Just a small random rant about Yassen and the casting for the series~
Something I love about the tv adaptation's change from the books, was the casting and description for Yassen. It was so different, and no matter what, I couldn't ever dislike it.
In the books, Yassen is described as having light blond hair, fair skin and an athletic build like that of a dancer. In the movie he has red hair and fair skin, again looking athletic but not exactly like how he is described in the books. However, in the tv series, he has dark hair, much more pigment, and his body looks, well, not perfect by standards. He has a normal looking appearance. Not rugged abs that you can see through his shirt or bulky muscles. Instead, he has toned arms but not that slim or thick. His torso is trim, but you can see the vaguest hint of a belly. Yassen isn't, by visual, some ripped, rugged assassin with a crazy build. Instead, he looks like an average person. He looks real. He looks like someone you would run into at a coffee shop on the way home from work. And I love this. I am not trying to shame or point out Thomas Levin's body in any negative way, but to embrace how he fits the role of Yassen. His normalcy in the role of such a complex and wonderful character is incredible, especially in season three when we get more domestic and personal scenes involving Alex and Yassen. It feels so much more believable and developed than if he were "model" perfect, if that makes sense.
I also want to point out how the current Yassen is different from the younger one. In addition to finding out what is expected of him, what he has to do, what he is capable of, what he is taught by John: we can also see how the world and his work changed him. By his mannerisms, we can see through just a few flashbacks the major differences. How he speaks is calmer, more like John in the fact that he is causal no matter the situation. He never shows people what he is really thinking through his tone or expressions apart from a few times when we almost catch a glimpse, and he stops himself (mainly when talking to Alex). He "knows his place." His confidence makes everyone stop in awe, uncomfortable, scared; unsure. Every inch of his body conveys his character in the smallest ways. I love it so very much. Hats off to those who did the casting. Hats off to Thomas Levin. Thank you for making one of my favorite characters even better.

re: these gays, did you prefer the book over the movie/vice versa or if you didn't have a real preference, what were some differences you noticed or appreciated or disliked
the movie was good but the book was BETTER.
i'm gonna say this is a whole lot of spoilers for red white and royal blue for anyone else who sees this, because i know you won't watch or read it. so it doesn't matter. anyway. and also i guess i'm putting this under a readmore. feels like a lot of words about nothing.
justice for june i cannot believe they cut her out ENTIRELY. [june is alex's older sister. she just straight up does not exist in the movie which is a travesty i love her so much] there is So much missed characterization. and a whole large plot point that is missed because of other cut characters and a lot of it i know can be chalked up to for timing and pacing but :/ there was also a few really minor changes that didn't really make sense to me to have needed to be changed? idk. they changed henry's royal side of his last name, and that just did not make sense to me as to why. in the book, the reigning monarch is a queen; in the movie, a king. why? [makes i don't know sound] also on the topic of siblings, i'm almost completely certain the book told me henry was the youngest and his sister was older. in the movie, his sister is the youngest and her characterization just. does not feel the same. everything about her was cut out. all of it.
there were a few other minor changes that i liked, and some that i liked, but i am glad we have both versions? if that makes sense? there's this scene like, ¾ths of the way through where henry takes alex to the v&a and talks about how his dad [movie, it was both parents in the book but yk. his mum doesn't exist in the movie, either. also a travesty.] took him to that museum a lot before he died and now henry sneaks in a lot. he was going on about how he used to fantasise about bringing the man he loves there and slow dancing amongst the statues. in the book, henry then puts music on and invites alex to dance. in the movie, henry doesn't even get to finish his sentence about it being a "daft prepubescent fantasy" before alex pulls his phone out behind him and puts music on while he's still talking, before dancing with him. and idk i just. really like the idea of alex being the one to initiate it more than it having been hen. [also, in the book, henry played "your song" of elton john's. in the movie, alex plays "can't help falling in love" and both just make me so. mmmmm.] a little later when alex is preparing to leave back to america, hen gives alex his signet ring [which, info dump within an info dump time, if you don't know, signet rings are the like. flat ones that usually have a family crest on it. it's an identifier.] in the book, alex slides it onto the chain he always wears, which also holds the key to his family home, he started wearing it when they moved into the white house. which yk. the symbolism of having both his homes together. very tasty. in the movie, however, after hen gives him his ring, alex gives henry the key necklace and is later seen wearing the ring on his hand instead. which, i believe, is a little bit of a call back to a movie only line way earlier [the book directly contradicts this quote, actually.] where alex is explaining the key and henry says he's never actually owned a key before. so now he does. i love both of these versions of this interaction so very much
there were a couple of scenes or lines that were movie only that i did enjoy, but most of my favourites were either in the book, or both. most of my issues with the movie stem from what is normal content loss in adaptations

Ready Or Not is so fucking good. Like to the point it made me giddy watching it, especially the end. It has such a fantastic mix of comedy, horror, and thrills. And Samara Weaving does the most amazing job as Grace from her fitting into her role like a second skin to the way she wears her wardrobe (the look with the wedding dress and bandelier is just delicious it's giving me brain worms like crazy).
At many points I was reminded very much of that movie You're Next, but I have to say that every similar element is done with so much more panache and grace in Ready or Not. It's also a movie that makes me very glad that I can trust my instincts to at least some degree in reading characters and their twists- at least, I can do so when they're as well written as these ones. What I think I admire most is that despite all belonging to the same family and having the same motives, each member of the family is faceted so finely that even with reading their archetypes and likely end in the film they didn't make me tired in their predictability when it paid off. To the point where it doesn't feel so much like predictability so much as realism. While some movies feel like they assign traits and a path to a character haphazardly and at times to characters seemingly at random, there's something I find very believable about how each character in Ready Or Not is fleshed out down to the end they reach and up to their slightest of ticks and mannerisms.
I also have to say that it was nice to see some actors I recognized without them being names I seem to see everywhere. Andie MacDowell is a bit more well-known but it's still delightful to see her, especially in a dramatic role. And Melanie Scrofano was such a surprise and strangely enough something about her character made me fail to recognize here until about five minutes before typing this. She has no small number of similarities to Mrs. McMurray in Letterkenny and yet... Maybe it was the tone of what surrounded her character or maybe it was just such a seamless blend with her acting skill that I didn't even think to ask 'Now where have I seen her before?' until now. Either way, I'm even more impressed with her acting now that I've seen her as Emilie.
Maybe there's just something I can't name about the movie that's turned my opinion so absolutely toward the positive but I have to say that it's going to take a seat as a personal favorite no matter what.

David Tennant and Michael Sheen on The One Show 10.7.2023 ❤ :)
(also there Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman, and Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas as interviewers :))
Tumblr media
Int1: Well, this is lovely for Wednesday, isn't it?
David: It's a lovely way to spend a Monday night, innit?
Zoe: I was excited to see you both.Likewise.
Int1: Now, Good Omens. I mean, people love the first series. It's back for a second. If there's anybody watching who didn't see the first one, they don't know what we're talking about. Go on, Michael. Fill them in.
Michael: I play an angel on Earth to do angel things.
David: I play a demon. I'm Hell's emissary on Earth.
Michael: And we decide that it's a lot easier if we team up because it saves on shoe leather. So we come to an arrangement, and then we realize that we actually quite like it on Earth, and we don't really want to deal with our respective head offices. And in season one, we save the world from the apocalypse. Season two...
David: And get excommunicated by our respective...
Michael: Yes. Exactly. So season two picks up. We're now...
David: We're at liberty.
Michael: Yeah. I'm in my bookshop, having lovely meals and watching lovely shows and hanging out with my best buddy here.
David: I'm living in my car, unfortunately, becausemy apartment came with a job.
Michael: And then John Ham turns up naked at mybookshop in Soho one day with no memory. And so the mystery begins. Int2: The plot twist. We know we've got a clip.
Nicole: I don't understand why he's [Jon Hamm] not on the couch.
Michael: Well, exactly. Nor me. I think everyone's asking the same thing.
David: Apparently it's a BBC rule you have to be clothed, so he was having none of it.
Int1: Yeah, that would push Monday over the edge. Let's see the clip.
Int2: Let's see the clip.
[familiar trailer plays, nothing new there]
Michael: When I said that line in the scene [I think I may have just started a war.], I knew it would be in the trailer. Do you know when you sometimes go, yeah, this is a trailer, and I got really nervous .I couldn't do it. Doing it over and over again.
Nicole: Well, I'm looking for something to watch. I'm watching that.
Zoe: Yes.
Int2: I like how you were like, yeah, that's the one.
Michael: On 28th.
Zoe: Okay, you watch ours and we watch yours.
Michael: Deal. We're in. We're in.
David: Yes, very good, very good.
Int1: Beautiful. This is the thing, at the heart of Good Omens is this unlikely friendship between you two, but in real life so you filmed it, you didn't know each other, and then they clicked. Look at them. They joined at the hip. They do everything...
Michael: It's true.
Int1: You even had babies at the same time.
Michael: We did.
Int1 [to David]: Your wife posted this picture of you two leaving the hospital.
Tumblr media
David: Look how in tune we are with each other.
Michael: And now those two little babies are nearly four, and they send each other little video messages. Yeah.
David: Well, they're babies of the pandemic, so that's how they think everyone communicates.
Michael: Exactly.
Int1: Is then when you went on to do Staged together?
Michael: Yeah.
Int1 [to Zoe and Nicole]: Have you seen that?
Zoe: No.Wait a minute. What are you guys doing on stage right now? Like a tour or something?
David: No, no it's a show .
Michael: It was a TV series called Staged that we did over Zoom. So we could work from our own houses.
David: Yeah.
Michael: We've done three series.
Nicole: They're extremely clever.
Zoe: That's insane. I have to watch it.
Int2: Now, Michael, apparently you turned down the opportunity to play David's character. Arguably got a better wardrobe. Is it something that you're regretting right now?
Michael: He gets all the best clothes. No. Neil Gaiman, who wrote the book that it's based on with Terry Pratchett. I've been friends with Neil for years, and so when we first started talking about the project yeah. We sort of both kind of, for some reason, assumed that I would play this one character, and then as he started writing the scripts, I was like, that's not the character. I'm not going to play that. So I felt kind of bad about saying that to Neil, and Neil was sort of feeling, because he was thinking thesame thing, feeling bad about saying it to me. So it all came out and then eventually it made way for the Tennant to emerge.
Int1: And he came in his lovely outfit.
Michael: Yeah. And his slinky hips.
Tumblr media
...
Int2: David. You're returning to Doctor Who. We had Catherine Tate on a couple of weeks ago.
David: Oh, yes.
Int2: o we spoke to her about it all. Now, she said it was like slipping back into a comfy pair of slippers. Was it the same for you?
David: Yeah. I mean, 15 years is quite a long time. And you do worry you won't be able to runf ast enough anymore, but...
Int1: Is it 15 years ago?
David: 15 years.
Int1: It's not, David, it can't be.
David: You're a lot older than you think you are.
Michael: I was only five when... I remember the David Tennant. I was just a little nipper.
Int2: On the Doctor Who subject. Watching... that's what inspired yo uas a child, wasn't it? Watching Doctor Who.
David: Yeah.
...
Int2: Good Omens Series Two on the 28 July on Prime Video and you can catch all three series of stage on IPlayer.
...
Int1: Let's say Nadoli Llawen.
Nicole: Yeah. [Tries]
Int1: Nadoli Llawen. Merry Christmas in Welsh.
Michael: Very good.
Int1: Michael, you can verify this. I mean, even the both of us are from South Wales, and even within 20 minutes car Journey, there'll be different dialects...
Michael: Within streets! Streets! Yeah, you can tell where someone comes from, which end of town people come from. [to Int1] I know which end of town you come from.
Int1: Say no more.
Michael: It's always been very clear, Alex.
Int1: Always very clear.

#okay wait do y'all think that she wasn't going to try and murder Dean?#Do you think he was going to get through to her?#convince her somehow to not try to stab him?#that she was telling the truth at all in that scene?#because she was totally going to try and kill Dean#like 100% that was going to happen#and if Sam hadn't shot her then Dean would have had to kill her and that would have been so much harder on Dean#like it was disturbing that Dean had a 3 day old monster child that wanted to kill him but who was then killed by her uncle Sam instead#and even more disturbing that they then never mention her again#but these are also the guys who left their half brother in Lucifer's cage and didn't lose any sleep over it so...#and I love Dean but killing Amy was an asshole move#and there's kinda a difference between killing an active imminent threat and killing someone in cold blood after the fact @jinkieswouldyoulookatthis
I didn't want to clutter someone else's post but this was partially directed at me? I've talked about the whole "Emma vs Amy" debate quite a few times, but I'll share a few thoughts.
Amy is a present, unrepentant, fully cognizant, adult, serial murderer. She is not actually sorry about what she did in any way. She believes that slaughtering humans like cattle to feed them to her son was the morally correct action even if it wasn't the ethical action because it kept her son alive. She is not correct.
Emma is a brainwashed child who's been psychologically conditioned for a few days. She has never killed anyone and only wants to kill Dean because some women who abused her told her to.
Hunters like Sam and Dean primarily deal in punitive justice, not preventative justice—and what I mean by that is that Sam and Dean try not to kill people (with powers or without powers) who have never killed anyone.
While I think you're right to point out that a preventative justice component is in play, that is not primarily how Dean makes the decision to go after Amy, and the reason we know that is because Amy's son swears to kill Dean and Dean does nothing about it because the boy has done absolutely nothing wrong.
Dean's application of his personal code is consistent here. He kills Amy, who is a murderer who killed four people, but he does not intend to kill Emma or Amy's son—both of whom wanted to kill him—because neither has actually killed anyone and both may choose not to.
You say that Emma was going to kill Dean 100%, but you don't actually know that because we never got to see that future. You assume Amy would never have killed again, but when you add up "murderer who regrets absolutely nothing" and "child vulnerable to catching illnesses" you get "Mom who absolutely would kill again as necessary and who would feel zero remorse doing so just like the last time".
I don't personally think SPN gives us any reason to suspect that three days of psychological conditioning from a cult is too much to overcome. We have seen other characters overcome much more serious levels of psychological conditioning intended to make them killers. For example, Cas and Alex. I'm not saying Emma wasn't trying to pull the wool over Sam and Dean's eyes in the scene where Sam shot her, but I am saying that doesn't actually mean in any way that she couldn't be convinced to actually choose a different path.
Under the same litmus test with which you suggest Emma's condemnation, we'd also condemn season 2 Sam for his potential "future" crimes. We are killing monsters before they actually become those monsters... because of the dark path someone else intends for them to go down. Amy—again—is an active present unrepentant serial killer.
I think sometimes people misremember the scene where Sam kills Emma—recalling the scene as a scene where Emma lunges at Dean with the knife and Sam steps in just in time to save his life, or where Dean is unarmed and Emma has him at knife point. But that is not what happened. Emma quite literally brought a knife to a gun fight. Dean had a gun pointed at her, and if she was thinking straight at all, she would have left to avoid being killed if given the chance—especially when Sam arrived. And had she not, Sam could have shot her at that point—but Sam didn't wait to see what she'd do. He wanted her dead, because even if she ran, he didn't think they were equipped to deal with surprise attacks from Dean's Amazon child. That is the decision Sam made after a brief moment to consider, and it makes sense to me given the headspace he was in at the time and his assessment of Dean's headspace as well, but it does not make his decision consistent with his previous or future behavior regarding people who have been psychologically conditioned to kill.
My own frustrations are more with fandom, for a thought process that really really does not make sense to me, where Emma deserves to die but Amy deserved to live. I do not agree with that premise. I do not understand why so much of fandom has the perspective that a child who hadn't shed a drop of blood and who was acting in response to a cult's torture, who brought a knife to a gun fight and had already been driven into a corner where she had no choice but to surrender or run—doesn't deserve a chance to choose something else before she's barely lived and before she's heard a loving word in her entire life, but an adult with full cognizance of their actions who went through with killing four people and doesn't regret it should go on with their life and is "just a good mom doing what she had to" and killing that person is the bad thing. I don't understand that. I don't think Dean killing Amy was wrong at all in the "hunters kill supernatural murderers" show. The only thing Dean did wrong was lie about it and not take enough care to keep her son from seeing it happen.

Heartstrings. // Single!Dad Alex Turner X Reader! (Fluff).
prompt: reader getting to know alex's daughter for the first time. also, her letting it slip that alex loves you before he tells you that properly.
words: 3,7K.
Tumblr media
As you stood there, your hands sweaty and your thoughts a bit too scattered for your liking, Alex was by the door with an affectionate smile, trying to ease your nerves. You had been together for a few months, and over time, Alex made it clear that he always had his little girl waiting for him at home. While you loved hearing him talk about her and how sweet she was, it was evident that he was apprehensive about introducing you to her. You understood and let things unfold naturally, giving him the space he needed. But as time went on, your anxiety grew, and thoughts like "what if she doesn't like me" kept filling your head.
You knew what was going through Alex's mind. He had never introduced anyone to his daughter after her mother left, and even though you assured him that you didn't need time, he still gave you space to get accustomed to the idea. Most of the time, it had just been the two of them, a strong bond pair from the beginning. This made you consider that he might fear her getting attached to you only for you not to be what he expected at some point. He had been hurt before, it was expected that he had his guards on alert.
And now, there you were, with some flowers and a box of chocolates for the dark-haired little head that was behind him, peeking between his long legs. "Hey," you thought of calling him by a pet name, but hesitated. He chuckled, kissing your forehead and pulling you into a hug, "Hey you, pumpkin," he said, holding your face to see if your weak smile reassured him that you were okay. His eyes did their job of softening you.
You couldn't explain it, but Alex felt like home to you, and you were afraid and somewhat selfish to think that his daughter might not like you, making you lose that feeling. "Come ‘ere, little one," he held her in his arms, facing you. She had dark brown eyes, like an adorable cartoon character, and her hairline shaped like a heart, just like her father's. She had an open and excited smile for you, which calmed your heart a bit, even though it was still pounding in your chest. "So, Arabella, this is daddy's girlfriend," and she nestled closer to him in an adorable way.
"Your dad said you like flowers," you showed her the arrangement you brought, with various colors. She seemed curious about you but was also shy. "And chocolates," she glanced at Alex, who kissed the top of her head attentively. "Daddy doesn't let me eat too much sugar," she said softly, with the same accent as him, but her words were a bit mumbled. "Oh, I took care of that, and he approved of my choice," you shook the package at her. "But you'll have to share them with me." She looked at him, quite unsure, and then gained his approval, opening her arms, asking to be picked up by you. Her eyes were still fixed on you in a funny way. She hugged your neck tightly, cuddling up to you, and while still in your embrace, she held the flowers in her tiny hands, seeming to like them. You wondered if she could sense how nervous you were.
Looking at Alex, he had a calm and reassuring look on his face, as if to tell you that you had worried for no reason. He told you to come inside while he gathered your things, as your bag was still at the entrance, and you would be staying the night. It felt strange to already know the house so well but not having any knowledge of how it was with Bella around. And she clung to you and didn't want to let go, and you liked that feeling, as if you had just made a new friend, which was true.
"Do you want to play with me?" she held your hand minutes before Alex grabbed the chocolates and asked us to wait until after dinner. You were amused at how she understood and continued by your side even when Alex kissed both her and your head before saying that. "I can, sure," you replied with a smile.
Bella grew more comfortable around you, showing you her room and a toy tea set that Alex had mentioned before. It was clear that her showing you these things meant she liked you. But you still had some doubts; it was still early in your relationship with both Alex and Bella.
Alex took charge of dinner, which made you a bit nervous around Bella. She was sweet and delicate, and you could see how Alex was a good father. He was attentive, making sure you didn't feel like Bella was solely your responsibility, even though you wanted to be there for her.
"You're pretty," Bella said shyly, her cheeks turning pink as she tucked her hair behind her ears. It seemed like she was confirming something she had already suspected. "Did he tell you that I'm pretty?" Your stomach fluttered as if it were an abnormal feeling to hear that he had spoken about you to her. While you knew she had knowledge of you, just as you had knowledge of her, hearing it directly from her was different.
"He talks about you a lot," she continued, playing with her doll. She noticed your interest and found a cute way to bond with you. At some point, you wondered if Bella might feel jealous of you or if you were competing for her dad's attention. However, she seemed unfazed. It was like Alex had painted such a loving and admiring picture of you that she had fully embraced. She was curious and well-mannered, while you felt more like a playful mess.
"He talks about me?" You asked curiously, unable to hide your excitement. She nodded, whispering, "I can tell you more, but it has to be our secret." She seemed happy with her plan, indicating that she had been thinking about having this conversation with you beforehand. It was her way of forming a friendship with you, and you promised to keep it a secret.
"Are they good things?" you asked, semi-closing your eyes. Bella put her hands over her mouth, blushing immediately. "Yes, they are," she confirmed after a pause. "He really likes you, a lot." You listened attentively, continuing to play with her doll's hair. She avoided direct eye contact, as if she were revealing one of her biggest secrets. You wanted to hug her; it felt strange that anyone would ever doubt choosing her.
"He always comes home happy after spending time with you. I love seeing him happy," Bella said, getting closer until her body leaned slightly against yours. "I also love seeing him happy, Bella. He's always beaming when he talks about you too," you replied, feeling more connected as she looked into your eyes with newfound confidence. "Really?" she asked, wanting confirmation for something she probably already feared to know.
"Yes, absolutely. He talks about how excited he is to come home and see you, or he shares lovely moments he had with you. He loves you so much, and I don't think he could ever stop talking about you even if he tried. It brings him so much joy," you assured her. Bella beamed, feeling happy to know that her dad talked about her to you, understanding that you were important to him.
"I really wanted to meet you, and I'm so happy it's finally happening," you sighed, and she nodded, sharing your excitement. Looking around, she met your gaze again and continued, "He said he loves you, so that means you're like family, right?" You raised an eyebrow, realizing the difference between feeling loved and hearing the actual words spoken. "He said that?" She blinked, seeming unaware of the impact of her words. "That he loves you," she confirmed, her nose turning a shade of red reminiscent of Alex.
You felt momentarily frozen, circling the words in your mind. Alex had never said it explicitly with words, but through countless gestures, you knew the immense love he held for you. "He does mention it a lot too, but I feel like I shouldn't have mentioned it," Bella said, and you laughed, gently holding her face to ease her worries. "If you don't say anything, I won't either." She smiled back, convinced it was a good plan. There was a warm pause, and it felt cozy, like forming a little secret bond between the two of you.
"And do you love him?" Bella asked, and without hesitation, you nodded, feeling your cheeks turn hot. She beamed, throwing herself into your arms, seemingly even happier about it than you. Before her excitement could overwhelm you, Alex called for both of you, leading to a confirmation of your pinky promise, even with him watching. You vowed not to say anything, and even when he looked only at you for more information, you remained composed, leaving him feeling a bit of jealousy over your special connection with Bella.
You felt stuffed with food, and Bella didn't seem any different. Alex never failed to satisfy, especially when it came to food. He sat beside you at the table, your arms touching between bites, and Bella cheerfully ate in front of you. It felt like finding a comfortable spot to relax; you wanted to experience this more often. When Bella asked for more, Alex didn't hesitate to get up and serve her. Her side of the table had a plastic tablecloth, and he let her eat freely, even if it got messy and took longer. He would be there with her at the table until she finished. He never failed to smile at her; it was evident how much he enjoyed being with her. Alex didn't seem to mind at all; he did what he thought was best for her without complaining. It was hard to imagine them arguing or getting too much into each other's minds. When he needed to correct something she had done wrong, he stayed calm, getting down to her eye level and speaking with an engaging voice, and she seemed to understand. There were no tears, no tantrums, no misunderstandings. They hugged, and everything was fine. It was heartwarming to watch, and it made you admire him even more.
"You look tired, babe. Want to go upstairs and rest while I finish up 'ere?" he asked, brushing your hair away from your face and kissing your forehead. Indeed, you were tired, feeling a bit disoriented, as if in a dream. Bella grumbled in disapproval, and Alex chuckled. "She won't leave us, Bella. She'll still be 'ere in the mornin'." That reminder made you feel comforted in a wonderfully cozy way. "She needs to rest; I'm with you all day. She just got off work to be with us," he explained, and the girl nodded, letting out a heavy sigh. "I'm okay," you laughed, dismissing Alex's concerns. "I'll just change quickly and be back in no time, I promise." Bella perked up at the idea, and you didn't want to go to sleep without saying goodnight to her. However, you also didn't want to be intrusive and take up all their time together. Even though they seemed not to mind, it was still a concern of yours. Alex had told you once that he used to put on some music and sometimes read stories to her before bedtime, and although you'd love to see that, you were afraid of seeming like an intruder in their special moment.
"I've prepared fresh towels and soap upstairs, just in case," he informed, wanting you to feel comfortable. You had been there before, and it was always like this. Now you were beginning to think it was a paternal instinct or something. You hugged him, burying your face in his chest; you had been dying to do that, but you were balking at the invitation. He laughed, kissing your face and holding you close. As expected, he waited for you to release your arms before letting go of the embrace. As you looked at him, his eyes softened, full of love at your sight. Bella covered her face with a funny smile while looking at both of you, as if to say, "I told you, see?" Alex chuckled, glancing between the two of you. "What's this all 'bout, girls?" You shook your head, looking at Bella. "I can't tell; it's our secret."
Bella didn't take long to fall asleep. You ended up adopting one of Alex's loose button-up shirts and more comfortable shorts before joining them again. Unfortunately, you had missed Alex telling stories to her, but you arrived just in time for Bella to ask you to choose the next vinyl record. She was tucked in bed, and Alex was sitting at the end of it. You looked at him, and he simply nodded, "go ahead, babe." So, you picked one of his own vinyl records, making Bella giggle and Alex roll his eyes. As the songs started playing, you encouraged her to hum along, and soon you were both imitating his gestures and accent, making Alex laugh and blush a bit. "Don't you love daddy's singing voice?" you whispered, and she nodded enthusiastically. Soon, you were pretending to be catching each other's kisses, just like he did on stage. Alex watched you both with joy; it was comforting to see that you got along well, and your worries had been for nothing. Bella fell asleep around the third song, and you couldn't wait to do it again, maybe on any random afternoon just for the fun of it. Before falling asleep, she had held your hand, and her fingers had been entwined with yours ever since. You kissed her hand and observed her for a moment, her expression peaceful in her Batman pajamas. She was a pocket version of Alex.
"She likes you," he chuckled, the corners of his eyes crinkling, begging to be touched. Alex kissed her forehead, said goodnight, and covered her better. Then he kissed you, his warm hands lingering on your waist. "Did she tell you that?" He nodded, and you imagined that by now, Bella would have spilled the secret. "She did, but she didn't need to. You can tell by how she's 'round you." He felt his muscles relax; Bella was fine and sleeping, and he no longer had to worry about her reaction to having you with them. "She was worried she'd fall asleep before you came back to say goodnight to her." You furrowed your eyebrows. "Alex, god, she likes me." He laughed as you hugged him even tighter, and he wrapped his arms around you, wishing he could merge into you somehow.
You had talked between kisses and caresses until falling asleep, his strong arms wrapped around your waist, and your nose buried in his neck. The murmurs ranged from nonsensical to more thoughtful things. You mentioned wanting to go on vacation with them as soon as possible, and Alex now knew that you wanted to buy matching dresses for the two of you because you thought it was cute. He found it a lovely idea to keep in mind before finally drifting off to sleep. As your eyes closed, you heard noises outside. The door opening slowly, and Bella appeared with red eyes.
"Are you okay? What happened?" you whispered, going to her without wanting to wake up Alex. He deserved to rest too. "Bad dreams," more tears rolled down her cheeks, and you wiped them away with the sleeves of your shirt. You picked her up, carrying her to the kitchen and sitting her down while you got her some water. "Do you want to talk about it?" you asked cautiously, handing her the glass of water. She drank and then put it down. Then, she opened her arms to you widely, and your heart softened as you took her in a hug. She nuzzled her face against you, clearly sleepy but unlikely to fall asleep anytime soon. You held her close, unsure if you should call Alex or not. "Is it okay if I stay with you until you can fall asleep?" She nodded without saying anything, her heart racing, and her tiny hands clenching around you. "How about we eat the chocolates now? What do you think?" She agreed, and you found yourself questioning again whether it was a good idea or not. But since she accepted, you didn't hesitate. You both sat more comfortably on the living room couch, and she nestled against your chest, helping herself to some chocolates. Then, she began to talk about how she dreamt she was falling off a cliff, and how everything felt so realistic. You listened and comforted her. She had Alex's way of speaking, words well thought out and punctuated, occasionally pausing between sentences but still expressive. Maybe it was because you loved Alex, but you felt love for her too, wanting to protect her and keep her from feeling upset.
"That sounds terrible, Bella," you assured her as she pressed her face into your shoulder, sleep gradually returning to her as she murmured a few other things. "You'll come over more often, won't you? I thought we could have a sleepover party, you and some friends. They always have sleepovers, but it's hard to have them 'ere when it's just daddy and me." Her approach was genuine, but you could read between the lines. "Are there many friends? We could make cakes and other fun treats." You suggested with the same gentle tone. She laughed, her hand gently squeezing your arms. "There are three," she indicated with her fingers, counting her three friends and describing what they were like. You liked the idea and would be happy to do it. Gradually, her voice became softer and less coherent until the last thing you remembered was holding her tighter due to the cold.
You slowly opened your eyes, the room already bright, and you both were covered. It was still early, but the delightful smell of the kitchen filled the house. You adjusted Bella under the covers and felt relieved to see her so relaxed, sleeping with her mouth slightly open. Even in her unconscious state, her arm clung to you, and it was emotionally difficult to let go, rather than physically. Alex seemed restless, even though he appeared calm and composed on the outside, but you could tell the difference. You approached him as he was cutting some fruits and wrapped your arms around his waist, resting your cheek on his body. Having him relaxing under your touch was simply divine.
"Good mornin’, love," you sighed, and he did the same, wiping his hands and turning to kiss you, wishing you a great day. He tasted like fresh fruits and had the scent of toothpaste, still warm from the bed. As he held you in his arms, it felt even better. "I'm sorry I didn't hear her wake up," he whispered, holding your face gently in his hands. He feared making you feel responsible for her, and that thought took up his mind from time to time, reminding him to avoid that. You shook your head, "It's alright, she's adorable, Alex. She had a bad dream, and I could help her. I'm happy about that." You pressed your fingers against his skin, wanting to emphasize how much that meant to you. He seemed to understand, albeit a bit apprehensive. "Next time, I can call you, I just thought you deserved more rest. I'm sorry," you said understandingly, as you didn't mind him worrying about it if that was the case. He chuckled lightly, his eyes on yours, and his fingers moved from your cheeks to your hair. "That's not it," he bit his lip, speaking in the same punctuated and thoughtful manner as his daughter. "It's a bit stupid, actually, but I'm afraid she might think I wasn't there for her when she needed me. Whenever this happens, she calls me, and I'm always there. And I know she called, and I definitely didn't hear it." He saw your expression soften, and he felt your lips meet his. "You're being silly," you gently pushed his chest, and he laughed. "You're doing just fine, Al. You’re worrying ‘bout nothin’. Bella knows you're there for her no matter what. You're a such great dad." You tried to convince him, because it was true. But you knew it would still haunt him, no matter how many optimistic words you had for him. Still, you wouldn't hesitate to verbalize them again. You hugged him once more, this time in a full-body embrace, one of those where you could feel every fiber of the other person, and he whispered in your ear, "You're perfect, did you know that?" You denied it, snuggling closer to his chest, and he affirmed it again. The minutes passed slowly, and the beats of his heart brought you so much peace, and as always, he wouldn't let go until you did first. "She did tell you, didn't she?" You looked at him, and his cheeks gained the famous hues, and he nodded. "Yeah, she spilled the secret," he paused, swallowing weakly. "So it's true?" You said as if you didn't know the answer, and he knew you knew. "Yeah, she did, and she told me it's mutual. She didn't just reveal my secret," he gestured with air quotes on the last word.
You were so close, your breaths mingled with each other, and you could feel his heart racing, knowing he felt yours too. "I love you, Alex," you breathed deeply, as if you were out of breath, your eyes unable to handle the pressure of meeting his and diverting to his rosy lips. "A lot, more than Bella might have told you." He laughed, the tip of his nose touching yours, both feeling like teenagers in high school. "I love you too, so much, pumpkin. More than Bella might have led you to believe."

Heyy :) Can you please write headcanons of dating quackity, but in his earlier eras? (like 2019-21 maybe) ❤
ooooo yes of course!!! ; fun fact I've been watching him since 2018 or so (I don't mean this in a "Oh I'm cooler than you way) ; thank you for the request!! this was fun as hell ; I tried to kinda do it in a chronological order but yeah, I did like stuff and then more details of relationship if that makes sense yk???
QUACKITY ; 2019-2021 era
warnings ; language, talk of drugs, jokes about sex
genre ; fluff
word count ; 858
masterlist
Tumblr media
Raiding Club Penguin with him and Axel was a core memory for you. It was the first true time, however cringe it sounds, that you saw Alex as your best friend.
he'd always try to make you laugh, especially on stream
such a little tease
back in the olden days, we had those Discord server 'wtf is that food' videos
you guys rank some of them and how likely you'd eat them
also ranking Discord memes
so many of them were dumb shit or weird shipart from like 2015 deviantart LMFAO
"guys I know me and y/n are dating but that doesn't mean compare us to Shrek couples!"
"I thought Thanos was your true love?"
"He-He is! Oh my God, stop being so desperate, y/n. ugh"
once he got invited to the Dream SMP, you were all ears and proudly taught him how to play Minecraft
you made his alt skin with the tuxedo, which he didn't wear often, but used in lore some time later
youd often help him with lore ideas
he also got you invited into the SMP where he introduced you to some of his new friends
you knew schlatt and some others, but most of these people were new and it was nice meeting all of them
the fiances are established and then you and quackity are already a think and you also like karl, which creates a weird love rectangle with an open end because you and sapnap are sharing the other two 💀
lore goes fuckin crazy with that
while Karl's off making Kinoko Kingdom and Quackity's running Las Nevadas, you're building El Tropicana, off in the far away jungle biome
Alex would usually stream and translate Mexican soap operas, which you joined in for sometimes
you'd give the characters different voices and twist their words up a bit to make it more entertaining for chat
the amount of drug talk that went into that was wild
also the amount of queer kids bullied in those schools?? yikes on bikes
also the one with that girl who got in trouble for kissing a boy on the playground or whatever that was?? Jesus christ man
youd both act put the scenes on occasion and use Tiger as whatever kid was being yelled at if she was in the room with you
taking a break halfway through stream for him to play guitar and for you to karaoke to fuckin Bo Burnham
also making fake joints out of paper he had laying around and "lighting them up" aka setting paper on fire next to a PC and your faces
Jackbox streams with the Feral Boys until 3am>>>
Paranormal Activity in the middle of the night went so fucking crazy
teaching Bad how to play GTA is your favorite memory with those two
playing horror games and watching him play horror games with Karl while he visited him
how dare he leave you all alone (you couldn't go because you had a busy schedule)
your chats shipping the hell out of you and your dsmp characters
hella fanart and fanfictions man
try not to laugh streams where you always ended up laughing before the ten minute mark because of him
he purposefully does shit to make you laugh
reading fanfiction on stream was a regular activity especially for y/s/n
youd rank the book on a scale from one to ten and how accurate to real life they were
"nahhhh that one doesn't have enough Thanos, two out of ten"
"yknow what... were gonna have our own tier lists... okay?"
"damnit... does this mean I'm not getting laid later?"
"what"
promoting the quackityhq merch religiously
also stealing whichever beanie he wasn't wearing, either the LAFD one or the plain black and blue one
him tying you to a chair and forcing you to laugh was a common stream plot
tweets that were either very inconspicuous about drugs, very sexual, or very old married couple vibes
youd both be frequently trending on twitter
hot wings or dare streams with Bad >>>>
playing girls go games and hoping you wouldn't give his PC a virus
sitting in the inflatable pool fully clothed, playing with children's bath toys
he'd for sure be the type to fall for his best friend
whether it be all the way back then or just now, he could go forever without feeling any feelings but one day they'll show up and the nervousness begins
he'd lend you a hoodie if you were cold in his room and he just straight up begs you to keep it
lots of just staring at you while chat ships you, like genuinley just zones out on your pretty face
would probably doubt his feelings at first and talk to his mom about it and she's like "boy you have a crush. Go ask them the hell out, you're a handsome young man, I'm pretty sure they like you too"
"mOooOooOoOoM"
genuinley spoils you with no good reason and after a while you just accept it
he starts sending good morning and good night texts
he'll repost (or reblog) (he has a secret tumblr) fanart of you two, especially if it's shipart
will constantly send you clips of movie characters making out or kissing and say "this should be us"

BEHOLD! BOOKS I READ IN 2023!
A handful of rereads, a lot of new favorites, and I put a huge dent in my physical unread piles! I'm pretty happy with my reading year to be honest!
BEST OF 2023
Nettle and Bone by T Kingfisher - If I haven't talked about it enough please read this. An absolute DELIGHTFUL start to the year, which is odd to say of a book about abusive spouses and dead sisters. Like. I wanted to reread it right after finishing it, and will probably reread it this coming year, I loved it so much
The Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee - also heart wrenching but listen, there are BIRDS! Giant birds!!!! A strange pick me up during a bad time, but it WORKED!
To Shape A Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose - Oh what a marvelous read, a delightful adventure, I look forward to book two!
Provenance by Ann Leckie - don't hate me, but I think I might enjoy this more than the Imperial Radch trilogy. It's really what I wanted from A Memory Called Empire, and it was so much fun to see the Radchaai from a different perspective!
The Liar's Knot by MA Carrick - DEROSSI VARGO, MY BELOVED! But also, this has such rich worldbuilding. Every time there's a Pattern reading in a scene, the authors did their own reading in real life and put the results in the book. They came up with multiple calendars for the world. And it never feels overwhelming, everything is integrated so naturally! Ren heists an entire family for her and her sister. A lovely brick of a book :)
Where the Drowned Girls Go by Seanan McGuire - I think this might be my favorite Wayward Children book so far, I'm glad these books are bite sized because I want to read them over and over <3
The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie - WHAT A FUNKY LITTLE BOOK!
WORST OF 2023
Black Wings Beating by Alex London - birds would not fucking do that. Why are we following the most insufferable of the characters. Why is everything about him, even the parts about his sister. Blegh.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo - this canNOT be the same book tumblr couldn't stop talking about for months. I know I shouldn't judge a book by its sequel, but I know about the glowing demon dick. Come on. Also, like, the whole book was building up to rescuing someone and then THEY NEVER DID! wtf lol
Tress and the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson - Snooze. Yawn. Snore. One of the most boring books I've read. I was right to avoid Mr Sandwich and his books.
Whalefall by Daniel Kraus - I feel bad because someone hyped this a lot and was excited about it, and so I was excited about it, but it read like it was written specifically for a movie in mind. It's just Daddy Issues™️in the ocean.
This does not include rereads, of which Name of the Wind was one. Yes, I still loved that one. Still fun, still weird that it never felt long despite being a BRICK. Proof I don't hate long books because they're long, I hate long books that don't have to be long. Which is why the Dishonorable mention goes to Priory of the Orange Tree lol Get edited, beloathed.
Anyway! Onwards to 2024! :)

What I Love About You: An Incomplete List of Things That I Love About Taylor Zakhar Perez
Tumblr media
This is going to be a mix of prose and a list, so a mix of Henry and Alex (if you know, you know). This is also gonna be a forever incomplete list because the more I get to know Taylor, the more I fall in love with him and there's always something about him that surprises me every day.
These are also purely descriptive but somehow, the words, similes and metaphors that I use in this is perfectly apt for the way I feel. So take that however you wish.
With that said, here we go...on to the long list.... (Read at your own time, please.)
His beautiful brown eyes that's the color of chocolate that transforms into whiskey when struck by daylight.
His eyelashes that's as long as Bambi's and it frames his dark eyes like the petals of a flower.
His soft yet lethal smile that never fails to make my heart flutter.
His thick dark hair filled with lush curls and somehow always looks both tousled and coiffed to perfection.
His jawline that seems to be perfectly cut that it could slice an apple. (It's mesmerizing to look at, if I feel like being honest)
His physique that could battle Tom Holland and Chris Hemsworth (I swear, someone put him in a superhero movie and I will surely be watching it!)
His deep voice that is pure music to my ears. (One of the main reasons that I rewatch The Kissing Booth 2 is to hear him sing.)
The captivating way his fingers strum the strings of a guitar (I only saw him do this in TKB 2, but still).
His adventurous and nature-loving spirit (A day with him is probably deadly for an introvert like me because he adores adventurous stuff, but hey, I would honestly do it just to spend time with him).
His passion for fashion sustainability (I love that he talks about this on his social media accounts and informs his followers about the effects of synthesized fabrics to the planet).
His fashion sense and the way he can turn even the plainest piece of clothing into a masterpiece (Like that denim blue jacket in RWRB is still one of my most favorite Alex looks).
The way he walks as if the entire world is his fashion runway (Like I swear, Taylor has a way of walking that makes you think that a sidewalk is the fashion catwalk).
The way he slays various types of jewelry (I was never attracted to men wearing jewelry before but something about the way he combines like a necklace with a couple of bracelets and rings is slaying).
His love and care for his family (He is a family-oriented person and I love that so much).
The tight bond he keeps with his friends and co-stars (Like I love how he keeps in touch with Nicholas, Joey and Maisie even after their projects).
His dedication to character work and understanding his characters (He read the RWRB book 7-8 times to fully understand Alex Claremont-Diaz, like that is DEDICATION!!).
The mere fact that he is a bookworm (Taylor is probably one of those people who can read multiple books at once while still able to remember every storyline of each book, which leaves me awestruck because I cannot do that).
His sense of humor and wit that always makes me laugh (His replies to people on social media and sometimes, his captions are filled with puns, which is hilarious to me and I always enjoy reading them. Also when he uses that filter that makes his eyes pop out, hilarious!).
When he portrayed a douche in "1Up" but I couldn't fully hate that character because of him (Like, how could I possibly hate Taylor? I have no reason to. He could portray the vilest of villains and I would still love that character).
How he manages to stay optimistic and how he always protects his peace (Optimism is what we need in today's world, folks!)
His creativity (Like have you seen his tiktoks and videos on Instagram? They slay!!)
He's a big Potterhead (Taylor's read all the books multiple times, ate the candies and sweets featured in the series. He probably has a collection of Harry Potter items at his house).
The way he just does not have any bad angles in photos (He's photogenic from every angle, to be completely honest).
His kindness and openness to fans (his fan encounters are always such a gem to see and it honestly melts my heart).
The way he doesn't let haters and rumors bother him (This is one of the secrets to success in the industry, I guess!)
He's goal-oriented and knows what he wants (I have a feeling he's selective to what projects he pursues and products he advertises because he really knows what he wants to put out in the world).
He knows his values and what he stands for (He lost followers on IG because of posting about his supply chain trips but he didn't let that stop him from continuing to post about them).
His compassionate and loving heart (I won't say more).
His determination to use his platform for good things (He's that kind of influencer and I really love that).
His love for his characters, regardless of how similar or different they are to his own personality.
How fans have no bad things to say about him (Really, ask any TZP fan and they will say no bad things about him).
So...it's kind of ironic how I ended at 31, considering that is Taylor's age but hey, we're not gonna talk about how old he looks because to be honest, he always manages to look younger than he is (I honestly thought he was 27 to 28 in RWRB).
This is the incomplete list of things I love about Taylor Zakhar Perez. Other than what is stated here, I will continue to love him for plenty more reasons, some I cannot even put into words because sometimes, he just renders me speechless.
Feel free to let me know what would you add to my list of things that I love about TZP or if you have your own list of things that you love about him because let's be honest, what's not to love about the one and only Taylor Zakhar Perez?
All my love and Buenas Noches!

Brosectomy - J. Seresin
Tumblr media
pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x shy!wife characters: Javy "Coyote" Machado x OC!Wife (Valerie), Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, Robert "Bob" Floyd, Alex Seresin, Ella Seresin, Eli Seresin, Natasha "Phoenix" Trace warnings: vasectomy, crude language (?), Jake and Javy are dramatic, Jake post-surgery word count: A/N: I saw these tiktoks about Link and Rhett's brosectomy, and now here we are:) And here's a little break from all the whump
|| masterlist || Opposites Attract World || library page ||
When Jake and Y/N found out they were expecting not one, but two children, Jake knew that it was time to get a vasectomy. Y/N had mentioned getting her tubes tied after Eli, but Jake didn't want her to make a decision that would be so permanent when they weren't sure if they were totally done having kids. He also didn't want her to have an extra surgery that would take her longer to recover from, when he could get a local anesthetic and be done within an hour and be able to run after the kids that same day.
Jake wanted to wait until at least after the twins were born to get the surgery, wanting to make sure that he would be able to help. But then he changed his mind when Coyote explained he was also looking into the surgical option.
Coyote and his wife Valerie had three kids under the age of three, and were done for the time being. And Jake couldn't blame them. He was happy that him and Y/N had spaced their kids out by three years.
Y/N and Valerie were sitting in the kitchen as their kids played together. Y/N was the closest with Valerie out of all the wives/partners of the group. She had known her the longest and was Alex's godmother. Y/N felt like she was ready to pop being nearly seven months pregnant with the twins. Valerie was in the middle of telling some story about her oldest girl, Jenna face planting down the stairs when Jake walked in.
“We’re getting a brosectomy,” Jake announced and opened the fridge to get a water out, handing one to Coyote who trailed in behind him.
“A what?” Y/N asks, turning to face the boys.
“A brosectomy,” Coyote repeats.
“Got that, Javy… what exactly is that?” Valerie asks.
“A vasectomy with the bros,” Jake smiles, “Val, Javy here tells me that you two have talked about him getting the ol snip, and well if i even mention having another baby, this missus right there looks ready to commit murder.” Y/N and Valerie shared another look at Jake’s explanation, “So why not go through this stage of life with your bro. Javy and I have done damn near everything together.”
“What brings two guys closer than cutting your swimmers off,” Javy shrugs.
“The two of you literally fly death machines together,” Y/N pointed out, “But I mean… it’s your bodies, your choices.”
“I agree with Y/N. At least a vasectomy is reversible if we want more kids,” Valerie said. Jake gave Y/N a look and wiggled his eyebrows up and down.
“Don’t even think about it Seresin, five is enough,” Y/N said pointing a finger at him, and if as right on que, three blonde haired Seresin children came running in, followed by three dark haired Machado children.
"How fast can you get this appointment?"
Tumblr media
Jake got the appointment very quickly. Having already researched an arsenal of surgeons in the area, him and Coyote chose one that they both liked, and made appointments for as soon as possible. They schedule time off work, the doctor recommended at least 10 days totally off work and another week or so of no flying. Jake thought he was going to die not being able to fly for three weeks, but he told himself it was a small price to pay compared to the intensive labors Y/N had gone through.
Phoenix was watching the Seresin kids as Y/N sat in the small room with Jake. He was cursing up a storm about having to wear the hospital gown, but Y/N found it hilarious. She had become a near expert about hospital gowns and always came prepared. Jake climbed up on the small exam table with a sigh, and Y/N giggled.
"You think this is funny?" He said looking over at her, "Some doctor is about to come in here and cut my balls off."
"Okay, you are not a dog," Y/N said rolling her eyes, "And it's just a clip on the-"
"I know, I remember the video," Jake shuddered. He waited a moment before looking over at his pregnant wife, "Is it weird to be sad?"
"No, I don't think it's weird," Y/N said, and leaned over the best she could to run her fingers through his hair, "It's a big thing. It's a life changing thing, really. Means no more babies," She looked down to her very round stomach.
"It's really the end," Jake sighed, "But it doesn't mean we still can't practice." He gave her that classic Hangman smirk and wink.
"Once you start shooting blanks, we can," Y/N sat back in her chair as there was a knock on the door. She smiled as Jake's doctor and Coyote came trailing into the room, "Doctor Miller."
"Y/N, Jake, you ready for this?" Doctor Miller asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be," Jake sighed and shifted on the exam table, "Give me the ol' snip, doc!"
"I think that's my cue to leave," Y/N giggled. Coyote helped her stand up from the chair and gave her a kiss on the cheek, "Val already out there?"
"Yep, so is Bob, Rooster, Payback and Fanboy," Coyote said and Y/N gave him a questioning, "Moral support."
"Oh good god, you would think you two are about to have brain surgery with the dramatics," Y/N rolled her eyes, "I'll see you in an hour," Y/N said to Jake and he nodded, "I love you."
"I love you too," Jake said and kissed his wife.
Y/N said a goodbye to Coyote and Doctor Miller before going out to the waiting room with Valerie. She sighed as she sat down next to the woman.
"We are married to two of the most dramatic men I have ever met," Valerie joked.
"Their mothers deserve an award," Y/N smiled.
It was nearly an hour later when Doctor Miller came out to tell the two wives that their husbands surgeries were complete and they were in recovery. Y/N waddled her way down to the recovery room that Jake was in. She giggled at the look on his face and the ice pack pressed to his groin area.
"I'm glad you find my pain funny," Jake slurred.
"I'm sorry, baby," Y/N said and walked over to her husband. Jake sat up a bit and put his hands on either side of growing belly.
"I did this cause I am a true man and true men do this for their wives," Jake said to her bump. Y/N had to bite back her laughter, "Even if one of you are, or both of you, are girls, you make your man get the cut. Or if you are boys, you get the cut for your wives."
"Okay Mister True Man," Y/N said and Jake looked up at her eyes. His pupils were slightly dilated, probably from the pain meds he was given. He had a lazy smile on his face as he leaned up to kiss his wife, "How are you feeling?"
"Amazing," He sighed and laid back on the bed, "Javy saw my dick, said you're a lucky woman."
"Oh my god," Y/N blushed.
"You are! The luckiest, ever. And now we can fuck all the time and not have to worry about kids. Even though they are a blessing and I love them so very much. We can raw dog it all the time now," Jake gave his wife a lazy smirk and she shook her head, "What!? You like it when I hit it raw." He reached down and grabbed his wife's ass making her squeal.
"Jacob Thomas Seresin!"

I got my first two signed prints!!! 🪲
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like my Playbills, I've got a lot to say about them, so I will leave it all under a "read-more", in case you'd like to keep scrolling! ✨
Also, I apologize for the quality of the pictures! I tried to scan them like my Playbills, but it just... didn't work properly? These prints are super reflective... but they are definitely much better looking in person!
Other than that, I do have one more Beetlejuice print I'm waiting to get signed! I just couldn't resist getting the "Signed on Livestream" print...
-
I'd like to talk about the lovely quotes that Alex wrote for both my prints! I gave different prompts for both of them!
Also, just to clear any confusion... the name on both prints is mine-
For the wedding outfit print, I asked if he could write something Beetlejuice would say in this image. Alex wrote:
Life is a party! Death is a celebration.
Which just... has got to be the most perfect line I could ever get for this print!
I remember back when I was listening to The Whole "Being Dead" Thing on loop for the first time, I always got this impression that Beetlejuice would be the type of guy to throw parties at funerals. Was it meant to be condescending to the dead or an actual celebration? I like to think that it's a mix of both. Having this line on the print greatly strengthens this notion for me, and for that reason, I hold this one super close to me...
For the game show outfit print, I asked to write a greeting in character as Beetlejuice. Alex wrote:
A fond hello from your old friend, BJ!
I love how this line matches the energy of this print! I wasn't so sure if I wanted to get it initially, but I started liking the idea of potentially displaying it somewhere and just having Beetlejuice finger gunning you as you walked by DHSFKJDS
I'm really excited for the livestream coming up on the 16th! For that print, I knew exactly what I wanted written on it! I'm hoping to get the last line from The Whole "Being Dead" Thing:
God, I hope you're ready for a show about DEATH!

Okay obviously any movie adaptation of a book is going to be trimmed down. I get why they didn't spend time on certain things like Nora and Alex's dating history and Ellen's PowerPoint. It makes sense with the way movie beats work to show them getting outed immediately after they reconcile instead of having the extra act of them writing more emails acknowledging their love and fake dating Nora and June to try and take some heat off and Henry coming out to Phillip. Some changes like Henry's surname being different and having a king instead of a queen I know were about not offending the irl royal family and while I'm not exactly a fan of the monarchy I don't really care that much. Pez just being "Percy"? Kinda sad but again, I don't really care. I even understand cutting things like Bea's struggles with addiction, Catherine's depression and detatchment from her children, and Richards being the one who outed them with Raphael Luna as the triple agent - they have value to the story and I wish we could have seen them, but from a filmmaking perspective I can see how they would take up a lot of time to properly include. There were a lot of things I loved about this movie, which I'm adding to the bottom of this post so as not to be a total downer. Overall I think it was a good movie and a relatively faithful adaptation. But also there are some changes I am less a fan of.
So, my biggest issues with the RWRB movie:
Amy being trans is never mentioned? It's literally one line in the book could it not be one line in the movie? (At least they didn't cast a cis actress, so presumably the character is still trans, but we could have said that. She could have at least worn a pin that would not have been hard)
Bea is younger than Henry 🤨 What even was the purpose of this change?
Look I'm not even gonna talk about June we've all talked about June plenty already
Alex already knows he's bi? His idiot crisis is a huge thing! It establishes so much about both his and Nora's characters! Was it really so important to reduce things by five minutes that we couldn't get a quick "wait I like guys???" "congrats you are literally the last to know"
Nora being bi is never mentioned?? I get that without June you'd have Pez focus his affections on Nora but having a thing with a guy doesn't make her straight! She could have at least said something when Alex came out to her! (Also without June you lose the poly undertones of Nora June and Pez which I at least thought was pretty important)
Just gonna reiterate, because the more I'm thinking about it now the more upset it's making me - They erased Nora's bisexuality and Amy's transgenderism and June doesn't exist? Congrats you've killed all the story's queer women
Ellen and Oscar are supposed to be DIVORCED that was IMPORTANT
No inspiring Alex speech to the crowd while they're waiting on Texas - this moment could have been so much more active than standing in the hall waiting and hoping
Alex gives his coming out speech BEFORE they get permission from the crown?? That doesn't even make sense! One, he never talked to Henry about it, and two, the white house would never have risked international relations by letting him do something like that without the king's permission
Getting permission from the crown was way too easy. In the book Catherine literally had to blackmail Queen Mary into letting them come out. You're telling me the king just went, "Are you SURE Henry are you REALLY SURE okay fine"? It way takes down the tension of the climax and also kind of invalidates all of Henry's fear that he's been struggling with the whole movie. It would be way more powerful for him to stand up for himself against a grandparent who was outright against him rather than one who just wasn't really thrilled about it
Why was Henry fully dressed jacket and all after their first time did Alex not reciprocate or what
That being said, things I loved about the RWRB movie:
"And I thought Alexander Gabriel Claremont Diaz was a mouthful" - "He is"
"History, huh?" in the V&A (I'm sad this wasn't in the emails because it means no wider HH movement from the public, but it was really sweet how they did it)
Visibly obvious red-rimmed eyes from both Henry and Alex (though Henry more) throughout most of the third act - just a little detail that I appreciated
Alex's conversation with Henry about being a person in politics who looks like him when his dad didn't have that growing up
Henry full on swimming away so fast when Alex tried to tell him he loved him, no mosquito excuse in sight. This was just really fucking funny I don't know why
Exchanging the necklace for the ring - works really well, great excuse for him not to add the ring to the necklace (for those who don't know, they tried this first but the lump was really obvious and it screwed up the costume so they had to figure out a different way to do it)
Henry continuously playing the piano throughout the movie
"She's not a republican, is she?"
Literally everything Zahra Bankston does and says she is perfect I love her
Mike Holleran is just as irrelevant in the movie as he is in the book. I continue to find this hilarious
Henry differentiating between the persona of HRH Prince Henry and the person he is to himself, specifically the fact that he defines his true self as Henry Fox
The equerry vs butler argument, purely because before we watched the movie I was giving a recap to my dad of the important characters and described Shaan as "basically Henry's personal butler" when he didn't know what I meant by equerry. I'm sorry Shaan I didn't mean it

Part 2 of this so read that first if you haven't yet. If you're not sure, a little reminder: reader is Alex's cousin who's trying to help Dream escape after Alex ate his words about it.
Fandom: The Sandman
Pairing: Dream of the Endless/Morpheus x gn!reader
Word count: 595
@angelofdarkness2468 asked to be tagged on this (reminder I don't do character taglists but I can tag people on occasional pieces that caughts their eye, like part 2's or a piece I'm showing a snippet of, and of course serieses would have taglists if there's ever gonna be a series in my blog).
Tumblr media
Your heart was still hammering in your chest even when it had been ten minutes after you walked out of that basement. You hadn't heard any sounds from the basement which made you think of all the other options there might be, it looked like breaking the summoning circle hadn't been enough.
So now you were pacing back and forth along the courtyard, abusing your brains with all kinds of plans you could come up with. One idea didn't lead to another, though; each time something would click into place but then again nothing seemed right or practical so far. And as soon as you'd get a grip on an option you immediately discarded it for some reason or other.
But then your uncle's scream suddenly appeared into your mind. The one that had scared you half dead a couple of years ago.
"You can't sleep on duty! Haven't I told you already?! Imagine what that thing would do to all of us if you fell asleep, you would doom us all!"
You smirked.
***
"Oh Y/N, you're such a sweetheart," Louis sighed as you presented him and Oliver with fresh sandwiches and coffee. "You're sent by gods, I swear."
You risked a glance at the man imprisoned, feeling his eyes on you and smiled. "Something like that."
They began munching down their sleeping pill-infused sandwiches and equally fortified coffee, and you nodded.
"My dear cousin wants me to keep talking to the prisoner, so please excuse me. Enjoy your meal and lay back, I'll keep an eye on the prisoner." You gave them a smile before making your way back to the man, whose eyes were on his guards, and then slowly shifted to you again.
"Hi," you greeted softly, smiling at him once more. His face remained blankly expressionless, but you took him looking at you as a sign he was listening to you. Also the fact that you saw his brow twitch ever so slightly in curiosity, even when no other reaction came. You looked down to see the summoning circle still broken and sighed, lowering your voice even further. "I thought that'd be enough, but guess not."
You couldn't tell whether or not you succeeded in breaking whatever magic they used to put him under, though from what little you could understand of it, the circle was an essential part and without it, him escaping could be easier. At least in theory, you were no mage and you had never participated in your uncle's practices.
The man looked down at the smudged part of the circle as well, and then glanced at the guards who had now finished their sandwiches and were now sipping their coffees while reading the newspaper.
"Are you able to break through if they fall asleep?" you asked, your lips basically just moving and not much sound coming out, but you knew the man heard it as he turned his eyes on you again. And something in his eyes confirmed your question even when his facial expression still didn't change, and you smiled triumphantly at it. "Good."
His eyes shifted back to the guards again and you followed his gaze to see Louis yawning. He turned back to you, and you could once again read his words from his eyes.
You should leave.
"Okay." You nodded and quickly turned to make a few steps before pausing for a moment. You took a deep breath before speaking softly. "I'm glad we met," you added quietly before continuing to walk, just in time to see both guards dozing off.

26, what would you describe as ooc? For... Lewis, if you need a specific blorbo
(fic ask game!)
in every fandom for every character it's ALWAYS therapyspeak lmao. He Would Not Have The Emotional Intelligence To Say That is basically a universal truth but also i think even for characters who i would describe as relatively self-aware (your alex albons of the world, for instance) - just because you're aware of a feeling doesn't mean that you can articulate it to yourself, much less out loud to anyone else. so more than it even feeling OOC i think it annoys me because i think the way that people try to rationalize/explain away their feelings, or subliminate them into a different thing, or talk around them, is so much more interesting and reveals so much more about their character than saying (even in internal narration) "he felt X"
for lewis specifically: i think that we (collectively, myself included) need to write him bitchier and more insufferable lol. this is something that i get annoyed by for any driver (love and light to anyone who loves grid dad seb but.) but i think it's especially prevalent sometimes w lewis for many reasons, including the live laugh love public persona that he has actively cultivated in recent years lol. and i think: as w any person. putting someone on a pedestal can be as dehumanizing as the opposite! like. the universal human condition is to be so annoying and to bitch during video shoots about how everything is taking so long and and to be kind of toxic about how everyone else on the grid couldn't take the heat during qatar 2023 etc etc. and i think that fics that actively engage w him being whiny and stubborn and petty and a little immature are actually much more compassionate and nuanced and more interesting for it.
(this is also actually the number one thing that will make me back out of brocedes fic is like. if it's too sympathetic to lewis lmao/paints the toxicity in that relationship as purely one-sided. you cannot be like "this place is a freak show i don't respect either of you people" and then make one half of the pairing NOT an annoying freak. u know)

What traits do the people in theos choosen few have?
Ngl theo definitely seems like he'd be the kind of guy to enjoy quietly spending time with someone where you're both in the same room but doing different things, but like no talking, no contact, just in each other's presence
I'm answering this one a bit out of the context of Amaranthine specifically because it got me thinking about all the various people Theo's gotten close to in all his incarnations as a character over the past too-many years. Not all of these characters are in his "current" story, but the through-line of his desired traits in a "chosen one" are there nonetheless. He's developed a diverse set of friends that don't have too much in common at first blush. But there are a few commonalities!
As established, Theo is extremely paranoid and has been burned by people many times before, which is one of his many barriers to getting close to others. A person often needs to have a quality that makes them feel more "safe" to him in order for him to stop seeing them as a potential enemy. Most often, this trait is "innocence" or "naïveté," or put in another sense, being so stupid Theo can't possibly imagine them trying to betray him. In one AU (Fallout), he developed weird friendships with three people (Jack, Frank and Dwight) because he thought they were all incredibly dumb and utterly clueless and therefore anything kind they did for him was probably genuine. In another roleplay I did with him, he very quickly developed a bond (and very one-sided infatuation) with a blind woman. She literally couldn't judge him on appearances, so he felt less defensive around her.
He tends to feel even more guarded around men compared to women for various reasons (daddy issues, bad school experiences, often more physically threatening to a little guy like him, feeling the primal urge to battle for dominance, so on), so it's theoretically easier for him to become close to women. At least, it's harder for him to start off on the complete wrong foot with a woman than he can with a man, where he takes a look at a random fellow and just decides he's a "bad sort" and cannot be convinced otherwise. That said, he can get close to fellas and he absolutely can learn to loathe a woman, as Hyden and (eventually) Alex could attest.
Hyden gets around the paranoia by being someone who Theo thought was dead for hundreds of years. It's safe to idolize a dead man because he'll never hurt you. Of course, Hyden isn't dead, but Theo already developed his imaginary bond with Hyden-as-historical-figure before he found that out, so Hyden got to fast-track the Theo friendship process.
He also thrives off of being people's protector (which is kind of hard as an asthmatic little person whose main form of exercise is lifting heavy books off the shelf, but he tries). The easiest way to forge a connection with him is to make him happen to stand between you and someone who strikes him as a "bully." Yes, like many men who would dare to say "milady," he is a white knight in pinstriped armor. It is very, VERY hard for him to resist the urge to defend someone he's been made to feel a sense of responsibility for, even if his more cynical side is telling him to just leave someone to their fate. Of course, that's all very noble until he ends up resolutely defending an evil warlock from the people whose lives were destroyed by evil warlock magic.
Theo also isn't someone who really grew up having those things called "friends." He tends to have trouble conceptualizing what a relationship between peers is even supposed to be like. Therefore, he tends to shirk his "equals" and instead is unconsciously more drawn to people he considers either above or below himself in station, intelligence, age etc., as that gives him more of an idea of how he's supposed to behave. He tends to seek out relationships he can imagine to mirror familial bonds (replacement parental figures or "wards") or mythologized dynamics from fantasy novels (handmaidens and feudal lords) because those are the dynamics he's familiar with and feels he can fulfill the duties of, more or less. (That said, he prefers people "below" him in almost every circumstance due to insecurity reasons.) If given enough time, he can ease out of those roles and into a more balanced connection, though.
ALL THAT SAID, none of this is a guarantee. Someone could be a completely innocent, harmless little peasant waif who gets beaten up by burly football players on his doorstop every day and he could still just slam the door and yell at them to stop annoying him with all that racket. In the end, excepting rare impulses of charity, he's a deeply unpleasant and misanthropic man driven by irrational pseudo-logic and unstable moods - you kind of just have to be there at the right time to catch him when his rotten little heart is open.
FINALLY, as for enjoying parallel relaxation as quality time, I'd say that's his "default" mode of enjoying people's company. But he can learn to enjoy more energetic ways of bonding with people (maybe a little too much... he can have some serious thrill-seeking issues if exposure to enough excitement brings them out). As much as he'd insist he could only tolerate another person if they have a taste for opera and quiet reflection, I think he could really get into a monster truck rally if he'd let himself get in the mood for it.

Back at it again with a sad song to relate to these characters!!!!
This is so!!!! This is so Alex to Jay, or at least how he would want to be to him under better circumstances. Or at least that’s how I saw it.
https://youtu.be/R2zXxQHBpd8?si=-VKZo5PAshjGBfQM
Song is: will he by Joji
you're so right. This is so alex wishing he'd been able to be better to jay. (tho there's also an argument that jay also needed to be better to alex, and cos sorry its locked is all jays pov so far i haven't been able to show that he was also pretty bad for alex just like alex was bad for him. neither of them are the good guy, neither of them are purely a victim, neither of them are purely a 'villain' -can't think of the right word so villain will have to do-)
anyway, analysis thingy
I got knots all up in my chest (Up in my chest, up in my chest) Just know, I'm trying my best (I'm trying my best) 'Cause when you look (When you look) When you laugh (When you laugh) When you smile (When you smile) I'll bring you back (Bring you back) And now I'm sad (Now I'm sad) And I'm a mess (And I'm a mess) And now we high (Now we high) That's why I left (Why I left) That's why I left (Woo)
Pretty simple, just Alex thinking about Jay and how much he really did like him. But Alex was a mess and left Jay for Amy because he didn't know how to cope with his feelings (and with some other stuff I haven't written yet, but i'm ignoring that just so this song will fit with what's already actually out there for this fic)
Will your tongue still remember the taste of my lips? (My lips, my lips, my lips) Will your shadow remember the swing of my hips? (My hips, my hips, my hips) Will your lover caress you the way that I did? (I did, I did, I did) Will you notice my charm if he slips up one bit? (One bit)
Again, Alex thinking about Jay. But also, Alex realising that Tim and Jay are together now from watching the videos Jay uploads, he's watched them slowly get closer, and then one entry something changes and Alex knows that Jay has "moved on". Alex wonders whether Tim hold and kisses Jay the way he did that last night he and Jay were together, and he wonders if Jay thinks of him when Tim messes up. He calls it his 'charm' kinda sarcastically, because he's just kinda caught up in hating himself for what he had to do.
Because unlike in uni (their uni relationship was complicated, i promise I'll write it eventually, just know that Jay did some bad stuff just like Alex did), this time Alex was the only person in the wrong for hurting Jay like he did in chapter 2 of Sorry It's Locked.
'Cause I don't need to know I just wanna make sure you're okay (Okay) I don't need to know I just wanna make sure you're all safe All safe, all safe (woo)
Alex doesn't really want to know if he's left Jay with shit from everything that happened around entry 47 (in chapter 1 and 2), he doesn't want to confirm for himself that he hurt Jay so bad that he's been left with lasting emotional shit. He just wants to know that Jay's okay, that he's safe, but every entry Jay posts just confirms over and over again that Jay is not safe, every entry posted just reminds Alex that everything he did to try and drive Jay away and make him give up on finding out what's wrong with Alex and what's going on with the whole Operator thing.
Everything Alex did was for nothing. He hurt Jay for no reason, and sure, he couldn't have known it at the time, but in his little moments of clarity he realizes that he could have done something else. He could have talked to Jay, he could have asked for help, he could have explained what was going on. He didn't have to hurt him, but he did, and it didn't even achieve what he'd wanted it to. If anything, it just made everything worse because now Jay's got someone else involved.
Will he play you those songs just the way that I did? (I did, I did, I did) Will he play you so strong just the way that I did? (I did) Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Will he treat you like shit just the way that I did? (I did, I did, I did) 'Cause I don't blame you
Again, Alex thinking about their relationship, both their uni relationship and their one night stand in chapter 1. He knows Tim and Jay are together now and he can't help wondering what their relationship is like, since they keep it completely off camera except for the odd hickey just barely peeping out from under a shirt collar etc.
He can't help almost hoping that Tim treats Jay like shit, and he hates himself for it, he just wishes he could have Jay for himself but he knows he can't. Do you know what I mean. Like, he doesn't actively wish harm on Jay, and he's constantly trying to think of ways to keep Jay safe and alive, but he also can't help feeling jealous of Tim and wishing he'd treat Jay badly so that Alex could swoop in and 'save' Jay. He knows if that happened though, and Jay would shy away from him too, he wouldn't go running into Alex's arms, he'd just be angry at and scared of both of them and would probably do something stupid and get himself killed.
'Cause I don't need to know I just want to make sure you're okay (Okay) I don't need to know I just want to make sure you're all safe
Same as before, in the end, Alex just wants Jay to be okay, he want's to make up for everything he's done by finding a way to make sure Jay lives, to make sure he doesn't have to kill him.
