An idea popped into my head that I feel you would write very well!

Rafe x virgin!reader. They are having a pretty heavy make out sesh, he slips his hand into her pants and then she just blurts it out? Like, "I'm a virgin," and she's like terrified. But rafe doesn't mind at all.

your night with rafe had gone as perfect as any night could have, dinner by the beach, watching the sun go down while you ate dessert, and then heading back to tannyhill with him for the night, like you always did.

your nights with rafe always ended the same day, crawling into bed wearing one of his big shirts and then making out until you were soaking through your panties and rafe was hard beneath you. you're sure that rafe might have guessed you're a virgin by now, from the way everything he does is so new to your body, reacting primally to every touch. the two of you fall asleep like that, and you feel tingly from your head to your toes, waiting for rafe to say something about going further.

you're sure he would. there's no doubt in your mind that he's ready to, and he's probably done this with a million girls before you-a thought that makes you want to cry, but you put that aside. you're rafe's now, and you know that giving him your virginity is part of the deal. you're not sure just when that'll be, since he has you in your panties nearly every night.

maybe it'd be tonight. when the two of you get back to his room, you head for his dresser immediately to pull out a shirt, but rafe pushes you against the door. he leans down into a deep kiss, and you let it progress, hands snaking into his hair while he holds your waist tightly, his own hands running up and down the soft material of your sundress.

it's a little uncomfortable against the door like this, but rafe eases you up immediately, your legs wrapping around him while he pins you in place. you don't mean to start moving your hips, grinding down against him, it's just instinct, chasing that toe-curling feeling that you haven't been able to feel with rafe yet. his hands snake further down to the hem of your dress, and then slide underneath the material to the smooth skin of your legs.

rafe's hands keep traveling, gripping your thighs while he keeps you locked in a kiss that has you feeling dizzy, would have your knees weak if he wasn't holding you up. his tongue pokes into your mouth, and you moan around it, not even wanting to pull away to breathe.

you have to, though. rafe's hands are at the waistband of your panties, and just as he starts to grope, finding where he can yank them down so he can finally do what he wants to you, you pull away, hands resting flat on his chest.

he likes you like this--hair disheveled, lips red and swollen, the strap of your dress hanging off your shoulder. he leans in, pressing a kiss to your shoulder and then your collar, then up your neck.

"rafe," you whine, but it's easy to let him keep going. "we should stop-"

his eyes dart up to meet yours, pulling his face away from your neck.

"why would i do that, hm?" he kisses you again, but you turn your head away. "finally got you where i want you."

"i-well, i'm a virgin, rafe." it falls out of your mouth, even though you've spent countless hours thinking about the best way to tell him. you've thought everything through, how to say it, how to reply based on his response, how to deal with the embarrassment you're sure to feel.

"yeah?" he questions, pulling away to look at you in the eyes. still pushed against the wall, you can feel his hard dick pressed against you. the two of you don't move an inch, besides for the nodding of your head to answer his question.

"so, no one else has ever touched you where m'touching you?"

you shake your head.

"and no one's ever seen you like this?"

you shake again, feeling your eyes get watery.

"i'm sorry-"

"why're you saying sorry? told you to stop doin' that."

"because... because it's embarrassing."

"says who? hm?"

"says everyone. right?"

"no, kid. not me. you want me to stop?" your body melts into his grip. you shake your head again. "good girl. c'mon, get on the bed. not taking your virginity against this door."

I don't know what comic's you've read but I know my favourites are Birds of Prey. I know you're a fan of black canary so that might already be ticked off the list but If not it's a big one for me. So

- the 1999 - 2009 birds of prey run

- the 2010 birds of prey run

(with emphasis on Gail Simone's run in that)

- the more recent Batgirl and the birds of prey

The four issue 2007 mini Black Canary run is also very good, though a continuation of the birds run.

And I'm also a huge fan of the current BoP run but it's only one issue in.

Most of my comic recs are highly Black Canary based (evidently) but I can also recommend

- Injustice: Gods Among us (though I am biased, as it's what got me into comics and introduced me to Dinah)

- Batwoman (I personally prefer the new 52 to rebirth but enjoyed both)

- Gotham City garage is almost exclusively women

And if you wanted comics that weren't the superhero kind I'd also recommend The Wicked and The Divine from Image comics, I don't know how easy it is to find now but a large part of the cast is women and would be great if you liked mythology.

second off love that most of ur recs are black canary based SO TRUE of you, i have read most of these im pretty sure, i definitely combed thru as much birds of prey content as i could find though i did not know there was a new run out ! so ill have to look into that for sure. and god reading the black canary 2007 short run was sooooo. (ive also read the green arrow & black canary run).

im pretty sure ive read both of the batwoman runs? i definitely read one of the runs if not both. i cannot tell based off of the random comic screenshots i have on my phone which one/or both for sure. okay wait no this one image is def from new52 and the batwoman rebirth cover looks familar but i have no idea if that means i read it or not

gotham city garage!! im not deep in the comics world but it feels like a very underrated run it was literally so much fun and SO women <3 (demon's head dinah?? hello?????) great comic run second probably only to bombshells in my heart

i will definitely have to give injustice gods among us a try bc clearly you have great taste, ive never been super interesting in the injustice universe mostly bc batman and superman fighting bores me (except for the iconic holy musical batman production by team starkid)

ive heard about wicked & the divine and its definitely one thats been like vaguely on my radar so i probably should look more into it bc it sounds really cool.even tho at the end of the day i might just be.a superhero bitch. i do love women and mythology

Quick note !! Neon City : Lights Out is a collab story w/ Malachi !!! So things def vary on our specific characters but we also toss around our ocs and concepts of them for funsies alot ♡

3.) any recurring images/elements?

YESSS !!!! the most reoccuring image as of rn is the sparkle (✧) I draw in my art regularly to elements of actual world building like games and childlike wonder

4.) what would you say is the message, if there is one.

The message definitely varies character to character but in the case of Carmen Valentine (aka Rune), it's about learning to trust and lean on other people who care for her along with uncovering the reality of a lifestyle she's becomes heavily intertwined with.

7.) how would you describe the relationships between the characters in the story within eight words or less?

The most bisexual tension of all time.

8.) what inspired your world building, if anything?

Alot of things inspired NC:LO !!! Of course other hero/villain stories played a part in starting off but as we've made more of a world for Neon City it's definitely become a world that heavily centers on being as wacky as we can possibly make it! (which DEFINITELY affects our other story Fine Days.)

13.) how long have you been working on this project? what has changed from the outset?

OMG LEGIT??? ITS BEEN YEARS!!!!!! Originally (if I'm remembering right) it started off a hero/villain au concept for mystreet characters ?? (specifically Garroth and Laurence) then over time we made it into our own ocs that we started to make but stop working on for a couple of years (I wanna say we were abt 15 at the time?? So it's been abt 4 years now.)

13.) how long have you been working on this project? what has changed from the outset?

I think that's abt it ?? Mal can add stuff abt her characters too !!!
