And so, with the icons all made...! Here's the full gpose shot of each one that I used! I've done my best to represent everyone, especially since some of them need proper skips to be where they're meant to be...
But-! This is the full cast! I look forward to writing them with y'all.

I’ve been feeling less and less into FFXIV since experiencing EW, and the more time that passes, the more I think my honeymoon phase with it is over lmao.
Thoughts under the cut!
I haven’t been excited or even curious about the new patch content dropping at all. I did just watch a playthrough of it, out of boredom being stuck in bed feeling too unwell to get up and do anything constructive but also being unable to nap -- and yeah... not currently a fan.
Idk, I guess it’s just a combination of the bad taste in my mouth from how my fave ended up being treated plus nothing really interesting in the plot to grab my attention anymore? I suppose I’m at a point in my life where if my fave dies or is done dirty by the narrative, I just don’t feel the incentive to continue  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The new patch content was especially disappointing, as not only did we kick the dead man while he’s, well, dead (which was so upsetting, it felt so much like Lotor all over again, ugh) -- multiple times, too! yay -- but we got a nice replacement for him too (: The new character who tags along (who is also the one who keeps bringing him up/speaking disparagingly of him) is literally exactly the same as him but like. Sanitized™. Idk it just irritated the hell out of me. Maybe I would have liked her more if they’d kept her original design? It was super cool looking. And while I do love her outfit (it’s very Bloodborne-y, how could I not?), she’s become very generic-looking.
(Varshahn’s new design is ++++ tho!)
But yeah, overall the magic is gone :/ It’s always a bummer when this happens, especially when I used to enjoy it so much. It may redeem itself and return to my good graces in the future, in which case it will be a lovely surprise, but currently it holds no interest for me. I had a feeling this was coming, as my engagement with related content has been declining over the past couple of months and I haven’t touched the actual game itself since May, but it was kind of disheartening to confirm with the new released content.
Oh well. I’ll just view this as an indefinite break and hope that, come the next few patches or the next installment, there will be something to draw me back again.
(And clutch Naruto and Fairy Tail tighter than ever in the meantime, lmao; Kishimoto and Mashima have spoiled me big time, it seems XD).

random poppy war headcannons
• while she was studying for the keju, kesegi asked rin about her new scars. rin would come up with an action packed, overly exaggerated story on how she got each one. they both knew it wasn't true, but kesegi loved listening to the stories and rin loved to tell them, it took her mind off of all the stress she was under.
•ramsa would randomly ask for piggyback rides from basically anyone in the cike that could pick him up
•chaghan used to get bullied as a kid because of his weak build, and qara would protect him every time she saw it happening
•nezha loves the concept of makeup and hair-care. venka is the only person he trusts enough to express this with, and he always asks her about beauty routines. his interest in such "feminine" things is still a huge insecurity for him tho
•kitay is neurodivergent, i don't have so much evidence to back this up, but im sure he is
•kitay and rin often make jokes about kitay being rin's "right hand man"
•get it
•bcs her hand was cut off
•ramsa and baji are banned from sugar consumption for the greater good of everyone around them
•rin has the humor of a twelve year old boy and her time spent with jiang and the cike only encouraged her further
•pipaji dulin and lianhua developed a sibling relationship much like the watterson family in the amazing world of gumball
•altan has an irrational fear of arachnids. idk i just like the idea of him turning into a completely different person when there's a spider around
•rin and altan make jokes about the genocide of speer sometimes
•"rin, istg keep testing me, i will bury you in the ashes of our ancestors."
•"what are you gonna do about it altan? tell your parents? oh, wait."
•"you went there huh? see this is why i hate speerlies, mangy dirtskinned savages, all of them."
•of course, if anyone else joined in on these jokes they would get a memorable (and very painful) reminder that they do not have the right to speak that way
•kitay can waggle his eyebrows in a horrendous manner and he uses this skill to terrorize his friends
•jiang does the same thing with hanelai and the trifecta
•ppl say venka doesn't have a role in the whole trifecta reincarnated thing, but i say her role rlly fits hanelai, she was never as famous, always an outsider no matter how important of a role she played, n just like hanelai she is full of rage at the men who did her wrong
•hanelai would have been an amazing mother
•after rin tested into sinegard, tutor feyrick worked hard to quit his gambling addiction
•in a happier universe kid altan and kid chaghan would have a little treehouse with a big "NO GIRLS ALLOWED" sign on it. sometimes, they'd invite the rest of the cike over to play as well.
•of course, rin and qara are the only exceptions to this "no girls" rule
•baji does a terrifyingly accurate impression of quandale dingle and he uses this ability for the utmost evil
•nezha flirts with himself in the mirror
•vaisra never ate dumplings or anything related to the food after the whole jinzha incident
•in a modern universe jiang would purchase like 300 tiny plastic babies and leave them around the whole school for ppl to find
•rin has a distaste for sex jokes, she always responds with a "don't be disgusting" to every intercourse related joke she hears.
•venka likes giving rin mixed signals, one second she'd be throwing the most wonderful compliments ever created at her, next second she's calling her the ugliest most hotheaded stupid asshole to ever exist
•this leaves rin far too confused to feel flattered or offended
•suni cries when he sees other people cry

New Timekeeper of the Parable
Tumblr media
WAWAAAAAAAA I POSTED SOMETHING WEEEEEEEEEEEE
Anw TIMEKEEPER DROP
Lore right under this cut ⬇️⬇️⬇️
So the reason why I say that Altan is the new Timekeeper of Agus' Parable is because the old one was a bitch and was killed by Devin. Altan was created by accident when his older brother and current Narrator of the Parable, Agus, was bored one day and decided to go around and collect codes from the Parable to find out if he could make a living being out of pure curiosity. He finds out he can, but has no intentions on making the thing he just created to life. Buuuuut his clumsy Adventure Line said otherwise. It clumsily floated onto the create button and so Altan was born.
Altan is the polar opposite of Agus. He's more quiet, reserved, introverted, and really well-mannered for someone his age. He's very thoughtful, considerate, and rational too. But he's still a kid. Altan's not very fond of strangers. He's really shy, curious, a bit rude if you get into his nerves, and also quite sassy with a bit of attitude. Altan's body isn't really physical, he can turn into liquid and just dissolves into the codes of the Parable, only to appear in another part of the place. He knows everything that had happen in Agus' Parable, because the place has memories. He speaks very maturely with a british accent, similar to his dad, Devin. His appearance somewhat resembles that to his other father, William. It's best that he considers Devin and William to be his parents instead of Agus, because it just sounds more right.
Altan works like any other Timekeeper, it's just that he's very young.
Here's a bit more to his reference:

Benchtrio coffeeshop au!
I went on a big writing rant last night about this and ended up really liking it and I thought maybe I could share it here! I’ll give a little rundown and then I might post some ficlets, if people are interested? I’ll put it under the cut :]
Tattoo parlour, coffee shop, and comic store :D Ash owns the tattoo parlour, he’s the lead artist/ tattooist and does the piercings. Ranboo works under him as an apprentice. The parlour doesn’t have any other artists, but the place is really small and cozy; Ash wouldn’t be apposed to hiring another tattooist, but he also isn’t pressed about it. The comic store doubles as a tabletop game store as well, thanks to Wilbur being the owner. He runs the place with Tommy, his brother. Comic wise, they have super heroes of course, but they also carry a lot of local artist’s comics. Tommy’s almost always reading/ re-reading the comics while Wilbur is working on writing a new campaign. Tubbo owns the coffee shop, and runs it with Niki and Rue. He’s new to this whole thing so the place can get pretty hectic, but the three work together great and can handle just about anything. Niki’s been a barista since before working here so she knows the ins and outs of working a café; she’s happy to teach Rue and Tubbo what to expect and how to take care of things. There’s also a book store, across the street from the three shops. It’s owned and run by both Phil and Techno. Kristin works there as well, but she’s mostly just chilling. Phil and Techno have slowly made friends with the others and offer advice when asked or share a meal when offered. Phil is basically the dad on the street.

Altan ✨
Tumblr media
My Starboy is complete!
A little gentleman that must be supervised!
Objective and Occupation
- Altan is of an unknown age and is the apprentice of the Northern Star, Lady Evangeline.
- Altan was sent to earth as his first solo assignment to help grant a wish.
Abilities
*There are things that stars can do, can't do, and won't do.*
- Altan can shape shift into animals but can't turn into other people. He has a human disguise that is only covering his ears and changing his hair color.
- They can heal their wounds and the physical wounds of others.
- Altan is able to control the weather. He can't summon storms but he can calm storms, clear skies of clouds, and blow away fog.
- Altan can save someone from dying but can't bring someone back from the dead. He won't make someone fall in love. There are many horror stories about what happens when a star grants a wish from that category.
- He can spawn and control plants.
- They can give animals the ability to speak.
Personality Traits
> Passionate and curious
> Energetic and chaotic
> Carefree but impulsive
> Adaptive but short tempered
Background
• Altan is not a Wishing Star at the current moment. He is only an apprentice who will become an official Wishing Star once he fulfills a solo wish.
• Altan is bilingual. He uses sign language and speaks a language called Zodiac, spoken amongst celestial beings.
• Altan is watched throughout his mission by Evangeline.
• Normally, Star apprentices will not receive help from other stars during their solo missions and are given tools to complete it. However, because Altan's will affect people on a mass scale, Evangeline told Altan to call upon her if things become too dire for him to handle alone (to the objection of the other stars).
• Altan was given the order to keep the night sky clear so that Evangeline and the other stars can see everything.
• In the sky, Altan is close to Evangeline like in the photo.
Tumblr media
*The fainter star on the left side is Altan. Apprentice Stars are dimmer than Wishing Stars because of a lack of experience. The more wishes a star grants, the bigger and brighter they show.*
Little Quirks 🎆
° Altan does need to sleep but only for 4 hours.
° Altan is nocturnal.
° Stars are sexless and present any gender they choose. Altan is masculine presenting and uses he/they pronouns.
° Altan's hair color changes based on his mood. Yellow = Normal, Orange = Excited, Blue = Sad/Guilt, Pink = Flustered, Gray = Tired, Red = Anger, Glowing white = *run*
@chillwildwave @annymation @signed-sapphire @uva124 @oh-shtars @emillyverse I flew to close to the sun and crashed into a writers block while drafting. I can't think of in-between scenes or in what order major events should occur.

I had found being safely tucked into a corner behind a pillar was the most comfortable place for me in the room. The shadows kept me from drawing attention and Doxxah stood only a few feet away making nice conversation with the people around them. They would occasionally glance my way, but never brought anyone’s attention to me. How Doxxah had ever managed to make friends with these people, I don’t believe I would ever know. I felt completely ostracized and alone in this place and I didn’t feel safe to speak with anyone.
My eyes were unfocused as I looked around the room and took in the crowd - the swarms - of people dancing and mingling. Some were holding votives of wine, others were admiring the space. I looked around too, but my head was too full to retain anything that I saw. I had been standing here for a long time, watching and weaving my eyes through the crowds to spot Altan, and everything felt different, slower, where I stood.
I was brought out of my daze when there was a loud banging and everyone stilled  and looked up at the stairs at the top of the Grand Hall.
“Presenting, Duke Taliesin Valdemir Hilmar and his son Altan Hithranri Hilmar.”
I jerked my attention to the center of the stairs and found him, standing stiffly and so uncomfortably next to his father, but I did not see an Altan I recognized. His face was dim, his eyes were downcast and he seemed like he was folding in on himself. He was dressed in black, a colour he should never be allowed to wear. I found that all breath had escaped me and I fell against the pillar as I gazed upon Altan.
Where was his radiance? His glow? I found my hand pressed against my chest, holding the pounding of my heart in place inside me. I didn’t know what had come over me, but it was a painful sensation.
“Good evening, my most honoured and welcomed guests.” The Duke announced. His voice had been magicked to amputate it and extend it across the entirety of the large space. No one would miss his commentary. “We once again come together with friends across many lands to celebrate the coming of the Autumn Season where our crops will again be gathered, prepared and stored for the coming winter. We in Berdusk feel fortunate to be hosting for so many of our neighbors to provide this celebration of life and renewal.”
“But there is something about this particular year’s celebration that makes it especially unique.” He turned and brought his aarm was around Altan and he pulled him up to his side. “It was 200 years ago that my ancestor Dafydd Hilmar defended this land - our beautiful land - from the dangers of the evil folk who lurked South of us. Since Dafydd’s time, the Hilmar name has continued to promise prosperity and protection for the people of Berdusk and I am pleased to present my son as my heir to continue that legacy. The Hilmar family will continue to protect and guide these people through years to come. When there are those who would bring danger and change to our land, I can promise you that the Hilmar name will be the first to defend our tradition, our way of life.”
I noticed the way Altan’s gaze lowered as his father continued. His hands were worrying and fidgeting with the hem of his sleeve. Even as people clapped and applauded his honour and position, I could see the way he shrunk at all of the attention.
“And not only will the Hilmar legacy continue through my heir, but there is a promise of prosperity in continuing the name onward. My son has agreed to be wed.”
Cheers erupted, but I heard none of it. I saw the Duke’s mouth moving - continuing his proclamation. I heard nothing he said, only the sharp ringing in my ears.
I saw Altan, the way he stiffly stood as the Duke ushered a small, girlish looking woman to stand next to them. She smiled shyly at Altan and then to the crowd I ached as he smiled in return. The girl immediately clung to Altan’s side as they waved and bowed to the crowd. She looked like she couldn’t be older than seventeen or eighteen years old and she was petite, and blonde and pale. Everything about her looked smooth and glassy, like porcelain. She watched Altan with a nervous smile. The Duke stood behind the couple, his face pleased.
I could only lean against the pillar with my fingers clinging to the vial.
Celebration and congratulations were exclaimed, but my lips were tight. I caught Doxxah’s eyes on me, they didn’t say anything, but I saw the empathetic gaze in them and I looked away, blinking back the rage that was settling in me.
My hand was on the vial, my fingers playing with the stopper.
Altan…I watched him as he descended the stairs to join the crowd and the way his smile didn’t quite meet his eyes. Was he mine to claim? With that vial, I could have him if I chose, force our bodies together and take him away from all of this. Lordhovid could fix all of this.
But perhaps…this was for the best. This union between two people. She could give him comforts I never could. She looked good next to him, just the right size and disposition. Perhaps I was foolish for believing someone like me ever really had a chance to be loved.
Perhaps this was truly what made me broken all along, that I was only meant to love what I couldn’t have.
Yet, I would look at Altan and I would see the light gone from his eyes. He didn’t choose this, did he? He didn’t agree to this, did he?
I couldn’t bear to watch anymore as they wandered through the crowd. I kept my eyes down.
“Not exactly the news we were hoping for, eh?” Doxxah sidled next to me and handed me a glass of wine. “Drink, it will help.”
“Not interested.” I responded.
They pushed the glass into my hand. “I know what’s best right now for a broken heart, you thickhead, and right now you need a good smack of alcohol to help you forget the pain for a bit.”
I looked down at the red liquid, no different in shade than the liquid inside my vial. Either one could help with the pain…but I couldn’t bring myself to do either.
I handed the glass back and shook my head. “I’m not interested in removing the pain.”
Doxxah rolled their eyes. “You romantic folk are always so melodramatic. More for me, I suppose.” They took the glass and downed it in one.
I looked back up at where I last saw Altan and watched. I was doomed to never look away.
“Don’t trust for a minute that he chose this, Drunrag.” Doxxah said. “He’s not one to move on so quickly. This has the Duke’s scent all over it.”
I glanced again over to the crowd of nobles and noticed that indeed The Duke seemed to be the most exultant of the gathering and the one who continued to push Altan towards the girl. I was too far to tell, but I could have sworn I saw Altan’s eyes shifting and looking out, as if he were scanning the crowd, looking for someone.
Possibly me? I could only hope.
“Excuse me?” A voice broke through.
Doxxah and I both turned to see a young boy - an adolescent, no more than fifteen - standing before us. I jerked back when I recognized that it was Altan’s younger brother.
“Selhar!” Doxxah exclaimed. “A pleasant surprise.” They lowered themselves to meet the boy’s height and said softly, “What can I do for you?”
Selhar darted their attention between Doxxah and myself and finally shuffled towards me. “Actually…I was hoping I could speak with you.” He looked up at me, eyes nervous and expectant.
I felt my own eyes widen in surprise and I quickly darted to Doxxah for guidance. But they were no help as they only shrugged and stepped back, letting the boy approach me.
I bent my knees and leaned down to the boys level. “How may I serve you?” I asked, formally.
His eyes were on me, taking in every detail of my face. It usually was uncomfortable for me to be so closely observed, but Selhar’s eyes were not so far from mine and I could read his reactions so carefully. His lips parted, a look of awe as he took in my rough skin, marred with scars from my childhood days, my tusks that protruded from my lower lip. I waited for the awe to transform into fear, but he took a step forward with a look of determination on his face. His hands were clutching each other tightly. ‘Are you the one my brother loves?”
I felt a shudder, a cool shudder run down my spine. It felt like a small little vibration that if it spoke would whisper yes, yes, yes, that is me at those words. I was stunned that he knew me.
I hesitated but finally gave the boy a slight nod.
Selhar’s eyes widened and he broke into a nervous smile. His smile reminded me of Altan’s making me ache inside. “I knew it. I saw you from over there and I just knew it was you. You know, you’re all he talks about when he’s alone.”
Another trill of pleasure and affirmation coursed down my spine, “Really?” I asked.
He nodded and swiveled to look over to where his brother was, “He’s…I don’t…” He paused, collecting his words. “Don’t let him marry her. Please.”
I looked at this boy - so close to becoming a man - who looked so much like his brother in many ways but also possessed an array of qualities that made him totally different - and I beheld how courageous he was for coming here to speak with me.
I nodded, “I will do my best.”
He shook his head. “No, please. If you don’t take him away, my father will control him for the rest of his life. I don’t want that. My father doesn’t understand my brother, he won’t ever.”
He appeared to be pleading at me and I wasn’t sure what to say, what to even do. If he only knew how badly I wanted to stop any wedding from happening for Altan. How close I was coming to downing the vial around my neck and letting my lordhovid control me and overtake us both and breaking everything in my path to get to him.
“I don’t know what to do.” I finally said.
His eyes fell and he nodded, “I understand what you mean.” We both gazed in Altan’s direction. “Can you at least promise me that you’re not going to hurt him or forget him? No matter what happens?”
I hadn’t pondered anything quite to this extreme when it came to Altan. I knew there was something pulling me to him. Something I desired in him. Even with lordhovid gone between us, I still felt a deeper, more deep pull that melded my soul to his. Something about it all scared me profoundly. But I also understood that part of that entailed my desire to never hurt him, to never lie to him. I could never forget him, not in all of the days I had left in this mortal life. I was doomed to remember him - only him.
I nodded my head, “I promise, young lord.”
I felt relief as he broke into a smile. “That will make him happy, thank you.”
Doxxah cleared their throat then, “Selhar, you best get back to your father. He appears to be looking for you.”
Selhar’s back straightened and he gave me one last pressing stare before turning back and weaving through the crowd. I watched him sidle up to his father’s side and with nothing more than a few words was left alone by his father and everyone else.
I somehow knew what it was like to be Selhar. I was neither the oldest or youngest, and I often found myself drifting between being too much in the way or completely invisible. But I saw the way Selhar’s eyes watched and took in everything around him. He was more aware of the reality of the situation than probably anyone realized.
Altan reached for his brother and the two conversed for a moment and my heart stopped when I saw Selhar lift his hand to point towards me.
Altan’s eyes lifted and met mine. I felt the weight, the distance between us and knew he felt it too. In so little time we had found each other’s presence to be more desirable than any other person’s, but there was so much between us keeping us apart. I wished that things could have been simpler for us. Maybe if I had trusted our lordhovid I would have been better at keeping him near me. I wondered how our lives would be different if I had acted sooner.
I kept hoping to see his eyes brighten, but they only returned to me with a dim grief.
“What do I do?” I breathed out and I looked to Doxxah.
“You fight for him,” Doxxah answered, their eyes holding me in their gaze. “You fight for him no matter the odds.”

poppy war thoughts, aka this book was so bad it made me want to get a goodreads account just so i can shit on it in an official capacity
so what initially sold me on this book, is that despite my friend ellis absolutely hating rf kuang's babel, ive only ever seen raving reviews for it anywhere else, and a brief description of its magic system reminded me of gergő és az álomfogók. i love that mainstream fantasy is finally starting to rely on drawing from cultures other than the sort of western mainstream and i was actually super excited to get into it. well it sucked (this contains spoilers obviously)
its 11 am this is not gonna be very structured but let me start off by listing some things i did enjoy. first of all its low hanging fruit and im better than this so im only gonna shit on tpw for being so directly about the sino chinese war that the only actual interesting bits of exposition in the book was what was just a description of actual events a Little bit. listen lotr is about ww2. its fine its all fine. anyway, i had fun with the bits of worldbuilding that were yk, actually worldbuilding. the magic system was really interesting and just super not explored enough, the book handled drug addiction about as sensitively as the dare program, but nevertheless it was a cool concept. shamans who have to get high as hell do do anything and then putting those guys in a combat setting is crazy. really fun concept. speaking of shamans i loved jiang. his archetype is impossible to fuck up and he was loveable and fun till the very end. uhh what else. the fight descriptions were good its something kuangs is decent at, as someone whos watched just truly an inordinate amount of wuxia as a child i rly can appreciate a stupid convoluted fight scene. oh i found it hysterical that the west was just one country that was really fun.
NOW ONTO THE SHIT I HATED
rin is incredibly unlikeable i know its not the point of every book ok but tpw isnt good enough to have a protagonist who is just impossible to relate to this isnt 1984 okay this is contemporary ya. i GET that she sucks and thats the point but im supposed to emphatize with her and throughout the book she just seemed stupid and easy to manipulate and not very interesting. shes an incredibly shallow character which is i guess what happens when you base your ya teenage girl protagonist on CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY MAO ZEDONG. HELLO. anyway. all her personal relationships are very much carried by the strenght of the characters close to her, and because most characters in this book are not very interesting that makes for a shitty fucking protagonist.
most of the conflict in this book is extremely artificially generated until maybe the second half of part 3. everyone in rins life is unnessecarily mean to her because shes just so smart and good at things. the part where they accused her of cheating on the exams and she owned them like crazy came to define much of the book. some kind of mean cunt whose purpose in life is to cause misery is an asshole to rin bc shes so smart and strong and talented, and she owns them with a witty remark. she punches nezha on the first day of school for fucks sake.
speaking of the school, the majority of the book is spent at sinegard academy and it is an extremely predictable and dull affair. i long for the wizard of earthsea. kuang is not a very good writer on a technical level and everything that she tries to imply she ends up spelling out (usually by having a character say it out loud) only a couple pages later. you can get through 2/3rds of this book by just reading every other page and correctly guessing what has happened and what will happen. in possibly the funniest paragraph of part 2, rin thinks about how everybody thinks altan is the coolest guy and yet he has no friends and at this point shes been experiencing quite severe racism from all of her peers and then instead of leaving you to figure out the quite obvious conclusion kuang literally has her say "oh his skin is dark and mine is too. i wonder if he knows what racism is like" just, truly hysterical.
her feud with nezha is unbearable, i knew immediately that he would become a romantic interest because a ya protagonist cannot hate a boy for perfectly good reasons. it always has to be bc shes horny. anyways thankfully when she starts studying with jiang, jiang is there and the terrible dullness of it all is lifted somewhat
as i mentioned before, the actual historical elements in the book elevate it greatly and the third part is almost enjoyable in some sections. however, unfortunately, this is also the part of the book where rin and altans darkling situation begins. i have a sinking feeling altan may not have died, which sucks because i hated this bit. they have virtually no relationship to eachother except altan yelling at rin occasionally. now again there were bits and pieces of their relationship that i didnt quite hate, but honestly i still dont entirely buy the rin is a seerly thing emotionally because she is so detached from it. the revelation only seemed to shock her a little bit and then she was busy with being at war and her boss hating her, when she actually gains the power of the phoenix at the very end its her own hatred and egoism fueling her rather than any connection to her people. overall this again comes back to her being quite weak as a character, and the worldbuilding suffers as a result of that
in any case, ill mull over continuing the series. the ending was actually quite strong i love a genocide as a result of being a stupid fucking 19 year old (dont quote me on this please), so maybe the next one is better maybe ms kuang learned to write inbetween these 2.

Oh, you mean this guy? This freak right here? This character the Bubble Comics writing team made in a lab by stitching together every bishie who got a whiff of the citrus scale circa 2005? Yeah, he’s all right and we’re all so normal about him. Keeps trying his best to stop all the crime in St. Petersburg, which is going to be difficult because he is also the most prolific criminal in St. Petersburg and he will never stop. There are two wolves inside him and one of them is his boyfriend.
