Time for today’s Rock Report,

Emerson, Lake & Palmer will release a 7-inch Singles box set on August 26 via BMG.

The vinyl box set will feature a dozen 45-rpm seven-inch discs replicating various U.S., U.K. and international singles. The set features the discs housed in reproduced, original picture sleeves and comes packaged with a booklet containing detailed notes, rare photos of the U.K. prog-rock trio and a foreword by ELP drummer Carl Palmer. The release of the 12 reproduced two-sided 7-inch singles box set, which features songs spanning from 1971 to 1992, will mark ELP's 50th anniversary. All of the tracks have been remastered by renowned ELP mastering engineer Andy Pearce. "This box set of singles is very important to the development of ELP. The music that you will hear opened the door to radio around the world, and then the musical concept of ELP was born," Palmer says.

In an interview with The Globe and Mail, Roger Waters claimed he's "far, far, far more important than any of them will ever be," expressing his frustration over The Weeknd's concert receiving more media coverage than his. Waters also name-dropped another iconic Canadian artist, Drake. Waters, apparently hurt over Canadian newspapers not reviewing his two concerts as part of the This is Not a Drill tour in Toronto on July 8 and 9, asked The Globe and Mail reporter Brad Wheeler about the perceived snub. After Wheeler explained that he was assigned to review The Weeknd's show on the same night, as he was considered a much more popular act than Waters, the former Pink Floyd bassist/singer responded, "I have no idea what or who the Weeknd is, because I don't listen to much music. People have told me he's a big act. Well, good luck to him. I've got nothing against him. Would it not have been possible to review his show one night and my show another night?"

Heart's Ann Wilson said she and her sister and bandmate Nancy plan to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary next year but did not reveal the details. Wilson revealed the news in an interview with Grammy.com.

"I'm not at liberty to say exactly what they are yet because it's such early days, but sure. It will be next year. And we're doing a thing. Definitely. We're still formulating it now," Wilson said. The sister duo last toured as Heart in 2019, reuniting three years after a family issue led them to become estranged. Both Wilson sisters have released solo music since, with Nancy introducing a new version of the classic band this year. "Heart had a big offer on the table last year for a bigger tour, but Ann wasn't interested in going out with my lineup of guys that we were out with before. She has a new lineup of guys that she wanted me to join up with. And I sort of [thought] I don't really know them and don't have loyalty yet for anybody like that," Nancy said in a recent interview.
