I got an idea for a ROTTMNT au. I mean, it's still very much a couple of ideas, but here is the main idea : Donnie is the big brother. I wanted to know what would the role of leader/big brother would do to the tech guy. For me, that means he often had to choose between his tech and projects and caring for his brothers. So he sucks at both (the first if compared to initial rottmnt, the latter if compared to Raph). Yes I like angst, but this is nothing new.

He also would be better at ninjutsu (again... not as good as Leo), because following the rules of the Hamatos would have been his role (at least that what he thinks). He's a bit closer to Splinter, because he bugger him again and again for some stuff ? (dunno, very much not settled). Oh, and to add a level of difficulty, this Donnie wouldn't still money on a daily basis. I don't know I'll get that realistically, but that would be nice (my reasoning: he began to do that, Splinter found out, and blah blah stealing is bad so... maybe he does freelance stuff on the side to pay for fodd or whatevs)

His design is very much not complete, but you can note:

no battle shell. He the fastest of his brothers.

The pants. Where he keeps his gadgets and tools

Three bôs that can fold. They're not as yummy techy as rottmnt but at least they're in titanium and have some sweet tech still

still has his tech glasses, but wears them around his neck

Not the funny guy anymore - it's a bit of a sport to relax him. Still, he likes wordplay and well turned jokes.

So... yeah. Maybe some stuff will disappear, some stuff won't. I really want him to struggle with tech (THEY LIVE IN A SEWER)

Random Hamato-Jitsu-Draxum family shared custody headcanons cause I can't sleep :P

After that whole situation with Big Mama/Shredder/the Council of Heads has been settled and Draxum decides that yeah, these are his kids too and he does want to spend a little more time with them, he and Splinter agree to a schedule 

The official schedule is the boys sleeping over at Draxum’s apartment every 2nd and 4th weekend of the month, though the boys are pretty much allowed to visit whenever and vice-versa for Draxum, now that he and Splints don’t completely hate each other. 

Draxum’s still trying to learn about human holidays so those + birthdays are spent at the Lair and he’s alowed to join in on them, though Draxum is also allowed to take the boys on Yokai holidays and festivals

Speaking of which, since he isn’t wanted by the Council anymore, he’ll sometimes take the boys to certain spots in the Hidden City to teach them about the Yokai side of their heritage. …or just to show off a little. (“Heh, I bet they don’t have something THAT impressive on the surface, huh boys?”) 

Four teenagers (five, if April comes along) can be VERY overwhelming at times, leading to lots of screaming, arguing and upset feelings that he has go later apologize for if Draxum is in an impatient mood that day. So, for the first few months - just to give him a chance to get used to this whole ‘parenting thing’

he only takes two of the turtles each visiting weekend before eventually making his way up to all four. Technically they’re supposed to take turns so Draxum can spend an equal amount of time bonding with all of them, though Mikey’s still usually able to work his way into most of the Draxum Weekends

if a mission or an emergency ever overrides a Draxum weekend, the boys try to make it up to him by either sleeping over two weekends in a row or stopping over for supper for a few nights that following week 

Draxum’s place is a one-bedroom, so the turtles have to sleep on the floor. The night before the first weekend, Draxum had no idea what all they would need. And so, not wanting to push them away (or listen to their complaining all night) he ended up buying four air mattresses and as many blankets as his lunch lady paycheck could get him. …he then facepalms when he sees they brought their own sleeping bags and pillows (though the boys certainly don’t mind the extra comfort)

Draxum only has ten channels on his tv and basic wi-fi, so they have to get creative when figuring out how to spend the weekend. Lots of VHS tapes, board games (Both Draxum and Leo are MALICIOUS when it comes to Monopoly), and walks around the city. He also has that orb from the Goyles ep to show the boys scenes from the past, for when he wants to teach them stuff

it’s always a toss up when they visit whether it’s gonna be a weekend full of trying to mix human and Yokai styles of cooking or a weekend of take-out, depending on how tired Draxum is from his lunch lady duties (Mikey still takes it upon himself to make yummy snacks and awesome breakfasts though)

Huginn and Muninn live at Draxum’s place when they find him again. They do odd jobs and help pay rent and keep him company when the boys aren’t there. In return, Draxum brings them home cafeteria leftovers and buys them a cat tower. “Upgraaaaade~!“ 

April doesn’t mind Draxum and will sometimes hang out over at his place when the boys are over. Splinter… They’re sort of friends (more like casual allies) and can tolerate being in the same room, with Splinter even being willing to give him parenting advice.

Granted, Splinter hasn’t forgiven Draxum - and there’s a good chance he’ll never forgive him - but he can accept that both Draxum and his sons want to try and have a relationship with each other. So, as long as he feels there’s no danger to them, he’ll allow the visits to keep happening. Draxum may not be a friend to him, but like Mikey said, he is technically family 

Hidden in his bedroom in a locked drawer, Draxum keeps a notebook of information he gathers during their weekend visits, from important things like allergies and things that make them uncomfortable to basics like favorite foods and hobbies. He may still be his usual grumpy and aggressive self half the time, but he really does want to be a decent father and caregiver, figuring that his creations - his SONS - who cared enough to give him a second chance and a new life deserve that at the very least

going around tsukiji, teamlab planets, ueno, november 2019 - day 7.

after a good night rest, i have full recovered and ready for another day of fun! my friend and i started our journey at tsukiji market. even though the fish market itself has moved to toyasu, there are still many food stores and restaurants in the outer market worth exploring, and it was packed with tourists when we arrived.

good thing for us, i had done some research beforehand, so we went straight to the few stores that i wanted to visit, starting with aji-no-hamato 味の浜藤 which sells morokoshi-age, deep fried corn with fish cake. the snack taste nice, the corn was sweet and the fish paste is bouncy but i think because it wasn’t freshly fried, and it became cold so the sensation is not too obvious.

next, we went to yoshizawa shoten 吉澤商店, which sells beef, they also offer deep fried menchi-katsu, which is minced matsuzaka beef fried in batter, this was quite nice, beef does not have the smelly taste and is so soft and flavorful, and it’s served hot.

we also ate some fresh sea urchin ウニ at one of the seafood stores, there are tons of it around the market area and the price was rather competitive too. the taste for the one we tried was alright.

another famous mus-try snack in tsukiji is tamagoyaki, there are a few stores around as well. i picked yamachou 山長 as it seems to be the most popular one. we bought the stick version, which you can choose between sweet and less-sweet option. the store also sells tamagoyaki in blocks with various options. it was so fluffy and yummy, i truly love tamagoyaki! XD

we took a rest, while walking around the market area, looking at other stores that sells dried seafood, vegetables and stuff.. it was a lively scene. we also wanted to check out some sushi restaurant for lunch, as we wanted to experience seeing sushi making and enjoy some yummy sushi..

after much consideration, we ended up at one of the place i found, shotoku 秀徳, we visited the 2nd branch, as i believe there is more than one restaurant in the area. this restaurant offer 2 lunch options, where you get different sushi based on the price you paid, we picked the cheaper option as we thought that would be enough.

the lunch course has 10 sushi in total - flounder ヒラメ, spanish mackerel lサワラ, sardin シメイワシ, sea bream タイ, tuna マグロ (from ooma 大間), fatty tuna マグロトロ, kohada コハダ, scallop 帆立, ikura and sea urchin イクラとウニ (from hokkaido) and specula tuna temaki マグロ.

the chef greeted us, and chat with us while he prepares each sushi, he’s so skillful and so fun to watch, we sat together with a foreigner couple, so my friend helped to translate the fish names and some conversation, it was really fun. each sushi was made very well, in terms of presentation and taste.. they practically melts in your mouth, no dipping of any sauce is needed.. and each has their unique taste which you can tell easily. the experience was satisfying, not only because the sushi was so delicious, but from the food presentation and the service as well.

we also got lucky, as the chef opens up a high grade fatty tuna マグロトロ from ooma 大間, this is the best tuna you can ever get in japan, as ooma is famous for their tuna. we got to take a photo of it, and the chef told us that we can enjoy this if we return for dinner. hehehe.. the meal was really nice, and i highly recommend this place, even my friend said that this is spectacular with the price that we paid.

after the yummy lunch, we head to teamlab planets tokyo, as i wanted to experience something different, it’s an digital art museum, where you get to experience art in various way including touch, sight, sound, etc. before going in, everyone has to remove their shoes and socks since we will be walking in water areas.. there’s an app which will assist navigation and provide information on each experience, so it is useful to download before entering as well.

my friend and i visited each room at our own pace, it was fun and we get to take many funny photos together and play around. it is more like a playground and photo studio.. in terms of artwork, the presentation was quite limited, so do not expect too much, but i would say the whole immersive experience make this a fun place to be.

after spending lots of energy in teamlabs, we decided to find a place for coffee and just relax, we ended up in ginza because it was convenient for me to head to ueno after, and my friend to head home to get some work done. we found another cozy coffee house,  かづまコーヒー, and enjoyed our coffee and cake together, while just randomly talking.. there’s just so much that we can chat about, we will never get bored of each other, haha..

after coffee, we split up, and i continue my shopping at ameya yokocho アメヤ横丁. before buying stuff, i first need to get my matcha ice cream fix from  茶の君野園, a green tea store just by the market entrance. i bought my ice cream, sat at the store to enjoy, found some nice green tea to buy as souvenirs, which is awesome.

continue my shopping at matsumoto kiyoshi 薬 マツモトキヨシ for beauty products and niki no kashi 二木の菓子 for snacks. i ended up with really a lot of stuff, i’m kinda surprised myself, but this was it, shopping all done~

i met up with my friend and her business partner for shabu shabu dinner at ningyocho imahan 人形町今半, the ueno branch. it was a really nice restaurant, with delicate and friendly service. the beef was marbled so beautifully, and when cooked, it’s so soft and yummy, the sauce they provided was flavorful and you get to pick and mix some condiments to your liking too, it’s really delicious. shabu shabu also includes fresh vegetables and noodles, yum yum~ we also ordered rice, every japanese meal goes perfectly with their fluffy white rice, trust me on that.

after another yummy and satisfying meal, we head back to our friend’s place, and ate the creme brulee cheesecake we bought from fukuoka airport, it goes well with some tea to just chill and chit chat. the night was fun, and i enjoyed the company a lot. appreciate the good dinner and company very much.

Comparisons (Part 2) - In the Woods; ch. 1: Considerations

There were few things that could truly shake Hamato Regina. Her elder sister being asleep for three weeks straight, without waking even when in heat, or to eat or use the toilet, was most certainly at the top of that list. It hadn’t bothered her too much at first, being at August’s family home while they regrouped and collected themselves had helped. It wasn’t until the fourth day of Leandra’s coma that the remaining team members began to really worry. August and Casey had never seen the turtles during the cold winter months. They didn’t know what to think. They barely knew anything about their seasonal changes—that was a blunt and rather sleepy conversation, but the two “humans” needed to know if they were going to be providing for the four reptilians—let alone their more… personal needs when certain times rolled around. They were hardly prepared to handle the turtles that weren’t comatose, even less so for the one that was!

Everyone knew that most of Lea’s recovery would be spent sleeping in the warm water of the tub, that was certain… But no told her she’d be sleeping on the ancient bathroom floor for nearly a month, with only trips down to the kitchen for a quick snack when that time rolled around and some time on the porcelain throne right after. No one told Regina that, while she and her younger sisters sleepily shuffled about at the end of the week, her Fearless Leader would be comatose in a frickin’ bathtub! Even after an hour and a half of shaking and yelling, all the poor turtle did was sleep.

“Hey, Gina.”

The sleepy mutant turned to the washroom door behind her. “Hey, Case.” she mumbled miserably.

Casey was wrapped up in aphgan, holding something that smelled… ooh, yummy…

“Aye,” Regina whined, “gimme some of that, ya’ selfish witch!” With renewed energy, and spite, she jumped to the threshold and snatched the cup of steaming goodness right out of her bestie’s hands, inhaling a delicious puff of her favorite scent: ramen noodles—the beef flavored kind, not the chicken or shrimp crap. The hum she emitted was not unexpected to the human, though the way the brutish turtle was with salty foods was still amusing. Casey merely shook her head, a smile playing on her red lips.

“Anythin’ new?” she asked, coming up behind the blonde.

“No.” Gina stated resentfully. “Leanne hasn’t moved an inch since we got here—least not while I’ve been awake… the cold doesn’t help.” the mutant twirled a forkful of noodles and gazed miserably at the leader while she ate. “I wish she would just wake up already.”

“We all do, Gin.” Casey plopped down beside the tub. “We just gotta try and keep it together, for everyone’s sake.” After a glance at the blonde’s mournful eyes, she added, “Give Lea some time, she’ll wake up when she’s ready.”

“Yeah,” the kunoichi said around a mouthful, “I guess you’re right.”

Casey stayed with her friend until the cup was empty.

“Sorry fer stealin’ your foo…” Regina yawned. “I haven’t had ‘n actual meal in days.”

Casey took the cup and silverware from the green hands with a laugh, saying something along the lines of “no sweat” on her way out, though Regina wasn’t sure if she’d heard correctly.

At the threshold, as her mutant bestie climbed back into her makeshift bed, Casey stopped to consider the teen for a moment—something she found herself doing a lot recently. There was an obvious fire in the reptile’s electric eyes, always burning and always alive. However, the flame seemed more subdued than ever, seemed to be holding on by its little finger.

Every bit of Regina seemed to be dwindling now that she really thought about it. Her thighs, while always a thicker girl, were more squish than muscle; her arms were thinner, softer; her lower plastron bulged with the slightest of pudge. It was sad, to be honest, seeing the ever powerful Hamato Regina so out of shape, knowing how foreign her body must feel. The mutant hated being out of shape.

“Take a pic’ure; lasts lon’er.”

Casey snapped her attention back to those green orbs. They looked softer when it was just the two of them. More inviting…

Before either of them knew it, the vigilante was hovering above her friend, their foreheads thumped together gently. Quiet words of comfort were shared and hands tangled in messy hair as they held each other.

“I love you…”

Casey blushed, though she wasn’t sure why. “Aw… I love ya’ too, Giny.”

“Don’ call me tha’!” Regina growled, shoving away the human.

“Gina, why—!”

“Just don’t!" she snarled, hissing lowly.

Case stood up slowly, wiping the wetness off her cheeks. When had she started crying? It didn’t matter.

“Ya’ know, Regina,” she began, “I get you miss Lea—believe me, I do—but I’m still here! I’m at least trying!"

“Casey,” the turtle gaped, “I—”

"No!" the other exclaimed. “You need to make up your mind, Regina!” Casey turned, heading toward the door. “You need to make a choice.”
