Man of words
#s16 spoilers#iasip#it's always sunny in philadelphia#always sunny#macdennis#analysis#parallels#I didn't exactly know how to name this thread but i had some scattered thoughts on it#dennis is the one mac depends on to define things. he's the man of words. but this situation is very limiting#firstly because mac can't read subtext. and dennis will rarely be open in his words. but he also doesn't know everything.#cant define everything. and by forcing the situation to have dennis speak for both. what actually happens is mac gets silenced#and when mac cant speak. no one besides dennis can ever possibly understand him. and that is very isolating. because den wont be open. cant#but they trust each other. theyre following each other's lead. and they're missing the right words#den defines his own self worth in the relationship by being able to have the right words. mac is the man of action! after all#but if mac learns to speak for himself. if mac doesn't depend on den (chokes). if mac is noticed for his appearance as den becomes insecure#(''what if my shirt falls off?'') what does den have left for mac? but mac will fall for him no matter what.#''make up or not you are the golden god! it's all about what's in here💗''#maybe words arent necessary anymore. dont ask just do. and mac's the man of action... OR IS HE.#mac doesn't really act now does he. they got it backwards. don't they? mac got a lot better with his words in time...#idk lots to think about let me know what u think lolll#threads

Going to say this now even though I barely post here::::: Adaptations are never meant to be a 1:1 recreation of the original source material. The goal is never to recreate the exact same experience in a different format, the whole point of remaking something in a different format is to make something new.
I don’t understand why people are out here acting like the new Netflix ATLA walked onscreen, shot the original with a 44 and declared itself the new ATLA. I’m not saying you can’t criticise anything about it or any other adaptation, I just think a lot of people need to remember that an adaptation that gives you the same experience and explores the exact same themes and doesn’t elaborate on or look at things in different angles would be utterly pointless.

love it when a character that's hard to read intuitively for you has like a dedicated fandom interpreter who can just glance at their blank face in a panel and then give you a 3k word essay on their innermost thoughts & desires & fears and neatly tie it back into the themes & whatnot as if it's the most obvious thing in the world
#im talking about griffith btw#guts i feel i get intuitively - maybe because i have some personality traits in common with him#and we get more about his life concretely told to us in canon. so he is a bit easier to pin down as a character and feel attached to for me#but whenever i was reading the manga i just kept wanting more insight about griffith's actions and feelings#like ok yeah its fun to have mysterious antagonists and suspense /tension etc but its also fun to feel like you deeply understand them too#and i felt like that was a bit missing from him for me in canon#so reading about him in analysis and fics is the most fun for me rn#he always felt kinda half unreal to me- which maybe was the point of him - but i wanted a bit more about his childhood or something?#and wished we had more stuff explicitly from his pov in the story to read or explanation about his transformation or wtv#and now he's so much more closed off to me even than he was in the golden age. i keep waiting for him to explain stuff and he does not#ANYWAYS all this rambling to say some people out there are very good at interpreting him and making his like. insecurities#more obvious to me bc i didnt really get that side of him from canon intuitively well#also im really enjoying reading the first few berserk fics ive read#there may not be a ton of them out there but there is def writing talent in the fandom#i'll share some recs once i'm done sifting through most of what's out there to read#also (not to tie everything back to death note but it IS my home fandom after all)#i feel griffith is obvs the more light-like character here and L maybe a bit guts-like? but unlike berserk in death note#light is the one you get to know best and L is the mysterious / unreal one you don't get a lot of concrete insight into#and in the DN fandom I can read the more mysterious character intuitively but had to warm up to the less mysterious one instead#and the mystery of L makes sense to me and doesnt bug me as much due to like - he HAS to hide a lot about himself or else he will die lol#so some similarities there but also some opposite feels as well#berserk spoilers#p

i'm sure it's been said but i do love how trimax handles wolfwoods death. i've seen so many stories that have characters die and they just go away after. i'm really used to stories where the other characters aren't allowed to grieve, the story keeps going and it feels like the other characters aren't really affected or get over it really easily. but in trimax wolfwoods death is so important. we see other characters grieving him. vash protecting the orphanage, expanding his power when he really shouldn't, because it was wolfwood's home, even though wolfwood is already gone. he gets an actual burial. vash and livio eating their way through the grief, which is more comedic but still shows us how important he was to the two of them, sets up how in many ways they're fighting in his memory.
even after he's gone he's still present in the story in such a strong way. we can see how he's affected the other characters, even when they don't explicitly mention him it's obvious that they're thinking about him. what he did when he was alive, and his death itself, are so important to the story even after he's not there. not just in a really abstract "this is someone we lost" way (though there are a lot of times his death and sacrifice motivate vash and livio to fight harder!) he's present in the finale in a material way to livio, who uses his serums to help fight against elendira, which ofc also ties into the way wolfwoods choice to ally with vash and fight against knives gave livio strength to do the same. wolfwood showed him that there are things worth fighting for, things worth protecting. that your body is a weapon, but you can choose what to do with it, use it for something meaningful.
and the way vash kills legato in order to save livio? vash outright says that he did it to protect what wolfwood fought for, sacrificed his life for. it's tied to the ongoing arc between vash and wolfwood, their conflict over the necessity of killing others. wolfwood pushed vash into having an understanding of his views when he was alive, demonstrating the necessity of that violence. simultaneously, vash inspired wolfwood to follow his path, a kinder one. vash remembers what wolfwood said to him, and his death gives those words added poignancy. wolfwood well and truly sacrificed everything to protect what he loved and fight for what he believed in. how can vash let that go to waste? he sacrifices something just as meaningful to himself, and he pulls the trigger. it brings him closer to wolfwood in a way he never was before. he understands now, fundamentally, what motivates people, motivated wolfwood, to act as he did when he took lives. there are so many other ways wolfwood is present in the story after his death i can't talk about all of them but it makes me so crazy
#trigun#trigun maximum#nicholas d. wolfwood#not to say that there aren't lots of stories that handle character death well bc there are!#i am by no means an expert in media but in my experience esp with like#action anime in particular it can be p common for important characters to die and then their death is just not processed at all#i know that stories have to keep things moving but it feels so weird when characters don't grieve or even cry at least a little!#like that was a person that you knew! are you not affected in any way!#it can feel so dehumanizing to me imo when characters bounce back so quickly after someone they knew died like c'mon#at least to me anyways#that's why i love the scene where vash cries after ww dies in 98 too. maybe i just don't consume enough media where characters die#but i was really surprised that they included that! surprised and pleased. it felt like such a human thing for him to do#to try and pretend everything is ok but he just can't ignore the fact that ww is dead and it just hits him#right there in the street in the middle of the day. and there's not anything he can do but cry. ugh#.lieii#trigun analysis#trigun livio#vash the stampede#trigun meta#.lieii txt#honestly i haven't read the finale arc in a while so i don't want to talk too in depth about it#but it is really excellent how present he is. without being present#talking about trimax is so hard bc there's so much. so many themes#me when a story has themes: GRAAH#like every post i make this is rambling and doesn't have much of a point but do you get what i'm saying#come to collieii hq where you get an essay in the post and another much worse essay in the tags#trimax spoilers

Vanellope VS. Turbo: A Mini Analysis!
Tumblr media
There are a million reasons why Turbo’s reveal in Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph is such an iconic and memorable scene. A scene that I and many others have replayed ever since 2012 and its impact has never left our minds. It solidified King Candy/Turbo as one of Disney's top villains ever created, surprising and shocking viewers with a plot twist that Disney hasn’t been able to overthrow with their other movies before they abandoned villains until King Magnifico but he sucks so. He WISHES he was as charismatic as King Candy plz-
But this analysis isn’t just about King Candy/Turbo, it’s also about Vanellope Von Schweetz. She’s the most important ingredient to making this scene work and play out the way it does and ultimately why it’s so fucking cathartic. ( More so than Ralph’s fight against Cy-Bug Turbo in my opinion) After watching how it was originally story boarded, the crew behind WiR perfected this scene with a specific detail that they changed. In the early storyboard, Vanellope causes King Candy’s vehicle to crash, causing him to glitch and transform into Turbo in front of the cameras. While I love love love the extended race between Vanellope and King Candy and sort of wished it could have been longer in the actual film, I am content that they didn’t go with the direction. In the movie, King Candy is revealed after trying to beat/kill Vanellope with his horn rod/pole thingy from his kart, she grabs it and glitches due to stress/adrenaline/her emotions, her blue glitch traveling through the cane and making contact with King Candy, finally putting down the facade he had on for 15 years and revealing him as Turbo to the characters in the film and the audience. It’s such a small detail, it only happens in a second, but it’s all it took for the start of his downfall and his eventual demise.
Tumblr media
And this is why it brings me catharsis every time I watch this scene. I could never put it into words before, but it’s beyond satisfying that the end of King Candy’s horrible reign starts with Vanellope and her glitch. The very same glitch that he caused trying to delete her code and remove her place from the game. The glitch that he used as an excuse to turn everyone in Sugar Rush against her. He usurped her throne and tried to ruin her life. Despite this, he still had the audacity to shout “Get off of MY track!” earlier. It brings his Roadblasters incident back up, it was his choice, trying to steal the thunder of another racing game that just got plugged in because he couldn’t stand the idea of anyone taking his place, only for Turbo Time and Roadblasters to be unplugged. All of this circling back and biting him in the ass. Vanellope was the key all along and he knew it, he feared her despite never really having a conversation with her as far as we know (Vanellope asking Turbo “What the-?! Who are you!?” leads me to believe that if they did converse in the past, it was not in his true form and he was most likely already King Candy. Plus it just goes to show how fast he hijacked Sugar Rush), but you can just tell by how desperate he was to keep her from racing, he didn’t want anyone to take his place ever again.
So the scene continues and his famous line and breakdown goes as this: “I’m Turbo! The greatest racer ever! And I did not reprogram this world to let YOU and that halitosis riddled warthog TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME!” It’s just so ironic, unfair and hypocritical of him it makes my blood boil! And the way he’s raising his voice, jabbing his finger at her and Vanellope’s trying to shrink away from him as he yells at her face before he tries to murder her I just- So cruel, scary, wicked and disturbing! But Vanellope, this brave WARRIOR, is reminded of her glitch after Turbo calls her for what he believes is the last time. “End of the line, Glitch!” She takes a moment, everything slows down around her as she tries to control her glitch to escape Turbo. She glitches away, missing the wall and It ends up saving her life! I just cannot stress enough how beautiful that is! She used her disability, that everyone thought would simply doom her and the game, and embraced it when she needed it most. Her glitch, while it was suddenly given to her by circumstances she couldn’t control or prevent, she took control back. It’s her beautiful superpower and it’s empowering. After this scene, it’s the “end” of Turbo before he gets nom’d by a Cy-Bug. ( I want to note that he later says “I’m the most powerful VIRUS in the arcade”, part of me wants to believe he said that because clearly Vanellope bested him as the greatest racer ever but I doubt that was their intention lol)
They’re the embodiment of Selfishness vs. Selflessness. While Vanellope had everything taken away from her, she didn’t follow the same path as him. Turbo had everything taken from him, but it was his fault and he only ever thought about himself, never about the destruction he left behind. Hell, all she ever wanted was to be one of the racers, no matter how much they bullied her and ostracized her, she never ended up being evil like him even though it would be a perfect recipe to become a villain, this is also what makes her a mirror to Ralph.  (Remember in that one deleted scene where she said she wanted to break the racers’ legs but come on can you blame her!?!?! She was so real for saying that.) VANELLOPE IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER EVER AAAA.
Before I ramble any further, I will forever love the choices that the writers made for the climax and it just ends up being an absolutely perfect and brilliant scene and I will continue to rewatch for the millionth time.

And with kindness leads to greatness
Patroclus is a kind man, written in between his words of doubt and low self esteem. The way he treats women he encounters with care and empathy speaks volumes then the words he utters.
His mother, everly so writtenly as meek and homely seemed to shine in his eyes as the sandy beaches of his home. As though, supposedly to dispise her from his father's lament. He remembers her simpleness like the warmth of the fading sky. Drifting and disappearing. But as the strings of her lyre, she is there only existing.
When Deidameia got pregnant with Achilles and learned that he will never ever love her, she was angry, disappointed and thrown away. She was promised of the boy and so she gave. And out of sheer destruction of a heart break, she agonizingly seeked comfort from Patroclus and demanded to lay with her so she could even by a small margin feel the soul of Achilles mending her broken heart. Cause as Patroclus quoted he is half of Achilles soul.
She's a victim in all of this as much as she tries to stand between the two lovers. And Patroclus understands this. Bedding her too but out of sympathy and kindness that she wanted to feel.
He was so human that when Briseis was turned into a prize of war, he urged his lover to take her and save her from being soiled by Agamemnon. He befriended her, clothed her, and taught her the way of the greeks. And as more prizes come, if by means possible, he wished for Achilles to take them from the humiliation to come.
In return for his selflessness, he was loved by the girl. Even offering him a child she could bare, knowing full well that she wont be the apple of his eye. But Patroclus could not dirty her like that. He knew she deserved better.
Thetis, on the other hand, had loathed him since the beginning. Yet she unknowingly seeked comfort from his memories of her lost child. Never to truly knowing the boy she had given birth to but only from the words of his lover. Patroclus was at her mercy, begging to reunite with his lover and yet instead of hating her even until death, he sang her Achilles' song.
And with the last hymns of his memory, she obliged writing his name beside her child's. The only motherly thing she had ever done.
Patroclus was the best of the Myrmidons for his sheer kindness alone. The cowardice that was bestowed by his true father was a lie but the name 'Patroclus' that meant glory of the father was true. Chiron is proud of his child. He honored him, using the knowledge he had bestowed and saved dozens of lives of hardened greek soldiers. Memorizing their names and each of their stories like his father did. Although, unlike them, he did not fight with swords and spears, he fought with his empathy in hand.
And the boy he had accidentally killed as a prince? It was not an act of cowardice of his confession, it was atonement. Acceptance of what he had done. Unlike those other kings and princes, he took the punishment as one should supposed to.
And that is why Achilles loved him. And that's why Achilles died when he did. Because he is the mortal half of his supposed to be godhood.
He is his other half, as the poet say.

as someone who's been thinking ab garp for over a year the OPLA is such a moment of vindication fr like?? first off, incredible casting, but also just the whole.        how duties as a marine conflicts with morals but that it’s worth following your own code of justice        and his love and fear for his family that stems a lot from having Some kind of relationship with Roger      like?? Was genuinely surprised when they outright said that Garp wanted Luffy to stop because he reminded him so much of Roger but like Yeah and just—

it can be annoying when a creator successfully writes complex, emotionally realistic characters in mediums or genres that don't traditionally have complex, emotionally realistic characters, because the fandom is frequently very black-and-white about their views on a character - not even necessarily because the fans are malicious or thinking uncritically, but just because they're not expecting the medium/genre to have such emotionally complex writing and are unused to approaching it in a critical manner. which is how you get webtoons comment sections insisting that a character who's in the middle of a messy character arc needs to be dumped/jailed/publicly humiliated or youtubers complaining about intentionally flawed characters like they need to be completely rewritten to be a "good character" instead of *gasp* flawed

Happy Birthday Hino Rei!
I rarely work ahead enough to do any celebratory illustration, and I only memorized Rei, Minako and Usagi's birthdays somehow in my time loving PGSM. lol But working on all the PGSM 20th anniversary posts back in October 2023, and resuming fanfic writing really rekindled how much I love the grumpy lesbian that the live-action gave us.
Going on the themes of PGSM appreciation for the 20th anniversary, I thought I'd compile a list of my fave/memorable character analyses I've done on Rei in my liveblog sessions so far. (I don't want to just reblog them coz then I'm just spamming followers. lol)
Just Rei being Rei
Act 3: Rei intro
Act 4: Rei and Ami
Act 5: Rei with Usagi and how that impacts Ami
Act 6: Usagi says Rei's the person to go to when in trouble
Act 7: Rei and the weird turtle guy
Act 8: Rei vs Makoto (and this, and this, and this, AND THIS... Act 8 was a gold mine on Rei and Makoto both.)
Act 11: Rei being done with Usagi and Makoto (Part 2)
Act 18: Mars and Venus's argument
Act 18: Rei and Minako's one-up attempts
Act 18: Mars being badass and Venus's minder
Act 18: Mars and Venus fighting together
Act 19: Rei brooding, while being smart and astute
Act 19: Rei & Luna discussion
Protective and empathetic Rei:
Act 5: Rei and Usagi's talk re Ami
Act 10: Rei and Usagi
Act 15: Rei and Ami, and then again at the end of the ep
Act 16: Mars and Mercury (part 2 here)
Act 17: Rei and Minako
Act 17: Mars and Venus
Act 18: Mars saving Venus
Act 18: Mars confronts Venus, claiming she's Venus's protector
Act 19: Rei worried about Minako
My liveblogging of PGSM rewatch is paused on Act 19. So hopefully I can add to this list in the future. (If I remember.)

It is difficult to argue that [Edward IV] was wrong in what he did. His advancement of [Richard of Gloucester] can be criticized only by those who believe that the only good nobleman is an impotent nobleman. Medieval kings did not think in these terms. Gloucester’s power was valuable because it ensured royal control of a significant and troublesome part of the country. Nor can Edward be blamed for not foreseeing the ends to which Gloucester might put his power. The duke had been a loyal upholder of the house of York, a central figure in Edward’s polity*; there was no obvious reason why he should not occupy the same role under Edward V. In this respect, precedent was on Edward’s side. Previous minorities had seen squabbles over the distribution of power, but no young king had ever been deposed. Even royal uncles traditionally drew a line at that, something which explains why Gloucester’s actions seemed so shocking to contemporaries and, perhaps, the reason why he got away with it so easily in the short term.
In the immediate sense, Gloucester must take final responsibility for what happened in 1483. However one explains the motives behind his actions, things happened because he chose that they should: there is nothing in the previous reign which compelled him to act as he did.
-Rosemary Horrox, "Richard III: A Study of Service"
*Richard was also, yk, Edward's own brother who had been entirely loyal during his life. The problem wasn’t that Edward trusted Richard, the problem is that Richard broke that trust in a horrible and unprecedented way to usurp a 12-year-old. Please understand the difference.
#wars of the roses#edward iv#richard iii#edward v#my post#The arguments of Ross and Pollard (et al) are so profoundly unserious and ahistorical#casting an unforeseeable turn of events as a predictable ('structural') one as David Horspool rightly puts it#Ross specifically is entirely dependent on his own horrible view of Elizabeth Woodville and her family as the basis of his analysis#but anyway. as Horrox points out later in the book:#''although earlier events [during Edward's reign] cannot be said to have caused the crisis they did have some bearing in how it developed'#namely Edward's legacy of forfeitures in the 1460s; manipulation of property descents; and fluctuating royal favour.#the most prominent and politically important of all of these were the manipulation of the Mowbray and Howard family fortunes#This is often used to enhance the unserious and ahistorical arguments of historians like Ross and Pollard that Edward doomed his son#But as Horrox points out: Edward's reign did not exist in a vacuum and needs to be analyzed by actual historical context.#from a broader perspective his actions were not especially transgressive as far as English kings were concerned#NO MONARCH (Edward III; Henry VII; etc) died with every single one of their nobles 100% content and supportive#they weren't living in Disney movies and there's no point holding Edward IV to fairytale standards that did not exist.#More importantly Horrox points out that Edward's actions (eg: the Mowbray and Howard cases) need to be put into actual perspective#They were not perceived as problems and did not cause problems during his own reign.#They did not cause problems after he died before Edward V arrived in London.#They only became problems after Richard decided to seize power and deliberately exploited them as bribes for political support#Had Richard decided to support his nephew or work with the Woodvilles - Edward's actions (@ the Mowbrays and Howards) would be irrelevant#(It's also worth pointing out that we don't know WHEN Richard decided to usurp. It if it was a more gradual desire then his depowering#of the Woodvilles by exploiting Mowbray & Howard discontent would not have not affected *Edward V's* ascension or prospects)#ie: the problem isn't that discontent existed with a few specific nobles (that was normal) the problem was how Richard took advantage of it#In theory this sort of thing would have been a potential threat for ANY heir to the throne whether they were a minor or an adult#In itself it's not really unique to Edward and it's silly when historians criticize him and him alone for it. It was more or less standard.#(if anything the fact that he was able to do them so successfully is an indication of his authority)#We come back to Horspool's point: 'Without one overriding factor' - Richard's initiative and actions - 'none of this could have happened.'#which is where this analysis of Horrox's comes in :)

Okay, but I'm still not over how well that scene was played out for Neo when she broke and realized she didnt have anything else after this. That empty, hollow feeling after finally getting what she thought she wanted, only to realize, that it didnt actually help anything. And Roman's words are what stick to me with all of this.
"This cant be all you wanted, is it?"
Because up to that point, that was all Neo wanted. She lost Roman, the one person she cared about and cared about her, and she wanted to avenge him. She became so grief stricken that she started hunting down Cinder, only to have her anger and grief pointed towards Ruby instead.
And I'll be disappointed if this is the end of her story.
Dont get me wrong, not a huge fan of Neo, but I'm a huge fan of watching broken characters start to heal and get better. A fan of watching someone who was abused and lashing out because they dont know any better to be given a chance to find out that there's more out there for them and a better way to live. That getting revenge on those you think wronged you, wont make anything better. It doesnt bring back the person you lost, wont make anything better and will make you hollow and empty.
Maybe Jaune can be the one to help free Neo, pushing aura into her to help her find her sense of self. Its not going to fix anything she's done, but it'll give her a chance to survive and a chance to start correcting her path. A chance for someone to listen to her. A chance she never had.

People keep talking about Bones doing Stormbringer as a movie or at the start of the inevitable upcoming season 5. And while I can see that argument (and I heard something about stormbringer being hinted at in the OP), I think it would be very funny if Bones did Beast instead.
Just imagine the fandom rage if Bones veers out of 5 episodes of Chuuya backstory for the Odazai love letter.

despite the best efforts of tumblr's advertising team, i watched a bit of the new one piece show w my brother, and. holy fuck i love it. i never got into the manga or anime bc it was too much for me to get into - the manga and anime were so long and involved. i love detective conan even though its so long bc its broken up into way more manageable chunks through the 4ish-chapter murder mystery format, but one piece is a much longer continuous story.
i also just. didn't love the art style?? i'm not a huge fan of oda's style of character design (to each their own!). i dont love the fairy tail art style for much the same reasons, including how cookie cutter sexy so many of the women are and the sort of transphobia and/or fatphobia underlying a couple specific character designs. this is obv a critique made with very little knowledge of either source material, but it was enough of an irk going in for me that it prevented me from getting into either show.
the live action one piece, though, is a much better entry point for the series for me, because i don't feel overwhelmed with the sheer amount of content. it also solved my personal issues with the aesthetics of the show by grounding all the character designs in reality a little more. im a huge fan of the casting in this show, especially because it seems to me like they're taking deliberate steps to rework those iffy character decisions. there are a couple other bts things i noticed, like a large amount of physical set pieces, that are only unique to me bc im used to the marvel movie "everything is a soundstage" mentality but makes the whole world more real to me in a way i think i needed for this show.
i don't watch a lot of live action shows, especially anime adaptations, but this one is clearly made with a ton of passion and it's a great introduction to this longrunning and clearly beloved series for anyone who may never have otherwise given one piece a chance. i really hope it gets another season (or two, or three-) and i really recommend it!

(Spoilers for S1 and maybe a little of S2 of Star Wars The Bad Batch)
GOD the song "Nothing's Fair in Love and War" by Three Days Grace makes me think of Crosshair SO MUCH
(I really reccommend giving it a listen and then coming back, or listening to it while reading, but if not that's okay too!)
Every time I listen to it I think of Crosshair post-order 66 and his complicated feelings/relationships with the rest of his batch.
Take a look at this excerpt for example:
I always shoot first, never ask questions. Never think of consequences. I didn't feel a thing, I didn't feel a thing. I never think twice, no intentions. Never feel the consequences. Until it starts to sting, until it starts to sting,
This embodies him in the beginning of TBB, how the chip infects his actions and how it leads to the "shoot first, ask questions later" ordeal. How it leads him down the path towards the very deep character he has by the end of S2.
Then, the second part of the verse makes me think of him later within season 1 and season 2. His brothers, to him, betrayed him and left him behind. Then at the part where Cross saves Omega only to see the wedge driven between him and the rest of the batch, is so much more impactful to me.
The sting of everything he's done up to that point appears here at full force, and then carries over into his actions in S2. Maybe some of it is even seen during the whole thing with Mayday.
Then, there's this:
I never back down, always in crisis. Left to my own devices. You never meant a thing, you never meant a thing.
Here, I see him after Kamino, and during the beginning sections of Season 2. Like, fuck, thinking of his "unyielding" nature here I could totally fucking picture this being his mindset.
Never backing down from his opinions, from his thoughts on the empire, and the fact that he is in constant mental crisis because of the betrayal he felt but also his separation from his brothers- it is so fucking painful but that also makes things more interesting.
Trying to convince himself that he's doing the right thing, that his brother's are in the wrong, and that they are against him at every turn. (Thinking again of the scene where he pulls Omega out of the water and sees his brother's guns aimed at him oof)
It shows the facets of his complex character that make him Crosshair, and I will always think of this song when I think of Crosshair's excellently written character.
It's why I love him as much as I do. It's tragic, complex, and feels so damn human to me that I can't help but awe at who he is. It's messy, and confusing, but that's why it's so great.
Can't wait to see what S3 has in store for him and the rest of the batch.
(P.S. I love looking at songs through the lens of certain characters. If someone else has something like this PLEASE LET ME KNOW- reading character analysis like these gives me LIFE. Songs help me translate characters motivations, words, and personalities into words. Seeing other people do the same makes me very happy)
