Rodolfo would somewhat vibe with your music. Whenever he’s especially pissed, he likes to listen to some aggressive music, like metal or some hard rock, to let out some of the anger. It doesn’t help in calming him down, but he feels better afterwards anyway. Outside of that, Alejandro sometimes listens to some classic bands, like AC/DC, The Rolling Stones or W.A.S.P. Aside from that, neither of them really listen to any of your music. It’s good to vibe to, has a great tune, but they usually leave some pop music on in the background, something they can just have on and ignore for the most part. Alejandro does like some classic Mexican music as well, though. So, neither of them would be too familiar with what you’re listening to. However, they think it’s really cool that you can enjoy such rough and fast paced music, many people shy away from it, after all. You could probably somewhat get them into it if you start out with either the classical songs or just some more mellow ones that aren’t too rough just yet. They love your little vest, though, since it looks awesome and really shows your dedication to those bands you like or have seen. If you slowly introduce them to your music, then you can slowly get them to have a vest of their own as well. It won’t be as magnificent as yours is, but they’ll try to add some patches of bands they’ve seen with you, which they liked. It’d be a small incentive for them to go to a concert with you, if they have the time.

You’d actually have an easier time dragging Rodolfo along than Alejandro. Don’t get me wrong, neither of them really mind going to concerts with you, but Rodolfo has found some bands he likes already. Because many of the classic bands don’t really play anymore, and because he doesn’t really know that many modern bands, Alejandro won’t know what he should listen to . Plus he prefers listening to the music he already knows. He may be open to something new if it’s really good, but he just sticks to the classics if he can. While neither of them may be familiar with the etiquette and customs of a concert, they’ll try for you. However, both of them will grow concerned when there’s suddenly a circle starting to form, one that you want to be part of. Rodolfo has heard about moshing before, but doesn’t really know what to think of it. It seems unnecessarily violent and crude, so he doesn’t want you to be part of such a thing. Alejandro is also hesitant, even if he has no idea in the slightest what’s going on. Both of them would try to convince you to not take part in it. With enough persuasion and asking them to get off your case, you could come to the agreement that Alejandro would go with you so you wouldn’t get hurt. You can tell him all you want that that’s just par for the course, he will come with you. Watches over you like a mother hen the entire time. Rodolfo does too, but he stands on the side and watches it all go down from there. It would take a few kind strangers helping you up to show them that moshing actually isn’t as bad as it might seem at first. However, one of them will always come with you and run alongside you whenever you wanna go moshing.

Once they’ve gotten accustomed to the idea of a mosh pit, you could partake in a wall of death as well. But that time both of them would be by your side. He wouldn’t admit it, but the idea of just ramming into someone does seem kind of fun to Alejandro, who, in turn, would convince Rodolfo to join as well. He would mention your safety being the highest priority, but in reality he just wants to goof around a bit with Rodolfo.

By then Rodolfo will likely have understood that metalheads really aren’t as scary as they may seem at first. He’ll just let you stagedive to your heart’s content, as long as you meet up again by the time the concert is over. It would actually be Alejandro who would fuss over you a bit since he’ll lose you out of his sight. Just convince him that you’ll be fine, that you won’t get hurt, and he’ll begrudgingly let you. He may not be too happy since he doesn’t want to lose you in a crowd this big, but he’ll let you if you really want it. Both of them will try to grab you and move you along, if you’re within reach, though. Again, as long as you find each other again once the concert is over, all is good. However, Alejandro won’t stop bugging Rodolfo about how you might be doing. It’s rare for Alejandro to be the uptight one this entire time and for Rodolfo to be so relaxed, but it can happen. The latter just really wants to enjoy the music. You’ll be fine, he trusts you.

So yeah, drag them along to a festival or a concert, they’ll have fun. Both of them have tinnitus from shooting guns anyway, so a concert won’t hurt them. They get to spend time with each other and with you, all the while listening to some good music.

yakou furio's character is so tragic to me. i wanna meme about how they used the fridged wife trope but other than that it's like. he lost his family and later all of his coworkers and just. existed alone for years.

looking at the state the submarine and especially his bedroom was in, with everything being a mess and all the cigarette butts in his bed, yakou was clearly depressed. he wouldn't even take on any interesting cases to fulfill his passion as a detective because he was so afraid of the peacekeepers. instead he just kept his head down. surviving but not actually living.

and then he finally gets some new detectives to work at his agency and the first thing he can do is fail to save most of them from dying horribly. but the five that yakou did manage to save latch onto him and he starts getting into a leader role! even if his new coworkers are all rowdy and get into trouble they still respect him as a leader and look up to him.

the detectives keep picking fights with the peacekeepers that yakou has been trying so hard to dodge. and usually the resolution is kind of messed up because the victims die but the detectives prove themselves capable of handling the peacekeepers! they're helping people! for the first time in a while, yakou comes toe to toe with peacekeepers willingly, to help his new friends. he realizes that he is able to stand up against amaterasu corp, with the help of the others.

but by the time he realizes this, the stage has already been set. the letter from yomi turned his grief into anger and a thirst for vengeance. although yomi gave him the information and opportunity, yakou was ultimately the one who chose to murder the man who murdered his wife.

yakou has already rebuilt his life after his wife's death. the detectives at his agency look up to him and he would do anything for them. it would never be the same as the life he had with his wife but yakou had the chance to turn over a new leaf with a new found family who cares about him.

but instead, yakou plans a murder. he needs to die, over and over, in order to access the man he wants to kill and he accepts it. he needs to trick two kids, who look up to him and who he cares for, into becoming his accomplices to the murder and he accepts it. in the wake of forcing his detectives to witness his murder, he needs leave them in a lab filled with peacekeepers who want to kill them and he accepts it.

and it's not that he doesn't care about his detectives. yuma and halara disobeyed his orders and assaulted several peacekeepers, and he was willing to be arrested himself before throwing his employees under the bus. yuma and fubuki were implicated in terrorism and yakou and the others solve the case for them, then prepare to fight an army of peacekeepers to protect yuma.

for his murder plan, yakou only needs desuhiko and fubuki's powers. but he brings halara and vivia along as well because they would be able to protect the two younger detectives and fight their way out of the lab after yakou dies. he enacts his plan on a day that yuma wasn't around because he won't be able to help fight peacekeepers, so it's better to just keep him out of this mess. he covers up his murder-suicide to protect his detective's feelings, but also because they would be implicated as his accomplices if his plan was revealed.

and yakou probably expected that the other detectives would be fine. if they'd left him behind to die, the other detectives probably would have been able to either fight their way out or hide out in the lab a bit longer and figured out a good plan to escape. if yakou had his way, he would have gotten his revenge and his detectives would have gone home grief-stricken, but unharmed and forever unaware of their roles in his death.

but yakou doesn't account for the fact that the other detectives would try to save his life. yuma doesn't run after the hitman and escape the peacekeepers, he stays behind to beg yomi to help yakou. fubuki uses up all her energy to rewind time to try to prevent yakou's death instead of helping the others escape the lab. halara, vivia, and desuhiko not only have to fight off peacekeepers, but they also have to carry yakou to a hiding spot to give first aid. and instead of calmly planning their next move, everyone is desperate to solve the case so there would be any chance of getting yakou to a hospital as quickly as possible.

one major theme of rain code is that despite tragedies that may have happened in the past, people can work together with those they care about to live a better life in the future. and yakou could have had that. his wife's death should have stayed in the past, and he should have continued to mentor the other detectives, solving mysteries together and enjoying each other's companies.

but yakou couldn't let the past stay in the past. he had every chance to not go through with his murder. he has new people he loves, but he manipulates them and puts them in danger in order to get back at the person who killed the last person he loved. his victory was a pyrrhic one. he got his revenge but in return, he destroyed himself and his detectives' trust in him. he enjoyed his revenge momentarily before dying and leaving his new family, who he used their love and trust for him to his advantage, to pick up the pieces.

yakou furio had lost everything in the past. but in trying to pursue it he destroyed everything he had in the present. that's the tragedy of his character to me.

#got a prescription from my GP last week and gathered my nerves together to get one today #thankfully we have a health care supply store only ten minutes away on foot #I'd planend on getting an anatomical one as prescribed by my GP and it was comfortable and id probably have chosen it too but #then the lady there told me to try the derby handle instead and honestly that was even better plus i can use it on both sides #its sleek and black for now because i can barely bear the thought of anyone seeing me using a cane in our small town in the first place #but once im comfortable.. #anyway we went to a shop across the street afterwards because my besties mum needed to get some things and I didn't wanna go home by myself #and tbh i preferred the thought of going into our small city centre with somebody i trusted and felt comfortable around the first time aroun #long story short im super suprised by the difference it's making 😬 i mean ofc i didn't just get the cane on a fluke #but it was like 'well let's try it out it may help and people keep saying it's for stability and chronic pain too so why not' #yeah so apparently i did need it #i felt so much better #there were several instances where i noticed the cane kept me from stumbling or swaying or missing a step #it felt good #so thank you all

@the3gracesshownattheirbath (don't think it's letting me tag you properly, soz!) basically what i use now is just a simple moleskine notebook in which i write down the title, author and date i finished the book, then a short summary in my own words (sometimes i forego this esp if it's a re-read) and jot down my thoughts on it, any quotes i liked from the book, whatever the lead-up to my reading it may have been etc. i also use it sometimes when i'm reading a play or smth for school, not always but on occasion just to make notes as i'm going through the text. i also compile little poems i like in there but i haven't done much of that this year!

it's taken on different forms since i've been doing this though, in my first official reading journal i also noted down DNF's or book acquisitions and sometimes made notes on audiobooks i was listening to, but i've found none of that really interests me so i ended up just simplifying it down to this which works lovely for me :)

I am caught on the self indulgent idea of Jaheira and Halsin and hair combing and braiding, but particularly extending their services to Tav and the gang.

i didn't think i cared much for n's final battle theme bc i'm a sucker for melodically strong pieces aka certified bangers. but i must say it does a good job at making you uncomfortable when you really listen to the details. it's got tritones, clock ticking sounds, heartbeats, fire and lighting sound effects for reshiram and zekrom, up and down flights, ominous choir, plenty of dissonance. i woke up in a cold sweat at like 5am today with it hauntingly stuck in my head for some reason and that makes it deserving of my respect

#i would have preferred something more melodic to go with the theme of his heroic and pure heart. and his name #but it does a good job at being like hey there really is something genuinely wrong with this man #it sure sounds.. unnatural....... #he is undoubtedly human and full of love and justice. but he's also broken and misguided #he's barely had any real human interactions in his life and has like no social skills #he has at least one confirmed supernatural power in being able to speak to pokémon #apparently the ticking clocks were supposed to represent the ability to see into the past/future that got scrapped? #but i feel like that's still at least partially canon bc he does mention something like that #the ticking clocks and heartbeats at once are so unsettling. like a duality between machine and human #he's a human being who's been raised to be. less than that. treated as a pawn #obsessed with precise calculations. literally called a 'freak without a human heart' #alternatively it could be meant to represent like hey here's him breaking down and losing it #he already knows he's wrong but can't let go of it yet #they could've included the theme of mechanical calculations but still included a solid melody for his true heart #but his true heart is clouded at that point #man i love blorbo #i need to study him #pokémon #and see. ghetsis' battle theme similarly is dissonant and ominous rather than catchy #so maybe n's thing is that since he's doing all this as ghetsis' puppet #but also like ghetsis' is way more simple and n's is frantic and chaotic #to show how ghetsis is pretty much just pure evil and self-absorbed (the man has choir chanting his name!!!) #but n is conflicted and troubled inside and doesn't even know who he is anymore #natural harmonia more like. unnatural disharmonia #(is 'gropius' also a music thing i genuinely don't know) #bw

I can tell this playthrough is my favorite because I just spent 30 minutes buying dye for everyone's armor based on what I think they'd like to celebrate finishing all their personal quests. An in character shopping trip where my Tav was like, "We've come so far, and we need to look good for the ending! Everyone's getting new drip, my treat!"

Whereas last time, I didn't care about outfit cohesion in the slightest.

#baldur's gate 3 #bg3 #OK SO RAMBLING INCOMING #Shadowheart got custard and pink rose because she was tired of purple and black #and i thought something bright and fun would suit her #Karlach got boreal blue because blue looks good on her and she totally knows it #that one was mostly personal preference tbh #Astarion got lush burgundy because its described as being worn by wealthy people #and he has an image to maintain so of course #Wyll got faewild green and dun because he spends a lot of time in the wilderness #and it may or may not be a subtle message from my archfey warlock #Gale has dark amethyst because the man likes purple and looks stunning in it #Lae'zel got sinful red on bone white and i dont think that needs explaining #and my Tav Talice has peach and apricot because its a gorgeous color combo and i liked it #Halsin Jaheira and Minsc didnt get anything because they look fine as is #and also tbh they aren't part of my Squad #i love them all dearly but they're like the overworked parents and uncle for the crew #this was a Kids Only shopping trip
