Something i really enjoy about my (modern au) vigdagcup ship is that its a mess

initially the tension between viggo and dagur comes out of jealousy and mistrust. Like viggo keeps calling dagur hiccup's "ex felon friend" behind his back and dagur refers to viggo as hiccups sugar daddy (to his face), not his boyfriend or partner. Neither of them think the other really cares about hiccup.

and dagurs pissed off because he had a chance at a serious relationship with hiccup but insisted on being casual...now hes realizing that he does have feelings but hiccup has started dating this older successful guy...so his defense is to look at it as purely transactional and not as hiccup forming a deep connection with someone other than him.

Anyway when they start having threesomes at first its all about hiccup...but then dagur warms up to viggo a little more, and wants to be more intimate with him.

Meanwhile viggo is also attracted to dagur but CANT STAND HIM like just looking at him makes viggo mad and the fact that they're mutually physically attracted to each other somehow makes it worse.

Viggo will be doing something and notice dagur staring at him from the corner of his eye and hes like WHAT WHAT IS IT??? And dagur shrugs and says something like i dunno you're kinda hot. And theres practically steam coming out of viggos ears. The veins are popping out of his forehead and dagur thinks its hilarious.

And then eventually they start sleeping together even when hiccups not around and its....very intense. Like the mose aggressive hate sex you can imagine.

And every time viggos like ugh lets never do that again. And dagurs like yeah sure 😏

So...i guess I'll add that to the list of things i need to write

I'm rly excited to share it, cross your fingers for me when I go in w the colors lol!

I always wanted to write/draw more about how I imagine Hiccup would build relationships nd spend quality time with Dagur or Viggo (or both at once?) through things like drawing, documenting and studying dragons... in one of my old drafts Hiccup would be covering up/redoing a tattoo that Dagur had (the list of enemies if I recall correctly - and would change it into something more ornate and dragon related to symbolize him changing sides). I want so bad to just see them going on long travels together with their dragons, stopping on a remote island to camp overnight... falling asleep on the other's shoulder telling stories around the campfire...

I also had another thought that I thought you in particular or other pple in the fandom might be interested in - say at that point in the future Hiccup is the chief of Berk, Viggo is ruling the Berserker tribe and has married Heather (it goes well w the Skrill being bonded to him, ALSO YOU PEOPLE BROKE ME AND I SHIP THEM a little NOW), And Dagur is maybe ruling the Defenders with Mala? (altho to be real I don't really see what rtte writers were thinking, I just don't see them together, but for the sake of this scenario where everyone else has a wife/kids at home...)

And it would be like an annual conference, maintaining a peace treaty or something along those lines... would start off with all three of them meeting on Berk, catching up with one another over Mead in the mess hall... and before you know it they've gone on a several day long trip to visit the Edge, to spend some time reminiscing over the battles all of them fought with one another (and re-live that spark...). One thing leads to another and they're catching up on all the lost time physically. It's been so long, and Hiccup's bonds with the two have if anything deepened over the years, but living so far away from one another... so many different emotions wash over them at the catharsis of being together like this again.

Their wives don't have to know. Or maybe they do? Maybe they always knew.

and I'm not gonna pretend to know the original meaning behind the song...this is just my interpretation of how it works with dagcup

I see this song in the context of a modern dagcup au. Both Hiccup and Dagur are struggling with mental health issues. Dagur is self destructive and self loating and his behaviours are severely affecting Hiccup as well. He might be the type of person to threaten to harm himself if Hiccup doesn't do what he wants.

the song is a mix of him refusing help, hating himself, and dragging hiccup along with him

"Tear You Apart" by She Wants Revenge

This song makes me feral I can't explain it. It reminds me a lot of Closer but with a different sound.

Honestly I see this as more of a dagcup song...specifically for the highschool/college Dagcup AU I made up/was obsessed with last summer - in which Dagur and Hiccup are paired up for a project - Hiccup is not happy about it because Dagur's kind of an asshole and he knows he's going to end up doing all the work. Dagur is conflicted because he has a huge crush on Hiccup but absolutely does not want to acknowledge it at all. He denies his feelings until the bubble bursts and they may or may not end up making out in Dagur or Hiccup's bedroom. (I also imagine a lot of cute bonding moments where they show each other the music and video games they like...and Dagur tries to find as many ways to spend time with Hiccup as possible.)

Dagur makes it clear that it's *only* physical and he definitely does not want a boyfriend - and Hiccup goes along with it because honestly he's surprised that someone is even attracted to him. There's lots of moments where Hiccup will forget the "rules" and hold Dagur's hand in public or look at him in a way that Dagur thinks is too romantic and Dagur keeps telling him to stop.

But Dagur starts to realize oh no he's slowly falling harder and harder for this complete nerd and he has no idea what to do about it.

At some point it ends with Dagur just saying screw it and deciding to be open about his relationship with Hiccup. I think after an argument he might go up to Hiccup in the hallway and take his hand to walk him to class. And Hiccup would ask what about the rules? And Dagur says fuck the rules.

I see this song as Dagur finally working up the courage to either tell Hiccup he's attracted to him or that he has feelings for him

honestly this is the song that made me want to make the playlist

There's not much to explain about the song...it's got jealousy, toxicity, possessiveness...but all in a very playful way, like the narrator is revelling in how terrible the situation is because they don't know what else to do. I imagine this mostly from Viggo and Dagur's perspectives as they compete over Hiccup

I didn't bold any parts for emphasis because literally the whole song screams vigdagcup lol

(fun fact, I first heard this song in a Loki x Thranduil fan video. I CANNOT explain how much I was obsessed with that ship around 2014/2015)

Chose this song for the chaotic OT3 because it sounds like people locked in a dangerous power play where they're constantly trying to outwit each other...but at the same time it feels very seductive to me. I think this works mostly between Hiccup and Viggo, but Dagur could be involved as well.

ok so honestly this is more of a viggo/dagur song. viggur? daggo? what's the judgement on this? I prefer viggur.

anyway this song perfectly matches the viggo/dagur dynamic in the fic im working on in which dagur is an absolute simp for viggo, who treats him like an annoying stray dog

but I also think it would be hilarious from this song to be from both hiccup and viggo's perspective. like verse 1 is hiccup annoyed that he's attracted to dagur and verse 2 is definitely viggo's pov. like perfectly describes my fic. i love it so much.

the fact that its sexy dance music only makes it better to me. i can see this being very good mood music for a modern au

this is gonna be a long ass ramble about viggo, dagur, the boys, and holly oaks - hope you're ready

so butcher from the boys and brendan from holly oaks are two messed up characters i was already obsessed with but there are so many similarities between not only them but dagur and viggo

like brendan and butcher both generally look like viggo but act like dagur (i would say brendan is like 60/40 dagur/viggo meanwhile butcher is dagur all the way)

theyre both shipped with a younger twinkish brown haired man (*cough* hiccup) that they have an unhealthy relationship with, and the brown-haired man was or is in a relationship with a blonde woman (*cough* astrid) who's angry about the toxic relationship.

they both have horrible fathers and sweet younger siblings that they feel guilty about not protecting enough (the sibling part is very dagur)

and they both have blood feuds with ruthless men - the difference here being that brendans enemy wants to kill him and butcher wants to kill his enemy

brendan's rival (walker) is fun too because he reminds me of dagur in that he would go on a years' long revenge plot against anyone who would hurt heather, but his personality is more similar to viggo's

also walker is played by neil newbon so that's a plus

the rivalry between brendan and walker would be SO fun to use as inspiration for a fic about viggo and dagur. i havent watched full episodes of holly oaks but ive seen hours of clips (only about brendan, walker, and ste...dont care about anyone else) and I vaguely remember walker and brendan physically fighting and then pausing mid-fight to have sex, and if that's not sometihng viggo and dagur would do idk what is

not gonna lie...this is not really a vigdagcup song but specifically a Dagur song

descriptions and stuff below because theres reference to abuse in prison

So I have this narrative in my head (literally made it up today) about Dagur befriending and then falling in love with an inmate in prison - someone smaller and a bit younger than him who he protects from the abuse that he himself faced during his first year or two before he bulked up and was better able to protect himself.

I imagine this man reminds dagur a lot of hiccup - even if just on a superficial level, and that becomes a large part of his attatchmeent to him...and it kind of freaks the other guy out. Like Dagur may sleepily say "good morning Hiccup" to him before realizing what he's said and then get really embarrassed about it

I keep going back and forth about the nature of their relationship...whether they both have genuine affection or its more one sided or even manipulative on Dagur's part and the other man just wants his protection - I tend to go with the latter option. I imagine them escaping together and the other man leaving Dagur, angry that he still expects them to have any kind of relationship on the outside. And Dagur begs him to stay with him because he's the only source of human connection he currently has...like gets down on his knees and begs and says that he loves him. it doesn't work.

I think the lyrics also reflect some of Dagur's darker thoughts...two of the lines sound like suicide ideation to me

My conditions for shipping these three are very specific - it's in a modern AU where Viggo and Hiccup start as a couple and Dagur joins them afterwards.

Dagur and Hiccup used to be involved, but Dagur wanted to stay casual meanwhile Hiccup fell in love with him and broke things off because they both wanted different things.

Then after Viggo and Hiccup get together, they consider trying a threesome - cue Dagur. And again, Dagur's like yeah this is casual, but eventually realizes that he does in fact have feelings for Hiccup, which complicates things with Viggo, who doesn't know how he feels about the threesome if Hiccup still has feelings for Dagur too.

Viggo is absolutely infuriated by the fact that he's attracted to Dagur, because Dagur annoys the shit out of him. Like every time he sees him he doesn't know if he wants to rip his head off or his clothes off more. Dagur flirts with him incessantly and Hiccup thinks this is hilarious.

Eventually, Viggo gets to know Dagur better and realizes that there's more to him than his cocky behaviour and he is actually a golden retriever in the inside. I think bonding scenes between them would be great because Dagur's extremely affectionate and will go in for hugs and cuddles and Viggo just sighs and accepts it. Viggo doesn't necessarily fall in love with Dagur the way he does with Hiccup, but he ends up caring for him quite a lot.
