So let's try again.

In DQ9, there are 3 gods:

Zenus: the God, the Great Architect, the Almighty.

Celestria: his daughter, later named Yggdrasil.

Corvus: simple angel gone rogue, took Zenus's place in the end game and is called the Mighty.

So chronogically, it starts with Zenus being disappointed in mortals because they're selfish, ungrateful, why is he even wasting time on them, so he tries to make apocalypse. His daughter blocks the attacks and announces mortal are worthy and she'll ~~hold her breath~~ transform into a tree until they prove it to him. So he builds the Observatory (flying island-building) and Celestrians (angels) tasked to take care of mortals.

So there are angels everywhere in towns, on the road, invisible and doing side quests like finding lost items and keeping monsters away from villages. Mortals make bubbles of gratitude energy and angels believe if they bring enough of these to Yggdrasil (who they ignore is the daughter of god), then god will allowed them to live forever in his realm and they'll all be retreated.

Your story begins as you're being tested by your mentor Aquila, who wants to trust you with guarding his assigned village, so he can go search his own mentor who disappeared 300 years ago. But when you passed the test, turns out you have brought the last required Benevolessence. The tree starts glowing and bearing Fyggs (wish granting fruits), the angels are happy to be finally retreated and they're going to see god in person! The magical flying train lands on the Observatory, but suddenly, dark rays coming from the mortal land and strike the Observatory, the train and the realm of the Almighty. You learn later that this attack harmed Zenus who split into 10 post game bosses you can beat again and again for your greatest pleasure. But also the train, the fruits and you fall. You loose your wings and aureola (which made you invisible and able to see benevolessence). You learn down there that the attack also caused earthquakes that put people in danger and agitated monsters (therefore victims of a god). Searching for a way to get back up, you find a fairy who's related to the train and you try to gather benevolessence to fuel the train. You manage to do that and Yggdrasil chooses to talk to you, saying you're a chosen one and you have to gather the fyggs before they harm anyone, because its magic goes wrong with mortal (take a note of this).

So your mission is to find people who made wishes that went inevitably wrong, make people renounce to them and you get the fruit back. Including a priest (Jack of Alltrades) who wants to guide his people better, but his fygg made him a monster who "convinces" people to obey through pain and fear. A fisherman (Dylan Jones) who died at sea and wished his orphan girl to be safe and he became a leviathan, worshipped and abused by his village, he had to fish for those lazy bastards. A rich orphan girl (Marion) who was very sick and had no friends, instead of wishing health she made her human sized copy doll alive to be her friend and died in the hour, and the doll tried to make friend with people who only pretended to be so they'd get her wealth, then she gets kidnapped, and this conversation happens https://youtu.be/GP8VyADuQ-c at 12:52, the doll gives up on her life because she can't make friends. Another victim of the fruit is a lizard pet (Drak) who fell in love with his human owner and his wish didn't transform him into a human, but a dragon who kidnaps his owner. The other fyggs didn't really have such tragic outcomes so anyway you are going back to the Observatory with the 7 fyggs, but on the way you meet Aquila, who attacks you (note, you're completely paralysed if you try to attack a fellow angel who's your superior. Remember that for later) and steals the fruits. More adventures later you get back to the Observatory where you learn Aquila did give the fruits. You go where Aquila has gone and turns out he's double agent for king Godwin who imprisoned Corvus, Aquila's mentor. He harms Aquila, you defeat him then he tries to kill you in his last breath, but Aquila protects you and dies. You freed Corvus who attacks you and you can't do anything, then he goes to the realm of the Almighty and claim his throne. You bring the fruits to Yggdrasil who transforms back, Celestria makes one more fruit out of all the friends you made on the way and tells you to wish to be mortal. You do it and go beat Corvus, who is now very demonic. But as you defeat him, his love interest who died and became a ghost 300 years before appears and he reverts to being an angel, and they go together to the afterlife. Back at the Observatory, Celestria says she makes all the angels (so not you since you're a mortal now) become stars in the sky (which is how after angel's death was described to you after Aquila died), she also destroys the Observatory, then she asks you to keep doing your job like an angel, but on the whole mortal realm, and the magical train brings you in the mortal world, then your mortality takes fully effect as you cease to see the train, your fairy friend, etc.

Then a fygg falls from the sky and if you follow it, the village with the leviathan has a real leviathan (not the girl's dad who is dead for good) who gives you the fruit. You're given the choice to eat it and if you refuse, the fairy hits you until you eat it. Reminder, you're a mortal and the fyggs don't grant correct wishes to mortals. And when you do, the only thing that changes is that you can see people like that fairy and stuff like the train.

So yeah pretty much everyone suffered from one or several gods, but especially the Celestrians and the mortals who found a fygg.

The Countess’ grin only widens, pride filling her as more vampires around the party begin to eye you as you cry. Her husband stiffens on the other side, grip tightening around your hand.

A particularly bold vampire steps closer, looking you up and down hungrily. “Are we to take it that this is to be our dessert?”

The Countess’ smile vanishes as other vampires begin to step forward one by one, desire clearly written across their faces. She lets go of you as you sob particularly loudly, letting her husband hold you in his arms. You bury your face in his coat.

“Have I not provided enough for you, my guests?”

“Ah, indeed, you have provided much,” the arrogant first vampire to speak pipes up again. “And yet, is it not customary for a host to share samples of their finest wares with their guests?”

Other vampires chime in, agreeing one by one. A few murmur nervously amongst themselves, staying back.

“I abhor your covetousness,” the Countess hisses. “Need I remind you of the reason for my status?”

“It has been a few centuries, dear Countess…” the other vampire sneers, “and you seem to have gotten quite soft.”

You hear a crack, and a gurgle, and squeeze your eyes shut tighter. The rest of the vampires fall silent. The Count strokes the back of your head gently.

The Countess laughs. Even without seeing her face, you can envisage the bloodlust writ upon her features, mouth curled into a terrible snarl of a smile. “Would anyone else care to test my patience tonight?”

HELLO?????? little!JD????????? opening my eyes fr to that! Especially with the fandom's parentification of him!!! Of how *hes* the one who had always taken care of the brothers, sure they had their grandma but John always felt responsible for his brothers bc he's the oldest! He has to take care of them! It's literally his job! That's probably why he was so obsessed with the family harmony and being perfect

JD def would feel out of place at first regressing because he's use to being the one taking care of his brothers and not them taking care of *him* I feel like his first time regressing would be....not great tbh, lotta emotions lotta crying...just a mess really but after a couple more times I feel like he'd enjoy it a lot!!!

John dory would be a messy little! Always covered in dirt and grime, probably has sticks in his hair! He just loves exploring and having adventures that he can't help get dirty!

You are so right his first few times regressing would be very emotional!! I think he'd be very worried about his brother's, not allowing himself to relax "but what about Floyd?? He had that whole traumatic expirence, who's going to make sure he's ok??? It's my job to do that" After a few times he'd maybe relax a bit if poppy or even Bruce promised that they're keeping an eye on everyone, but I also think JD would be afraid of not being "needed", if he's not taking care of his brothers then why do they even keep him around? It takes alot of gentle conversations and reasurance that he's important and loved no matter what

I imagine viva being a very fun excitable caregiver, that also tends to be very nervous!! She loves that JD loves exploring and having adventures, but please stay where she can see you! It's still can be dangerous even without the bergains being threats, and little ones shouldn't be on their own anyways!!

Poppy and little! JD sing karaoke together!! Both poppy and viva find lots of nature related crafts for him, like leaf prints!! I just imagine Rhonda throwing him up and catching him again, with viva in between thinking it's adorble and also having a heart attack

I'm thinking the layout of the toy box consists of 2 level maps. Bare with me, this will be long.

1st one is the main landscape of the realm. Nice and vibrant. Very colorful, but I think the main dominant color would be yellow since... Butter. Big contrast to the dolls who've gone hyperactive and are trying to kill Gingerbrave and Co. Rosemary, thankfully, shows up on time to lead them to safety, possibly a village. The dolls within the place are either dormant, passive, or docile, keeping themselves safe. We learn from Rosemary that ever since Golden Butter Cookie had fallen into an everlasting slumber, leaving them with no other purpose or task, caused a divide amongst her doll servants. So much so that the hyper focused ones even began attacking the others who didn't join them. When Gingerbrave asks if there's an exit to the toybox realm but they say that it's been shut for years, and that only Golden Butter Cookie could open it. This is what motivates the gang to go wake her up. Rosemary goes along with them to make sure they don't die. Being one of GBC's first creations, they know the realm like the back of their hand, and knows where she is. The final boss battle is probably with another doll that had been working hard to fend off people from the dollhouse not because they were protecting GBC, but because everything inside the dollhouse has gown downhill.

2nd layer is the dollhouse where Golden Butter Cookie is kept in. It looks like a normal dollhouse at first, but the further you go, the much darker.. The messier... The creepier it gets. The dolls inside, though still hyper focused on protecting Golden Butter Cookie are damaged, bent, or distorted. There's this one doll, no, a mannequin doll that looks just like a cookie constantly ambushes the group, trying to prevent them from going further. The further they go... The more the group wonders why GBC is stuck in a deep slumber, and finally, Rosemary finally explains who GBC really is, who she was before she hid away from everyone in the toy box realm, and her relations with the Beast Cookies. I'm assuming this is the part where they tell Rosemary about what really happened to Shadow Milk Cookie, and the current situation that is happening beyond the toybox realm. Realizing the urgency, they become more motivated to keep pushing forward and wake up GBC.

The moment they get there... It's a small room, with a faint light that shines through the windows. Amongst pillows, flowers, and plants, is a glass coffin, in which Golden Butter Cookie is asleep. Giving off the motivation sucking aura that is keeping the group away. However, Rosemary manages to muster up enough strength to open the glass coffin to wake her up.

They wait for a moment... It all seems hopeless... But the room goes dark, and Golden Butter Cookie awakens.

As she eyes Gingerbrave and Co. She's... Disappointed... Sad. What was she expecting for? But she sensed it... She sensed HIS soul jam. So why isn't HE here? Cowardice had led to Shame... Her shame had drove her to her eternal slumber that let her escape from her thoughts... Now they were rushing back.. She was wide awake... And she's finally snapped.

Thus, the final boss battle in the toybox realm begins, as Golden Butter Cookie commands the dolls to fight for their puppet master. Their creator. Replicating any spell or attack of their respective cookies while GBC unleashes her own spells.

But, anyways, I don't believe that Goldie would order the puppets/dolls/pookies(plushie cookies) to fight for her. The very minute she sees Pure Vanilla she's assuming the worst and thinking that he killed Shadow Milk for his Soul Jam.

The first thing she does after she sees it is to call out Rosemary for not coming to the realization she did before rosemary could explain. She tells Rosemary to go and Rosemary cannot help but follow orders. Goldie then summons a spear and immediately rushes to attack Pure Vanilla, who quickly puts up a shield.

The fight with Golden Butter Cookie would be brutal. There's a constant de-buff affecting your team thanks to her aura of burnout, and if you have any ancients then Golden Butter Cookie will focus on attacking them.

Luckily, due to her own burnout, her hp drains over the course of the battle. As to symbolize her slowly succumbing to her emotions. After the battle is when Gingerbrave and Co actually get to explain the situation proper. And after hearing their explanation... " ... I... I see... So he's alive... and free..."

She's... depressed? Why wouldn't she be? If he had really gotten sealed, and was just now free, then why didn't he come see her? Did he... forget her? ... It was a terrible thought, one she didn't like thinking about. Soon, however, she agrees to join the Gingergang to help out with the situation.

She wondered what it was like, briefly, if she hadn't been a coward back then. Maybe if she did more to help, maybe if she fought back against the beasts when they arose, maybe none of this would have happened... but-

But what? does it really matter? It'd be better to not linger in the past too much after all.

With that, she fixes the Toy-Box, repaired the hyperfocused and dorment to their former states and creating one last thing, a crown. She gifts the Crown to Rosemary, telling her to lead the citizens of the Toy-Box in her stead this time instead of just abandoning them. Rosemary agrees, not because it's her new purpose, but because she genuinely wants to help the other residents of the Toy-Box towards a better future.

And after that, she leaves the Toy-Box with Gingerbrave and co.

It, also turns out that Rosemary lied to them. They could have just gone back the way they came, there's no way to lock the Toy-Box from the Inside after all. Rosemary really wanted to help Goldie though, and if it took lying to a few cookies? Well, that's certainly something she's willing to do.

...

But what's Golden Butter Cookie going to do after seeing Shadow Milk again? Well... Let's just say that she can be very scary when she wants to be, especially after going through the equivalent of being left on read for thousands of years.

This is torture. Literal torture. Jornos killing me atm. I was so determined to like smash out another chapter and now I think it needs a rewrite. Curse my perfectionist tendencies.

Right Lemme give you an idea of what I want to happen in chapter two. This is obviously going to be Tommy’s first proper introduction with the family. So currently he’s dead silent as he internally panics about the fact he’s human size and can’t shrink. That and he’s terrified he’s going to be hurt because he’s in the presence of Humans.

Meanwhile we have Phil and Wilbur in the kitchen (Techno is unfortunately not home atm. You will get your bedrock bros content eventually promise) and are like: The heck did this child come from, why are they starved and let’s adopt them.

Basically they’ll try to talk to him and get him to open up. But he’s just silent (terrified out of his mind maybe.) They eat and then put Tommy up to sleep for the night in the guest room.

Somehow its going to lead into Tommy being able to shrink back down and he’ll go back into the walls, cue frantic rest of sbi going out to find him not knowing he’s in the walls. >:3

This of course is gonna puzzle the heck out of Tommy because no one’s ever actively gone looking for him and looked so worried before. He’s never been truly loved, so he can’t recognise that despite only knowing him for like a few hours, they’re concerned for his well being.

Somehow from here we’ll lead into chapter 3 but I’ll leave the plot for that a mystery for now.
