I’m assuming that I can include their negative traits of their personalities as well 👀 Also including Momoi in this… lots of analyzing for this hc, so I used my brain here pls appreciate AGAIN these are all headcanons/interpretations of possible toxic hcs about them and only a few are canon

[Headcanons]

Kuroko Tetsuya

Kuroko is the hardest person to find a “negative/toxic” trait in, and it doesn’t seem like he has any

kind, understanding, hardworking, and compassionate; he’s everything a good-natured protagonist is

but he’s only like this to people/hobbies he cares about/close with; anything else he’s quite apathetic and also very passive/neutral about

the biggest hint to this is when Akashi criticizes Kuroko for cherry-picking who the GoMs should “go all out against” and who to casually toy with

and Akashi is absolutely correct

most of the series is portrayed through Kuroko’s perspective, and Akashi is the first direct outside perspective who comments on his actions/attitude

it’s obviously not that Kuroko didn’t “notice”... he clearly sees and knows what these GoMs are doing; after all, he had a conversation with Aomine about how observant he is to everything around him

of course, if you were close to him, all your opinions and issues matter to him

it’s the fact that what’s not really important to him is suddenly now important just because someone he knows is involved

just an example: if someone was advocating climate change, he has no opinion on it until someone he knows cares about the issue

in other words, he has a subtle hypocritical view on things, especially when he interacts with others

another clear negative trait could be that he’s too idealistic or perhaps naive, seeing things in a clear black-or-white picture and not necessarily a gray area

WE know, as an audience, that the GoMs honestly needed therapy and a proper adult to guide their out-of-control talents

but Kuroko, in his eyes, had viewed them as “bad” and “evil” in their ways of basketball until they changed after their respective matches

he’s probably someone who doesn’t yield to other opinions once he forms his own, and this may make him unable to consider things in other people’s perspectives

which is again, ironic: someone who doesn’t have generally a strong stance but once they do, it’s very unyielding, which further proves Akashi’s comment about Kuroko’s tendency to nitpick which to care about

a final hc about a potential flaw he might have here in a different ask!

Kise Ryota

y’all… it’s as canon as day that he has a mean side

straight from the author himself, it’s confirmed that Kise is only kind to those who he respects, and to the rest, he’s cold-hearted

in the manga, it’s very clear that he’s super judgmental on every first impression on people he meets, boxing them into categories based on the way they look, act, and speak

only when they surpass his preset expectations (low or high depends on his preliminary judgments of them) is when he opens his mind to the rest of their personality

this is a very close-minded way of thinking, and I hope I don’t need to explain why LOL

this can be interpreted as him being two-faced by the majority of the people in his school

his way of speaking can definitely be very cruel and crass, and to sensitive people, his words can easily shatter hearts

Kise’s negative/toxic traits are pretty straightforward here, so let’s move on

Midorima Shintarou

his harsh words can be considered a “negative” part of his personality, but I think it’s a lot more than just that

it’s confirmed in the series that he’s a bystander and almost always minds his own business

on one hand, one can say he’s self-driven and that he constantly strives for self-improvement

on the other, it can be interpreted as him being very dangerously ambitious and selfish, in which most actions he takes are for the sole reason of self-improvement and not for altruistic reasons

for example, when he helped Kuroko and Kagami in the training camp, it was under the reasoning that them becoming stronger would be a good challenge for himself to test and learn

that’s not to say that he can’t have friends, but most friendships he’s built are with capable people who can potentially provide him with some new beneficial skill/goal to strive towards

after all, he’s only learned to trust Takao as a friend only after seeing him as someone capable

because he’s so focused on himself, he’s extremely likely to turn a blind eye to injustice, most also likely to use Oha Asa to justify their “misfortunes” as he continues on his day

he’s not cold-hearted, but altruism comes by Midorima a lot rarer than the average person

now, we know that his Oha Asa aspect is used to balance his serious side as the “comedic side” of him, but if we really think about it, his obsessions with the horoscopes could be a huge obstacle in the future, where he may refuse to listen/depend on others in favor of his own intuition and the stars; after all, no one knows everything, and depending on the stars as one’s next source of advice and guidance isn’t a sound decision to commit themselves to

he seems like the person who overthinks and jumps to conclusions when it comes to social situations, but instead of confronting the person, he turns to fate and fortune if Takao isn’t near to help

Aomine Daiki

I wouldn’t be surprised if Aomine had a skewed sense of beauty standards from all those magazines he consumed and from being around Momoi for the majority of his life

of course anyone can distinguish pieces of media from reality, but during the most impressionable years of life, without experiencing other types of people and physiques, he would have limited knowledge on what “beauty” is and whatnot

this probably would be more of a problem in his adolescence than adult

a very given negative trait is his short temper plus his tendency to turn to physical violence when someone nags him to a certain point, seen with how he’s treated Wakamatsu in the beginning (though this seems to almost disappear by the end of the series)

what I’ve noticed in every scene he’s in, is that everything seems to revolve around him and his hobbies of basketball and Japanese idols

what I mean is that everytime we see Aomine, it’s always Momoi approaching to Aomine or just him always being the center of attention; never once has he approached Momoi for anything and it’s always been the other way around

in other words, people have to cater to him in order to get along with him/be in good graces (additional example: Imayoshi letting him do as he pleases to get him to be cooperative and participate in the games)

we’ve actually never seen Momoi’s hobbies outside of being a manager for her basketball teams and just anything basketball-related

he can be quite apathetic, choosing to only pay attention and try in things he’s interested in… which is basketball and those magazines

he seems to mature in the Last Game though, so I’m not quite sure to what extent these headcanons would apply to older Aomine (these also don’t really apply to Puremine)

Momoi Satsuki

the author probably also included this type of anime trope as comedy, but belittling another female for her body is definitely a no-go in reality; I feel like this is something most people gloss over really lightly

her body comments on Riko are actually what made me skeptical of her character at first before the show really shows her entire personality

that being said, it seems that she always takes the opportunity to look down on other girls (especially to those she is a stranger to) as a sort of “competition” when there’s boys around

definitely at certain moments, she screams a “pick-me girl” type of person (real phenomenon, you can search this up!)

while Kuroko doesn’t seem to actively mind this, I think she also has no good sense of boundaries and what’s considered appropriate touch and consent; people can chalk this up to “oh it’s just infatuation,” but this definitely isn’t okay if we really think about this

her life also seems to revolve around either Aomine or Kuroko, and based from that, I’d feel like she’d have a difficult time forming her own identity/life separate from her “manager life,” especially once she graduates from Touou

can definitely be interpreted as too clingy at certain moments, while others may think it’s her way of showing that she cares

Murasakibara Atsushi

most people would chalk up Murasakibara as “lazy,” and on the surface level, it does appear to look that way…

I think his true negative trait is that he has a lack of intrinsic motivations to drive him to do things

it’s different from being lazy; someone can be lazy while still having a goal, and certainly someone can be lazy while they’re motivated by thoughts of “I want to learn more,” “I want to get stronger,” etc. (you guys, it’s me right now in college)

and he doesn’t have that

part of this was contributed to the fact that he’s already so gifted with genetics and thus, there’s never been a goal for him to have to work towards to when he’s already at the top

he doesn’t actively seek out, and while that may be a characteristic of sloth, it’s not exactly right either

he willingly does things if people around him give him the motivations/reasons to do so; a person of sloth wouldn’t do anything even with all the motivations and goals handed right to their face

snacks/food are examples of extrinsic motivations that fuel him to carry on daily life

Himuro is always the main motivator for Murasakibara to come out and watch matches, and he also does whatever Akashi orders in both Teiko and present days // a person who can give the giant the motivation to do tasks would get along with him the most

searching out for a challenge against his basketball skills is something that’s never crossed his mind

why? he grew to be like the way he is because of the lack of results from his “search” of a challenge throughout his games

again, it’s only when Murasakibara gets handed a silver-platter of a challenge, Jason Silver, that actively gets him pumped up and raring to go

as such, Murasakibara is equivalent to a rusty machine, extremely difficult to start up and find compatibility with, but very powerful and efficient once he finds that spark

Murasakibara finding any partner or friend in the future would be extremely difficult because he ticks a different tune from the rest

Akashi Seijuro

his entire Bokushi side was a giant-ass red flag for very obvious reasons LOL anyways, moving on…

it’s difficult to pinpoint a negative characteristic for Oreshi because he’s the pinnacle of a gentleman character… but that technically is also his negative trait

for him to maintain that perfect image for himself and others, he has always carried himself in such a way that doesn’t allow for errors or expressions of “weakness”

thus, bottling up his frustrations and emotions to the point of no return is something very familiar to Akashi, and I’d feel like Bokushi is the result of his overflowing emotions left unchecked in the first place

I also predict that if Akashi continues to carry himself without letting himself wind down and feel emotions on the spot rather than locking it up inside him, a day will come when he splits into two halves again with a “new” Bokushi to deal with his current life (and let the current Oreshi take a backseat in his psyche to take a break from the turmoil)

also will tend to overwork himself to manage people’s expectations as well as his own, and he’s not one to depend on people not because he sees them as inferior or incapable, but because he’s doing this out of habit from being in positions of authority and responsibility for much of his life

and so, he may tend to hide important things or just not speak about his problems in general to those close to him because he feels like he can do it all himself and spare everyone the work and stress associated with them (a leader mentality)

throughout the majority of his life being calm and calculated, his emotions would definitely escape from him in forms of uncontrollable lashes of anger… before he would realize what he’s done… that is, assuming that another Bokushi hasn’t form within his subconscious yet

Hello! May I ask headcanons for Kiseki no Sedai? Their reaction to their girl being cool and sexually dancing (something like k-pop girl group cover dance, if you know it) with her dance team at a school festival (or something like that).

A/N: Since my character limit is five I chose to do hcs for Akashi, Aomine, Kise, Murasakibara and Midorima, hope that’s fine with you! I immediately thought of Loona’s dance cover of Cherry Bomb by NCT 127 (https://youtu.be/s7kxoMYg3l8) which is so BADASS (both the song and choreography) and Move by Taemin (inspired by Twice’s cover: https://youtu.be/QTfzryUBlO0). Reader is in a group that dances to both in one set! Also I’m assuming the reader is in the school’s dance club/group that decided to do a cover of a lit K-pop song for some kind of school festival!

Akashi Seijuro

Since he is president of the student council, he is backstage helping ensure the performances/festival runs smoothly

Has timings of each performance down to the second — and he knows exactly when you and your dance group is slated to perform

Since your dance group had to submit the songs + a short clip of your performance to the student council, Akashi already knows what songs you are going to perform

Was going to do some more research on what the choreography involved, but you begged him not to because you wanted to surprise him at the festival

Doesn’t stop him from listening to the songs and familiarizing himself with the melodies and lyrics - k-pop is something you are passionate about and he always want to learn more about his girlfriend

While you and your group are on deck and getting ready to go on stage (he knows there are still two more acts before you) he stands next to you

Maybe kisses your forehead I AM SO SOFT FOR FOREHEAD KISSES FIGHT ME

You’re Akashi fucking Seijuro’s girlfriend - he has high standards and probably would date someone who is equally as hardworking + high achieving as him 

Besides, outside of basketball he knows Rakuzan has an equally formidable dance program so the boy knows you are talented

Is so impressed when you start dancing to Cherry Bomb - the choreography is intense and requires so much synchronization as you switch between all the complex formations - he thinks you could teach the basketball team a thing or two about teamwork

You go HARD with the tutting at the end before you start doing edging your feet out until you’re almost doing the splits - Akashi respects how much strength and training went into performing the dance break + ending flawlessly

When the music changes to Move he is STARING at you - eyes are glued to your form as you perform

The moves are so sensual and he can see how you intensely look out into the audience - he can sense the sexual tension that fills the room 

At the same time is awed by how much control you have over your body - he can see how every movement is planned, from the position of your hands to the way you shift your weight between each dance move

As your hands glide along your body, he can’t help but get slightly turned on

Also glares at all the male members of the student body who are looking at you a little too intently

When you finish your set he calmly hands you a water bottle while smiling proudly

May ask you for a private encore later

Aomine Daiki

You mention the performance in passing, probably while you and Aomine are having lunch on the roof 

Despite his nonchalant response, Aomine remembers that you’re performing in the back of his mind - although he does get the occasional reminder from Momoi or teasing remark from Imayoshi 

Doesn’t really want to get too involved in the school festival - it’s far too rowdy and he thinks the idea his class came up with for the festival is a hassle (imagine if it was a butler cafe LMAO poor Aomine) 

Probably sneaks away from his shift managing his classroom’s booth or to find you and wish you luck (or uses you as an excuse to ditch his shift for a couple of minutes)

He knows you’re good at dance - he’s seen how many hours you spend rehearsing and how much you love dancing (and Kpop) 

Will sneak into the auditorium and probably stand in the middle of the crowd - probably doesn’t see the point of cramming in the crowded area right in front of the stage

Impatiently waits for you to come up on stage, he’s bored and is sick of the skits that other groups are putting on 

When it’s finally your turn he’s focusing intently on the stage. The instant you come out in a badass outfit with dark makeup and a black crop top he grins because you look AMAZING

The music starts and you launch into an intense sequence of tutting and formations shifts that has his eyes widening in surprise 

now he understands why you always felt the need to drill the choreography into your muscle memory, because remembering moves on top of switching spots with everyone else makes the performance that much more impressive

Proud of his badass girlfriend

When Move comes on he smirks - although you can’t see him, he watches you move your hips and trace the outline of your figure 

Can appreciate the sensual yet serious expression on your face that makes you look gorgeous, but definitely does not appreciate the dumbass boys in the audience who are drooling over your body 

After the performance he finds you and kisses you before wrapping his arm around your shoulders

Scowling at the now intimidated boys from before, he says “Gotta remind those idiots that you’re mine”

Will definitely invite you over to his place to spend the night for some “quality time” 

Kise Ryouta

Kise knows you’ll be performing a kpop dance at the school festival and is super excited

He probably helped style you and your team for each song - pulling out some leather jackets and ripped jeans for Cherry Bomb and picking out a diverse all black ensemble + accessories for your cover of Move

He hypes you up all day about the showcase: sends you good luck texts and gives you a hug before you have to go backstage + will keep you company when you do your make up before hand

Is not afraid to elbow his way through the audience so he can have a front row seat to your performance

Made the entire Kaijo basketball team come with him and instructs them to cheer loudly for your performance 

He’s pretty up to date with current music trends and listens to a fair amount k-pop himself so he’d probably recognize the songs you were dancing to + be somewhat familiar with the choreography

When you come on stage he’s already shouting “Go y/n-chii!!!” which makes you smile and you manage to make brief eye contact with him right before you get into your starting pose

It’s like a switch is flicked - you went from being his cute and smiley girlfriend to a serious BADASS - your expressions are so intense and serious Kise can’t help but be drawn in

When he hears the opening line of Cherry Bomb he’s thinking oh shit because damn that choreography is tough

From the tutting, to moving in sync with all the other members, to all the different formation changes - he knows this is a challenging piece to perform

Gave you his leather jacket (he probably got it from a modelling gig or something) to wear and seeing you dance in his jacket is just *chef’s kiss* stunning 

and it lets all the other annoying boys in the crowd know that you’re his because it has his jersey number embroidered on the back 

If people start shouting the fanchants he’ll join in because anything to support his amazing girlfriend

When you all change outfits and switch to move he is dying

He’s right in front of you and you are making very direct and SENSUAL eye contact with your boyfriend while you move your hips into another body roll

Kise smirks back and will pin you with an equally intense and lustful stare

When he sees you after the performance he immediately strides towards you and pulls you into a fierce kiss 

Spends the rest of the festival with his arm around you, bragging about his amazing girlfriend to anyone who will listen, then he’ll take you home and ;) 

May take advantage of perfect copy and learn a duet/routine with you sometime in the future

Midorima Shintaro

MY CARROT BOI — I swear I am taking this seriously

Midorima probably doesn’t listen to too much kpop - he prefers being able to enjoy the lyrics of a song and listening to Japanese music means he won’t have to look up lyric translations

Maybe has heard some Japanese versions of kpop songs on the radio, but is overall unfamiliar with the genre (context: Since Japan has such a huge market for K-pop, it’s not uncommon for groups to release Japanese albums where they sing the the in Japanese) 

When you first mention that your club is going to be performing at the school festival, he probably pictures some cutesy, bubblegum pop girl group song 

Is putting this into his calendar and making sure he sets reminders because he is NOT about to miss his girlfriend’s performance

Secretly happy because you are putting in extra practice for the rehearsal which means you stay late at school. Since basketball practice always runs late he’s glad he now has the chance to walk you home

Day of: checks your Oha-Asa horoscope and makes sure that you have your lucky item - he will buy it himself if necessary 

Knows you worked super hard on this performance so he knows you’re going to be fine

This tsundere carrot shyly wishes you good luck before you head backstage: “Good luck y/n, not that you’ll need it! Nanodayo…” with a slight blush on his cheeks 

Makes his way back to the audience - he made Takao save him a spot

Somehow Takao got his hands on a setlist/hear rumors and figured out what you were performing and is secretly filming Midorima’s reaction because your boyfriend is about to COMBUST

Cherry Bomb comes up and Midorima immediately realizes this is NOT the cute girl group dance he was envisioning

Is probably watching your performance intently - he never realized that your choreography would be this intense and physical 

Probably not as blushy during this one, just entranced and absorbed into your performance (will refuse to admit that he stared at you the entire time, even though Takao teases him about it later)

But when you transition to the cover of Move, oh gosh, this boy goes from stony faced to bright red tomato

Is 100% blushing and gaping at you while you perform the sensual routine, especially when your hands move across your body and you purposefully make eye contact with him

Realizing holy shit my girlfriend is so sexy holy shit you thought he was staring at you during Cherry Bomb his eyes are glued to your figure during Move

Probably rushes up to you awkwardly and gives you a surprise hug before whispering “Give me a little warning next time y/n.”

Murasakibara Atsuhi

Murasakibara is hanging out in your dorm room when you mention that you have an upcoming performance

“Ohh y/n-chan that sounds fun”

Lowkey pouty baby because he wanted to laze around during the festival and just spend the day trying all the food with you

Now he won’t have his girlfriend to keep him company for the whole day 

When you ask him if he’s going to come and watch, he’ll agree, because it’s at the school and it isn’t too much of a hassle and he knows you put in a lot of practice so he wants to support

Tatsuya probably still has to remind him about the performance on the day of

On the morning of your performance you wake up to find a bag of your favorite snacks and candies hanging on your doorknob

Murasakibara probably went to the nearby convenience store and bought you a bunch of “good luck” snacks to surprise you

Tatsuya and him walk into the auditorium, is kind of disappointed to see that it’s already packed so he has to settle for a seat farther away than what he liked

Thankfully he’s tall AF so he still gets a clear view of the stage 

Snacks through the other performances/skits and gets pretty bored, he’s here to see you and you only

Finally, they announce your club - Murasakibara immediately perks up with interest

Your group has a badass entrance before you start performing Cherry Bomb

You decided to temporarily dye your hair red for the performance and Murasakibara is surprised when you whip off the hat you were wearing to reveal bright cherry tinted hair

He’s watched you practice the moves several time and knows you struggled to master some of them - super proud when he sees you slay those hard bits of choreography on stage

Move comes on the speaker and he immediately can sense that this is definitely a very sensual dance

Like damn, watching you move your hips to the beat and confidently gazing into the crowd, he is very turned on definitely wants an encore from you in private

When you hit the last pose and the lights dim he is IMMEDIATELY walking out of the auditorium to find you 

Sees that you’re surrounded by some newly acquired fanboys and casually steps in behind you to wrap an arm around your waist

Towers over the guys surrounding at you, a scowl from him scares them off

You giggle at his antics because he’s cute when he’s jealous: “You don’t need to be that mean to them Atsushi” 

“Y/n-chaaaan, can we go get food now?” - probably buys you all the snacks you want because he is proud 

Also suggests that you dye your hair to match his purple locks just because

Hey thanks for asking!! This’ll probably be really long too ‘cause there’s two of them lol

Midorima

How I feel about this character

Honestly I didn’t get the hype for Midorima when I first started watching the show. I liked him, but didn’t feel especially strongly about him one way or the other (a little surprising given his similarities to Rei Ryugazaki from Free!) Over time, though, he’s definitely grown on me, and I think I’m finally starting to understand where the hype comes from. I appreciate his character more and more every time I rewatch, and I love his growth and the relationship between him and his team (the gentle bullying, the not-so-gentle constant teasing, and the mutual respect that develops between them). I also appreciate him being the one member of the GoM who didn’t go along with the sadistic Teiko shit everyone else was pulling.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Alright let’s see…

Takao (obvs, I mean how could you not)

Kagami (I love that one scene during the summer training camp so much, and would love to see how their relationship develops from that little breakthrough)

Kuroko (even though Midorima professes to not get along with him, I think their dynamic is interesting and there’s definitely respect and care on both sides)

Akashi (their relationship during Teiko is really interesting and I like how Midorima seems to be the one, at least at the time, who seems to understand Akashi best. also them being the only two brain cells on Teiko’s team I mean)

Kise (these two… I don’t know how I didn’t notice at first but they’re almost always together in the stands during games, and banter back and forth a lot with a kind of teasing familiarity that I really appreciate. they’d be a hilarious match-up, but honestly those kinds of relationships are the most fun)

Aomine (ok full disclosure I ship Aomine with everybody. these two would probably have the same issues in a relationship that Midorima and Kagami would, or worse, but there’s also the added interest of them having a history together, and maybe understanding and caring for each other more than either wants to admit)

Murasakibara (opposites attract what are ya gonna do, these two butting heads at Teiko definitely puts some tension between them, and by the end of the show it seems to have turned into just light bickering but same as above. they’ve got history and I think a relationship between them would be really unique)

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Kise. Now hear me out… I know I said I’d also ship them romantically (that’s the case for most of the non-romantic ships, they could go either way) but just… the relationship these guys have as friends (in canon and a lot of fanworks I’ve seen) is so funny and so out of nowhere, I’m living every time they interact and never want it to change. They’re so different and yet they have this odd chemistry together that just works for me on every level. Kise ambushing him in the stands when he thinks he’s being sneaky and calling him out for wanting to watch this game or that, that one restaurant scene after the first Shutoku/Seirin game (”you’ve changed a little”), their commiseration when shit’s falling apart at Teiko, it’s just great. 

My unpopular opinion about this character

Peak character design tbh. I know people get on him for having green hair or long lashes or looking like a carrot (which… fair), but even though he’s not one of my favorites I can’t seem to stop staring at how pretty this boy is every time he’s on screen. …Until the last game gelled his hair down wtf is that lego clip-on skullcap supposed to be.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Ya know of all the characters who they could’ve had access the Zone… why Murasakibara but not this guy? Idk I’m conflicted bc on the one hand, I think the Zone kinda got the Super Saiyan treatment as it is (as in it’s used as a mere boost instead of some mystical unpredictable thing, and everyone and their grandma can eventually do it) but I’m also kinda salty that the whole GoM (including Kise if you count his Perfect Copy in the Last Game) got to use it except Midorima. We were robbed of pretty green glasses lightning for no reason imo.

Takao

How I feel about this character

I love this sassy hawk boy. First of all, he’s hands-down the funniest character in my opinion. In my most recent rewatch with my roommate, we couldn’t stop laughing at how just about every line from him is some kind of innuendo, and he’s just full of so much snark and chaotic energy it’s amazing. His relationship with Midorima and the rest of Shutoku (especially that bit when he talks about their senpais and how he’s going to miss this team) are excellent, and his backstory actually reminds me of Hinata’s a lot… gets beaten by a guy, vows to defeat him in high school but whoops they’re on the same team. Long story short, I’ve got some serious respect for this character and he’s also a joy to watch every time he shows up.

Himuro (okay they’ve only interacted all of one time, but it was enough for me, that scene of Takao helping poor lost Himuro find his way “I’ve delivered your lost child to you” send me)

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Kuroko. Same as before, I could also see them as a romantic couple, but honestly I just love the bromance between these two. I love how different and yet similar they are, and I love their shared investment in Midorima and Kagami’s development, their conversations during games, and the potential for them to be gossip buds or wingmen for each other or something… I just like the way they get along that’s all there is to it. 

My unpopular opinion about this character

Takao is OP as shit. K he might not have the Zone or any of the other powers the GoM has, but being able to see the whole court at all times? Being able to precision-shoot a basketball right into his teammate’s hand while it’s moving at high speed? Who is he, Kageyama? (side note, Kageyama is OP as shit too). I don’t see too much commentary about Takao as a player in general, but I’ve never even once seen this mentioned. I suppose in a world of ridiculous skittles bending the laws of physics left and right he doesn’t stand out much, but considering he’s supposed to be, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary player, he’s sure got some outstanding abilities and it’s just kinda weird how that’s never really addressed by the show or the fandom. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

More screentime. Not that he was suffering any particular lack of it, but honestly I’ll never get enough Takao and that’s the only way I think he could’ve been improved. Maybe delve just a little bit more into his backstory but really just seeing more of him esp as the show went on would’ve been nice.

Our 'That Wasn't Planned To Be A Date'-Date

And because I love MidoKaga/KagaMido very much, another Oneshot lol I also have the feeling that it got more and more crackier at the end lmao Sorry for bad English and enjoooyy~ To handle one tsundere could be exhausting. To fall in love with a tsundere could be even more exhausting. But the most exhausting would be falling in love with a tsundere while being a tsundere oneself, making confessing a pretty bid deal ( even more than it usually was ). This was pretty much the situation between Midorima and Kagami right at this moment. It was literally a miracle ( and friends ) that even got them both to just admit to themselves that they had a thing for the other. Same miracle and friends were also the ones at fault for them being on a date right now. Normally it wasn’t even supposed to be one. Right now they would normally be with their friends and talking in a, literal, colourful mess. The one complaining about the idiocy of the people there, the other complaining about the one complaining. But when the two arrived, they not only found out that apparently ‘there wasn’t enough room in their group table and Midorima and Kagami had to share a table for two’. Nooo. Apparently everyone had to go home or somewhere else suddenly, leaving the two of them on their own. Well, complaining wouldn’t help this situation right now.. But Midorima did it anyway. And that made Kagami complain. Just like that a new argument between those two parties was created. But that was Kagami’s and Midorima’s nature, they didn’t get along, yet fell for each other. The love’s logic, I know. Once they seemed to finish arguing and calling each other insults, they sat there for a long time in silence, doing nothing more than just looking in the menu with red faces (sometimes they would sneak a glance at each other and turn immediately away with even redder cheeks when they saw that the other looked back. “Someone explain tsunderes to me”, Aomine said, looking from their hiding spot at the two. “Shhh, Aominecchi! You’re going to reveal our secret hiding spot talking so loud!”, the blond warned the taller. “Kise-kun, you should probably talk quieter as well” “Hahaha, haven’t seen Shin-chan with such a red face since the pineapple incident” “Aka-chin? Can I sit normal again? Sitting like this hurts my back..” “Atsushi, but if you sit normal, Shintarou and Taiga will spot you immediately” “..Can I at least order those desserts? They look really delicious”, the purple-haired center asked looking at the sweet cake and ice-cream desserts on the menu. “… You may do so”, Akashi allowed the other while looking at the odd couple as well. The rainbow never really disappeared, just relocated itself. And now they are stalking their friends’s ‘may-or-may-not-kind-of-forced’-date. The rather awkward atmosphere around those two ( and the red colour on their face ) did vanish finally after some minutes and now they just sat there eating their food and having a short conversation. Keyword: short. “And.. How are you?”, the redhead asked, looking at the other. “Good and you?” “Yeah, good” And silence again. “They’re acting like teenagers talking to their crush”, Aomine stated. “They are teenagers talking to their crush, Daiki” “..How’s your food?”, Midorima asked, reaching out for his glass of water. “Good and yours?” “Good” Silence. “Oh my god can you believe them Kurokocchi?!” “I can since I see them right now. Also, please refrain from talking this loud in my ear Kise-kun” As the rainbow in company of a hawk wanted to give up on all hopes, a miracle happened.. “So.. did anything new happen to you?”, Kagami aksed, looking at the other. “Not really, except that I’ll have a piano concert this weekend..” “Wow, you play the piano?”, the redhead asked curious resting his chin on his folded hands, looking at the other with interest. “I.. Yes.. I play it..”, Midorima said, a small, nearly unnoticeable, proud smile coming on his lips. “I like the piano. You have to play for me someday”, the shorter joked, but deep down he was serious about this. Midorima was a little shocked. Did Kagami mean that seriously? “..Maybe..”, he answered looking down at his food, slightly embarrassed. “.. But I have to admit, I had no idea that you would enjoy hearing the piano..”, the greenette admitted to the person across him. “Yeah.. I know.. It is..”, Shuutoku’s ace looked into the blood red eyes of the shorter, feeling is heart beating faster. “It is..” “Yes..” “KISS ALREA-”, before Kise could destroy their plan, the hands of a dark blue-eyed male where already on the bubbling mouth of the model. “Did you hear something Kagami?” “No.. I think I didn’t..” “Phew, we were lucky..”Takao breathed and continued looking at the two. The evening went quite well and both of the tsunderes enjoyed their date. Yes, they considered this as date, but just secretly for themselves, who knows how the other would react. Both of them also learned knew things about their crush ( good example: both are interested in man, bad example: they both were in love with someone and that made them think that because of it, the other wouldn’t be available for them ) “I wonder.. have you a crush on Takao?”, Kagami asked, feeling jealousy coming up. “Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Did he just hahahaha asked hahaha him that?! Hahahaha!”, Takao asked and laughed, trying to keep it all quiet. “W-what?! N-no! What would make you a-assume that?!”, Midorima asked shocked, with a red face. “Huh? Not him?”, the redhead asked relived. “N-no, he’s just a friend..”, the taller said looking down at his plate of food. “..Huh? Now I’m curious about your crush..”, Kagami said, pretending to be interested to hear what idiot Midorima fell in love with. “W-well.. He’s also playing basketball, but is on a rival team..”, Midorima listed a few things. “..He also has red hair..”, he added quietly, hoping that Kagami didn’t hear him. Basketball, different team and.. red.. hair? Could it really be? Midorima’s crush.. Was he..? “Midorima?”, Kagami asked, with a racing heart. “Is.. is your crush.. Midorima-kun confessed first” “Dammit” Midorima hid his face behind his hands. ‘Oh god what did I do?’ Kagami across was still not believing what he heard. “You.. have a crush on me..”, the power forward repeated again, before he smiled. “D-don’t make fun of me!”, Midorima felt beyond embarrassed. “If you don’t have feelings for me th-” “..Who says I don’t have any..?”, Kagami asked looking down at his hands playing with the napkin. “Guys! It’s really happening!”, the blond repeated happily and loud. “Y-you have what?”, the shooting guard asked, not believing his ears. “I-i.. have.. feelings for you too, you know..”, the redhead admitted flustered. “FINALLY”, Kise said loud and everyone else soothed him to listen what else would come. After that, the two tsunderes just sat there in silence, neither of them knowing what to say. “And.. now..?”, the power forward asked nervous. “I.. guess we.. will date? I-If you want”, Midorima said with red cheeks. “… Sounds good.. I guess..”, Kagami smiled down at his hands. The rest of the evening they spent just talking and wondering if those squeaking sounds they heard where actually there or not. The blush they both still had did never vanish even after they finished their date ( yes they agreed on counting that as their first date ) and walking together with the feeling of being followed, until they had to break paths. “So.. See you tomorrow I guess?”, Kagami asked looking into the green eyes of his now boyfriend. “Sounds good..”, the taller said looking down at the redhead. Both of them never really were in such a situation and had no idea how to part ways after that, without making it too awkward. They decided to do a short hug, in which both hesitated to initiate at first, but once they were in each other’s arms, neither really wanted to break away. In the end they had to do so, feeling unusual cold without the other around them, saying a quick ‘see you’ as they walked home, with a beating heart that never really wanted calm down..

“How was your day, (Name)?” Akashi asked, intertwining his hand with hers, making her blush and look away.

“I-It was fine.. Just.. thank you for tutoring me last night about that lesson I didn’t get.” she said lowly, trying to cover her blush with her hair.

Akashi smiled. “See? I told you it was easy.”

She rolled her eyes as they stepped out of the campus. “But it wasn’t easy.”

As they started to walk, she grew more attentive to her surroundings as Akashi was quiet. When they turned to a corner, they saw a little girl crying by a store.

She lets go of Akashi’s hand and made her way over to the child. “Hey, are you okay?”

The girl looked up from her hands and looked up at the lady that helped her. “I don’t know where mother is. There were so many people!”

(Name) sighed and gently pulled up the little girl. “Nobody came to help you?” she pulled out a handkerchief from her pocket and started dusting the girl’s skirt.

The little girl shook her head, her gaze dropping down to Akashi.

“Stop crying..” (Name) said softly. “We’ll find your mother, alright? I’m not going to leave you unless we do.”

This was totally a new side he hasn’t seen of her yet. That she had a soft spot for children. She turned to Akashi, holding the little girl’s hand.

“Seijuro.” she started, placing a hand on top of the girl’s head. “You can go home first. I need to get her back to her mother.“

Akashi sighed but smiled, walking over and held the little girl’s hand, turning to his girlfriend. “No. How about let’s find her mother together instead?”

“It’s Kise-kun!” one girl from the side yelled. In no time, girls were swarming her boyfriend, and she mentally cursed.

Why did she expect everything would go smooth anyways? All she wanted was to have some alone time with her boyfriend without girls crowding him, which was impossible.

Letting out a frustrated sigh, she gripped her bag’s handle tighter and started walking towards the crowd. She hated it knowing there were so many that had their eyes on Kise, but she wasn’t really that upset.

She didn’t like to hold grudges on people. And she was proud that Kise got this popular. Not that she would ever admit it out loud.

Kise stood on his tiptoes and scanned the crowd to look for a familiar (hair colour) head.

Even though (Name) had her head lowered, Kise managed to catch sight of her and waved his hand. The girls turned their heads.

“Oh.. her.” one of them sneered. “God, I keep forgetting she exists. Why did Kise-kun date her again?”

“They’ve been dating for years.” another stated. “But I’ve stuck with Kise-kun longer. Does she really deserve him?”

“But she’s so pretty!”

There were so many mixed comments, she couldn’t even make out everything. Most of them were probably hate comments.

The crowd parted a pathway. Feeling the eyes of all the girls on her, she bit her lip and looked up once her eyes landed on a pair of designer shoes.

“(Name)cchi, are you okay?” the model asked, placing a finger under her chin to make her look at him.

And there he was again with his charm. Something even she couldn’t even resist.

“I’m fine.” Kise lend out his hand and took her bag from her shoulder.

“You don’t seem alright.”

“I’m fine!” (Name) grumbled, stomping her foot and walking past him, earning glares from his fans, but she didn’t care.

“(Name)cchi..” Kise frowned, catching up with his girlfriend. He gently grabbed her wrist so she could face him.

“Ryouta.” she started. “Am I enough for you?”

Kise’s golden orbs widened at her question. She was always that type of person to not be so emotional nor open. To hear that coming for her..

“What are you talking about?” his voice faltered as he inched closer.

“Your fans seem to know what’s better for you.” she turned her head and moistened her lips, glaring at him.

Kise’s eyes widened again, but in realisation. He sighed and placed a hand on her shoulder.

“(Name)…” he started. Her heart skipped a beat on the fact that he didn’t add his honorifics. He raised a hand to caress her cheek. “Are these the thoughts that cross your mind whenever you see me?”

He moved his head closer, so close that she could smell his minty breath. He closed his eyes. “Do you not think of.. how much I love you, what I would do for you..”

She was so vulnerable in the spot and Kise knew it. Unlike him, she wasn’t a big fan of PDA. The blonde took his opportunity and leaned in.

Hesitantly, she kissed back. Though Kise didn’t mind PDA, they don’t kiss much. He shifted his head and kissed more passionately.

Running her fingers through his hair, she pulled away, panting.

“Tell me.. how much do you love me, (Name)cchi?” he murmured, his forehead touching hers.

“You idiot.. you know I’m not good at this.” she smiled irresistibly. “I love you.. so, so much, you baka.”

“Hello? (Name)-chan?” Takao’s voice blared in her ears. She raised her phone up to her ears as she ate her bread.

She smiled and let out a sigh of relaxation. Finally! A relaxing start of a summer. “Look, I know you wouldn’t believe this, but..”

She nodded, swallowing her food and drinking her water. “But.. Shin-chan’s sick and he needs someone to take care of him.”

She almost chocked on her water on hearing what Takao said. Midorima? Sick? Those two words never got along. How was that even possible?

Her hand shaking, she placed it on the table. “Does it really have to be me? Where are you when you need him?”

Takao laughed. “In a festival. Ha! Bye.” he hung up.

Well, she doesn’t really have much of a choice now, does she?

Whenever it was just the two of them it was really awkward. Both of them were hopeless romantics and tsunderes.

On second thought, whenever she was sick, Midorima did take care of her. I guess it was fair to return the favor. And what kind of girlfriend would she be if she ignored him?

Once she was done with her breakfast, she made her way towards his house, which wasn’t too far away. She rang the doorbell.

A familiar megane pulled the door open. (Name) glared up at him and clicked her tongue. “Hey, you didn’t have to answer the door!”

He looked so tired and vulnerable, it made her heart ache. But she couldn’t let that show. Yeah, her pride was a bit too high.

His eyes fluttered. “What happened to you?” she asked lowly. She walked inside and placed his arm around her shoulder.

“I caught my sister’s fever.” he mumbled. She sighed and led him to his room and laid him on his bed. Luckily, he was modest and knew how to take care of himself.

His room was so neat, his bed, everything. She didn’t really have much to do. She sat on the side of his bed and placed a hand on his forehead.

“Shintarou!” she frowned. “You’re heating up. Have you drank your medicine?”

His eyes already looked so tired without his glasses, now, without glasses and ill..

“Of course I did, nanodayo.” he replied. “All I have to do is rest. What are you even doing here?”

She glared at him. “Kazunari told me someone needed to look after you.”

“I can take care of myself.” he shot back.

She rolled her eyes. “So? Am I free to go?”

He didn’t reply.

She sighed and turned her head, avoiding his gaze and waiting for him to sleep.

After a few moments, she gazed at him. She couldn’t help but smile seeing him so peaceful and not glaring or frowning.

She softly placed a hand on his shoulder. Then she realised he was shivering. Kicking off her shoes she inched closer.

She pulled the covers up to his neck.

“Shintarou, I’m gonna have to leave a bit later on.” she said, hoping he had heard her.

Expectantly, he didn’t reply, making her turn her head to some other direction.

His eyes fluttered open. “You’re still here?”

She puffed out her cheeks. “What did you expect?”

“It’s already night. What are you thinking?”

“Whatever. Just go to sleep.” she said. “I’ll take care of you. Alright?”

Midorima’s cheeks heated up at her reply. “I.. I don’t really need much attention, nanodayo.”

“I don’t too.” she placed a hand on his head. “God, you’re so stubborn. For once, just be comfortable around me. I’m going to look after you every day until you feel better.”

Once realising her words, she blushed and looked away. Then she felt a hand intertwine with hers.

“(Name).. thank you.”

“Thank you for tonight, Daiki.” she smiled, placing a kiss on her cheek. Aomine blushed lightly, looking away.

“Yeah, yeah. Are you sure you’ll be okay going home? It’s dark.” he said, which was weird.

But she nodded. “Yeah. I’ll be fine. I know how to take care of myself!”

Aomine nodded, planting a kiss on top of her head before parting ways. He’s probably really tired or something. (Name) turned on her heel and made her way home.

As she walked towards that dark corner, she couldn’t help but feel watched. She gripped her bag tighter and fastened her pace.

Expectantly, footsteps echoed the place. “Hey, what’s a sweetheart like you doing here?”

Mentally cursing at herself, she pulled out the knife from her bag and pointed it at the man. The man laughed, his breath reeking of alcohol. “Don’t act so tough, missy. You can’t even kill a fly.”

She scoffed. “You don’t know what I can do. I can take on three men. No sweat, you old man.”

The man glared at her, lunging with no hesitation. She threw curses at him, swinging the knife on his shoulder, before kneeing his stomach.

Surprisingly, another pair of arms strongly tied itself around her torso, and the man stood up to punch her. Groaning, she elbowed the person behind her and grabbed her bag, swinging it at the second man.

She was growing tired. And then a familiar blue head started beating up the men.

Aomine checked up on her and quickly picked her up. “Baka. What the hell?”

“Oh, so it’s my fault?” she sneered. “I did defend myself, did I?”

“I’m sorry.” he murmured, reaching his place and placing her on the couch.

“I should’ve gone with you.” he sighed, dabbing the wet towel on the bruise on her cheek.

“It’s nothing.” she directed her gaze on the floor, trying not to flinch.

“You really are a baka.”

“It’s not my fault!”

“Yeah! I already admitted it was mine!”

“You know..”

The argument went on for a good 30 minutes.

“(Name)-chin, talk to me.” the purple head whined, resting his head on (Name)’s shoulder that was studying that math lesson. The huge guy’s whining didn’t help.

“I need to study.” she said sternly. “You know, I would love to talk to you if you help me with this lesson. Where’s Himuro anyways?”

He grumbled, “Why look for Muro-chin when you have me?”

She rolled her eyes and scooted. She wasn’t really the type of person to show affection, and even she wasn’t sure how her and Murasakibara ended up together. “Because he helps me study.”

“But that lesson is easy.” he protested. “If only you listened to the lesson, (Name)-chin.”

“Yeah, it’s easy for you cause Himuro already taught you in the middle of class.” she pointed out. “But it’s not like I would bother if you would teach me or anything..” she looked away.

God, why did she have to be such a tsun? She wasn’t good in asking for help, and thank god Himuro could read her well. But ask for help?

“Fine. I’ll teach you.” the purple head gave in, moving away with a small smile, before pointing at his lips. “But you have to kiss me first.”

She blushed. “No. Anything but that. Atsushi, you know I’m not too fond of those things!”

He shrugged. “Well, it’s the only payment I’m looking for.”

Groaning and looking around the library, she gave him a quick peck on the lips and looked away. “God, you’re so annoying.”

He laughed. “Yay.”

“Say, (Name)-chan, how was your day?” the blue head asked. (Name) scoffed and started to walk beside him.

“It was fine. I guess.” she replied.

Kuroko pulled out his wallet from his bag and curiously, (Name) took a peek. She blushed once seeing a picture of them stuck in his wallet.

“You know, you shouldn’t have your wallet out like that.” she said, moving her hair to try and hide her blush. “It could get-“

As if someone was reading her mind, a guy their age snatched the wallet from Kuroko and sprinted away. Silently cursing, she threw her bag to her boyfriend and ran after the boy.

“Hey, you better give it back, you thief!” she yelled, lending out her hand to try and grab the hem of his shirt. The boy obviously heard her, but didn’t reply.

They turned to a street, and the boy clumsily tripped. She took the opportunity and tackled him to the ground, snatching the wallet.

“Oi, you better pay for what you’ve done.” she gritted her teeth, not getting off of him.

The boy covered his face with his hand and using his other free hand, pointed at the hospital nearby. “I’m sorry! My mother.. I don’t have the money to pay for her treatment. I’m sorry! Please forgive me.”

She glanced at the hospital, then at the boy, then forcefully let go of his shirt. “Fine. I’m letting you go. But let me tell you- if you want to help your mother, do something else. Get a job. Use your talent. If you steal but have good intention, it won’t change a thing.”

The boy nodded, saying his thanks before scurrying off. Just in time, Kuroko jogged in, panting. “What happened, (Name)-chan?”

She handed him his wallet. “I knocked some sense into his head.”

Kuroko smiled and grabbed his wallet. “I’m hoping you didn’t beat him up.”

“I did.” she lied with a smile.

“That’s one sloppy lie, (Name)-chan.”

“Look, I’m still surprised you managed to score some points against me.” Kagami reasoned, taking his stance in front of her.

“You’re too slow.” she replied, her face dull with emotions like always. Yeah, they got together cause of basketball, go figure. “But you’re strong, I guess.”

She dribbled the ball, intensely trying to find an opening. Then she went for a drive, which Kagami read easily. Instinctively, she nudged him on the ribs. Hard.

“Ow!” Kagami yelled painfully as she went for the shot. She turned her head and walked over to him. “(Name), god, talk about strong!”

“Oh my god, I’m sorry!” she apologised, which was odd coming from her, but she was extremely worried. Kagami smirked.

“Oh, nevermind. It doesn’t hurt anymore. What did you say?” he asked, leaning his head closer as she crouched down to help him. She blushed furiously.

“I said you’re a baka.” she grumbled.

Kagami held his ribs. “Seriously though, that really hurt. Aren’t you going to do anything, (Name)?”

She rolled her eyes. “Well, if you don’t act like some damsel in distress and let me help you, then yes, I’ll do something.”

Kagami smiled as she assisted him on the bench. “It’s not even fatal. Just rest. It’ll go away after a few days.”

“I have a game tomorrow!” he frowned. “At least do something in my favor!”

“What do you want?” she groaned, placing a hand on her hip and trying not to break her persona and be all worried.

Kagami smirked. “Kiss me.”

“You wish.” she scoffed, which Kagami rolled his eyes at.

“Wow, you are one supporting girlfriend, have-“

Annoyed, she leaned in before he could even process it. And she kissed him, deeply.

“Are you happy now, baka?”

Kagami blushed furiously. “You didn’t warn me! (Name), why?”

“Whatever.” she said sternly, blushing as well.

Akashi Seijuro

Akashi probably didn’t have much of a fun childhood because his father placed so many expectations on him from a young age.

When the other kids were playing outside, he was practicing his violin or doing extra lessons.

He probably really yearned for normal things like going camping or going to the amusement park, but he didn’t have that kind of luxury.

He was also a really polite kid because he had etiquette lessons at that age like adults were always so impressed and would praise him.

As a kid, he wore brand named everything. His diapers were probably brand name, haha.

Midorima Shintaro

This kid, I swear, he was a smart ass from the start. He’d surprise adults from time to time because he’d be all “I already know Santa isn’t real” or “I know my parents leave money when I lose my teeth.”

Kid!Midorima preferred staying indoors and reading rather than going out to play. He didn’t like getting muddy or dusty.

The stingiest kid ever when it came to money. He saved everything that he ever got as a kid in a little piggybank and had his parents make him a bank account.

Since he’s the oldest kid, he took care of his sisters a lot when they were all younger. He would always hold their hands and take them to get ice cream. And if they really, really wanted to go out to the park, he’d go with them.

Kise Ryota

Omg, he was so beautiful even as a kid. You’d think that he was a baby model tbh

He had a pretty normal childhood filled with a lot of fun. Like, his family probably went camping or on vacations once in a while.

Definitely followed his sisters around a lot because he looked up to them. Even if they dressed him up in their clothes.

Kise totally loved going out to play with his friends. It was so easy for him to make friends at the playground and they’d just all play together until the sunset. 

Aomine Daiki

Definitely a wild child omg

He literally spent 90% of his childhood outside. Like, he would wake up at 8 and after breakfast, he’s out the door and he won’t come home until the sun sets. 

Well-mannered, but he was that joker in class that made everyone laugh. He had a lot of friends and they’d always play some sort of sport if it wasn’t basketball.

Omg his mom would get so mad because “Daiki, I literally washed that shirt yesterday” and how are your running shoes already torn we bought those last month omg

He was such a smiley kid with a heart of gold.

Murasakibara Atsushi

Not much has changed except he just got taller tbh he ate so much as a kid, and he still eats a lot of snacks.

He followed his mom out to the market a lot because he really enjoyed that. Plus, it was the perfect chance to discover new types of snacks.

Probably had a dog so he would play with his dog a lot and they’d go out on walks. He got in trouble for trying to share his snacks with his doggy.

Other kids were scared of him, but then they’d find out he’s just tall and harmless and would warm up to him right away.

Kuroko Tetsuya

Quietest kid ever, like was he there all along? Mastered the art of masking his presence at a young age.

But he wasn’t that quiet like he is now. He was well-mannered, polite, and calm as a kid so his parents never worried about taking him places. Other parents would be envious about how calm Kuroko was compared to their kids, haha.

He would go out to hang out with that those few neighbourhood kids he became super close with (Shigehiro ehehe)

He was such a good helper at home. Always there to set the table, cleaning up his messes before his parents ever said anything. He would try to carry the heavy groceries because he wanted to help his mom because mom this is too heavy let me do this and she probably found that so cute.

Takao Kazunari

You thought Aomine was a wild child? Takao was wild child #2. Totally the class clown that probably got in trouble once in a while

He was super active as a kid too, going out with his friends to play on the playground or going over to a friend’s house to play video games.

Such a friendly kid though, he could make anyone and everyone laugh, and could charm everyone with his outgoing personality.

Despite that, he was a good kid. He helped out as much as he could, where he could. Like, as one of the older kids in his family, he took pride in that and would help his parents and take care of his siblings.

Going to the amusement park and going on all the fun rides were and still are his favourite pasttime. Omg, he was so excited when he grew tall enough to ride certain rides like omg he was waiting for that moment for so long. He would ask his mom to measure him all the time until he finally grew tall enough.
