Figure collecting: Jojo's Caesar & Joseph Joestar SAS

Finally got the key pieces of my Caejose shrine delivered!

There's actually 3 Medicos SAS figures here: Joseph (Winter Wonfes 2014 LE), "original" Caesar (head only) and Caesar Second version (body only). I so desperately wanted anime color Caesar that I had to Frankenstein two figures together. But I do like the result : 3

Still missing the chair I ordered for these knuckleheads; it's gonna be a few months on that. And I have 3 (?) more Joseph items on the way, some of which might get added to the display as well.

Medicos Super Action Statue

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

A selection of figures from Medicos masterful Jojo line.

The name isn't an exaggeration - these are stunning toys. They really do feel like poseable statues - impeccable sculpting, paint work, textures and proportions.

It helps that manga author Hirohiko Araki is personally involved with designs and color choices.

SAS is nearly complete line of figures from every part across the franchise - only slowing down in recent years, with many Steel Ball Run character relegated to convention exclusive - and Jojolion is very underrepresented.

But they're still releasing new figures every few months.

But this is a line built to last. Figures have been re-released multiple times over the years. Sculpts are perfectly textured and layered - with belts and jewelry and jackets sculpted with the same attention to detail as anything else on the toy. The goal is to get it right the first time and make it the definitive version of these characters.

Some of the figures shown here are almost 15 years old and they still look better than a most of the high-end toys you can find today.

Figure collecting: Caejose shrine complete??

Finally "finished" my Caejose shrine! Though I can't help thinking I still have room for some mini acrylic stands, hmm... A collector's work is never done, *sigh*

(The reason everything is crammed into an 8x12 area is because there's an acrylic box that encases the whole thing, but it's harder to photograph with the case in the way, so it's not shown. Also the acrylic stand on the far right of the 2nd photo doesn't fit in the case boohoo, I'll have to find a home for it elsewhere).

This chair was the last piece I needed, and rather expensive for what it was (though I got it used, yay) but it really is such a good match to the ones in the Jojo World art. Not 100% satisfied with the pose on the SAS figures here (I liked my earlier pose slightly better, but it didn't work within the confines of the chair).

I would love if when medicos got around to making Jojolion super action statues, they did a redo of Gappy. Because his current SAS does not look like him to me. I do like the statue legend of him tho.
