I guess I'll post the things I made in 2023 since this seems to be a thing we are doing

Socks I knitted this winter! The blue ones were a Yule gift for my mom. She loves them and has said she'd love another pair in grey. The purple one I finished yesterday, Dec 30th, and I've just finished the heel on the second sock. These socks all have mismatched heels because both I and my mother have two different sized feet so we need a way to tell which sock is which.

Potholders I made as holiday gifts. Laying here on one of mt current WIPs, a pair of palazzo pants I am embroidering the hem of before I sew them together.

I dyed some yarn this year! I couldn't find a picture of the blacklight reactive yarn I dyed. And I'm too tired to go find it. The Royal blue was for my gf's still unfinished Yule gift 😅

Handkerchiefs! I tatted an edging for both of these and embroidered the violets on the purple one. DMC 550 is my favorite color so the violets and the tatted edge both are that color. The blue one came with the design on it already. I just tatted the edge.

Last but not least, I came up with this double moss stitch triangle shawl pattern. It still needs a good blocking. I'm going to tweak it a bit and write it all out and hopefully sell the pattern sometime next year.

Not pictured: the hot pink palazzo pants I made (currently wearing them) that I couldn't find a picture of, another pair of socks, several cat toys, and two band shirts I turned into crop tops. Also I mended a pair of pyjama pants I've been meaning to mend since literally last winter.

when you're struggling with being pissed off full of rage after dealing with extensive torture and loss and no one understands besides your slightly evil gf who is ready to root you on

A loud crash drowned out the mechanical whoosh of the door as it slid open to reveal Bix in mid-swing. She had struck the workbench and sent everything from spare parts to a flickering holoprojector flying. Wayward objects skittered across the floor in all directions and even collided with Imogen’s boots as she stepped through the threshold. The bounty hunter observed the scene for a moment, not entering the other woman’s space any further than she had.

Immense frustration crackled through the air between them like an electrical storm while Bix inhaled and exhaled heavy breaths through her nose. Imogen noted dots of crimson welled at the edge of her hand from the force of her strike. A droplet trickled onto the now barren surface of the metal table as she clenched her hands into tight fists, but Bix did not seem to notice the injury or care.

Imogen sighed, announcing her presence.

Bix shot her a sharp glare over her shoulder. The mechanic was not happy to see her. “Are you going to tell me to get a grip, too? That this isn’t me?”

A small, patient smile upturned at the corner of Imogen’s mouth. “Your anger is one of the reasons I felt so drawn to you, love.”

“Then what do you want?” Bix snapped as she rocked forward with a shaky sigh. One of her fists raised a few inches, but it rested back on the cold surface of the tabletop with barely subdued intention. Imogen felt if she had not been present, then there may have been a dent in the thick metal. “I’m not in the mood, Imogen.”

“I urge you to remember who you are talking to,” Imogen replied and moved closer, stepping around the scattered objects. “I would never ask you to cast your anger aside, Bix.” Once she came up beside her, Imogen gently reached for her hand to inspect the cut. It didn’t appear very deep and there were no signs foreign shards stuck in her flesh that Imogen could discern. “However, it does concern me to see it control you.”

Bix scoffed humorlessly and yanked her hand away. “You say that like I have a choice.”

“You do.”

The simple response caused the mechanic’s anger to spike like a bolt of lightning. “So what am I supposed to do, huh? Be like you? Act like nothing fazes me and then threaten to dismember someone at the slightest inconvenience?”

Imogen did not react to the bitter jab, taking her lover’s outburst in stride. She knew that anger too well, it lived within her. Always. Imogen stepped back and began to collect the mess strewn across the floor. The handheld holoprojecter was the only thing that had been damaged significantly.

“All you need is focus,” she said.

Bix narrowed her eyes, deepening her scowl. “Focus.”

“Anger is a valuable tool if you allow it to be.” Imogen returned the first handful of items to the table and paused. Then she unclipped the saber hilt at her belt and held it up, the light dancing along the gilded electrum accents as she turned it. “This weapon is my rage. The crystal within it holds my pain, my shame, even my fear, and converts them all into a current of power. It focuses my emotions and allows me to wield what would otherwise cripple me.”

“Are you saying I need to build my own lightsaber?” Bix asked incredulously.

“No. I am saying that you must find your own focus for this wild rage inside of you. It is your ally. Work with it. Do not fight against it,” Imogen instructed, placing her hilt down and resuming her task of tidying up.

Bix rolled her eyes. “Please don’t feed me some Jedi nonsense right now.”

“This is not Jedi nonsense. The Jedi foolishly discouraged such emotions. To them, the natural sentient experience was a liability. We were instructed to let go of what we felt instead of understanding it. To surrender our will to the Force. That is nonsense. I do not wish to see you surrender, Bix.” While Imogen knelt on the floor, she spotted the blaster she had given to her mechanic and picked it up. With her grip on the barrel, she held it out to Bix. “I wish to see you rise.”

1. What sort of content do you create, and what is the thing you’ve made that you’re most proud of?

I guess I've mostly focused on offramps from canon and expanding the scope of the world that I'm playing around in

2. What fandom(s) do you create for?

Supergirl for the most part but I have a few other fandoms I'm dabbling in: Warrior Nun, MCU and Killing Eve

3. What is your current favourite ship (or brotp if you prefer), and how controversial is it?

Supercorp. I guess it's more controversial than I ever realized? I've somehow been able to avoid or outright not see any of the discourse online which is probably for the best.

4. For your answer to question 3, are they canon?

No but what is canon?

5. What was your first fandom, and how old were you?

I would say either Xena or The X-Files. I think I'd have to give the win to the X-Files because I was much more certain that I would be abducted by aliens

6. What is your most unhinged fandom creation to date?

Unhinged... Probably the MCU/Supergirl crossover I'm writing now. Lena gets yeeted to Earth-616. Not many days you get to see Matt Murdock and Kara Danvers having a conversation or Lena dancing with Peggy...

7. Do you remember what started you off creating fandom content, and if so, what was it?

Funnily enough, I was quite ignorant about the existence of fandom content. I've always liked writing so it was a very short hop to start making stories that I wanted to see inbetween the bad poetry and short stories.

8. Do you let people you know in real life see your fandom creations?

My gf reads my stuff but beyond that I'm quiet private when it comes to my fandom creations.

9. How do you feel about fanworks of fanworks? Has anyone ever made something based on a thing you made?

I feel like at its core that's what fandom is essentially. So to see these offshoots of someone's own work it's for the most part flattering. But I do see the other side of the coin where someone might feel protective of their work and find it difficult to give their blessing to it.

10. What feeling do you most often try to evoke with your creations?

I don't know if there would be a feeling above any of the others that I'm trying to evoke with my writing. I guess if I had to pick I might say I hope that it makes you cry. Angsty angsty tears

11. Has someone ever paid your work a compliment (in any form) that has stuck with you, and what was it?

I've been very blessed to have a handful of people create art for some of my fics and that's maybe the biggest compliment I could ever hope to get. To see it come to life in a different way is really magical. But I would say that every compliment has really meant so much to me.

12. What’s your favourite thing someone else has made that you’ve seen in the last 24 hours (and link it if you can find it again!)

I've been very blessed to get to see snippets from @sideguitars about fics they have in progress and those have all just been so deliciously angsty.

13. Give a small sneak preview of something you’re working on right now (eg a couple of sentences of fic from a WIP, a gif set theme, a small piece of a larger picture, whatever you feel happy to share)

“Where the fuck is it?” the woman asked. She advanced on Lena, looming over her. Not content to simply tower over Lena she leaned over her and seized her by the shoulders, hard as if she meant to shake her if she didn’t get a favorable answer. Whatever anger she might have felt at being spoken to in such a way or to have this stranger lay hands on her was nothing compared to the fear that still held her in place. I'm getting a lot better at it, just as I stopped reading so many fics. I like to pick out certain passages that really resonated with me or just thought were really well-written and tell the author why.

16. How many works in progress do you currently have? Will you finish them all?

I have about 15 WIP's that I really want to finish and a handful more that I'm more iffy on. The plan is to finish them all but if I'll ever actually do it... I hope so though.

17. what’s the longest it’s ever taken you to finish a fandom project?

I'm too embarrassed to look at the last time I updated rich girl. Years. Or Year. Anyway, too fucking long. But I'm just about done. Sorry. Life was kind of kicking my ass majorly for a while.

tfw my current WIP went from self-indulgent Tav/Shadowheart to Shadowzel bc their enemies to lovers dynamic is just TOO GOOD

like even tho they clearly hate each other at first, once the events of the creche go down Shadowheart's just like! good for her! and then when Shadowheart goes and chucks her spear into the Shadowfell Lae'zel is just like "it pains to see Shadowheart in pain" like. you can't tell me these two aren't gfs who had hate sex one night (maybe the same night they argued about the artifact and that One Scene with Shadowheart holding the knife to Lae'zel's throat,,, I'm just saying,,,) and then caught feelings

and then they'd be so soft with each other after all they go through bc like act 3 Lae'zel and Shadowheart are much more patient and they understand each other so well bc they're both badasses who turned away from their gods after years of manipulation

I've seen that one ss of origin Shadowheart where she can say smth like "we both turned away from our gods, we were made for each other" and just!!! that!!!

they're both kinda fucked up but they compliment each other in the best ways after they put aside their difference (only to find out that they're incredibly similar in so many ways it's not even funny)

...that being said, I fucking suck at writing dialogue for Lae'zel. help

WIP Whenever

I was tagged by @ouroboros-hideout approximately two weeks ago. I haven't forgotten, or ignored it, I've just been busy. And this week is no exception.

Current Projects

I'm working on creating NPV versions of my newest OCs: Teagan, Lincoln and an as-yet unnamed OC who will be revealed at a later time. No WIP pics at this stage, sorry.

Freerunners: Battlefleet

I'm working on Freerunners: Battlefleet, an encyclopedic elaboration upon the fleets of the Colonial Powers of the Freerunners universe. At the moment, I have specifications for some of the ships. Here's my favourite class, the first starship I ever came up with for Freerunners, the Aurigan Commonwealth Navy's Hurricane-class heavy cruiser.

The genesis of the Hurricane-class originated as early as 2016.

There is still much to do, and I have to design the emblems of the other major Colonial Powers. The Hurricane-class belongs to a nation known as the Commonwealth of Auriga, which has never been much of a focus until I renewed my efforts on this project.

There have been developments in the growing family legacy of the Ocampo-Gonzalezes. This is Valerie's family tree as of 01 May, 2099 (for now). As you can see, we've had some developments, including the inclusion of Lincoln, Chara and Lincoln's gf, Teagan. This is still an active WIP, and I'm using https://www.familyecho.com to do it. I've found it very user friendly, and best of all, it's free!

Other Stuff

ANYwaysss,, i loved the lastest chapter in ATWMD!! i was one of those ppl who though that sirius and dorcas were gonna be having sex so imagine my excitement when i realised it was wolfstar!! *chefs kiss* but sirius has no idea omg the angstt that would occur if sirius does ever find out omg.

Speaking of dorcas tho, I remember u answering an ask saying that she doesn't want to be pregnant. and we know that throughout the fic she clearly does not want to get married and she also sneaks out a lot. Out of curiosity,, well we ever find out what's going on with Dorcas? Why doesn't she want to get married? why does she not want to get pregnant?? what's going on with her??? Or is that aspect simply not relevant to the story? (that's completely fine btw,, I've just been headconning that dorcas is out sleeping with marlene but idk if that's just my post-thtf brain lmao))

& as far as dorcas goes. well the main reason that she does not want 2 get married & get pregnant is that she's a lesbian lol. like gay marriage does not exist within pureblood culture in this fic (& even if it does she might not want 2 get married) & she doesn't wanna get pregnant partially bc she doesn't wanna have the kind of sex that would lead 2 pregnancy but also bc she simply. is a person who does not want 2 get pregnant ever like even if she was w a gf who could get her pregnant she wouldn't wanna have a baby lol. so i mean all that is just part of her character in this fic.

however there is indeed some stuff going on w dorcas aside from all that so. currently i am planning 2 reveal eventually what's up w her...unless of course i change my mind & take the fic in a different direction etc. but yeah glad the hints r being picked up on etc...glad i have successfully managed 2 plant the seed of "hey is something going on w dorcas" lol

last book/fic finished: 2 different answers here!! last book was iron flame by rebecca yarros (yes, i caved to all the hype and read it on the plane - yes, there were bits that pissed me off, but i mostly enjoyed it) and last fic was one of AO3 user venerat's landoscar masterpieces, "i'll kiss you first" <3

last book/fic abandoned: hmm... i tried to read this rom-com called "you & me: a mlm single dads romance" while on holiday in SA, and i just... couldn't make it more than 5 chapters in. the cringe (& the VERY american focus of... everything...) was just too much for me, especially because i tried to read this right after a super delightful wlw rom-com recommended to me by darling @duquesademiel. after that, this one just... couldn't compare. at all.

currently reading: well, i'm back to work, so my time for books has unfortunately dropped exponentially... all i'm actively reading rn is a bunch of f1 rpf fics, to be perfectly honest

last thing researched for writing/art/hyperfixation: "WHAT COULD CAUSE A SCANDAL IN THE REGENCY ERA" 🤣🤭

favourite old fandom you wish would drag you back in/have a resurgence: HMMM! i am mostly over all my old fandoms by now, to be fair, but if i really had to choose one... probably one direction?? because a proper resurgence would mean the reunion, right? (right?) ((so maybe i'm not quite as "over it" as i pretend 🤭))

favourite thing that you enjoyed that never had an active fandom: ohhhh, i can't think of a name immediately now, but it's definitely some or other book series that, if it had a fandom at all, was so tiny that i was practically the only person in it 🥲
