What if Gabriel couldn't control Gimmi?

Idea that's been rattling in my head since the finale of season 5

"Tikki, Plagg, unite!"

He had done it! He had finally gotten both miraculous! Now, he could make his wish a reality!

As Gabriel thought this, Plagg and Tikki merged into one, forming the true form of Gimmi.

The massive purple kwami stared down at him, then spoke.

"We are Gimmi, the kwami of reality. What is it you require of us?"

Gabriel smirked. "I want my greatest desire to be granted." Gabriel bowed slightly. "With the cost of my life."

Next thing Gabriel knew, he felt extreme pain in his head. Worse than the effects of the Cataclysm.

"We decide the price of the wish, mortal!" Gimmi yelled, seemingly from all around him.

After catching his breath, Gabriel spoke.

"I summoned you! I control you!" Gabriel glared at Gimmi.

Gimmi gave an unimpressed stare back.

"You use our power, yes. But holding our miraculi does NOT give you the ability to say how they work." Gimmi rose so they were not eye level anymore. "The universe requires a balance. So, the price is something of equal value from you."

Gabriel glared at the Kwami. "The grimore-"

"The grimore says a kwami is summoned with a miraculous. And yet, we require 2 miraculi. So, clearly, we are the exception."

Gabriel wanted to say something, but he started going into a coughing fit.

"You may want to stop arguing, as you do not have much time left."

Gabriel pulled his hand back to see that Gimmi was right. It wouldn't be long before the Cataclysm took his life.

"Fine, what is the price for my wish?"

Gimmi raised a nonexistent eyebrow. "Be more specific, everyone has many desires."

Gabriel growled. "My greatest desire, of course!"

Gimmi tilted his head. "Which one? The real one, or the one you claim?"

Gabriel's confusion was visible. "What?"

"Your desire to win in all things, that is your truest desire."

"What? No! That's not-!"

"Lie all you want." Gimmi interrupted Gabriel's response. "But that is your greatest desire. It can be seen in your actions." Gimmi leaned down and got in Gabriel's face, causing him to step back.

"That is why you sent your son away for being unruly. That is why you didn't save Emilie when you had the Rabbit miraculous. That is why you get pleasure in defeating a child." Gimmi used one of their many hands to gesture to Marinette, who has been watching this all happen, while still frozen from Venom.

Gimmi then turned back to Gabriel. "So again, claim all you want that your greastest wish is for Emilie's return, but you and I know the truth."

Gabriel, throughout Gimmi's examination of his character, was silent. Then did his best to look imposing. The way he did when ever someone challenged him.

"Fine, but seeing as how I was able to summon you, I think we can agee I've already achieved that dream. So, another wish is in order."

Gimmi rose back to their full height.

"I wish for Emilie's return."

"We cannot do that for you."

Gabriel physically recoiled. "What!?!" Gabriel scowled at Gimmi. "Is this some kind of rebellion? Because-!"

"We are not rebelling. The problem with that wish, is you."

Gabriel, still furious. "Explain. Now."

"Even when we ignore the fact that the Emilie you think you know and the real person are different, you still do not have anything that would be equivalent."

"Of course I do! A life for a life! I offer my own for hers!"

"Those are not equivalent." Gimmi pointed at Gabriel. "The life must equal in your eyes. An eye for eye, a loved one for a loved one."

Gabriel sputtered as Gimmi rose again. "No loved ones? I have a son!"

Gimmi stared down at Gabriel with thinly veiled contempt. "The fact that you are even considering sacrificing him shows you do not love him the way you love Emilie."

Gabriel, unbothered by Gimmi's accusation, defends himself. "He's a sentimonster. Now that the Peacock is fixed, we can just make another. I'm sure Felix would agree to do so."

Gimmi closes all their eyes as they shake their head. "Do you hear yourself? How can you claim to love your son, when this is how you talk about him? Like he's a thing to throw him away when your whims desire?"

"We're a family! We-"

"We require the bond to be present. And that bond does not exist for you. Nor does anyone feel that way for you, for the matter."

Gabriel gave a bewildered look. "No one feels... again, I have a son, Adrien. He loves me. I'm his father."

Gimmi gave Gabriel a withering look. "There was a point when Adrien loved you. But in your haste to make sure you always win, even against your son, you snuffed out any and all affection he had for you."

Gimmi looks off into the distance. "Maybe in another life, one where you loved your son like you claim to, HE could have made the wish." Gimmi turns back to Gabriel. "And do what you originally intended when you summoned me. Sacrifice you to bring her back."

As Gimmi laid out the consequences of Gabriel's actions, he seethed. "Stop this stalling!"

Gabriel went into another coughing fit as Gimmi gave him a pitying look.

When stopped coughing, Gabriel continued. "There has to be for-"

"There is no way for to bring Emilie back for you"

Gimmi leaned their cheek on the back of their hand. "Nor can I give you eternal victory, as the only way to do so would be to grant your other desire."

Gabriel snarled, with a trail of ash going his face. "Then heal me of this!"

He gestured to the part of his body that was Cataclysmed.

Gimmi shook their head. "The price would either to give you an equally bad condition-"

"I want to be healed! Not obtain a new condition!"

"-or to give it to someone else you care for." Gimmi continued without pausing when Gabriel tried to interrupt them.

"But as we established, you have no one you care for. So again, we cannot do that either."

Gimmi stared down at Gabriel, as he finally realized what they were saying. "You can't mean..." Gabriel, for the first time in a long time, was feeling dread.

"Yes Gabriel," Gimmi leaned over him, "you have nothing to lose, and as such, nothing to gain."

So now that I talked about my ideas for the new superpowers for the miraculous

Now is time to show my idea for the main five

They’re mostly the same but with some changes

Here we go

Ladybug 🐞: Creation (Life), the power allow them to create objects, BUT first the holder needs to pay attention to the situation and try to think of what they would need, when the object is build they need to figure out how to use it, in some cases the object is already made and can be the object they wanted

-For power up, the holder can re-create what was broken and destroy, like buildings, vegetation, also can make flowers and plants glow were ever they are walking, in a rare case, a creature that never exist

Cat 🐈‍⬛: Destruction (Dead), the holder is capable of destroy things, but isn’t just that, they can make a major damage, almost destroying an whole building, if a human received a cataclysm, their skin gonna start to rot until they die, a painful and slow death

-For power up is that with their energy they can destroy a lot, almost like a earthquake and also they can make persons, plants and objects to age more faster

Both 🐞🐈‍⬛: Restoration (Order), with both holders together, everything would back to normal, fixing everything, but that’s only if the damage is mayor, also with both combined a person can make a wish, but there is a consequence to have a balance

So yeah, no more “Miraculous Ladybug”

Bee 🐝: Subjection, When the holder hits an enemy with their sting, the victim wouldn’t move for few seconds, but then they would start moving again but now they are under the holder’s control, doing what they said and follow their lead

-They also have little bees who works as solders and would fight against the enemies to protect their owner, also can make honey to make shields to protect them or make the enemies be stuck in it

Fox 🦊: Illusion, people with this power are smart and knows how to trick people, so the fox allows the holder to make distractions, like making copies of them or things that aren’t even there

-They can also make fake scenarios, like making the victim living a fake fantasy or make them see something that didn’t even happen, and even fake their own voice

Turtle 🐢: Protection, the holder is allow to make shields to protect them and their team, but they can also make giants walls or even make for themselves an armor

-They can make a bridge to try to pass to another side and make a giant sphere to walk inside it and don’t get hurt

So here they are

I make the Ladybug and Cat to be both as powerful so they would be treat as equals

My original idea for the bee was if the victim got sting, if they tried to move they would get pimples but I decided to change that

And yeah, I kinda give the Ladybug the power of the peacock with creating a living creature, but in my defense, make sentimonsters is kinda like literally creation

So yeah, that power should be for the Ladybug, but does creatures work different from sentimonsters

why i love the sentiadrien theory.

(NOTE: this isn't a list of reasons why i believe the theory's true, i know that's already been talked about and debated a lot. these are just reasons i think it's a good twist in the story.)

it has the potential to be so powerful for adrien's character arc. whenever he finds a way to free himself, whether that's by getting a hold of his own amok, or even figuring out how to destroy his connection to it (personally i love the foil-miraculous theory so im rooting for the concept of a cool upgraded cataclysm), it'll be so meaningful as a symbol of overcoming abuse and finding freedom. ESPECIALLY if that comes in the image of using the power of destruction he was given to cataclysm his metaphorical shackles just like how he's cataclysmed physical cages and walls so many times throughout the show. just. the SYMBOLISM. chefs kiss

whenever mari/ladybug finds out about this, hopefully we'll get to see her go all Fierce Protector Mode to defend adrien/chat and encourage him that he's still an amazing and valid person (please?? this would be so cute????)

also since marinette, who holds the miraculous of creation, is known for her bravery, agency, and creativity- traits adrien as a senti never had a chance to have growing up- it gives more reason to root for her and adrien's relationship. she can help him heal, bring out his humanity and grow into himself. if that makes sense?? i read a rlly cool meta on this once but i forget who wrote it:(

it gives a meaningful reason for emilie's death. the plot of the show literally wouldn't exist if not for emilie dying (or falling into a coma if that's what you prefer), and it would be a bit anticlimactic to find out that the reason she died was because she just wanted to create, idk, robot assistants or a pet dog or something. whoever emilie created, she DIED for them, and so imo it only makes sense that the being she created was adrien, her child.

sentimonsters are such a good metaphor for abuse. since the show's for kids, it's hard to talk blatantly about heavy topics like abuse, but this lets them deal with it in a kid-friendly way. and i know this has been discussed already, but i don't think that using a magical metaphor lessens the gravity of the issue at all. as i saw someone point out, miraculous has always been a show that uses magical metaphors (akumas, superhero disguises, you name it) to talk about real-life issues both kids and adults deal with, and personally i think that's really beautiful.

it just..... honestly makes the show so much more interesting/dark/angsty???? in a way that's chillingly unexpected, but also makes so much narrative SENSE looking back on it, which i think we can all agree is the best kind of plot twist. personally as much as i love the lighthearted funny parts of the show (i do!!!), i've always been drawn to the contrast of its more tragic, epic-scale side (especially since seeing cat blanc aka my favorite episode lol). IM NOT EVIL I JUST LIKE PAIN, OK

all the potential for angsty fanarts/fics/other fanworks. i've seen quite a few of these but i know there's also a lot more out there i haven't seen yet, and i just love all the concepts that fans are exploring because of this theory.

sentimonster jokes/memes are hilarious sorry. but not really sorry because i am 1000% sure adrien "i-cope-with-my-problems-with-humor" agreste will be TOTALLY on board the jokes too once he gets over the initial shock/existential horror/etc

ok i think that's all i have off the top of my head but if anyone else thinks of more reasons plz reblog and add on!!! let's get some more positivity for this show's writing and for our senti cat child because he sure deserves it <333

I thought of a way to make Senti-Adrien be an amazing (or at least clever) idea.

Adrien finds out he is a sentimonster. It gets revealed, Gabriel tries controlling him. Ladybug wants to save him. It’s a whole clash for the rings to get control.

And during this Adrien Wants to get free. He doesn’t want to obey his father. And an idea pops into his head. Cataclysm causes sentimonsters to be uncontrollable.

He tells Plagg to cataclysm him. Plagg is horrified at the idea, saying it could kill him. Adrien tells him that it’s the only way to free him, so he can save everyone. Plagg does it, as lightly as he can.

It causes a crack to appear over his face (maybe like a black scar. Oh and it hurts like hell.

The scream of pain cause Ladybug and monarch to turn and Adrien is on the floor. They both call out and Adrien gets up. His face showing some effects from the cataclysm. One eye now red and lines on his face akin to cracks, but he is no longer controlled.

He thanks Plagg, and transforms. His chat noir form now has the one red eye, and he fights against monarch.

They beat him and take the other miraculous back. Along with the rings, the rings no longer control Adrien. Ladybug was going to use miraculous ladybug, which would fix everything, including Adrien’s face.

But Adrien tells her that it doesn’t need to be fixed, he is free, and while it was painful it needed to happen.

Season 3, episode Miraculer.

The Akuma of the Day had the powers to yoink the Heroes' powers and use them for herself. At one point, she hits Chat with Cataclysm!

The effect this has on Adrichat is just to injure him. He's in pain radiating from where he was hit(chest/stomach area), though after a few moments he's still able to go back into the fight.

This aligns a lot more with what Season 5 showed with Gabriel, a Human, being Cataclysmed, rather than what any of the previously-Cataclysmed Sentimonsters did(going berserk and wrecking shit).

On the topic of sentimonster Adrien, it always kind of bothers me when people compare him too heavily with other sentimonsters, and I think it’s why people have such a hard time grasping what him being a sentimonster means. I get why people compare them, because it’s kind of the obvious first thing to do when trying to understand it, but comparing them can only take you so far.

“Sentimonster” is a term equally as broad as the word “animal”. Humans are animals. Sharks are animals. Comparing the natural behavior and ability to express thoughts/emotions between a shark and a human is clearly a bogus comparison, and we have to take that into account when comparing Adrien to any other sentimonsters. It’s simply useless to compare him to any sentimonsters other than the human ones: Sentigabriel, Sentibubbler, Sentialec, Sentinino, and Bugette/Sentibug. and Felix but we’ll get to him

But even then. I don’t think they’re very comparable.

Aside from Bugette/Sentibug, we haven’t seen any of these sentimonsters act on pure free will. They were born, they were controlled, and then they were disposed of within half an hour of their birth. To say “well, sentibubbler didn’t seem to have any strong opinions, so he may as well have been a husk!” is a... strange statement to make about some guy who was born 20 minutes ago and was forced to do what he was told. Of course he doesn’t have any strong opinions!

Bugette is really the closest sentimonster that can really be fairly compared, but she still was only alive for like... I don’t know? 15 minutes? Again, pointing out the lack of a developed personality in her is pointless. It doesn’t matter if you’re a sentimonster, or if you’re a perfectly biological human grown in a tube who just stepped out of your chamber at the ripe old age of 14— you’re probably not going to have any strong opinions or personality quirks. That doesn’t make you not human, that just means you haven’t been given a chance to live yet.

But Adrien? Adrien (and Felix) is the oldest human sentimonster we know. He’s been alive for fourteen years, from Wishmaker we know that he was actually born as a baby. He has lived life. He has had time to form his own personality and opinions. 

He’s basically just a human, he’s lived his whole life as one, and comparing him to some guy who lived for 5 minutes and then immediately died and determining that Adrien’s personality/emotions must be fake because you didn’t think sentialec had a personality? .... I just think it’s a strange take.

That being said, I also need to point out that many of the human sentimonsters, despite all of this, did seem to have some personality to them. It’s difficult to tell exactly where the “just following orders and performing exactly how shadowmoth wants me to act” begins and the “natural personality showing through” ends, but the fact of the matter is that we don’t know. We don’t. 

You cannot definitively point at scenes like these and say that these weren’t at least semi-genuine reactions from the sentimonsters. You can speculate, sure, but that speculation isn’t strong enough to discredit Adrien’s entire personality (especially because, I repeat, even if it was all artificial they’ve been alive for 5 minutes):

sentialec taunting Style Queen and then running away laughing (sentialec’s entire purpose was to get Style Queen akumatized. Why would shadowmoth instruct him to laugh? his mission was complete! he didn’t have to do anything! and the real Alec is kind of a coward, so it’s not like he’s giving a convincing performance of the real Alec):

sentinino getting startled by Ladybug (why would shadowmoth tell him to pretend to be nervous about Ladybug? serious question. I honestly believe sentinino was genuinely nervous about being forced to do an undercover mission.):

shadowmoth talking to sentibubbler, and sentibubbler giving a kind of nervous/panicked response (seriously, rewatch this scene if you have to. in both french and english you can hear the nervousness in sentibubbler’s voice, and this is him talking TO shadowmoth, NOT parroting what he’s telling him to say):

In all of the above screenshots, the sentimonsters were being actively controlled by Shadowmoth. Their object was being held, yet they seemingly still had a bit of a mind on their own. Again, you can argue to the ends of the earth that these are simply emotionless husks that are pretending to be human, but at that point there’s really nothing that can convince you otherwise. 

Saying “shadowmoth’s sentimonsters are emotionless, therefore Adrien is emotionless” is such a strange take because: A) shadowmoth’s sentimonsters never lived for longer than half an hour B) shadowmoth’s sentimonsters do show hints of personality/emotion C) the peacock is... literally the miraculous of Emotion... I didn’t mention that until now but honestly that alone should make this pretty clear. D) Adrien has lived a completely different life from them. They’re just not comparable.

The only other sentimonster that really can be completely fairly compared to Adrien is Felix. In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s Felix’s point. He’s Adrien’s foil. He’s there to show how different two different sentimonsters made under similar circumstances can be! Because they’re two people. They’re people, so they’re different from each other. They’re people, so their personalities differ. 

I understand why sentimonster Adrien theory feels like Adrien’s entire humanity has been a lie, but that’s just simply not the case. Adrien has humanity. He always has, and the circumstances of his birth don’t change that fact. I fully believe that if Adrien was born as a human or as a sentimonster, he’d still be the same exact character (except maybe with some extra trauma for being a sentimonster). 

And this is all just going into the sentimonsters that people usually bring up as a point against Adrien. Obviously if I delved into the Ladybug episode, whose entire thesis was “sentimonsters are just like humans” and delved more into Bugette, then this point would be even clearer. But I often see people use the other sentihumans as counterpoints, and I wanted to point out that they really aren’t the counter-examples that people think they are.

I have to disagree with you regarding the sentiAdrien having "absolute zero foreshadowing before season 4" since Emilie using the peacock miraculous (which was foreshadowed during season 1 volpina and then continue so from first physical appearance in the show during season 2 to its finale then finally confirmed during season 3) was technically foreshadowing for it same goes for the photo at the end of sentibug (Sentibug being in pain and the amok feather are on Adrien's side with Adrien's facial expression being sad)

My problem isn’t with Emilie using the Peacock Miraculous, it’s with the fact that the writers are now suddenly having Gabriel give Adrien orders with his ring when not once did he do it in the previous three seasons and contradicting episodes like “Miraculer” and “Cat Blanc”, where events like Adrien being hit by his own Cataclysm and Gabriel trying to convince him to join his side without ordering him don’t make sense when you see how Sentimonsters are written in the fourth season.

Sentimonster Adrien Theory 2

Spoilers for all of Season 4 as of 8/31/21

For my previous thoughts, and the validity of at least SOMEONE on the cast being a Sentimonster, refer to: Here

As a note, my previous theory was written after Ladybug and BEFORE Chat Blanc, and Felix. I will be retreading ground for Adrien specifically, but basic belief in there being a sentimonster is there.

Something I just want to say, I don’t think Adrien being a Sentimonster negates the abuse Gabriel inflicted on him. What it does is explain why GABRIEL is able to justify it, but seeing where someone is coming from does not excuse them of their actions. Gabriel has to repent. The fact is Adrien is a person even if Senti!Adrien is true, and that doesn’t change just because he’s not human. Treating someone who can think and feel cruelly is never a good thing.

That being said, evidence and why I think Adrien really might not be human.

A: The Wish

We know Emilie is in the basement. She is in some kind of stasis. We know the Wish involves her.

We do not know Gabriel’s wish. We very deliberately do not know Gabriel’s wish, because we, the audience, hear him talk about it a lot, but only in vague terms. He wants his wish, he wants to change time, he wants to achieve a goal.

But he’s never said he wants to wake Emilie up, fix her, bring her back. He wants to do something for her sake, but its not the most obvious thing.

So its NOT the most obvious thing. There is no reason to be vague about this unless its to elude to a deeper meaning. The obvious wish is too obvious to be obtuse.

And more importantly, we know Emilie and Gabriel wanted something fifteen years ago thanks to the Shanghai special. Something to do with the human virtues, potentially.

We know Marinette is fourteen now. So Adrien’s birthday in Bubbler was his fourteenth birthday. 

The want for something started around the time Adrien should have been conceived.

B: Ask for Forgiveness, not Permission.

Adrien doesn’t like to ask his father for things. We see this over and over again with him sneaking out to things like the Startrain, or say he’s going to fencing with Kagami, and other excuses. Sometimes he does try to do things in the straight forward way, but when there are things he really wants to go to, things he doesn’t want to have to accept a no, he sneaks out.

Like the class trip. Like going to see his mother’s movie.

And when Adrien is told directly ‘no,’ he will often listen. For Adrien. Chat Noir, however, is a different entity, and he often uses it for a reason for why he can go out. Chat can, Adrien can’t.

To date, the only time Adrien has gone against a direct order from Gabriel is in regards to going to school.

And Chat Blanc.

I’ll get to Chat Blanc.

Adrien was told he could not attend school, and he accepted that. Until he became Chat Noir and only then did he rebel. Interestingly, when he was pulled from school after the book incident, he didn’t plan to just run away again. We know he was willing to disobey to attend, so why did the ban take this time?

Perhaps because Gabriel made it a thing that was allowed. It wasn’t an outright rebellion, it was a thing earned and then lost.

C: What Is The Amok?

Its the rings.

Not ring.

Its BOTH RINGS.

Which may or may not be magic items in of themselves, but there is not enough information for that.

When Gabriel transforms, there is a distinctive beep. When we first see the basement, we hear that beep again. We we see the rings in Felix, we hear that beep yet again. This beep is a sound cue of significance in regards to Gabriel and Emilie.

And here is the thing. If Adrien is a Sentimonster, he’s meant to be their child. Which comes into some questionable things, ethically speaking, for his free will. They don’t want Adrien to know he’s a Sentimonster. They could tell him to always hold onto his Amok, but he’s the son of very wealthy people. Even without being a model, there is every chance his Amok could be stolen because he’d be a target for theft.

But just having the Amok sitting somewhere is dangerous.

And what if it gets broken?

The only way to keep Adrien’s Amok safe is for one of his parents to have it....or both.

Crocoduel has shown us an item can be Akumatized and taken apart at the moment of enchantment and exist as two separate things. And a bonus, the item has to be put together and THEN broken to break the magic.

And here are the twin rings that are perfect copies of each other and get clean together really nice and maybe they attach a little bit? Having two rings stay together that well while cleaning is quite the party trick if there isn’t something to that. But visually speaking, it tells us, the audience, these are two halves of the same whole.

And it allows a little bit in the form of free will. Because if someone does not possess BOTH rings, they cannot control Adrien completely. Its still incredibly hard for Adrien to resist, but he IS capable of disagreeing at the very least.

Of course, when combined with the home atmosphere, his ability to resist doesn’t account for much without extreme circumstances, but still.

We can see this with Sentibubbler. The moment Ladybug had the coffee cup, he changed tracks without a sign of hesitation or confusion. Because he just had the one item. Even though Ladybug was ordering him with more autonomy then Shadow Moth. (I will also get into that.)

This is also why in Felix, Gabriel immediately goes to retrieve Emilie’s ring to wear. Sure, accusing Felix of stealing the ring gets into a whole legal lawsuit that makes it complicated and would make it difficult to retrieve the ring. Its a whole hassle, but it doesn’t explain why he needs to wear Emilie’s ring.

Except Felix has the ring that is one half of Adrien’s Amok.

Gabriel HAS to wear the ring, because Emilie cannot influence Adrien in any way, but Felix can. Gabriel has to balance out whatever Felix may do to Adrien, so he takes his wife ring. And its why he can’t get into the legal battle because he has to wear the ring to protect ADRIEN, and if they see him with the ring, there will be questions he can’t answer.

This also may explain Gabriel seems even more harsh to Adrien after Emilie’s disappearance despite some oddities.

Adrien wasn’t allowed to go to school while Emilie was around. But Gabriel granted it. When Adrien wants for things he wasn’t allowed before and is willing to fight for it, Gabriel grants it.

I don’t think Gabriel’s authoritative nature has truly changed that much. I think what changed was Adrien’s PERSPECTIVE of it. Because before, Emilie was a constant counter to his need to obey. Now he doesn’t have that, so being told what to do feels more absolute. I think the thing that truly changed was how much time and affection Gabriel was willing to show Adrien in his pain, not how much he restricted him.

Which still ain’t great.

Though that is a thought. Maybe Gabriel avoids Adrien because he knows he’s a commanding sort and he’s trying to not do overly much. Which is why most of his time around Adrien is when he can critique him, because it gives him a focus for orders? It would be a twist.

D: What About Chat Blanc? Or rather, what about Plagg.

So I’ve heard people say Chat Blanc disproves this theory because that is certainly a time to command Adrien to obey with his Amok! Which true, except for two things.

One, the end of Felix has little reason to change in the new timeline. Adrien and Marinette dated for at least a little while which was shortly before Felix happened. Felix still visited.

What might have changed was what kind of terrorizing Felix did on Adrien.

What has no reason to change is Felix stealing the ring.

Which means Gabriel DIDN’T have the means to absolutely command Adrien to do anything, we only had half the Amok.

And the fact the Amok was in two pieces is why Chat Blanc didn’t destroy himself if Gabriel’s ring was still capable of being destroyed while he was transformed, and if London still got wrecked. We saw in Crocoduel the item has to be COMBINED and THEN destroyed. Destroying both at once doesn’t count.

And it would explain something in Chat Blanc.

We know the move he TRIED to do was kill himself. He engulfed himself in the power before it went out of control.

We also know, officially of Guilt Trip, that cataclysm DOESN’T KILL SENTIMONSTERS. It makes it so the Amok doesn’t control them, usually go crazy. We saw Chat Noir get Cataclysm’d in Miraculer, but he didn’t turn to ash. We don’t even know if he truly died. He was suffering, to be sure, and we see Sentimonsters take damage. He could have been damaged.

But Chat Blance is a Sentimonster AND an Akuma, so he was able to take the damage more and went absolutely off the rails instead, and instead of blaming Gabriel, like he should have...

He blamed Ladybug.

Because he was no longer connected to what gave Gabriel control over him. The only ‘control’ over himself he recognized was Ladybug’s influence and his own love.

And then there’s Plagg’s influence, which ties into Cataclysm. Sentimonsters cannot be killed by Plagg’s magic, but they can be FREED of control thanks to his magic. As I said in my first post, the one time we see Adrien disobey as direct order, its after he meets Plagg and goes to school. He uses Chat Noir as a means to disobey all the time.

In being bonded to Plagg, Adrien is given genuine free will and freedom, over the manufactured version that his parents made with a split Amok. He is able to decide things on his own, because he has the chaos magic that grants him the ability to SAY NO. To develop his own means of rebelling.

Ask for forgiveness over permission. And sometimes, learning to say no anyway.

This doesn’t change the conditioning Adrien has been through. He’s obedient to a fault because that is all he’s ever known. Its just instead of fear and gaslighting having trained this into him, it was magic. His parents never NEEDED to be cruel, Emilie COULD be as kind as Adrien says, because they never needed to use negative reinforcement on him.

They had magic.

And that was able to do the job just as well.

Plagg is able to naturally counter the magic. And he’s giving Adrien the unconditional love and support to help him learn, but Adrien is still a person, still has a personality. And the mental bars he has around his head are just as effective as the magic ones were.

E. Shadow Moth vs Mayura

There is something I’ve noticed between how Shadow Moth and Mayura operate.

Mayura made Sentmonsters for others, but she did make one for herself: Ladybug. But here is the thing about Sentibug, she gave her orders. Gave her a general guideline. And then she let Sentibug take those orders and just go.

Shadow Moth, when he makes an Amok, does not do this. He allows others to control Sentimonsters as they will, and often Sentimonsters are just given general guidelines, but not Shadow Moth’s Sentimonsters. Sentibubbler, SentiNino, SentiAlec are Sentimonsters Shadow Moth made.

And he didn’t give them orders. He didn’t give them guidelines.

They were Literal Puppets.

He controlled their movements. He SPOKE THEIR WORDS FOR THEM.

Out of all the Sentimonsters, Gabriel is literally the only one who has used his Sentimonster this way.

And I think there’s a good reason for it. I don’t think Gabriel is capable of making an entity that can act on its own, but is still a complete slave to his will and be okay with it.

Because what does that say about Adrien?

Akumas are fine because those are PEOPLE. People he manipulated and coerced, people he threatened, but they are still people. They can still refuse him and he knows it.

Puppets are find because that’s all they are, puppets.

But this middle ground that Sentimonsters are, that is what Adrien is. And Gabriel is unable to cope with that because it means seeing his son as a tool and despite how much of a genuinely terrible person Gabriel is, that is not something he’s willing to see in himself.

So he hyper controls the Sentimonsters and Does Not Think About It.

F. Wishmaker.

Listen, its valid to have a wish as a child to be what your parents wanted to be. Depending on parents, it could be a perfectly healthy wish.

Here’s the thing.

Everytime Wishmaker granted a wish, we saw people at the age they wanted that wish granted. They were children when they had this wish.

ADRIEN WAS AN INFANT.

And here’s the thing.

Infants don’t think of others. Infants are a bundle of vulnerability that is very curious about the world and don’t want to die and is trying to figure out how to make its wants known. Infants are selfish beings because they are just trying to survive in this world they’ve shown up in.

An infant doesn’t think about what its parents want.

Adrien should not have been CAPABLE of having that wish as an INFANT.

Not unless he wasn’t human.

A Sentimonster sure does want to do what its Amok holder wants.

And what his parents wanted was a son. What they wanted was Adrien.

So that’s why Adrien appears as Adrien for the wish, because for all he has doubts, the Sentimonster in him knows that is what they wanted.

F2. Gabriel and Emilie’s eyes.

....idk, fam. The fact their eye colors were switched FEELS important and we’ve supposedly seen Emilie at seventeen with green eyes and her sister has green eyes, so what’s up with that is wei-

F2. GABRIEL AND EMILIE’S EYES, A THOUGHT I LITERALLY HAD RIGHT NOW.

The Amok is both rings. Gabriel and Emilie have their own rings. The rings they have always worn as their own.

Felix, with green eyes, has Gabriel’s ring.

Gabriel, with blue eyes, has Emilie’s ring.

The reason the eyes are switched in Adrien’s memory is because he associates the eyes with the ring and the current holder of the specific ring have THOSE EYES. He knows the faces they SHOULD be, but the eyes are DIFFERENT because the holders are DIFFERENT.

G. Allergies.

Its still funny if a boy made out of a feather has a feather allergy. It may also be a defense mechanism put in. Logically, any peacock user will have feathers. Maybe he’s allergic in case they ever lose the peacock, he’ll avoid the holder while they’re transformed at least. Maybe it could even distract the holder from noticing anything off about him.

H. Obedience.

Adrien is obedient. Which is one of the reasons he’s a suspect Sentimonster. I won’t go into this because I already talked about his Permission versus Forgiveness thing.

I. Taking Charge

I talked about before about Adrien taking charge and struggling with it, but I also have another point about it.

The thing is, we see Adrien excel at second in command....but also when he’s Chat Noir.

Adrien did BADLY as Mister Bug and as Aspik. But the thing is, Plagg wasn’t there at the time. As Mister Bug, Plagg was with Marinette. As Aspik, the ring is in the weird pocket dimension things are bamf’d away and while Plagg is around, his power isn’t bonded to Adrien.

Adrien has proven able to figure out Ladybug’s plans with minimal instructions. The fact Mister Bug couldn’t even get to step one is weird.

He tried being Aspik for months and was unable to figure out what he needed to do, focused solely on the objective of protect Ladybug. Unable to step back and think beyond his goal. Three months is a long time to not come up with ANYTHING.

Its like Adrien’s ability to decide things on his own was compromised. Like his free will was stripped away, hindered by the rings that control him. He could try to focus on protecting Ladybug, but he couldn’t figure out a good way to take down the enemy on his own.

His father didn’t want him to.

We do see Adrien can lead well. When he wanted to talk to Juleka in Guilt Trip, HE was the one making the right decision. But he was unable to overtake Marinette’s charisma, so even if he could think of what to do, how to handle the situation, he doesn’t have the force of personality to overtake a true leader.

We see Chat Noir have plans and direct a crowd.

With Plagg granting him agency, he’s able to make good decisions, good calls, able to use that brain of his well. Its when he loses Plagg he struggles the most.

J. The Need To Be Useful

Adrien thinks he needs to be useful. He needs to be good and perfect. And yes, this is reinforced by Gabriel’s treatment of him, always criticizing him, but it is a kind of curious fear.

Adrien has two great fears.

The fear of trapped isolation and the fear of rejection.

The fear of trapped isolation is the one Gabriel has reinforced. Adrien has only shown a fear of his father rejecting him once, during Christmas, when he was frustrated in the idea Gabriel would not spend time with him, and even then, Adrien chose to make it a reality on his own first.

And its very likely Gabriel was affectionate when he was younger.

I think the fear of rejection from Gabriel is a newer one that Adrien is aware of. After Gabriel has refused to be around Adrien.

But I think the fear was ALWAYS there. Because he is an Sentimonster. If a Sentimonster isn’t useful, then they have no reason to exist. And the thing is, while Adrien fears this, there is also a strong part of him that is RESIGNED to it.

Which makes it even weirder in that Gabriel’s behavior should make this a NEWER fear...unless it was part of Adrien’s natural existence. One of a Sentimonster. He’s afraid of it, because he wants people, he loves people, but there is a part of him that just....accepts it as a natural consequence.

One that isn’t worth fighting.

Like he isn’t in season four right now.

K. Memories

Adrien couldn’t remember having childhood dreams. We know he used to play with Chloe and...that’s it. There’s even implication his modeling is a Newer Thing instead of being a child model.

We know he didn’t have a childhood dream. He never had a childhood wish. Which is weird because Adrien is the biggest romantic dreamer of the series save for ROSE. He never thought about being a charming knight, a magical girl, even just being a superhero? He was all on board with being a superhero when offered, like he’s thought about it a lot!

But it wasn’t something he called a childhood dream.

But you know who probably did have being a superhero as a childhood dream?

Chloe.

If Adrien has two Amoks to make a facsimile of free will, it may have been impossible for him to truly ‘dream’ in the sense Wishmaker was talking about. It was too deep of a want for him to truly conceptualize enough to count.

But he played games with Chloe, he still saw the wishes and dreams and fantasies that he could enjoy with her as a proxy.

Perhaps that is why they were such good friends. Chloe wanted things so fiercely that for Adrien, who struggled to want, he was able to figure out how to do it with her influence. Not enough for a childhood dream, but enough to know how to want enough that it gave him a love for people. A need for more in his life beyond the perfect son.

L. Emotions.

Adrien is the heart of the Ladybug and Chat Noir duo. The Peacock is the Miraculous of Emotions. Adrien has shown a difficulty at controlling his own feelings. He can control his REACTIONS, but its hard for him to figure out what to do about his feelings beyond ‘conceal, don’t feel.’

Which is weird, because he’s extremely empathetic. He’s very good at judging others emotions (save for Marinette ‘Just A Friend’ Dupain-Cheng.) He can offer comfort and figure out is they need space or help. The fact he struggles with his own says maybe his are just too strong.

Like he’s a being Made Of Emotions.

M. Narrative Foreshadowing.

Just saying it again.

It comes up a lot with Adrien becoming some kind of puppet, copy, impostor. It happens so much. SO MUCH.

Also he was the first one to think Sentibug was a Real Person.

Then there is the end of Mega Leech.

Could it just be another example of Adrien being emotionally abused? Sure.

However, considering how often this series genuinely glosses over abuse (Adrien, Chloe, Kagami, even Zoe to an extent), its weird to just throw that in at the end of an episode that, frankly, barely involves Adrien’s emotions.

Save one.

Adrien was told it was a perfume commercial. He was Lied To. He was told One Thing was Another.

And there is the framing. There is the double focus on the ring, the focus on the words. There is so much focus on this being a command that could not be denied, and that doesn’t need to involve the ring AT ALL if it was abuse.

Unless, of course, the ring was an Amok.

Then the visual cues make a whole lot more sense.

N. The Wild Mass Guessing.

Now what is the wish.

Clearly Emilie’s use of the peacock is what made her sick and it made her sick for years. Now whether the peacock was ALREADY BROKEN or Emilie broke it is up in the air. Either way, we know she used the peacock longterm. Since there is no talk of supervillains or previous superheroes, it seems highly unlikely she was granting people super powered monsters.

So, her use was for a Sentimonster. Perhaps trying to split the Amok broke the peacock. Perhaps that one use was enough to make her sick, but because it was just the one time, it took years for the magical sickness to take her down. That is all up in the air.

What we do know, the crux of the wish is fifteen years ago. Which means it involves Adrien’s existence in some way. It likely involves rewriting time a bit.

And here is the thing.

Gabriel loves Adrien. He does. He’s a trash person, he’s toxic at best, abusive at worst, but HE LOVES ADRIEN.

What if the peacock was broken when they found it. What is Emilie DIDN’T break it?

‘I wish the Peacock was never broken.’

Fifteen years ago, Gabriel and Emilie were trying to have a baby. But they were unable to conceive. Amelie had her own baby boy, and he’s beautiful, and Emilie and Gabriel just hurt more at their inability to have a child.

(This is why adoption should be seen as more valid, folks, but that’s neither here nor there.)

But Emilie’s family knows of magic. Because let’s be fair, there is something truly suspicious about that lot and it screams they know magic stuff. Emilie has heard of grand artifacts and magics and maybe there is away around this limitation.

They explore the world, research magic artifacts, until they finally find the Peacock and Butterfly Miraculous. They are able to learn what they can do, either from Nooroo and Duusu. Clearly an Akuma does nothing for them, but a Sentimonster?

That had possibilities.

But the Peacock is broken.

Emilie doesn’t care.

They experiment. She uses the Peacock more and more, but she figures out the trick. She figures out how to make a child, how to make him SAFE.

Adrien is created, using the sign of their union, and the Miraculous are locked away.

But Emilie is still sick from figuring out how to create Adrien. And the years go by and she doesn’t get better, but she doesn’t care. She has her son. A son both her and Gabriel love, but they have to be careful. He’s not human, after all, just a little off.

Let him meet Chloe, because the Bourgeios are hardly normal. Slowly socialize him. Keep him inside so no one sees how odd he is. Keep him safe. He grows, happy enough, independent ENOUGH to believe.

Then Emilie collapses.

And doesn’t get up.

Gabriel is the only one with active control. He keeps Emilie’s ring on her finger and hides her away, but now, he’s the only one who can order his son. He doesn’t want to destroy what independent thought Adrien has achieved, doesn’t want to destroy HIS SON, so he keeps his distance. He only interacts in ways where he can be silent, or criticize what he has always criticized. Doesn’t even dare to get him a gift for his birthday because what if that becomes far too important?

As Adrien shows a rebellious streak, does things for himself, asks for things HE wants, things that Gabriel will sometimes give if its deemed safe, and Gabriel tentatively shows a little more attention. Goes to a few events, goes on a few trips. Not for long, brief amounts of time, hoping that Adrien keeps being Himself.

Because he can’t take off the ring.

Taking off the ring means leaving Adrien vulnerable.

And he fights Ladybug and Chat Noir for his wish.

If the Peacock wasn’t broken/didn’t break, then Emilie wouldn’t have gotten sick. She would wake up and Adrien wouldn’t be erased by his sole control. Maybe if he’s bold enough, he can just make sure Adrien was never at risk of being a puppet again. Take the Amok’s out of the equation, make his son real.

And if time is altered then....then it doesn’t MATTER if Adrien is hurt NOW. If he hates being alone. If Gabriel fails, at least he doesn’t erase what little will his son has left. If Gabriel wins, then literally nothing done matters!

Sometimes he forgets that. He sees Adrien in danger, and he feels that fear, that need to save his son.

Sometimes he remembers, tells himself if he wins, then any harm he caused Adrien with Riposte, with Style Queen, WITH CHAT BLANC, will no longer matter. He just had to win, he has to win, he has to win because it will return Emilie, and it will ensure his son is never lost in the magic that makes his soul.

It doesn’t matter who he hurts. It doesn’t matter how villainous he becomes. None of it matters as long as he achieves his end.

Once, he even thinks of explaining it to Adrien. Tell him he’s Hawk Moth. Tell him he’s a Sentimonster. He knows the distance hurts his son, but if he knew why, then Adrien would understand just how much he loves Adrien.

He keeps his distance so he doesn’t accidentally change Adrien.

He’s Hawk Moth so he can save Emilie and Adrien.

He will fix everything once he wins, and he regrets how often he had hurt Adrien until then.

And then Adrien talks about how he’s noticed Gabriel and Nathalie becoming closer and Nathalie has the Peacock. Adrien is switching his loyalty from Emilie to Nathalie, he’s changing due to MAGIC and Gabriel is furious because he’s been too lax, been too kind, he needs to WIN.

When the Peacock will no longer hurt, when Nathalie will stop fighting him on him using it, he takes it. To keep Adrien from changing more due to magic.

There are times where Gabriel’s heart remind him of his love. He can’t hurt his son then.

There are times where he remembers his goal. If he wins, whatever harm he caused Adrien doesn’t matter, and he HAS to win.

And he throws himself more and more and more into the fight, into winning because if he can win, then he can save everyone important to him.

What does it matter if Adrien suffers now as long as its undone?

My two cents on the Sentimonster cousins

Spoilers for Miraculous Ladybug S4 (specifically the episodes Gabriel Agreste, Wishmaker and Ephemeral

Félix : The episode Gabriel Agreste pretty much confirmed that Félix is a sentimonster and that he is aware of it. My first language is French and to be fair it was not 100% clear as distilled water, since French is like that, but between the snapping fingers and the fact that Félix was quick to believe his uncle was Shadowmoth (because he would know since he is a sentimonster, that his aunt created him, and he wouldn't have to search far to understand that his uncle now has her miraculous). He also probably knows the twin rings belonging to his mother and aunt contain his amok, hence why he was always asking about them prior to the episode Félix.

Adrien: several clues point towards him being a sentimonster too. He is referred to as "perfect" and sheltered prior to his mother's demise, Émilie had a strong enough reason to keep using the peacock miraculous and died from it, he is identical to Félix despite having different fathers, he is overtly obedient when Gabriel touches the ring, as shown several times in Ephemeral, and in Wishmaker, his childhood dream was shown to only be this single thought of "make my parents happy". I can see two realities: Adrien is a sentimonster, or Adrien isn't, and all those clues can be explained in a rational way.

Option 1: Adrien is a sentimonster. Émilie and Amélie could not have children (being twins they could share a health condition that prevents them from having children), and when Émilie came across the peacock miraculous fifteen years prior to the show, she was able to create a son for each of them.

The rings contain their amoks. Adrien was probably under more control when his mother was alive since she was wearing a ring and could be influencing him even unconsciously, and sheltered because she was ill from creating him, making him very precious (all this effort only for him to be struck by a car on the street?! Imagine the pain). Perhaps each ring contains the amok to one twin-counsin sentimonster and Adrien's was held by Émilie, while Gabriel had Félix's ring. When Gabriel touched the ring in Ephemeral, which was previously on Émilie's finger (prior to Félix), he could control Adrien to do what he wanted.

His childhood dream of "only wanting to please his parents" in Wishmaker matches what a sentimonster under control would want to do, meaning anything the holder of his amok would want from him.

Émilie died from using the peacock miraculous, she must have had a very good motivation to use it once for something huge, or over time to maintain a sentimonster dear to her. She was overconfident, stubborn, grief stricken by not having a child, and brushed away the side effects, or she was unaware until it was too late.

When Chat Noir / Adrien was cataclysmed by Miraculer, he did not die, he was merely less functional, like other sentimonsters. I will address the explanation from Astruc lower down, but let's keep it to what we know here from the show: in Cat Blanc, both Hawkmoth and Ladybug who were transformed were turned to ashes by his initial cataclysm. Yes it was a significantly more powerful cataclysm, but I don't understand how a miraculous can be broken by a regular cataclysm but not a miraculous holder.

Option 2: Adrien is not a sentimonster. Félix is and was made based on Adrien's appearance, since Émilie and Amélie are twins and Émilie was inspired by her own son.

Émilie died from making Félix, not Adrien. She did not know the side effects of the miraculous and only realized too late what it was doing to her health. Amélie is adamant about having the rings back to make sure her son is not controlled by Gabriel.

Whenever Gabriel touches the rings, he is also mentioning Émilie or thinking about her, and usually is being direct towards Adrien as his expectations. It could be control but not in the way of a sentimonster, just plain old parental expectations. Adrien has trouble standing up against his father's demands like any child with an emotionally detached parents would. His desire to do what his parents expected of him is also strongly linked to social desirability, a behaviour we can observe in children to do what they think we want of them in research settings. Alternatively put, Adrien is not a sentimonster, he is a child conditioned into doing what his father expects.

According to Astruc, Chat Noir was protected by his suit from the cataclysm. It is also possible that miraculous holders are resistant to their own power, like Cat Blanc who was the only soul alive in Paris following this mega cataclysm. Gabriel also had to renounce the butterfly miraculous before he was akumatized.

PROOF THE "ADRIEN IS A SENTIMONSTER" THEORY IS WRONG!

From what we've seen from Reflectdoll, Light Eye, and Banana Boom-Boom: when a Sentimonster is hit with Cataclysm, their body breaks and goes out of control.

However, in "Miraculer" when Chat Noir got hit, neither of these things happened. His body didn't show any damage except internally. Even when he transformed back into Adrien. And he didn't go crazy either. He was in a great deal of pain. And there has been no indication Miraculer's power is any weaker than the ones she stole.

With this in mind, this is proof he is the real Adrien Agreste, and he is 100% human!

Thoughts and Reaction to SENTIBUBBLER

For the past month, every day my sister greeted me with "Sentibubbler!" Sometimes multiple times a day. So this episode was a very anticipated one. The trailer spoiled that the opening scene was a dream, so I wasn't expecting to be surprised or anything like that. HAHA BOY WAS I WRONG But first, this dream points out several things she's worried about and she's going to have to address because they're seriously stressing her out. Likely in the order of occurrence in the episode is how we'll see it addressed. (In chronological order because let's be real, broadcasting companies don't seem to care much about what episodes we get when, so we'll likely see them happen out of this order) - Alya and Trixx being able to keep the secret and be trustworthy. (Which seems to be taken care of in this episode) - Nino finding out she's Ladybug. Nino's close with Alya, so tbh it's probably just a matter of time before he finds out on his own, or they break down and decide to tell him. - Chloe's issue with the Miraculous and Ladybug's rule that has only applied to Chloe so far. - And Chat Blanc. It seems Chat Blanc becoming akumatized again is a bigger fear to her than all the rest, based on her reaction, being horrified and backing up to the point she knocks stuff off the table. It also shows that she's thinking about how her and Chat Noir in this other timeline were in fact together and thinking about what the reason for it is. She believed that it was them being together knowing their secret identities, and their love did it. So here in this dream, well everyone knows right, so what's keeping them from being together now? Interesting thought to have for someone who claims she doesn't love him. ;) Tikki squeaks when bounced. Good to know lol But poor thing was asleep. LOL the Lochness Monster is Trixx's doing, huh? It's like every major event in history happened because of a Kwami. What else are we going to learn xD Marinette being freaked out by the tarantula. The biggest spider I've ever seen in my house is a Giant Crab Spider. Freaked me out so much too. Poor thing was terrified though so I let it go outside. xD Are Alya's parents going to be like Marinette's parents and just shrug when their daughter says things they don't understand and let it go. Because in their situation, those are the best parents to have. Except Adrien's, who isn't around....oof moving on. And here is the start of Nino feeling left out... DX Anyone that knows me knows I adore him, so this is going to begin to get really painful for me. ;-; TRIXX IS JUST SO STINKING CUTE And then suddenly with the phone ringing and empty room with a villain on the other line threatening the lives of her friends and family, did I feel like I entered one of my Taiwanese dramas instead of Miraculous Ladybug. And I love it! I had no idea how Alya was going to deal with Shadow Moth's call, instructions, and Sentibubbler in the room, I was at the edge of my seat. Older seasons it was so much easier to have a good general idea anyway of what was going to happen, but now you get caught by surprise much more. Alya is so brilliant, there's honestly nobody better for Marinette to have told first. I love Chat Noir so much and for emotional reasons, I wanted him to know first. But it's so easy for one or both to be unable to transform or do their job, they need at least one other on the outside they can trust. Alya is certainly that someone. I do think Nino knowing and Adrien finding out will make them the strongest though. But of course, not without its consequences. There is no perfect solution. I also want to point out too. When Marinette was trying to decide what to do, she thought of ways that would cause significant trouble, or worse. Transforming in front of everyone and going back in time to erase that. Nothing she thought of to get herself out of the situation was a good idea. Chat Noir didn't want to listen to Rena Rouge and was going to blow her plan up. Her wording wasn't great, and she should've said it differently so he'd be more likely to listen. But

both Ladybug and Chat Noir were going to do things that would cause serious damage and consequences. Rena Rouge was the one that helped make things go smoothly. But also yikes the fact that Chat Noir got so angry and hurt about being left out (it didn't even have anything to do with Ladybug, so that's going to be a misunderstanding that adds up and comes back later ooof) that he destroyed a chimney with his baton. o.o But his "Oh well Miraculous Ladybug will fix it anyway so I can't feel too bad" xD Everything lately about these episodes just screams "Chat Noir and Nino are going to have to know, at least some details, and soon." either that or both of them walk away because they can't put up with it anymore. And I'm pretty sure we're not getting the latter! Chat Noir being told by Marinette to stay where he is. Chat: BUT WHYYYY x.x Marinette: Rena Rouge created a Ladybug illusion to trick Sentibubbler, who is a Sentimonster. If you go there, you might ruin her entire plan! Chat: ... and you know this how? That's really sus, Marinette... Marinette just goes all casual Chat-like as she explains and he just doesn't even question anything anymore lololol Alya being super smart and getting Shadow Moth away from her while she still keeps the Miraculous. Hahahaha what if all the rest do that too, that'll be so great. x3 Chat, explains what's going on and what he has to do. Marinette: Good idea! :D Chat: Relax. The real Ladybug will save her and together we will save you. Marinette: We're already saving them, Kitty. We already are... Me: AHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MY HEART ;-; The only real physical damage done to Paris that day was when the Agreste's decided to vent their anger out on innocent buildings. Marinette being as Ladybug to Chat Noir as she can be while Marinette's the one with him trapped in a bubble. x33 I love how he uses Cataclysm, gets trapped in the bubble again, and Marinette just blinks at him like "Oh Kitty...:c" In S1, Marinette would've rolled her eyes and shook her head lol Ladybug transforming in a bubble right next to Chat Noir and he knows absolutely nothing :D I'd be so nervous even with that illusion if it were me. Chat Noir: NOBODY CAN MUTE ME Shadow Moth: Wanna bet? THAT ACTION SHOT OF PEGABUG TAKING THE COFFEE CUP FROM HAWK MOTHS IS ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITES Her hair is so pretty and her smug look is just so perfect!! Chat Noir saving Nino <3 Ladybug and Rena Rouge's hug <3 Seriously loving these friend moments. But they make me nervous about what's to come. "Hey, I thought today would be the end of Chat Noir." Oh dear. Please don't have him thinking like this still. What's it going to take for this poor boy to understand he's irreplaceable and she cares so much about him? At this point I think him knowing her feelings for him and some of the truth, but not all of it, would be what it'd take. Okay, the scenes after the end card now are tripping me up. Such creepy, dramatic music with a getting angrier all the time Gabriel. Scary. Thanks to spoilers from TFOU, this scene here, hints at the finale episode for sure. And that was the episode! I really enjoyed this one, I love how it's really getting the ball rolling on some problems that later on will need to be fixed, to then have them come back happier and stronger than before. We just need to live through it first lol.

DID YOU SEE THAT EVERYTIME GABRIEL TWISTED HIS RING ADRIEN OBEYED HIM?? I wasn’t really invested in the sentimonster theory but for real now…actual potential to be real.

It definitely seems to be the direction the show is going. I honestly don't know where I stand on the senti!Adrien theory. I always thought it was a cool aspect for fics, but I don't know about canon. However, I don't think Adrien being one would ruin Adrien's character arc if done right like some posts I have read say. However there are a few things in my mind that I feel don't add up perfectly that leaves me not sure which way the show will go:

-Adrien has been Cataclysm-ed before, in Miraculer he was hit by his own power, and he did not go out of control in any form. In fact he pressed forward despite the fact that he was in so much pain.

-The fact that never at any point Mayura nor Shadow Moth sensed that Chat Noir was a sentimonster. Yes it is possible that maybe it's because his amok is not on him, but since the Peacock holder can destroy a sentimonster without being in possession of the amok then they have to be able to sense/connect without the amok too.

-The ring wasn't there when Gabriel was transfromed:

Now I'm not saying that the amok couldn't be there in some form: the reason why I'm pointing this out is because I would like a full explanation on how items from the civilian form transfer over when transformed (like Marinette can access things from her yoyo), especially something like an amok. Where do they go? Are they still there in a sense? What if this was indeed an amok/akumatized object would it be something that would vanished?

Techo-Pirate from the New York special kept his akumatized object with him after transforming while akumatized, so that didn't vanish.

Basically, I want to know if Hawk Moth did have an amok could he access it here as we see even though we don't see the ring, or is this just a tick of his? Is it still there in some form? He's reaching for right where it would be, so what is the connection?

-Adrien did obey during these moments, but there are other moments we seen Adrien obey without the ring. Adrien is a victim of emotional abuse and manipulation, and these alone have a heavy impact on Adrien.

Resisting an akumatization is hard, especially after everything Adrien was going through in that very moment.

Why hasn't Gabriel been controlling Adrien this entire time if he could? There have been so many instances where Adrien has done things that Gabriel hasn't wanted him to do, so why not have Adrien be a perfect son at all times if he could?

Basically I have a lot of questions, and personally I feel that it could truly still go either way. If Adrien is a sentimonster though I do hope that canon approaches this topic in a way that does not remove who Adrien is as a person.

Thoughts on Miraculous New York: United Heroez

Warning: Spoilers! I am back! Also, this is my 700th post, so yay!

The new intro is so cool! I stan! Will it be the same for the Miraculous World Specials (ie. Shanghai)??

Mr. Pigeon? Akumatized for the 51st tims?!?!?!?! I thought he moved on from pigeons and went with rats?!?! (Timetagger anyone????)

The Spacesuits! So cool! (By the way, its the purple potion).

Ladybug and Chat Noir are very autonomous, trust connected from their bond, and super efficient! (You will see where this comes into play later on.) Ladybug could have not gotten a better partner than Chat and she says this herself.

The rose scene after defeating Mr. Pigeon! I loved it so much and its better than expected!

Oh Marinette, didn't you say you have moved on from Adrien? I think her heart has yet to catch up with her brain, which takes time. Time will tell...

Tikki is visibly annoyed with Marinette saying she will move on and yet act like she still has a crush on Adrien. First of all, that is the fandom's mood. Second of all, be patient. Time will tell...

The sock puppet film was adorable. And apparently famous in NY amongst the Queens students (thank you Zag for including another NYC borough!)

Miss Bustier is pregnant?!?!? Wait...IS SHE IS MARRIED?!?!?!? Whether she is married or is seeing someone, this is still shocking (unless her prefix in the French version is Mrs.)

Poor Mrs. Mendeleiev. The class was less than satisfied with her being their chaperone. I know she is not the fun teacher, but she still has feelings and I know she is a nice person. People tend to judge and despise teachers based on them being fun or not, which is unfair. But karma comes after the class since throughout the trip, she becomes the teacher they think she is. What? She could have been fun.

Lila was not welcome in New York to begin with. At least she won't be causing any problems on the trip (though I wish she went to Antarctica).

Marinette has done more for Adrien in this episode than in all three seasons when she promised him that she will find a way to convince Gabriel to go to New York. I guess her deciding that he is "just a friend" has allowed her to do more for him than beforehand.

But she still collects pictures of him, so we will keep quotations on "friend". Or we need to give her a break (Alya I am looking at you). We'll see as we go on.

I am happy Nathalie is alive, though I am not happy with the fact that she showed Gabriel the Eagle Talon Miraculous. And he plans to go to New York. And that this is the only reason he lets Adrien go to NY.

Speaking of which, the Miracu-class showed up to his place, with Marinette being the spokesperson to yell at Gabriel Agreste's freaking face. Good for you Marinette for fighting against Gabriel. Though you did not have to put up a long fight, which while shocking, is also worrisome.

Adrien was understandably sad to not be able to go to NY. Kagami seems happy about it though. Maybe too happy...

Yes, I know that Kagami and Adrien are potentially dating (Battle of the Miraculous ending anyone? *sobs in Adrienette stan*), but it still pains my Adrienette stan heart though when she kissed him.

Of course Chat Noir will be sad to see Ladybug go. But she brings this cute cat buzzer and seeing him play with the buzzer was adorable. Ladynoir anyone?

Adrien is stuck with this dilemma: NY or Ladybug? Poor sunshine boy was shocked to hear this news. He initially chose Ladybug and wanted to stay and alert Ladybug about the new situation, but Plagg was like "FREEDOM! GO AFTER IT! BESIDES, YOU CAN USE YOUR SPACESUIT TO RETURN TO PARIS IN THE EVENT OF AN AKUMA!" Seemed like a good plan...initially. (Plagg, I am after you...sorta).

Of course Marinette will miss the bus, but Luka?!?! They either trying to remind me of Miracle Queen or Luka is superhuman for being able to show up to her place and peddle so fast that they caught up with the bus. Pains my Adrienette heart once again to see her kiss him, but he does have a point about her needing some clarity in NY.

Then we have the plane scene. Poor Marinette was panicking over sitting next to Adrien (really now universe?!). There was more to the scene: from the AC trouble to the seat reclining at the wrong time to Adrien placing the luggage in the compartment (not in that order exactly). It was somewhat cringeworthy then seeing that Marinette went to swap seats with Mrs. Mendeleive (though she only did it when Alix whined).

Note to self: DO NOT SIT NEXT TO MR. DAMOCLES IN AN EIGHT HOUR FLIGHT. He is not very conscious about personal space as he took over Marinette's seat when he was asleep and woke Marinette up. And sleeping with a bucket of popcorn? Really?

If anyone has ever been on a plane, turbulence is common, and Marinette's experience with the Bathroom is very relatable. That's why I only go in an emergency.

Adrienette watching a sunrise! (Or sunset? They are not too clear on this, especially since they arrive at the hotel at night, but everyone was asleep on the plane). And get this: Adrien complimenting Marinette and hugging her tightly! (Just a friend now, huh sunshine boy?)

Alya and Nino are a mood when they say that they love their friends, but they wish that they could express their love to each other (Operation: New York).

Alya, did you really have to tell Marinette that NY is the city of love? Thank you for making her feel even nervous.

TechnoPirate and the United Heroez everyone! (By the way, Alya needs a chill pill because she was WAY too excited to be rescued by the United Heroez. And the Owl Mr. Damocles? Really?!)

Note to everyone who does not live in NYC: no, there is not a superhero for every job.

Ladybug and Chat Noir are exceptional superheroes, but Marinette and Adrien cannot open or walk through automatic doors, which is funny and kind of sad. Peoples, your saviors of Paris.

Sabrina has her own story peoples! She is given her own love interest from Astoria! I love them! And how he invited her to the rooftop party.

Alya, do you really have to tease her and Marinette at once. "Maybe you will make a "friend""

Aeon, I agree: Marinette and Adrien are made for each other. But you sound like Master Fu in Stoneheart. Are you secretly Master Fu???

The feeling is mutual Chloé. Marinette and Alya do not want to be your roommate as much as you don't want them to be yours. And I know you do not want to be there in the first place (my city is beautiful btw).But I am happy you did not rat them out for going to the rooftop party.

When they hid from Mrs. Mendeleive, Marinette and Adrien ended up in Jess(Sparrow) and Aeon(Uncanny Valley)'s room.

Magic hotdogs!

Remember the Hotdog Scene I posted over a week ago? That really was Adrienette and it was better than before, with them floating up and dancing to the song from Despair Bear! Yes! Best scene so far!

Doorman! I want him to be my college professor!

Okay, I know I am desperate to see Marinette and Adrien get together, but really Alya, Nino, Jess, and Aeon? Put them in DANGER?!?!? I cannot.

So Marinette and Adrien are put in danger and actual danger. Danger: Jess and Aeon simulating a dangerous situation. Actual Danger: Hawkmoth in New York having akumatized TechnoPirate and make him break into the museum to get the Eagle Talon. Oof.

Then where my Ladynoir heart wears off: Ladybug and Chat Noir seeing each other in NYC to save their civilian selves. They have seen Paris being destroyed by a sentimonster, with Chat supposed to be there and call Ladybug.

Uncanny Valley and Sparrow see Ladybug and Chat Noir in action and decide to be like them because they do not have that same freedom. Look, I feel them, but I still think they should have called for the United Heroez. Plus, cool transformations!

Remember the whole thing about "autonomous, trust formed by their bond, and super-efficiency"? Yeah, that was Sparrow saying that. But Ladybug and Chat Noir are now currently lacking the last two because of the whole "Chat you are supposed to be in Paris" ordeal. Well, you are generally right Sparrow, but now they have their own issues.

Of course, the new lack of trust (and Ladybug making her anger verbal) has affected their ability to fight TechnoPirate inefficient. So much Chat cannot defend himself and while trying to free himself...

HE CATACLYSMED UNCANNY VALLEY!!! This took a dark turn as this is the first time he cataclysmed a "person" (though she is an android, but still a person by standards. I mean Majestia was understandably very upset and I get it).

Majestia punching TechnoPirate into multiple NY buildings: woah.

Ladybug manages to fix everything, but two problems arise:

1. Knightowl wanted to take away their Miraculous and reveal their secret identities. They are now somewhat fugitives in their eyes for almost killing Uncanny Valley.

2. We see the limitations of Miraculous Ladybug. While Ladybug repaired NY, she was unable to repair Paris and the damage caused by the Robostus sentimonster. Which not only indicates that the Miraculous Ladybug cure only repairs the damage created by a specific villan, but that they have to be present. Here, there were too late.

Here is where my Ladynoir heart shatters: 1. Marinette sobs over how she was unable to repair Paris and felt horrible about how she failed them, and 2. Adrien renounced Plagg because of what happened to Uncanny Valley AND for disappointing Ladybug. Then, he runs off and Marinette sobs over losing Chat Noir. It was very sad that I wanted to cry.

I know this part is still very sad, but can I say that Tikki and Plagg are cute together in Marinette's purse? Poor timing? Moving on.

Aeon and Jess are disciplined by Majestia and Knightowl for disobeying their orders and for straying from their mission: protect the French class.

Are Majestia and Knightowl together in their civilian life? And Aeon and Jess are sisters?!?! I stan.

Here's the thing: I like how the special stayed true to this part of the Miraculous Comics. There, we find that Knightowl is a woman (which you can find out from this scene or at the end). And i just stan her relationship with Majestia.

Also, how dare the writers forget the Miraculous Comics! Sure, they might be different entities, but still: how dare they let the United Heroez forget about the power of the Miraculous Cure! I know that Chat Noir should be more careful about his cataclysm and Majestia has a right to be upset, but still: they had a deadly plan set in the comics to defeat a villan and called on Ladybug to cure the millions of dollars in damage. But hey, to each their own.

Also, somewhat unrelated, but Julerose appeared in the beginning and I am here for it!

Gabriel kidnapped TechnoPirate and akumatized him again while giving him the Eagle claw jewel to liberate people from their fears or other factors. Oof.

The kwami for the Eagle Miraculous is relatable. We would all wish we had our previous owner and fear about our power going into evil hands, right?

Now back to Adrien and Marinette, my heart breaks to see Adrien having to go back to Paris because Gabriel delcares NY as "too dangerous". YOU ARE THE FREAKING DANGER THOUGH! YOU MADE TECHNOPIRATE DANGEROUS AND RELEASED HIM FROM DANGER!

Marinette decides to go after him, but falls over from the bike she borrowed due to the rainwater as she begs him to stay.

And peoples, the moment we waited for three seasons (sorta): Marinette finally utters the words "I love you" when referring to Adrien. Too bad he got too far for him to hear her.

Also, who was going to get her off the road when she broke down? Is that her form of closure?

The United Heroez are now under the Liberty Eagle Miraculous' influence, which made them go haywire. Huh. So Jess and Aeon now have to save them with the help of the French Superheroes!

So Aeon was able to uncover that TechnoPirate is akumatized and using a Miraculous through her scanners. I stan her!

Also, she was able to recognize Marinette is Ladybug and Adrien is Chat Noir. And we have a reason to explain why everyone is blind: there is a quantum mechanism in the suits that makes them unrecognizable when compared to their civilian form in the eyes of humans. She can only figure out their identities since she is an AI android. So our theory about everyone having a reason to be blind is correct AND we can cut everyone else some slack. Please.

Marinette confessed that she needs Chat Noir. This was what we wanted to hear after all that has happened: what she said in the beginning, but now in the most genuine form. I have no words other than that this is heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Adrien was worried over Ladybug's disappointment, but Uncanny Valley is amazing in the sense that she recorded Marinette's genuine words, which inspired him to come back.

Plagg, you literally make light of everything. He literally made faces in front of Uncanny Valley because she can't see him. I can't.

Ladybug and Chat Noir's reunion healed and broke me. It was so emotional as Ladybug expresses how worried she was and how she missed him and Chat explaining while admitting his mistakes.

Time to take down TechnoPirate while using Doorman's powers to take the Eagle Talon and freeing everyone. The fight scenes are epic per usual, this one especially.

TechnoPirate counting down the time was alarming, but also funny as he makes light of it.

Hawkmoth, you would have been to blame for the World War III because of your ultimatum, not Ladybug and Chat Noir.

They missed the countdown, but Majestia stops the rocket and sends it to the sun. What the hell?! What if the sun exploded?!?!?!?! (I dunno? It was an atomic bomb for starters?)

So TechnoPirate is defeated and the United Heroez apologize for misjudging our Parisian superheroes and decide to no longer treat their children like kids.

So Paris for the first time in forever needs to undergo actual reconstruction, but Nadja is somewhat forgiving as she mentions that they needed to help the United Heroez and save NYC, where Hawkmoth also was. Hope there are no hard feelings?

Marinette had the idea of having the banner saying hello to Adrien, which he watched on the plane. So nice of Marinette the class to do such a nice thing for him.

Chloé, we might have somewhat forgotten that whole Miracle Queen stunt, but I am glad to see you enjoyed NY even if you will not admit it.

There are more Miraculous around the world. At the end, we need to fear Hawkmoth. Also, there are more Miraculous guardians and I am glad to see Jess convince one of the Guardians to create a new team of next generation superheroes

Overall, the New York special did not disappoint. We got Adrienette and Ladynoir (even if we know that Lukanette and Adrigami are also a potential reality, though good news for the shippers). We also saw the New York superheroes. Though there are some points that really surprised me (ie. The Ladynoir trust fight and Uncanny Valley dying temporarily and Paris being destroyed), I enjoyed watching the special.

I am worried about the Love Square, especially with Marinette though, but that is for another post. To sum up, we know what happens in NY stays in NY, but since the season 4 synopsis mentions Marinette struggling to find time to tell Adrien her feelings, I think that the Love Square is not 100% dead, but I am not too sure. Oh well, let's leave that for tomorrow.

I stayed up for another hour or so, so I will sign off. In the meantime, go ahead and watch it on an Instagram Page or on Disney Channel or wherever you can watch the special because I will tell you this: you will not regret it! (I watched it twice and will watch it again tomorrow!)

Well since Adrien is a sentimonster and Felix is a sentimonster.

I want everyone to realize that ALL sentimonsters have thoughts, feelings, can feel pain, can fall in love and have a crippling fear of death.

SentiGabriel Agreste (who was forced to look like and act like gabriel agreste. then got akumatized)

Mega leech who had the fate of spitting out millions of politicians (poor thing)

Felix had been helping the hero's for a week and it was getting better each time. Felix would distract the creature, Chat would take out its legs, and Ladybug would purify it. The three made a great team. He had decided to patrol as a civilian that night. Usually he would have spent the evening with Marinette or Adrien, but both seemed to be busy. Instead of staying home and racking his brain over new designs for his fall line he chose something that could actually help Paris. Yet his desire for coffee couldn't be helped. He stopped off at a cafe and decided to watch Paris from the Eiffel tower, taking in all the lights of the fair city. "I didn't expect company tonight." The voice was familiar. Felix turned around only to see Ladybug standing there, hand on her hip and a smile on her face. "Not that I'm complaining." She laughed. Felix couldn't help but think of Marinette. She laughed just like that when she was nervous. "I wouldn't mind having someone to talk to." He admitted. He could feel affection coming off of her. He wanted to ask if she knew him, but decided not to. She wouldn't tell him anything about her secret identity anyways, but he couldn't help but wonder. "You're Felix, right? The designer?" Ladybug walked over to his spot and leaned against the railing, watching over the city. "I am." He agreed. "And you must be Ladybug the superhero." "I am " She giggled. Just like Marinette. He turned to face her then, looking over her pigtails and large blue eyes. "You remind me so much of Marinette." "I-I do?" She stuttered. "The bakery girl?" "She is more than a bakery girl, but yes." Felix hummed. "You both have the same laugh." "We do?" "Don't think I'm flirting with you for this, but it's a very beautiful laugh." He smiled. "Or perhaps I'm saying that because it reminds me of her." "You really like Marinette, huh?" Ladybug pressed. "Have you ever met her? Who wouldn't? She's as kind as a saint, as clever as a fox, and as good as a superhero. I never stood a chance next to someone as amazing as her. Yet there is something about this girl that has changed me to my very core.” He closed his eyes, taking in a breath. He had no idea why he was telling the hero all this. Maybe spending time with her as a hero made him used to having her around, or maybe it was because she reminded him so much of Marinette. “I never cared about the world before. I was jaded. I didn’t want to date, I didn’t want to spend time outside of work or my own goals, and then I met her. Honestly it was more like the second I saw her I knew she was special. Then I got to know her and she was more spectacular than I could have imagined.” “I understand that.” Ladybug turned to face him. “I am dating this boy who is talented and smart, with a handsome face to boot. He is awkward and funny, neither of which he would ever admit, and if he just let people in more he would have everyone falling at his feet. I decided to go out with him on a whim. I don’t really know why I said yes and it freaked me out at first because he was such a jerk when I first met him as a teenager, but he had changed, and he keeps changing into someone I can see as a hero of Paris. Not that I should give my boyfriend a miraculous, I’d be constantly worrying about him, but he’d be worthy.” “Is it Master Moth?” Felix joked. The two had talked about their love interests enough. He could go on about Marinette for hours if she let him, and he needed to stop before he tried. Now was a better time to ask about what she thought about his alter ego. “Moth? I only met him recently.” “What do you think of him? He went from villain to hero, he must be a little interesting.” Felix pushed. “Moth isn’t as bad as I thought he was going to be.” She confessed. “He is methodical, and willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Paris has been safer since he changed sides, but I can’t help feeling like he is going to turn again at any moment.” “You’re still trusting him to fight alongside you and Chat despite feeling like that?” “When he joined our battle for the first time he pushed Chat out of the way. He was going to take the brunt force of a sentimonster by himself to protect my partner.” She stated. “Anyone that can do that deserves a chance.” “You’re a good hero, Ladybug.” “I’m only doing my best.” “And Paris commends you for it. Master Moth speaks highly of you and your use of your lucky charm.” Felix offered her his coffee. She took it. “You know his real identity?” “Of course. Us orphans have to stick together, you know.” He snickered. Ladybug just watched him, unsure what to say. He hadn’t even told Marinette about that. “I’m glad you’re letting him redeem himself.” “You are full of surprises, you know.” Ladybug leaned against him, taking a sip of his coffee. “You’re a lot kinder than you look.” “Thank Ms. Dupain-Cheng for that.” The fear hit him before he heard the crashes. “Ms. Bug, it seems like you are needed elsewhere.” Felix smirked. “Go show Paris what you are made of. I hope I will get to see you again sometime. “I hope so too.” The hero leaned in and kissed his cheek before throwing out her yoyo and flying off to save the day. “I think she likes you.” Nooroo giggled as the Kwamii flew out from his pocket. “I have a girlfriend, Nooroo. Don’t try setting me up with another hero.” He turned away from the railing to find a place away from the prying eyes of the city. “We have something else we need to worry about.” “Right! Are we going to add another hero to the team today?” Nooroo asked. “Maybe, if the situation calls for it.” He held his hands up for Nooroo to sit on. “Are you ready?” “Of course!” The butterfly cheered. “I’m glad to hear that.” Felix undid his jacket so his broach was in view. “Nooroo, wings rise!” Transforming took his breath away each time. He loved the way his jacket had a tall furry collar. He liked how the lights of the city shined a little bit brighter, giving the world a hazy glow. He felt graceful with his cape that was split into four parts and turned into his wings once he was in the air. He adored his butterfly miraculous, and it only felt better using it for good. He ran to the edge of the platform he had just stood at with the heroine and jumped, taking flight. The air whipping at his face felt greater than anything else. He seen the two heros going against a suit of armor. He landed a few feet from the fight. “Oh, what a knight this has been.” He laughed. “That’s what I said!” Chat exclaimed. “But bugaboo here didn’t find it funny!” “I still don’t!” Ladybug growled, dodging another attack. Moth lifted his cane like a sword and joined the assault. The empty suit was faster than any of them expected, and the thing had no problem going against the three of them. “I think the amok is in it’s sword.” Ladybug announced. “Then how about we help it get out of hand.” Chat jokes. “How about I give it a hand?” “Cataclysm!” The knight danced around him before finally getting caught between Ladybug and Chat. “Got him!” It all happened so fast. Chat lunged at the knight, and Felix only had a second to react. The knight had thrown itself to the side, and Chat was barreling towards Ladybug. Felix jumped, knocking Ladybug out of the way. That was when pain exploded across his back. “Moth!” He could hear the heroes calling to him, but he couldn’t see anything. His world had become enveloped in darkness. “Finish it off.” He said, his voice coming out barely more than a whisper. There was silence. He felt so tired. So drained. He wanted to curl up into a cocoon and sleep. He couldn't focus on anything around him. Instead he chose to focus on what he could feel. He could feel desperation and fear with enough anger behind it to burn down the city. It would be so easy to akumatize that person. Akumatize. "Go, my little Akuma. Give them wings." He groaned. Light flooded his vision as he saw through his victims eyes. It was Ladybug. "Ms. Bug, what do you need to be successful?" He whispered in her mind. "Moth? Is that you?" She couldn't believe it. "Yes. This is my special ability, remember? Now focus. What do you need to win? What power can I bestow on you?" He could see Chat Noir fighting the armor through the heroines eyes. "Quickly. Think." "I need to stop time." She said. "Then, Lady Time, use the power carefully." The heroine felt herself transform again, gaining what looked like the rabbit miraculous on her chest. "Wait till Chat knocks it back, then send him to recharge. He will need another cataclysm." Felix instructed. "But you planned on doing that, didn't you?" "I can't say I'm exactly thrilled about having you in my head." Ladybug whined, doing exactly what he said. Chat knocked the knight back, making the statue lose balance. That's when she froze him. "Chat, I need you to recharge." Ladybug yelled. "How did you do that?" Chat looked towards his partner to see her knew item. "How did-" "Moth is still with us, we need to hurry though he doesn't sound so good." Chat ran off at her instruction. "How long will this last?" "You've fought against my akumas, it can last for awhile. Just try to hurry. I am getting cold." He tried to joke, but it only made the heroine panic more. "Ms. Bug, it's alright. I'm alright. You don't need to worry. If you don't cheer up soon I'm going to have to take a page from your book and bug you." Felix said. Ladybug laughed at his poor attempt at a pun. “You should laugh more often, Ms. Bug. It suits you.” Felix? The thought from Ladybug came suddenly, shocking him. “Now, now, Ladybug. Don’t go ruining the surprise.” A cough racked his body as the cataclysm spread from his back. She rushed over to him, lifting him up. “You’re Felix and you, you, oh my God where is that Chat I need to fix this.” “If he doesn’t get back soon, I need you to tell Marinette something.” “You’ll be fine, tell her yourself.” You can tell me later. “This isn’t how I wanted to find out your identity, Ms. Bug. You need to keep a check on your thoughts.” “This isn’t how I wanted to find out either, you big jerk!” She yelled. Felix drew all the strength in his body to open his eyes, and lift his hand to cup Ladybugs face. He could see the worried expression etched into her face. “Like a moth to the moon, I was always drawn to you.” “How dare you be romantic right now!” “Flirting without me?” Chat fell from the sky, landing on the other side of the knight. “Is there something you needed to tell me?” Ladybug set Felix down and wrapped her yoyo around the sword, pulling it out of the knights weakened grasp. Felix was right about knocking it down first, she doubted she’d be able to get it away otherwise. “Cataclysm!” “Miraculous Ladybug!” He had never felt the effect of the magical ladybugs before, and he was going to try to avoid it for the rest of his life. The tickles of their wings was impossible for him to withstand. They healed the seeping hole in his back, giving him the energy he needed to get up to face his team mates. Ladybug ran to him, throwing her arms around his shoulders. “You’re a horrible jerk.” “Have I ever told you how much I love and admire you?” Felix laughed, placing his hands on her hips. “Say it again.” She grumbled. “I love you, Ms. Bug, and I absolutely adore you.” He pulled away from her just enough that he could lift her face up to his. “May I kiss you?” “Well if you don’t I’ll be mad.” She said. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. It was easy to forget the world around them with her lips on his, he wanted to drown himself in the sweet embrace. He knew who Ladybug was, and she knew who he was, and she still loved him. He was sure after she was positive he was fine he would never hear the end of it. Until then he enjoyed how she showered him with affection. “I missed something major, didn’t I?” Chat Noir asked, shifting awkwardly to the side. Ladybug pulled away from the kiss and leaned her forehead against Felix’s shoulder. “You know that boyfriend I was telling you about? Turns out it’s Moth.” “It is rather bittersweet that the two people I was fighting that whole time during my bout of evil were actually the two people I loved the most.” Felix hummed. “Wait,” Ladybug looked Felix in the eyes, her fiery blue against his green. “You know who Chat Noir is?” “We don’t know each others true identities. How do you?” Chat got closer, putting his face in Moth’s. “I’m dating one of you, and the other is my cousin. Truly, did either of you expect to keep this secret from me forever?” Felix raised a brow. “Felix?” Chat gasped. “Wait, if you’re Felix then that must mean,” he turned to Ladybug. He screamed. “Chat is, oh no.” Ladybug whined. “I rejected you for Ladybug when you are Ladybug!” Chat fell to his knees. “I told you I couldn’t be with Chat because I was in love with, well you!” Ladybug cursed. “But now us bugs are dating, and Chat here is dating a dragon. So everything is fine. We aren’t going back on anything now, are we?” Felix looked between the two. “We’re still making apricot macarons, right?” Ladybug smiled. “Yes.” Felix lifted her up, spinning her around dangerously close to hitting Chat. “Good. For a moth without his lady lacks the wind beneath his wings.” “I love you, dummy.” “I love you too.”

Hey everyone! Here is another one-shot from my Marichat May collection on Fanfiction! Please do not repost to another site without permission! I hope you enjoy!

Day 11 - "I almost lost you."

Her breath escaped in heavy pants, her heart racing in anticipation. She knew she had to hurry. She had to get away before it was too late. Ugh! Why did she have to pick today to make a trip all the way across town? She was still too far from the bakery, the endless streets in her path laid out like a constantly changing maze. She knew these streets of course, but from a more, aerial view. Now that she was on the ground, she had to keep her head on straight as she pushed herself forward.

She felt like she was practically flying down the streets of Paris, taking every other turn and changing directions any chance she could. Her eyes darted around wildly, scanning for the dark shadow that had been chasing her. She had to find a way to throw him off.

The quickly setting sun quickened her pace.

She was running out of time.

She turned another sudden corner, glancing behind her with a triumphant smirk. There was no shadow. She had finally managed to throw him off. She turned back and found herself facing a dead end alley. She stopped cold, fear overtaking everything else.

Piercing green eyes were staring straight at her, the wide predatory grin making her take a small step back at his unusually calm voice, "I almost lost you."

She forced herself to stand firm, he didn't look half as out of breath as she felt, "You did lose me."

She turned from the alley and bolted, hearing his deep chuckle behind her before she heard the familiar sound of his baton extending.

That damn Chat. She knew he was no doubt enjoying this. This was one of the most ridiculous things she had ever agreed to. Playing a city-wide game of Chat and Mouse with a super-powered Chat... that was smart.

Of course she could have transformed and really thrown him off, but right now he was tracking her scent. If he caught her scent change, and then happened to find Ladybug with the same scent, things were going to get out of hand really fast.

No, she would beat him as his own game. All she had to do was get to the bakery before he caught her. That dead end alley had almost been her undoing.

Something tight wrapped around her neck from behind, instantly choking her as she was roughly pulled back. She slammed into a firm body, her arms pinned to her side by someone easily four times her size.

"There she is, the little goody-goody." A familiar hateful voice said in triumph, moving into her line of sight.

She recognized her instantly, "Lila?"

"The name is Exposé." Lila said heatedly, "You think you've won, that someone like you could really beat me at my own game?!"

Marinette saw the purple energy whip in Lila's hand start to glow, and the tail end that was wrapped around her neck tightened. She struggled to get it out, "Your lies are what did you in. You just can't, hide behind them anymore."

"Because of you! I had everyone eating out of the palm of my hand and you had to go and ruin everything!" Lila screeched before asking her flatly, the whip beginning to glow black, "Now, let's expose all your lies. Let's start by,"

A loud whistle echoed around them, drawing their attention. Lila turned away from her to see Chat Noir dropping a safe distance behind her. There was a smile on his face, his voice light, but his eyes couldn't hide his anger, "Now, now, let's not get too hasty. Let the girl go."

Lila huffed, her grip on the whip tightening. "Stay out of the way Chat Noir."

"I can't do that." Chat said sternly, his eyes darting to her briefly in worry.

"Why not? What does this little nobody mean to you? All she does is ruin people's lives and takes their friends from them. She doesn't deserve your help, she deserves to have all of her secrets exposed and that's exactly what i'm going to do!" Lila turned back to her, yelling quickly, "Scream your biggest secret to all of Paris!"

Marinette felt Lila's power forcing the truth out of her, even as Chat Noir raced towards her.

But it was too late, the words came out of her loudly as she squeezed her eyes shut, "I'M IN LOVE WITH CHAT NOIR BUT CAN'T TELL HIM BECAUSE I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH ADRIEN AGRESTE TOO!"

Chat's baton made contact with the weird, camera-looking sentimonster and it let Marinette go. The sentimonster turned with a low growl, acting like a shield to keep Chat Noir away from Marinette. Lila was smirking in triumph, "Interesting. Tell me more."

Marinette covered her mouth with one hand while trying to pull the whip away, but Lila only smiled more, "It's useless to fight my power. Tell me something else, something you've never told anyone about you."

Marinette shook her head, and the whip connecting her to Lila began to glow again, "I said tell me!"

She couldn't keep it in, "I'VE WORN A MIRA-"

Chat's body slammed into hers, his hand covering her mouth as he called it loudly, "Cataclysm!"

He instantly touched the whip and it disintegrated to ash. Marinette coughed roughly, Chat lifting her up and vaulting away as Lila screeched in anger. Marinette clung to Chat tightly, still coughing as he ran, trying to get some distance. She knew that this was a worst case scenario happening right now.

Chat's time was running out before his transformation fell. She couldn't transform into Ladybug in front of him. Lila and her sentimonster would no doubt be right behind them. And to make matters worse, she had just screamed to all of Paris that she was in love with two boys, one of which was currently avoiding her gaze.

Chat took them up to the top of Montparnasse Tower, finally setting her down after making sure they weren't still being followed and asking worried, "You okay Marinette?"

She nearly flinched. Chat rarely called her by her actual name anymore, and certainly never with that kind of uncertainty. For weeks he had been calling her purrincess, at any given chance he had.

She nodded in silence, and he lifted her chin carefully, frowning at what he saw, "You're burned. I'm sorry I used Cataclysm so close to you. Ladybug's cure should heal you right up though." His ring chirped its first warning but Chat didn't move to leave.

She put her hand on his wrist, lowering his hand from her face, "You need to go."

"Honestly, I don't want to." He said quietly.

She lifted his hand, showing him the flashing ring, "You are going to transform back."

"I don't care." He told her honestly.

They stared at each other sadly without a word. Chat could see the struggle on her face at the forced confession, and honestly, his heart was still trying to figure out why it was hurting so much. He had been shocked to hear her say it, but then was instantly happy, until the second half of the sentence came out.

She was in love with both halves of him, and didn't know it. That was her biggest secret, that she was in love with what she thought was two people. Chat finally could take her silence and asked worried that she hadn't said anything yet.

"Do you really, love me?"

She looked away from him, her voice shaking, "I don't know."

"You sounded pretty sure earlier." He reminded her lightly.

She turned to look at him sternly, "I was under the influence of an akuma!"

"Who only forced you to tell the truth." He said quickly before asking sadly, "Is Adrien, he's the boy you were telling me about before, isn't he?"

Her face flushed but she nodded, embarrassed tears in her eyes, "You probably think it's stupid, just some unrealistic celebrity crush."

"I don't." He said quickly, his tail snapping behind him, "I, I just don't understand how, why someone as amazing as you could, be in love with someone like him."

His ring beeped again and she told him, "Chat you need to go, no one can know your identity."

"Only if you tell me why you've never told him how you really felt,"

"Because he'll never notice someone like me! I'm just a friend! That's all I'll ever be!" Tears streamed down her face as Chat stood there, staring at her as the pain in her eyes tore at his heart. "He's never looked at me that way. He's never seen how much he really means to me."

She wiped her eyes frustrated that she was even in this situation, "And then you come along, and you aren't anything like what everyone thinks. Yes you are a flirt, but you are also sincere and kind, and even though you put on this show as though you have all this confidence, I've seen the human underneath who is vulnerable and afraid."

His ring beeped out louder and she turned him around, pushing him away forcefully, "Go, we can talk about this later. I can't see you de-transform."

He easily turned back around and hugged her tightly, saying it stubbornly, "Then close your eyes, because I'm not going anywhere."

"Chat," she said sternly, trying to pull away, but he wouldn't let her, "No. I'm tired of hiding from you. I love you Marinette. I need you to know that. I should have told you weeks ago but I didn't because I didn't think that you saw ME as anything more than a friend."

He felt her stiffen in his arms, her voice shook as she asked shocked, "You, love me?"

"With all my heart." He said without a second's hesitation.

She knew it couldn't be true, "What about Ladybug?"

He only managed a half smile, "She made it very clear that there was someone she already loved, and I've accepted that he must be incredible for her to love him the way she does. I'm her partner and her best friend, but I'll never compare to him. When I accepted that," he lifted her eyes back to him, smiling a little more, "I realized that there was this beautifully kind and caring girl right in front of me, who I couldn't stop thinking about."

His ring flashed it's last warning and he smiled wider, "Well, not in front of me but, behind me, would be more accurate."

A flash of green washed over him, making Marinette close her eyes. She felt a gentle, ungloved hand on her face, "Please open your eyes."

She couldn't believe this. She wanted to know. It was killing her to have her eyes closed, and like the weakling she was, she caved.

Her eyes fluttered open, immediately catching familiar piercing green eyes. He smiled shyly, "Hi princess."

"A-Adrien?" She barely managed to get out as her eyes widened.

"Not, going to, make it," Plagg muttered dramatically as he floated down into Adrien's hand, "Need, cheese."

Adrien rolled his eyes, pulling out a piece of camembert from his pocket, "Hurry and eat Plagg, we still have an akuma to go after."

Plagg looked at her and winked subtly, "I think we still have time. Besides I'm sure Ladybug is already on the way."

Marinette nodded, "I'm sure she is. I'm glad Lila hasn't managed to find us yet."

He nodded, his face falling as she finally looked back at him, "Are you, disappointed that it's me?"

She threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, "Of course not. I love you exactly the same as I've always loved you, no," she pulled back to see his reaction, "I love you even more."

He smiled that beautiful, genuine smile she loved and pulled her close, "I don't know how I got this lucky."

She giggled, telling him, "I have a feeling I know how."

He looked at her confused and she took his hand, pulling him to hide with Plagg right behind them. She squeezed his hand and told him shakily, "Don't, don't be too mad at me okay? Just know that, you were the boy. It's always been you."

Plagg was smirking as he slowly munched on his cheese, knowing his kitten's reaction was going to be priceless.

Adrien asked with his head tilted slightly to the side, still confused, "What are you talking about Marinette?"

Marinette took a few steps back, calling her softly, "Tikki?"

Tikki flew out of her purse into view, Adrien's eyes widening to the size of saucers, his mouth dropping to the ground as the words left her, "Spots on!"

A flash of pink magic flew around her, and Adrien stepped back, tripping over himself and ending up on the ground. Plagg cackled loudly, grabbing his stomach, "Oh man, that was totally worth the wait."

Adrien stared at Ladybug, twisting her foot nervously into the ground. "Y-You, you're, m'lady." He meant it as a question, but realized he wasn't half as surprised as he thought. Shocked, amazingly relieved, but not surprised.

"I'm sorry Adrien. I'm sorry I kept hurting you as Chat. I never meant to,"

He was up in a second and had her in his arms the way he always dreamed, "Bugaboo, you were pushing me away, for me. I can hardly be upset about that, so don't apologize."

"WHERE DID THEY GO!" Lila's nearby screech forcing them to drop slightly to avoid being seen. Lila sounded thoroughly irritated, "What use are you, you stupid sentimonster, find them now!"

Ladybug moved to stand but Adrien grabbed her hand to stop her, "Wait, give me a second and we'll go together."

She shook her head, caressing his face, "Take your time. The last thing we need is for her to find you up here. She's a liar, but she's not stupid. She'll put it together." She kissed his cheek, gaining immense satisfaction at the scarlet blush making its way onto his face, "I can purr-tect my Kitty until then."

The scarlet of his face turned crimson but he was grinning widely, "Did you just pun m'lady?"

Ladybug stood, saying it easily with a teasing twinkle in her eye, "No idea what you mean." She jumped over the side where they were hiding and saw Exposé staring out into the city, the sentimonster nowhere in sight. That was a plus.

She whistled the same way Chat had earlier, and Lila turned angrily, "Oh great. Now I have a bug problem."

Ladybug knew it was pointless, but tried anyways, "We don't have to keep doing this Lila."

A whip of energy formed in Lila's hand as she cracked it at her side, "Save your breath hero."

Lila threw the whip towards her but she jumped out of the way. There was no way she wanted that whip to hit her a second time. She tried Chat Noir's tactic, telling Lila as though she didn't have a care in the world, "Aren't you trying to hit me? That wasn't even close. Can't you imagine the secrets I have that you could expose? I thought you'd be trying a little harder to 'whip' me into submission."

Lila growled and formed a second whip in her other hand.

Maybe goading her on wasn't the best idea.

She managed to get her yo-yo tangled with one of the whips, and Lila smirked. The second whip came cracking towards her, but a familiar silver baton caught it easily.

"Now, now Lila, paws off the Ladybug." Chat chided with a smirk. They pulled their weapons back, standing together as they put some distance between them and Lila, "Great timing Kitty."

"I aim to please m'lady." Chat said with a dramatic bow.

Lila's whip cracked between them, causing them to separate. "Where did you take Marinette alley cat?" Chat moved closer to Lila, "She's out of your reach." He lunged, keeping her back long enough for Ladybug to call her lucky charm. As the lucky charm formed in the air, Ladybug was lifted off the ground and pulled back, her yo-yo dropping from her hand.

"Ladybug!" Chat cried, seeing the sentimonster holding her in his iron grip.

He moved to free her, but Lila wrapped the whip around his ankle, sending him slamming into the ground.

The sentimonster held her out over the edge of Montparnasse, Lila telling him in triumph, "You want the Ladybug free alley cat? Hand over your miraculous like a good pet."

Chat saw the lucky charm just a few feet away. It was a yo-yo, with his Chat Noir paw on it. The Lucky Charm was meant for him. He knew what he had to do, "You'll never get my Miraculous."

He felt the whip tighten around his ankle and called it, "Cataclysm!" He snagged the whip, feeling it disintegrate and taking off towards the lucky charm.

"DROP HER!" Lila ordered.

Ladybug let out a short scream as he picked up the yo-yo with his paw print on it. He threw himself over the edge after her, his heart racing as his body collided with hers. He turned in the air, throwing the yo-yo up. He felt it catch and pulled as hard as he could, trying to slow their descent. Ladybug grabbed his baton and extended it, slamming it into the side of the building and further slowing their fall.

Their feet softly touched the ground, and Chat fell to his knees, pulling Ladybug with him, "You're okay. You're okay." He buried himself in her shoulder, breathing heavily in his panic.

She hugged him tightly, not caring that the crowd of people that had formed were watching them intently. "I'm okay Kitty."

"I, I almost lost you. I thought, I thought I wasn't going to make it." He said shakily, holding her tighter.

She kissed the top of his head, "I knew you'd catch me Kitty. You always do."

Her earrings began to beep, and it brought him out of his panic, "We have to finish this."

She nodded, handing him his baton. He handed her the lucky charm and they made their way back up Montparnasse. An irate Lila and her sentimonster were waiting for them. They didn't say anything to her this time, rushing her to try and end this as quickly as they could. Ladybug realized that the akuma was in Lila's necklace, and after a few minutes, finally managed to snag it.

"NO!"

She slammed the necklace into the ground, releasing the akuma. She caught it quickly, glad that she had managed to get her actual yo-yo back during the fight. She heard the sound of glass breaking as Chat shattered one of the lenses on the sentimonster. The dark blue feather rose into the air and she caught it with a relieved sigh.

"Bye bye little butterfly. Bye bye little feather." Ladybug said smiling. "Miraculous Ladybug!" The sentimonster disappeared and Lila returned to normal, glaring at them as they shared their usual fist bump.

Chat's ring began to beep in time with another beep from her earrings. They took off together, making a b-line straight for the mansion because it was closer than the bakery. Chat jumped into his room, hearing Ladybug land softly behind him, just as her transformation fell. He let his own transformation drop before pulling her into his arms, "I swear you scared one of my lives out of me m'lady."

She smiled to herself, hugging him back, "I'm okay Adrien."

"Can we pleeeeease be sappy AFTER cheese? I need Camembert!" Plagg whined.

"You can't even give them one minute Plagg?" Tikki scolded him with a stern look.

Plagg held his stomach protectively, "So empty, it's not fair."

They quickly fed their kwami's, Adrien asking her with a sly smile, "So, since I caught you earlier, does that mean I win the game?"

She corrected him, "You were supposed to catch Marinette, not Ladybug. It doesn't count."

"You're the same person!" He said pouting.

"Doesn't count." She said again.

He said it slyly, "I would have won."

"Oh please, you weren't even close." She said easily.

"Let's go again." He tried, hearing Plagg groan, "Ugh, not another transformation already. I won't do it!"

Tikki patted the top of Plagg's head, giving him a subtle wink as she said it sounding light, "Maybe you guys should rest for a little while, and maybe talk about what you are going to do now that you know you are in love with each other."

Plagg grinned at his counterpart lovingly. She was evil and Kwami's did he love her for it. Marinette and Adrien both started stuttering, their faces turning red as they jumped back away from each other in embarrassment at how close they had gotten.

The two kwami's laughed light-heartedly at their holder's embarrassment, ignoring the scoldings that came from laughing, but they didn't care. The walls had been brought down, and that was all that mattered.
