You’ve never ran so fast anywhere before, it was all kinda over kill considering no one was chasing you, not even Riki who had called you a billion times trying to get you to confess your crush. Sunghoon just stared at you like you were insane when he finally caught up to you.

''Yeah I'm sure i’ll be fine, what are you gonna get?’’ you say opening the door to Gugudan cafe waiting for sunghoon to enter just for him to still be staring at you this time like he’s going to kill you. 

“WHAT! It was just a joke sunghoonie.’’ you say fluttering your eyelashes at the man as he rolls his eyes and walks into the shop.

 “WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?��’ you didn't have to see the persons face to know that it was yunjin standing with her hands on her hips like a mother. “Sorry junnie- wait how long have you been here?’’

“Oh, since 7!’’ the ginger girl said smiling. “I didn’t know they were open so early?’’ Sunghoon said looking around the empty cafe, “their not’’ you and yunjin said at the same time.

 You made your way over to the register to order the biggest and strongest coffee they got while sunghoon waited behind you to see if they had hot chocolate, “can I also get a large hot chocolate?’’ you say turning to look at sunghoon, “is that all?’’ the teenager across from you said but before you could say anything you hear sunghoon mumble thank god under his breath. You paid and went to go sit with yunjin who was losing her mind waiting for you to be done, “so?’’ she said,

 ''riki asked me last night if i had a crush on anyone, and obvi i wasnt gonna tell him it was him but i said yes anyway and then he started bugging me on who it was and then he somehow came to the conclusion that I didn’t want to tell him because i like one of our friends.’’ you said in one full breath waiting for yunjin’s response, in which you received very little as the red headed girl in front of you just stared at you mouth agape. 

''Gosh yn even i had more of a reaction when you told me.’’ sunghoon was the one who broke the silence, you kicked him in the shin because he broke his promise of not telling yunjin he knew before what happened before she did. ''YOU TOLD HIM BEFORE ME!’’ yunjin said resulting in sunghoon jolting from the sudden volume change. 

''yes but only because I couldn't wait to tell you and what is HE going to do with that information?’’ you said gesturing towards the 6ft man who was sipping his hot coco. ''touche’’ yunjin said meeting your eyes. 

''What are you gonna do now?’’ someone else said. ''who was that?’’ sunghoon said confused ''a ghost’’ you said trying to scare him, it didn't.

''it was nothing!’’ youjin said moving her phone off the table. ''Huh yunjin show me your phone.’’ you said getting a feeling she was hiding a blue haired girl on her screen. ''Fine’’ she said flipping her phone around to show sakura on the other line looking confused but happy. ‘’But seriously yn what are you gonna do? You can’t keep helping him without causing yourself stress.’’ sakura said over the phone. 

''I know but I don't know how I can stop this situation without making him suspect that something is wrong, or god he might come up with another stupid explanation!’’ you said putting your head on the table in defeat. ''I wish life was like before he asked me to help him, where it was just me pining after him and him not caring about who I liked,’’ you said completely deflating.

''if there's anyone to blame for this current situation it’s heeseung.’’ sunghoon said trying to lighten the mood but he ended up just making you and yunjin confused. '' he's the one that told ni-ki to help you with your crush.’’ he said nonchalantly 

''HE WHAT?’’ the three of you said in unison.

''Heeseung is an idiot and your ‘boy’friend is also and idiot, put two and two together and you end up with a yn in a stupid position.’’ he said, bringing his hands up for air quotes for they boyfriend part. 

''oh yn your surrounded by idiots, im gonna go to the bathroom and when i come back kkura and i will have a plan for you ok?’’ yunjin said patting your head for comfort as she got up, while she walked away you could hear sakura asking why she needs to go to the bathroom with her, but you dont ask questions. 

''you know this whole thing is gonna be real funny when I look back on it.’’ you said staring at Sunghoon who gave you a look to continue, ''You know when I move away and change my name, I'm gonna look back onto this and laugh!’’ you hear sunghoon start chuckling.

“Yn you’re not moving away sunoo would find where you went and drag you back home.’’ just the mention of sunshine personified you smiled, ''yea i guess youre right, plus i think i would miss you guys too much, mostly sunoo and jungwon and jay and jake and ri-’’ you were going to continue before sunghoon interrupted you by slurping his drink loudly, the action caused you to start laughing uncontrollably, no clue why it wasnt that funny, but it felt right, sunghoon put his drink down and started to laugh with you until he looked out the window and stopped.

“Fuck’’ Sunghoon said under his breath causing you to look up and out the window to what he's looking at, standing right outside the window was Riki, looking back and forth between the two of you looking like he solved the world's hardest problem that doesn’t exist. Fuck was right

what kpop girl groups the tlt cast would stan

just saw a post talking about the tlt cast doing kpop dance challenges and couldn't shut up so now i'm making my own post. i know significantly more about girl groups than i do boy groups, so i'm assigning everyone a girl group and/or female soloist enjoy.

judith: she was a wonder girls stan growing up and acts like it was just a casual phase but she still religiously awaits every comeback from sunmi

marta: mamamoo. she's not actually involved with the fandom in any way she just knows good vocals when she hears em

coronabeth: she has pretty broad tastes for the most part and tends to be a bit inconsistent with her ults-- these days it's ive and she is THE wonyoung defender, but she had a hell of a red velvet phase before that, and there was also a good while when she was big into momoland.

ianthe: aoa. miniskirt was the only song of theirs that she knew before the scandal she hopped onto that ship right as it was sinking. i do also think corona showed her the monster mv when it came out and she was obligated by sisterly law to make fun of it but then promptly binged every single thing red velvet has ever created.

babs: a boygroup stan but he makes an exception for ioi (somi specifically).

isaac: he likes nmixx and aespa, but i think he's more intense about craxy and a couple other nugu groups. he enjoys the newer songs that sound like three completely different songs got smashed together my boy wants NOISE.

jeannemary: DREAMCATCHER. girlie is the biggest somnie on earth and has a massive crush on dami and sua in particular. she's a big girlcrush enjoyer in general though she also stans everglow, pixy, and purplekiss.

camilla: was a casual blackjack back in the day but the only gg she's really into is g-idle. she appreciates it when a group has some artistic freedom, and also can tell when an idol actually knows how to rap vs just not knowing how to sing.

dulcinea: nature, gfriend, and chungha. she likes cutesy groups that do total 180s in concept i think nature dropping girls was one of the best days of her damn life.

protesilaus: fifty fifty but he stanned before cupid released. also cignature he really likes nugu groups.

silas: gangnam style is the only kpop song he has ever heard and he is deeply distraught upon learning that there's more.

colum: he enjoys one (1) song by a kpop girl group and it is la vie en rose by iz*one

harrowhark: by and large does not listen to kpop but she saw the mv to paradise lost by gain as a young teenager and it Did Something To Her. i think there's a timeline out there where she's a cheshire but in that timeline her parents love her

gideon: so ik i gave mamamoo to marta but gideon appreciates a hot woman with hella ability to command a stage and mamamoo is four of those. she likes hyuna for the exact same reason but i am especially talking about red/roll deep/how's this era hyuna. oh and exid.

3. if you were to spend the day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do? i was hoping to not end up with this kind of question because i know i'm way too awkward and wouldn't know what to say/do. other than that, the only instance where i'd want to meet one of my biases is at a concert, that's it! with that in mind, and after some consideration, i'm choosing krystal because i feel like we relate to some degree with each other. and she'd show me cool places with beautiful architecture.

4. what is your favorite physical feature about 9? i've always thought her face was stunning. i just don't know how to explain it but yeah, beautiful face!

5. what is your favorite part of 6's personality? i'll say her perseverance (had to check the spelling). she went through the whole produce 101 situation, ended up in the final gg. and then she went on to debut with gugudan and had to go through her company not paying enough attention to the group as a whole. when her contract ended, she then chose to pursue a career in acting. and i think that's beautiful because you can see how much effort she puts to reach her goals.

6. if you were to tell 8 anything you wanted, what would you tell them? so many things i want to say... first, i'd like to tell her to never lose her smile because her joy is contagious. also, she is an incredible performer. whenever i watch woo!ah! fancams, my attention is drawn to her because her stage presence is amazing. and you can see how much she likes being on stage and performing songs with her group. so, all in all, nana you're such a fantastic performer and i can't wait to see you perform other songs.

7. between 1 and 2, whose closet would you raid? ... ..... .............. ...................................... it was a rather difficult choice because i like both of their styles but i'm going to go with suzy, especially her guess outfits. they're cute! and the carin glasses were amazing as well. oh and she's also a new longines ambassafor and i'm a big fan of watches so yeah :D suzy wins this one ^^

What is your top 10 Girl Group songs playlist for now?

Oh man, are talking like all time top 10 from every girl group EVER? Nah bro that's way too fucking hard. Instead I'll just do my favorite songs from my favorite top 10 groups. This playlist will be purely favoritism and not whether I think a song is "objectively" better than another. Also after finishing, I spent WAYYY too long on this lol. Hope you enjoy.

Dreamcatcher has so many good options man. I feel like it's impossible to pick just one, so I'm just gonna go recency bias for the last DC song I listened to and say Fairytale. Off their latest album, and an absolute bop. Runner-ups: Tension, Chase Me, You And I, Boca, Whistle.

Apink also has an amazing catalogue that's hard to pick just one from. I REALLY love Nothing, but I think I have to say NoNoNo still because it's just so fricken iconic and the song that got me into Apink. Runner-ups: %%, Nothing, Heaven, Mr. Chu.

Gfriend, yet another amazing discography. I'm actually gonna go with one of their Japanese bsides, because I fucking love it and think it's severely underrated. Runner-ups: Mago, Wheel of the Year, Rough, Me Gustas Tu, Rainbow

Laboum unfortunately never capitalized on the resurgence of Fresh Adventure a few years ago, but they're seriously one of the best nugu groups ever imo. So many fantastic songs. Gonna go with Fireworks because it's an absolute bop and a great example of their more mature sound after transitioning from their original cute style. Runner-ups: Fresh Adventure, Satellite, Kiss Kiss, Two of Us, Hwi Hwi.

Berry Good, severely underrated group with a bunch of amazing tracks. I'm gonna go with Angel because it's the song that made me get into them and I love the climax of the song. Runner-ups: pretty much the entire Fantastic album and this fucking AMAZING ballad off of their final album.

Kep1er, SF9, B1A4, AB6IX anything with numbers on it really, it's giving the times when you want to choose a username but it says "that username is already taken" so you put a bunch of numbers in it

bugaboo (???), LOONA, Gugudan (???), Momoland, Weki Meki, Mamamoo, Lovelyz, anything trying entirely too hard to be cute is boring, these are grown adults (and if they're not when they debut in a couple of years they will be, imagine you're 25 saying "oh yeah Im in a group called bugaboo", how unserious)

New Jeans is also an honourable mention cause what?? "Oh yeah I just debuted, look up the group 'Striped TShirt On Sale' :))"

K-pop Discography Deep Dives: Kim Sejeong

Here are my credentials: I don’t know Kim Sejeong that well, as I was never that big a fan of I.O.I. (or her later group Gugudan), and I don’t know many songs by them either. I did watch Business Proposal and had some laughs, to be sure, and then I stumbled across her solo career. I’m looking forward to hearing more about her. 

Kim Sejeong, like Chungha, got her start in k-pop through the project group I.O.I., in 2016. After it disbanded she found success working as an actress and debuted as a soloist with Flower Way in 2017.

Flower Way is about what I expected from Sejeong’s first release: sentimental, soft, and nostalgic, very much the norm for a k-drama OST by an idol. I will say, I enjoyed this a lot more than I normally enjoy songs in this vein, though a lot of that was due to the excellent music video and especially the split-screen between her child self and grown-up self, which made me a little emotional, truth be told! I liked the flourishes of strings and especially the line addressed to parents: “to raise a single flower, how much rain fell in your eyes?” Though I wouldn’t listen to it everyday, it was lovely!

Star Blossom is an SM station video that features a collab between Sejeong and NCT’s Doyoung (who looks so young here, oh my god!), and though it’s still subdued, it takes a more R & B / softly jazzy route than Flower Way. It’s not the most unique when it comes to station tracks, but it’s very cute, and I enjoyed hearing their voices harmonize together. It also made me sad that Doyoung doesn’t get a chance to sing more in NCT’s tracks, but that’s a gripe for another time.

Plant starts with the sound of dripping water and Sejeong’s humming. It’s definitely quiet, but is undeniably comforting and soothing. Sejeong has such a natural warmth imbued in her voice that gives her music a lot more depth than it would have without it. I like the mix of strings and piano in the instrumental here, and how it complements the central message. It’s rare in k-pop that we get a love song to someone other than a person, and hearing one dedicated to the simple joy of nurturing a plant is just so utterly wholesome that I can’t help but be won over.

From Plant, the EP, though I didn’t have a hidden gem, I enjoyed the befittingly hopeful slow build and strings in Hopes For Tomorrow, and the sunny feelings and old-Gfriend-like acoustic guitar in Skyline.

Whale is more upbeat than any of the titles so far, with a chugging beat that gives me road trip vibes, though still a very light vocal delivery Surprisingly, the lyrics are about losing someone, comparing them to a whale. My favorite part was probably the bridge, where the acoustic guitar and flutes come in before the last chorus returns with more energy than before. 

Baby I Love U is also pretty bright, and also features an acoustic guitar and electro beat, but I don’t really have much to say about this one. It doesn’t have the same kind of personality as Whale, and feels more like a b-side than title track worthy. Sejeong’s voice is great as always, though, especially in the high notes.

Warning begins with a high piano mixed with a light electro beat that reminded me of an IU track. I enjoyed the humor and bright colors in this one’s music video, especially the bubbly words. Here comes a criticism I’ve said many times: this song absolutely does not need a rapper. Sejeong’s voice and the song itself are strong enough on their own, and ILLBOI’s verse comes out of nowhere, being the only issue I have with this song at all.

From the EP, I’M, I enjoyed the typing sound effects and bubbly percussion in Do Dum Chit, and especially the somewhat synthy, very catchy, and deceptively light Let’s Go Home (which was my hidden gem).

Voyage is a pre-release, but it was the first song I’d heard of Sejeong’s, and what a place to start! It’s probably her best title, taking her clear, bright voice and pairing it with a bubbly, nostalgic track that pulls from Celtic folk with its sprightly fiddle, earthy drums, and twinkling piano. It’s an honest-to-goodness gem, and soon became one of my favorite k-pop tracks, even though I had no idea who Sejeong was. It feels so warm and delightful, taking the sense of community that Celtic folk should impart and adding a distinctly k-pop twist. And I love that high note just before the last chorus.

Top Or Cliff is the actual single from the album, and takes a turn so out of left field that I was left thinking I’d clicked onto the wrong video. The MV is 7 minutes long and R-rated, for starters, and follows Sejeong wreaking havoc (and committing murder) in a flowy white dress reminiscent of her many previous songs. Though Sejeong’s voice is as excellent as ever and the song and MV are pretty good on their own, I don’t feel like they complement each other.

The song feels more like BIBI’s Animal Farm with its coolly angry vocals, story of vengeance, and gory MV, and I think I would enjoy it more if that was the case. I have no idea what the reason was for this sudden total tonal shift (perhaps to pitch Sejeong as the lead actress for a revenge flick?) but I don’t think it takes advantage of her strengths. However, I do want to say that I appreciate her ability to pull it off pretty well.

From the album, Door, I enjoyed the acoustic guitar in soothing lullaby If We Do, the roadtrip-made, wistfully nostalgic Between Summer And Winter, the bubbly, upbeat Destiny, the clinkling of wooden blocks and plucky strings in Jenga, the bright string flourishes in Send A Letter, and the sweetly lovely lyrics and emotional appeal of Over The Rainbow. However, my hidden gem was undoubtedly In The Rain. It takes the strings I loved so much in Send A Letter and brings them higher, adding a delightful nostalgia, vocals that absolutely reach for the stars, and a last chorus with a backing choir that gives it an almost gospel spin.

So, I’m glad I did this! I learned that I love the album Door even more than I thought and added it to my list of my favorite k-pop albums. I also grew to appreciate Sejeong’s excellent voice, which I didn’t give nearly enough credit in my first listens of her tracks, and I added a few b-sides to my playlist.

My Top 5 songs are Voyage, Plant, In The Rain, Whale, and Send A Letter, with Between Summer and Winter as an honorable mention. Kim Sejeong gets an 8 out of 10 from me, as, though she has such an excellent voice and I do enjoy some of her music, I find that it's a bit too overwhelmingly quiet and melancholy for me. This isn’t a knock on the quality of it at all—she’s great at this—but it does limit my enjoyment. I hope she does more tracks in the wistful, Oh-My-Girl-esque upbeat pop area, because when she does, she’s made some great ones.

What was your favorite piece to write?

This is a tough one.

In terms of accomplishing what I wanted to in terms of character, I still really love what I did with First Snow.

In terms of the smut itself probably Experience. While I think Set Dressing might be hotter, it also took 6 months so it wasn't as fun as you might think with the amount of blockage I had for it lol.

In terms of story, I love my idea for Infinite Love Stories and I really hope I eventually figure out a way to continue it for you guys. I also like the small universes I'm kind of making with the Gugudan living in the same apartment building, and the story of Yoohyeon in Stains and You and I.

In terms of twist, definitely Midnight. I really love the idea for it and it was honestly the most excited I had been about writing in a long time. It felt really good, even if the idol choice makes it one of my less popular pieces.

Australia was where you two first met. Your dad owned this café, there was this customer you were really closed to, he would come to the café every chance he got. One day, he surprisingly came with someone. “Hey Y/N, I want you to meet someone.” you were cleaning the tables when this happened. “Not now, I’m too busy.” you turned around. “Well then, I guess you’re too busy to have my money.” “Ok, what would you like.” “The regular.” After five minutes, you came back with the drinks. As you were going to the table, you tripped over someone’s shoe lace. You spilled the drinks, floor dirty, you apologized again and again and cleaned the floor. “Hey it’s ok.” That unfamiliar voice, you looked up and saw him, the extra guest. “Oh, love at first sight?” you heard your friend say. “Hey you! You better shut your mouth before I go behind bars for murder! Ok?” And that was it, how you and Bang Chan first met.

Lee Minho

You were a trainee under JYP Entertainment when you first met. You were quite famous within the building as you were extremely amazing when it came to dancing. Someone asks you for help, and you help them, which was how, you two met. It was another day, another day for training, you danced along to GUGUDAN’s “Not That Type”. However, when you swinged your hand, you hit something hard, it was him. “Hey! Watch where your hand goes! How do you expect to debut if you can’t even see who’s before you?” you heard him say. “I’m so sorry! Let me help you!” “Forget it, just keep dancing. By the way, if you didn’t have hit me, I would have said your moves were great.” And that’s how you and Minho first me.

Seo Changbin

You and Felix were friends since middle school, you both would always check up on each other when you’re free. One day, when you and Felix were video chatting, someone came into the room Felix was in. “Who’s that?” you looked closely at your phone, trying to figure out who it was. “Oh, it’s just Changbin.” “Changbin? Isn’t that your bandmate?” you asked frowning. “Yeah, he is.” “You both talking about me?” that’s when you and Changbin made eye contact on the phone, you could see he was blushing. “I need to go now! Bye!” you saw Changbin dashed towards the door. That night, you couldn’t stop thinking about him.

In every school there was the prince and the princess. You were the popular kid, you had multiple friends from different friend groups, everyone loved you, and of course, you were magically stanning. “Hey Y/N, look over there, it’s your Prince Charming!” that was your bestest friend talking. “F/N! As she pushed you towards him, you put on your RBF so that he wouldn’t talk to you and put another skittle in your mouth. “What are you doing here?” the boy said. “Haha, you don’t have friends who ship you with someone now do you?” you laughed and left. And with that, Hyunjin asked your friends for your number.

Han Jisung

Known for his love for cheesecakes, you and Jisung obviously met at a café. She were seated at an empty table, typing away. Then, a boy came, after he ordered, you saw him standing there, possibly looking around for a seat, but all tables were full. “Hey, need a seat?” you didn’t know why you offered him a seat, but you did anyways. He awkwardly sat down on the seat. “Don’t worry, if you don’t wanna talk I won’t, I’m good at it.” And that’s how the conversation started.

Lee Felix

You were in the airport, you were about to go back to Korea, your home country. It was your first time visiting, you’ve been living in Australia your whole life, now, you finally get to go visit the place you came from. As you walked through the airport, you bumbed into a boy. “I’m so sorry! Are you ok?” the boy said and quickly left. You went into the plane that was leaving to Korea, and there’s when you saw him again.

You were video chatting with your best friend. When you were about to end the call, your little sister came in your room. “Can we go to the playground?” she asked. “Yeah sure, let’s go!” you wore your shoes, and left for the playground. The entire time at the playground, you heard music, you thought nothing of it and just let it be. That was until you heard laughes of adult men. You followed the sound, and you saw eight boys fliming something like a music video. That’s when one boy turned around. And there’s how you met.

Yang Jeongin

You two met at a fair. You were with your older brother, and to be honest, he was quite overprotective. When you were eating corn dog, which your brother paid for, someone bumbed into you. “Hey!” that was your brother. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to bumb into your girlfriend!” it was the boy who bumbed into you. “Boyfriend? Please, no where would I date my own brother.” “Brother? Oh, I’m so sorry!” “Whatever.” you brother said and picked up the corn dog that fell off of your hand. Your brother thought he would never meet the boy again, boy was he wrong.
