Long, bony fingers are plucked with the utmost care from within their blood-soaked gloves-- once a pristine white-- the material catching stubbornly. Coat long since discarded, the sleeves no doubt ruined-- he stands rather despondently by the guest-room's bathroom sink, Haleir at his side. Determined for some reason or another to help in ridding him of the ghastly crimson that spattered most of his arms and upper body. A creature. A mindless abomination roamed the streets, causing chaos among the area and striking fear into its inhabitants. It could not be allowed to live and infect the city. So he killed it. It was.. perhaps a tad more difficult than he'd anticipated, and as such, he may have gotten a little frustrated by it. But in all fairness... in all his time, he had never encountered one of these. He did not know they exploded upon death. He does now. Had he the key components of doing so, surely he'd have retched when the half-digested blood of the creature's victims sprung from it's swollen belly and spattered his attire. Hot and rancid in feel, even upon his tar. And now he was here. Had it been that the other had already been at the shop, wondering where Artemis had been-- only to be shocked at the sight of the poor, reeking sap walking through the door? Perhaps so. But now... He takes Artemis' bare hand in his and sponges clean the stickiness from the bones and tar as gently as one would for a Living. And for a long moment as he stares down at their hands, he finds himself... confused. Why was he so gentle with a creature such as he? Yellow eyes languidly wander up to meet Hal's gaze in the mirror before glancing back down at the mess upon his button-up shirt; red and black alike soaked through the material. Audibly, he tuts; silently admonishing himself for ruining so much of his tailor's fine work. And when Hal looks at him, for the first time in.. perhaps a little too long, he speaks again. "Truly," he tries one more time, not nearly as convincing as he'd been the first couple tries. "you needn't... I can clean myself." A long pause, and he sighs quietly, eyes falling back to Hal's hands, pale as porcelain compared to his own. "You'll... dirty yourself with tar--" he tries, pushing once more, voice barely but a croak. "It's... difficult to wash off."

you’re too kind thank u so much for your lovely words!! it’s so sweet that u even remember i was writing that lino fic i’m really glad you’re looking forward to it 😭 it’s still very much a wip so i’m not exactly sure when it’ll be out, but i work on it all the time! here’s a few lil sneak peeks just for u hehe

ᓚᘏᗢ — snippet 1

You stared at the crumpled nest; abandoned, with what was left of it quickly being carried away by the wind. Straw by straw. You felt like crying.

Don’t be so sensitive. You told yourself. It's just a stupid bird.

“Wow,” a familiar voice, soft and brusque and not sounding very wowed at all, came from behind you. “That’s amazing, isn’t it?”

You lifted your head, whipping around to find its source. Not that you really needed to, anyway. You knew that voice better than your own, by now.

“Huh?”

“They were just babies, but they already flew away.” Minho crouched down next to you to examine the remains of the fallen nest. His small fingers brushed over it, so delicately that the grass barely shifted under his touch. “Like they know exactly where they’re supposed to go.”

You rested your hands on your knees, unconvinced, refusing to look at him. Your eyes were stinging. You didn’t want him to think you were dramatic. You didn’t want him to make fun of you. He’d put just as much care into looking after them, if not more. He’d stayed with them even longer than you had. How could he be so accepting of it?

“Birds are so cool,” he continued. A gentle breeze ruffled your hair, like it was summoned by his airy lilt. “They can go wherever they want.”

“Why do they have to go?” you muttered.

“Cause the world’s so big, dummy,” he said it like common knowledge, like he’d consulted the birds himself. “And they’re so small. So they gotta start seeing it early before they die.”

You puffed out a half-hearted laugh.

“You’re like a bird,” you decided.

“Mm?”

“You do what you wanna and go where you wanna.”

“I can’t be a bird,” Minho sniffed. “They fly too high. I'm more like a cat, ‘cause no matter where they go, they always know how to find their way home.”

“Like Soonie,” you said.

“Like Soonie,” he agreed. “Remember when he was gone for three days? But then he showed up again like nothing happened?”

“You cried a lot,” you giggled.

Minho huffed, looking away. “I knew he’d come back.”

It had been one of the only times you’d ever seen him cry in your four years of friendship. He might’ve completely denied crying altogether if the subject were anything other than his beloved cat. His little brother.

“So you’ll always come back, too? Like Soonie?”

“Yeah,” he replied. “I'm gonna be here ‘til I'm at least 100, or else someone will take our spot under the maple tree.”

Minho’s hand reached for yours. It was shaking.

“If you're scared, I can stay with you,” he offered. You could tell he was trying to sound casual, but there was an undeniable tremor there. Not breezy, not carefree; thick and heavy with apprehension. It weighed down your conscience. “It’ll be embarrassing if you’re the only one in class left behind, right?”

You remembered how he’d reacted when you traveled up to the mountains last summer, how he’d turned away from the window when the car drove along the edge of the road, with nothing but a flimsy, rusting metal barrier standing between you and several thousand foot fall. You remembered how much trouble he’d had walking straight when you first arrived at the campsite, strangely quiet, muttering to himself about how high up it was. It was too high, the air was too thin, the world was too far away.

Those were the issues, of course. The issue certainly wasn’t that he was terrified out of his mind. A cat stuck in a tree, longing to accept help without sacrificing his pride. Unsure whether to hiss at whoever came near, or leap into their arms. He’d grabbed your hand the exact same way, back then.

“Okay,” you replied.

He perked up, features flashing with a hopefulness that was almost enough to break your facade.

“Hm?”

It would’ve been so easy in that moment, to tease him. To call him out, gain the upper hand on him for once in six years. But looking at those eyes—round and bright and gleaming under his glasses with an innocence that effectively wiped away every annoying thing he’d ever done from your memory, you just couldn’t bring yourself to.

“Let’s skip the rollercoaster,” you said plainly. “I’m scared.”

You weren’t, strangely enough. You wondered if Minho knew that. Of the two of you, he was undoubtedly the risk taker. His mind was too capricious to not explore every possibility there was, to not absorb everything the world had to offer until he found himself in it. It was almost exhilarating for you, to be the adventurous one, for a change. To be the one who didn’t hold yourself back.

You wanted to be bold. You wanted to be fearless. You wanted to impress him.

But more than any of that, you wanted to stay with him. You didn’t want him to sit alone on the amusement park bench, watching his classmates have fun without him as he fumbled with the wrapping of a snack he couldn’t eat, because the anxiety had made his stomach hurt.

“Seriously,” his grin was weak, but as he laced your fingers together properly, you could feel the quiver in his hand begin to calm. “What would you do without me?”

You simply grunted, allowing him to tug you along to the bench. You didn’t want to think about it. It was playful, not really seeking a response, but that didn’t stop his question from lingering in the back of your mind. Like a part of you knew that, sooner or later, you’d have no choice but to find the answer.

you held your teddy close to your chest, stroking its fur gently. you were sitting on the couch, while your partner was in the kitchen making pop corn. it had been a saturday, which meant you had sloane all to yourself. and that meant watching a marathon of your favorite kids show.

“It’s done!!” they exclaimed, skipping out of the kitchen with a bowl of pop corn, perfectly made for the two of you. “alrightt… we have blankets, you’ve got your stuffie, we’ve got the snacks… I guess now we just gotta get the show on, huh?” they said, looking at you with a large smile, chipped tooth and all.

“yep!” you said, smiling back at them. they then sat on the couch, scooting in close to you while draping the covers over the both of you. they wrapped an arm around you, holding you nice and close while planting a kiss on your forehead. they grabbed the remote, pointing it at the tv and turning it on.

you loved having moments like this with sloane. it made you so happy that they were so accepting of your interests, even your child like ones like this. you had been made fun of before for having these kinds of interests, and it brought so much comfort knowing someone out there was perfectly accepting of it. especially since that person turned out to be sloane.

“i’m so grateful to have you, you know that?” you say, looking at them with soft and gentle eyes. they look over at you as you begin to speak, “i’m just happy you don’t judge me for these kinds of things.. especially because you even participate in it with me. thank you, sloane. soso much.” you say, as you cuddle in close to them.

“hey… it’s no big deal, hun. i’d love you no matter what, you know? i don’t care what you like. as long as it makes you happy, i’m happy.” they said, stroking your hair gently. “and besides, you let me ramble on about my archeology! it’s only fair!” they said, smiling at you.

“hehe… yeah, i guess you’re right.” you say while resting yourself comfortably on top of sloane. they turn on the show, holding you nice and close after they put the remote down on the coffee table in front of you two, next to the popcorn. you couldn’t have this any other way, and neither could sloane.

- he was trying his best not to hurt your arm as he tried to get your attention and wake you up. You were like half awake when this was happening so when you finally woke up, you managed to let go. “Morning noya :)”

- he tried picking you up but since you’re so tall?? Didn’t go so well. It’s not that he wasn’t strong enough, it’s just that his arms weren’t big enough to hold your legs, and your back at the same time. Sulked about it for around an hour with Tanaka laughing at him the next day.

you're both stuffing your faces with food when he smoothly slides his tray in next to yours, sitting down and poking at his food.

you stare at his lips, stained with the strawbery milk he just took a sip of.

Doyoung chuckles and catches himself in the act. why was he so amused by you? he's never cared about a single living soul at this school before.

all three of you show up to the park with hands full of goodies... except, Doyoung's 'goodies' are just his skateboard... that's it.

i feel like it's important to note that i only started writing fanfiction because i read a lot of it but was never 100% satisfied with how other people wrote/portrayed my favs. so i started writing because i thought: i could do better, and i think that probably comes into play with my confidence in posting online.

as for writing fanfic tips, i have a few.

write what you find hot. that's literally the bulk of it. don't care for what other people wanna read, write only what you wanna read. i promise that you'll find much more enjoyment doing that, and there'll always be people who are into your brand of hot, yknow?

care not for being "weird" or "cringe". this ties into the above point, but if you feel like someone might dislike a detail of your writing, include it anyway. i strayed from writing things like "angel cunt" for so long because of this, but it's so hot to me !!!! and other people rlly enjoyed it too, so i promise that the right audience will find you and appreciate details like this.

don't be afraid to use dirty words. such as: cunt, cock, asshole, etc.

and also don't be afraid to use normal words. such as: eyes, cum, pretty etc. even if you feel like you're repeating yourself, there's only so many ways to say one thing.

when it comes to descriptions, i like to keep them as plain as possible. say exactly what you mean :D finding other words for things can be tiring, and it can often throw people out of the reading experience if you use the classic "orbs" etc. this is of course down to personal preference, but the general outlook within the fanfiction community (from what i've seen) is the consistent want to just have the words that you mean said, rather than using alternatives.

dont forget the small details! sweat, sounds, smells, is the character smiling during the act? maybe their expression is more pained? a lot of what i write when i write smut is less the actual act of sex itself, and more so the surrounding factors. the bed squeaking, the internal thoughts, etc. smut doesn't have to be 100% sex all of the time.

dont be afraid to get silly with it! it's fanFICTION. want ur character to cum 10 times in a single session? fuckin go for it. want ur character to cum a stupid amount all at once, so much so that it gushes out? go for it. want there to be an extreme size/strength difference? go for it. there are no rules, and if you find it hot, i think you should explore it, because other people will find it hot too.

edit: also, keeping a sort of scrapbook of snippets, phrases, ideas, words, etc that you like can be helpful! i have my own discord server that just has me in it so i can dump information there for future use.

i think that's all for now. most importantly i think is that you write something that you love and find sexy. that's really all i try to do, and i think people can tell when you've enjoyed writing something.

and for my writing process it goes like this:

have a general idea, such as: puppy sam going into heat

maybe take a few direction notes such as: START AT THE SALOON, SAM DRAGS READER INTO BATHROOM, FUCKING ENSUES, CREAMPIE MAYBE?

and then i just write until i'm done.

i never really plan, although i feel like planning is the best option. all of my writing has been done on the fly, with a general theme/idea that i explore until i feel like it's done. i hate planning, so i never fucking do it even if it would benefit me. and im so lazy..... like... i view planning as me writing the fic without writing it, and why would i wanna write it twice LMAO.

unless im doing a bigger project, in which case i take similar, but longer, notes. here is an example:

it's just very barebones so that it gives me some direction, but gives me the opportunity to elaborate and change and add and remove stuff yknow?

most of my writing, however, has been done by giving myself a one line prompt, and then i just go ahead and start babbling nonsense until it starts to take shape.

Summary: Neji finds himself taking a liking to reader…. but he gets to embarrassed and flustered to actually confess his love. ┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅

Neji was known to be a serious stone faced boy. No one has ever really seen him portray much emotion. That is, until they saw him with you. People suspected knew he liked you. But the only people that were oblivious to this was you and ironically, Neji. The boy seemed like he was very smart (which he was) but he was also innocent and oblivious. “Hey Neji, will you train with me today? Just one on one.” Neji had been walking around town early that morning and you came to ask him if you could train together. This was secretly an excuse for you and him to be together. Yes, you had a bit of a crush on Neji. But you didn’t think you had much of a chance of him liking you back. “Oh, I suppose that’d be nice y/n.” He said while blushing.

“oh, great! ☺️“ You grabbed Neji’s hand in order to lead him to your training ground. He blushed even more at you holding his hand. You were just so… what’s the word? Perfect. You were perfect to him. And beautiful, and kind. You just seemed to get him. For awhile, the both of you trained. Your stomach grumbled and you looked at your watch. It read 1:30 already. “woah! We’ve been training for so long already.” “Mhm. Maybe we should get some lunch?” “Well I guess we could go into town and get something. What’s that one place Naruto likes, again?” You put a finger to your chin and thought.

“Ichiraku?” Neji suggested. “Oh, that’s it! We could go there! The last time I was there I was with Naruto and Hinata. It was so funny because they both liked each other but they were so oblivious to it. Haha!” You put your hands on your hips and giggled a bit. Neji smiled. There it was, he thought. You cute smile and laugh. It made him smile too.

“How was it?” Neji asked.

“Delicious.” You rubbed your stomach. Ichiraku ramen was so filling but so good, you thought. “Alright, wakai kappuru. Who’s paying the bill?” The man asked.

You and Neji blushed at the name he had called you. “Here,” Neji handed him the money owed. “Oh, Neji you didn’t have to pay. We could’ve split the bill!” “Relax, y/n. It wasn��t that expensive.” Neji assured you. It was then that he looked into your eyes and saw that look. Those doe like eyes. He wanted to confess at that moment. He was so damn close, too. “Hey, um… I kinda” he started.

“hm?” You asked, confused. “nevermind.” He blushed and looked away. “we should get back to training now.” Well, he could try again later.

You both were sparing for the rest of the day until you were all work out. You sat on a nearby tree stump and Neji took a seat next to you. “Thank you for everything today, Neji.” “What do you mean?” He asked

“I mean for helping me train, paying for lunch, you know.” You took a gulp of water. “o-oh. No problem y/n. I better walk you home. It’s getting dark.” He suggested.

“I’d be honored.” You smiled. You and Neji stood on your doorstep. I have to do it now! Neji thought. It’ll be too late if I don’t do it now. “y/n I really like-!” He shut his eyes. Just one more word Neji. “ramen.” He failed pathetically. He was too embarrassed to look at you but he couldn’t go out this way. He looked up at your face and surprisingly you were smiling sweetly at him. so tooth rottingly sweet. “it’s ok, Neji. I really like you too.” And with that, you kissed him on the cheek. And for the hundredth time today he blushed a deep red. Before you could close the front door he pulled your waist and kissed you. The move took you by surprise. He deepened the kiss and you put your arms around his neck. You both broke the kiss for air. “I love you, y/n l/n”

“I love you too, Neji Hyuga.”
