y'all! last night I rewatched Spirited Away & the feeling of it reminded me a bit of The Raven Cycle. like, I LOVE the way both Miyazaki & Stiefvater just put magic into their stories so casually like, yes, of course this is happening, it's only natural... but there's also always this emotional core to the magic or something.
ANYWAY, all this to say HOW DREAMY WOULD IT BE IF MIYAZAKI ADAPTED THE RAVEN CYCLE?
I just started thinking about how he would draw all the characters & was like ahhhh I NEED THIS !
I got these in the mail today. So happy to have them as physical copies, and can't wait to have a moment to start reading them! Work and studies take too much of my reading time away XD
weißt du wie sich das anfühlt
mit vierundzwanzig
das zu erreichen
wo ein mensch
der zur unterstützung verpflichtet ist
sie dir versagt hat?
und du es schaffst, aus
eigenantrieb
oft disziplin, weil die motivation versiegt war
und dann stehst du da
dieses zeugnis in der hand
auf dem steht abitur
und nun lachst du -
anstatt er
als er damals in dem wagen
richtung neuer heimat

Alright y’all, keep me accountable. This is my TBR shelf for 2023–hopefully I can finish and refill the shelf, but I want to keep it manageable. 😂 I’ve been so bad about reading lately, and there are so many books I own and have been excited for and have never actually read (or read years ago and need to reread). 🤦🏻♂️
The 2 I’ve read in full before are Acceleration (like a decade+ ago; I forgot what it was called for years but randomly ran across it in a used bookstore last year), and The Devouring Gray (a few years ago, and I recently acquired book 2 so I need to reread book 1 first). I read about half of the first Morganville Vampires installment and never finished.
I’m 2/3 through Lament right now and that only took a couple days, so I’m feeling optimistic!
(Let’s not talk about the fact that there are 4 Stiefvater books on the list 😂)
I've seen this before, but it's been years and it just came across my Twitter in its dying days. The words are from a favorite author of mine, Maggie Stiefvater, and they are the words I most need to hear when it comes to dealing with chronic pain and illness. I didn't need this the first time I saw it, six years ago. I need it now. Maybe you do, too.
watching mstief’s writing the raven cycle webinar and I just want everyone to know that she just explicitly stated that adam was supposed to go full villain in her first draft but changed her mind bc “the worst thing that could happen is they stop being friends”
I don't know what I miss more, having free time to draw or these fellas
The raven cycle!!!!
Oh I love these guys. Everything about these books, I want to draw them soooo much more (I probably will)!!
Guys I'm back-
It has been a nightmare lately this is the only thing I managed to draw in weeks? Finals and uni stuff that's taking all of my time and energy, slowly turning me into a cafeinated slug (worst part is caffeine doesn't even have an effect on me? I only drink coffee for the TASTE can you imagine).
Anyway the rush won't be over until end of January but hopefully I'll be able to ignore the stress and draw anyway :)
Kollegin: Was ist los?
