Alan Sylvastia, Shirou Ogami, Byakuya Togami, Nagito Komaeda, Kokichi Ouma X Reader who is like Sonic from Sonic The Hedgehog
CW: Shirou Spoilers??? I dunno man.
(OOC: Thanks for the request! I loved writing for what is basically a Sonic!Reader. I decided to base it on Modern Sonic, if that's fine.)
Requests are open!
Request Rules
Fandom Masterlist
BNA: Brand New Animal Masterlist
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Masterlist
Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Masterlist
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Masterlist
Alan Sylvastia
Safe to say, he's impressed.
Although he's seen beastmen with similar scale abilities, he sure hasn't seen one as fast as you are.
This causes intrigue within him.
He tries to use your powers for experiments for his company. Nothing unethical, just some measures of your energy.
Of course, he loves you too.
He wants to spend all of the time he can with you.
He still finds a way to be the dominant one in the relationship, despite your personality.
Shirou Ogami
Again, he's seen beastmen with powers on a similar scale to yours.
He's even able to catch up to you, funny enough.
He makes 100% sure you use your powers for good.
Also, he has you run errands for the beastman co-op.
He does take you up on challenges, just because he wants some action in his old man bones dammit.
Your activity has him internally swooning for you.
One of his favorite things to do is to lead you to big romantic date setups at fancy restaurants. It makes him Flustered to see your reactions.
Byakuya Togami
He is attracted to you, but he's full of regret too.
When you're really kicking up a storm, he has to remind you to “stop acting like an informal baboon.”
He still loves you though.
But your cocky personality can get to him.
He wants to prove himself to you. No reason for it, he just feels like he needs to.
He often fails. But you don't shame him for it.
In fact, you love him for his attempts. He tries, and he tries for you.
Above all, he wants you to be happy with him.
Nagito Komaeda
Nagito notices your attitude, but really doesn't care.
He doesn't take challenges seriously. Because he will never beat you.
He thinks that he will never be as talented as you.
Of course, as soon as you catch on, you do everything in your power to make sure he knows that, while he may not be as fast or as powerful as you, he is more than enough.
He loves watching you. It's one of the best things he's ever watched.
You're one of the best things he's looked at.
He says your talents bring hope not only to him, but to others.
Kokichi Ouma
“Wow, you've got some speed! I could use you to take out my enemies.”
Of course, he jokes about using you in his “Supreme leader” job.
You love challenging each other to do things.
You're almost like 2 bros, as opposed to lovers.
But, you're still lovers through and through.
“Ooh, that face, I'm jealous! I just wanna kiss you right now.”
He admires you. And he loves to see you flustered.
He takes every opportunity he can to compliment you, and give you praise.
He means it, though. Despite the fact that his main goal is to Fluster you.
You two are a great match. This is sure to go on for a while

got tagged by both @mostlikelytofangirl and @jaimebluesq, so i guess i'm not getting out of it.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
107, unless you were to count the chapters of the big archive separately, in which case 234 (oof).
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 706,507
3. What fandoms do you write for?
On my own wherewithal, I'm pretty entrenched in MDZS. But by request, I'll still write for MLP, Madoka Magica, (with some reluctance) Voltron, and others.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Including the archive feels like cheating to me, so just on standalone stories:
Cracked and Scratched, Not Broken - Super Danganronpa 2 - 581
Another Cute Animal Video - Tiger and Bunny - 536
The Puppetmaster Moves The War - Star Wars - 401
And One In the Cage - Mo Dao Zu Shi - 392
Finding Balance - Tiger and Bunny - 379
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I didn't used to when I first started on Ao3 (I did all the time on Livejournal), but I'm starting to be more open, especially if someone has a question about the characterization or worldbuilding.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
(scratches head) Good question. Probably... either All Your Sins on Display (Instead of Nie Mingjue, it's Nie Huaisang's death Jin Guangshan demands, and though Jin Guangyao goes through with it, he immediately regrets it, especially when Huaisang's unwitting ghost appears) or Broken-Down Fairytale (Tarvek and Anevka Sturmvoraus dealing with her impending death as a result of their father's obsession with The Other).
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Mmmmh.... I dunno what the objectively happiest ending is, but the one that made me the happiest for the characters was Medical. Allura has her mom back, Coran's managed to reconnect with some old friends and is in a comfortable relationship with Shiro, and Zarkon's dead and the Empire is on the back foot.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've had a few run-ins with the weird Huaisang hater that pops up every now and then, but nah, not really. I used to get more in my LJ days.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not anymore. I was never particularly good at it and I mostly was just writing it for easy attention anyway. Best I leave it to those who actually have some skill.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I do occasionally if an idea nests long enough, but not nearly as often as I used to. Probably my oldest and weirdest one was in high school, when a friend and I did one of those "cram every role this person has played into a space station" plots and for some inexplicable reason we chose anime characters who'd been dubbed by Scott McNeil???
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, ages and ages ago in Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. It didn't take me long to quit caring, the story was crap anyway.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
A few times. Spanish and Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Ohohoho have I. So many back in my Marvel and Fullmetal Alchemist days.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Nuh-uh, I'm not falling into that trap.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Ha. Hahaha. Hahahahahahahahaha.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Worldbuilding, inter-character feelings.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Mostly over-planning an idea until it feels too big and complicated to finish. And fight scenes. My god I hate writing fight scenes, and it pisses me off that I usually end up having to do at least one in every long fic.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Hah. No. I do that bracketed or italicized shit instead because I know I will butcher any attempt and I'd rather not embarrass myself.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Sonic the Hedgehog was baby's first real internet fandom.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Whichever ones I've actually finished.
Uuuuhhhhh, I have no idea who's done this and who hasn't, so I'm gonna throw it at @tavina-writes, @gffa, @banahbanah, and @fountainstranger.

So, anyone want an overanaylsis of the Jabberwock Park statue?
Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!
- Lewis Carroll, "Jabberwocky"
(oh gosh this actually needs a read more)
The setting of Super Danganronpa 2 is called Jabberwock Island, a reference to Lewis Carroll's classic quest poem. Are we to assume that this statue in the central island is based on that story?
Then perhaps each animal in the statue - and, by extension, the Monobeasts - represent the beasts that Carroll mentions.
The tiger maybe the Jabberwock itself, the one creature that can definitely be said to have "jaws that bite" and "claws that catch." That may be why Usami defeats it first: the hero of the poem heeds his father's advice to "shun" the others, single-mindedly focusing on the Jabberwock.
The eagle must be the Jubjub bird.
That leaves the snake as the Bandersnatch.
Now here's where things get strange. There's no mention of a horse in "Jabberwocky." What is present is the word "galumph" ("he went galumphing back") - a term Carroll invented for the poem, likely a combination of "gallop" and "triumph." This suggests the presence of a horse. (It could also just be embellishment for the statue - if you're gonna have a knight, might as well give him a steed.)
There's no gorilla in "Jabberwocky," either. Helpfully, the DR fan wiki points out that the Gorilla Mecha is the only Monobeast to feature a piece of the original statue: the crested helmet of the knight. The gorilla is not a monster from "Jabberwocky," but the story's hero.
That last one, I think, is the key to the statue's symbolic significance. This beautiful work of art based on another beautiful work of art is transformed into weapons - into obstacles that imprison and demoralize the castaways of Jabberwock Island. In other words, it's corrupted.
Like how Monokuma turns Magical Girl Usami into the diaper-wearing punching bag Monomi. Like how the Junko AI virus turns the therapeutic mind-vacation of the Neo World Program into a harrowing killing school trip. Like how Junko herself turned the more-or-less good people of Class 77-B into the doomsday architects known as Ultimate Despair.
Allow me to spiral even further! Evil is not a creative force. It corrupts that which already exists, twisting it to insidious ends. It's why alt-right creeps co-opt social justice language to push anti-social justice ideology (once you notice, you'll see it everywhere). It's why abusive people tend to talk most about the importance of love, loyalty, and the duties we have to each other. It's why devils manipulate the truth, and why they use our greater aspirations to bring out our worst sides ...
And so these only slightly more than ordinary high school students must take on a great quest. Nothing so simple as defeating the Monobeasts, but also defeating the corruption of Jabberwock Island and - eventually - the corruption within themselves.
All this from an image that's only around for the very beginning of the first chapter! I think this game's pretty well-written.

10 characters 10 fandoms
I got tagged by @skuitti like two months ago, and kept forgetting, but here I am! So, ten characters I enjoy, in no particular order
Alphinaud Leveilleur from Final Fantasy XIV. He is my brother, he is my son, and I love him to death. Ride or die. The assistance to his artisticness. In ARR he starts off overly sure of himself, and I have a weakness for characters like that, and then he grows from uh, that little experience in post-ARR and keeps learning about the world and how to live in it. A bleeding heart, though I'm sure he'd put it in different terms. He's way too smart for his own good, buddy needs to stop getting involved in every project in existence, but then he wouldn't be Alphinaud, I suppose.
Seere from Drakengard 1. He's kind in a world that offers little solace to those whose strength comes from kindness and compassion, and despite going through all that happens in DoD1, he doesn't lose that compassionate heart in DoD2.
Masumi Usui from A3! (the game, I never watched the anime). I have a fondness for character types like him, who love someone with their whole being and then some. Though he also tries to understand why the one he loves thinks it's unhealthy, and reflects on it, which I appreciate, since it's a bit less common to see in media with characters like him.
Byleth Eisner from Fire Emblem Three Houses (disclaimer: I only finished the Golden Deer ending). I actually love silent protagonists, and I thought it was fun how the game gave us a reason the MC didn't emote much. Yet the game allowed Byleth to mourn properly instead of glossing over that whole thing, which I also really appreciated. A low-emotion character was allowed to show their emotions, and not thought of as weird for it. I also thought it was sweet how throughout the game Byleth learns to show their emotions more, and seems to become happier than before. I also see myself in them somewhat, so there is that.
Atton Rand from Knights of the Old Republic II. He's fun, he's sassy, and he's always got the one-liner for the job. Despite that, he struggles with his past, and is hard to dig out the truth from, which I thought was a nice contrast. Every time I play KOTOR2 I have him in my team.
Gundham Tanaka from Super Danganronpa 2. He's such a fun character to play around with and ponder about. He's eccentric, and not afraid to show that. Unapologetic about being who he is, and yet he clearly has some issues I'd love to explore. I so badly want to learn how the world he's constructed in his head works, I want a guided tour and a pamphlet.
Infinite the Jackal from Sonic Forces. Now listen. He's cool, he's edgy, and over-the-top. What more could you want in a villain? If I had the money and the know-how, I'd love to make a proper cosplay of him.
Piers from Pokémon Sword and Shield (I've only played the game, I haven't seen the anime). He looks like a depressed raccoon, and moves in such slouchy arcs I can't help but relate. I respect and admire his attitude, in how he's ready to give hell to anyone who's trying to force him to conform, and how he goes his own way as much as he can without outright breaking the rules.
Albedo from Genshin Impact. I enjoy and relate to his calm but teasing personality, as well as how curious he is about everything. I find his lore interesting, and would love to hear more about it all. Besides that, I also really like the Dragonspine mountain, so that might've made me like him more. If I ever get back into Genshin, I'll try to pull for his constellations, he's like the most built character I have.
Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter (I stopped reading at around when the gang heard about the Dark Continent). I don't really have an explanation as to why I like him, I just remember him being instantly my favourite out of the main team. I did find it somewhat funny though how when he's traveling with Gon & Co. he's really enjoying himself, but when he's out and about by himself, he is absolutely miserable, and wallowing in rage. Poor guy needs a break. I actually almost made my first ever cosplay him, but ended up not doing that. Maybe if I ever pick up HxH again, I'll get inspired to do that. His robe looks so comfortable, and I'd love to wear the chain "glove" he has. Man, now that I've said that, I feel like going back to reading HxH (maybe re-read it?) just for him. Maybe this time I'll get past where I left off, which I've done twice now.
All in all, to become a character I like, you have to either be difficult to parse/be mysterious, be low-emotion, be fun, or be goth.

AO3 Summary/Except:
Kaede, Chiaki, and Maki have a rather lousy night out at a workplace party, but Kaede is determined to make it up to them tenfold.
Commission for Cherry (@cakesplice on Twitter and Tumblr)! ❤ :] Thank you so much again!
The first one to stumble through the front door was a barely conscious Chiaki, followed by Kaede in a similar state, who was being carried by the scruff of her shirt collar by an undeterred Maki. The latter of the three was usually the one cleaning up after her girlfriends, and sometimes that meant dragging them out of a boring party at eleven in the night.
‘Party’ was probably too generous of a word, actually.
Kaede’s colleagues were nice; they were always friendly to Kaede, and in turn, Kaede spoke of nothing but good about them. But maybe they were a bit too nice, as they’d invited the three of them out for a work-related event that they so lovingly called a party.
Maki couldn’t really wipe the grin off her face when Chiaki whispered into her ear that it was more like a glorified funeral. Unexpectedly morbid coming from her, but it kept her mood from souring anyway. But alas, after hours of standing around in toe-pinching heels and staving off the boredom through eating snacks that Kaede is sure she’s seen at a local Lawson’s, the three of them made a half-assed excuse to get away from the boring colleagues and their slightly creepy boyfriends trying to get touchy.
Still, there was probably a better excuse out there besides “Chiaki needs more sleep, so we gotta hit the road” – but Maki’s still grateful for it anyway, even if it isn’t one of Kaede’s better ones. It did the trick well enough, with her co-workers tailing along until the door with a hundred ‘goodbyes’ and ‘be safes’ until they finally scurried out the front door, heaving a heavy sigh in the cool night air.
“We,” Maki starts, jabbing a finger in Kaede’s direction as soon as they make it to their living room, “Are never doing anything like that again.”
Kaede puts her hands up in mock surrender, laughing sheepishly while looking to Chiaki for help. Unfortunately, she finds the girl splayed out over the brown leather couch not unlike a starfish, softly snoring away. It seems a little too suspicious for her to pass out so conveniently, but Kaede draws her lips into a straight line and looks back at Maki, looking like she was about to chew her out big time.
“I didn’t… really expect that it’d turn out like that, y’know?” Kaede nervously defends herself, hands still in the air, “And I especially didn’t expect my co-workers would bring their asshole, judgmental partners along. I didn’t even know they had partners like that given that they’re really good people and all.”
Maki sighs softly, giving up the act of staring daggers into Kaede and instead trudging over to Chiaki, plopping down beside her with resignation. “You can give up the act now, Chiaki, I’m not mad.”
Kaede squints at Chiaki in betrayal, watching as the girl eases into a smile with her eyes still shut and leans on Maki’s shoulder. The latter hesitates for half a moment before giving into the touch and laying her head on top of Chiaki’s.
“…Come here.” Maki finally whispers, scooting Chiaki over to make room for Kaede on the other side. She almost immediately crosses the room and nearly crashes into the sleeping girl from excitement, earning a small glare from Maki. Kaede smiles at the other instead, albeit with a touch of residual guilt from the party, looking between her and Chiaki’s sleeping face before pressing a kiss to the latter’s temple. She doesn’t miss the way the corner of her mouth quirks upwards a little.
The air settles between them, calm and peaceful. Kaede will never tire of coming home to these two; she’ll never tire of the way they slot together so well, even though they all have their flaws. Their home smells like black cherry candles and it always feels comfortably warm, just the way they all like it.
The overhead lights are dim, and it’s enough to lull the last two awake to sleep.
But somehow, Kaede doesn’t want that. Somehow, she’s itching for something more – something to make up for everything before the guilt gnaws away at her.
She quickly glances at the silver clock on the wall, seeing that it was only a quarter past twelve. Kaede scrunches her eyebrows together, sitting upright and steeling her resolve. She just couldn’t let their night end on a crappy note like this, and she’s sure the other two would agree if she could persuade them just right.
Thankfully and surprisingly, she was rather good at getting them to go along with her nonsense ideas most of the time.
“Hey,” she whispers with a mischievous smile, nudging both of them out of their drowsy state, “Do you guys wanna do something fun?”
-x-
Chiaki was still wiping the bleariness out of her eyes as she and Maki walked back from the Lawson’s down the street, three bags of ingredients in hand. Or rather, Chiaki carrying the lightest bag, singular, while Maki insisted on carrying the other two after squabbling with Chiaki over it.
“Hey, Chiaki…” Maki broke through the comfortable silence between them, “Do you have any idea what she’s planning?”
She holds a contemplative hum for a few seconds, playfully bumping shoulders with Maki, the latter only giving her a small smile in return. “Not sure. But I think that whatever she’s thinking, it’ll be fun!”
Maki stays quiet, looking out into the distance to catch a glimpse of the ocean, even though it’d likely be obscured by the white streetlights. Chiaki’s gaze follows, realizing that the other is seeking comfort.
“You’re not… actually upset at Kaede for the party, are you?”
“Wh—? No, of course not, I just… don’t feel comfortable at parties in general, and those guys were… you know.” She sighed, shoulders slouching a little uncharacteristically, “It’s because of Kaede that you and I were able to socialize a bit more and I don’t want to say that this set me back a ways, but… maybe it’ll take a little while to adjust again.”
Chiaki stays silent for a moment, before quickly nabbing the grocery bag Maki was carrying in her right hand and swiftly shifting it to her own, now carrying two bags with one hand. The other looks back at her in surprise, ready to protest until Chiaki grabs her hand, lacing their fingers together.
“It’ll be fine, Maki – you’ll always have us, after all. We’ll get through it together like we always do.”
Maki barely hears Chiaki’s soothing words over the sound of her own heartbeat, even though they’ve been together for years. She clears her throat, willing her voice to steady while trying to shift her attention away from the fact that Chiaki’s hands are so warm. So warm and soft – unlike her own.
“…Is this your idea of romance?” She huffs lightly with a smile, only to have it returned tenfold by the other girl leaning into her as they make their way back home.
“Doesn’t get more romantic than this, I think.”
As the two of them make back and forth conversation, they see their house in the distance and pick up their pace to cover the distance a little quicker.
Chiaki squints under the bright lights as they grow nearer, catching Kaede waving to them from the front porch with enthusiasm like it wasn’t almost one ‘o’ clock in the morning. Still, Chiaki waves back at her with as much enthusiasm as she really feels, knowing Kaede was a little sensitive to that kind of thing.
Kaede rushes off the porch to give the two a smothering group hug, which neither of them struggled out of much to Kaede’s own surprise. “How are my two favourite-est girlfriends in the world?”
“We’re your only girlfriends…?” Maki mumbles confusedly, face slightly flushed.
A breezy laugh slips from Kaede as she leans back slightly to bump noses with her, causing her to blush up to her ears. “I know. I was just missing you both a lot. The house doesn’t feel as nice when it’s empty, y’know?”
Maki’s ears burn as she feels the other’s breath on her face. She swears that she’ll never get used to this, but honestly, she’s not sure if she minds it.
Chiaki gives them both a slight squeeze and pulls away, “Come on now, we won’t get to do anything if we just stay here all night.”
With a quick nod, Kaede relieves her partners of their grocery bags and hauls them into the kitchen, carefully setting them on the granite countertop. One by one she pulls snacks and snack-making ingredients out of the bags, stuffing the three small empty bags inside the stupidly large plastic grocery bag they keep under the sink.
The other two followed her into the kitchen, question marks hovering over their heads because despite their educated guesses, they still couldn’t make out what exactly Kaede wanted to do.
They didn’t need to wait long however, because as soon as she finished sorting out the ingredients into groups across the countertop, the connection was quickly made.
“So how do we feel about strawberry daifuku?” Kaede puffed out her chest, crossing her arms as she waited with bated breath for the other two to answer.
Maki and Chiaki share a momentary glance, Chiaki being the first to break out into a smile and nod along to the idea. The other also gives in rather easily, fiddling with the ends of her twintails, “Sure, I guess it’d be nice to make it for once instead of buying it.”
Kaede beams, positively over the moon as she starts unwrapping all the ingredients. Maki immediately rushes over to her, arms outstretched to keep her from causing an accident as she rushes back and forth between the fridge, pantry, and countertop. The sight of those two fumbling over each other was enough to make Chiaki laugh, only to earn a short scolding from Maki for sitting around instead of helping.
She shuffles off the barstool, but not without a huff, as she reaches into the depths of the countertop cupboard for a mixing bowl, tray, and plastic wrap. Once she sets them on the countertop, the three of them take turns washing their hands at the sink, but not before Kaede pulls up the recipe on her phone.
Maki shoots her a questioning glance, to which Kaede only puffs her cheek and ignores her as she continues poking around for the right recipe. “Look, I want to be accurate, okay?”
“…Uh-huh.”
“I’m serious! Do you want another baking disaster like last time? Because I’m pretty sure you were the one that added baking soda instead of baking powder.”
“I—” Maki opens her mouth, then shuts it, and then opens it again, “That… was my fault, yeah, but baking is different than making mochi.” She argues, lips pressed into a thin line, “I thought this’d be more straightforward.’
“Mm, I’m sure it is but it doesn’t hurt to have a recipe out, does it?” Chiaki supplied, setting the anko aside in a small bowl, “I know that Hajime and Nagito still have trouble making kusamochi, and that’s Hajime’s favourite snack of all time. Unless you make it pretty often, it’s kinda hard to have the measurements memorized.”
“Well, Hinata is a bit of a perfectionist and Komaeda is… Komaeda , but I guess I can understand needing a reference.”
Kaede gives Chiaki a grateful smile as she pulls up her favourite recipe, setting her phone on the pastel pink holder so the three of them could see it properly as they worked. She lets out a satisfied huff as she surveils the countertop, keeping track of everything they’d need to get to work.
“Alright, then!” Kaede slams her palms down on the countertop with a hard slap, startling Chiaki out of a daze in the process and making Maki jolt ramrod straight. Suddenly the room was charged with energy from that simple action; it felt like the lights were brighter, their minds clearer, and their spirits much livelier than they’d been all evening. Sometimes the other two would swear that their partner had magical powers of some sort.
“I’ll look over everything and handle the strawberries, but Chiaki, you’ll handle the anko,” She points at the sorry-looking bag of azuki beans before redirecting herself to Maki, wide grin on her face “And you will handle the shiratamako and you will make it into the best mochi in the world.”
“Yeah?” Maki smirks back at her, crossing her arms and leaning against the counter, “And why is that?”
“Because I have full faith in your perfectionist tendencies, and I have even more faith in your feelings for me!” She declares with blazing confidence.
The smirk slides right off of Maki’s face, leaving an unreadable expression which she wore for no longer than a few seconds before she sighs and rolls up her sleeves. “You are actually impossible.”
“But you love her!” Chiaki chips in with a sing-song voice.
She scoffs, ignoring the way her mouth feels a little dry as she pours out the rice flour and gets to work on the mochi, which she will by no means put all her effort into for Kaede’s sake. Not at all.
“ Maybe .”
The three of them got to work, going back and forth in perfect harmony, as they each did their part, only needing one break in between for some coffee-boosted hot chocolate. Chiaki looked over the other two, feeling pride swell in her chest as she watched them work side by side.
The kitchen light overhead was artificial but golden nonetheless, making them glow in a way only she could see and comprehend. Standing there at some ungodly hour of the night making an easily-bought store snack with her two girlfriends wasn’t part of her weekend plan, but really, she would rather give up every console she’s ever owned than give up this moment – even her limited-edition Sonic the Hedgehog Dreamcast.
Which is why she’s conflicted to bring up the next question.
“…Kaede, why are you doing all this anyway?”
The girl in question freezes, anko spread over the forefingers of one hand and a half-coated strawberry in the other. She chews her bottom lip, gaze stuck between the bright red fruit and the glare of the kitchen light reflecting off the countertop, until she finally puts the strawberry down and relents.
“I just… felt bad for putting you two through that.” She confesses, unable to look either of them in the eye as the suffocating pressure sets in bit by bit, “I mean, I swear I never knew it’d turn out so bad given that my colleagues are sweet and it’s usually less… frustrating when we meet up with the guys from high school.”
Maki opens her mouth to say something but stops, realizing that Kaede was swimming in her own thoughts, and that she wouldn’t be able to come out until she got everything off her chest.
“I mean, we could’ve just ignored it and stayed home from the beginning and I just… I didn’t know that the party would be such a drag or that it’d have creepy men making comments about us, b-but I can’t apologize enough for it.”
Chiaki hums in understanding, turning towards Kaede, before cupping her jaw and placing a feather light kiss while on her tip-toes. “It’s alright, there’s no way you would’ve known.”
And just like that, the tension is broken. On the other side, Maki slips her hand into Kaede’s silently, intertwining their fingers together and squeezing lightly, uncaring about the bit of anko she feels on her fingertips, “I think you’re being too sentimental about this, but… she’s right. Besides, we’re home now, aren’t we?”
Kaede sniffles, blinking away the mistiness in her eyes as she squeezes back with a small smile, “You’re right, you’re right – we are home…”
“Then… let’s wrap this up then, shall we?”
The two of them nod at Maki’s words, although they barely manage to hide their surprise at her taking the lead. Kaede starts up again, elbows deep into digging right back into the rice dough with furrowed eyebrows and rigid movements. Chiaki hums for a moment with a thoughtful look on her face, lightly nudging her girlfriend to a stop with her elbow.
“Hey, please be nicer to the mochi from here on out; don’t work bad feelings into your food or it won’t taste as good.”
Maki and Kaede laugh lightly at that, but Kaede’s hands still for a moment anyway, “Who told you that?”
“No one. It’s just a hunch.” Chiaki answered simply, looking back up at them with nothing short of pure adoration, “I just don’t want either of you to have bad memories of our time together, that’s all.”
-x-
Besides the first two daifuku coming out a little stickier than the rest, the dessert was a major success.
Kaede split the first one, insistent on the other two getting the first taste, but instead of giving it to them right then and there, she had one last surprise up her sleeve apparently.
They take the plate of twelve strawberry daifuku along with the other convenience store snacks and drinks in additional carry bags – making it easier to throw trash out without it getting spread all over… wherever Kaede was leading them.
Once they make it to the hallway, she pushes the door open to the master bedroom, where several plush pillows, comforters, stuffed toys, and blankets were laid out on the floor in front of the TV, right by the foot of their king-sized bed. Small fairy lights were strung from corner to corner, giving the room a warm and ambient glow besides the light of the television’s screensaver. A shimmery sheer cloth was draped overhead, catching the golden-white light within its pearly threads, the corners held up by some careful string work and a prayer, probably. But it did the trick nonetheless; the whole scene felt magical, like it was straight out of a lonely child’s sleepover fantasy.
Truth be told, it was probably the case for the three of them.
“You… did all this?”
Kaede nods her head gleefully.
“For us…?”
She nods her head again, twice as fast, and full of joy.
Maki is the first to start tripping over her words, always tongue-tied when it came to expressing the depths of her gratitude, but Chiaki knew her just as well as she knew herself, pulling the three of them into a tight hug – giving Maki a quick nudge in Kaede’s direction, before she quickly picked up the hint that this was her best chance, and placed a kiss between the taller girl’s lilac eyes.
“Oh,” Chiaki murmured as she pulled away from the both of them, “Who’s sitting in the middle?”
Kaede and Maki share a knowing look behind her, a grin forming on their faces.
“I think that you deserve the honours tonight, Chiaki!” Kaede declared, gently pushing the both of them towards the makeshift bed, picking up the bags of snacks and plate of mochi from the table so the other girls could have their hands free as they settled in.
Chiaki let out a muffled yelp as she was soon pulled down into the mess of blankets, although the feeling was more like being on a cloud than anything. She adjusted herself, tucking her legs under the comforter directly under her as the other two shuffled as close as possible, but not before Kaede grabbed three PlayStation 2 DualShock controllers and set them in front of everyone.
She looked at Kaede and then at Maki, who sat wordlessly with a small smile on her face, “So… can I ask why I’m in the middle today?”
“Nope!” An immediate sure-fire answer from Kaede.
Maki shuffles closer, looping an arm around Chiaki’s and nuzzling up to her warm, plush, body – not unlike a cat seeking warmth, “Maybe not everything needs an explanation. Sometimes it’s just nice to… love you, I suppose. You’re easy to love.”
“Mhmm!” Kaede agreed from the other side of Chiaki, cuddling up in a similar fashion, “You did a lot today and you worked hard. We’ll all get a turn in the middle, but today it’s just you. It’s you, always supporting us from the sidelines, always being the first to join our hands together.”
Chiaki blushed up to her ears and felt something bloom in her chest, cheeks burning warm enough that she was sure the other two could feel the heat radiating off of her, “Well, when you put it that way…” She mumbles bashfully.
She never does finish her sentence, and she never quite gets to hear why she was really put in the middle after all.
But as she finally sets her controller in her lap and reaches for a freshly made strawberry daifuku, Chiaki supposes that at the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter; there were three hundred and sixty-six days in a year, and more than enough time to share her love with them both.
She takes a bite – a delicate balance of mellow sweetness and tart coating her tastebuds, and unrestrained affection overwhelming all her other senses.

I WAS LITERALLY AVOIDING OTHWR MEDIA TOO SO I COULD PRESERVE MY HITTACHIN HYPERFIXATION and then my friend wanted to see a movie for their birthday,, fuck that friend in particular. how dare they make me consume outside media
my hyperfixations are usually really long. even if theres no more content of it for me to see, my headcanons and made up scenarios can keep it going FOREVER
in fact something really funny is that when i get a new hyperfixation i tend to just. completely drop the old one. i literally straight up abandoned a dsm p twitter stan account with nearly 1k followers and a bunch of close mutuals DAYS after starting danganronpa. once something grabs my mind it does Not Let Go
fortunately that didnt really happen with hitachiins to fruit brothers,, probably because there really wasn't much content for me to consume. i could rewatch the anime and it would last a few episodes, there's a fandom, but bullet train Just came out so there wasn't much of a fandom yet, and it wouldnt be on digital (or soap2day hehe) for a couple months or so.
anyway i really like that movie if you couldn't tell !!! personally i recommend it but fair warning its very gorey/bloody/violent (in that strange comedic way- think deadpool or kingsman) and made me CRY. like just sob. so the emotional damage was real but i loved it anyway
idk what it is that makes me love brother characters so much. i feel like its just so sweet to be to have siblings that are just ,, always there for each other. they grew up together, they've had each other through everything, good and bad, and they've survived at each other's side. they trust each other with their lives, even if they can't trust anyone else. its more than just a best friend thing too, because its an irreplaceable bond. its just,,, ougjfjhhjh its my favorite .
and thats probably indicative of some deep psychological issue but idc !! i just like silly brothers
how DARE your friend do that 🙄smh. war crime.
also i FEEL the dropping out of the other thing, altho mine is usually a slowish transition and i still make content for my other fixations occasionally......i p much dropped out of the AA hyperfixation but i still do love seeing fan art and reading fics it's just not my number 1 thing anymore (altho i will ALWAYS be down to talk abt it especially aa4.). i like to keep it around tho like all my other hyperfixations....just to revist every now and again. And to an extent asoryuu still has such a Grip on me. except certain hyperfixs i abandon Forever for one reason or another (not naming names but longtime followers maybe know the Big Two/derogatory im referring to)
I may put it on my to watch list (i have so many movies on there bro...) bc tho im squeamish with blood n gore on screen, i may enjoy it. I will look more into it :eyes:
And!!!!!!!!! REAL I love sibling characters..........characters in general who each other are their everything (co dependency my beloved/hj) and that's usually easier to find with siblings. I've also found?? I really just like. identical twin characters. just smth about having somebody who looks Just like you.....wadda hell. in some cases i like it when they cant Stand each other but also? when they're super close....mama mia. Close siblings man....melts into a puddle.
Hitachiins I guess struck it big with me bc 1.co-dependency 2.identical twins 3.i will not lie i Do kinda like twincest......so their funny little club act is mostly hilarious but also like......u do this For Fun ? 🤨 ALSO the ANGST potential with them.....esp bc Kaoru is such a depressed bastard.....IT'S ALL I'VE EVER WANTED !!

oh goodness.. i am just now starting on this but i KNOW i’m probably posting this like a while after i got tagged in it.
any way @abstract-moth tagged me in the fanfic ask game (thank u for the tag btw 🥰) so here it goes!
How many works do you have on A03?
on AO3 I have 61 but have 100+ on my google drive that i haven’t posted.
What's your total A03 word count?
122468
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
The only ones that are still up are bnha, but back in the day i started on an IT one but never finished it and a Danganronpa/bnha crossover i also never finished.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1.
2.
3.
(this one is one of my favorites)
4.
5.
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
oh wow.. hmm.. i usually like to end it on a good note..
the first chapter of We Will Figure This Out is pretty angsty but i do fix it by the end.
ohh wait.. bracelets has a pretty angsty ending too.. i forgot about that one
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
most of them really.. Cold is pretty much fluff all the way throughout.. Gender is Weird has a v good ending too.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you've written?
tried and failed with the Danganronpa and bnha crossover
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
no..? not gonna lie i have thought about it.. but like it would have to be a very specific category where it’s mostly fluff and have a whole bunch of emotional depth behind it.. or will be important to the story i’m trying to tell.
I almost wrote some for the college au but chicken out.. but who knows i still might add some..
As an SA victim it’s something i’m definitely interested but also scared to write bc i have done so much of my healing through writing and projecting on to characters with similar truama so i think i could definitely see myself writing at least one smut fic just to try it but honestly it’s such a touchy and important subject to me personally and to others that i know i would have to be super careful when writing it.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
yeah! most of the time at least. I actually met one of my best friends and a lot of my mutuals on here through my ao3 comments!
The only times i don’t respond is when it is hate or if i don’t have the spoons to do so.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
only a few times, mostly just people who are mad when i call enji out on his abuse. Or people who are mad that I give tenya the love and appreciation he deserves.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
i’m not sure but i don’t think so
Have you ever had a fic translated?
no but i think that would be cool
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
kinda? one of my best friends and i started on one but it was during a CHAOTIC time in my life so we never finished it. And idk if this counts as co-writing but i run pretty much all of my ideas off of @moonwack before they are ever written and they always have wonderful ideas for things i should write.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
i know this is unexpected and may surprise people.. but it’s todoiideku (/s on the first part)
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
oh gosh.. there are so many and i hate it.. probably my aroace soulmate au though..
What are your writing strengths?
tbh i don’t know if i have ANY besides my creativity. My dyslexia makes grammar and spelling so hard for me and i’m always scared it will turn people away from my fics.
but I am constantly writing stories in my head and there hasn’t been a single day that i haven’t thought about something i want to write in YEARS. so there is that.
What are your writing weaknesses?
can i just put dyslexia as an answer here and how much energy writing takes from me so i go months without posting sometimes.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
tbh i haven’t put much thought into it. It doesn’t really bother me if it’s done correctly. i’m p neutral on it.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I think IT but i’m not sure.
What's your favorite fic you've written?
oo such a good question.
On ao3 probably bracelets, Fresh Start, or We Will Figure This Out.
I have one written in my docs called worst moments that i love and i should probably post too though..
thanks again for the tag @abstract-moth! this actually made me think a lot and i enjoyed doing it.
I tag @sunnyillyana and @quasiimodo
(don’t feel pressured to do it if you don’t want to though, i just know both of you write and thought you might have fun doing this 🥰)

20 Questions for Fic Writers
So, I saw someone I follow get tagged to do this with an end note that anyone who wanted to could complete it as well. So… I did, ha. I’m not putting it in a read more, but be warned it is a bit long. Not super long for once, though. I’ll put a blank one in a read more at the end, though, if anyone else wants to do it. :-)
~XoX~
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
I have a total of 27 works published on AO3. :-)
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
Ah. It’s. Um. 2,094,546. I’m. Um. Not concise. A lot of that came from after the pandemic, since I wrote two 375k+ fics in the span of a month and a half respectively, and then a 400k+ fic that is an endless WIP now, sadly, all since 2020. Yeah.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I’ve written for a lot of different fandoms. Let me take a look… Danganronpa, Gravity Falls, Supernatural, The Hobbit, Detroit: Become Human, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Super Mario, Batman (the Telltale games specifically), Harry Potter (back before JK went completely off the rails and showed her true colors), and The Avengers (Iron Man specifically, post End Game).
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Here they are in order from most to least, with the amount of kudos and the fandom: Luigi and the Beast (Mario): 1,771 A Pirate's Life (Gravity Falls): 1,290 The Problem with Perfection (Danganronpa): 1,259 Compatible (Gravity Falls): 996 Strangers to Suffering (Avatar: The Last Airbender): 648
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Uh. Not usually, no… I tried to with my most recent fic, but it just got too much. I always overthink my replies and they end up being overly long and needlessly complicated for a simple question or comment. I feel awkward just writing “Thanks for the comment!!!” though, so I often don’t. Also, I dislike how it makes it seem like I have more comments on my fics than I do, you know?
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hm… probably A Pirate’s Life. I usually have happy endings to my fics, even the super angsty ones, but with APL, I had the main characters (Dipper and Bill Cipher… don’t judge me, there were a lot of cute fics for it back in the day that I liked. I also aged up Dipper a bit, so… yeah) go their separate ways in the end. It was a bittersweet ending, and I still stick with it. The characters as I wrote them would not have ended up together, but they do end up having mostly happy lives separately.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hm… this is hard, since— like I said— most of my fics end happily. I can’t say which one ended the happiest, really.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I used to when I was younger and just starting out, and it makes me paranoid that every comment I get will be full of hate and derision. But honestly? I’ve not gotten any hate on any of my fics in years, especially the newer ones. I have gotten some people who say they didn’t like the direction a certain fic took, but since it was clearly marked in my tags, I tend to just shrug and ignore those. Most people aren’t harsh anymore, though.
9. Do you write smut?
Ehhhh. Yes, but only as a way to move the plot along. Not smut for smut’s sake, since it makes me feel awkward.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Not usually, but I did write a Danganronpa fic that was set in Hogwarts once (again, before J.K. Rowling went completely off the rails and I gave up on HP).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of, no. I did find one on Good Reads once, but I think someone just linked my fic? Not sure how Good Reads works, honestly.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I’ve had a couple people start translating a fic, but they never finished translating it.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, and I don’t think I ever will. Not only do I not have anyone I’m close enough with to write a fic with, but I don’t think I’d be good at it. I can’t follow a plan to save my life, which I imagine would be frustrating for someone trying to write with me.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Ah, this I can’t really say… I have a lot of ships that mean a lot to me, and picking one to be my “favorite” would be too tricky. I like all of them for different reasons.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oh boy. Luigi and the Beast and The Problem With Mondo. I desperately want to finish both fics, but I don’t think I ever, ever will. I legit cannot continue writing stories that I’ve stopped writing for longer than a week or two. It’s why my longest fics were all written in the span of a month and a half. If I don’t write that quickly, I never finish. -.-
16. What are your writing strengths?
I’m really good at writing emotions, I think. I do a lot of introspection and I have a fairly good grasp on my own emotions and my responses to my emotions, so I can write emotional scenes very well, I believe. I’m also decent with dialogue and descriptions.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Plot. Plot, plot, plotty plot plot. Anytime I try to write a story with a solid plot, it comes apart at the seams. Like I said earlier, I cannot follow a plan to save my life, and so I often will move away from any plot I thought up initially and end up somewhere very weird and bizarre. Or, conversely, I will figure out where I want the story to go plot wise only after I have been writing it for a little while, and so the plot feels weak and disjointed with the start of the fic. Either way, it does not make for a fun experience with writing. Which is why I tend to stick to basic plots with lots of dialogue and emotions.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I just use Google Translate… that’s what I did for Luigi and the Beast with the Italian.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter, since I was a HUGE fan when I was in middle school. It’s actually what got me interested in fanfiction and writing in the first place, since before that I never knew fanfics existed and I didn't much care for creative writing in general. I first wrote a handwritten Rose/Scorpius fic during lunch in like… 7th grade, but only got a page or so in before scrapping it. Then I started writing Dramione on FF . net and never really stopped writing. I think I've written at least one fic a year since... 2013 I'd like to say? Wait... no, 2012. I looked on FF . net and it shows that my first fic was published in 2012, when I was the tender age of 14...
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Honestly? I think it’s either Dance of the Robot (which is a fix-it fic for Avengers: End Game, where Steve goes back in the past and becomes Tony’s honorary— and somewhat distant— uncle. It explores their relationship when Tony is young and how hurt he is by everyone always ignoring him, especially Steve who avoids him because of like… timeline reasons. I really like this fic since it makes me feel a little better about the whole “Steve travels back in time to be with Peggy!!!” thing. I still think it’s stupid, but I like the idea of Tony and Steve having a familial relationship, even if Steve had to be distant for the timeline’s sake), or The Problem with Perfection (my Danganronpa fic. I go back and forth on liking this story, but ultimately, I am very pleased with how it turned out, and think that it is one of my few long fics that actually told the story I wanted to tell accurately and decently. Since it didn’t have too much in the way of plot, and since I discovered where I wanted to go with the story fairly early on, I was able to circumvent the usual downfalls I have with my other long fics). Both of these fics accomplished what I wanted them to accomplish, and I enjoy both of them in different ways.
Anyway, that took a while to complete, ha. Feel free to do this if you’d like!! :-D
Here's a blank version if you want to do it yourself:

Peko Pekoyama x SHSL Bodyguard!Reader who competes with her
Tumblr media
Hey hey! I love this prompt! Hopefully you’ll like it 🥺 (and don’t be sorry!! you didn’t do anything wrong!!)
Tumblr media
✒︎Mod Miu
As the ultimate bodyguard, your duty is to always protect those who you are assigned to
Being hired by the Kuzuryuu clan to protect Fuyuhiko, you never thought you’d be competing with an ultimate swordswoman
It started off with something small, so you didn’t really notice it at first
Like who finished writing first, who cleans faster, etc.
But then, one time when it was lunch, after Peko finished eating, you heard her mutter under her breath;
“I finished eating first,”
You were confused. How? What? Why?????
Apparently, every small, similar things that you do together is a competition for her
And so, you took on the challenge of competing with her, even though you literally have no idea why
But it made you kinda happy
As well as Peko, but she won’t admit it lol-
You made sure Fuyuhiko doesn’t notice it of course
...yeah that didn’t go as planned as the whole class noticed that you and Peko were in a small competition every time
Kazuichi and Ibuki totally didn’t bet on either of you on who will win-
One time, you challenged Peko to who gets to pet Gundham’s hamsters first
Knowing her, you knew she will agree to the challenge which resulted to both of you trying to find him
During your free time, you both tried to find Gundham everywhere
Eventually, you found him at the garden, taking care of a small bunny
You were overjoyed since you thought you were the first one to see him
But as you were walking towards him, you saw Peko at the far end, looking directly at him
She also saw you and ended up glaring at you in which you glared back
You both locked on to Gundham, who was holding a rabbit and not noticing the both of you, and started to ran
Upon nearing him, you both tried to stop each other
Gundham is still oblivious to the fight that is happening around him-
While you both were busy stopping each other, none of you noticed that Gundham left
Until you reach the spot where he was supposed to be
“Well, that sucks. I still found him first though”
Peko glared at you in response
You giggled at her glare, which turned into both of you laughing your asses off for unknown reasons
Next morning, everyone was confused on why you and Peko are giggling while petting Gundham’s hamster
It took a lot of begging to get Gundham to allow you both to pet the devas-
Everyone thought both of you were like enemies or something and now you’re friends??
Everyone's like: what???
During lunch time, you both make references only either of you can understand, making Fuyuhiko confused all the time
He’s happy that you guys finally get along, even though there’s still minor and playful competitions between the two of you
