For your consideration: Hob living two drastically different lives in the Waking and the Dreaming. In the Waking, he is as we saw him in canon - respected and beloved professor owning the New Inn on the side. In the Dreaming though, he is thrown right back into a fucked-open body plugged full of eggs from Dream's nightmare sea, and writhing naked and beautiful under absentminded but no less possessive tentacles.
Hob no longer dreams like a normal human. His dreams are a single continuous experience that merely pause when he wakes and politely waits for him to fall asleep again to continue. Hea can't nap or doze in his office anymore, unless he wants to walk around with a wet underwear for the rest of the day. Every time he falls asleep, he's right back into the greedy grasp of Dream to continue where they left off - whether it's mid-thrust or at the edge of cumming.

Martyn is a mimic, and thats how he slightly changes species and makes creeper noises. He didn't tell anyone this. No one is aware this is what's happening. At some point they just all assumed he was really good at it, and that the life serise is just being funky and changing him like it does to Scott occasionally. But no, it's just completely him. Changing from carboy to dogboy in-between session one and two of secret life? Just him goin "eh, dogs fit better".
