#My art #Wander Over Yonder #Sylvia #Another little warmup :) Lots of 'em this time around! #My focus was a little more all over the place - it was fun to have a lot of little things to work on tho :) #I was mostly interested in shapes for this one Sylvia basically wrapped back in on herself #Very curvy-curly-q hehe #She's quite pretty honestly :D She's very rough and tumble and round but genuinely she's cute and pretty! #Cute's no difficulty lol - Wander's cute and Peepers is cute - and Peepers is also pretty! #But they're all cute and pretty in their own ways haha #Her simple palette is another one of my favourites ♪ A small handful of colours while still having cool details ah! #I probably overdid it with the tuft on her tail a bit but honestly I'm still not completely sure how to draw that and her comb :P #Having another excuse to use my scales brush was fun haha ♪ I think it adds a nice highlight :D #And her simple shading was fun too! OK ONE THING ABOUT EP 23 I KEEP THINKING ABOUT

When the teens are using the time-ometer , they say that Taylor becomes Glenn. Glenn. Not Jodie. Which I find super interesting because with the trial that brought about Jodie being Nicks dad, the Dragon said that nothing could change the fact that Glenn was no longer Nicks father. And yet here we are, with Taylor being portrayed as Glenn’s relative, not Jodie’s.

Maybe this was an accident on Anthony and Freddie’s part, but I think that in universe it raises some interesting questions. I mean, when we see Nick for the first time in season two, and he’s talking to Taylor about Glenn and Jodie, it seems he sees them both as father figures. One isn’t to a higher level, they are both his dads. Maybe they did find a way for Nick to get his memories back. Maybe that bond between him and Glenn could never be severed, even by super powerful law magic. Maybe the fabric of the universe will always see Glenn as his true dad, and the trial stuff was just memory erasure. Maybe over time he simply comes to prefer Glenn over Jodie but still loves them both.

Or maybe I’m looking way too much into it, but hey, food for thought.

Narrator (audiobook): Robert puts another piece of wood on the trunk and swings the axe.

Bökh: „And you never wanted to get in touch?"

The Nichtraucher picks up a piece of wood.

Silence.

Nichtraucher: „Why should I? We didn’t see each other for the past ten years either.“

He rips the piece of wood apart with his bare hands. While holding eye contact with Justus.

Silence.

Justus lowers his head.

Jo: „Uh.. weren’t you-" Martina, quietly: „Jo, leave it. Lets go.“

Martina, louder: „We need to go! We still have something to do.“

The kids leave. Jo and Martina are holding hands as they walk away.

Bökh: „Yeah… Thank you, kids.“

Jo, whispering as they walk away: "What was that just now?!"

Robert picks up the chopped wood and walks back to his wagon. Justus looks after him.

Narrator (audiobook): If the two friends will find back together? Matze isn’t so sure of that.

Matze, sarcastically: „Well, that was a great success!“ Jo: „Yeah, so much for friendship between Internals and Externs.“

Narrator (audiobook): At least Robert granted Herr Bökh access to his wagon. He looks around lost in thought more or less, while Robert washes the dishes.

Dishes clatter. There is silence otherwise.

Justus stares wistfully at Robert while he washes the dishes.

Justus takes his eyes off Robert and starts looking around while Robert continues to ignore him.

Bökh: „I thought you were living in London.“ Nichtraucher: (silence) Bökh: „It's nice here.“ Nichtraucher: (silence)

Justus starts walking around.

Bökh: „I told the kids about our friendship.“ Nichtraucher: „As a cautionary tale?“ Bökh: (chuckles/scoffs) „No. Of course not.“

Narrator (audiobook): Bökh spots the poster of „the Bandits“, the same one hanging in his apartment.

Bökh: „The 'Wild Dog' that we always played in is still there.“

Nichtraucher: (silence)

Bökh: „Should we meet there sometime? For a beer?“

Robert looks up.

He lets out a small huff, almost like an incredulous laugh or a scoff.

He dries his hands on a towel and folds it.

Nichtraucher: (silence) Nichtraucher: „I don’t know what we would have to say to each other.“

Bökh: „Hm. Well. A lot of time has passed.“

Narrator (audiobook): Robert sits down at the table and lights himself a cigarette.

Justus turns as well and starts looking around again.

Nichtraucher: „Why didn’t you come to Marie’s funeral back then?“

Nichtraucher: „You didn’t even get in touch.“

[„You didn't even get in touch“ -> parallels to „And you never wanted to get in touch?“]

Justus is silent. He starts fiddling with his jacket and pulls it off his shoulder. He lets out a deep, shaky sigh and is silent for another few moments.

Bökh: „…I don’t know, you met her and… and suddenly you were gone.“

[Parallels to „suddenly your closest loved ones are gone“]

Bökh: „As if everything -our friendship, the band- as if that had all just been a dream.“

Justus turns around and looks at Robert.

Bökh: „Wir zwei. Wir hatten doch Pläne.“

Bökh: „That really hurt me.“ Nichtraucher: „It hurt you.“

Silence. Just the music.

Bökh: „Yes. Very much back then.“

The Nichtraucher lets out a soft incredulous laugh again, almost like a scoff.

Nichtraucher: „I see.“

Long silence. Justus stares out the window. Finally, he turns and walks to the door.

Bökh: „You know where to find me.“

Justus leaves the wagon. Robert nods to himself silently.

Narrator (audiobook): And with these words, Herr Bökh leaves his friend’s train wagon. If the two will ever see each other again?

Last day of Anime Los Angeles was truly “I want to be comfy and silly and not wear a wig” and who better to enable that but STEEEEEVE.

$5 for the yellow “Dog Mama” t-shirt (”Dog Mama” got appliquéd over with red vinyl, which was apparently the only suitable red fabric I had on hand for colour-matching the STEVE logo)

$10 for the black pleather jacket (added cuffs, elbow pads, painted pocket details, and reused the STEVE stencil I made ...for painting another STEVE on the back)

Made (in the span of a very focused week and entirely from stash fabric, s o m e h o w): 

Appliqué for the yellow shirt, with cutouts in the red vinyl to have inset white STEVE letters.

White hood dickie. 

Edits to the black pleather jacket.

Black velvet jester pants with grey sateen insets + the peeking-out tunic.

Synergy in the Emperor’s Coven — grabbed a soupy romance novel from the Little Free Library (that I have previously made deposits to) and gave it a ~ new life ~

i love dming so fucking much i genuinely wish this could be my full time focus.

#i love knowing a system inside and out i love having players who care as much as i do and i love weaving their stories into the major plot #like bright threads in a complex tapestry. #my favourite thing BY FAR is reading a backstory with little plot hooks sprinkled through and being able to grab one and pull #and thread it into something far bigger. i LOVE surprising the players and being deliberate and taking notice of the fine details. #and MOST of all. i love making a fucked up little lesbian to ruin their days.

with tooie, while i feel like it's everyones favourite, it's gotta be witchy world. it's just such a fun world overall that it's hard to pick anything else.

There are some books that are just BETTER if you go through them with a pencil and underline the shit out of tiny details, and honestly if anyone found Hogg's 'Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner' difficult to get into, I highly encourage you to give it another go and give yourself a license to extensively research & annotate every little bit

#I mean I'm biased I already liked it #But my reread was just ten times more enjoyable because I scribbled all over it #Marking in historical details and double-checking what looked like subtle references and thinking over things like faith humour gender etc #And above all NAMES my god that man likes playing with names #At least I think so #And how Hogg puts himself into the story and then doesn't and then does again?? #Classics aren't necessarily all going to be books that sweep you off your feet #Sometimes they're classics because you get to gnaw away at them like a worm with an apple #And you know I'm highly HIGHLY biased but I really enjoyed doing that with this book #It fits perfectly into some of my favourite literary pigeonholes #Ticks a lot of different boxes #And I doubt I will make any converts but as I'm aware taste in particular books is very personal #And unlike say Wuthering Heights the particular reasons I liked Hogg's confessions aren't necessarily common #But also this website has analysed the hell out of Dracula for the last two years #And I grant you Confessions doesn't have as much action but takin just a little bit of that annotating and research energy into it #Really improves the whole experience of reading this book #reading log
