He nods, just once. "Friend... perhaps that is the word."
She lets silence reign. Lets it soak them all to the bone.
"Do you have a friend?" Warlock asks her. He says the word with such reverence, such pride.
Her gaze is fixed upon the dying embers in front of them. "I have no need of a friend."

The cover to Warlock (vol. 1) #9 (October, 1975) by Jim Starlin and Steve Leiahoha.
This was Warlock’s second solo book, picking up the numbering from his original book which had been cancelled mid-story in 1973 (and was later concluded in The Incredible Hulk #176, wherein Warlock died for the first of many times).
This book continues the Magus saga, which had started during Warlock’s run in Strange Tales (vol 1) #178-181.
