Okay I finished the j///min solo mv and call me crazy but I feel like it's trying to do what taemin's ngda trilogy (IM COUNTING ADVICE) did with the focus being on the self, the hands, the orchestral sound though that was in idea version at an award show and something else I think. I'm definitely reaching though lmao. I think it's bc I've seen both artists compared many times before so now that jmin has a solo coming out I was curious to see his sound. And its.. definitely what I'd expect from his company so meh

scale wise i think they're trying to ape gasoline more than they are ngda, but i do agree that this track is very much an advice ripoff, right down to the colour palette and grading. plus the whole 'destroyed' torso + purposeful tattoo reveal it's very........well. nothing about it has any interesting artistic statement or interpretation, it's just stealing an idea from a well established artist and recycling it into hybe's typical bland aesthetic. it's trying to be messy and ugly like advice is but they weren't willing to actually go all the way to MAKE it messy and ugly. which is pretty telling about the artistic ability of jimin, because jhope proved three times over that hybe can make ugly shit with artistic purpose. i didn't really have high expectations in the first place bc i've always thought that jimin had no creative drive or ability but it is disappointing that this all seems to be a hodgepodge of stolen ideas. i thought they would have tried to do something better but i shouldn't have even expected that.

stab in the dark but people with chromesthesia is your association of colours etc with sound linked to visual accompaniment like if you hear a song and the mv was colour graded a specific way the colours will automatically be in the song for you too or is it random

#to me it's half half i would say but leaning closer to random #like the rock with you mv was red coded and the song is in parts red to me #but then with advice it was so strong visually but to me it's always been violet .... violet and green #which are infamously NOT in any visual component of that song #and i was watching my neighbor totoro yesterday and the ost is very green to me but of course so is the film #meanwhile other ghibli stuff is less heavy on the green ....
