Nightmares tasting of you.

“Percy, please open the door.” He had been locked in the bathtub for almost an hour and a half now, and she knew- Gods she KNEW- he needed space. But she was getting really impatient and not talking with him would only make things worse.

From the other side of the door, the humming of the fan was the only audible sound.

That night, they hang out on Percy’s apartment, and since Sally and Paul went to visit the latter’s family, they fell asleep together after having pizza for dinner and a movie. But of course nothing could be that perfect. Percy had a nightmare. A Tartarus’ kind of nightmare.

Four months had passed since they had this little trip to hell, and the side effects had started to show when the situation finally calmed down and they came to a routine. It was not the first time they had these nightmares and they already knew how to calm each other down. They knew what to do; they hummed at each other, hugging and caressing them. This time was different, though. Percy dreamt of that time on Tartarus when he tortured the godess of misery with her own poison. He had enjoyed it, he couldn’t deny that. He couldn’t also deny the look on Annabeth’s face when she snapped him out of it. A long time had passed since he saw her so terryfied, almost like when she was 14 years old facing a particularly horrifying monster. And now the monster was him. This nightmare was not only that memory but here he couldn’t seem to stop this dark side of him and it only seemed to became stronger and hungrier making the Annabeth of his dream scream of horror.

He had woken up at 6am that saturday, drenched in cold sweat. When Annabeth grabbed his arm, he flinched. She looked hurt at first but when she saw his ocean eyes becoming a tsunami, she knew what this was about. He promised her he would take a quick bath to calm down. After and hour of waiting, Annabeth started to really worry. And here they were now.

“I know it can be scary. But I’m not scared of you. I promise.” Nothing. She gave a little thud on the door with her forehead. “Babe you don’t have to face this alone. You know I have also experienced this. I-” her voice broke for a moment. She took a shaky breath. ”Percy I swear to you on the River Styx, I’m not fucking scared of you.”

The tone on Annabeth’s voice -like she would start to cry at any moment- made him automatically open the door. The bath was so tiny he just had to stretch his arm to unlock it. His girlfriend entered and closed the door behind her and sat on the toilet, not breaking contact from his bloodshot eyes.

“Hey,” she began softly. She managed a sad little smile and gently grabed his hair “don’t you dare do that ever again.” He was only wearing his pajama bottoms, the water of the bathtub reached the base of his throat, and all of his face and hair were wet, meaning he was too tired and lost in thoughts to even bother to use his powers.

He groaned. “I just can’t bear with this. With me.” He said pointing at him with his thumbs, trying to give her a sarcastic smile but she knew better that he was just trying to hide his sadness. Annabeth’s eyes suddenly became a storm.

“I’m serious. Don’t try to face this by yourself. You know that I can help you. You’re not gonna break me in any way.”

Percy looked at her, grabbed her other hand and kissed her knuckles.

“I know. But, Annabeth, I still I want you to know I would never dare to do you harm. In any way. But what if I don’t really know myself like I thought? What if that dream was showing me something else? Imagine if some shit controlled me like those arai and something happened. I- I would not be able to live with that.”

Annabeth took his face with both of her hands and gently kissed him.

“Look at me.” He almost had the expression of a sad puppy with his big green eyes looking up at her. “Even if you tried, you could never harm me. You, the boy who I now since we were 12 and saw him grow up to a man who is here with me right now. I know you. Better than anyone.”

“I don’t know, Annabeth. Ugh I just-” he put his palms on his eyes. “It’s not just that nightmare. Sometimes I do enjoy killing monsters. Deep down there’s this part of me that does it and I cannot deny it. Even Rachel has told me how I look in that mood. All this obscure power I never asked for is here waiting to be used somehow and I don’t know what would happen if it suddenly came out combined with this PTSD shit. I’m not stupid, I know pushing you away won’t do better for neither of us but if I’m in this state and cannot control myself, well, having somoene around is not the saffest thing, in my opinion.”

Annabeth rested her forehead on his and sighed. Then she kissed both of his eyelids. Then his nose. Then his cheeks, his forehead and finally his mouth, more intense than before.

“And I will be there with you till the end. I love you more than life itself and no creature can separate us, you hear me, Jackson?”

He laughed and a pair of tears rolled downs his cheeks.

“Hear you loud and clear, Wise Girl. But the fear you had that time down there was real. If I ever cause that to you ever again just tell me and... I don’t know what I would do, actually.”

“Percy Jackson. I did feared you that time. That doesn’t change my last chessy statement. I know there’s deep darkness inside you. Everyone has it, to some degree, and specially people who has suffered. You have also seen the worst of me and yet, here you are with me even if I don’t understand how. But we both are still here commiting to us. And I think everybody has to let that dark side out in some healthy way, and we need to find our way. I will be more than glad to help you do that.”

Percy hugged her tirely and caressed her hair. He sighed.

“Ok. Ok, yeah you win.” They both gave a each other a tired smile. They knew there was no point on dicussing an issue when at the end they were both in common ground: they wouldn’t let go the other that easily.

“Now come here, you!” He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to the bathub with him, getting her all wet. She yelped and laughed with him.

“Oh, well now you ARE in trouble!”

Adam is related to the god of darkness, as much Ruby is related to the god of light.

Or at least, I found something interesting (parallels you know)

I warn you immediatly, don’t expect anything of me. This theory is absolutely garbage... And tbh i’m scared to post it, because I’m affraid about comment people comments... Yeah RWBY’s fandom is terrifying. Please be kind I’m autistic. Before to start you have to know that english isn’t my native language... Sorry for my mistakes... Oh I wanted to thanks my best friend who translate 50% of my theory in english.

AND ALSO. Don’t tell me that wanting Adam to come back is harmful for abused survivors. I’ve been victim of child abuse, and I kept suffuring until my 20 years, due to my past abusives bests friends. So please stay cool.

Why hope his return despite confirmation?

It may be a long time that Kerry confirmed the Adam’s death, it remains a lot of points to brought up. During the interview, it’s important to know that everything is subject to interpretation, and some details didn’t escape me to make me pick over factors that go in my direction. In the first place, before say that he were really die, he answers to that question : “Was there ever doubt that Adam was an unredeemable character or was there a chance that he could have been redeemed ?” It’s pretty funny that Kerry doesn't employing the past when he answers. He doesn't said “he WASN'T irredeemable” no It’s different. He litteraly said : (paraphase for the first one) “I think he's redeemable” and “I wouldn't say he's unredeemable”. Use time present for a dead person is strange. Then he adds everybody has the right to have a second chance but that the circonstances in which he ran into with Blake didn’t help him at all. At the moment where he had to reveal his potential death, Kerry forced a smile and took a big second to say « yes ». After being interrupted, because on of the animator rejoiced of the news, he right away resumed to output on the tone of joke : “yes he's dead, unless with do a Darth Maul. (character who survived to fatal injuries) Ah. Nah he's... We. [Interrupt]. He fall in water fall, there is no body, but like. He got stabbed twice, and hit his head on the way down, like... He's dead." (Paraphrase cuz I don't fully understand why he's saying) "Now the fanbase hate me, that's fine." The fact that the creator make a reference at the character of Darth Maul, it customs clearance of a thing : he’ll not lie. If our beloved faunus comes back, Kerry will already warned us. He wasn’t obligated to say this sentence, mostly that he introduced it after beint interrupted. Furthermore, he sorely insisted on the manner he was killed, to the extent that he looked hesitant in the choice of his words. Others will interpret it like « yes but for him it was so evident to think him dead, that he feels confuse to explain why ». The words of the co-writer are absolute, he wasn’t obligated to do that. I’m not saying is lying, on the contrary. Just because Adam is dead, doesn't mean he stays dead (it sounds stupid, but you'll understand). For the case of Roman and Pyrrha, it had a sens to exclude them psysically. It had repercussions on their entourage. For the case of Adam, it’s the same with Yang and Blake… But not totally. Fans say that by taking away his life, they finally got rid of their demon and that they don’t have to feel haunted anymore. However, even the song « Nevermore » confirmed this, it’s not a victory. They maybe have the feeling of being free of this monster, but something else going continue to curse them : the fact to take a life. As inhuman a person is, we can’t not be affected by this act. However, if they aren’t affected, it’s a huge idleness and a very bad writing lmao. These two girls maybe consider themselves happy to get rid of him for the present moment, but I expect that the karma come to hit them at Atlas. I can't blame them to have kill him, he was a threat, i'm aware of that (btw I've nothing against Bumbleby dw). Which gives hope a sequel for this character, it’s one of « Nevermore »’s passage :

“Another soul consumed by hate and spite Another destroyed life There's no pleasure, there's no joy It's just a story of a boy who lost his way Into shadows strayed He'll see the light of day”

It isn't without know that the musics of Jeff Williams & Casey Lee Williams have a canonical aspect. The best exemple before anything else, it’s Divide and Sacrifice. The « He’ll see the light of a day » can’t be overlooked. I already see some purists come back for the reinterpretation of this passage, because the refrain start with « Nevermore ». This will implies « Nevermore he’ll see the light of day ». In the literal meaning it’s true, but as it happens, we speak about the fact that he lost his way, and that in this shady way he’ll see the light of day. « Lost his way » is related to the fact that he’s consumed by the revenge and the hate, but he never came out. The last sentence refers to the fact he’s going to come out of it. Add « Nevermore » is stupid, because he always lived in this state of mind. He can't nevermore see the light again, since he has never seen it. Second reason for which this interpretation is wrong, is that it breaks the structuring of the verses. For the first choir it works because it gives « That’s in the past and I won’t be controlled ー Nervermore ». But for the second… « Not dying now, we’re protecting our own ー Nevermore ». It lost its sens, and it implies that they will never protect each other. If a schema applies for one, it should be the same for the other. Another reason to doubt of his definitive departure of the series : the lack communication around the character and of the « final » episode which concerned him. I’m not saying that like « they don’t give enough attention to the character », no it’s really something. Why Adam doesn't appear on the promotional poster, when everyone knew he was coming back? Each episodes are review by guests like comedians, at the exception of one : the 12 one, where Adam die. Even for the season 4 they hadn’t done something like that. Strangely, for the occasion they could have invited the one who’s playing Adam, Garrett Hunter, considering that it will be the last episode where he’ll act. It’s the end of the character that he incarnates. Fans could learn more on the dubbing actor, or the antagonist himself, but there was nothing of that. Cause yes, it stays questions withouts answers. Why Adam can’t use his semblance without his weapon ? How his semblance can project such complex shapes ? Why showed the mark SDC to already expel it ? And as we know, CRWBY never confirmed the type of faunus he was… I’ll come back on this subject. In addition of that, Garrett Hunter didn’t address any thank you messages for those who followed him in the whole series, I want to say that it’s truly strange.

Udapte about Garrett Hunter (Adam’s VA)

Garrett Hunter doesn't confirm Adam's death, people think he probably doesn't know anything about it, but I doubt it. During a live of Mega64, somoene talk about performing as Voice Acting. And then, Garrett talks about his “death”. He uses words like “I was killed, I think”, “No body, no deads”, “I keep my fingers crossed”, but at no time does he says “Adam is dead, he will not come back”. On the contrary, he adds “never say never” and he pretends to pray for his return. VAs know things about their characters. Pyrrah's VA knew that her character was going to die from the beginning of the story, and Yang's VA knew she would lose her arm, and that as soon as she was used to her voice. And what's very encouraging is that the VA Pyrrha had confirmed in an interview and Twitter, the death of his character. And there, Garrett mentions word for word that Kerry released during the RWBY Rewind: Darth Maul (twice) But if there was no hopes, he would say he is dead. In this case, we have not learned more. And if he knows of his return, why tell us? And Kerry either did not confirm 100% his death, basically he declares “He died, unless maybe we decide to bring him back”. Another contradiction with the voice actor of Adam. The guy had the balls to says clearly, that the antagonist he embodied, was killed without them using his potential. But , when his buddy reply “everyone is it saying that your death was bullshit”, Garrett says he loved the scene about his confrontation between Yang and Blake, because it was a retaliation of the two characters on him. It's just a big mind fuck at this point. My guess is that he likes this scene because karmas are finally shared between Adam and Bumbleby, and he knows what will happen to his character. Why would he says that Adam's potential was not used, while he loves his death scene? Because he will be able to make a fresh start. That's my thoughts. I know that he must have trouble with his character, because this one receives ALL the salt of the fandom on the face, and there, they will offer him a way to make his character appreciable. And pretending not to know what will happen to the former White Fang leader is completely stupid. The VA know the fate of their character. Kerry and Miles must have planned his come back in advance, they can't hesitate when they’ll write it in the script, because the situation requires it. Why ? Why bring him back to life ?

Adam is THE faunus who stands out the most than the others, there isn’t two like him. In terms of discrimination, it’s the one who suffer the most. His hatred pushed him to ignore that humans had the same rights of him. He’s blind to the extent that he wants to submit them at his own race, the reverse the role of the one who is tyrannized. He has all the reasons of the world to hate this species, nobody could blame him (even if it doesn’t justify his actions of course). He maybe served his purpose with Blake and Yang, he can always serve others. I mean... He just serves to a plot device and that's it... and that's why I feel so frustrated, cuz there so many things to do with him...… First he could go to Mantle and settle squares up with his old executioners, facing directly the Schnee Dust Company (AND WEISS CAN SEE HIS MOTHER FUCKING BRAND). Secondly, we could send another message : « people can change ». The conclusion of Adam was sad because, finally, nobody really deter him to continue in his way, not directly at least. And when they tried to do it it was too late. Never they're told him « what you’re doing is bad, you should live for another thing than revenge ». Blake implied that she was against the murder, but it didn’t go further that. When he was scolded by Ghira, Sienna rather encouraged him after. As soon as we acclaim him, Adam had a click. Him who was treated like a property, an animal, a sub-category being, finally discovers the feeling to be « lionized ». For him, it was the climax of his existence. Also Goldi reminds me that “Adam hated huntsmen and was so set upon destroying their academies bc they're supposed to protect people but they didn't protect him from the scd and in the end he is killed by two (one human) huntresses”. And this end is so bad for his character... Logic would have wanted Blake and Yang to stop this cycle of violence. And there, the writers decided to repeat it by killing him. Bumbleby didn’t deserve to do that, as much as Adam didn’t deserve to die from their hands. This « death » can make him take a new start… Maybe that Blake and Yang didn’t kill him physically but they’ll kill him psychologically. At the moment when he was stabbed, we can see his face slowly decay. He realizes the fact that he just be stabbed and it hurts. He isn’t the one that he believed, this final point shows that he has nothing, and that the one who’s alone it’s him. And in my opinion, it's a trait that presents him as someone who can have a redemption, because he realizes how wrong he was. Yes he is redeemable and >THIS< show why, and why Adam wasn’t able to get one before. Returning after that, he’ll loose what made him a redoutable antagonist : his confidence. His power, he extracted it of control, but to have control being confident is necessary. Now that the one who he manipulated turned against him, and furthermore it’s one of his kind, he’ll gonna doubt of everything. Adam is weak, with this break, he risks to become a completely different character. The most important point is his similarities with Raven. Seriously I need to detail ? Imageries, fighting style and ideology, they share far too much in common. To the extent that it’s frustrating to see that Yang didn’t make a connection. If you want to spend time, I refer you to a thread which makes you a summary of all the parallels. With so much in common, it’s legitimate to ask if they’re not related. Not by blood because they don’t share any physical similarity, but to be honest, I can see Raven as a teacher.

I’M SO SORRY. I needed to expose thoses points before to can begging it. First, I would like to recall why people thought that Adam Tarus had Silver Eyes. (For this part, I’ll take what said >here< because it’s really borring). This faunus isn’t only assimilate to Raven but with Ruby too, and it’s perfectly justify. The similarity of their symbols, imagery of the rose and the moon. It seems weird says like that but there is another person with Silver Eyes who’s assimilated to the same scheme : Summer Rose. It’s the principal element which supports this theory, since she’s directly inspired of a fairy tale « The Dead Moon ». If you want more informations on this subject, consult this post. Basically, it demonstrates the fact that the personified moon’s light repulses the monsters, like the Silver Eyes, and she was « killed », like the moon in RWBY. This ability is destined to protect the life, cherish people we love. But in the case of Adam, it’s all the opposite. He’s only destruction, hate and rancor ; it’s the opposite reflection of Ruby. But with what we saw in the series, the faunus doesn’t have Silver Eyes but blue eyes. With this, all of this wonderful theory falls in the water.

However, with all that I resumed and what we learnt in the volume 6, I asked : is there something else ? We learnt that the eyes light came for the God of Light (GoL/Creation Dragon/…). In my opinion, Silver Eyes are a present of the God to defeat Salem, cause they affect the magic. A considerable help given to Ozma. But could it be possible that the younger siblings, the God of Darkness (GoD/Destruction Dragon/…), offered another thing to our professor, to help him in his quest ? It’s not impossible, since there must be a complementarity. If it’s the case, in what form doest it manifest and how ? I have my idea. First, you should know that RWBY never let something randomly, its foreshadowing is clearly what’s make the charm of the saga. The moon has been destroyed by GoD to restart a new era. Silver Eyes and faunus appeared after this period (HOW STRANGE), it’s a thing to know. Without transition, I’ll go to the point where I would like to reach. Actually i sought differents types of horns, just to try to identify those of Adam. Every faunus has animals characteristics. But in the heap, I didn’t see only one faunus have attribute which couldn’t be identify. Adam has the imagerie of a taurus, but at no fucking time his horns correspond to those of a taurus, not even to goat (even if I found this joke funny). And my issue, is that RWBY already shown a bull faunus.

His horns start in forehead, point back to go inside. And I have only seen one person share those similarities for this characteritic, it’s the God of Darkness/Destruction.

If we assume that Adam is the nemesis of Yang Xiao Long, which means Little Dragon Sunshine, Adam will be related to the one of darkness. And I tell myself that AS BY CHANCE, the dragon of light is Chinese style, like the name of Yang. And looking at the episode 7 of volume 3, I realized that Adam had the map of Remnant behind him. And strangely, the firts plan we have of him, is this one :

Nothing is left to chance in RWBY. It surprises me that there is EXACTLY this continent behind him. The dragon is at the middle of the plan with Adam in font of it. The head and the wings are claerly apparent, the others pieces of lands don’t appear whole, I seriously doubt that this angle haven’t been chosen involuntary… Because when they had to built the scenery, decisions have been done, I tell myself that it’s not innocent. The guys could restricted to this, but no. They continue all along the scene, knowing that Adam walks when he listens the deal of Cinder…

Adam only aspires to destroy, like the God of Darkness, counter to his brother, who him search to preserve the life. Amond their powers which have been exposed, we could see that silver light, and specific forms of thaumaturgy. But what will the power of Adam be, if he has dragon’s horns ? I think it will be a form of incomplete immortality, or which needs some conditions to be activate. It’s not impossible, like I said, the concept of life and death can be reverse with magic. Furthermore, if we associate Raven and Adam, it’s not improbable. You know why ? I tell you. In the episode 6 of Volume 5, something caught my attention. Amount of screenshots in coming :

Raven doesn’t believe in what is said to her, there is no reason for her to take literally what Oz told her. She needs to see to believe it. So she saw someone come back alive in front of her eyes, to come and declare the fact that she knows people who can come back from the dead. She can’t have seen Ozpin being killed, since he has not reincarnated in the meantime. Salem, I doubt that she could see her being hurt to return to life, because you have to beat her already. It’s very possible that it is Adam, since this whole scene, is to build in the same way as when the faunus was in full deal with Cinder. The guy stands right behind the fucking dragon of destruction. And what do you think Raven does?

She looks at the dragon of destruction on the fucking map. It’s more complicated to discern because she doesn't face to the protagonists because we do not see what she looks, but her eyes are focused on the continent. In addition, we have a sequence where the camera slides gently on the map, to finish on the continent in question, implying that we are through the eyes of Raven. And some plans show that it pays particular attention to the parcel of land.

Beside, in the Black Trailer of RWBY, we see a crow... Someone told me it was Qrow who was looking for Amber, but I made some searchs on internet, I didn't find any confirmation of CRWBY. For me, the fact that it's could be Raven would make so much more sense. After all, she seems almost omniscient and she can be here, from the beginning. And that reminds me of what Barbara says about “some things could be planned from the beginning”. And I remembered something in Volume 3 DvD commentary : “The idea for the Maidens was thought up by Monty Oum in between Volume 2 and Volume 3 and worked into the story.” So... This isn't suppose to be Qrow looking for the Fall Maiden, right ? Cuz Monty hadn't this idea yet. When he puts this crow, he was thinking to something else, right ? The last option is Raven...

Otherwise, remember well that the God of Darkness destroyed the moon. And what is the name of Adam’s semblance ? Moonslice.

Observation

Apart from these facts, there is something that who intrigued me. All the characters with a red aura, are more or less related to thaumaturgy... (As a reminder name ≠ aura color) Qrow : Crow transformation with magic Raven : Crow Transformation with Magic + Spring maiden Pyrrha : Was in contact with the aura of the Fall Maiden + was killed by the Fall Maiden Ruby : Silver eyes, which are connected to the God of light Adam : Could potentially have dragon horns (why would he escape the rule?)

For those who will tell me that the color of Raven's aura is orange, it's wrong. Originally she is red. It is clear when flames glow from her eyes and she uses her semblance. It's because she received the power of the Spring Maiden that she is orange. When Pyrrha agreed to assimilate the power of the former host, the aura of the Fall Maiden that enveloped it and it was indeed orange, instead of turning red. If Pyrrha had become a maiden, his aura would have undergone the same transformations. The fact that Raven's aura is orange would be incoherent. Because in no case we see this amber in her design, or even in her name ... We would see this pre-configuration somewhere.

Or it’s due to the dust after the fall... Cuz we can clearly that the power absorbed is red, and it belongs to Raven

Some shitty arguments (don’t take it serioulsy lmao) : - Adam’s name means humanity. And that made me think about the new erea, and all this things about gods... - The precious stone associated with the name of Adam, is the ruby. It’s kinda funny when you know that the show is called RWBY, and the main character wears the name “Ruby”. I think it’s more a coincidence, but I have to put this somewere.

AU in which Jackie never gets back with Kelso after JBH, she forms a friendship with Hyde and she's single at the same time as Donna and together find their own worth without any boy's fart near them.

DO YOU MEAN, THE DREAM?

Okay, so. Maybe she does feels the weakness for Kelso after seeing him having a bad time with his little situation. When she’s in that inter between feeling sorry and still not wanting him back, Fez and Donna realize what is going on and quickly talk her into noticing NO, IT’S NOT A GOOD IDEA, DON’T DO IT.

When Kelso persues her to get back together after realizing his dick wants Jackie again, she realizes its because of the sex thing and rejects him. Everyone knows about it by the time she’s back at the basement, and both Fez and Donna are like :D!

Meanwhile, Hyde feels better about the fact that Jackie didn’t use him to get over Kelso/get back at Kelso after all.

When Eric and Donna break up, Jackie tries to make her friend feel better by saying that now that both are single, they can focus on being pretty and get everything all guys desire, but none can have. Every time Hyde hears this, he smiles or laughs, and Donna arches an eyebrow but says nothing.

Eventually, she feels better about her situation and start to hang out more with Jackie. They still spend more time at her house when Eric doesn’t want her over at the basement, and the boys start going too. Once they decide they can’t keep doing this, Donna and Jackie go out more often and everyone starts to miss them.

At some point, Kelso will still be bothering Jackie about getting back together at the same time he sleep with half Wisconsin, so Hyde takes care of him by punching him in the face when he calls Jackie names for not taking him back while in the circle. Everyone laughs, but Eric gets to ask Hyde whats going on afterwards.

Hyde doesn’t have a better answer but the truth: he’s sick of Kelso trying to take adventage of Jackie and he has been wanting to punch him for a while, not only for Jackie, but for every time he also touched Donna without her permission and every other girl he probably was an asshole to. Eric takes this answer, but suspects there may be something else going on.

But it’s Fez the first one to pick Hyde’s real feelings when Donna goes out a weekend with her parents before Midge leaves. She stays down the basement and Fez and Hyde protects her from Eric and Kelso who want her out. As they watch TV, Hyde comments he would rather be dead than having to watch more crappy stuff on TV and she asks if they want to play something.

That’s when he asks her if she wants to play chess and when she says she doesn’t know how to, he offers to teach her. Fez watches as this happens and remembers that one time Hyde tried to teach him and got bored quickly and dumpped it. But with Jackie? He’s patient and ecoragues her to keep trying.

He knows shit. And he lets Hyde know the second he can get him alone, saying how much he will burn him, but at the end he can’t do anything because he fears for his life if he reveals Hyde’s secret.

At some point, Jack finds out Jackie’s notes had gone a little lower and he decides to keep her away from her weekly money. This makes her search for a job and she ends up at the Cheese Palace, to everyone’s pleasure.

The girls grow closer, Jackie thinks Donna should date and Donna thinks she should date. But Jackie says “she’s over that” and keeps disappearing for a few hours most days, until Donna finds out she goes to see Hyde after work to keep learning chess.

She asks what��s up with that, since Jackie is hanging out more and more with Hyde, and Donna has noticed Jackie it’s been different, in a good way. As annoying and demanding as always, but sometimes less rude, most times more insightful, kind of better.

Does Hyde has something to do with this?

Casey comes home, and at the Hub, he hits on Donna and she gets a stupid lapsus. Jackie disapproves and keeps wrickling her nose every time Donna mentions Casey, and tries to tell her it’s not a good idea. Ultimately, she can’t do much when her friend does starts dating the dude.

She joins Eric and the others to talk shit about it, Hyde rolls his eyes at them but still protects Donna the best he can. Jackie knows what he’s doing and when she mention to him while hangging out with him, he tries to pretend it’s nothing until she says “no, I mean… it’s nice, it’s a good thing.” and man, why does he cares what she thinks of him?

A little scared of how he’s feeling, Hyde tells her she knows everything she needs to know about chess and starts hanging out at the time they always saw each other. Jackie takes this as rejection and doesn’t tell anyone, but still gets kind of mad at Hyde, who also doesn’t know what the hell for both things.

Why did he ran away from her? And why is she so mad at him?

Jackie starts feeling some kind of lonely with Donna dating Casey, and while she has her job and the rest of her friends, it’s almost like if she longed to be in a relationship again. No way she’s going back to Kelso, and she also doesn’t feel like serching for somoene– So what?

That’s when Todd makes his move and kisses her, after seeing her sad and kind of not wanting to leave job. Eric sees them and ends up telling everyone at the basement about it after a little banter with Jackie. Fez feels betrayed because “THE CHEESE GUY!? THE CHEESE GUUUUY!?” and Donna can’t stop laughing.

She thinks it’s great Jackie is “trying new stuff” and can’t stop teasing her about it and Eric joins in the burning. Kelso is #offended by this and wants to kick Todd’s ass, while Hyde reacts to that, to Kelso acting like if Jackie belonged to him and reminds him about his fist liking his face. He shuts up. Sort of.

Jackie is too tired to correct everyone about her situation with Todd, and when they see each other again, he asks her out. Thinking about her loneliness and her friends, and Hyde, she says yes. Just to have something to do, to try something.

When Hyde hears the news, something inside him moves. Or maybe it drops. But he ignores it, except that there’s no way Eric, Donna and Fez are ignoring his face and the way he quickly changed his position to not face Jackie and is now pretending to be fine.

Of course, the date doesn’t go all that well. It’s awkward and Jackie doesn’t like Todd. She’s not attracted to him, even when she does thinks his face is kind of cute and oddly familiar, but his body and hair, and just– the rest of him isn’t her type.

And his personality, while attentive and sweet, doesn’t attract her either. Yet, she accepts a second date to the movies and Donna asks why is she doing this if she doesn’t like Todd that way. Jackie doesn’t truly has an answer to this. But there’s no third date or any kisses after the second one.

She decided to tell him the truth after that and, even if disappointed and so, she’s happy to find the guy doesn’t make a big deal of it. Yet, work it’s a little awkward and she isn’t sure if she could keep with that. The summer is almost here and maybe she could get another summer job elsewhere or maybe her dad would give her back her money.

After hearing about the news from Fez, Hyde asks if she’s okay and Jackie finally is able to explain to him and Donna that she’s just feeling lonely. She’s been used to having a boyfriend for a while and she just– maybe Donna is right and she should date, but someone she likes.

Donna looks at Hyde, then at Jackie, and something inside her head also moves. She should date someone she likes, says Jackie. Should she? Should she not be with someone she loves?

Meanwhile, Hyde decides maybe it wasn’t a good idea to try and put some dirt between him and Jackie. Maybe it’s okay to be friends, maybe–

Hell comes down with Casey and Donna, she goes to Eric and things go to shit there too, she rans off to California with Kelso, who thinks it’s a great time to get some and maybe get Donna. They go without saying anything.

After a day or two, Midge calls Bob and Eric informs them Donna is fine. Slowly, life down at the basement starts going back to normal and Fez goes out with his foster parents the most, while Kitty mantains Eric distracted with their own family activities and Hyde and Jackie are left in the basement.

He thinks he should had kissed her while they played chess months ago, she thinks she shoul had realized what she felt when they first kissed wasn’t nothing but everything.

Kelso may be shocked when he comes back, but this is what felts right, this is what is right.

What are your favorite zen master episodes? Both from earlier seasons and five/six

This is a blog run by lots of people, so I invite my partners to answer with their favorites too :) Mine (Nina/jacquelineshyde) would be:

Season 1, episode episode 18: Career Day. I think this is the episode when we start noticing how similar Hyde and Jackie’s deeper wounds are. They both have absent parents and they both seek for advice and attention on more loving parents they know, The Formans. In this case, Red. Who also shows us he is truly a great dad. That small smile Hyde gives Jackie when she goes under the car again is just adorable. I also love seeing Jackie working with cars, I wish this was something that had stayed with the show.

Season 1, episode 19: Prom Night. This is when I started to ship them.Until this episode, Hyde’s characterization was horrible for me. I didn’t like him at all until this episode happened. Because he is shown as a person who cares and respects other people’s struggles and desires. He tries to help Jackie, not because she is his friend or because he likes her, but because he can’t stand her crying and knows it’s the right thing to do. He later makes Kelso go back to her, even knowing his stupid friend may hurt her again, because in that moment is the right thing to do. We get to see a part of Hyde we didn’t until this episode, and I love that Jackie is the first character to bring up this charcterization from Hyde. It tells you a lot, and its curious due to how things go between them later ;) While Jackie, we see her as a real human being here. She is sad, she struggles, she wants to enjoy something like any other teenager and she is going through a hard time. She’s vulnerable but also she is shown as th strong character she is. She walks and dances, and dress up beautiful for her prom even knowing she will be seeing Kelso. The way she compliments Hyde, makes a good observation about herself and asks to mee his mother, tells you she is more than her shallow mask. It’s good to see that.

Season 2, episode : Kelso’s Serenade.I’m still wondering what exactly made Jackie always trust Hyde with her broken heart. She start putting atention to him and wanting to spend time with him, even when Fez may had been the more accurate election since he has been wanting her for a while. But then again, maybe that’s why Hyde was her first option. She knows he’s not gonna see her as an object and it’s not going to sexualize her. The problem is that he can’t barely stand her, even when he sees her in a different light by now. Finally, he decides to give it a try, it’s free food and maybe it can go well. Even when he rejects her later that night, it’s obvious that he cares for her as a friend and that he doesn’t want her to still be hurt.“Anything for you, doll”, he says with a big smile. He knows she needed to be assured she will be fine and that things will be bright one day. And it’s so incredible because he predicted exactly what happened with them. He told her things will eventually be fine, and they were that summer, and he told her she will realize she can do better than Kelso, and she did just like she confirms during season 5/6, and then she would find somebody great, and she found him.By the end of the episode, I died when she says her goodnights to him and kisses him near his lips. This time, he doesn’t reject her and doesn’t move. In fact, he kinda moves his lips to kiss her back, but she kisses the corner of his mouth. The way he acts all cocky in front of both, Kelso and Fez who don’t see Jackie as a person but a prize to win, tells so much. He is on her side.

Season 2, episode 25: Cat Fight Club. Laurie’s shit towards Jackie is ridiculous. She is truly mean and disgusting as she tries her best to make her feel bad all the time, Hyde recognizes this and decides he has had enough. That’s why he decides to teach her his own way of protection, something we have seen him use all the time on the show. His Zen. After telling her that he found her abrassive, it’s fun to see him try so hard to protect her/teach her how to protect herself. As he says “Shine, grasshopper, shine”, I absolutely fell in love with the idea of them being romantic at some point. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the hell out of this episode. Jackie also wins the basement’s respect after kicking Laurie’s ass. Even Eric says she’s his hero. And she enters the circle. It’s a great zen episode, since we got our shipname form it, and also a great Jackie episode.

Season 2, episode 26: Moon Over Point Place. Although I don’t like Jackie’s menners with Hyde, since they are kind of stalkish, I do recognize if she had approached him better, it would had been more obvious that Hyde’s care may not be as platonic anymore. Like any other teenager, she tries to impress the boy she likes. She sees in Hyde an incredible human being and she wants him to see her as somoene beyond Kelso’s ex-girlfriend. It still rubs me the wrong way how he keeps treating her bad after being totally nice to her just the episode before, but it’s also understandable if we take in that it seems like Jackie’s stalking moves had been going for a while. She’s right in something,he doesn’t know her and he doesn’t see they have more in common that he thinks. If he could give her the chance, things would had gone different… maybe.Then, he goes to jail for her. And honestly, how much of a good guy he can be? He’s incredible. And she’s so amazed by it, because damn, no one else would do that for her. No one.

Season 3, episode 8: Jackie Bags Hyde. What zennie doesn’t like this episode? I love this episode and everything about it. From Hyde refuisng to believe he does has feelings for Jackie, to Jackie realzing what Hyde did to protect her (agaaaaain), to Kitty being the Shipper Mom™, to their first kiss.Seriously, that first kiss is the perfect first kiss. I have never seen a better first kiss in the story of fiction. It’s wonderful. And I’m sure as hell Jackie did felt something, she just was too scared of the intensity of it (and that the writers were bad most times, to be honest), while him? LMAO, it’s obvious he felt everything he thought he was never going to feel for anyone. This episode is a gem.

I woul like to add that I can’t point out a s4 episode for its zennic aspect, but there’s a lot of Subtext™ on the season, as most of us have noticed and talked about. That said, I’m only going to number the episodes from season 5 to 7 that I like the most when it comes to the couple.

Season 5, episode 9: Black Dog.I remember doing a face when it’s known that Jackie’s dad was thrown into jail. I knew they would do something really bad with her character because I never trusted the writers of the show (lol), but I’m actually happy with the result of the episode. Even though Hyde not knowing what to say to make her feel better is ooc, since we have seen him being supportive of her and her sorrow before (season 1 and 2), one can explain this by saying that now that they are in a relationship, he’s not sure if that means he can keep doing things as if they were only friends. Besides, he cares for her more deeply than he ever though, so being afraid and careful is just normal.He has dealt with this kind of stuff before by his own and it’s in his own way, he learned different than to know how to be nice in situations like this, because no one was nice to him when it happened to him. So he is confused as to what to do or say for Jackie, who is obviously going through a horrible time for her. When he decides to shave, even when he obviously loves his looks and his beard, he is not– being this dude that does what his girlfriend wants, but being someone who loves their couple enough to put his own comfort aside just to make them smile. And it’s worth it! I feel like this was Hyde’s first real I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU, PLEASE BE HAPPY small detail to Jackie, and I think she recognizes it too.

Season 5, episode 12: Misty Mountain Hop.I yell every time I watch this episode (which is a lot lol). Because in here, we see Jackie moving forward in their relationship. They had been together for months by now and they get into a big time fight in which both have reasons to be mad at the other. She should told him the truth, what she was doing and why, and he had never, ever, do that to her back (going to crash without permision a place that belongs to her family? WHAT THE FUCK? Hyde is kinda out of character in this episode, at least in this part, in my opinion).This time, in a very nice parallel I better see giffed soon (lol), she takes the blame for the founded pot. It was Hyde’s this time, and it was going to cost him his place at The Formans. He will had been homeless and family-less, too. Something to notice is that, by this point, Jackie’s mom had probably already left and she was alone too. Of course she won’t let him lose his home either, no matter how mad at him she may be.After defenidng him, he is amazed. He admits no one has ever done something as nice for him before, which is telling you a lot, because he is always doing this kind of stuff for everyone, for her, and now there’s this girl who loves him so much, she would take any blame for him at any given time. It’s beautiful.

Season 5, episode 14: Babe I’m Gonna Leave You.This episode KILLS ME all the time. But I love it so much, it’s a good episode for Hyde and Jackie as couple and as characters. Because we see them struggle with her mistake, as she also has a lot to think and to take with her new found feelings about her situation and what was there with Kelso for her. It made her close the Kelso chapter of her life, and it let her enjoy openly what she has with Hyde. He’s breaking up with her and he has every right to, he is hurt and she didn’t truly respond in a responsable and honest way at the beginning. But after she realizes it’s ridiculous and that’s anyone else in the world she wants and loves as she does Hyde, she has had enough and speaks him mind in spite the fact that he may not care and not take her back.But, he hears her and he sees her not caring about if he says back his feelings too. He admits he loves her by saying this, and even though she lives for making him admit his feelings for her, for Jackie is more important that he has it clear she loves him, and he sees this. When we see them at the dance, they are so damn happy I just kjdnvirngfoejofgnro. I love this episode, I love it with all my heart. This is actually my favorite HJ episode.

Season 5, episode 19: Bring It On Home.Hyde protectiveness of Jackie is something so constant in the show, even the blasphemy of s8 had it’s bit with it (him helping her that one time they got lost in the woods). He finds out she’s been living alone in her enormous and ridiculous house, that her mother abandoned her and it touches everything inside him.A whole new parallel is thrown between them, once more the absent parents parallel becomes deeper and Hyde, this time, protects Jackie like she did in MMH. He gives her home, a safe place to sleep and his arms to wear. It’s beautiful, and the episoe keeps giving on the matter.He is the one who explains to Donna, Jackie’s suppoed best friend, why Jackie acted as she did and why it’s important for him her to have Donna ask her again to go live with her. Jackie needs her and Hyde can no longer give her a place at the Formans. After this, Jackie gets a safe place and man, I love that he is the one who helps her out, even when she doesn’t knows this.

Season 6, episode 3: The Magic Bus.MAN. Hyde is so willing to let it be known he loves Jackie, like he doesn’t care about being all touchy in front of his friends and admiting to her he has missed her and her ridiculous pet names. It’s a sweet thign to see, because it reminds us about how open Hyde actually is with her and how much he does loves her. This episode also show us that they are free of Kelso (which is a shame in season 7, because they just ruined it), he supports them now and, as shown in the episode before, he even tries to help get them together. This after getting together bliss they are both enjoying is just refreshing to see and I love that.

Season 6, episode 7: Christmas.I have actually seen people not liking this episode and It hurts my soul because I actually think it’s pretty good. I love Hyde pretending he doesn’t care about what she wants just to give up at the end because she is so cute and he is so fucking whipped.When she mentions later that she has learned something new about herself, I think his initial reaction it’s just a joke. I think he is actually proud of her, and he is getting rewarded after this anyway, so really. It’s an ultra win situation for him, lol.The scene at the end, with her doing a cheerleader rutine for him it’s jfbfinwienfir, I love it. I love them being playfull. It’s beautiful.

Season 6, episode 18: Do You Think It’s Alright?Hyde is scared Jackie will pressure him into marriage like she did Kelso during season 4. She’s been known as to want the happy life of a married couple and have a family of her own, and he knows this. He also knows that it’s too soon to talk about these things, they are too young and even when in the time the show set it was normal for couples to get married that young, he is more concient than society and, in this case, than Jackie. A part of her needs to be told it will happen with him, mostly because she knows by now he is The One for her and she wishes he would be more open and allow her to know she is it for him, too. But at the end of the episode, after he tries to shit her up from her biggest wishes and desires, he gives in and understands this is important for her.Like many times after, Jackie gets satisfied with just a little of what she really wants. He thinks her beautiful in a wedding dress, which may mean he would like to see her in front of him like this again, in the future. With this, she’s convinced it will happen. And that’s how that damn story line should had ended.

Season 7, episode 14: Street Fighting Man.I cry every time I see this episode. Mostly because I love the way Hyde is written in it. He is being himself and not the idiot that pushed Jackie to break up with him. If he had been still that asshole, I would have liked her to never go back to him because really, what on Earth was that that happened in ‘Winter’? But in this episode, he just wants to talk to her and for things to go back to normal, or some kind of normal.When he realizes the break up is being horrible to her, he stops being an ass and understands maybe he hurt her too deep, maybe it would be good if they could just be. The scene when he sees her crying always breaks my heart. She looks defeated and so affected, and he just– you can hear the sound of his heart breaking all over again. After, when he offers her a ride, I almost died. A part of me really wanted Jackie to say yes, what could had happened if so? But I’m also happy with the small conversation they have. If writers could had keep this characterization, things would had been pretty different.

Season 7, episode 16: On With The Show.Hyde is willing to talk to Jackie and get her back. He wants them back. But ultimately, she is happy about her own independency for the first time in forever. She has always been someone’s daughter and someone’s best friend, and someone’s girlfriend, and for the first time she’s Jackie, the girl on TV, she’s Jackie, the girl who got a chance. Ultimately, for Hyde, Jackie’s happiness as a person is his goal when it comes to her. And if he is not included in the mix, then so be it. He steps aside, lets her grow by her own, even when this could had been the new start they needed. I love that he put once more her happiness over his, it’s just something else.

Season 7, episode 18: Oh, Baby (We Got a Good Thing Goin’).I actually love this episode when it comes to them, it’s such a good one, and also the last one in which they are in character. They go on some kind of double date with the Formans, a couple we have found millions of parallels with HJ and who many fans (included myself) sees them as the original grumpy guy/happy girl couple in the show, more or less how Hyde and Jackie would grow up to be as a couple. When they arrive, it’s obvious this is a place were any man would go nuts. But Hyde sticks with his girl and enjoys the day with her. For what we see, she doesn’t get crazy over him and doesn’t get demanding either. They are both enjoying the fair and having a good time together with something that he loves and is now sharing with her.In delated dialogue, we find out Hyde actually informed of what he wanted to get for his El Camino at the event, and she repeats it happily, because she’s going to help him get it. In a way, they are more domestic than one may though and realize until we see these small moments.Later, he gets her food and gets it exactly like she likes it without her having to tell him how to. He has put attention to her likings and knows she appreciates if he does these things. Finally, my favorite moment, when Kitty asks him why he wants to spend the day with Jackie, he answer so easily “She’s my chick”.Jackie’s stament, “I’m his chick”, it’s incredible cute and intimate. She is an object and Hyde doesn’t see her that way, they are together and the belonging they have on the other isn’t a toxic or sexist thing, is a bond that makes the other’s their home. And It’s beautiful.
