Everyone’s always fighting about “Percy let Bianca die” or “It wasn’t Percy’s fault”.

So I’m going to show both points of views.

Nico: Percy was Nico’s first perception of a hero. He was what Nico thought to be the greatest, coolest, strongest, etc person ever. His favourite game come to life. Soon after, he developed a crush on said hero, who he trusted with his and Bianca’s life. When Bianca left to join the hunt, Nico still thought that Percy could save her if ever she was in danger, because that’s what a great hero would do. When Bianca never came back, Nico thought that Percy, what Nico thought to be everything a hero could be, broke his promise. He got angry. His sister left him? No. Percy let her leave him. It’s all his fault! But Nico still had a huge crush on him and could never do anything to hurt him. So he ran. Ran until he could never see Percy again.

Percy : All Percy knew was that he had to go and bring to demigods safely back to camp with the help of his friends, Thalia, Grover, and Annabeth. When he found them, Percy saw himself in Nico, except Nico was a tad bit happier than he was. When Bianca tried to become a huntress, Percy did his best to try and stop her from becoming one. What about Nico? He seriously thought Bianca and Nico needed to get to camp. (Probably because Bianca had had no training and she was already becoming a 2000 year olds huntress’ right hand helper???) When Percy decided to go on the quest and Nico asked him to keep Bianca safe, Percy promised to try. Which he did. He TRIED to save her. He never broke his promise. Keep in mind, Percy was also 14. A child. He has been training for roughly 2-4 months. It was a huge quest considering what he has trained for. Percy only wanted to keep Nico and Bianca safe. Her death wasn’t his fault. When he got back to camp, Chiron told him to go and tell Nico. ( I MEAN SERIOUSLY!! WHICH KIND OF ADULT ASKS A KID TO GO AND TELL ANOTHER KID THAT THEIR ONLY FAMILY MEMBER JUST DIED?? ESPECIALLY THE ONE THEY TRUSTED SO DEARLY.) . (Ok, I’m just really mad at Chiron for A LOT of reasons.)

Personally, I say it wasn’t Percy’s fault. BUT. Is still understand Nico’s POV and what some people believe that it was Percy’s fault. Honestly, I just think Rick did both of them dirty. I mean, c’mon.

i don't know man. but sometimes i think about percy breaking the news to nico that his sister's dead. and nico plummetting into depression, screaming at the boy he once thought of as a hero to die. and percy watching this ten-year-old disappear into the shadows mid sobbing. and percy's shaking and traumatized and exhausted. but he forces that pain down his throat and accepts the role as the prophecy kid so nico has a chance to create a future he wants. while percy's is set in stone. and i don't know man.

Hades came, he served absolute looks, he blackmailed his nephew, he grossly misjudged the situation, his daddy issues got triggered, he did a complete 180 by deciding yes actually he is going to steal his brother's shit, that backfired, and now arguably he's more confused than he was before Percy broke into his castle.

thinking about how they said grover was affected the most out of everyone bc he was alone and how nico and bianca stayed for 70 years inside that hotel and didn't forget each other bc they were always within reach and how that little detail makes their story even more devastating bc they got through it together and the moment they got out they get separated and then bianca never comes back

something about Hephaestus saying "you're a good kid, Annabeth" really stands out to me. he didn't point out the very obvious about her, like her intellect and interest in his creations, or her hubris in thinking she could dismantle the chair. he said that she's a good kid. because Hephaestus was mistreated by the gods. because Annabeth was shunned by Athena. because he believes that gods shouldn't treat their own children like that and he wants to be better. because he knows how much it means to a little girl who's fought for approval from her own mother her whole life, whose father neglected her. because he wants to break the cycle. don't touch me
