at last....yakumo with CHIKEN

#i have finally achieved Goal. i drew yakumo with a happy chickcen #legitimately there were several moments of me redrawing yakumo's eyes and yelling #nO! THEY'RE NOT UWU ENOUGH (makes the irises bigger) WAIT . TOO UWU (makes irises more oblong) #WAIT!! NOT MONSTROUS ENOUGH (narrows the pupils) SHOULD NOT HAVE MORE EYELINER THAN FOXY GRANDPA (shrinks the lashes) #did u know that chickens like to sleep on tall things? the higher they are the safer they feel? (according to my cursory internet search) #so i imagine when yakumo finally grew taller than the chickens' roosting spots #some of them started just napping on yakumo any time he came to clean the coop #and he'd be so scared of waking them up that he'd try to do his chores in the tiniest movements ever #several hours later grandma checks in on him bc hmmm! he's taking longer than usual! #sees him covered in birds+bird poop and he's aaaallllmost done cleaning with his restrained broom sweeps #(birds don't stop pooping just cuz they're sleeping u see. how productive) #that's a cue for grandparents to move the roosts higher . bc yakumo doesn't have the heart to shoo the birds off him #he needs to get things done! becoming impromptu bird bed for 3 hours a day is not sustainable! #it's all for the good of chiken anyway. happy chicken happy life #yakumo

i also think by fridging tante heleen they took a lot away from inej’s personal journey, the manipulation and abuse she experienced, the horror of being caught back in those fake silks, the triumph stealing the jewel right off her neck, all these things inej worked through herself and did for herself in the books become something solely for kaz to save her from, and sure he’s always played a part in her freedom but those steps were really important for inej to work through her trauma originally. consolidating inej’s trauma from heleen/the menagerie and his own into the one villain who was already always his to vanquish was such a bad move

can we talk about how perfectly this season’s finale explores the emotional fall out of last season’s though??

just because morty’s fear is rick not caring enough about him to protect him or give him affection doesn’t necessarily make it true. I think there’s enough instances in the show at this point to demonstrate that rick actually does care enough about morty to do these things when push comes to shove — hell in the episode itself rick beginning to hug morty back does in fact happen in real life even if morty stops him.

but here’s the thing, after the short period where morty actually did feel cared for by rick, where rick protected him and listened to him and gave him affection (and very specifically gave him hugs) only for it to be revealed that rick was actually a fucking robot the whole time, of course morty’s afraid he’d never do any of that shit in real life. of course morty is inherently distrustful and disbelieving of rick being affectionate towards him. the last time he was it was literally all a lie born out of rick not wanting to deal with him.

that whole robot thing was way more traumatic than morty ever let on but he pushed it down to help rick with finding and killing rick prime. and now that they’ve done that all that unresolved trauma has spilled out.

I still don't understand how they plan to make the count form a contract with mikuni. As far as we know the only thing the count wants is to be one with kuro. Why should he care about what lily or mikuni want for the world? He hasn't cared about what people wanted before, half the servamps resented him for turning them into vampires. Just because tsubaki promised it? If the count is back tsubaki did what he was tasked to do and even without an eve the count would probably be strong enough to simply not comply to their wishes/agreements.

I kinda doubt the count is overly interested in being mikuni's tool.

and yet both had lost their home (and continent in the case of anna croft) and they didn't truly achieve their goals despite being prophet and apostle/architect, but have made a new one, a new life, with the people they love in the current world that exists
