I finally get to try a different medication for ADHD via my NP primary care because I explained to her that I’m weeks behind on work, but also I literally have an autoimmune disease that causes open wounds that need frequent care and guess what executive dysfunction and memory problems make really hard to do?
I love having to beg for help using the most extreme versions of my problems via ADHD because my regular day comfort and being able to function just don’t matter.

One day, I'll finally go see a specialist about my sinus issues instead of dealing with all of this nasty shit whenever the weather changes/I stumble on an allergy trigger/etc. Alas, I live in the US, so I'm fully aware that it'll be a nasty, expensive sequence of events with probably multiple instances of "I'm sensitive to medication, no, I can't take that, no, seriously, I can't take that."
Strange life tip: if you ever want a doctor to prescribe you medication, ask for non-medication options. Seems to work every time!

Does anyone else with BPD just feel like a scientist specializing in ur brain/behavior?
Like I kno intellectualizing every feeling is bad, but it’s also difficult bc I actually need to intellectualize to be present in what I perceive is the real reality. Bc BPD reality is pure emotion rooted in pain and trauma. That type of reality is very very powerful and so I must fight back in order to not get consumed by it.
Anyway I’m also aware of still being balanced and feeling my feelings and all that. I still have trouble with judging my feelings and thoughts. I’m still a secretive person bc I’m still not very sure how to work with my feelings. But in conclusion: I think I depend more on intellectualizing my feelings/thoughts than any other tool because that one feels the most reliable. I would like other avenues though of existing with BPD outside of just that. Bc also I’m wary of over “rationalizing” bc that can b a slippery slope into western science methods which are rooted in colonialism and white supremacy.
Lol anyway long tangeant: but ya I also just don’t trust any professionals to help me anymore tbh. At least in this country, I can’t speak on others. Had I stayed in that inpatient last year I would’ve been so absolutely fucked up in the head. I’m so glad I left early. It definitely feels pretty desolate in terms of getting proper treatment, so I guess I’m like taking on that role for myself since there’s not many options for seeking help for BPD specifically.

My choice if I wanted to get flu/Covid shots this year was to pay out of pocket ($200 or more) or go to the once a week clinic from my health care "provider" which involved a half an hour drive there, then standing in line for 1 and a half then driving back half an hour.
And I can do that because I wfh and I have a car. But if I had to take the bus there, that's another hour to get there at least. And then STANDING in line because there were only benches and seats at the exterior part of the queue (which were also wet from the rain) so all the old people and disabled people in line... fuck 'em I guess. (I had no hip problems today so I was okay.)
Because this health care "provider" (Kaiser. It was Kaiser) won't work with any other pharmacies to cover flu or Covid (or RSV) vaccinations and won't reimburse people who get them elsewhere either.
Hate this fucking country.

'Remote Area Medical' Exclusive Interview with Jeff Reichert and Farihah Zaman
“Remote Area Medical” focuses on the non-profit medical provider of the same name, better known as RAM, when they opened a three-day clinic held at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, and we watch as hundreds wait by their cars in the hopes of getting the kind of health care they never have any easy access to. While there has been an endless debate in the United States about how to handle…

the least hospitals could do

If there’s something wrong with my health, I hope it kills me quickly and painlessly bc I don’t have health insurance.
The US doesn’t give a shit about its citizens. Our health care is a fucking joke.

Stressful, horrible two days of driving, $600+ in hotel/gas/etc., frequent exposure to Covid because no one is masked anywhere, all for a ten minute appointment so my dermatologist and insurance will still prescribe the seven thousand dollar medication to suppress my immune system so my autoimmune disease doesn’t rot all of my skin off. Oh, and that same dermatologist won’t sign a paper saying I’m disabled because he thinks living with constant infections, being a huge risk of dying of Covid, and still getting gaping wounds all over my body isn’t debilitating enough.
The American health care system works! 👍

Hey there,I saw your post on your inhaler pricing and just wanted to let you know that there's a website/app called GOODRX that helps with getting discounts on various perscriptions and things. There's no catch to it or anything and you can 'shop around' for different prices at whatever pharamacies/stores you get your perscription filled at or even other areas nearby. I've used it before and it's a very simple website/app with no bells and whistels or paywalls. But yeah, hope that helps to some degree and that you stay safe. Best wishes.
I use GoodRx. That was the price with my Walmart discount card(husband works for them and since we are married I get one too). GoodRx would have only taken $1 off of it. Funny enough the reason it was so pricey was because this inhaler was a different brand and thus more expensive.
But yeah, for my fellow punks with no insurance Anon is right. GoodRx is fucking amazing and I highly encourage people to run their meds through it. I know Walmart, CVS and RiteAid all take it.

I’m really writing a whole damn essay to “prove” to my psychiatrist that I have adhd so I can get meds and get my life straightened up !!!
Literally did this with both my bipolar2 and BPD diagnoses. I had to write a long extensive list for anyone to take me seriously. It basically felt like I was diagnosing myself and the psych just being like ya ok I’ll write ur diagnosis in ur chart. And then we’d talk abt medication if it applied.
They’re really just there to give me meds lol. They r so useless. At least in my experience with my shitty insurance.
OVER IT🙄🙄🙄

I’m so fucking annoyed right now! This is the 5th time I put in hard work and saved to buy myself an iPad. And now I again have to dip into my savings jar to bake my ass out cause my account is overdrawn. Fuck these medical bills and fuck the American health care system! I literally can’t afford to live! This is bullshit! I just wanted to do something nice for myself, but I guess that’s never going to happen. 😭
Christmas and Yuletide gifts might have to be homemade this year besties. But I’ll make sure to put a lot of work into them so they’re perfect!

Executive summary I recently asked my readers to tell me about their chronic health conditions. The single most important conclusion is this In all 58 conditions we asked about where we had sufficient data to compute an odds ratio, the vaccine always made the condition worse. Miller’s Review ... Miller, Neil Z. Best Price: $8.32 Buy New $14.48 (as of 04:45 UTC - Details) In other words, the medical community has gotten it backwards for decades. When you combine this with the realization that vaccines provide a benefit that is too small to measure as described here for the highly acclaimed … Continue reading →
