You didn’t want to make it about yourself.

You really didn’t want to take Mariya’s decision, her happiness, and taint it with your feelings.

But when she not only admitted that, but confirmed she planned to keep the baby, it’s like all you were tightly holding onto suddenly escaped your grasp, quickly coming undone, her words sharply stabbing your heart over and over again, deeper each time, as the loneliness of your future reality began to settle in your mind.

Mariya is leaving.

And the thought of it hurt you so, so much, you could only allow the one thing you didn’t want to happen, and make it about yourself.

“Y/N!” she cries upon seeing the sorrowful manner in which you shut your eyes, lips trembling before gasping and finally sobbing. Mariya closes the gap between the two, intending to comfort you.

“I’m not—I’m very happy, I really am—” but you stop her, shaking your head and nimbly wiping the tears away from your cheeks, yet unable to move past the overwhelming sorrow of her imminent departure. “But I—I—I can’t believe you’re leaving!”

Mariya’s heart squeezes with sadness, instinctively taking you into her arms as she states the one thing she supposed would make you happy, only to be disappointedly ineffective, because even if your heart desired her to say— 

“I’m sorry, Y/N. I—I’ll see what I can do, I don’t care what Meiko says—”

You still wanted her happiness.

“No, Mariya—” you gasp, shaking your head against her embrace, tears soaking your cheeks once more. “I can’t do that to you!”

Because who were you to revoke her decision? One that you now saw for what it was, past the initial shock and sadness, settled in the glint of her eye: Mariya’s excitement for sharing this wonderful news with you, looking forward to her new future… and the family she’s forming with her loved one.

“... I won’t act like this wasn’t unexpected, unplanned, it really just… happened.” Mariya begins, hoping that by her words you’ll find a sense of comfort or understanding—while disclosing what she truly felt when the verdict came down on her. “But if you think about it, do these things ever get planned?”

She chuckles, and you smile, even though you couldn’t neither agree nor deny her words—yet, you still supposed that for those that wanted a family, whenever it happened was perfect timing.

Ok, so i know that we already established that hellspawn hates harumi with a burning passion. But i need more than that.

How is their dynamic?

Does harumi still tries to "connect" with her only for her to retort with an impressive amount of sass for a 4yo? Does she think of how when all of this is over she will bash that brat's head into a wall?

Does hellspawn cling to her daddy's leg and give her death glares in every possible situations? Does she try to prevent any "romantic" moment/chemistry between the two?

And after harumi is revealed and the ritual "failed" is she going "I told you so" to literally everyone? Does she try to comfort lloyd saying stuff like; "you can't be sad because of her daddy thats what she want" or "there are far better possible mommies out there" or maybe even "im pretty sure she snores in her sleep anyway"

And lastly will there ever be a situation (maybe in s16?) That suddenly golden blond hair becomes long platinum braids, eye color becomes one she saw in the mirror every day, and even the scared look on her face became suddenly painfully familiar as harumi watched for mere few seconds as the green ninja's daughter image was replaced with her younger self

I have to say...that this is by far, my favorite ask from you.

I think Harumi would still try to connect with her, even though their dynamic is initially , 'seemingly nice princess tries every possible way to make a wary child as comfortable as possible in her presence' — I'm saving most of the sass for s16, when hellspawn's only sees this woman as a psycho.

But for s8, (at first) it's more like she's clinging to Lloyd's leg looking visibly uncomfortable. She knows that something is off, but she can't tell what. The ninja don't see anything wrong, and neither does Lloyd. Maybe she's shy. Or maybe the princess' makeup is scary. That's probably why she's acting like this.

Then in Dead Man's Squall, we get to see the death glares thing, which Lloyd reprimands her for when they're alone. The other ninja think it's cute because it just looks like she's jealous of the attention the princess is getting. And when Lloyd tries to stand beside Harumi in the control room, hellspawn reaches for his hand. She doesn't like it when her father and the Harumi are alone in the same room and FSM does something feel off.

But fortunately, after Dread on Arrival, Lloyd finally apologizes to her for dismissing her suspicions. We get to see some father-daughter comfort after that but it's mostly hellspawn doing the comforting because her dad just got himself some trust issues and a broken heart.

YOUR MIND. OH DAMN, WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT

To answer that one, there should be. I hate Harumi's redemption arc in crystalized but it would be nice to see this lol — especially because, now that I think of it, hellspawn does look a lot like Harumi. Even though this woman's prepared to make this girl's dad's life a living hell and throttle his midget, I can see this happening. Maybe these two could get into a situation where Harumi has to choose whether to save this child or let her die. Or maybe the Overlord needs her for something — she was created with Lloyd's Golden Power, you know. Gosh, I love this. Thanks for the idea!

Yes, it's true. I, who go by "giannic" (Gianni C), am the very same "Yahyia" on YouTube. Also, years ago I was cafégroundzer0 on Allpoetry.com & a few other social media sites (1997 - 2016).

I am John Creighton. I was born in 1961 to a Mexican immigrant & an Anglo-American news editor & publisher in a small Midwestern college town.

Even before 1996, I chose cafégroundzer0, because my dream was to have a chill spot to operate a café, & since we were college students (at Knox College). Growing up during The Cold War, I would have preferred that rather than suffer in a post-apocalyptic radioactive environment, that it take place in a major urban area targeted directly in the event of a strike by one of America's nuclear enemies. I never dreamed that what happened in NYC, the Pentagon, & the skies over Pennsylvania, would actually occur.

I have never realised that youthful fantasy. The closest I came to it was opening up a portable stand at a rally (1984) against investing in South Africa, because of their policy of apartheid. (to be continued)...
