YAYAYAY!!!!! okay i grew up with lots of old people so my idea of dessert can be a little skewed at times but lets goooo.
the most mild of my favorite desserts would be fruit i really like fresh apple peeled and slice, with other fruits too it can be really good (plain banana is exception to me, unless you cook them combine them or cook them) dried fruit is also so so good.
jelly pouches (not regular jelly though) are so good i don't like the caffeinated ones though because they usually have too much caffeine for me with my low caffeine tolerance.
i personally consider coffee a kind of dessert because i add a lot of milk and a lot of sugar and sometimes even caramel or chocolate if i can get my hands on it, i don't have it often though.
i really like fruit preserves, which i could just eat with a spoon or on PANCAKES!!! PANCAKES ARE SO GOOD ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ADD BLUEBERRIES!!! BLUEBERRIES ARE SO GOOD TOO JUST IN GENERAL.
I LIKE HONEY LEMONADE, AND I LIKE MILK TEA WITH LOTS OF SUGAR AND SOMETIMES PUDDING IN THE MILK TEA AND ALSO BOBA.
AND I LIKE FLAN AND CARAMEL PUDDINGS AND CARAMEL WITH FRUIT AND CARAMEL IN MILKSHAKES AND CARAMEL APPLES AND CANDY APPLES AND ALL KINDS OF DONUTS, ESPECIALLY APPLE DONUTS OR BLUEBERRY DONUTS OR GLAZED DONUTS. AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE TIRAMISU. AND I REALLY LIKE LYCHEE SODAS WHICH ARE GOOD. AND I LIKE COLA SODAS WITH VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM TO MAKE SODA FLOASTS. AND CHOCOLATE CAKE (ONLY A LITTLE BIT, IT'S SO RICH) AND I LIKE CHOCO CORONET (I MENTIONED BEFORE) AND PIES. I LOVE PIES. AND I LOVE FRUIT TARTS, THE KIND WITH CHOCOLATE OR THE KINDS WITH PUDDING. AND I LOVE CROISSANTS WITH CHOCOLATE AND SUGAR COATING AND NUTS. AND THERE'S EVEN MORE.
my favorite kinds of pie are blueberry, but also cherry is so good, and lemon meringue, and lime pudding pie, and pumpkin pie, and yam pie, and apple pie, and pear pie, and cranberry pie, and peach pie, and i can't think of more pies immediately but i've had even more pies and i love them too.
oooooo dorayaki (with and without nuts) and taiyaki and zenzai and mochi and daifuku and all kinds of wagashi and creampan and melonpan and anpan and dango!!! MITARASHI DANGO!!!!!
omg and horchata drink, i live for some good horchata ohhhhh ohhhhh my god.
oh and sweet potatoes, delicious sweet potatoes.
and caramels!!! hard caramels and the chewy caramels and and
OMG AND S'MORES, I LOVE S'MORES AND TOASTED MARSHMALLOWS (so hard to find good ones without animal based gelatin... sometimes i pretend to myself that it's not animal based when i'm not Sure.)
oooooo, oooo and i'm missing so many, i love marzipan.
did i mention brownies? ohhhhh brownies. brownies how i love you. mmmm chocolates. oooo chocolates, i like chocolate bars and plain chocolate, and chocolate with mint or chocolate with coconut or chocolate with almonds or with wafers or with pretzels.
CHURROSSSSSSSS CHURRO!!!!! CHURRO!!!!!!! OMG CHURRO!!!!!
the mochi that my baba cooks in soysauce and sugar and gives me with seaweed. it's very savoury but also sweet and it's soooo good. it's so good. i love it, it's been at least like 8 months since i had it i should ask her for it when she's feeling well.
waffles are also sooooo good. mmmm i mentioned pancakes already but seriously pancakes too.
muffins and other sweet breads are sooooooo good. and especially when you add fruit preserves and HONEY!!!!!!!
blake this is almost a new kind of torture. all i have are chocolate candies but now i'm mentioning all these different fruits and baked goods and fried things and ohhhhh ohhhhhhh they're all sooooo good. sooooo good.
DID I MENTION CREPE? CREPE!!! CREPE!!!!!!!!
tamagoyaki is dessert if you believe. and i do.
rice candies ooooo, they're mild but good. mmmmmm. delicious.
seriously ice cream can be so good and ice cream bars and paletas and and ice pops and just frozen fruits aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
;w; i love dessert, i love sweets, i love candy, i love fruit, and i love nuts, and
I LOVE YOU!!!!!
your excitement is palpable, your energy is contagious, and your love is immense. i am filled with a desire to either eat or feed u as many of these as i can manage and i have a new bucket list. also i want to bake u things now
i love you by the way!!!

Street Food Vendor at Shotengai
There are many kinds of street food that one can enjoy in Japan. Although eating while walking down a street is considered bad manners, it is perfectly acceptable during festivals. Just be careful that you don’t spill your food or drink on passersby since festivals can get super crowded!
The street food sold here is packaged and meant to be eaten at home, at a park bench, etc. If you do find a seat and eat your snack at a park, or sidewalk bench, just remember that there are no public garbage cans. So, you can either take your food home and enjoy it, or eat it when it’s nice and warm, and then be sure to take your garbage home with you. At some festivals, however, where they expect you to eat and walk at the same time, there are often temporary garbage disposal sites set up so that your waste does not spoil the shrine or temple grounds, or the residents in the local neighborhood.
This street vendor seems to have rented out an empty shop that has been shuttered and no longer used for its original purpose. The foods sold here included:
たいやき|taiyaki (right sign) for 100 yen (about $0.70 USD): a cake shaped in the shape of a fish called tai, and filled with sweet red bean paste. Variations may include custard, chocolate cream, cheese, or sweet potato.
オムそば|omu-soba (middle sign) for 250 yen (about $1.72 USD): fried soba noodles wrapped in an egg omelet with various veggies, spices, and sauces.
サーター・アンダギー|sata andagifor (left sign) 100 yen (about $0.70 USD): sweet deep-fried buns of dough that are kind of like doughnuts, but originally from Southern China where the dish made its way to Okinawa and then throughout the rest of Japan.
Of all three, sata andagifor is probably my favorite, but the taiyaki is probably more common, especially at traditional festivals that are held throughout the year depending on the local shrine.

That last ask apparently got a reply to it per my friend.
>Dry aged beef steak and hearty beef tacos are in his favorite foods, though. I don’t think he dislikes heavy meats. I think he hates cheese based on his disliked foods, though. He not like the cheesy champion. Angry. Catboy no cheeseborgar.
This stems from a misconception about the game’s food mechanics! While TWEWY had five food tiers with different quotes, NEO has four food tiers but only three different sprites/voice lines, which can cause confusion. However, characters have foods that they ‘dislike’ (1/4), ‘tolerate’ (2/4), ‘like’ (3/4), and ‘love’ (4/4). I should note that I didn’t make this up; the official Japanese guidebook sets them into four tiers (shown as a batsu, triangle, maru, and double maru respectively).
You may have noticed that eating certain foods increases your drop rate, but other foods do not. Foods in the ‘love’ tier (4/4, ◎ mark) have a chance to increase drop rate—unlike any other food—and have the highest chance to incur food bonuses such as extra stats. The fourth tier thus differs mechanistically from the third, and the official guidebook differentiates between the two tiers.
When I refer to Minamimoto’s favourite foods, I am referring to the ones in the 4/4 ◎ tier. These are: Ice Cream Float, SKO Sandwich, Superhero Soda, Dark Chocolate Dream, Ruby Chocolate Delight, Strawberry Boba Latte, Mango Boba Latte, Very Berry Bouquet, Farm-Fresh Cream Cone, Chocolate Soft Serve, Berry Blend Tea, Bubbly Berry Blend, Masala Dosa, Anko Dango Skewer (also referenced in a goroawase pun), Crispylicious Taiyaki, Fluffy Pancake Stack, and Creamy Berry Shaved Ice. No meat! (The masala dosa served in-game lists potatoes, lentils, rice, sambar, and chutney amongst its ingredients. No meat.)
You’ll note from this that Minamimoto seems to especially adore berry-flavoured desserts. I think that all of the berry-favoured sweets are on his favourites list, while not all chocolate ones are, for example.  He has berry particular taste.
AMC-sama isn’t implying that Minamimoto hates all meat. Rather, she correctly points out that he dislikes meat the most out of the cast. He certainly isn’t a vegetarian or something like that, but every other character has at least one meat-containing dish on the 4/4 tier. Thus Minamimoto doesn’t say that he hates all 29, merely that 29 isn’t  his thing and that when he does like it, he prefers it well-done.
Thanks for tuning in to this random aside on a joke blog. I have a translated version of the food list from the guidebook available if you want to review it for yourself: doc (dot) google (dot) com/spreadsheets/d/1Q5QloDNAEqoJz3M4CF2617C9kbR_WMEYEpy2J7wVJF0

Tumblr media
Did you know that Japan is also known for its delicious desserts?
Japan has a distinct culinary culture with a rich food history and one of the world's most popular cuisines for all the right reasons. Subtle flavors explode in your mouth with a splash of sugar in Japanese desserts.
Tumblr media
Here are 5 Japanese desserts that will give you a sugar rush
1. Mochi
Tumblr media
It is a classic Japanese treat with a diverse flavor created from special sticky rice known as mochi gome. Mochi rice is cooked and molded into soft Mochi balls that can be toasted, dipped in sauce, or sweetened with kinako.

2. Dango
Tumblr media
Dango is a classic Japanese rice dumpling prepared with mochiko, a Japanese sweet rice flour comparable to regular mochi. Typically, three to five rice dumpling balls are impaled on a bamboo stick. Seasonal variants of this famous Japanese street dish are available all year.
Dango is a popular Japanese dessert that many recognize because of its distinctive emoji. 🍡
The emoji depicts the Hanami Dango, which consists of three dumplings, each of which has a different color:
Pink represents peach blossoms in the spring.
White represents snow.
Green represents leaves and fresh growth.

3. Taiyaki
Tumblr media
Taiyaki may be found on the streets, where sellers prepare fresh Taiyakis every day. It's a fantastic winter dessert that will warm your body and make you feel oozy. Taiyakis are fish-shaped pancakes with tasty fillings like red bean paste that are served warm.
Like most Japanese desserts like daifuku, Taiyaki has variations based on its filling:
Custard
Chocolate
Sweet potato
Ice Cream
Savory varieties can also be found with fillings like sausage and cheese.

4. Daifuku
Tumblr media
Daifuku are essentially pockets of mochi filled with various sweet fillings and are a popular delicacy in Japan. During the hot summer season, you'll commonly see daifuku ice cream; among all flavors, the most popular daifuku ice cream flavor is red bean paste, which has a delicate sweet taste and is a ball of refreshment to take a break from the scorching summer days.
This traditional Japanese dessert has many variations based on their filling:
Mugwort (Yomogi daifuku)
Sweetened Japanese apricot (Ume daifuku)
Coffee
Ice Cream
Strawberries and Anko/Sweet Cream (Ichigo daifuku)
How to make a Daifuku:
5. Dorayaki
Tumblr media
This is anko paste sandwiched between two castella pancakes. Castella is a Portuguese sponge cake that was transported to Japan in the 16th century and is still popular today. Dorayaki is currently offered with Nutella fillings between the pancakes and tastes quite cozy.
This traditional Japanese dessert got popularized by hit anime and manga character, Doraemon, whose favourite food is Dorayaki.
Similar to Taiyaki, it has variations based on its filling:
Custard Cream
Oreo
Chocolate
Matcha
Fruits like Strawberries and Blueberries

Now that you're familiar with Japanese sweets, make sure you try them and indulge in a decadent pleasure while on vacation in Japan. Choose a meal and eat these distinctive desserts to learn about Japan's culinary scene. What exactly are you waiting for?

headcanons: joshua & food
“love has always been the world’s best secret ingredient.”
while joshua doesn’t strictly need to eat, he loves food. he sees it as an art form, a way for people to express their passion and love, both for the food itself and for the people eating it. growing up, his parents rarely cooked for him, often forgetting to feed him at all. at the same time, mr. h would cook for him regularly, leading him to associate cooking (specifically being cooked for) with love. so while he does know how to cook, he’ll often pretend he doesn’t if he thinks it’ll lead to someone else cooking for him, and will rarely (if ever) cook alone at home now that he doesn’t need to to stay alive.
basics & general notes
joshua is a fairly adventurous eater and tends to be fine eating most things, with few things he outright hates.
his favorite flavor is umami (salty and savory) and his least favorite is bitter.
he’s not a big fan of sweet food.
he likes spicy food a lot, especially chili.
he didn’t like coffee at first, due to it being either bitter or sweet, but he drank it a lot because of his friendship with mr. h and, due to a mixture of exposure and fond associations, he grew to like it over time.
he usually likes vegetables, but not in soup.
pork is a neutral flavor.
generally likes seafood.
doesn’t like ice cream.
loves ramen.
doesn’t really like soy sauce.
going by the original game, his favorite foods are: definitivo chili dog, shio ramen, absolute shadow ramen, mushrooms, viper drink (some kind of energy drink), and sync bars (which i can only assume are absolutely disgusting energy bars that he eats like candy).

Relationships: Renguko Kyoujurou/Reader
Word count: 1,839
a/n: ahhhh!! i'm so sorry this took me so long to make. i hate writing when i'm not in the mood bc it signifiicantly depletes the quality of my writing and that's just no fair for you guys, i hope ypu enjoy this :) requests are open!
Tumblr media
To say that Kyoujurou simply enjoyed snacks was an understatement. He was a snack fiend. He had a bad habit of carrying snacks anywhere and everywhere. Compliments to Mitsuri for making him pick it up.
[Name] would watch him pull them out of his sleeves. His uniform pockets and occasionally from in between the buttons of uniform. On multiple occasions, he’d sneak some mini taiyaki and other times senbei. When she was around him and she’d catch him, he laugh at himself and offer her some, which of course she would never deny. Kyoujurou was too cute to deny in her eyes.
Until one day, she had noticed that he hadn’t been snacking all day. Not once, not even a nibble and even that was enough to spark some suspicion on her end.
[Name] pondered all the times she had seen him that day and each time she had remembered, he seemed a little sad. Was it because he ran out of them?
Just then she had conjured up an idea. What if I made a bunch of his favorite snacks? That would definitely cheer him up!
Honestly, [Name] would do anything to see him smile and she would stop at nothing to get it. And slowly, but surely, that is exactly what she did.
It became a daily routine to bring Kyoujurou any snack she knew he would enjoy. And of course, he would accept every time because he simply could not get enough of [Name's] homemade snacks. Every time that he would ask what she would add to her food, she would insist that the secret ingredient was "love".
Which would obviously fly over his head (god bless his heart) because Kyoujurou was so oblivious it hurt. But like [Name] had firmly stated with all her heart. She wouldn't stop at nothing to get what she wanted. And what she wanted was Kyoujurou. So like any corny, cliche storyline, [Name] had told Kyoujurou that she planned a sort of taste testing for an upcoming cooking competition she had.
But like the good spirited man Kyoujurou was, he happily agreed. He would do anything to help his fellow comrades out. [Name] could jump for joy, but she held it in and instead gave him a time to meet up her place. Kyoujurou smiled his usual smile before bowing.
"See you then!"
*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:
By this time, she had already been in the kitchen for over two hours now whipping up a bunch of Kyoujurou's favorite snacks. The oven dinged signaling that her sweet potatoes were done. She pulled them out and set them down on the counter. [Name] was delighted with herself because not only was she done, but she had successfully prepared everything. The sweet potatoes were roasted to perfection and she set the scallion butter she also made on the side.
Now she had sakura mochi, senbei and takoyai. She wanted to keep it both sweet and savory so that he could enjoy both equally. All that was left was to surprise him.
[Name] pulled her pocket watch out of her breast pocket and checked the time.
He should be here any minute.
Her heart was pounding in her chest the more she thought about it. Somehow she had mustered up the courage to ask Kyoujurou to come to her humble abode--alone. And (mostly) happily obliged. There was still the lingering sadness about him that made her heart ache.
"[Name]?' She heard his voice call out and her anxiety peaked as she rushed to the door with a scarf in her hand.
"Yes, stay right there, please!"
And immediately he halted all actions and words. [Name] opened her door to see the fiery blonde smiling brightly at her and her breath caught in her throat.
"Hello, [Name]." His expression now slightly surprised, mouth in an "o" shape as he points to her cheek. "What's this?"
[Name's] cheeks dusted with a pink hue as she swiped her face and looked at her finger to see flour on it. She seemed alarmed which was enough to cause him to laugh at her.
"You wanted to show me something?" His voice soft now. And it took every once of [Name] to look him in the eyes and when she did, she could tell the same sadness was clouding his gaze.
She gulped and nodded her head as she pulled put the scarf. "You gotta put this on first."
Kyoujurou's cheeks visibly pinkened but he agreed and bent his head down as [Name] gently wrapped the makeshift blindfold around his eyes. Her fingers brushing against his skin was enough to send a shiver down his spine as she felt the wisps of her hair tickle her skin. She tightened the knot and Kyoujurou felt a lump form in his throat.
Her hands now in his as she tugged him along to her kitchen. Neither of them spoke as she led them there. Just two hearts thumping silently against their chests, unbeknownst to one another.
"You can take it off now." Her voice barely a whisper, but he heard quite well.
Her unraveled the loose knot and his eyes were now fully uncovered. Kyoujurou felt his heart stammer a bit , while his fiery orbs widened in blissful surprise.
"Surprise!" She cheered and she jumped with arms wide.
Kyoujurou did not move, just simply stood there speechless. His eyes carefully scanned the counter that was filled with his favorite treats and then to [Name]. He didn't know how to feel in that moment. He didn't know another human being was capable of making him feel a million and one emotions all at once. No one had ever done him such a courtesy and it made his heart swell.
His silence caused [Name] to twiddle her fingers nervously awaiting a response.
"Do you not like it?" Her voice was a squeak now. He gulped as he blinked back the tears stinging at his eyes. And then he did something that [Name] least expected. He had enveloped her in his warmth and squeezed her with such tenderness that she had never felt before.
"Thank you, [Name]." He breathed out. His chin sat on her shoulder blade as he closed his eyes and a small tear slipped out. He quickly wiped it away before pulling back and looking at [Name] who was staring at him with broadened [e/c] hues.
"No one has ever done me the honor of blessing me with such a thoughtful surprise." His smile was bright and cheery as ever. [Name] felt like her heart was going to implode.
"I'm in love with you."
She just blurted it out. Not intentionally. It just kind of came out. So abruptly in fact, that Kyoujurou immediately started to burn up. No one had ever confessed to him (false, many have confessed but he always took it as admiration and would pat them on the shoulder and smile completely oblivious).
"Eh?"
Was all that came out of his mouth. He didn't know [Name] liked him like that?! Sure she was super pretty, but Kyoujurou always thought she would take a liking to Giyuu since she was always poking at him trying to get him to talk. It's not that he didn't find her attractive, he very much did. But, again, it just absolutely threw him off because in his mind she could have any man she desired. But him? She liked, no--loved him?
"Ah! I mean--I--"
[Name] was at an unfortunate loss for words and she couldn't do anything to take it back, so she just braced herself for the consequences.
"Y-you're--" He pointed to her. "in love with me?" He then pointed to himself in shock. And [Name] thought she was going to pass out.
"Uh, yes. I am in love with you, Kyoujurou. I hope that this doesn't ruin our friendship..."
[Name] felt defeated at this point. She really couldn't tell if he felt embarrassed because he didn't return her feelings or not. Kyoujurou finally swallowed the lump in his throat. He noticed that [Name] was on edge and obviously needed an answer and none of his antsiness.
"I didn't think I was your type. I am extremely flattered." He deadpanned as he bowed respectfully in most erect manner.
[Name] felt an embarrassed sweat drop on the back of her head form.
"Y-you are?"
"Yes! I would find it most desirable if we formed an intimate bond!"
"Uh, Kyoujurou."
"Yes!"
"You can stop bowing now."
"Right!"
Kyoujurou was met with [Name's] glimmering eyes and flushed face and he saw her for more than his fellow comrade.
"Do you mean that." She hesitantly stepped forward. He courageously embraced her face with the rough palms of his hands against her smooth skin.
"Yes, I do. It would be an honor to have you by my side. If you would let me, of course." His voice smooth and even as he spoke. An illusion Kyoujurou had to conjure up to steady his beating heart.
"The honor is mine."
[Name's] face leaned forward and he felt her breath delicately aerating against his skin. And that's when his illusion broke because Kyoujurou had turned just as fiery red as the hair on his head and turned away in agitation.
[Name] was confused by his sudden humiliation. Did her breath smell bad?
"M-my apologies. I just got a little apprehensive when you got close." He gulped dryly as he peeped at her expression, but [Name] just burst into laughter.
She didn't think she had the capability of turning Kyoujurou into a flustered mess, nevertheless here he was doing just that. Oh, how the tables have turned.
"We don't need to rush anything, Kyo." She held a hand over mouth to hide her delight.
His blush intensified at the nickname. How much more was she going to embarrass him?!
She grabbed his hand and led him to the table where she was going to set everything up.
"Let's eat."
He followed her lead and sat adjacent from her and instantly his mouth watered as she set the dishes in front of them
"Thank you, again, [Name]. Really."
[Name] waved a hand as if to reassure him it was nothing as she took a chunk out of her sakura mochi. He quietly took a bite from his sweet potatoes and he was filled immediately with the void he had developed from years of coldness.
Soft, supple lips found themselves on his cheek and he felt his face flare up mid bite. [Name's] melodious laugh filled the room as she confidently took a bite from his chopsticks. Oh yes, the tables have indeed turned.
"Thank you for coming." She flirted as she made her fingers walk on his lap. His eyes followed them as they got closer to his upper thigh and he wondered where the shy [Name] had went. Another fit of laughter bubbled out of her throat as she faltered to the tatami mat.
"You are so cute, Kyo!"
It was only the beginning of [Name] driving Kyoujurou insane.

Did you know Herobrine and Steve loves summer and trendy outfits, because they wish they could meet their brother again to celebrate summer party, for example: Beaches, Disco, Dancefloor, ect. ^_^
Ouh. Well, as for Usagi-Ijah, she likes to spend her time with her friends at Japan, when the summer started, they are planning to go somewhere for holiday, vacation I must say. And their favourite snack or food they would like to eat is kakigori, Japanese shaved ice dessert! With syrup flavour and a sweetener, often condensed milk. She also went to the summer party like, beaches, dancefloor, karaoke to sing, etc! Ouh! And you see Usagi's favourite food is sushi, taiyaki, zaru soba, unagi and yakitori! While Yumaki's (Usagi's 1st friend) favourite food is somen, taiyaki, unagi, sushi, anmitsu and yakisoba. For Mayuki's (Usagi's 2nd friend) is ramen, shabu-shabu, yokan, hiyayakko, and hiyashi chuka. And their most favourite food is mochi, sushi and sashimi! ^^
Taiyaki: A Japanese fish-shaped cake, commonly sold as street food. It imitates the shape of tai, which it is named after. The most common filling is red bean paste that is made from sweetened azuki beans. Other common fillings may be custard, chocolate, cheese, or sweet potato.
Zaru soba: A Japanese dish of chilled soba noodles. The dish is typically served with freshly grated wasabi, thinly sliced scallions, tsuyu (mentsuyu), and a dipping sauce made from soy sauce, dashi (made with both kelp and katsuobushi, or dried bonito flakes), mirin(For Muslim, they usually use vinegar, cuz Mirin is made by alcoholic), and sake(Even sake is also alcoholic, so, Muslim use the vinegar only).
Unagi: The Japanese word for freshwater eel, is an elongated fatty fish, rich and bold in flavor.
Yakitori: Bite-size marinated pieces of beef, seafood, or chicken on skewers
Somen(Aka white noodle): Thin, white, noodles usually served cold and accompanied by dipping sauce.
Anmitsu: A Japanese dessert that dates to the Meiji era. It is made of small cubes of agar jelly, a white translucent jelly made from red algae. The agar is dissolved with water to make the jelly.
Yakisoba(Aka fried noodles): A Japanese noodle stir-fry dish. Usually soba means buckwheat, but soba in yakisoba means Chinese noodles (Chuuka soba) made from wheat flour, and are typically flavored with a condiment similar to Worcestershire sauce.
Ramen(Aka noodle): Quick-cooking egg noodles usually served in a broth with bits of meat and vegetables.
Shabu-shabu: A Japanese dish consisting of thinly sliced beef and vegetables cooked briefly in simmering broth at the table.
Yokan: A jellied dessert or confection made typically from a thick red-bean paste, sugar, and agar, formed into a solid block and eaten in slices.
Hiyayakko(Aka chilled tofu): A classic Japanese side dish. Say bye to "plain old tofu" with colorful toppings like scallions, ham and shiso, and enjoy with a versatile konbu soy sauce
Hiyashi chuka(Aka chilled Chinese): A Chinese noodle style Japanese dish consisting of chilled ramen noodles with various toppings served in the summer.
Mochi: A Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice, and sometimes other ingredients such as water, sugar, and cornstarch. The rice is pounded into paste and molded into the desired shape. In Japan it is traditionally made in a ceremony called mochitsuki.
After they done having a fun, they went back to the summer house to rest. And they make barbecue at night for dinner. They also made sandwich too! Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But, Mayuki had a peanut allergic, so, she eats jelly sandwich only instead peanut butter.
For Neko-Sufi, even she lives her own in the big house at forest, she has friends, Maria, Elisa and Rolanda, she meets at café she usually go. So, she can go to the vacation with them on summer. Like went to the beaches, dancefloor and karaoke to sing. And their favourite snack is s'mores, ice cream, slushy and etc.
S'mores: A sweet snack consisting of a chocolate bar and toasted marshmallows sandwiched between graham crackers.
After they done, they went back to the hotel to rest

201025 Kangsung Fancafe Update
It’s Gonna Be November Soon!
It felt like autumn only a little while ago, but now it’s almost November and it already cold! I like the cold wind! Even when you’re not thinking about anything, when you’re out in the cold, it feels refreshing when it blows through your hair and reminds you of the past. But I hole you all dress warm since it’s cold haha After the fansign, I want to see you more often and communicate with you face to face. It’s a shame that we can’t see each other every day after promotions ended, but we’re preparing a lot, so please wait a just little bit longer! I hope you all eat tangerines and sweet potatoes and taiyaki while huddled under warm blankets (That’s how I spend my time in the winter (ㅇ-ㅇ) ) Well, goodnight everyone! If you have the time, I hope you dream about me...💙

Note
That awkward moment when your aunt blurts out at the table "Oh my god Clairee, she's pregnant!" Because I made a sandwich with the sweet potatoes and dinner rolls. It started when I tried sweet potato taiyaki. I LOVED it! I was putting extra sage and gravy over my cornbread dressing. I also had another dinner roll dipping it in pickle juice. This is how I eat lmao. My uncle looks at me "Why have you done this?" I couldn't talk because my mouth was full. My cousin like "Name it after me!" Omg.
lol anon
but also y’all just have pickle juice out  during thanksgiving?

Busy Arashiyama
After our scenic walk we had a quick toilet break at the souvenir shop area which was bustling with tour buses and all of their passengers. Selma had a look in the souvenir shops for some gifts to send her family for Christmas while Rezki and I had a taste of a matcha chu-hi (like a Japanese RTD) looking out over the bridge. It was very bitter on the first sip but the aftertaste was actually quite nice and we got a bit of a buzz from the alcohol. The streets were now packed, such a contrast from when we had arrived on the chilly early morning to a deserted train station! Rezki and Selma lined up for a deep fried tofu/cheese skewer while I went for the potato and bamboo shoot croquette instead. I dub this street “snack street” because there were many stalls with fast food that looked and smelled quite delicious even to me! I bought a few waffle cakes, one matcha flavor and one cream, and then Selma and I waited a long time for a delicious taiyaki that was more like a custard filled fluffy pancake than the crispy taiyaki we had eaten in Osaka. Our final snack was a giant mountain of deep fried sweet potato sticks covered in some sort of sweet sticky syrup – unfortunately this one was definitely a tourist trap that we fell straight into! But we had enjoyed our morning, feeling very Japanese out here watching the domestic tourists walking around in their kimonos and sandals experiencing their own traditional culture. I can imagine that when it is packed with international tourists the vibe is totally different but now the Japanese can enjoy their own heritage and we felt privileged to be able to share it with them this autumn.
We rode back into the central Gion station, hailed a cab and drove up to the Kiyomizu Temple. The driver dropped us off at the base of the busy pedestrian street where we walked up to the temple past lots of omiyage shops and food stalls amongst even more people wearing their kimonos. At the top we bought our entrance tickets and walked through the temple to see some amazing views over Kyoto while smelling intense incense scents wafting through the air. Despite the amount of people, it was still very quiet and peaceful to wander around the temple balconies and take photos. I recall just a couple of American kids screaming at their mother to walk faster up the hill... We walked slowly back down the street, taking the time to look in a few shops on the way to Nineizaka (an ancient Kyoto street) and the Yasaka Pagoda where we watched the sunset as Rezki took photos in the changing light of dusk. We went in search of dinner on the Gion side of the bridge but it was well out of our price range so eventually we settled on Gyu Kaku in Kawaramachi for a delicious yakiniku barbecue. The meats and vegetables were coated in a variety of different delicious sauces, our unanimous favourite was the ginger beef, and we had all-we-could-eat for about ¥3,000 each! We searched for a matcha café for dessert but everything was closed except for Baskin Robbins so I chose a white tiramisu ice cream and Rezki made a Japanese combo of matcha, red bean, and kinako. At Selma’s hotel we sat in the lobby and planned our last ditch effort to see the Golden Pagoda Kinkaku-ji early tomorrow morning before returning to Hokkaido.

Izumi Iori: Xmas Magic Rabbit Chat Part 3
Tsumugi: Iori-san, good work. Tomorrow is the day of the show huh!
T: Seems like there will be huge trees and lots of food stands at the place, I’m really looking forward to it…!
Iori: Good work. You’re also in a festive mood huh. You guys trouble me.
T: Also meaning..?
I: Rokuya-san started to search on the internet for what kind of food stands will be there tomorrow, and people who are interested in knowing have started gathering in his room.
I: Rokuya-san’s PC is big but his room is narrow...
T: Then Iori-san was also a person who was interested in the food stands huh! lol
I: I was just dragged along by Nanase-san!
T: But I’m also interested! Does something look good?
I: Seems like they’ll have the standard food stands’ food. Like candied apple or crepes or something.
T: I’ve become hungry… lol
I: That’s quick. I’ve only said the sweet things.
T: Excitement,,!
I: Also something like grilled organic vegetables, which Yuki-san would like, and something unique like Italian SpagSticks. [T/N: Fried spaghetti.]
I: There were food stands who were using anime character images without permission, so Rokuya-san is saying something bad in English.
T: Oh no… I can only think about the food stands...
*T: Was there something you wanted to eat?
I:There’s something called a Taiyaki Parfait and I’m a little curious. There’s ice cream coming out of the taiyaki’s mouth.
I: What do you want to eat?
T: I want to eat sweet-salty flavored grilled squid with mayonnaise!
I: What is that old man kind of choice...
T: It’s delicious tho?!
I: I mean I get it but isn’t that the same as Nikaido-san.
T: It’s not like young people…?
I: Well, just from appearances you seem like you’ll choose crepes like Yotsuba-san and Nanase-san would.
T: Of course I love crepes too!
I: I’m sorry, Manager.
T: What happened?
I: Now Rokuya-san has started to play as the food stand’s staff which I don’t understand. What should I do to stop him...
I: He is asking me to be the customer who wants to buy okonomiyaki...
T: Doesn’t that seem fun! lol
I: I’m ashamed to say this, but I never lined up and purchased something from food stands. Except when I was little and together with Nii-san and my parents...
T: I see. To his absurd request, let’s answer it with an absurd response! Try to line up to his stand like if you are buying it with someone next to you.
I: Next to me… Is Nanase-san.
T: Iori-san is going to a festival with Riku-san and you wanted to eat okonomiyaki. Let’s order it!
I: I can’t order it when Rokuya-san is screaming “wELCOME! HOT, HOT! tHE BIGGEST DISCOUNT SERVICE!”! First of all, if any of the staff is screaming like this, no one will come!!
T: I could hear it in Nagi-san’s voice...Lol
I: Yeah, Nikaido-san and Nii-san went back because they didn’t want to be caught up in it. Ousaka-san and Yotsuba-san are still using the internet...
T: Fight, Iori-san! If you overcome this, you can line up to any food stands alone!
I: And now Nanase-san has started to change a fundamental part, saying “I don’t like having seaweed stuck in my teeth so I prefer not to have okonomiyaki.” I can’t deal with this anymore.
I: [Shivering Kinako Stamp]
T: I-Iori-san..!
V2:
T: Oh no… I can only think about the food stands...
T: What did everyone want to eat?
I: Nikaido-san and Nii-san said they want to eat deep fried food while holding a beer in their hand... Osaka-san wants extra spicy ramen, Rokuya-san wants a baked potato with butter. It seems Yotsuba-san and Nanase-san are good with normal crepes. They said they like thick crepes with fewer ingredients.
I: What do you want to eat?
V3:
T: Oh no… I can only think about the food stands...
T: Buying from the stands then walking while eating is good!
I: Well, isn’t it fine sometimes. But it’s easier to eat while sitting. Especially with these two who would definitely drop the food and stain their clothes and their mouths. I won’t say who these two are.
I: What do you want to eat?

Hi ♡ could you (and v, if that's possible) list some of your favourite dishes from the Asian cuisine? I'm really bad at wording things but I've seen you talk about curry here and I googled it and it looked so delicious. I'm very unadventurous when it comes to food, and I've never really tried any Chinese or Japanese dishes, for example. now I'm curious what I might like, and though I can google for recipes, I'd like to know your faves and recommendations :) x
…oh Merlin this isn’t going to be easy as I eat everything but I’ll try to organize it for you :D This is just a small list to try as most of these will have a rather tame starting flavor until you get more adventurous, but they will give you an idea into regional tastiness
( I say this cause my favorite Japanese food besides curry is slimy fermented soybeans so…I don’t want to scare you off)
Under cut cause this is gonna get long.
Chinese:
cha siu bao (I know it by the Philippine siaopao) Steamed bbq meat bun yum
Shumai - tasty dumpling 10/10
Har gow - shrimp dumpling
Congee - Rice porridge, super good if you’re sick too
Hot pot - Simmering spicy soup broth that you cook at the table with raw veggies and meat. You add your meats and veggies little by little until they’re cooked and then eat with white rice
Char siu -  BBQ pork
Peking duck - roast duck that comes with sweet sauce omfggg
Sweet bread. All Chinese sweet bread. Just…YES
Filipino:
Chicken Adobo - staple. Can eat this for days. Slow cooked chicken legs in chile vinegar and calamansi soy sauce over rice
Lechon - Roast pork, usually served for special occassions but damn….so good
Sinigang soup - tangy tamarind soup that makes you drool cause it’s that perfect sour spicy
Pancit Palabok - noodles, shrimp, pork, garlic (I personally love these but I’ve learned it’s a hit or miss cause it’s kinda fishy)
Sisig: Sizzling pork! Garlicky and tangy pork bits
Turon: Fried banana rolls with jackfruit
Halo Halo - dessert of the Filipino gods. I usually dislike ice cream but damn…this is good. Has ube ice cream (sweet purple potato?) sweet beans, young coconut and evaporated milk
TAHO - I LIVE FOR TAHO. Soft tofu in sweet syrup
Korean:
Bibimbap - Veggies, marinated meat, kimchi over rice. Stone pot bibimbap is served in a baked stone pot that you eat out of and it roasts the rice at the bottom (which I always burn myself on)
Bulgogi: Savory marinated BBQ beef
You know what, just Korean BBQ is life mmkay?
Japchae: Fried sweet potato noodles and meat
Jajangmyeon - Black bean noodles (also a hit or miss but it’s one of my favorites)
Pajeon: best snack food :D Green onion fried pancake
Vietnamese:
Pho: Best noodle soup you can get omg, best with meatballs or thin slices of beef
Bún thịt nướng: Cold vermicelli noodles topped with hot meat. Comes with this sauce that I want to know the recipe to cause damn
Bò lúc lắc: Cubed bbq beef with veggies yum
Bánh mì: I SWEAR BY THIS SANDWICH. Baguette with sliced meat, pickled daikon and carrots, and pate. Great with Sriracha hot sauce in it
cà phê đá: Vietnamese coffee. I will drink this on my deathbed. Strong Chicory coffee with condensed milk
Japanese (oh no, the long list)
Ramen: real ramen, not the cheap one. Best with pork belly
Curry: Cause yes. Trust me.
Unagi Don: Grilled eel covered in eel sauce on top of rice
Katsu don: Breaded fried pork or chicken over rice
Yakitori: Skewered BBQ meat and veg
OKONOMIYAKI: AAAAAAAAA Osakan legend food. Fat pancake of veggies and shrimp covered in sweet sauce and Kewpie mayo (best with alcohol)
Soba: Cold noodles you dip in savory sauce and serve with anything, great in summer (can be served in hot soup too)
Miso soup: Best side soup to any dish
Shabu Shabu: Japanese hot pot, different from Chinese as the broth is milder
Gyu don: marinated beef and onion on rice
Chawanmushi: Egg pudding, not sweet but savory
TAIYAKI: Fish shaped sweet cakes! So cute! So tasty!
MOCHI: Chewy pounded sweet rice that usually has sweet fillings called daifuku
DANGO: My personal favorite dessert. Chewy sweet rice dumplings on a stick
Crepes: I’m sorry France, but Japan mastered sweet crepes, hands down
Anko: Sweet red bean (hit or miss) the original way to sweeten desserts before sugar was introduced to Japan
- -
There are more from other regions of the world, but I haven’t tried enough dishes to give a full report. Until then, I hope this list helps :D

Good fat? Bad fat?
A new dessert store recently opened up in Ala Moana called Somisomi. Being an avid dessert lover, I had to try it.
Tumblr media
I got the upside down ah-boong with milk & Oreo ice cream and custard filled taiyaki. It's unlimited free toppings so I topped it with fruitty pebbles and crushed Graham crackers. You have the option of choosing macaron or an edible orchid flower (who knew?!) to top it off.
Tumblr media
All in all, I was disappointed. The fruity pebbles overpowered the flavor of the ice cream. I would never have guessed this was milk & Oreo flavor. The taiyaki fish was crispy- at first- and it was filled with one bite size scoop of thick custard. The custard was more like a thick vanilla pudding. This whole dessert was cloying (new vocab: it means sickingly sweet!) and I felt like I was gonna get diabetes right then and there. I didn't eat the orchid though... Maybe I should have. It could have been the best part of this dessert.
-----
Mustering on, I went to get dinner at the food court after. I haven't had Chicken Factory in a long time and I wanted the prime rib with fried chicken. Lots and lots of fat!
Tumblr media
To make it a tad bit more healthy, I got mashed potatoes with gravy and zucchini. I also.got a side of mac and cheese. The gravy was delicious. And the prime rib was loaded with fat.
Tumblr media
Just look at that piece!
It was juicy, easy to cut and easy to chew. It paired nicely with the gravy mashed potatoes.
The mac and cheese was alright. Nothing special. The zucchini was pretty good. It was cooked with some kind of red colored oil. The fried chicken was tasty and had the crispiest skin. There was so much food, I couldn't finish it.
Fat really can make or break a food. Overly sweet fat is not good, but meat fat is always good. Especially bacon fat... Mmmmm 😋

“So with your beetles—”
“Kikaichu.”
“Kikaichu. With those, and with Kiba’s sense of smell and Hinata’s Byakugan… does anything get past your team?”
“Not many things.”
The two sit together, legs crossed, on the bank of the lazy river that cuts through the north of Konoha. From above them, on the cobbled path cutting through a grassy park, they can hear the shouts and calls of food vendors as they peddle leftover festival wares to housewives and the children still too young to attend school. Every so often, a batch of okonomiyaki fizzles on a skillet, cutting through the indistinct noises of civilians and youngsters.
Between their knees sits a shallow paper cup stacked with pork yakitori and skewered grilled zucchini, peppers and eggplant (“Crowd favorites in Suna,” the vendor claimed), and on each of their laps sit twin taiyaki, each wrapped loosely and cooling; Sakura reaches out for a skewer of meat and picks a slice off with her teeth. She chews thoughtfully as she considers her steaming chocolate-filled taiyaki, warming her thigh through wax paper.
“So I bet you three go on a lot of tracking missions,” she muses. A tiny breeze ruffles her hair, and she looks north, examining the tops of trees.
Shino drops his spent skewer into their basket, then pushes a pair of pork skewers aside in search of the last veggie selection. “We did for a while. Hinata doesn’t get assigned to away missions often.”
He pauses, almost imperceptibly, then continues. “Also, there will not be any letters from Sasuke today.”
Sakura splutters and drops her pork yakitori into the grass. A delegation of beetles creep from Shino’s sleeve and settle on the meat, tearing at the sticky skin with tiny black jaws. “The reason is that there’s not enough wind high up today. A hawk won’t fly as well without a jet stream.”
“I wasn’t looking for a letter this time!” Sakura cries. One hand grabs at her taiyaki, saving it from dropping to the ground, while the other swats at Shino’s arm. “Don’t be so mean!”
“Please stop—”
“—if you keep teasing me, I’ll start teasing you!”
“—Sakura, please stop hitting me—”
“Hey, and your kikaichu are eating my lunch.” Sakura leans forward to snatch Shino’s taiyaki from his lap; before he can protest, she takes a huge bite of it, dripping a glob of sweet potato filling onto the grass. “‘M gonna eat yours, then.”
She watches as one of the beetles (Yukari? Yukimaru, maybe?) abandons the pork in favor of the sweet potato filling. Even though this one is just a baby—each beetle lives no more than a day, Shino claims—she’s learned its personality, how it differs from its relatives, the way it moves quicker than the others. Each tiny black pinpoint is a miniature life.
“Sakura…”
Right, Shino. She looks up from the beetles, holding the stolen taiyaki out for the taking—
His face is dusted with a pale pink, just the slightest twinge of color, and his eyebrows furrow deeply. “Please stop teasing me.”
“Oh, wow.” Sakura passes the taiyaki back with a wry smile. “So you do have emotions, huh?”
The pale pink vanishes in favor of a scowl, and Shino turns away with his snack. Yukari-Yukimaru—maybe this is just Yuu—skitters up to Sakura’s hand and twitches its antennae, begging for gentle strokes along its tough shell.
Long minutes pass in relative silence. Slowly, the rest of the food is split between the shinobi or offered to Shino’s beetles. The weak breeze dies down and leaves the river glassy-still, reflecting back the midday sun; they’ve been at lunch for long enough.
Sakura stands and, after a moment of consideration, offers her hand to Shino. “We should get back to work,” she comments, more to the grass than to him. “Come on, let’s start walking.”
He takes her hand, squeezing gently as Sakura pulls him to his feet.
“I don’t know.” Sakura takes a long sip of coffee, heated in a kettle many hours after its original brew, and watches her feet as they dangle off the edge of Shino’s work table. “I just don’t feel good lately.”
“I understand,” Shino comments. A medicinal leech, grown in a chakra-infused egg, crawls over his fingers, seeking out the tissue samples that he shields from its sight; its training is slow and tedious, and Sakura’s glad that someone else is assigned to the task.
She sets the coffee aside and folds her heavy hands in her lap. “Well, thanks for understanding.” Sakura watches the leech out of the corner of her eye, almost too tired to be disgusted. “Naruto always just says that I’m really cheerful and I can’t be sad if I act like that, and Ino just… doesn’t get it, somehow.”
Some part of her imagines what Sasuke would have done; he’d stand slowly, towering over her, and gently take her face in his hands. It wouldn’t even be romantic, the way their foreheads touch—it would be sweet and understanding, as if to make their psyches meld together through their foreheads. He’d tell her everything is alright. She’s beautiful and strong and—
“You’ll pull through.” Shino looks up at her for a second before turning his face back to the leech, munching on healthy tissue instead of the diseased sample nearby. It’s failed the test for the third time in a row, and he plucks it from the tissue sample to replace it in its tank. “Sadness is a part of life. It’s a reality of shinobi existence.” He stands and pushes his chair in. “I am going to get a granola bar. Would you like me to reheat your coffee?”
She’s beautiful and strong and she needs warmer coffee and maybe some men who are more like Sasuke. “Sure. That… that would be great.”
Shino exits quietly with her coffee cup in hand, and Sakura wonders if her daydreams apply to Sasuke, either.
Dinner tonight was a bad idea.
Sakura, over the course of the day, had assisted in four surgeries (two of which were back-to-back procedures), cleaned three operating theaters and prescribed enough allergy medicine to outpatients to keep the entirety of Konoha sniffle-free for years. By the way Shino’s beetles avoid her open hand, his day clearly hasn’t been much better.
But even so, a dinner agreement is a dinner agreement. The new yakisoba place in the southtown district won’t try itself out. So even with drawn faces and only a few pleasantries, the two weave through the Friday-night crowds and advance down the north-south avenue outside the hospital.
The service is slow; Shino seems content enough to watch little Tsukimi run circles on the table, but Sakura has to keep reminding herself how new the shop is. At least it isn’t crowded. Where is the waiter?
Thirty minutes into their wait, she glances out the window to see their waiter, who’s smoking outside the front entrance. Sakura feels creases appearing in her forehead.
“Tsukimi seems pretty energetic,” she comments, trying to lighten her own mood. The beetle climbs over Shino’s extended fingers and explores the greasy bottle of soy sauce on their table.
“She didn’t have anything to do today,” Shino replies. “She’s still too young to help.”
“And by work on Monday, she’ll be long gone.”
Shino drums his fingers gently on the table. “As they say, ashes to ashes.”
“You’re not sad about that?”
He looks up, the corners of his mouth tight, little creases showing under his dark glasses. “I am sad about it. My insects are like family to me.”
Sakura tosses her hair and frowns out the window at the waiter, who’s now chewing the end of his cigarette and picking at his nails. “I’ll buy you a drink,” she offers. “Make you feel better.”
“I don’t drink.”
She gives a long, weary sigh. “Don’t drink, don’t smoke… what do you do? Anything fun?”
With a faint buzz, Tsukimi alights on her hand. “You’re teasing again,” Shino comments.
“Come on, that’s not teasing.” For once, her Inner Sakura shakes her head; what kind of day has she had that her rowdy inner thoughts aren’t on board with her exterior? But this line of conversation is a runaway train, and the same urge that scratches at scabs and overthinks past arguments prompts her further: “How’s this for teasing?”
And she reaches for Shino’s glasses.
Gently, he pushes her hand away. “Stop that.” Once again, the pink color rises in his cheeks, almost too subtly to be noticed. “I have brown eyes and short eyelashes, if that is what you wanted to know.”
“Seeing is believing. Come on, Shino.” She presses his hand to the table and reaches out with the other.
“Sakura.” Shino leans back in his chair and turns his face away from her grasp. “Really.”
Tsukimi pinches the back of her hand suddenly, and her arm jerks away from his face just as Shino stands. The beetle flutters into his sleeve as quickly as it can. Around them, the near-empty restaurant is silent.
“I’m going to go home,” Shino says. He turns abruptly and exits, ignoring her calls and protests.
Five minutes later, their food arrives. Sakura eats slowly and boxes Shino’s food to take with; maybe one of his relatives will hand it over to him tomorrow morning.
She tries to take Shino’s advice: it’ll be okay. But it hurts to push a friend to their limits.
