In the books, Medusa was a massive turning point for Percy and his relationship with the Olympians. The line ‘Do not let yourself become a pawn to the Olympians’ stays and carries over throughout the other series and is just a major pinnical to how Percy views himself and the gods.

In the show, I think Medusa will be more so a turning point for Annabeth, who, up until this point, blindly worshipped Athena in a plain mirror to Medusa. The line ‘I’m not like you child, I am you’ I think will be the line that sticks with Annabeth across these quests.

Im very interested to see how this carries out.

The Harry Potter reboot!

I will say this!

They are only making this reboot now because the first season of PJO will drop soon and they are afraid that it will be more popular than Harry Potter(which, let’s be real it is). It is constructed and written waaay better than the the wizarding world.

This is only fear of what the success of the work of Rick Riordan will do for their franchise.

The only reason they aren’t as popular is because it never got an actual good adaption, while the Harry Potter movies were a huge success and brought to its overall popularity.

Ok I don’t know how to respond to coments here so I guess I’m gonna do it like this.

This isn’t about JKR’s politics, I don’t give a shit about that right now. I’m just mad that the only reason why they’re remaking the already adapted story instead of adapting something else from the same universe that already has a fanbase(marauders, the founding of Hogwarts, the cursed child era, the gaunt family, the black family, the three brothers maybe, Tom Riddle’s era…)

PJO ISN’T more popular than HP because it DIDN’T have the adaptations that HP did. If PJO got a good adaptation from the beginning, like HP did then yes it would have been more popular.

I’m not saying that it is now, I’m saying that it has the potential to be.

But it isn’t, because it didn’t get a decent adaptation.

Great time to remember that, in the books, Percy didn’t actually come to understand just how terrible the gods are (as a whole) until The Last Olympian. And he didn’t start to get bitter as hell about it until even after that. The show is doing a great job of setting this up, in my opinion.

Ok no I do have to make it it’s own post bc I don’t remember the book’s scene in detail but Annabeth seeing the fates cut a string at the arch is so fascinating. Bc we know that’s Luke’s string. He’s not dying soon, but it’s been decided when he will die.

The moment the fates decide that Luke will die and when is right after Percy sacrifices himself. Right after he shows Annabeth his care and loyalty. That she is worth saving. That she doesn’t deserve the wrath intended for her. A set of dominoes has just been toppled and when they all finally fall, she will stand between Luke and Percy and choose Percy. From this moment, from this early on, Luke’s fate is sealed.

It’s so funny to see how much older Walker looks as the series continues, despite it not actually being all that long.

I think we all forget what boys ages 12-17 are like, in terms of physical growth. My younger brother went away for a month and came back 5 inches taller and with a fully adult-sounding voice that he did not have when he left. Walker looking like he’s clearly grown is not completely implausible 😂

i know it's a while off, but ...

i wonder how they're going to do aphrodite in the show. like, her appearance is CONSTANTLY changing, right?? because she looks like each person's ideal beauty, basically.

so i wonder how they're going to make her face and hair and everything shift and change all the time.

because one second, to percy, she looks like annabeth. the next, like someone else.

i wonder how they're going to edit that and have it transition between each "look" that percy sees her as.

This might be a hot take, but I actually like that Percy figured out Luke was the traitor at the last minute. There were A LOT of clues that would’ve been hard to ignore, and he ignored them for as long as he could. And it’s clear that even after accusing Luke, he’s still surprised and heartbroken at Luke’s confirmation of his suspicions. He was holding out hope, guys!!

Also, the Betrayal Scene flows better as an exchange of dialogue and a swordfight than it did, in the books, as a monologue and a scorpion sting. This also leaves a bigger impact on the viewers and characters because it’s more emotional.
