ancient christian religion as a whole. my long term SpIns have been greek mythology, the victorian era and anatomy.

COLLECTIONS i collect books, stationery, and crystals! i love all of them so much. i kinda have an issue with stationery, particularly pens, because my dyspraxia makes my handwriting terrible so i much prefer to type- however, i keep buying pens i don't need!

ANIMAL FRIENDS i love dogs, when i'm not overstimulated. i prefer stuffed animals to real ones, though. cats make me happy, because of their general chill-ness, and they're much more palatable when i'm having a hard time as they require less attention and are less stimulating.

MUSIC my biggest obsession is music. i love most genres, i love all different types of music. i usually hyperfixate on a song that i then listen to for days, and then move onto a new one when the previous one stops being stimulating. the only time i don't want to listen to music is literally only when i'm having a meltdown.

STIM TOYS stim toys are awesome! i love fidget cubes and tangles, but like chewellery the most.

HYPERFOCUS god, the stuff i've got done when i'm hyperfocused. i did all of my studying for my a level exams (british exams for the last year of school before university aged 18 ish) in about a week, and i hyperfocused SO FUCKING HARD. i forgot to eat, forgot to drink, didn't sleep much, just worked. i do not endorse this behaviour, i was horribly burnt out after. however, hyperfocus can be a superpower! i've had some of my best creative ideas when i'm hyperfocusing.

DIVERSE i think it's really important that the autistic community, and more widely the neurodiverse community, is more inclusive of poc who are autistic. there's a serious problem with the whitewashing of autism, partially down to media representation and also due to misdiagnosis of autistic people of colour with other disorders.

COMFORT FOOD bread <33 chicken nuggets <33 chips <33 pasta <33 rice <33 anything plain and not overwhelming.

SELF-CARE god, self-care is difficult. i procrastinate doing self care all the time, even with basic hygiene. something that helps me is having a sticker chart for when i complete basic self-care tasks like brushing my teeth, showering, etc.

NEURODIVERGENT COMMUNITY there's a lot of problems with the nd community, but also a lot of positive aspects. i find misinformation is a big problem, especially on tiktok- like, sitting with your hand under your chin does not make you autistic (genuinely seen someone say this). however, the spreading of awareness that autism doesn't just present as a white cis straight boy with a genius level IQ and who acts 'robotic', and instead that autism presents itself in lots of different ways, especially in women and AFAB people.

SENSORY EUPHORIA woodpecker. sounds. i can't express to you, how happy this sound makes me.

ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION i use sign language when i lose speech, and also write things down. i'm privileged to not lose speech regularly, only when i'm very overwhelmed, and so i only really use these methods of alternative communication when i need to.

VERBAL STIMS i like to copy tiktok sounds, tbh, and famous vines. it's fun. i also say 'beep', buzz like a bee, and make other sounds that would not be considered neurotypical when i'm happy.

AU-DHD i have both autism and adhd, and having both makes it so that for some of my behaviours it is difficult to identify where they come from. what's helped me is learning to accept that it doesn't matter exactly what disorder causes which symptom, but instead learning how to cope with the symptom itself, if that makes sense? having autism and adhd can feel very polarising at times, with two disorders that can feel like they conflict so often, but with proper management life can get easier.

UNMASKING i'm working on this one. as a moderate support needs autistic, to some extent, i can't mask. i can't appear neurotypical all the time. even when i'm masking as hard as i can, people can still notice that there's something different. this has caused me a lot of self hatred and internalised ableism, which is something i'm working with a therapist to undo.

SENSORY PROFILE i flip-flop between being sensory seeking and sensory avoidant. depends on whether i'm under or overstimulated, tbh.

LGBTQ+ i identify as queer, and pansexual as a collective. due to being a system, my gender is all over the place, but i like xenogenders and neopronouns a lot.

ECHOLALIA i used to get in so much trouble for doing this. learning that suppressing my stims like echolalia could lead to an increased risk of burnout has led to a wakeup call for me, and has really helped me to learn to accept who i am and the way i stim.

SPECIAL INTERESTS greek mythology, ancient religion, the victorian era.

COMFORT MEDIA good omens, doctor who, marauders era harry potter (fuck jk tho)

SELF-ADVOCACY unfortunately, being autistic and afab has meant that i've had to really learn to advocate for myself while with medical professionals. it's a difficult journey, and i wish so much love and support to anyone going through the medical system.

DISABLED i identify as disabled, and also Mad. disabled isn't a bad word. there is nothing wrong with disabled people. we exist, we take up space, and we have inherent worth.

10/10 love this song, loved it since it came out. this is EXACTLY what i have needed.

2. Heartbreak Feels So Good

i know this song came out before the album, but i never got around to listening to it. so this is my first time hearing it.

it was pretty good song for the most part. the lyrics are a little meh, but i do like the "heartbreak feels so GOOD" part. vocals on point as usual. kinda zoned out at one point lol

Favorite Lyric: We'll cry later or cry now, but baby / Heartbreak feels so good

3. Hold Me Like a Grudge

omg… i love this??? so fucking much????????

it has such a good bassline, such a good song to groove to. i think patrick's vocals get a little bit lost in the music, but it still sounds really good. i love the lyrics. i wasn't sure what to expect with this song but i genuinely loved it the entire time i listened to it.

Favorite Lyric: Part-time soulmate, full-time problem / Hold me like a grudge

4. Fake Out

heard the first chords of this song and i was like 'oh, this is gonna be a sad one' and i was right.

the lyrics are such a gut punch. if you're someone like me who kinda lives in fantasy and daydreams to get by, this song hurts a lot. this song reminds me of a lot of a paramore's song - super upbeat but lyrically melancoly. i love it and it almost made me cry.

correction, i was looking over the lyrics for one i liked the most, and i started crying. so… thanks fob.

Favorite Lyric: We did it for futures that never came / And for pasts that we're never gonna change (but honestly there are so many in this song i could have picked any of them)

5. Heaven, Iowa

in the first half of the song, i was like ehh, idk. it was reading like a phil collins song or just like pure 80s, and i was kinda on the fence about it.

but the chorus. omg the chorus. patrick…. THEM VOCALS. seriously he is so good.

i like the lyrics a lot. the ending was fantasic.

love the general vibe of this song - upbeat but everything crashing and burning around me. that's me everyday lol

i think the lyrics are so personal in this song. i think we can all relate to changing ourselves for someone else, especially when we love them and want to be with them as long as possible.

first off love that the previous song blended into this one. always a fave of mine when songs on albums do that.

again, they're trying to make me hurt, that's all i will accept at this point.

this feels like such a nostaligic song, too. god. didn't think this would be the third song on fob's album i would be crying to, but here i am.

this song is such a sad ending, but also not?? like it just feels like almost admitting you were upset all this time, and now you're left with what to do with finally telling everyone how you felt.

seriously so good. vocally, i mean… cmon.

Favorite Lyric: I used to be a real go-getter / I used to think it'd all get better

OVERALL: this is seriously one of fob's best albums to date. it isn't the same as anything else they've released, and it's so much more mature than previous album. musically, it has a lot of similarities to past projects, but i think it takes on a life of it's own and is unique amongst all of their other works. a lot more groovy than i ever expected them to sound like. lyrically, gut punching. thanks for making me cry three times. wish i could see you guys in concert but yall REFUSE to come to philly. and coming to camden does not count !!

Midnights

It´s only a couple of hours until Midnights release and since i don´t do tiktoks or YT videos, i wanted to use this to hold my memory of the night midnights was announced.

In the weeks leading up to the VMA´s, Taylor Nation was going crazy with their posts about voting, so i was pretty convinced that she would show up.

The red carpet was scheduled to start at 1.15 am my time and the show at 3 am. It was my first day of a two weeks holiday, so i wouldn´t mind waking up early, so i set my alarm at 2.55 am and went to bed around 11 pm. I woke up on my own around 1.30 am and after some time watching it on my smartphone, i went to the living room and watched it on the tv.

By the time it was 2.15 am i was sceptical if she would show up, bc there was total radio silence of Taylor and Taylor Nation on social media and no sign of her on the carpet.

Then Oscar de la Renta posted a pic of a dress and the caption was mirrorball lyrics… and half of swiftie twitter was like „She´s not gonna wear THAT dress“ and the other half was „OMG, she´s coming“.

I wasn´t sure what to think, but i didn´t have much time to linger in my thoughts, bc at around 2.20 am or a little later, Tree Paine, a legend herself, was spotted at the VMA´s by attending Swifties and that was when everyone started to freak out, bc when Tree is there, then Taylor is there to. And a couple of minutes later she was on the red carpet in THAT dress and everyone, not just Swiftie twitter, started to freak out.

Bc of he dress, everyone on Swiftie twitter was convinced that Rep TV was coming, bc that dress was screaming Rep, especially the LWYMMD bathtub scene. There were rumours about a performance, but i didn´t think she would perform, i was just going to enjoy the show.

She was seeted right next to the stage, so you could see her pretty often and shortly after the show started, she received the award for best longform video and in her speech she said something about having done „at least one thing right“. Hello? Rep TV anyone?

A little after that, she was not on her seat anymore and she hasn´t been seen for about an hour i think. I thought okay, she was informed she wouldn´t win Video oft he year and she left. There was no sign of her, no backstage pictures, nothing, so part of twitter was thinking the same. Then, i think it was in the last break, attending Swifties tweeted that she is back and everything was alright again :)

When the time came that the video oft he year winner was announced and it was ATW, i was so happy for her :D

And then she made this totally innocent face and said:

I thought this would be a fun moment to tell you… (meaningful five second pause), that my brand new album is coming out october 21…“ and this was the moment a sound has left my mouth that sounded like nothing i ever did before and if my neighbours were awake, i wonder why no one checked in on me :D

And she continued with „ … and i will tell you more about it at midnight!“. It was 5.20 am by now, 15 minutes earlier i was tired as hell, now i was wide awake and couldn´t believe what i was hearing. Needless to say twitter was freaking out. So of course i stayed up for another 40 minutes (and a little longer after that) to find out everything about Midnights there was to find out. I went back to bed at around 6.30, slept for another 2 hours and when i woke up, i read all of the tweets of the other european swifties, who didn´t stay or wake up and just found out about Midnights, it was hilarious.

This was one of my most favourite nights on twitter or as a Swiftie in general. And now it´s only a couple more hours until we can finally hear it. :D

Can´t wait, i´m gonna meet you at Midnight.

Hello foxy! How are you? I think I‘ve been MIA for like a month? Feels like an eternity. I’ve been lurking undercover in the meantime and I’ve been keeping track of everything you’ve posted so far so I can read it and enjoy once I’m in a better headspace. September started wonderfully since a family member passed away (Yep, another one, what a great year) and I’m honestly emotionally exhausted 😅 I spent these weeks trying to keep myself as busy as possible and then randomly bursting into tears and it’s frustrating as fuuuuck because I’m usually always rational and in control of my emotions so being all over the place is very new and scary and I don’t like it😵‍💫.

Anyway on the happy side I did my last exam for the first year😭❤️ (and if you have an idea of how (disorganized🥲) Italian university is you would understand how hard it is to do 7 exams in the actual span of an academic year so i’m very proud of myself 🎉). It was my English Exam and the reason I’m telling you this is because I mentioned you out of panic☺️✌🏻. There was a speaking assessment with a mother tongue teacher and as I was speaking he stopped me and asked me if had ever been to the US because of my accent (okay so telling you this is embarrassing AF because it feels like I’m bragging or that I think I’m the most important and unique English speaker in the world I SWEAR I DON’T PLEASE I HATE THIS EHEIIESJS. I have a strong American accent [which is probably not even an accent to you 😅] and erased any trace of “foreign” accent because I learned English when I was very young by hearing it on tv shows (hence, all the mistakes I make are because I learned grammar by hearing it in speech and never actually sat down to study it🤡) and everyone was American so that’s how I pronounce words now lol. Thank god you we can’t talk in person or there’s a chance you could humble me real quick😂). Anyway I explained it to him and he said “well but I’m assuming you have some American friends you keep in touch with” and don’t ask me why (maybe because you’re the only American person I “know” lol) I thought about you and I was thinking “okay so we never talked, I don’t know what her voice sounds like, don’t know her name and for all I know she could be a fever dream and never existed in this timeline” then I panicked and told him “yes, she’s a writer. Her name’s Rachel.” So now your name is Rachel. Take it or leave it🤪.

but OMG that story is so funnyyyyy. Didn't I give someone in one of my stories a girlfriend named Rachel? Maybe? Or did you think of Friends in your panic? Either way, it's so funny. But I'm not surprised your professor can tell you regularly speak to people in English, your English fluency is so natural seeming! Rachel haha. I wish that was actually my name and I could be like "woah that's crazy you guessed it!!" 😂

My voice is muppety and somewhat accented, unfortunately, despite my trying to completely shake my regional accent 😅

I was at some Nerd Competition (destination imagination, to be specific. do they still do that one?) on the other side of the state towards the end of middle school and it was absolutely dumping rain, but my whole team was just left to run loose until it was time for our presentation so of course we were outside climbing retaining walls the whole time. and I’m this tiny waif child and I’m soaked to the bone and it was just a day trip so I didn’t bring any extra clothes, but it was late into the day so when my mom went to buy me a Branded Sweatshirt to change into they only had plus size ones left, it was like a 2x or something. and then I wore it nearly every day for years, to the point where it got so ratty and full of holes they bought me a replacement in the same color and size (with an osu logo instead).

i remember i used to do that all the time. trying to get back on my normal sleep schedule, bc i've been waking up at like 10am recently. i'd stay up until 12pm and wake up at like 8pm all sweaty and groggy and confused, and then i'd look out the window and see the sun setting and i'd be like "what time is it" T-T

awesome! did you have a good time school supply shopping? that's something i usually enjoy a lot. i'm hoping to be able to go by myself or with my friend this year, since my mom sort of stresses me out a lot when we go together.

i'm gonna be a junior </3 everybody says it's the worst. i'm sure it is. every junior i know looked like their life force was sucked out of them towards the end of the school year last year. i have a feeling this school year's gonna go by in a flash.

- the plot exposition in this show is so *chefs kiss* my favourite thing about Barry is it never underestimates the audience. (Its so fucking meta and self aware) the show presents itself to a smart viewer who can glean the story development through the details in set dressing, blocking, lighting, sound, cinematography. It all works to tell the story so perfectly and doesn't try to hammer in the dumb shit we can know just from visual queues with bogged down or overdone dialogue.

- this phone call where she's apologizing after he yelled at her (1) and he's just acting like nothing even happened (2) is a very real (and again wildly self aware and meta) depiction of what an abusive and unhealthy relationship is like! She's stuck doing everything she can (making him dinner, putting on his fav music, buying him a new controller, saying she wants to hear that he's happy) just to placate this damaged man to try and keep his wrath away. This poor girl is just like me... can't keep herself away from damaged men.

-also the writing of her character to always think of herself first in every single scenario is just very organic and consistent and you'd barely notice it if she wasn't so goddam annoying

- "I don't understandwhy you're leaving me" "you have too many dogs." With the visual gag of all the dogs chasing Cousineau in the background 🤣 (counted over 20 btw)
